[Q]Why is there not a birthdate field on signup?

Given that the forums are 13+, we could just block access to under 13s by just making them put in their birthdate and not have to have the under 13 person get reported! Of course they could lie, but, however, as someone who was mis-identified as an under 13 once, you just have to put in your birthdate in the GHR, so why not do it on sign up, and avoid this whole thing! Of course, since this seems pretty obvious, I have a feeling someone suggested this and you said no? Just wanna know why!

My guess is that just like we used to do with Newgrounds, Steam, and many other websites, kids would just put 2000-1-1 as their birth date and be done with it.

That and... well, if you need to verify your DOB, things will escalate like needing your national ID, which is a very big can of worms.
