Two possible Glitches:

Postby Topid » Tue Aug 25, 2009 5:47 pm

1)
On the page "The World" that has the world factbook standings of all the nations and links to the list of regions and nations, where normally the number of nations online is it said this:

"Currently online: connect [/home/nation/tmp/sessionsock2] error: Connection refused."

^That may be connected to another problem though, because at the same time I accessed this page the evil log-out-your-nation-even-though-you-have-just-logged-in-and-shouldn't-be-timed-out-yet-glitch occured. So Vi, if those two glitches were connected, does that help you. (There may be no connection, I'm being logged off for no reason so often now that it can easily be a coincidence. :( )

But if it means anything, when I went back and the log out glitch did NOT happen, the nations online was working normally. So maybe...

2)
There is a password Icon on the page of Feudal Japan that shows it's passworded even though it is not. So if no one else has pointed that out (I'm guessing someone did) it should probably be fixed to prevent confusion...

That could very well be the cause of the mysterious logging out bug. It's worth investigating. As for the icon, that should be an easy fix, but I'm going out now. I'll get it later tonight if nobody beats me to it.

Okay. Thanks for both!

I really really hope you slay whatever beast is logging out our poor nations. ;)

I figured the icon let you know that the region was passworded, with the Liberation overriding that password. Thus repeal of the Liberation will give you a locked region. But no icon works too.

"locked", or just "lockable"?
Will repealing a 'Liberation' actually restore the old password, rather than just (as I think people have been presuming) make it possible for the Delegate to set a new one?

Regional controls show that the password is still on: http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/ind ... al%20japan

That would mean that if the resolution is repealed, the password would come back into effect. However, the password can be removed while the liberation resolution is still in effect (even though the password doesn't do anything) - the delegate of Belgium did that.
