Location

The City of Sekth is located in the Western most area of North Western Syrche. The Humid Continental Climate of the Country allows for the cities residents to enjoy the beach to the west on occasion.

To the South West, across the Karpathian Inlet, lies the port City of Karpathia, the major trade hub of Syrche.
North of Sekth, the Manufacturing and Production City of Varutja rests on the border of the Dark Forest, which cradles the North and East of the Country.
East of Sekth lies the Fertile Valley, which is the major Agricultural Hub of the Country.

Previous Capital

In 1461 the first permanent Capital of Syrche was established in Wiltja, which, at the time, was the largest city in the country. Over time, however, as the lands to the north were explored, Joliet Abernathy-Williams proposed and encouraged movement to the north. The Establishment of a trading post in the north (Karpathia) was crucial in increasing trade with The Socialist State of North Duquesne (Then known as the Greater Republic of Duquesne) as travel in the area increased, discovery was made of the fertile Midland regions of Northern Syrche, and a great number of Farmers travelled to the Region for its fertile soil.

During this time, with Agriculture on the rise, a trade root by land was created, which would involve clear cutting a small area of the northern forest. The Manufacturing town of Varutja resulted from this, and many industrial and agricultural tools were fashioned within its factories.

With the onset of the Great War in 1487, it was decided by Prince Christian III that Wilktja was an easy target for the Solavice Federation, (being in the south, along the only bit of exposed border) and thus the Capital was, very publicly, moved north, between the Manufacturing Hub, and the Trade Hub. The decision proved tactical.

A Modern Setting

Syrche has come a long way as a country since foundation. It is no longer a Principality, (as of 1506) instead stripping away the title for the more traditionally accepted Duchy of Syrche.

Keeping the Capital in the North mobilized a great number of the population that had remained in the South. For the most part, Northern Citizens lived more comfortably, with more Amenities and conveniences than southerners. Some opposed a permanent northern Capital, but they were largely ignored by the leadership at the time. Prince Christian III, who really had very little Authoritarian powers at the time, became a hero to the people, and went down in history as such for his bravery and leadership. His Legacy Lives on in Sekth Today.

*Haus of Common

A modest two story building, constructed of Bricks from the Fertile valley region and Granite from the quarry in Lanceastershire, south of Wilktja.

*Origional Prime Minister Mansion

Anadite Rembrandt, the Prime Minister under the new Capital, believed that lumber from the northern woods would provide a sturdy house for the Prime MInister for years to come. The house was completed in 1488. Rembrandt lived in the house for 3 months before being defeated in election by Ward Staffordson. The house remains, though empty, and is a main attraction.

*Prime Minister Mansion

Staffordson feared Fire and demanded a brick house. The house that resulted is used by our own Freeman Garnett Today.

*Noble's Mansion

The Duke's Mansion is located just south of the city of Sekth, on 30 acres of sprawling meadow.

*Statue of Joliet Abernathy-Williams

The first Woman, AND first Black to elicit equal treatment from her peers. She led the western pioneer movement to leave the motherland of Ansley for an unsettled nation. Led the Freedom and Equality for Minorities Act in the assumed role of Prime Minister.
Inscription reads: "We have witnessed the atrocities, waged against our neighboring nations, let us not fall to the same hands. Valor cannot validate the ignorance of those who replicate the blunders of history." Joliet Abernathy-Williams, on the idea of fighting against the Solavice people, and the prospective slaughter that would entail

*The Constitution

The Constitution was written in Wiltja by Joliet Abernathy-Williams and was revised and Co-Authored by Prince Christian I. When the Capital was changed, there was still a very good possibility that the Solavice Army would pass through Wiltja, Blundering and Burning most of the town. As a precaution for such events, several historically important Documents were moved, for the time at hand, to Karpathia, where they were thought to be reasonably safe. Afterwards, it , and several other important documents, were taken to the capital city and put on display for citizen viewership, and kept on display for foreign diplomats.
