My greater issue with the school system is they work with cops to put kids in prison for having weed or ciggies on them.

Same here. American schools also teach children that America was always great. They teach a sanitised, propagandist version of US history.

Tbf, My school does tell us the wrong the United States did in later grades.

I'm a US History teacher in America.

No the fuck we don't. At least not in my district or any district I've examined or worked with. Hence why it is lazy to make sweeping generalizations about the American school system.

We are run district by district. And there are hundreds of districts. Each with it's own curriculum standards, funding, and culture.

We teachers are not the stupid fucking lemmings that some people seem to think we are, we DO fight to use updated material and pedagogy, and we are usually pretty committed to teaching critical thinking to our kids.

They will let anyone teach, or each teachers, if they have the correct types of opinions.. no matter how extreme or deranged.
