Thank you, sir. You are a patriot!

I'm a little confused by this post. I'm a socialist, and my interpretation was that you ranked socialists next to that white stuff that accumulates on the corner of your mouth when you get thirsty.

Unrelated, but awesome sig.

Well. I have my limits as far as saving the world goes.

A1. Liberal - Democratic Socialist.

A2. Bruce Willis... mostly because I could find any attractive or interesting female conservatives who were not country music singers. I would have gone for Meghan McCain... but we are both 'prosex' and thus share at least one view point.

A3. David Horowitz, Sarah Palin, or Anne Coutler. I would try but I might end up murdering them a quarter way threw dinner thus dooming the Earth to destruction...

On a side note... I think this whole idea is a great premise for a sitcom.

But I can't think of a single rightwing celebrity I would choose to date. It's not just their politics -- it's that I think they're all so hideously unattractive as well as boring. Can't I just give the aliens my list of "Nevers" and let them pick my date from the names that are NOT on that list? Because me choosing -- not working out so good.

It all depends how right-wing you need to go.

There are some epically right-wing sci-fi writers and actors.

Could you name one or two? Because I can't think of any off hand who are eye-candy enough to make up for them droning on about their stupid ideas through dinner. I'm like Soviet Taoistan -- I'm afraid I'd stab them in the throat with my fork before desert, which would likely doom the planet.

EDIT: My thinking is that, if the guy is hot enough, I can tune out his voice while I enjoy staring at him. And I can't think of any who I know have rightwing leanings and who I think are sufficiently hot for that.

Pournelle and Niven come to mind, though of course they're rather old.

Most action-film stars are also right-wing, of course.

Google revealed a list of libertarian and conservative film actors, but I don't know how reliable it is.

Those were extensive lists -- and extensively overlapping -- and I said "ew" to all of the guys on them. Even Clint Eastwood has deteriorated too far.

Thanks, folks, I really appreciate the effort, but it looks like the planet is doomed. The rightwing placed ideology above sexiness, and now we shall all pay the price.

I mean, come on -- it can't be genetic, can it? I mean, there are plenty of butt-fugly leftwingers. Can't there be even one hot, freedom-hating rightwinger?

1. Vaugely Conservative. I resist ultra-right wing groupthink and "Business will save us all" economic theory, however. I also believe we have all the civil rights we need, they just don't get used.

2. Since I'm happy with my wife, I think we'd invite the Clintons over for dinner. It'd be a trip swapping stories with them. Whitewater, White House Travel office, Monica, Hillary's recent African trip... plenty of stories.

3. If it's Rosie, You guys had better break out the marshmellows.

I just tried to image-google "hot actors" without even a political reference, to see if I could find my idea of "hot" and the first three pages reminded me that I think the typical US taste in "hot guys" is actually seriously fucking ugly to me -- and political affiliation has nothing to do with it.

So, sorry Earth. I like you as a planet and all, but apparently, you are too full of ugly guys. So you're going to have to go, and it will probably turn out for the best in the long run. I mean, we would not want these hideous creatures attaining interstellar travel and contaminating dating prospects on other worlds, now would we?

Oh, Niven the writer. I thought of David Niven the actor, but I thought you would be too young to know who he is. And what has Pournelle written? I remember titles much better than names. And if these are writers, would it not behoove you to link some photos? I mean, writers are capable of looking like total shit, you know, and looks are the whole point of this exercise.

Pournell's written quite a lot, and doesn't look half bad if you're into men (which I'm not). He kind of resembles G. Gordon Liddy.

You're joking, right? G. Gordon Liddy? That is NOT "date to save the world" material. That is "let it burn" material. I mean, ye gods, if the world is going to survive, then I would have to think about my reputation, and nothing -- not even saving the world -- could make up for having to say "I went on a date with a G. Gordon Liddy look-alike. *shudder*

Evidently, you are (1) a guy and (2) not gay, because you are not getting the concept here.

Bobby Jindal is not a "nice guy" to me because he's a far-rightwing tool. That makes him not "nice." So any of the things that might signal "nice" would be strictly off limits -- things like him talking at all. Because that would cause me to start fingering my fork.

So, for me to choose him to be my date to save the world, he would have to be "hot". Not nice. Hot.

This:

Is NOT HOT. Trust me. I'm a hetero woman. The above is not a hot guy. I cannot stare at that and successful tune out his droning talk -- especially with that accent of his.
