Lord's Dominion of Malagawi
Department of Foreign Affairs || Embassy et Consulate Initiative
Introduction
Malagawi, officially the Lord's Dominion of Malagawi, is a federative, theocratic autocracy based upon the laws set forth by the fifteen commandments of the Gogondian faith. It is an island nation located on the Karika subcontinent, and the nation itself is primarily located in a arid climate zone, whilst the southernmost sections of the state are notably subarctic. Located east of the Golden Sea, south of the Isle of Ghuran, west of the Greater Southern Sea, and north of the Antarctic Ocean, Malagawi itself is geopolitically isolated in the southern sector of the Ashazethic region.
The Lord's Dominion spans nearly 585,149 km2 of land, which makes it one of the smallest nations on the planet in terms of physical size, albeit nearly thirty percent of that land is nigh uninhabitable. The nation's primarily Gogondian population of approximately 14,000,000 is mainly concentrated on the northeastern coast of nation, or the "Jirungo Coast." The city of Osgombo is the capital of Malagawi, and the city of Ninor is the largest city in the nation, with a population just above 500,000 people.
With a population of merely seventeen million people, Malagawi is one of the smallest nations on the planet in terms of population. Malagawi is a developing nation, and is widely considered to be a third world nation. Many of the country's non-desert regions are subjected to near-constant flooding, whilst the other parts of the country, excluding much of the land along the Jirungo Coast, is threatened by desertification and drought nearly year-round. The economy is centered around the trade and export of small arms, fishing, oil et petroleum products, and minerals such as copper. The progress of Malagawi towards becoming a more developed nation has been halted by a series of natural disasters, a lack of infrastructure in many parts of the country, poor education, poverty of its people, and several years of government instability.
The ethnic makeup of Malagawi is fairly diversified among black and caucasian populations, thanks in part to a historical series of foreign expeditions and colonial establishments on the Karikan subcontinent. The Great Decade's Revolutionary War lead to the severe loss of caucasian life within Malawi, yet as of 2012 a large caucasian Malagawian population still exists.
Diplomatic Immunity
Any diplomats or embassy personnel are, generally, exempt from being held to trial in the Lord's Court. It is therefore expected that diplomats and embassy personnel will present and act with most preferable behavior during their time in Malagawi. Should a diplomat, ambassador, and or a member of the embassy/consulate staff commit a crime within Malagawi, they will be exempt from trial insofar as the offense is deemed "accidental and without malicious intent," as the Gogondian faith dictates the the prosecution of the innocent is not only deplorable, but furthermore a crime in and of itself. Should, however, a diplomat, ambassador, or member of an embassy/consulate's staff commit a crime intentionally and with malicious intent, they will be subjected to trial and potential sentencing in the Lord's Court. Any requests to have a trial or prosecution withdrawn will be reviewed should the government in which the servant in question represents request such.
In the event of a crime or incident occurring on embassy or consulate soil, it is entirely the business of the nation operating the embassy or consulate, and the Lord's Dominion will refrain from interfering in the matter unless one of its citizens is involved. In the event that a Malagawian is involved in a crime in a embassy/consulate within the Lord's Dominion, the Lord's Dominion is entitled to interfere as it sees fit.
