On a serious note: I hated to go to school, and I hated homework. However, now that I look back on it, I am glad I went to school. I'm glad that it prepared me for university life. I am glad that was made to go to school so that I could form the adult I would become.

In my mind, (and this would be only good for myself and other achievers, it would suck for the nation itself) mandatory education should be struck void. It would create a much larger gap between those who achieve and those who do not, and make school better for those who actually want to learn something.
Plus, it would allow those who work hard to actually be successful. Eh?

Hardly successful. Do you realise the horror of having almost half the population illiterate? Successful? Successful? Not when you're being robbed every other day. Crime rates going up, social inequality reaching unimaginable standards, etc. No, thanks, I prefer the "slavery".

It is damn pointless. You force someone who doesn't want to go to school, they wont learn they will just hamper rest of class and use resorces which could be better used on other students.
