I understood. Honours is basically half credit, right? You don't get to skip a year of college, but are better prepared.

AP means you skip a year of college, no?

No. Honors is just a more advanced class, no extra credits. As far as I know.

The SAT and ACT are two entirely different tests that can be taken in either 11 or 12th grade. They're basically used to evaluate how much you know, and show colleges what your scores. I didn't take the SAT only the ACT but I got a 32 so I had colleges across the country send me stuff without even checking anything else.

I think they check GPA too. I got a 29 but I didn't get into a great college, largely because my GPA wasn't stellar.

Also the fact that I was in Sp. Ed. classes for a while didn't help.

yes and no

You take the ACT in 11th grade for free but they are college entry exams. You can take the ACt and SAT as many times you want but you have to pay to take them. If you dont meet the requirements on either the ACT or SAT, colleges here will refuse to let you enroll.

Oh, so yes, the A-level would be more comparable to that.

You are allowed a maximum of 5 applications based on preference (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). All those colleges will see your essay, your past AS and GCSE results, your CV, and teachers' comments, and based on that they will offer you a seat in January.

If you get the required grades in the A2 exams in May and June (results come out in August), then you're in.

You pay for the ACT too. You are either really lucky to have a school that pays for those or you just don't realize your parents are paying for it.
I got a great score on my ACT but I didn't bother following up any off the offers as my GPA hovered just around 3.0 which is nowhere near enough to go to a 4 year. I go to the local JC but then again its shitloads cheaper.

I'm reasonably certain the SAT (I don't know about the ACT) measures your capacity for learning and retaining information, not how much you know.

Basically. My local news is bullshit anyways. Every show is like this:

Yeah, same here. Instead of reporting actual news, they showed a trailer for the new Twilight movie.

Ridiculous.

But I'll do it tomorrow!
