Before I start off with my plan, I am compelled to let everyone know that although this is a "new nation," I am a veteran NationStates player.
Now, I had this idea for a role-play. An oppressive, dictatorship/authoritarian nation rules over the nation of Voltorion and has for many many many many years. They founded Voltorion and raised it since the early 18th century. Until just recently, there had been no problems with the rule of the motherland.
However, as democracy continued to rise in popularity, the Voltorion people increasingly expected a democracy to be instated in the colony, but it never came. That, along with an increasingly tighter and more oppressive grip from the motherland, eventually created a rebellion force with the support of 65% of all Voltorion people.
The year is 2011. The protests are becoming more violent, and they've been going on for about 20 years now. War seems unavoidable.
So, if anyone is interested post reply with a good-sized paragraph describing your nation, your leader, your government, and your current territories etc etc. You may "apply" to be the oppressor, a nation that wants to help Voltorion, an ally of the oppressor, or an ally of the oppressor that sides with Voltorion.
I'm looking forward to a good role-play, so don't hesistate to apply!
