A Brief History of Feiti/El historo de Feiti

Feiti is a country that began harmoniously and was governed by two general groups: the Saum tribes of the Saum Forests [now known as the Royal Forest], and the subsistence peoples along the eastern and southern coasts. With the discovery of magic and the devlopment of weaponry, the subsistence peoples had, at the beginning of the 18th century, started a crusade towards the west. In 1812, the city of Rodrigo, named after Feiti's first official leader Rodrigo Allacera, was founded as the capital and became the centre for the development of wizardry [witchcraft had then been taboo and only seen on the smaller islands of Feiti]. In 1815 the first Feitian conflict began - The Saum War - which had been the result of Saum warriors refusing to allow Rodrigo Allacera land ownership of the Saum Forests. The conflict lasted up until 1821, when Rodrigo Allacera was murdered by Saum sympathisers in the Northern Plateau [now Prince Town]. After Allacera's fall, a new family took power and the first regal government was established. This family were the Black family who had shared an alliance with the Saum tribes for decades. Once in power, Lord Arthur, head of the Black family, declared in 1816 that all Saum Forests were to be completely governed by the Saum tribes only, and that no other people should intefere with their 'harmless nature'. Lord Arthur achieved several things during his period, including the moving of Feiti's capital in 1818 from Rodrigo to a newly established academic city named 'St. Arthur's City'. As well as this, Arthur formally recognised the smaller island communities of Rituania, Western Isles, Yulan and Norda. He did not, however, recognise Garrana Island [on the grounds that its vampire populations were too uncivilised], the Ice Straits [on the grounds that it was useless] and Ingyeong [simply because it was so far north and not seen as an immediate threat or an investment]. Before his death in 1860, Arthur built three large towns in honour of his three daughters [Olivia, Irma and Emeline]. His son, Bernard Johnson, later was honoured the massive port city Johnson City. In the 1870s Lord Arthur's wife, Marlene Vakata [of Saum origin], began to face financial troubles and fled to live a reclusive life somewhere in the Southern Seas. This had automatically passed power onto her son, Bernard, however his views had been radically different to his parents'. Bernard was not interested in royalty at all, and wanted business and international trade to be Feiti's speciality. In fact, Bernard got rid of the royal family entirely, setting up instead a party of experts from around Feiti to run the country instead. Initially the party was directed and trained by Bernard himself, however by the end of 1870 he had allowed Sandra Gustav to take over, a graduate from the capital's new Political Academy. Gustav became the country's first Prime Minister, however the country's name was not changed and remained The Republic of Feiti. Gustav's term lasted ten years, and over this decade five major parties were formed, although it was her party [The Purple Party] who maintained the lead throughout and passed several democratic laws throughout the country. By the 1900s, unrest was beginning to show its face once more when the witch and vampire populations demanded more rights as citizens of Feiti. In 1908 the Humadas vampire tribe attacked Prince Town in their thousands, murdering over 200,000 innocents and police. The Academy for Wizardry in Rodrigo was appointed to help dispel the revolt, which was only expected to last a few days, however it became a decade of bitter feuding between the vampire populations and the allied humans and wizards. The Purple Party then in 1913 passed a law granting the Humadas tribe the same rights as humans [however not the Dracadas or Viradas tribes], since the Humadas made up about 95% of the revolting group. After this law was passed, the Humadas were slowly integrated into human Feitian society, whilst the Dracadas fled and settled on Garrana Island, and the Viradas were forcably pushed back into the cold northern plains. A key figure of the Humadas tribe - Mikail Hessin - struck a deal with the Purple Party which changed the vampire society forever. The contract consisted of an ambitious divison of the country, where only the recognised regions would treat the Humadas with the civility they demanded. This gave the Humadas an opportunity to have an input in Feitian politics, something they had always wanted. The catch was that the Humadas in return help the humans 'control' the Viradas tribe, which has since caused bitter divisions between the two tribes. This was when 'safe' zones and 'red' zones were created. Essentially, anybody in a red zone was immune to all law and could do whatever they wished, so long as it did not affect the 'safe' zones. Even so, there was still the problem of the witch populations who were flooding onto the mainland for a taste of this new democracy for minorities. Izabel Flo - a witch studying biology at the Sciences Academy in St. Arthur's City - was the first witch to fight against the system of women not being allowed to perform magic. In 1960 she led a small protest through the streets of the capital, which later led to an attack on the Quadrant [the Purple Party's headquarters] and the deaths of three witches and seven humans. The Purple Party, renowned for its subordinate behaviour in such circumstances, passed a law in 1961 granting witches the same rights as wizards and humans, marking the end of much of the ethnic tension within safe zones.

Physical Structure/La Forma Literala

The Republic of Feiti is approximately 8,000 kilometres in length and 3,500 in width. The biggest proportion of this country is the mainland. In the north the mainland narrows slightly, forming the Northern Plains, its coasts being mainly steep rock formations. Further south on the western part of mainland Feiti, the land widens and also becomes more mountainous and forested. The Royal Forest stretches from the far western coast of the Northern Plains all the way to the southern coast of Feiti. The more south one goes in the Royal Forest and along the western coast, the more narrow the country becomes, revealing more sandy beaches. On the southern coast of Feiti, the land protrudes in the west and then pushes back out again in the east, with some of the most extensive beaches and valleys in the country. The eastern coast is generally uninterrupted up until the island of Rituania, where the mainland retracts slightly. The coast in the Johnson City zone is much more industrialised and so the beaches slowly begin to disappear the further ones goes up the eastern coast. There are also several smaller islands surrounding the mainland. The most northerly, Ingyeong, is about the size of Cyprus, and south east of Ingyeong is the snowy island of Norda. Going further south outside the eastern coast of the mainland, one can see the Ice Straits, and on the opposite western coast is the remote Garrana Island. Several miles south of the Garrana Sea are the Western Isles [four small islands], and further south still off the southern mainland coast are several unnamed island in the Southern Seas [approximately eleven islands]. A little further north and closer to the souther mainland coast is the island of Yulan. Off the eastern coast one can see Rituania, a group of islands [thirteen of them] surrounding a larger one only slightly smaller than Ingyeong.

Climate/La Tempa

Generally, Feiti is colder in the north and hotter in the south. The coldest regions are Ingyeong and Norda, whereas the hottest can be found in the Southern Seas. Rain is particularly frequent in northern Saum, Prince Town and the Northern Plains red zone. The Wonsang Sea is also particularly stormy and not safe for inexperienced sailors. Rain is rather rare the more central areas of the St. Arthur's City safe zone the nearby red zone countryside. Snow is predominant in areas north of Prince Town, rarely touching Prince Town or anywhere further south. Tropical storms have been known to hit the southern coast. Drought is almost all year round in the red zone surrounding Rodrigo and Rodrigo itself.

Resources/Las resorcos

Rituania is by far the most plentiful region, with fourteen islands of largely untapped land. As well as very abundant supplies of fish and oil from beneath the sea, mainlaind Rituania is where several gemstones and new atoms for creating magic have been found. It is also the leading region in Feiti for fruit and vegetable produce. The Royal Forest of Saum is a region used widely for its wood resources, and also cattle is raised here for farming and for consumption. Atoms for creating magic and also some forms of energy have been almost always found on the island of Yulan, where magic was originally discovered in Feiti. Fish is the main export as Feiti boasts a massive variety at quality prices.

Politics/El politico

Political Freedoms: Average Civil Rights: Good

The Purple Party is the current democratic-liberal governing party of The Republic of Feiti. It is now headed by Rook Rameer, a former Defence Minister for the Feitian Military. The party is made up of fifteen members [including Rameer] from all over Feiti. These member represent the views and interests of each safe zone. They must also vote on each law that is proposed. The royal family no longer plays an active role in politics, but are however sometimes requested if a sensitive law needs certain support before being passed. The general population of Feiti have the right to vote [humans, wizards, witches, mermaids, Hamadus and Dracadas vampires], although do not have to if they do not wish to do so. The other parties currently active in Feiti are [in order of most popular after the Purple Part to the least popular] The Socialist Party, The Redemption Party, The Humadas Party, The Nationalist Party and The Serena Justice Party. The political headquarters, where all voting and political meetings take place, is The Quadrant in central St. Arthur's City.

Safe Zones/Las Ortos Protojes

'Safe' zones are those regions that the Purple Party has designated as the active practising regions of base law and civility, and any area not recognised as such is one seen as too hostile and dangerous to comply with. This arrangement was largely due to the Hamadas vampire tribe making a contract with the Purple Party government. The Hamadas wanted more land to hunt but also to play a part in mainstream Feitian affairs, and so the humans offered these 'safe' zones as areas where the Hamadas and a select few other minorities could be safely treat as equals to humans and wizards. All safe zones are generally free of crime and very democratic. The following areas are safe zones:

St. Arthur's City

A massive capital city home to around 80% of the Feitian population, this city has been around ever since the Black family assassinated Rodrigo Allacera. Today, it boasts beautiful acadmies teaching a broad spectrum of subjects and is the educational hotspot for all budding intellectuals. The city itself is about 5 miles, but the rest of the safe zone around it is 60 miles more of generally flat, green countryside. The beaches on St.Arthur's City's coast are not the most popular, but nevertheless are the location for important ports connecting Rituania to the mainland. The capital is of course also home to The Quadrant, the Purple Party's headquarters, and also White Corp [Feiti's government foundation for scientific research]. Embassies are based here opposite The Quadrant, and the country's biggest airport is to the west of the capital. Prices are at their most expensive here, especially property and transport, however there is little unemployment in the capital and a high academy graduate rate. The city is currently looking for ambassadors from other nations to establish themselves, offering generous incentives such as free, long holidays to smaller islands and first class transport access.

Prince Town

Prince Town is the second biggest city in Feiti, with around 5% of the nation living here. This was the home of the Black family before they came to regal power, and even then it was an important industrial powerpoint to the Saum tribes and to the then capital city Rodrigo . This city is a lot more quiet than St. Arthur's City, though its major industries are in metalurgy and factory production. Most of Prince Town's population are factory or industrial workers, a lot of which are also non-human. This city is the headquarters of Black Corp [Feiti's Secret Service]. Despite large government funding, Prince Town still sometimes suffers from murders that occur when innocents accidentally stray into the red zone in the north. Most safe zones are surrounded by red zone, however Prince Town is particularly vulerable because of a small Viradas vampire population living just on the border. Prince Town is surrounded by mountains and is often rainy.

Johnson City

Named after Arthur Black's son Bernard Johnson [married to Sabrina Johnson], this town is the most important port town in Feiti. It is also the base for two very important forces: The Blue Corp [Feiti's coastal rescue force] and the Feitian Military. Although the Johnson City safe zone is also close to to Viradas populations, the city experiences very little trouble from vampires since it is well protected by soldiers training there. Nowadays, Johnson City has transformed from the international trading town it used to be. Today it is the country's leading city for modern music production, and many streets are filled with huge speakers that play many genres of music [and apartments here are soundproofed in case citizens become tiresome of the music]. Johnson City is also the second best place is Feiti for a good education, producing some of the most successful recording artists and offering high positions in the military. The Feitian Airforce is located here too, as well as the Feitian Navy and the country's massive Sporting Academy. The coast of Johnson City, known as the Cool Skyline, is home to some very rich people.

Neonai

The newest, youngest safe zone in Feiti which was only established in 2050, Neonai is a shrine to all things otaku and all things 'student'. With thousands of bars, clubs, beach resorts and flashy hotels, Neonai has helped generate a lot of popularity among the international youth. It is not just a place to play though, as this city has excellent academies teaching art and dance and produces some rather brilliant films. It has been compared to places such as Tokyo, Singapore and Las Vegas, proud of its work-play balance and its virtually non-existent crime levels. However, property developers have taken advantage of the rising interest in Neonai, and housing is now almost as expensive as in the capital. Neonai is also the only way to gain access to Serena, the underwater mermaid city.

Saum

Saum is an ancient safe zone that once covered most of Feiti. The city of Saum itself is mostly in the canopy of the Royal Forest, where properties are constructed from combinations of woodcraft and wizardry. There are three main tribes in Saum: warrior, archer and wizard. The three tribes generally cohabit well with each other, however once out in the surrounding red zone there are sometimes clashes between revolutionaries and the Dracadas in the north. The tribe governer of Saum, Noo Ra, has made excellent contributions to Feiti's environmental protection and the protection of several mythical species. Saum is also one of the most diverse regions, with almost every race working and living in its treetops. One inconveniance, however, is that Saum can only be accessed by a traditional tram or via magical means. Most modern technology is frowned upon here, yet wizardry is all the rage.

Rodrigo

The first ever offical capital of Feiti, and named after the ambitious Rodrigo Allacera, this mysterious city is now a remote safe zone in the middle of a scorching desert. Even so, expert wizardry dating back hundreds of years has allowed the citizens of Rodrigo to survive. It is also where the Academy for Wizardry was established, the number one producer of all new spells and leader in wizarding research. It is now the home also of the three daughters of Arthur Black, and these three women have endeavoured to help the eldery wizarding generation uncover the legendary secrets alluded to in ancient desert books. In Rodrigo one can visit Feiti's only museum, The Museum for Fetian History, where some of Feiti's most precious artefacts are kept. Rodrigo is currently working on conservation work to save the sand dragons that inhabit the surrounding red zone.

Olivia, Irma and Emeline

These three large towns were named after Arthur Black's three daughters. Olivia, named after the daughter who was famed for her royal journeys abroad in search of foreign cuisine, is a haven for chefs. This town has had so much money pumped into it and has produced the best restaurants in the whole of Feiti. Its main exports are wine, olives and tea, but it is also popular for the abundancy of flowers which grow wild in its vast safe zone. Irma, further east, is a city of vogue and beauty. Once dubbed Feiti's Hollywood, it has everything except the film industry. Irma was named after the daughter who was so beautiful her father sometimes would not let her leave the palace alone. Now, this wonderful picturesque town is the trendsetter for fashion and is a big seller in international beauty products. Even further east is the final town of this triplet, Emeline. The third daughter was a musically talented woman who composed Feiti's national anthem. Emeline as a town is beautifully nostalgic in that it is very traditional and almost medieval. Emeline really captures the natural essence of music with its small, loving community and its famed Emeleine Academy. All three towns are close to each other, however if you want to get from one to the other, you should cross into the red zone. Olivia is the only town of the three with safe access to the southern coast's beaches, whereas you would be in the red zone if you want to see Irma or Emeline's coasts.

Rituania

The biggest producer in the whole of Feiti - one large island surrounded by thirteen smaller ones. Rituania resembles an historic fishing village that sprung to the world of riches when its abundancy of resources was noticed by the mainland. Despite exporting millions of tonnes of produce every year, Rituania remains natural and has retained its beauty. Its people are well off and most do not even leave their island. Currently Rituanians businesses are looking for international partners to sell fish, oil and atoms to.

Yulan

A volcanic island that is possibly the heart and soul of Feitian pride. If it weren't for Yulan, Rodrigo would not be so high profile. This is because Yulan was the place where magic was first discovered in Feiti. In the past the island suffered supression and isolation because of a ban on witches, but now it is one of the most important tourist sites and on the list of many atomic researchers. The island also produces mass amounts of sugar, honey and has a lively pixie population. However, although Yulan is a safe zone, it should be made clear that the island is an active volcano and that its citizens live each day in constant danger.

Western Isles

A safe zone popular among humans wishing to get away from it all for a few weeks. These four islands are warm and abundant with life, and sailing competitions are held here regularly. There are, however, sometimes disputes between humans and Saum natives over land.

Norda

Norda is a lonesome island off the northern coast of Feiti. The island is covered in snow and its mountains have attracted winter sports fanatics from all over the world. It is host to the Feitian Winter Games. This island is however difficult to reach as it requires crossing the Wonsang Sea, a red zone. Once there however, visitors can enjoy the friendly atmosphere and take advantage of the abundancy of pubs.

Serena

Serena is not visible on the surface. It is, in fact, a mermaid city thousands of miles deep in the Southern Seas. It is accessible only by means of a specially developed submarine line connected to Neonai. Before 2050, mermaids and mermen had not revealed themselves to the rest of Feiti. The city of Serena itself was named so by Paolo Carabali, an explorer from Rodrigo who was the first human to see the mermaid city for himself. About 100,000 mermaids and mermen live in Serena, although several can also be found swimming all over the Southern Seas. Serena is generally a peaceful city, however it experienced underwater conflicts when a previous merman leader, Akrana, strongly disagreed with the new contact with humans. Now, however, a new merman [Minister Fodra of the Purple Party] leads Serena, and thanks to him all mermaids and mermen share the same rights as humans and wizards. In a joint project with Rodrigo in 2052, Serena accepted to purchase a special powder that would enable mermaids and mermen to survive out of water if they wanted to visit the mainland. For the moment, though, there is no such spell that allows humans to survive without apparatus in the underwater city.

Red Zones/Las Ortos Projeres

'Red' zones are the opposite of 'safe' zones, often deemed unfit for the civilised man, and so in effect these lands are lawless and home to an array of creatures and races. The general rule is that those in the red zone can do whatever they like, so long as it does not affect the safe zones. Here is a list of the red zones:

The Wonsang Sea

A perilous sea with horrendous tides, this is not the place for a rookie sailor to be. The waters of the Wonsang are teeming with such creatures as giant jellyfish, shark-eating fish and there are often lightning storms here. Pirates sail these waters in search of stranded boats. One compelling thing about this red zone is that the Wonsang dragon, a Feitian legend, has been spotted here on a number of occasions.

Garrana Sea and Garrana Island

Garrana Sea is much less violent than the Wonsang, and at a glance Garrana island also appears harmless. It is, however, what's underground that has made this area a red zone. The Dracada vampire tribe fled here many decades ago after clashing with humans on the mainland, and ever since they have been living in an intricately designed lair of tunnels. Somewhere in this lair resides the believed current Dracada leader, a female vampire named Lucida. She is well protected by the Dracada and is rumoured to be plotting against the Humadas vampire tribe who they believe betrayed them. On the surface, Garrana island is lush and rich with lost treasures from the Wonsang.

Ice Straits

Huge shards of white ice have remained floating off the north eastern coast for centuries, not melting due to a spell gone wrong by a government wizarding team. The plan was to melt the ice to make the waters more accessible for ships, however it simply made the ice harder, colder and now the polar bear population here is rife.

Southern Seas

Not particularly dangerous, however there are species of shark and some vicious mermaids who could pose a threat. The small islands here are largely unknown, some rumoured to be harbouring aliens.

Ingyeong

The mot northerly island of Feiti. This is now a prison in the middle of a red zone for the worst offenders. It is freezing, hostile and the soldiers there are permitted to dispatch of anyone without permission to be there. It's been rumoured that the island is being used by White Corp to conduct top secret scientific experiments.

Red zone around St. Arthur's City, Olivia, Irma and Emeline

This zone is not very dangerous, but some of the valleys are prone to extreme flooding and have some terrific drops.

Desert [Rodrigo] and Prince Town red zones

The desert surrounding Rodrigo is dangerous mostly for its heat, but also because of the vicious reptiles and savages hiding in the sands. Prince Town's red zone is most risky in the north, where the Viradus vampire tribe sometimes hunt.

Saum red zones

Quite dangerous in the north, where Dracada are lingering, and also in the deep south, where bitter feuds between humans and archer tribes can still be seen.

Northern Plains

This red zone is the biggest of all, and the loneliest. There are very few people who survive this zone, particularly due to its high population of Viradus vampires and prehistoric specimens that escaped during gone-wrong experiments.

The Feitian Military/El Militaro

The Feitian Military is made up of a main body of 250,000 soldiers. In 1913 the Purple Party passed a law granting more rights for Hamadas vampires, however Sandra Gustav [the then party leader] and Dominique Cardin [the then Black Corp Minister] also decided it would be wise to build up a 100,000 strong force to defend Johnson City and Prince Town from the Dracadas and Viradas vampire tribes. Since then, military campaigning and compulsory military service has increased the army's numbers to 250,000. As well as regular soldiers, the Feitian Military is made up of First Academy graduates used for special operations and also the Navy and Feitian Airforce. Military service is compulsory for all humans aged 18.

Transport/La Communa

St. Arthur's City is the major hub of transport, where almost every safe zone is connected in some way to it. The most common form of transport is the Pink Line, a public Metro line. The Pink line has stations is Prince Town, Johnson City, St. Arthur's City, Emeline, Irma, Olivia and Neonai. There are also transportation points for wizards and witches: major points being in St.Arthur's City, Rodrigo, Saum, Yulan and Prince Town. The main transport method in the Rodrigon desert is via camel or magic carpet, and the main method in Saum is the treetop cable car and on the ground the wooden tram. Those wishing to get to Western Isles should fly from Prince Town Airport [the closest and a safe rout], or travel through the small area of red zone off the western Saum coast. Those wishing to access the underwater city Serena should take the submarine Metro line that runs from Neonai's Southport [the only safe route] or can swim from the southern coast towards the Serena safe zone [although not recommended as Serena's border is heavily guarded by mermen]. There is one teleportation port from the heart of the Northern Plains red zone which will teleport the traveller to Garrana Island. The only other way is to swim to the island. Access to Rituania can be safely achieved from cruisers in Johnson City's ports or from St. Arthur's Port, although it is easily accessed by swimming. The unnamed islands in the Southern Seas are all in red zone and so should be accessed by swimming, and the same goes for the Ice Straits and Ingyeong in the north. Norda is accessible safely via air from Prince Town Airport, but it can also be swum to.

Black Corp and White Corp

Founded in 1814, the Black Corp was a Secret Service organization set up by Minister Dominique Cardin as a precaution against the Dracada vampire tribe. Its headquarters can be found in Prince Town, where over 900 employees of the government are specially trained in secret operations. Most of the Black Corp graduates also graduated from the First Academy in Saum. The most well-known Black Corp operation was an attack on Garrana Island in 1833 which prevented a terrorist attack on the then Prime Minister Sandra Gustav. Today, the Black Corp are involved in more complex issues involving modern crime, particularly international crime and drug dealing.

The White Corp is a government foundation founded in the 1990s to lead scientific research in Feiti. Minister Kristian Kolb is the leading man of White Corp, the headquarters of which are found in St. Arthur's City. There are around 3,000 White Corp employees, some of which are stationed on Yulan, Ingyeong and around the Ice Straits. The main objectives of White Corp are the development of more efficient energy, conservation of the environment and more recently research into genetics. The controversial work of White Corp on the island of Ingyeong has raised questions over the government's ambitions for the future and the security of Feiti's minorities.

First And Second Academies

In 1814 the First Academy came as a biproduct of the Feitian Military, an academy that is used to train its students to the highest abilities in martial arts. The First Academy is situated deep in the Saum red zone, and only permits those who have been assigned by the government as a training Black Corp agent. The Second Academy is found a few miles away from the first, however this one is open for study by any member of the public wishing to join the special forces of the Feitian Military. The academy trains smiliar skills as the First Academy, and is still heavily guarded by soldiers. The First Academy offers an official degree of education, whereas the Second is generally for military training purposes.

The following are existing races or creatures in Feiti:

*Humans
*Dragons [sand dragon, Wonsang dragon, hopper dragon]
*Mermaids/mermen [two species: civil and vicious]
*Vampires [three species/tribes: Humadas/Hamadas: related closely to humans because they can control their thirst for blood; Dracadas: the only species that can transform into a bat, but cannot survive in sunlight; Viradus: cannot survive in sunlight, extremely virilant and attack any living mammal]
*Dinosaurs
*Werewolves
*Angels
*Demons
*Wizards/witches [although technically human, just humans who have learnt magic]
*Pixies
*Elves
*Trolls
*Goblins
*Dwarves
*Aliens

Humans/Las Hommas

The humans of Feiti are the biggest populous of the land, accounting for 75% in total. Because of their sheer majority, humans have been dominant throughout Feiti's history, particularly along the south eastern and western coasts of the mainland. All of the country's leaders have been human, and the majority of the military are made up of human conscripts. The most influencial humans in Feitian history include Rodrigo Allacera, Arthur Black and the modern-day Prime Minister Rook Rameer.

Dragons/Las Dragonas

Sand Dragon

The sand dragon is one of the two endangered species of dragon in Feiti. Mainly yellow-gold in coulour, it lives in the Rodrigon deserts and preys largely on wilderbeats. However, its existence is under threat due to poaching savages, increasing drought and smugglers. The sand dragon is the only species that cannot breathe fire and is the second largest of the three. Its eggs are laid in deep burrows beneath the sand, where it can be found sleeping at night.

The Wonsang Dragon

An extremely rare and endangered dragon which is the emblem of Feitian national pride. The largest species and one that flies hundreds of miles over the stormy Wonsang Sea in search of aquatic prey. It lays its eggs on and around Gurrana Island, but has only been spotted on a couple of occasions every year. It is believed to travel by night and sleep by day, and can breath fire. Its colour varies from indigo to onyx black.

Hopper Dragon

The majority of this species are small and frolic in the depths of the Royal Forest. Their colours are of a wide range, including orange, purple, red, blue and green. This species is the most abundant as it has little predators in the Saum region, laying its eggs freely in the canopy and preying on small mammals and insects. Although it can fire, it only does so when feeling threatened, sometimes causing forest fires. It can be spotted active through the day and sleeping in treetops during the night.

Mermaids/Mermen

The first mermaid [of which can live for over a hundred years with little difference to their appearance] of Feiti was discovered washed up dead on the southern coast of Yulan in 2048. During this year Paolo Carabali, a Rodrigon explorer, was leading an exploration of the Southern Seas. He immediately endeavoured to learn more about this new race, and within months more mermaids were discovered. However, the females of this race [mermaids], could not speak any intelligible language, and so they were monitored by White Corp researchers. In 2050 Serena, the underwater mermaid city, was discovered. Carabali's fleet of explorers headed underwater to learn more about this race, however were met with fierce resistance at the Serena border by mermen guards. Two humans were killed and the country was alarmed. The then mermen leader of Serena, Akrana, expressed deep prejudices about the mainland populous, stressing that Serena should be an independent state. Despite this, a mermen gang known as the Corra Gang ambushed Akrana's palace and murdered their leader. The revolt lead to the placing of a new leader, Fodra, taking over. Fodra's interests were much more diplomatic, and in 2059 the Neonai-Serena submaire Metro line was constructed, and Paulo Carabali began work on a spell that would allow mermaids and mermen to survive out of water on the mainland. The spell allows the mermaid or merman to levitate for long periods of time. Mermen are more intelligent than mermaids, and so can speak their own language [Mermish] and have been learning others to help their advancement on the mainland. Mermaids do not speak any language, including Mermish, however research is currently being carried out to teach them to do so. Mermaids and mermen now enjoy the same civil rights as humans, one Minister of the Purple Party - Fodra - now officially represents Serena as one of the fourteen safe zones.

Humadas/Hamadas, Dracadas and Viradas

Since the beginning of Feiti's time, these three species of vampire have lived in conflict with humans and wizards. All three species lived together, with the Hamadas and Dracadas ruling a coallition and the Viradas acting as a slave and army class. The Hamadas [or Humadas as named in the official human recognition of the Hamadas], are the tribe closest to Feitian humans. The Hamadas are vampires who can control their thirst for blood the best and can survive even in strong sunlight. In the 18th century the Hamadas made a massive attack against the humans on Johnson City and Prince Town, killing thousands. The dispute was over a previous conflict between the Hamadas and the Dracadas - the Hamadas wanted more rights and more influence on politics in Feiti, whereas the Dracadas despised any race that wasn't vampire. It seemed as though the Hamadas would have approached the humans civilly, however an insult that Arthur Black had made in a speech in Prince Town ['vampires do not deserve civil recognition'] sparked off an offensive lead by Mikhail Hessin. Hessin and Sandra Gustav signed a deal in 1913 giving the Hamadas tribe civil rights enjoyed by humans and wizards, but not recognising the Dracadas and Viradas tribes. This lead to the Dracadas feeling as if they were betrayed by the Hamadas. Over time, the Hamadas was known as Humadas [because humans felt it was closer to the word 'human'] and Humadas vampires were integrated into safe zones and mainstream society. The government also provided free 'blood banks' where the Humadas could get their daily provision of blood provided they did not harm innocent people [which rarely happened anyway]. The Dracadas, however, are a race of vampire who cannot control their thirst for blood so well, but can speak good Feitian and are just as intelligent as the Humadas. The Dracadas are also the only species who can transform into a bat. The tribe quickly became weak once they'd lost the support of the Humadas. This lead the Dracadas to flee the battle frontier and live a life of solitude in Garrana and northern Saum. A legendary leader of the Dracada tribe, Lucida, is said to live an eternal existence in a highly protected lair deep beneath the Garrana Island. There have been several unsuccessful attempts by the Dracadas to assassinate Feitian leaders and commit other crimes within the safe zones, however the tribe is at present reported dormant. The Viradas tribe are the most virilant and the most dangerous race of vampire, completely unable to control their thirst for blood, unable to speak any language and unable to survive in sunlight. They would attack anything with blood. After the Dracadas fled for Garrana, the Viradas were forced to retreat into the Northern Plains red zone. They have since become even more animalistic, loitering around the borders of Prince Town outside of the safe zone for their next kill. Although the government does not recognise the Dracadas or the Viradas, the White Corp has conducted extensive research on captured and contained Viradas vampires.

Amethine and Teleportation

In Feiti, Amethine is a pink-coloured raw source of ore used to enable citizens to teleport. In ancient times, it has been recorded that Amethine was a feared substance that witches in Yulan would use to punish captured men. In 2070 The Academy for Wizardry and The Academy for Atomic Studies teamed together to learn more about it. Two years later, after scholars found evidence in the Desert Books, a student wizard name Furan Alhazar proved that by placing four lumps of Amethine in a square shape, and by stepping into the centre of this square, the traveler would 'disappear' and be teleported to somewhere else. Unfortunately, the vastness of teleportation was not understood fully in the 2070s, and Alhazar is still to this day missing. A national expedition then began to trace all the locations of Amethine and station research centres at each 'port' ['port' meaning four Amethine rocks placed in a square shape]. Over time there became less and less likeliness of becoming lost, and it was discovered in 2082 that ports were in pairs, and teleportation was a process of travelling from A to B or from B to A. Today, all teleportation ports have been officially tested and confirmed safe before being permitted public use. The largest resources of Amethine are deep underground southeast of Rituania's largest island, however this area is restricted to government access only. Teleportation is free to use and the main safe zone ports are:

Rodrigo <-> Prince Town Port
Rodrigo <-> St. Arthur's City Port
Rodrigo <-> Johnson City Port
Saum <-> Prince Town Port
Neonai <-> Saum Port
Neonai <-> Yulan Port
Johnson City <-> St. Arthur's City Port
Emeline <-> St. Arthur's City Por
Irma <-> St. Arthur's City Port
Olivia <-> St. Arthur's City Port

There are also ports in the red zone, however they are not officially recognised and are prone to tampering.

Diplomatic Information

Feiti's relations with other nations have only recently came about. Domestically, the most recent form of diplomacy has been between the mainland and the islands of Rituania off the eastern coast. The Feitian government wanted to invest heavily in Rituania's abundant fishing and ore extracting industries, however there was fierce resistance from the Rituanians who feared becoming victims of big corporations. Despite their initial worries, Rituania later signed a pact, thanks to diplomatic efforts, which allowed the mainland certain areas of land to use to attract foreign currency. In return the government agreed to abide by strict environmental, cultural and territorial rules that were created by a coallition-style board of diplomats from both the mainland and Rituania. Now the two communities share equal profits.

These are the current stats on diplomacy regarding Feiti:

Number of Feitian Embassies Abroad/Foreign Embassies in Feiti: 7
Office Staff Of Feitian Origin: 7
Security Personel Of Feitian Origin: 12

The Federation of Bavin
The Kingdom of Phillippanoa
The Nation of Niur
Rashuta
The Sovereign Communal Union of Pevisopolis

List Of Current Active Feitian Ambassadors

Colo Kim, ambassador to Rashuta
Tagra del Sei, ambassador to The Kingdom of Phillippanoa
Terry Philistine, ambassador to The City of Norfolk
Krenta Holm, ambassador to The Commonwealth of Storm Round

The Red Corp/Red Corporation

The result of The Purple Party's improved security against red zone hostiles, Red Corp is a government-run police force protecting the citizens of Feitian safe zones. It is made up of about 200,000 officers who are, among other things, experienced in vehicle operations, weapons use and basic combat. After a recent cut from 420,000 officers to the current 200,000, the Red Corp's challenges on the northern borders of Prince Town and Johnson City have become increasingly difficult.
