Post counts reset?

I had about 200 posts a couple of minutes ago. It appears to be down to 3 again.

I'm not sure whether this was intentional, but since it's not affecting everyone, I assume it's a bug.

Sounds like a bug to me; I just noticed this as well. I'll bring it up next time I see an admin on.

I just resynchronized post counts across the forum :p Sometimes things get a little out of whack and deleted posts don't register as -1 on your post count. I imagine quite a bit of it is from before I readjusted Forum 7 to not count toward your post counts.

No, something else is wrong. Hiddenrun, for example, got reset to zero and it's not like 100% of his posts come from F7. In fact, I'm not sure he's posted there at all. Mine went down to 113, and I have certainly not posted in F7 400 times.

I've posted on Forum 7 about five times, I think. Most of my 240-odd posts were from II or NSG.

I also had my post count reset to 0, and I've only posted in F7 two or three times. Definitely not right.

Unless posts are actually physically disappearing (which might be bad, since old posts can be useful for reference), is the little number that important?

It's not, I guess, but in the interests of maintaining forum functionality we're trying to figure out what's wrong anyway. The posts still show up if you look into someone's history, they just aren't being counted correctly.

And it appears that the cure was to run the damn resync thing a second time.
