New Olwe's Embassy Program

[New Olwe]

(OOC: I'm working on getting a factbook thread up, but it's a monumental task and I don't really have time set aside for it yet. However, I will provide information here that anyone establishing an embassy will need to know.)

For those who don't already know, New Olwe is famous for the free and open sexuality of its people. Please keep this in mind when requesting an embassy, because otherwise you might take offense to the behavior of our citizens when they interact with your diplomatic and/or security staff.

Also, in order to avoid international incidents sparked by citizens challenging diplomatic staff to duels, it is required in New Olwe for all diplomats to wear patches on their clothing marking them as diplomats. This way, even the most thick-headed of common citizens will be able to tell you have diplomatic immunity just by looking at you.

Last, but definitely not least, raiders who maliciously attack and invade other regions are not welcome in New Olwe. Don't even bother applying.

Note on buildings vs. open spaces: If you would prefer, your embassy can be a stretch of unchecked wilderness near Embassy Row. This is an accommodation that we're making mostly for nations ruled by Talking Beasts, but anyone can specify an "open embassy" under the Special Requests section of their application. Any embassy that has a building attached to it will automatically be reinforced against attack and supplied with high-speed internet.

You're right, in your particular case asking for a military alliance is like asking you to turn the sky blue... it's pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point that we'll continue to back each other up.

Yes to both questions, though it may help your cause to stock our libraries with literature on the Holy Bottle so that people who are curious about it can read more... letting them decide for themselves will make them like and respect you more than trying to forcibly convert them.
