NEKSE was created in 1980 by James Wilmfred, Patrick Jennings and Thomas Carrington, the heads of the three most powerful stock broker firms at the time. They met and negotiated at the Wilmoff Hotel in Williamsburg, D.K. and eventually formed the Wilmoff Agreement, which created the National Klentian Stock Exchange. In 1994, after the division of Klent into Centaurian West Klent and Cuban East Klent, the Board of Directors at NKSE decided to rename it the National East Klentian Stock Exchange, and has remained that way for the past seventeen years.

NEKSE was originally located at the Hartbond Building on 3765 West Calridge Street in D.K. but the building was damaged beyond repair during the Independence War (2008-2010). NEKSE was then moved to its current location on 1492-1512 Aldaira Road in February of 2011.

The National East Klentian Stock Exchange, or NEKSE, is the major holding company for East Klent and promotes the trade of shares for Klentian businesses. Two noteworthy businesses are the airliner KlentAir, and the automobile manufacturer Qua Automotives. On November 4th, 2011, NEKSE entered a strategic partnership with the Indonesian Empire Stock Exchange, IEXE, and now shares of international businesses such as Thompson Construction Inc. and the Reserve Bank of Indonesia may be traded through NEKSE.
