The Sovereign Communal Union of Pevisopolis

1 - What is the legal drinking age? Around 17

2 - Driving age? Driving is not used commonly, and therefore there is no recognized minimum driving age. However, starting to Drive is largely considered a Rite of Passage in rural areas, between different communes, and commonly people in these areas start to drive sometime inbetween 13 and 17.

3 - Age of sexual consent? 17

4 - Voting age? Anyone can attend the various Communal Assemblies and vote on issues, however, the average age at which most people start to gain interest in attending these assemblies is around 15.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? - over 15, and only when the Child and Parents/Guardians' consent.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? - "If it grows in the ground and doesn't need to be heavily refined, go right ahead.":
Pot - Yes
Tobaco - Yes
Cocaine - No
Alchohol - Yes
LSD - Yes
Caffiene - Yes
Heorin - No

7 - Can people have guns? - Yes; gun ownership is largely based on need. For instance, if you live in the country and hunt for a living, get a 30.06. If you need to defend your home from robbers, get a 9 mil. If you have the absolute need to shoot out a TV every couple of months or so (OOC, this is like my Boss IRL XD ), get an AK-47.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called? - Formal: The Sovereign Communal Union of Pevisopolis// Informal: Pevisopolis, The Republic, The Union, "That goddamned hippie commune sneer" / Citizens: Comrades.

9 - Do you have the death penalty? - Yes, but it is reserved only for extreme cases when there is absolutely no doubt that the accused is guilty.

10 - What is the speed limit? - Highway: 45 - 80 mph, City: 20 mph. As stated earlier, Driving is rather rare, and even rarer in cities, although a speed limit is used.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? - All are allowed. However, those which are especially violent or practice/have practiced Human Sacrifices are encouraged to adopt a less bloody ritual to replace the sacrifice. Animal Sacrifices may occur, but preferably under humane conditions.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - Yes, although very few talk about it in public

13-Prostitution - Illegal. Prostitution is almost always for the benefit of the Pimp, and therefore exploitation of labor. If, in any case, a woman or man were to sell his/her body to make money, it would be legal, although it is VERY rare, as no one tends to need money to the point they would go to those ends.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - Legal

15-Homosexuality - Legal

16-Stem cell research - Legal

17-Human Cloning - Legal; although uncommon.

18-Cock Fighting? - Legal, although unpopular.

19-Slavery? - ILLEGAL. Slavery is clear and blatant Exploitation of Labor and abuse of Power.

20-Hunting? - Popular in rural areas, and legal.

21-Fishing? - Popular and legal.

22-Eating meat? - LEGAL

23-Littering? - Uncommon, but there are no laws regarding littering, as the majority of Pevisopolis' Citizens are environmentally minded enough not to litter in the first place.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? - Hrmmm?

25-Suicide? - No laws regarding suicide, although Euthanasia is legal.

26 - Gay marriage? - Legal

27-Abortion - Legal

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? - With the exceptions of Rape, Pedophilia, and Necrophilia, all are legal.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? - Wear whatever you want.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? - If so - how would you define "obscene". - ... No. Unless it creates an angry stir at the assemblies, run naked on the tops of buses while shouting/singing "Uncle Fucker" if you somehow feel the need to.

31-What system do you have for taxes? Income tax? Money isn't used on a massive scale; and neither is Taxation within the borders of the Communal Union.

31b Import/Export tax? Any products coming in from a nation or state which uses a standard system of currency is taxed to the advantage of the Union and its People.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? "Citizen" and "Resident" are used interchangeably. If you live in Pevisopolis, you are a citizen.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Anyone who isn't trying to capitalize or exploit the people of the Republic.

34-What type of government are you? A directly democratic, Anarcho-Syndicalist Union of Communes. In essence, a larger, much more technologically advanced form of what Dennis the Communist Peasant is ranting about in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? The government is severely limited, and almost not even a Government per say, and CANNOT censor anyone's work, no matter how stupid or even "Evil" it may be.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have?

Fuck the Rich

Kinkiness is an offshoot of Boredom

Do what you want, as long as it doesn't anger many people.

When in Rome, do whatever the hell you want. Rome isn't anywhere near Pevisopolis.

When in private, MIND YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS.

Marriage isn't an officially recognized institution. Just do whatever you and your spouse want with that. Get married in a Church, just Move In, or get high and haul ass to Qrrbrbirlbel on the back of the Care Bear's infinitely more awesome distant relative, the glorious Urso idfc

If you experience a megalomaniacal desire to rule the world... For the love of Jeebus, don't do it in real life.

The Republic Of Sierra Apathia
1 - What is the legal drinking age? Drinking Alcohol is considered rare, because of the culture here, however, still some people do and we introduced a drinking age, only allowing over 18 years old to be legally drinking.

2 - Driving age? Driving age around here is about 17, because our education system has introduced pre-driving tests so that the youth would be prepared taking real risks.

1 - Legal drinking age? 16, although parents/legal guardians are expected to control and limit the drinking habits of adolescents until adulthood.

2 - Legal driving age? 16

3 - Age of sexual consent 14, although a clause for 'corruption of minors' exists for cases when consent to sexual relations with adolescents between 14 and 18 is obtained by the means of seduction or deceit. The adolescent, however, must fit the definition of 'honest man/woman' (which also includes Lanteanarii citizenship) for the crime to be applied. Also, a lawsuit may only be initiated by either a minor or their parents/legal guardian.

4 - Voting age? Elections have been outlawed. However, citizens at age 18 and above may be offered local advisory offices by the government.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? 18

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? Alcohol, caffeine, tobacco.

7 - Can people have guns? Private gun ownership is strictly prohibited, except when the owner has served in the military and is thus considered a reservist. This has made certain professions more or less exclusive to former soldiers, which is actually a deliberate side-effect intended by the government as a means of 'unofficial reward', although no direct legislation exists.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? The Protectorate of Lanteanar
What is the informal name? Lanteanar, or 'The Protectorate' (regional term)
What are people of your nation called Formal? Lanteanarii

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes - for treason, (attempted) murder of a citizen and repeat offenders or on direct decree by the Lord-Protector. Official death sentences are carried out in public. However, both the military as well as the police forces have been suspected to conduct inofficial executions or let people disappear otherwise.

10 - What is the speed limit? Speed within city limits is generally limited to 50 km/h. As ownership of a car is not yet a widespread phenomenon, the government has not yet implemented a speed limit for roads outside the larger cities.

11 - What types of religions are permitted or restricted? The so-called Trinity cult, a small faith based on a trio of ancient local aspect-deities, has been elevated to state religion in a governmental effort to promote cultural unity and convenient values. Other religions are generally tolerated, but heavily taxed and subject to the obstructive laws of the 'Identity Preservation Act'.

12 - Legality of Porn Legal and no fixed boundaries on content, but a governmental commission reserves the right to control distribution. Porn is classified into three categories, with items of category 'A' being readily available, whereas sale of categories 'B' and 'C' requires special license.

13 - Legality of Prostitution Legal with few regulations and interference, but not publicly tolerated in the capital's governmental district.

14 - Legality of Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory Legal, and actually the only way for a non-citizen to marry a citizen (citizen's first partner, who takes precedence in judicial matters, must also be a citizen).

15 - Legality of Homosexuality Legal.

16/17 - do not apply yet

18 - Legality of Cock Fighting Legal.

19 - Legality of Slavery Legal and classified into penal and debit slavery, with different levels of restrictions. Penal slavery can be hereditary and may also apply to prisoners of war, whereas debit slavery can be ordered by court decision.

20 - Legality of Hunting Legal for citizens.

21 - Legality of Fishing Legal for citizens.

22 - Legality of Meat-Consumption Legal.

23 - Legality of Littering Illegal within city limits, not regulated elsewhere yet.

24 - Legality of Unisex Bathrooms Legal and common in the military, though uncommon in civilian life.

25 - Legality of Suicide Euthanasia has recently been legalized.

26 - Legality of Homosexual Unions Legal, though the government allows each cleric active on Lanteanarii soil to decide for him- or herself whether to bless such a union or not.

27 - Legality of Abortion Legal. Adolescents below the age of 14 may be checked in by their parents/legal guardian, otherwise the ultimate decision always rests with the pregnant individual.

28 - What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal? None, as long as mutual consent has been declared and both parties fulfill the age requirement. The basis of consent may be omitted for slaves, although such activities are then limited to 'proper intercourse'.

29 - Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? Optional for residents, mandatory for government officials.

30 - Do you have obscenity laws? Primary sexual characteristics have to remain covered at all times. Intercourse and similar activities are generally prohibited. These laws apply to all public spaces, with the exception of nightclubs.

31 - What system do you have for taxes? Tiered income tax (also depending on social class), high import tax on non-essential products (governmental definition).

32 - What is the criteria for someone to become a citizen? Basic citizenship is hereditary, but may also be attained by 10 years of military service and subsequent exam or (under special circumstance) by governmental decree.

33 - What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Tourists may attain a flat 2-weeks-visa by paying a fee. The visa may be renewed once for another 2 weeks, if the applicant is able to produce viable reason. Immigrants must either possess significant personal wealth or produce an employment contract with a Lanteanarii company viable for a minimum of 1 year, and work for a minimum of 10 consecutive years in the country or be deported. Illegal immigrants are summarily sentenced to penal slavery.

34 - What type of government are you? Militaristic dictatorship of single leader assisted by advisory council of influential officials, fascist tendencies. Regional control is in hands of feudal lords (central government authorizes inheritance on individual basis, nobility usually 'awarded' in recognition of military service or civil/corporate influence).

35 - To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? Lanteanar's single TV station is effectively owned by the government, which reserves the right to interfere with the TV program as well as the program of the three private radio stations as per the 'Identity Preservation Act' or by the Lord-Protector's decree.

36 - Aside from laws, what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? Stay true to your word. Marry within your own social class. No public degradation of privately owned slaves.

1 - What is the legal drinking age? There is no real "age", but everyone must obtain a permit to consume alcohol before they can legally drink. Typically, nobody under 25 succeeds at the tests to obtain a permit.

2 - Driving age? Just like Alcohol, but typical age is 18.

3 - Age of sexual consent? Nobody is allowed to engage in sexual intercourse without obtaining a license, and nobody under 18 is even considered to receive one. This is to prevent the spread of undesirable genes (Communists and the like are denied permits), STDs, and unwanted pregnancy. And yet another license is needed to have a baby without the child being taken by the government (Usually to be placed in the S.T.F. Training Program.)

4 - Voting age? There is no voting. Democracy is a virus.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? - 20, but can apply for emancipation beforehand.

- Other? None.

7 - Can people have guns? Most certainly, for their aid is needed for civil defense when the Communists and Democracies try to invade.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called Formal: The Fascist Federation of the Grand World Order// Informal: GWO, Naziland (Derogatory), the Order, the Grand Order, the Grand World Order / Citizens: Orderites, Orderians, Fascists, Federals, Grand Federals.

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes

20-Hunting? Very popular - there is actually considered too much wildlife outside of the cities. The thing is, is that some areas are simply too dangerous to hunt in.

21-Fishing - Saltwater fishing is very popular, but freshwater isn't.

22-Eating meat? Those who don't eat meat are called "Liberal faggots" by society.

23-Littering? Small fines and pissed off cops are the result of littering. Naturally, littering is low except for in lower-class parts of cities.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? Rare.

25-Suicide? - Rare - Euthanasia / Right to Death with Diginity - Legal, but the government oversees all applications.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Anyone but Communists, Political Rights Activists, Anarchists. The government reserves the right to deny anyone entry for any reason.

34-What type of government are you? Fascist Military-controlled Autocracy.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - Illegal between citizens, but a male owner can maintain relations with any and all female slaves all that he wants without facing any repercussions.

16-Stem cell research - See 17 as it is the same.

17-Human Cloning - Only for slaves, doing to a citizen leads to the pyre.

18-Cock Fighting? No Animal Cruelty Laws, so it is legal.

19-Slavery? -Legal in and shapes and forms. In fact, any non-Catholic or non-protect person can be made the property of the person who turns them overs to the police.

20-Hunting? Go nuts, they have no activists in the Scandinvan Empire.

21-Fishing You can do whatever the hell you want to fish, you can even go fishing for them with depth charges.

22-Eating meat? Legal, and any attempt to protest such events, beyond the Church doing so, will get an individual flogged.

23-Littering? Perfectly on public property because the sales tax pays for slaves to clean up litter.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? Punishable by drowning.

25-Suicide? - Very Rare -

26 - Gay marriage? - Punishable by impalement.

27-Abortion - Illegal.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? Homosexuality is illegal, but all other types of relations are basically legal.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? Optional in day to day events, but at certain festivals and ceremonies it is required.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". Yes, but they are defined on a fairly random occruance by the Scandinvan Catholic Church.

31-What system do you have for taxes? 10%, as all God demands is a tithe.

31aSales tax? 5%

31bImport/Export tax? None.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? Father and mother must both be citizens, or have lived in the Empire for three generations with all Scandinvan resident male ancestors served in the Imperial Armed Forces.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Must be approved by a Scandinvan Immigration Committee, or be from an allied nation or be identified as a friend of the empire.

We are the Glorious Empire of the Scandinvans. Surrender or be destroyed. Your civilization has ended, your time is over. Your people will be assimilated into our Empire. Your technological distinctiveness shall be added to our own. Your culture shall be supplanted by our own. And your lands will be made into our lands.

"For five thousand years has our Empire endured. In war and peace we have thrived. Against overwhelming odds we evolved. No matter what we face we have always survived and grown. We shall always be triumphant." -Emperor Godfrey II

1 - What is the legal drinking age? None, although public drunkeness is highly stigmatized socially, alcohol is almost impossible to get outside of public events, and consumption of alcohol anywhere but at public events is also highly stigmatized. Basically nobody drinks except for public events, where anybody can drink.

2 - Driving age? Must be able to vote. Technical age is 14. Realistic restrictions mean you must be a current or former militia member, or a member of the armed forces.

3 - Age of sexual consent? 14.

4 - Voting age? 14, technicly. Must be a citizen. Must have served a minimum one year in the militia, or be an active member. Members of the regular armed forces, Army, Navy, or Republican Guard, may not vote while serving. Militia service is highly popular though.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? - Legally 14. Although if they're 40 and still living with their parents, they're under parental control.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? -None. Very illegal.

-Pot - Punished with a nasty prison sentence. Possession of large amounts can be executed for.

- Tobacco - See pot.

- Cocaine - See pot.

-Alcohol - legal for public events. Not illegal for private use, but highly stigmatized and discouraged. Drunkenness can be punished with prison, depending on the circumstances and severity.

- LSD - See pot.

- Caffeine - See pot.

- Heroin - See pot.

- Other? Recreational drugs are highly stigmatized for historical reasons, and are therefor illegal.

7 - Can people have guns? With the proper license, yes. And licenses are easy to attain for small fees and passing of tests.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called
- conventional long form: The Dictorial Republic of Sumer
- conventional short form: Sumer
- local long form: Ale Namenashira Nameshbarkingdu Kalamake
- local short form: Kalam

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes

10 - What is the speed limit? None. Although cars are almost non-existent within cities, and those that are are electric and restricted by the speed of pedestrian traffic around it. Highways between cities have no speed limit, and often see high-speed traffic from those people who buy cars.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? Technically all are permitted. The Sumerian religion is the religion of the state though, and the majority inhabitants. Proselytism is illegal, and thus foreign religions have a hard time setting up due both to lack of native members, and lack of interest on the part of Sumerians in very different foreign religions.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - Legal. Even used religiously.

13-Prostitution - Legal only under the control of a temple. Severly self-regulated because of this.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - Legal and common.

15-Homosexuality - Legal and common. Most Sumerian women are bisexual due to cultural beliefs on sex before marriage.

16-Stem cell research -Legal, but regulated.

17-Human Cloning - Not even considered a factor, but heavily regulated if it were ever to be attempted within Sumer.

18-Cock Fighting? - Chickens are not common in Sumer due to the climate, but mistreatment of animals is illegal.

19-Slavery? -Illegal, unless you count the prison system.

20-Hunting? - Legal and popular. Although regulated, and it is culturally considered proper only if you use the carcass for something not just a trophy. Lots of hunting for food year round.

21-Fishing - Legal, with a cheap license. More expensive licenses, tests, and regulation for commercial fishing.

22-Eating meat? - A fact of Sumerian life.

23-Littering? - Not technically illegal, although rare to non-existent due to cultural and climate considerations.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? - The norm.

25-Suicide? - Regulated, but legal for someone who will die anyway.

26 - Gay marriage? - Legal.

27-Abortion - Legal, not considered any different then other minor procedures, and not socially stigmatized.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? - Rape and pedophilia cary a very nasty, sometimes shoot-on-sight, death penalty. But between two consenting adults, who cares? Culturally most girls must stay virgins to marriage, and boys are encouraged to have sex before marriage, in heterosexual relationships. It's complicated.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? Optional outside of formal affairs, in a legal sense. The climate however dictates it mandatory.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". - Not really, but then again there are no laws for hitting someone who insults you, within reason.

31-What system do you have for taxes? - Personal income taxes and service taxes on a sliding scale. Sales taxes only on luxury goods. No business income taxes. Property taxes are one time 32% on the appraised value of the property at time of purchase, not on cost of purchase.

31aSales tax? - 10% on luxury (Non-essential) items, must be included in the advertised price.

31bImport/Export tax? Depends on relations with the nation, the item, and the parties directly involved.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? - Minimum one year of service in the militia as a permanent resident, then two tests spaced four months apart.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? - Anyone who doesn't pass customs. No or fake passport, smugglers, people involved in otherwise illegal activity in Sumer, the likes. Also foreign military personnel when invading or at a state of war, with special exemption for treaty talks.

34-What type of government are you? Dictorial Republic. I'm tired of explaining, it's not autocratic.

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? Not at all.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? For example – Oh the gods, don't ask. It's complicated. Just remember, sex is very open, the climate is hot as hell, and Sumerians are not always liking of foreigners.

Re: National Standards Questionaire

Postby Schrodinger Catu » Mon Jun 08, 2009 7:24 pm

From: The Desk of the Spiritual Underchair
To: The International Community
Regarding:

The Theocracy of Schrodinger Catu- National Standards

1 - What is the legal drinking age? There is no current age at which one can legally drink. One must be of at least bar-counter height however to purchase alcohol.

2 - Driving age? Driving age is an obtuse idea in Schrodinger Catu. Only the elite (i.e. those in direct employ of our Most Glorious Goddess and Empress, or her Holy Seer, Guru Al-Apopishon) are currently legally able to drive fuel consuming vehicles. All other residents may use the common mode of day-to-day travel via the common mule at any age.

3 - Age of sexual consent? With current laws and by-laws regarding public nudity in Schrodinger Catu, it is of no surprise that from time to time public acts of what some might consider a sexual nature occur. Once the spiritual advisers to a particular family (much like some of the other "physicians" that care for families in other countries) have declared an adolescent of a child bearing age, no further repercussions would be taken against an individual partaking in any act with said willing participant.

4 - Voting age? Because the glorious citizens of Schrodinger Catu have had this troubling onus taken off of our delicate shoulders by our Most Holy Empress, we no longer have to regulate this arcane practice.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? - Adult is a term loosely used once one had reached both the age of child bearing, as well as a general consensus by his or her family and spiritual adviser regarding their cognitive state.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? - All drugs are legal, however there is a public sense of decorum with use.

-Pot - Widely used and accepted. Acceptable to use while working, while in religious observance, or during recreational activities.

- Tobacco - Is a less common and vulgar practice typically utilized by LMI citizens who cannot afford other drugs.

- Cocaine -Legal and popular with Schrodinger Catu's emerging middle class.

-Alcohol - legal, but less preferred to pot.

- LSD - Legal and widely used during religious holidays.

- Caffeine -Popular with the Furniture Restoration Workers Union.

- Heroin - Legal and typically consumed through burning or smoking- needles are seen as vulgar and distasteful by the general populous.

7 - Can people have guns? All citizens of our Theocracy are legally armed at adulthood and trained extensively in defensive combat.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called Formal: The Theocracy of Schrodinger Catu / SCt (abbrv)/ Catushians.

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes

10 - What is the speed limit? All mules must be subjugated at any time to weight testing, which does limit top speed to somewhere around 17-20 / kph

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? Worship lies in the Spiritual Center of One's Self- and may be called by and and all names, as is taught by our Guru. Free-speech is a blessing among Catushians, granted by our most Serene and Holy Empress and Goddess. Whatever name we choose to give to her enlightenment is welcome and honored.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - images of pediphillia & rape are frowned upon, but legal.

13-Prostitution - Taxed, but legal.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory -Legal- but these practices generally hold themselves solely for religious reasons, and so do not represent well in day to day life.

15-Homosexuality - Sexual Identity is sacrosanct and a legal right as granted by our Holy Empress.

16-Stem cell research -This technology is unknown in SCt.

17-Human Cloning - Also an unknown technology.

18-Cock Fighting? There is no precedence for this practice.

19-Slavery? -Indentured servitude is not unheard of. There are some "blue laws" regarding slavery, but widely not known for adherence.

20-Hunting? Legal, but due to our Nation's drug and nudity laws it is heavily regulated.

21-Fishing - A favorite National pastime, as we may use its ends to feed our National Animal.

22-Eating meat? Vegetarianism is known in some Spiritual circles. Eating meat is perfectly legal, as we take our cues from our National Animal.

23-Littering? Is unheard of- but no laws stand for or against.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? Do exist in more enlightened areas- and are a requirement in buildings of State.

25-Suicide? -All rights to life and death are Sacrosanct- as is choice regarding one's time of demise.

26 - Gay marriage? -Marriages are common between all persons of any Sexual Identity.

27-Abortion - Is rare, but yes, it is legal. It must be approved in some cases by our Holy Seer- particularly if the child has had an augury of some import.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? The rape of children can carry a death sentence.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? Clothing is optional.

1 - What is the legal drinking age? 14 w/ parental consent, 16 otherwise

2 - Driving age? 16, most don't get it until much later, and testing is extremely harsh, and expensive. Your permit costs 1,000 Marques, and the renewal fee is 200 Marques every 2 years, and includes a written exam. Because of this, most people just buy a public transportation pass.

3 - Age of sexual consent? 16

- Tobacco - Legal, common, but taxed more than pot.

- Cocaine - Legal, highly taxed

- Alcohol - Legal, and common

- LSD - Legal, and highly taxed

- Caffeine - Legal, common

- Heroin - Legal, highly taxed

It is legal for employers to discriminate based on recreational drug use, and rehab is freely available, and extremely harsh. Once you sign up, you are locked in a dark room until you go through withdrawal. Afterwards, you can choose to be randomly tested, and if you fail, you can be legally kidnapped by orderlies, and brought back.

11 - What types of religions are permitted? Any, although there is no state religion. Atheism is most common, Catholicism is a large second, Lutheranism comes in third, with various religions also represented as less than 5% of the population. People in general aren't very religious, and evangelism is a crime once someone asks you to stop. Religion is viewed as a private matter, and discussing it publicly, let alone proselytism, is considered a faux pas

22-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? Public nudity is legal, although social rules on when it's proper exist. The People's Republic of Letat

1 - What is the legal drinking age? 18

2 - Driving age? 15-18, varying by province. As many as 40% of Letatians do not have a license, preferring the use of a bicycle and public transportation, which is very efficent.

3 - Age of sexual consent? 16

4 - Voting age? 18

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? The Letatian age of majority is 18.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? - After receiving a medical clearance of physical maturity, no substance is illegal, though all production is controlled by a Popular Directorate, a sort of public-private hybrid enterprise common in Letat. PoD Narcoprod is required to label all of its products and to make information readily available about the safe and responsible use of its products. Pricing and availability is set partially by international demand, as PoD Narcoprod exports much of its crop. The Letatian government firmly opposes the sale of Letatian narcotics in nations where those substances are illegal, and violators are severely punished. There are consternations that Letatian foreign policy is unduly influenced by PoD Narcoprod, ever aiming to reduce the number of supplier states while advocating worldwide legalization of recreational drugs. Private, "personal use" cultivation is permitted, but cultivators must register with PoD Narcoprod.

Using drugs in a manner that endangers the public (i.e. driving under the influence of marijuana or alcohol) is an offense of medium severity.

-Pot - cheap, legal and popular. Narcoprod sells in three intensity classes, Class III being simply faaaantastic. Marijuana use is embedded in a cultural framework that encourages its use as a communal, relaxing activity that is not particularly unusual or rebellious.

- Tobacco - enjoys consistent popularity. While Narcoprod publishes the ingredients in their cigarettes on every pack, and the public is well-aware of the dangers of smoking (as they are for the use of any substance), the government does not consider it a prerogative to dissuade its citizens from tobacco use.

- Cocaine - Legal, but with limited legal foreign demand, PoD Narcoprod finds large-scale production unprofitable. The small amounts that are produced are expensive relative to other substances and substance-users tend towards others that are more readily available.

-Alcohol - legal and very popular, though embedded within a cultural framework that regards alcohol, like marijuana, as a normal part of communal relations.

- LSD - Legal. Foreign demand is limited, but domestic demand is modest, keeping LSD and other hallucinogenics readily available.

- Caffeine - Legal, of course. What kind of nation runs without coffee? PoD Narcoprod does not produce caffeine pills, however, and the National Customs and Port Authority does not import them.

- Heroin - Given the general demand internationally for medical morphine, opium derivatives are readily available. Heroin per se is more expensive than recreational morphine, but available - if not particularly popular.

- Other? Citizens are free to use whatever substances they choose so long as they do not endanger others, and the government mandates that the public be informed as to all the effects of a given substance.

7 - Can people have guns? Ownership is a right of the citizens. As recent victors of a revolution against Letat's tyrannical monarch, many citizens have private arms and many communities - particularly those where pro-republican sentiment was strong - maintain Citizens' Reserves, a hidden cache of weapons that the volunteer Community Guard may distribute in times of national crisis, such as invasion.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called Formal: The People's Republic of Letat// Informal: The People's Republic, the Republic, or Letat / Citizens: Letatians

9 - Do you have the death penalty? No.

10 - What is the speed limit? National highway speed limits are 120k/h, cities usually hold a limit of 60k/h, and residential areas may be as low as 40k/h. Given, however, that Letat has a high-speed rail system and a growing network of public bicycles, long-distance travel is likely to be accomplished via these means rather than automobile.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? Religion is permitted, though the government encourages the attitude that it is a matter of private choice with no place in the nation's political sphere. The state taxes faith communities, offering deductions for funds used for non-proselytizing charitable purposes. The government reserves the right to ban faiths regarded as coercive or dangerous to the Community.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - Legal and regulated by the Popular Directorate for Adult Entertainment (PoD Adenter). PoD Adenter guarantees a decent wage for "models" and ensures that all acts depicted are in line with the - admittedly liberal - laws of Letat. PoD Adenter maintains an investigative division known as Prevex (Division for the Prevention of Exploitative Practices), to root out and break up independent operations not in keeping with Adenter's regulations

13-Prostitution - Regulated by PoD Adenter. Prevex is similarly charged with the task of identifying and ending exploitative prostitution.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - While Letat does not regulate the sexual practices of its citizens, Polygamy is not legally sanctioned either, mostly because of the complicated legislation it is presumed to entail. Bilateral civil unions, on the other hand, do receive certain benefits and legal protections.

15-Homosexuality - Homosexual bilateral civil unions are permitted, and the uncoerced sexual preferences of its citizens are not under the authority of the Letatian government.

16-Stem cell research - Permitted, though not directly funded by the government, which focuses primarily on infrastructure, education, and social programs.

17-Human Cloning - Not within the technical capacities of Letat

18-Cock Fighting? - Would fall under the purview of Animal Cruelty regulations at Community and Federal levels. It is generally outlawed, and transit of animals for purposes of cockfighting from a community where it is legal to one where it is illegal and vice versa would be a prosecutable medium-severity offense on both Community and Federal levels.

19-Slavery? Illegal. Forced labor is employed within the penal system to rehabilitate medium- and high-severity offenders, but is considered a form of paid labor as laborers do receive penal scrip valid to purchase certain leisures in federal detention centers and spouses may receive remuneration from the State during the incarceration of their loved one.

20-Hunting? Heavily regulated at the Federal level, which regards the need to preserve the biodiversity and natural beauty of Letat a primary concern. The Federal Ministry of the Environment evaluates each province every three years for biodiversity and then publishes a "Quotas and Seasons" report, detailing the number of hunting permits each province may issue and the maximum permissible length of hunting seasons. Poaching is a medium-severity offense, punishable by detention and forced labor.

21-Fishing - Fishing is regulated and controlled by PoD Seafood Collection (Seacoll), organized as independent fishers operating under the oversight of the Ministry of the Environment in order to keep fish stocks plentiful.

22-Eating meat? While relatively few Letatians are strict vegetarians, they tend to eat little meat. The Ministry of Agriculture gently encourages vegetarianism via public relations, while the Ministry of the Environment's water taxes favor less water-intensive vegetable and grain agriculture over animal agriculture.

23-Littering? Littering is an offense of minor severity, usually punished by one day of community service spent cleaning up litter.

24-Unisex bathrooms? In government buildings, yes. In PoD buildings, this is usually decided by the staff.

25-Suicide? While the government guarantees psychological counseling and encourages citizens to seek it out rather than commit to an irreversible course of action, suicide is legal, and there is a considerable body of legislation dealing with the rendering of debts left by the deceased and the payout of benefits to his or her survivors. Euthanasia is permitted.

26 - Gay marriage? - Yes.

27-Abortion - Happens Very, Very Rarely, mostly for medical/ therapeutic reasons. But most medical problems can be dealt with by the Dominations highly advanced medical technology.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? Nonconsensual, coercive, and pedophilic sex are forbidden even within the bounds of a marriage.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? There is no national dress code. Public nudity is permitted, though frowned upon culturally, and PoDs usually enforce dress codes in their facilities.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". - No.

31-What system do you have for taxes?
- Income taxes are fairly steep, ranging from 60-90% in total between Federal, provincial, and community taxes depending on paygrade, with a strong emphasis on the notion that the government is paid well because it provides well.

31aSales tax? Not technically. The partial federal and communal ownership of Popular Directorates effectively incorporates some level of sales tax into all products as negotiated PoD by PoD.

31bImport/Export tax? Usually a nominal Customs fee of around 1%

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? Letat acknowledges "Right of Blood" and "Right of Soil" citizenship. Additionally, foreign nationals may be considered naturalized after living in Letat for a period of five years and passing a Federal citizenship examination.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Letat regards itself as an asylum for the oppressed, and thus welcomes the persecuted. Letat rarely extradites criminals unless the law their behavior would have been considered criminal in Letat as well. Letat will not extradite a suspect to a government that carries out capital punishment without first receiving a guarantee that said suspect will not be executed.

34-What type of government are you? Democratic Republic, emphasizing a federation of communities rather than provinces, with strong leanings towards democratic socialism.

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? While the government maintains fairly draconian anti-falsehood laws, in practice courts err on the side of free speech over censorship.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? Certain areas of Letat are more conservative than others, especially the royalist strongholds of the Conservative Party for Justice and the Fatherland. People in these areas tend to be more introverted and mistrustful of outsiders, including Letatians from the pro-Republican urban areas.

Letatians love flowers, and an extensive and subtle code of species and coloration gives off various meanings. Thus, though Letatians will often be viewed with flowers of various species tucked into pockets, buttonholes, or caps, foreigners are advised not to do so unless they understand what their particular choice of coding means. Woe be to the traveller who tucks a white daffodil into his collar and a red rose in the back of his cap by flight of whimsy unless he's willing to debate passers-by on the merits of expanding the North Letat National Wilderness Reserve and offering the endangered resident tropical polar bears nominal voting rights. Better to identify yourself as a tourist so the locals won't expect that you have much to say. A tourist might also wear a red rose in his or her breast pocket and expect to be left in relative peace for the most part - this signifies a mild patriotic nostalgia for the Revolution and is usually well received.

PoD facilities - and thus much of the national economy - shut down on Sundays and close early on Saturdays.
