WorldVision Song Contest 21 Discussion

Postby WorldVision Committee » Sun Feb 05, 2012 9:17 am

Since WorldVision 20 is almost over, here's the signups for 21st WorldVision Song Contest! Signups will be the same as last time, just post your national final here. Or, if you don't want to actually post a national final, you can just tell us the title of the song, and the name of the artist performing it.

The contest itself is basically the same as Eurovision. First, all the participating countries post the performance (with lyrics) of their entry, and then, once all the entries have been performed, every nation decides their votes, with the same 1 to 12 points format as used in Eurovision. Everything's the same except that we don't have those silly rules about how many of them can be on the stage, etc.

Finally, all songs in the contest must be original. No real-life songs or artists are may be entered into the contest, but parodies of RL song are of course allowed. Parody doesn't mean "real life song with some other words" but a song on the melody of a RL song.

Euskirribakondara and Artsakhestan are in again.
Another country of us will enter, YOU will decide if it's either Valdaranes, Monlyuxeburga or Puerto Candelaria.

EUS will have Euskal-Musika3, AKH will have a national final with details to come up soon.

Question:
Can EUS and AKH submit two different host bids?

Crolacia is confirming it's participation in WorldVision 21! Our entry is Tragedy,by Erina Garlan. The song and artist was firstly meant to perform only on 7th World Hit Festival, but due to its megapopularity,Erina was chosen to perform on WorldVision 21 too.

KB and I will talk about it. But I think it's quite unfair; you'd have much bigger chances to win the bidding as others.

Syv-I mean Luziyca signs up, with "The Hymn of Communism," written by Sobeck Shjoraski, set to the tune of some unfortunate nation's anthem, and sung by... a Pony. Yes, a pony. Her name? Flute.

Host bid coming soon.

The RTM (Radio-Television Mediterra/Radiu-Telefisione Mediterranija) is currently considering participation in the WorldVision Song Contest 21. We are certainly very busy due to the fact that we are also debuting in the World Hit Festival 7.

We HAVE NOT confirmed participation yet, however, if we do, we already have a song.

We will make another announcement within 24 hours.

Honestly, can we just act a little human for once?

Main Information of the Luziycan Bid

This year, there will be two locations, the capital of the Republics of Upper and Lower Embark, Jerusalem, and the capital of the Christian Republic of Luziyca, Bethlehem.

Image
Image of the Luziycan National Stadium, 2007, completed in 2004.

Image

In Bethlehem, the odd numbered entries (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, etc...) will take place at the Luziycan National Stadium, used for football tournaments, concerts, hockey and track and field. With a capacity of 81,500 people, and 10,000 extra seats for this event. It has a hotel and a shopping center, perfect for the singers and guests who travel from over the world. The five star hotel in the stadium is owned by a major hotel chain, Sprska Hotels. Here, it is Sprska Hotel Bethlehem, and is a key 5 star hotel. The green room is located at the swimming pool of the hotel, located directly under the field, with a restaurant overlooking the pool. Whether you want to sing, admire, swim or watch TV, Sprska Bethlehem is ready for you. It has no retractable roof, but despite our cold winters, you will grow to love the scenery. Snowfall could occur, in which case all performances that day are delayed until the snow is removed, from the stadium.

In Jerusalem, it will be held at the Saint Anthony Cathedral in the heart of the old town, and the largest cathedral for 1,300 years in the world, it has room for 15,000 people. Even-numbered performances will be held, with the admiring of beauty. Whilst it is close to the Arctic Circle, the nearest hotel is a Sprska Hotel, called Sprska Haunastad, located within 10 minutes walking distance from the Cathedral, with the green room being at the Smitty's in the hotel. 5 star hotel, the accommodations are going to be free at the Sprska Haunastad, for the performers in WorldVision 21. Watch TV, practice your vocals, swim or drink some soda, it is all available in Jerusalem. The only alcoholic beverage sold legally, however, is wine, of all kinds, ranging from Luziycan, to Iglesian, to Swilatian and even the occasional Hippostanian wine (made before 1801).

To arrive in Bethlehem, your plane will land at the Bethlehem (Lyra) International Airport (IATA: BLA) a state of the art airplane terminal, capable of carrying two million passengers at any one time. With flights constantly coming in and out, it is considered to be the busiest airport in the Christian Republic of Luziyca, and possibly the region. It has two terminals, the third being the Lyra Air Force Base (LAFB), and ten runways. Once every 10 minutes, one plane lands whilst another leaves.

To arrive in Jerusalem, your plane will land in the Jerusalem (Toffee) International Airport (IATA: JTA), a key state of the art airplane terminal, but it can hold 500,000 passengers at any one time, with three runways. It has one terminal, and is considered to be the 3rd busiest airport. Once every 45 minutes, a plane lands, and another leaves Jerusalem. Security in both airports are tight, meaning if one tries to smuggle bombs, drugs or alcoholic products (sans wine), they can and will be punished under Luziycan laws.

Theme

The theme for this contest is literally, Democracy and Liberty that are sanctioned by God. This was a dream of the first President, Huswa Varanken, serving from 1863 to 1864 as the President of the Luziycan Congress, and from 1864 to 1876 as President of the Christian Republic. While he may have gone insane, and isolated our land for nearly a century, he believed Christianity should lead democracy and liberty. In the modern case, it means that morality and religious influence should and must have an influence in politics. Because Luziyca was united (including Inelda and Arazei), it was founded on liberty and democracy, but it also was united by one key force that still molds our society today: Christianity.

The goal of the contest, should Bethlehem and Jerusalem hold the bid, is to teach the world, that religion plays a pivotal role in culture, and society, and that democracy and liberty should embrace faith, not attempt to secularize the nation, but follow the dominant faith in their own nations.

So that practically is it. This is our description for a bid of Luziyca, for two cities in our nation, to host WV21. We hope for the nations to vote for us, and embrace our ideas and knowledge that can and will be put into the songs in this contest, regardless of species, whether it is alien, human or pony, it is up to you to exercise free will that was given by the Lord.

Wouldn't it lower their chances, splitting the vote and all? After all, there can be only one winning bid.

Anyway, the idea of one player submitting two bids is a bit silly, but I can't think of any good reason to disallow it.

Republic of Lanos Host Bid:

Image
World Vision 21
Keinsteinem, Lanos
The beauty of the night and the joy of song!

Main information:

For the Lanosian bid, the event will be held in Federal Stadium, the largest public sports venue in Lanos that can seat upwards of 250,000 people. The layout is typical of a football stadium however the north end of the football stadium can be turned into a stage venue as thousands of more fans can congregate on the football field to watch their favorite performers take the stage. The stadium boasts a state-of-the-art viewing screen reputed to be as large as the Godzillatron and plenty of private boxes allow those to view the contest with considerable privacy. To arrive in Keinsteinem, your plane will land at Carl Rezantia Sr. Keinsteinem International Airport. This airport is the largest airport in Lanos and has plenty of terminals for participants to arrive.
Image
A 2008 picture of the reconstructed Federal Stadium.

Theme:

The contest theme "The beauty of the night and the joy of song!" comes from an old Lanosian proverb where a husband was singing to his love and his line described how he felt of his love comparing her to the night and how his singing made his love feel joy for him. The theme will be shown across the contest as Keinsteinem will take a joyful feeling on the night of the contest as we all participate for fun in Worldvision 21 if Lanos were to get the host bid. The contest goal for Lanos is to show the world that Lanos is a great country and stands ready to show that we are ready to host Worldvision.

Stage:

Stage for the contest.

The stage used for WorldVision 21 will be different than the standard stage used for concerts at Federal Stadium. The LED panels are fully adjustable for all participants to fit their show and any and all reasonable props are allowed. Given that Federal Stadium is an expansive football stadium, the stage will be on the north end zone area of the field and will be large enough to accommodate.

That is our first host bid. Please enjoy.

No, it won't lower the chances. But KB says there is no rule that says it's not allowed, so probably you should listen to him, EUSK.
