Qap had been ruled for 60 years by a dictatorship, 60 years of terror and hardship and oppression had seemingly broken the populace of Qap into submission. General Uraq Qan and his military Junta had taken over Qap through a coup and had imposed his relentless Communist regime on the populace. Eventually General Qan believed the populace had submitted to their fate, then it happened. It started with a few school kids starting a small protest for more food rations from the government, then the parents joined in, and soon the whole country had joined in protesting the government and in response General Qan did the only reasonable thing, bomb the protesters. This strategy had worked in the past with other protests, but it didn't work this time, the country exploded into violence, the military splintered into factions supporting different groups while the Junta tried to keep order, unfortunately it was to late for order.

Within days three factions had arisen, The Communist MIlitary Junta, the Liberal Democratic Socialist Front, and a large amount of groups that had formed the Coalition for Democracy in Qap. While the war started with small firefights on the streets of major cities, it had escalated to full scale warfare with territory being claimed and fought over, with the war escalating, international intervention will soon become necessary and Qapese government members and rebels send out desperate communiques for help.

The Liberal Socialist Front(LSF): The LSF believes that the system of communism that the Junta used was flawed, but it can be fixed, they would like for a Democratic Socialist Republic with free elections. They have a large-ish fighting force made up of volunteers and militias, they lack equipment, firepower, and manpower.

The Democratic Republic of Qap(DRQ): The Democratic Republic of Qap is the military junta led by Uraq Qan, they have bee in power for 60 years and have oppressed the Qapese people with a corrupt system where all money and objects are handled and distributed by the higher ups in the Junta. They have control of the Military, but a large amount of military members split from the government to work with rebels. They have more advanced equipment, but it is outdated by modern standards.

The Coalition for Democracy in Qap(CDQ): The CDQ is very similar to the LSF except they feel that the system of socialism as a whole is wrong and that Qap should use a free market system with free elections. The CDQ is lacking in everything, their equipment is very outdated, they are low on manpower and their morale is even lower.

The Capital of Qap is Qaaj, it is populated by 122,000 Qapese citizens, currently it is the main battleground of the Civil War with all 3 groups having a presence in the city.

Currently several nations have provided support to all sides, including the LSF, however such support appears to be limited and poorly implemented. Our intelligence gathering capabilities have been enhanced by the near universal lack of detailed planning with the exception of The Federation of Rostoria. From what information we have currently gathered they seem to be limiting their involvement to supporting The Coalition for Democracy (CDQ) with humanitarian aid, as such our goals will likely coincide in several possible operations.

CURRENT OBJECTIVES:

1: Make formal contact with the LSF leadership, assess their needs and respond based on said needs.

2: Establish a naval presence in the region to facilitate potential operations.

3: Insert intelligence assets to gain first hand intel, recommend utilizing civilian aid efforts to insert agents.

4: Locate ideal locations for humanitarian aid, and arrange delivery and security of aid.

5: Mobilize the 12th Infantry Parachute Brigade and 2nd Strategic Transport Squadron for deployment as needed.

This report is a basic and brief overview for the proposed Operation Crimson, further reports will provide details on specific aspects as needed.

Every soldier under her command had at least twelve jumps under their belt, each had marksmanship badges and had completed a full tour in the KRA before being selected for the 12th. They where waiting, placed on standby for some CCV operation, apparently they might be dropped into Qap, some little group of islands on the other side of the world. If they deployed they would be helping some little rebellion gain control of the nation or at least part of it. Only time would tell what was to come next.....

"They're not even trying to hide their involvement are they?" Chairman Maria Smith's voice had a questioning tone. The latest briefing included satellite photos of cargo ships unloading men and equipment in Qap.

A young man in a well fitting suit nodded and gestured to a row of armoured vehicles. "As you can see there's a wide variety of armour here, but the tank force has us confused, they appear to be Panther 2s, the design is at least 70 years old and completely outdated, their main armaments where deadly in their time but will barely scratch modern composite armour, and every vehicle mounted cannon in our inventory can penetrate their frontal plates." He paused, thinking for a moment. "From what I gathered over penetration will likely occur if we use sabot darts, likely we'll need to issue HEAT or HESH shells to guarantee a reliable kill if it gets ugly."

Maria nodded, a sinister smirk crossing her normally elegant face. "The 12th has been issued our new RGL-3s, we'll make sure to drop extra 120mm HEAT rounds for them, its time we taught a lesson to these arrogant fools in the German-Eurpean Union, we'll show them a warm welcome to the 21st century."

Captain Graham was an old sea dog, in his forty-three years he had sailed everything from trash barges his current charge the Helicopter Carrier KNC Fortune. She had started life as a 400 meter long container ship, now her holds where hangers and troop quarters, her deck was leveled into a vast landing pad for up to a dozen utility helicopters. She wasn't a true warship however, with only eight AK-630 rotary cannons for point defence, no the main fire power came from her escorts, six Argos Class destroyers and six Rebirth Class frigates. The fleet wasn't overly threatening but there was no doubt they could put up a nasty fight if cornered. All this was in the Captain's mind as they drew ever closer to Qap's territorial waters, officially they were to operate in a support role, airlifting humanitarian aid with their compliment of 24 Mil-8s, but everyone knew that if things escalated then they would be in the thick of things...

General Marqa Namsa and the highest ranking officials of the CDQ sat in a bunker in the city. Shells, artillery, and gunfire could be heard outside with the occasional scream of terror, or a stray bullet hitting the ground above. General Namsa broke the silence at the table "Does anyone have any news about the...situation we seem to be having." At this the Chief of Security spoke up, "It seems that a group calling themselves 'The European Federation' has come to our aid. They have sent advisors and heavy arms and apparently they will be sending a naval taskforce as well." "Good, all is good." Replied General Namsa, "When the fleet arrives, we will need them to help our plan to retake Qataab."

Qataab

The citizens of Qataab looked out at the waters, on the sea was a sight that they had seen only a few times, and unlike the other times where a few outdated destroyers fired blanks during military parades, these ships seemed legit. Many civilians and military members tried to get close to the shore to see what flag these ships could be waving. The people seemed relived that perhaps some international aid was coming to help them and a few brave souls tried swimming out to the ships. Then the guns fired. The people on the shore went from having hope to running for their lives. Shells slammed into the shoreline and into the outskirts of the city. Within minutes Qataab's once beautiful shores and scenic coast line were ruined, the bodies of many were spread across the ground, military and civilian alike.

After hearing of such horrifying news, the mayor of Qataab contemplated surrender, but surrender was a cowardly option and after much convincing he was persuaded to fight. One of the only real naval patrols was sent out to delay the elite naval forces, 5 small patrol boats armed with machine guns. All DRQ presence in the areas surrounding Qataab were called into the city to fortify for the inevitable upcoming battle...

The helicopters landed and out strolled soldiers that seemed like the exact opposite of the 50 or so CDQ guards surrounding the airbase. The guards looked ragtag with no real gear or uniform, only an AK-22 hanging from their arms. While the soldiers exiting the helicopter seemed organized, ready for action, and had more modern weapons. Upon leaving the helicopter, the forces were greeted by a large man covered with scars, he greeted them happily, but then got down to business, "LSF forces are closing in on Qwabi, they are firing down on use from the mountains and are slowly pushing into our territory, if possible, we need some help."

The equipment had arrived, a ton of equipment, the second highest general in the Junta, Kariq Qab, looked over the transfer of equipment. reading over the paper he had been handed on what equipment he would be gaining he stopped at the mention of Panther II tanks. "Panther IIs, seems a bit outdated. Even our garbage T-90s can do better, what do they expect us to do. Ah well, at Ieast we have fighter jets.

LSF Controlled Qaaj

Soros Udam stood in the empty bombed building, he and a few other high ranking generals had taken up residence here. Soros Udam was 74 and had been fighting the corrupt government since 14. He had seen it all, the first rebellion when the Junta had come to power had been crushed. The rebellions when the Congress was disbanded, he had seen it. He had risen to power in the LSF nearly 30 years ago and had not wavered in preparing a civil war plan. Now that the war was occurring, the plan was put in action. If the LSF could take control of the 4 major cities of Qap, the main war would be over. Only a few towns would remain and it could all be taken back over time. Udam had heard about global powers giving support, but he hadn't heard much in support for the LSF. "If we are going to win this war, support is necessary. If someone needs to contact us, we have a system of informants in any major populated area. We need people to know how to get to us and help us."

It was crazy, almost suicidally so, landing an An-72 STOL on a civilian grass airstrip in the dark, within artillery range of an active warzone. They had trained for this though, the KRA pilots specialized in nocturnal operations, a year earlier a helicopter gunship squadron had shown this in Malakastan, it was said that the Malakstanis owned the day and Kerberos owned the night. Tonight was no different, they had come in low, nearly at wave height, so low that they could smell the salty water below, high above a prototype Rapier Blacksword recon aircraft relayed navagation data while orbiting the area. Even so Agent Falker was not happy, she hated flying, knowing the danger she sat rigid in her seat, staring at the floor.

"Hey Falker, having fun?" The mocking voice of one of the paratroopers was a humiliating bonus to her misery. Another voice echoed through the plane over the speakers. "RED LIGHT!" As one the thirty paratroopers assumed crash positions, and moments later the voice echoed again. "30 SECONDS!"

The landing was rough, it almost felt like a crash as the AN-72 bounced across the ground, then, suddenly they slowed to a stop and the rear ramp whirred to life. "GREEN LIGHT! GO GO GO!" Training took over, Falker undid her seatbelt and scrambled into the open truck in front of her, the paratroopers did the same, clambering over cargo, seconds later the three trucks drove onto the field as the plane revved its twin engines, before turning and speeding into the darkness. Moments later the sound of the transport was fading into the distance, they were alone in LSF territory, thirty paratroopers, an Ishtar Agent and three trucks loaded with supplies and ammunition. Now all they could do is find the LSF...

The young soldier holding the flashlight speaks first.

A confused face of someone no older than 24 can be made out, he is holding a Mosin M91/30 Rifle. The five soldiers from the back fo the BMD-4 also peer curiously at the new arrivals, they carry AR-15s, and most of their gear is mismatching, Gulf war camoflague smocks, Feldgrau coat, flecktarn helmet. On the frontal Glacis plate is a flag draped on, the flag is a Burgundy cross with a red stat and hammer and sickle emblazoned on it, it was the FSSF flag. They stare silently at the 30 paratroopers. The young soldier holding the flashlight speaks first.

The soldier fumbles with the light, finally turning it off. He radios back to base.
"Eyup, high command says you guys are with the LSF too. Come with us. We have... Fire support." He gestures at the BMD-4, the rifled grooves of the 2a72's 30mm barrel glinting in the moonlight beside the 100mm ATGM-firing main gun. He clambers onto the engine deck as the troops in the back close their hatches.

Several DRQ soldiers had been stationed in a village nearby where the landing occurred. Upon hearing loud trucks near the village the soldiers were ordered to head out and do a small check on what the noise was. The captain leading the patrol thought it was just some smugglers or vandals and told his soldiers not to be worried, but when they approached the area that they had heard the noise and saw lights they became more alert. "Everyone, no noise." The captain whispered to his troops. "When we get close enough I want you to open fire, just try to hit any enemies you can see." The nervous squad of soldiers nodded and prepared to move out....

The Kalitrian Government sends a Aircraft carrier with 8 bombers and 8 fighter jets to bomb the shore of Qataab at all the fornications and all other targets including hospitals to lower morale and send 3 officers to help the LSF in training

Qataab

The bombs fell early in the morning, many civilians were just waking up and getting ready to aid in defense of the city when they heard the noise, the roar of jets over the sky. The populace, blissful and unaware still thought that perhaps they were getting aid, yet again they were wrong. Bombs bean falling on the city, a city that was already in a state of disarray just got worse. The bombs hit hospitals full of wounded people, they hit large apartments holding hundreds of scared civilians, they hit everywhere. Considering the DRQ had no form of air defense what so ever there was nothing to do but fire their small arms at the sky or run for cover. Within hours the city is filled with collapsed buildings and rubble. And even worse than the buildings was the fact that the population had been decimated. Thousands dead, electricity knocked out, no transport, Qataab was quickly turning into a hell on earth.

“Few unidentified men, armed, they seem to have taken note of our convoy, I can’t make out what they’re saying but they definitely see us” Remarked the gunner, he was looking through IR optics. He hops back into the turret. A muffled exchange of guttural German can be heard inside the hull. The gunner once again opens the hatch and asks a question?
“Shoot first or ask first?” Pondered the gunner.

Falker ran to the side of the BMD, as she got close the crew of the vehicle could see that she was wearing night vision goggles. "Hold position, one of my sections is going hunting." As she finished speaking the paratroopers spread out into a loose skirmish line as a group of eight Kerberosians vanished into the darkness. As they drew closer to the DRQ soldiers the section of KRA troops could make out the DRQ markings on the uniforms of the approaching troops. Sergeant Gomez signalled a retreat with a quick hand gesture as the section fell back to the road and their allies. Gomez tuned her short range radio and whispered into it as they moved. "DRQ troops, moving our way, we're coming to you Agent." Agent Falker turned to the FSSF soldiers and spoke in a low voice. "We have DRQ inbound, want to set up a welcome for them?"

Qataab(or the ruins of it)

After bombings and shelling that had decimated Qataab the populace thought that it was over. The DRQ presence in the city seemed close to collapse, the people were starving and dying, and then it was announced that the foreigners were on their way to finish the city off. As soon as he heard the announcement he was devastated, he knew there wasn't much to do for Qataab. "Perhaps we can just ask for surrender" He asked his council, "Apparently the Kalitrians are offering no quarter, may I suggest arming the populace and fighting till the end." responded one of the council members. Just then they heard a roar outside, a guard at the door yelled "Bomb shelter, now." But after a few minutes in the shelter and they hadn't felt the shocks of exploding bombs they risked a peak outside, then they saw something that was a temporary joy to the people of Qataab, MiG-41s and SU-43s emblazoned with the logos of the DRQ. They roared towards the Kalitrian assault to try to give some payback. While this was occurring a small patrol boat was docking at the demolished shores of Qataab.

"What the hell happened here." Remarked the military member, "You don't want to know." replied a local, "What do you have in that there boat." The military member responded quickly "Weaponry, just rifles for now, we just need to hold out until General Qan works it all out."
