Geography
Image

Rough Outline
The Kangaroo Republic borders Genericspacefillertopia to the south and west, The kingdom of Kaestmus to the east and it borders the Great Northern Ocean to the north. The nation has a flat landscape in the north but to the south lie the Meztaukar mountains and Inbruk mountains, the south-eastern portion of the nation is moderately flat and is mostly dry.

Climate
It experiences a pleasant humid subtropical climate in the north but has an alpine climate in the southern mountains, the south-east approaches a desert climate as this portion of land is located on the leeward side of the mountains, the desert is known as the Zebdae desert.
Below are a number of climate charts, the Y-values on the left are for the temperatures, the Y-values on the right are for precipation. The lines represent precipation and the collumns represent temperature (OOC: Yeah, I know it looks awkward, I mixed the two up.)

Forests
There's a decent number of forests, notably the weztwud, the largest forest of the Kangaroo Republic which is located near the west coast, the Ardenezwud, located at the foothills of the Inbruk mountains, Ivernewud, located in the center of the nation sandwiched between the two largest lakes of the kangaroo republic, Turav lake and Mizge lake and Wudarwud, a forest located in the far-east of the nation. Forests in the Kangaroo republic are predominantly Broadleaf evergreen forests, however, the Ardenezwud is an Evergreen needleleaf forest.

Rivers
There's numerous rivers that flow through the kangaroo republic. The Dozmae springs in the Meztaukar mountains, where it is quickly joined by numerous smaller side rivers, it flows further northwards, through the heart of the city of Arhe, it is then joined by yet another unnamed side river before eventually branching out into a delta and flowing into the ocean. The Turav starts from Turav lake and flows northwards for a short distance before flowing into the ocean. The Davare springs in the southern foothills. It then proceeds on flowing northwards like all the other rivers. It then passes the Dehann dam following by Dehann city itself, after that it passes Nezanni and gets to Mizge lake, from Mizge lake it continues northwards where it joins the Kodak before ending into the sea. The Kodak springs in the Inbruk mountains and it is the largest river of the Kangaroo Republic. The eastern-most river is the Jokinn, it starts from a lake at a height of roughly 800 meters it then flows northwards, through the heart of Riviruz, the capital of the Kangaroo Republic and brances out into a small delta before flowing into the ocean.

Mountains
The heighest point of the Kangaroo Republic is the Kipez peak, which is situated 5312 meters above sea level in the inbruk mountain range. There are numerous other large mountains located in the Inbruk mountains, including Dezandu Peak (5115 m), Azin Peak (4663 m) and Ikimaz peak (4488 m). The largest mountain in the Meztaukar mountains is Azann peak at 3107 meters above sea level.

Flora and Fauna
The Kangaroo Republic is a large nation and as such, it has a very large flora and fauna, as stated before, most forests in The Kangaroo Republic are Broadleaf evergreen forests. However, most of the kangaroo republic is grassland with many different types of grasses and flowers growing in the area. There's also a varied fauna, Koalas can often be found in the forests as well as many other animals that are native to areas with humid subtropical and mediterranean climates. Predators also roam the lands, most notably hawks, bears, wolves and dingoes, the latter pose a severe threat to the citizens of the Kangaroo Republic and reports of Dingo attacks have increased by 15% over the past years. Below is a map showing the sites of fatal dingo attacks in 2010, notice how the sites are clustered in the Weztwud, The Central Lands and The West of Dazu'akba.

History

The Four Nations
Before the foundation of the Federation of The Kangaroo Republic, the land was divided into 4 different countries which now form the modern-day districts of the nation. These 4 countries were known as Daevern, Barzavia, Inbruk and Vedorn. Each ruled by a different species of sapient kangaroo. The Western Grey Kangaroos lived in Daevern, The Antilopine Kangaroos in Barzavia, The Red Kangaroos in Inbruk and the Eastern Grey Kangaroos lived in Vedorn.

Border skirmishes would often occur between the 4 nations, the rivalry between the 4 nations were great, each of the nations saw their own species as supreme over the other, even though they did share the same language and generally followed the same religion. The rivalry became a ticking time bomb and it would only become a matter of time before it would all escalate to a severe point.

The Kaestmus Advance
In the year 1492, a human kingdom located in the east, known as the kingdom of Kaestmus, took advantage of the rivalry between the 4 kingdoms and began expansion towards the west. The Kaestmusian army was strong and well organized and as most of the soldiers of Inbruk and Vedorn, both bordering Kaestmus, were focused on the protection of the west border with the kingdom of Barzavia, the east border was relatively unprotected and in the first few days of this war, the Kaestmus army advanced with only moderate resistance.

As a response to the Kaestmus advance, both Inbruk and Vedorn formed a coalition to fight back this strong opponent. The Army of Vedorn sent thousands of soldiers to the frontline to hold back the Kaestmus advance. The army of Inbruk on the other hand was much weaker than that of Vedorn and it relied mostly on Vedornian aid to hold back the Kaestmus advance.

It was therefore no surprise that Kaestmus managed to gain the most terrain in the south, against Inbruk. Ardaeko Havøn, Inbruk's only port city, fell within little than a week and the Kaestmusian army continued to march further. The fighting shifted to the Zebdae desert. The Inbrukians were much more familiar to the unforgiving climate of the Zebdae desert and this gave them some advantage against the Kaestmus army.

The Inbrukian soldiers conducted raids and ambushes on the Kaestmusian army that continued to advance through the Zebdae desert. However, their main focus lied further north where more Kaestmusian forces were directly threatening the capital of Inbruk, Dazu'akba.

An advance northward from the Kaestmusian soldiers would mean that the capital of Inbruk would become encircled. As such, the Inbrukian soldiers fighting in the Zebdae desert fought hard to stop any advances northward by the Kaestmusian soldiers. The frequent desert raids by the enthusiastic Inbrukian soldiers were successful and the Kaestmusian soldiers who had to advance northward to encircle Dazu'akba ran out of supplies in the desert. Many of them eventually perished of thirst while the Inbrukians, being red kangaroos, were much more used to such dry climates.

Meanwhile, in the north, the Vedornian soldiers were successful in holding back the Kaestmus army and the northern front grinded to a halt after 7 years of fighting. In the south, the Kaestmusian army simply could not encircle Dazu'akba. While further north, they had regiments directly threatening Dazu'akba. Without the extra forces to attack this city from the south, they would surely take heavy losses if they tried to attack this city.

The nation of Kaestmus was forced to stop its advance into Inbruk as it did not make progress anymore. A treaty was signed in 1504 by the leaders of Inbruk and Kaestmus. The nation of Kaestmus gained jurisdiction over the lands which they managed to take over. Much to the displeasure of Inbruk. But with Dazu'akba lying under direct threat by Kaestmus, they had no choice.

The fighting between Vedorn and Kaestmus ended 2 years later, in 1506, as both nations did not see any point in continuing the war as the frontline was completely static.

The Great War
The hatred between Barzavia, Inbruk, Vedorn and Daevern reached it's highest point during the great war which lasted from 1729 to 1794, it started when the new ruler of Barzavia, King Gudav V, a fierce nationalist declared war on the three other nations, he had built up a massive army and started a war on two fronts. At the west front, Barzavia fought against Daevern and on the east front it fought against the nations of Vedorn and Inbruk. While Vedorn and Daevern both had strong armies, Inbruk had a weak army which was mostly made up of militia.

Barzavia managed to gain a lot of terrain in the west and in the south-east, against Daevern and Inbruk respectively. Vedorn on the other hand had lost little terrain except at the northern coastline where Barzavia's navy had the upper hand. However, further south it seemed that Vedorn even gained terrain.

While west front had come to a halt at the border of the Weztwud, where Daevernian skirmishers successfully managed to hold terrain through the use of ambushes, the east front continued remaining fluid. A fatal flaw in the war strategy of Inbruk was to have their soldiers march through the land of Vedorn to try and flank the Barzavian soldiers who were still gaining terrain in their country. They had hoped that the cover of the mountains would have kept them hidden from view but they stumbled upon Vedornian soldiers as they moved towards the border. Vedorn saw the presence of the Inbrukian soldiers as an act of war against their country and attacked the inbrukian soldiers, what followed was a declaration of war from Vedorn to Inbruk. This broke the unstable pact between these two nations that was made during the Kaestmus advance.

Both Vedorn and Barzavia gained more and more terrain on Inbruk but the frontline came to a halt in 1783 when they got to the harsh terrain of the inbruk mountains. The war continued for another 7 years before the countries saw no point in continuing the war, a peace treaty was signed in regard of the east front. The three nations both surrendered the land that had been captured by the opposition. Especially Inbruk suffered heavily from this, they lost almost their entire land and were pushed back to the infertile lands behind the Meztaukar Mountains. The war on the west front would continue for another 4 years before there too a similar peace treaty was signed.

Below is a map showing the border changes of four nations before and after the war, the black lines inside show how they were before the war, the red lines inside show how they were after the war.
Image

Post-War Period
The inhabitants of the lands that were lost to other nations experienced a hard time. Especially the parts of the northern foothills of the Inbruk mountains which were lost to Barzavia. Many red kangaroos lived there and would often get severely mistreated by the guards. It was not uncommon for the Red kangaroos to be scapegoated for various crimes for which they then received cruel punishments ranging from unusually long prison sentences to burning at the stake. In the west, the Western Grey Kangaroos received similar treatment and so did the eastern grey kangaroos in the north-east.

The kangaroos who lived in the areas that were taken over by Vedorn received a relative good treatment compared to those in Barzavia. While still despised by most of the inhabitants they were not treated cruelly like those who lived in the areas taken over by Barzavia. Barzavia was eventually forced to stop the cruel punishments, they didn't want yet another great war to erupt so under diplomatic pressure they changed their ways in the year 1856.

Transitional era
The rivalry between the four countries remained great, despite their similarities in languages and religion, they could not set the differences of their species aside, yet they depended on each other. Alone, their economies were too weak, they relied on each other for trade. It was this that caused a massive breakthrough. Over the course of 40 years, the rivalry between these countries weakened as new ways of communication were developed and distances started not to matter, an example of that being the invention of the telephone. The rivalries between the countries would gradually fade away and co-operation would come in its place.

The Foundation
It was in the early '30s that there was more and more advocacy of a union between the 4 nations and on March the 26th, 1934, talks were held between delegations of the 4 nations in the city of Riviruz, the city which would later become the capital of The Kangaroo Republic, in the nation of Vedorn. It took them months to finally come to an agreement, but on June the 27th, 1934 a constitution was made for the new federation, which became known as the Federation of the Kangaroo Republic. The land would then become re-structured into a Federal Parliamentary Republic and was divided into 8 administrative divisions known as districts. These districts were known as Wud District, Meztaukar District, Prere District, Maz Roxez District, Kirkazgibote District, Menzbør District, Inbruk District and Riviruz District. The city where the talks were held, Riviruz, would become designated as the capital of the Federation of the Kangaroo Republic, a temporary government was set up which was led by the 4 leaders of the nations that joined the union untill elections were finished. A week later, Jørge Antaero Amenar was elected as the first president of The Kangaroo Republic.

Opening up the borders
Before the Federation was founded, the nations were very closed to other countries and had a conservative stance on foreigners. However, after the union, these views gradually disappeared and the Federation of the Kangaroo Republic opened up for diplomacy, immigrants and the likes. Before, there was no such thing as anyone living in their lands except for kangaroos but in the late '40s, non-kangaroo population had already increased to a couple thousand individuals. However, discrimination of non-kangaroos was still rather common during these times, the citizens of the Kangaroo Republic were proud of their own culture and there was a certain sense of culture conservatism among the native inhabitants of the Kangaroo Republic, the acceptance of these immigrants was a long process that took place over the course of 60 years, immigrants also had a hard time adjusting to some of the laws that were in place in the Kangaroo Republic, notably the law that makes vegetarianism compulsory.

Again, it was technology that made the citizens more accepting towards different cultures. The invention of the internet allowed communication with people across the entire globe. It were especially students who went on the internet a lot who gained a greater understanding of the diversity of cultures and became accepting towards these cultures.

Emigration and improving the economy
In the beginning of the 21st century, there was a problem in the Kangaroo Republic, that young people especially those who were following or had already completed their tertiary education, were leaving the country in mass, primarily because of the lack of career opportunities and low wages. These students primarily chose to move to nations where the pays are much higher. As a result, the Kangaroo Republic started experiencing a brain drain that is still ongoing to this day.

The government is trying its best to improve the economy by trying to hand out funds to industries that require a employees with a high level of education, in the hope to slow down and possibly reverse the ongoing brain drain in the Federation of the Kangaroo Republic. The results were positive, less young, high-educated people left the country in comparison to last year as there were more job opportunities for them in their home country. As a result, the economy improved dramatically.

Economy

Outline
The Federation of the Kangaroo Republic has a social market economy. The economy of the Kangaroo Republic is mostly based around automotive industry. The main export products of the nation are cars. About 36% of the population is employed in the Industrial sector, many of these work for companies that produce cars. The nation has few natural resources, save for the number of coal mines that are scattered throughout the south of the nation. Iron and oil has to be imported from other nations.

However, there's plenty of arable land and the agriculture of the Kangaroo Republic is quite modernized. As such, agricultural products are also important export products. The climate of the country makes it ideal for the cultivation of citrus fruits.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the government started funding high-tech industry in an attempt to create more job opportunities for high-educated citizens and slow down their emigration towards other countries. As a result, the information technology industry grew a lot over the past years, which helped improve the economy dramatically, in 2009, the value of the Wari reached record heights and even now it continues to increase in value.

Military

Structure
The Military of the Kangaroo Republic is medium-sized and it's primary purpose is defense of the nation, rather than the attacking of other nations. The total number of active troops in the military is 180 800, although when one also takes in consideration the reserve forces, the number of troops reaches 242 400. The military age of the Federation of the Kangaroo Republic is 16 and military service is entirely voluntary.

The military of the Kangaroo Republic is divided into 3 branches:
  • FKR Army (General of the Army: Pauro Ruzakvax Ezbrixt)

  • FKR Air Force (General of the Air Force: Juri Ruzakvax Kaezar)
By far the largest branch of the military is the FKR Army with 160 000 personnel, the FKR Navy is the smallest branch with 14 000 personnel. The FKR Air Force has 68 400 personnel. Most of the equipment of the military consists of Russian manufactured weaponry.

Military History
There have been wars on home soil before the foundation of the federation, most notably the infamous great war that occured in the 18th century between the 4 pre-federation kingdoms.

The first and so far only war that the modern Kangaroo Republic has ever engaged in is the war in Zjøgibote against Imeriata. An ongoing conflict that started in early may over a population of 2 000 macropodines, descendants of people who were taken away from their native land by Imerian raiders to work as slaves for Imeriata.

Government & Politics

Administrative divisions of the Kangaroo Republic
  • Wud District (capital: Kapar)
  • Meztaukar District (capital: Arhe)
  • Prere District (capital: Nezanni)
  • Maz Roxez District (capital: Ordrio)
  • Kirkazgibote District (Capital: Gautkozt)
  • Menzbør District (Capital: Mudzab)
  • Inbruk District (Capital: Dazu'akba)
  • Riviruz District (Capital: Riviruz)

Structure
The Federation of the Kangaroo Republic is a federal, parliamentary, representative democratic republic. The Macropodine political system operates under a framework laid out in the 1934 constitution of the Federation of the Kangaroo Republic.

Amendments to the constitution generally require a two-thirds majority of both chambers of the parliament; the fundamental principles of the constitution, as expressed in the articles guaranteeing sapient dignity, the separation of powers, the federal structure, and the rule of law are valid in perpetuity.

The Federation of the Kangaroo Republic has a bicameral national parliament, the lower house and the upper house. Each of the districts also have their own parliaments known as the district houses.

The president of the Kangaroo Republic is elected directly by the population every four years, the members of the lower house every two years, the members of the district houses are also elected every 2 years by the inhabitants of their respective districts. Elections for the lower house and the district houses take place via a closed party-list voting system. The Prime minister is directly elected by the members of the lower house every 2 years after the lower house elections, the prime minister in turn picks out the other ministers. District presidents are elected by the members of the district houses, also every 2 years.

The upper house represents the government of the district houses, the members of the upper house are not elected, either by popular vote or by the district parliaments, but are delegated by the district president. The states are not represented by an equal number of delegates as the population of the respective state determines the number of votes. The number of votes a district is allocated is based on a form of degressive proportionality. It is based on the size of each district's population. This way, smaller states have more votes than a distribution proportional to the population would grant.
  • Districts with population under 2 million (4 votes)
  • Districts with population above 2 million (5 votes)
  • Districts with population above 4 million (6 votes)
  • Wud District (4 votes)
  • Meztaukar District (4 votes)

  • Maz Roxez District (6 votes)
  • Kirkazgibote District (6 votes)
  • Menzbør District (6 votes)
  • Inbruk District (4 votes)
  • Riviruz District (5 votes)

The upper house has a total of 40 seats. The lower house has a total of 250 seats and each of the district houses is allowed to range from having a total of 50 to 100 seats, though no district has a parliament with under 75 seats.
  • Wud District 75 seats
  • Meztaukar District 80 seats
  • Prere District 100 seats

Judicial Branch
The organisation of courts is traditionally strong, and almost all state actions are subject to judicial review. Besides a so-called "ordinary" judicial branch that handles civil and criminal cases, which is in turn composed of four levels of courts up to the Federal Court of Justice in a fairly complex appeals system, there are separate branches for administrative, tax, labour, and social security issues, each with their own hierarchies. Courts are generally in the hands of the states, except for the highest courts of each branch, which are federal, respectively, to maintain a certain degree of unity in jurisdiction.

In addition, the Kangaroo Republic has a powerful Constitutional Court, the Federal Constitutional Court. This is somewhat unique because the Basic Law stipulates that every person may file a complaint to that court when his or her constitutional rights, especially human rights, have been violated by the state and when he or she has exhausted all stages of appeal in the regular court system.

Such actions can include laws passed by the legislative branch, court decisions, or acts of the administration. Though in practice, only a small percentage of these constitutional complaints are successful. The Constitutional Court also handles several other procedures such as disputes between state institutions over their constitutional powers. It has also the power to outlaw political parties when their goals contravene the principles of the constitution.

Social Issues
The healthcare service of the Federation of the Kangaroo Republic is entirely government funded, as is primary and secondary education. Tertiary education is not publicly funded but government-funded loans exists for students who's families are too poor to afford it. Abortion is illegal nationwide. And vegetarianism was made compulsory, although this law does not affect much of the populace, since kangaroos are herbivorous, it has caused some problems with the humans and other sapient species that live in the Kangaroo Republic. Though they have managed to adapt well to these laws over time. Homosexuality and Bisexuality is widely accepted by the population and gay marriage is legal in all districts.

Drug laws tend to be quite liberal in the various districts, the recreational use of soft drugs is legal in most districts except for Meztaukar District and Inbruk district, the age from which one may use soft drugs varies from district to district. The smoking of tobacco is illegal in Riviruz district only, in the other districts the age that one may start smoking tobacco ranges from 16 to 18 years. Alcohol consumption is legal in all districts, albeit the age at which one may legally consume alcohol varies. Hard drugs are illegal in all districts and possession of hard drugs can get one punished with fines or prison sentences based on how much one is carrying and whether the individual is carrying it with the intent to sell it or is carrying it with the intent to use it for him or herself. In the latter case, one must follow drug rehabilitation.

The FKR also has an extensive social welfare programme that helps those who are physically unable to do any work for a long period of time (longer than 2 months), those who are permanently diabled and the elderly. Unemployed people may also receive financial aid from social welfare programmes if they actively look for jobs. To qualify for this, they need to be registered at an employment agency.

Foreign Relations
Whilst the Federation of the Kangaroo Republic had historically maintained a mostly non-interventionist policy, this has changed dramatically since 2011. The FKR government actively supports many human rights groups, notably the World Anti Slavery Organization, and was also involved in the creation of the International Bloc of Tolerance, a splinter organization from the former DSBT which fell apart due to political instabilities and all-round corruption within the organisation. The nation had recently tried to better the relations between the FKR and Imeriata in an attempt to gain a better understanding about Imerian culture and their seemingly pointless beliefs that non-humans are inferior but as to date, any such attempts failed and in fact, only worsened relations between the FKR and Imeriata.

Conflicts over the inhumane treatment of descendants of macropodine citizens abducted by Imerian slavers as well as abductees from more recent raids, remain unsolved. The refusal of Imeriata to return the abducted citizens to the home country which led to the Zjøgibote conflict between Imeriata and the FKR.

They also have a number of diplomatic missions in some nations. A list of nations where the Kangaroo Republic has diplomatic missions can be found below.

Culture
The Kangaroo Republic has a unique culture. Especially the cuisine is very different as the nutritional needs of kangaroos is much different than those of humans, meat is completely absent in the cuisine of these herbivorous animals. Plenty of citrus fruits are cultivated as the country has a pleasant humid subtropical climate, as such, the macropodine cuisine makes plenty use of these citrus fruits, for example, they are used in the making of juice or the fruits are sliced and used as toppings for pizzas.

Grass is also a major part of the traditional macropodine cuisine. Often, foreigners will laugh at macropodines for their frequent use of grass in dishes. This includes cooking grass, grilling grass, baking grass and even deep frying grass. Of course, different types of grass may be used, depending on the flavour needed.

Sports is also an important part of the culture of the Kangaroo Republic, especially soccer draws a lot of spectators. While competitiveness is encouraged strongly during these games, it is important for macropodines to stay respectful towards their opponents. There's a general belief that disrespectfulness and hostility leads to an impure soul.

Non-aggressiveness is a key tenet of macropodine culture, thanks to the fact that a large portion of the population is buddhistic. A belief is that if one maintains his composure and tries his best not to insult anyone that the chance of making enemies is low to impossible. Martial artforms are widely respected by the population and many people take martial art classes to learn how to defend themselves and how to maintain their calmness in any situation.

Music is another aspect of the macropodine culture that is very important. While there are no traditional music styles that originated from the Kangaroo Republic itself. Western music has always strongly influenced the Macropodines. This was especially the case in the beginning of the 20th century when Jazz Music was developed. And even today, Jazz is the most popular music genre in the Kangaroo Republic. With Swing Jazz being the most popular subgenre.

Ethnic groups
The main ethnic groups are the four species of kangaroos native to the Kangaroo Republic, the sapient antilopine kangaroos, sapient eastern grey kangaroos, sapient western grey kangaroos and sapient red kangaroos. These four species take into account about 99% of the population. While inter-species marriages between the 4 kangaroo species occur frequently (while inter-species relationships with non-kangaroo species are less common) interbreeding is impossible. The remaining population is mostly human, most of them being of Jalanese origin. There's also a small number of other sapient species that live in the Kangaroo Republic.
Following is a list of ethnic groups in the Kangaroo Republic.
  • Sapient Red Kangaroo 19.2%
  • Sapient Eastern Grey Kangaroo 27.9%
  • Sapient Antilopine Kangaroo 26.5%
  • Sapient Western Grey Kangaroo 25.1%
  • Human 1.1%
  • Other 0.2% (under 1%)
Religion
the FKR is a secular country, and freedom of religion is a constitutional right, however, the largest portion of the population chooses to follow buddhism. The biggest portion of the buddhistic followers describe themselves as modernist buddhists and most do not think of creationism as a fact. The liberal outlook on religion in most macropodines can be traced back to religion never having been fully ingrained into the culture of the FKR aside from some eastern portions of the country that have been heavily influenced by the neighbouring nation of Kaestmus. Buddhism itself was a religion largely brought in through Jalanese traders, and has since been practiced liberally in the nation.
Below is a list of religions that are practiced within the Kangaroo Republic.
  • Buddhism 72.3%
  • Christianity 3.8%
  • Islam 1.6%
  • Atheist/Agnostic 19.4%
  • Other 2.9% (under 1%)
Languages
(OOC: Note, this section is in severe danger of being changed dramatically in preparation for the great linguistic retcon I have planned)
The native and official language of the Kangaroo Republic is Kangan, a language that is part of the Anglo-Frisian language family. Although English is taught in all schools and there's a very large number of people who speak English. This is mostly thanks to the similarities between the English language and the Kangan Language. There's a large number of people who also know how to speak other major languages such as Spanish, German or French.
Below is a list of languages with a large number of people who speak it fluently (above 1%)
  • Kangan 100%
  • English 93.2%
  • French 4.2%
  • Spanish 2.4%
  • German 1.7%
There's plenty of Kangan accents that are spoken within the nation of the Kangaroo Republic, These dialects include Coastal Kangan, spoken in the north-east. Capital kangan, spoken throughout most of the Menzbør District. Southern kangan, spoken in the Inbruk district. Grassland Kangan, spoken in the southern prairies of the Kangaroo Republic. Great Lakes Kangan, spoken in the Maz Roxez District. Western Kangan is the most common accent in Meztaukar district and some parts of the Wud District. And Forest Kangan, spoken in the far north-west, in the area of the city of Kapar.
Image

Due to English being a widespread language within the Kangaroo Republic, over time, a distinct dialect was developed which became known as the Macropodine English Dialect. Macropodine English is known as a peculiar dialect that has remained largely unaffected by the great vowel shift, as its phonology is based off of the Kangan language, which developed separately from English as an Anglic language that had not been affected by the great vowel shift. Because it is often an unintelligible dialect to outsiders, a lot of macropodines tend to adopt more easily intelligible accents that come close to their native dialect. Thus, many macropodines may also speak with Australian, New Zealander, British, Irish, Scottish or Welsh dialects. Some companies even require speakers to adopt a different dialect, as do many branches of the government and the military. While conservatives fiercely oppose it as discrimination of their traditional dialect, other people claim the policies to be progressive and advantageous for the position of the FKR on an international scale. Below you will find a pronounciation guide for Macropodine English.

Dear TKR. What do your people look like?
Kalaspia-Shimarata's flag represents the Union between K&S. The dark blue represents the sea and the light blue represents the sky. In Kalashi language considers light blue and dark blue to be different colours. England colonised, and unified K&S, between 1774 and 1953, and English, light blue and dark blue are considered to be the same colour. Therefore, the contrast between dark blue and light blue represents the union, but the differences between K&S where as blue being two but simultaneously one colour represents K&S being two, but simultaniously one entity. The opposite to the symmetry represents the unity and indipendance of K&S, whilst also representing the Kalashi culture of opposite symmetry.KS is 75% Christian, hence the cross.

Well, quite obviously we are sapient kangaroos.
As such, most of our citizens do not differ much from non-sapient kangaroos in appearance.
There are 4 species of sapient kangaroos, to list them, these are:
  • Sapient Eastern Grey Kangaroos
  • Sapient Western Grey Kangaroos
  • Sapient Red Kangaroos
  • Sapient Antilopine Kangaroos
The appearances between these 4 species differ a lot but, as said before, they're nearly identical in appearance to non-sapient kangaroos.

As for the humans, it tends to be more diverse. Most of the human immigrants are of East-Asian descent so they have a somewhat golden (at the lack of a better term for it) skin color and of course their eyes have epicanthic fold as is common with people of East-Asian descent.

Kangaroo Republic; since most major nations on NS did, did your nation's military participate, in any way, in both World Wars? Was your country affected by the US "Lend-Lease" Act? Basically a short military history of your involvement in WWI and WWII.

Well, WWI and WWII are both events that occured in Real life, And any event that occured in Real Life did not necessarily also occur in the Nationstates universe.

Oh, I was just wondering cause most nations (that I've seen) did something during those wars. A similar question that perhaps you can answer; was your nation ever involved in an armed conflict on foreign soil? If you have multiples, then just give me the most major one.

Judging by the looks of the borders and the shades of color used and my futile attempts to make my own map; looks like Microsoft Paint. (Am I correct?)

Yeah, it's MS paint.

Also, the FKR has never actually invaded a foreign country or was involved in an armed conflict on foreign soil. The military's main purpose is defense, not attack.
