921- Annexed by the Empire of Gretinil*
1234- Became independent after the Uprising of 1233, Grand Kingdom of Skovi.
1456- Split into the Kingdom of Hamn and the Republic of Skovi (North and South, respectively)
1793- Country is united under the Republic of Skovi, becoming the United States of Gernonai
1840- Conquers islands to the North, bringing in the Golden Age of Gernonai
1927- Golden Age ends
2011- The Constitutional Monarchy of Gernonai is Formed, following an uprising in the country
9/13/2011- The Fascist Republic of Gernonai is formed, after much unrest in the nation
12/4/2011- Fuhrer Ulrich von Hamn declares himself "Fuhrer for life" with approval of the people and the government. The Fascist Empire is born.
6/24/2012- Fuhrer Wilhelm von Hamn introduces a new form of government to Gernonai, the Federal Military Republic

Structure-

Head of state and government: The Fuhrer, elected via a general election throughout the whole nation every 5 years and can serve a maximum of three terms. They dictate matters concerning the nation and government. They are able to veto laws proposed by the Senate.

Commander-In-Chief: Supreme Commander of the Armed forces. Elected by the Supreme Military Council. Serves a life term or until he resigns.

The Supreme Military Council: A council of 12 generals in the military appointed by the Commander-In-Chief. They serve a life term or until they resign and advise both the Fuhrer and the Commander-In-Chief. Are able to veto laws proposed by the Fuhrer.

The Senate: 265 members, elected every 5 years by the people and can serve a maximum of 2 terms. They dictate matters concerning individual provinces as well as the whole nation. Are able to veto laws proposed by the Supreme Military Council.

Supreme Judge: Appointed by the Fuhrer, interprets law and advises the Government on matters concerning law.

Minister of Defense: Appointed by the Fuhrer and is the Commander of the Gernonaise National Guard. Manages matters concerning national defense and security. Advises the Government on military matters and is normally a Commander in the Armed Forces.

Minister of the Navy: Appointed by the Fuhrer and is the Commander of the Gernonaise Coast Guard. Manages naval matters and is normally an Admiral in the Navy.

Minister of Aerial Defense: Appointed by the Fuhrer and is the Commander of the Air Defense Network. Manages aerial matters,

Minister of Foreign Affairs: Appointed by the Fuhrer, creates diplomatic missions, and meetings with world leaders. Advises the Government on diplomatic affairs.

Minister of Economics: Elected by the people in a general election every 7 years and can serve a maximum of 2 terms. Creates economic policy and proposes economic-related laws.

Other Information-

The Supreme Judge must have spent at least two years studying national law in a college or university, and this is proven by a Certificate of Law, that they must bring to the Minister Appointment Ceremony. There are governors of each province, and these are appointed by the Senate and approved by the Fuhrer. The Fuhrer sets a minimum and maximum tax each year, which each province must abide by, but the governors may choose to change it if they need to, as long as it is within the minimum and maximum tax. The Fuhrer also gives the governors budgets each year, with which they use to manage their provinces. The governor’s budgets are also increased with 1.2% of the tax that their province receives. The rest goes to the governmental budget.

Military-

Military service is compulsory for every able-bodied person of 17-26 years of age for at least 3 years. At the end of this period, they can either get a different job, or enlist permanently. Must sign up for compulsory service before the age of 22.

Gernonaise Verteidigungkraft (National Guard), Gernonaise Kommiss (Army), Gernonaise Luftwaffe (Air Force), Gernonaise Kriegsmarine (Navy), Gernonaise Küstenwache (Coast Guard), Gernonaise Besondere Streitkräfte (Special Forces), and Netzwerk der Luftverteidigung (Air Defense Network).

Economic/Social System:

The economic policy of Gernonai is a form of Durnstism, in which the five largest industries are nationalized, while companies with more than 20 workers are owned by elected officials. The remaining companies are owned privately. The five largest industries as of right now are as follows

1. Arms Manufacturing
2. Information Technology
3. Uranium Mining
4. Steel Production
5. Building Material Priduction

The economy is industry-based, with production and manufacturing as the main priorities. Worker Protection laws are in effect to help improve the lives of factory workers, and protect those who are unable to work. The main ones are as follows

*For the purpose of these laws, a factory is described as any building or facility that produces or assembles goods or products.

1. No business owner/director, be it a factory or otherwise, has the right to force any employee to work, and must pay said employees a minimum of 2 Hans/hour.
2. No factory is allowed to have a youth as a worker, however, youths may assist in said factories if they are properly registered for community service. A youth, for the purpose of this law, is described as a being of the age or younger than 15 years of age.
3. All factories must have sufficient safety regulations to protect, to the best of their ability, the well-being of its workers, and all factories are subject to governmental inspection, to assure this law is being upheld.
4. No employee of any factory should work more than a total of 11 hours in a single day, unless they deliver written consent of extra work hours to their factory manager.
5. No factory employee, be it manager or otherwise, may force another employee to give written consent for extra work hours.
6. If a person is unable to work, due to injury, sickness, family crises, or loss of housing, the owner of the business, be it a factory or otherwise, must pay said person a total of 10 Hans/week for at least 15 weeks, or until said person can return to work.
7. When a person reaches the age of 76 years, they are eligible to retire, and, once retired, may receive a payment of 17 Hans/week from the federal government.
8. Any and all persons have a right to federal health care, and may receive said health care if they apply at their local governmental office.

**The federal government reserves the right to alter, suspend, or abolish any and all of these laws.
