I would have to say Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

What do you all think?

Hopscotch.
I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Hard to say. I am personally a fan of Chess.

If we're talking about computer games specifically, my current favorites are The Battle for Wesnoth and Battlestations: Midway, but there are a lot of classic games I have not yet played.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

Dammit! I lost the game!
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.- Carl Sagan

I'm a big fan of your mom.
I play her all night long :D

seriously i would probably say FFVII. Gameplay was good, story was great, characters were all solid (nobody was the one that NOBODY wanted to play). Set the bar for future RPGs.

Chess. Played in it's modern form since the 15th Century.

Can't really argue with that.

so many contenders...

Tetris
Mario Brothers
Legend of Dragoon
FF6
FF7
FF9
FF12
Halo (the original - the other two seem to lack... something)
Armed and Dangerous
all of the games in the Ratchet & Clank series
Age of Empires
Fallout 3
all games in The Orange Box

*edit* almost forgot some that have been mentioned earlier by others, such as Starcraft and the N64 Zelda titles, still, I gotta keep:

Of all of those, my favorite would have to be Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando.

and Apples to Apples is the best card game ever.

The Empire of Pretantia wrote:[...] TLDR; welcome to the internet. Bicker or GTFO.
"Why is self-control, autonomy, such a threat to authority? Because the person who controls himself, who is his own master, has no need for an authority to be his master. This, then, renders authority unemployed. What is he to do if he cannot control others? To be sure, he could mind his own business. But that is a fatuous answer, for those who are satisfied to mind their own business do not aspire to become authorities." ~ Thomas Szasz
