Relevant in particular to R/D and WA players: update will initially be disabled when gameside does go live again. That means no Delegacy changes, WA resolution voting ending, or non-quorate WA proposals expiring, until we re-enable updates.

We will likely extend CTE timers as well.

Hey Sedge, I know that sometimes update and other timers (such as the WA chambers and card auction timers) do still exist in the background still keep on running despite us not having access. Could you let us know if any "updates" occured or which timers kept going and for how long? Aka did resulutions pass or proposals drop out of the queue?

I can't answer that, but have asked a Tech/Admin to respond when they have a chance.

Perhaps the opposite thought to what anyone who has invested in cards might be thinking, but any thought been put in towards the idea of simply starting cards over from scratch entirely with a new season? The only tweak I'd make given the loss of cards we'd have is ensuring that CTE'd nation S1/2/3 legendary cards don't see a pull-odds drop for being CTE'd.

Cards data is some of the most heavily transacted data that we have -- as a result, it's particularly vulnerable to data corruption when we have database struggles. In this particular instance, it's because the disk that the card data was stored on was the one that failed. We're thinking through better ways to keep our storage protected -- unfortunately, this was the single disk that wasn't in RAID.

We've had four admins and four tech mods involved so far, plus other moderators helping manage information flow to communities.

They aren't served from the same database. I'm not going to explain how our entire infrastructure works, but I promise you, not the same database under the hood.

No nations have been lost. The inability to log in is because the nations you're trying to log into from forumside don't have a forum ID, so our hack to let you log in *now* can't work as the forum can't communicate with the game to generate a forum ID.

No nations have been lost. The inability to log in is because the nations you're trying to log into from forumside don't have a forum ID, so our hack to let you log in *now* can't work as the forum can't communicate with the game to generate a forum ID.
