Notes for Foreign Diplomatic Missions in the Alandeian Empire
(Internal note: Jorris, releasing this now, but we need photog of appropriate locs. It's just three locs, can't be too hard.)
The following locations are available for diplomatic missions:
Imperial City is the capital of the Empire of Alandei, and is the location of the Imperial Palace and the Houses of Parliament. The city itself is on Imperial territory and is one of very few locations in the Empire in which typical regionalism is absent; it in fact remained completely neutral territory during the Civil War. Three airports, Imperial International Central, Tanith Memorial, and Darien High Hill, serve the city.
The Palace District
The Empress Alanna Memorial Square
Versino
Diplomatic immunity is automatically granted to any and all staff, foreign or locally-hired, of any diplomatic mission. However, should such staff commit criminal acts within the Empire, we may request that such immunity be waived, or declare the offender persona non grata, as necessary. Additionally, all chanceries are automatically extraterritorial space and are considered territory of the nation from which the diplomatic mission hails.
The Empress has authorised a maximum allowable embassy staff of sixty (60). This is a total number, combining diplomatic, security, and service staff. Translators for non-English-speaking embassies will be provided on request. The Empress requests that diplomatic security units be limited to at most thirty (30) effectives, counting officers. Security personnel are permitted the following weapons: sidearms, submachine guns, shotguns, rifles of any kind except sniper rifles*, as well as any number of nonlethal weaponry.
* - With regards to designated marksman rifles, only one such rifle is permitted in any security unit, regardless of size.
Please be advised that no private security firms are permitted to stand as diplomatic guard in the Empire; all guards, civilian or military, must be state-assigned. If no such guards exist in the home state, then we will be happy to second a unit to stand guard.
A foreign mission is permitted a maximum of twelve (12) ground vehicles, which may all be armored if such is requested. Only one (1) such vehicle may be a limousine; opulence is generally frowned upon. Riverside embassies are permitted at most two (2) watercraft, with no size restriction except that enforced by the river. All missions are permitted one (1) civilian helicopter for aerial transportation.
As a minor note, it is requested that any religiously-observant personnel of an embassy not make a show of their faith in public. Though freedom of religion is guaranteed in Imperial Law, the average citizen of the Empire still has a long-standing and long-bred distrust of religion of any stripe. We include this note for the safety of any religiously-observant personnel the mission may include.
