INTERVIEW WITH P.L. PADRAIG - MUSIC

The People's Leader, Colom Padraig, answers various questions about his taste in music, his experience with music, and his opinions on it.

What music do you generally listen to?

I prefer slower traditional songs, usually without lyrics.

Does your leader play an instrument?

I do.

If so. then which one?

I play The Clachan, a traditional instrument made from several different kinds of wood found in the Highlands.

If he/she does play an instrument, is your leader particularly skilled at it?

Not especially.

Anything noteworthy related to you and music:

No, there isn't.

Firnean space program underway

In a statement held by Firnea's chancellor Havard Gyldenløve, it is being declared that the Kingdom of Firnea has launched their own space program called Space Research Administration of Firnea, SRAF for short. It is implied the newly founded institution will primarily focus on terrestrially based research, though Gyldenløve stated that, as time progresses, there will be intentions to establish a department dedicated to manned spaceflight.

"Humanity is nowhere near being able to establish civilization on a planet other than the one we call our home right now", Gyldenløve said. "However, the time will inevitably arrive, eventually. The earlier we channel all of our intelligence, creativity, and giftedness towards creating a brighter future for all of humanity, the more likely we are to succeed. Our vision is ambitious indeed, as well as it is going to be expensive. However, there is no price too high to secure the continued existence of mankind. Though we may vary in gender, age, and beliefs, we are not as different as agitators and populists may suggest."

The breaking news have mostly been received with acclaim by the Firnean populace, albeit economists note the program may, ironically enough, become "a financial black hole" to the entiry of the Firnean kingdom.

"The Firnean people have worked hard to create financial and economical stability for decades. I don't see how it can be decided so recklessly that an endeavor as risque as this would be worth putting all of that on the line", says Dr. Harald Ingvartsen, professor of economics at Ransholt University, supported by a large selection of fellow economists. "It is a shame that elections are due in March; perhaps, the Firneans would draw adequate conclusions from what this decision is going to cause, if only we had more time to watch this development occur."

Additionally, Chancellor Gyldenløve has implied that Firnean foreign minister Morgana Nordberg will release a press release of her own rather shortly, possibly hinting at newly established diplomatic relations. No further comments have been made on the issue, however.

A new alliance

Following yesterday's breaking news from Eldur, Chancellor Havard Gyldenløve has issued another press release, announcing the establishment of the Preservation of Future Alliance, called PFA in short. As the title would suggest, its members, namely Firnea and Blancor, aim to work together in matters of science, research, and development, as well as for joint educational purposes.

However, Gyldenløve has also made it clear that the PFA will establish a tariff union, hence simplifying trade between the member nations, especially with full intent to support the struggling Blancorian economy.

Finally, the member nations of the PFA will establish a defensive military alliance, meaning that any nation becoming a target of another nation outside of the PFA will, in any case, receive military support from its fellow member nations, while offensive acts of war will not be supported.

"This is a splendid opportunity for both Firnea and Blancor to build towards a brighter future in many different aspects", Gyldenløve way quoted saying. "I have had fruitful and productive talks with President Scofield, and clearly enough, we share the same vision. Perhaps, other nations will follow suit, one day."

As part of the press release, Firnean foreign minister Morgana Nordberg has opened diplomatic channels with the nation of Illionar, declaring an offer to establish mutual embassies. Additionally, Nordberg has invited Illionar's foreign minister, Alexander Obrenović, to Eldur for further conversation.

(This post has been made with agreement of Blancor.)

Status of recession in Chantia

Economic support provided for business

The Chantian economy has been in a recession for the past few years and the government has been trying to find ways to get it back on track. In recent months, there have been talks of providing economic support for businesses in order to help them survive through this tough time. This blog article will discuss the economic support provided for business and the upsides of such a policy.

The recession in Chantia
The economy of Chantia has been in a state of recession for the past few months. This has been largely due to the economic downturn in the global markets and the crash if chantian stock market, which has affected the country's exports and imports. As a result, unemployment has risen and the government's revenue has decreased significantly. This has put a strain on the government's ability to provide financial support to businesses, leaving them struggling to stay afloat.

The recession has been particularly hard on small businesses, who often lack access to the resources needed to stay afloat. With fewer resources and fewer customers, these businesses are often forced to cut back on staff, services, and products in order to survive. This has resulted in a decrease in economic activity and an overall decrease in the quality of life for Chantians.

Business bailed out
In order to combat the recession, the government of Chantia has committed to bailing out select businesses. This bail out includes providing financial assistance to businesses that are struggling to stay afloat. The government has provided loans and grants to businesses, which can be used to pay for rent, salaries, and other operating costs. In addition, the government has also provided tax incentives to businesses in order to encourage them to invest in their operations.

The government is also offering financial assistance to businesses in the form of grants and loans. Grants are provided to businesses that are in need of financial assistance, and can be used to pay for rent, salaries, and other operating costs. Loans are provided to businesses that need capital to expand their operations or to purchase new equipment.

Economic support provided for business
In order to provide economic support to businesses, the government has implemented a variety of measures. These measures include providing financial assistance to businesses, offering tax incentives, and introducing new regulations.

The government has provided loans and grants to businesses in order to help them stay afloat. These loans and grants can be used to pay for rent, salaries, and other operating costs. In addition, the government has also provided tax incentives to businesses, which can be used to invest in their operations.

The government has also introduced new regulations in order to protect businesses from unfair practices. These regulations include rules on unfair competition, consumer protection, and environmental protection. In addition, the government has increased the number of inspections in order to ensure that businesses are adhering to the regulations.

Finally, the government has also implemented programs to help businesses with their marketing efforts. These programs include providing funds for advertising, providing advice on marketing strategies, and offering discounts on marketing materials.

Upsides of the Economic support
The economic support provided for business has had a number of positive effects. Firstly, it has allowed businesses to stay afloat during the recession, which has kept the economy from further decline. This has allowed businesses to keep their staff employed and has prevented further job losses.

The economic support has also allowed businesses to invest in their operations. This has allowed them to expand their operations and purchase new equipment, which has helped to increase the number of products and services they are able to offer. This has helped to boost the economy as a whole, as businesses are now able to create more jobs and earn more revenue.

Finally, the economic support has provided businesses with the resources they need to compete in the market. This has allowed them to remain competitive and has helped to keep prices low for consumers. This has helped to stimulate the economy and has allowed businesses to remain profitable during the recession.

Overall, the economic support provided for business has been beneficial for the economy of Chantia. It has allowed businesses to stay afloat, invest in their operations, and remain competitive in the market. This has helped to stimulate the economy and has allowed businesses to remain profitable during the recession. The business economic support provided by the Chantian government has been a great success and has helped to ensure the country’s economic stability.

The GVRail Project: doomed from the start?
Mounting pressure on the government in Pendragon to cancel overbudget, overdue plans has led many to question whether it was all worth it

Image
Concept art for the GVRail Project

When announced in 2018, the Grande Vitesse Rail project (GVRail, for short) was the pinnacle of the "union state" initiative brought in by the First Secretary of State, Archibald Wilson, in order to re-energise the union between the United Kingdom of Syrasia and Plantagenia, as well as connect the Imperial Territories of the New Domains to the heart of the Empire. Miles of newly-built or re-used tracks would serve the new lines stretching from Aberfoyle to Whitesea in Albaland, and then from Savlon (Plantagenia) through to La Malbaie.

Despite the first leg of the project having the due completion date of 2021, GVRail has still not even reached Whitesea, with approximately 54 miles of track being laid down and only 7 miles of refurbished track having being completed as of this reports writing. Work on the new Aberfoyle New Street station has also ground to a halt, with the Lord Mayor, Joe Whitticombe, having being tried for fraudulent behaviour with handing out contracts.

This was just the first in a series of embarassments that Pendragon has faced in the wake of beginning this ambitious infrastructure scheme. Farming communities within the Albian midlands have threatened to sue the central government if any tracks are laid down on their land, and various MPs have also vowed to not back the project if it runs through their electoral district. Wilson has made a concise effort to continue to support the project, claiming that "the train goes, I go" in a famous televised interview with Syrasia Worldwide, but even his Cabinet seem skeptical of GVRail, with the Minister for Transport and Haulage, Louis Dussopt claiming it is "not a given" that the original plans for the GVRail go ahead.

Many in the public have voiced concern over the fact that GVRail seems to be an utter "waste of money", with a hilariously viral clip of elderly pensioner Geneviève Wargon explosively claiming "it better bloody have a funeral the same time as me". His Imperial Majesty has remained mysteriously quiet over the issues facing the project, having only briefly mentioned that "whatever is in the interests of my domains I shall fulfil" in a press conference last month.

It is suspected that, if the project is cancelled, many will call for Wilson to resign.

An Overview on the 30-Year-Plan

Postby Tir nan Gaidheal » Sun Feb 26, 2023 10:27 am

An Overview of the 30-Year-Plan

People's Leader Colom Padraig thinks back on his childhood and the history of Tir nan Gaidheal.

"Back when I was born, in Beinn Òg, Gleann Fhionnain, Tir nan Gaidheal was a rural backwater for kind words. In Beinn Òg, everyone knew us, and we knew everyone. On Independence Day, 1964, quite a time before I was born, a wealthy family living on the edge of Gleann Fhionnain had the wise idea to present a basket of gifts to my family - they weren't just any gifts, either - they were symbols of an ancient past, as Duncan Alaistar put, 'the last breaths of a dying Gaeloid empire.' I couldn't have said it better."

He goes on, saying:

"It was a microcosm of that last empire - the Tir nan Gaidheal before Syrasia, before the centuries of colonialism and destruction of our culture and the near destruction of our language. My father did not speak a lick of Ghadlig - even as a bus driver, when his hat read 'Aonad Trèanaichean Shibhilean,' which meant 'Civilian Transport Unit.' It was my mother that carried on the culture. She saw a future of a country that was uncertain, and my father, who never completely believed she married him, only saw her. There was a time where it seemed like the Ghadlig, in their original state, would die out and be left instead by Syrasian migrants and homesick Gaileich (See: New Prydai).

It's important we view the history of our nation through the lends of the history that it stems from - we are fresh out of our grueling war with the Empire, and the land is left scorched and deflated of resources, all sucked out by the Syrasian empire so many centuries before. At the backend of the Poppy Fields War, Tir nan Gaidheal was a mass of rural backwaters and heritage preservation sites. In 1958, the 30-Year-Plan had been finished, nearly quadrupling the population, industry, and military size. It has been described as feeling like another world -- a world of fantastical sciences and innovations -- landed on the green pastures and highlands of Tir nan Gaidheal.

While we stay firmly on the modern world stage, enjoying luxuries which our fathers-fathers and their fathers before them did not, it is important to know where we had come from, and what brought us here. If it were not for the determination of our starving forefathers, we may not have succeeded -- not only as a nation, but as a people.

Thank you."

Illionar Today
Economic expansion and governmental changes

Investment found for the expansion of the Motorož International Airport and construction of a new airport

The Motorož International Airport has been the busiest airport in Illionar ever since it's construction in 1928. Troughout the years, business grew and after being partially acquired by the Illionar Airlines Corporation, it saw steady growth in business, reaching Illionar record-breaking business numbers in the late 1990s. However, with business growth came it's limitations. Expansion of the Motorož airport was severely lacking relative to the growth of air travel in Illionar.

Construction of the neighbouring Primož Gajsar Airport in Pulska Vas, just a few minutes north of Motorož, in 1997 helped lessen the strain of the growing business off of Motorož, but the problems began arising again towards the end of the 2000s. In 2020, the Illionar Aviation Authority convened in Muja in order to discuss the matter of aviation infrastructure and how it could be modernized. The conference ended with the agreed construction of a second international airport would be constructed in the southeastern area of Motorož, which was becoming a new up-and-coming industrial zone for Illionar businessmen. Backed by the State Investment Fund as well as thirty-three private investment firms, the Illionar Aviation Authority secured upwards of C$4 billion of investment for the construction of the new airport, planned to be constructed in the Priviška district in southwestern Motorož.

For the Motorož International Airport, Illionar Airlines offered to increase it's investment and buy an additional 10% of the government stake in the company with Zlata Zvijezda Airways also proposing a bid to buy 10% of the airport and increase it's investment pool. The total would come to an increase of C$1.2 billion under condition that the funds would go into modernizing navigation equipment as well as the expansion of the infrastructure to cope with the increased air traffic. Construction is expected to take place within the coming months with confidence that the expansion of the airport could be done by the end of 2024/2025.

Administrative shifts following the re-election of the IDP

The 2022 election ended with the majority of the National Assembly being dominated by the Illionar Democratic Party, which was now led by 46-year-old Mladen Perak. Upon his election to the position of Prime Minister, the Left Movement put forward accusations of ballet box stuffing as well as using underhand tactics to win the majority of the National Assembly. The Social Democratic Party of Illionar formed a socialist coalition along with the Left Movement and after talks broke down in 2020 between the formation of a coalition between the IDS and the Conservative Movement, the socialist coalition now held the second largest number of seats in the National Assembly as well as sixteen seats of the eighty-six seats in the National Council.

Investigations also amounted into the goings on of the incumbent Minister of Finance Ivo Klarić, who was accused of embezzling upwards of C$660 million worth of assets from the government. This coincided with the government willingness to further investigate the issue of government corruption in Illionar ever since the conviction of government minister Juraj Trobić of fraud in early 2018.

With the strong socialist coalition in the National Assembly, the recently proposed "Gold Coin Act" to reduce government intervention in the utility sector was firmly shot down in the National Council as the IDS failed to reach a majority vote and so it was passed on. This resulted in the government holding ownership stake in the water and power sector as well as enforcing the 28th Bill Article, which discouraged private ownership of utility businesses. This was met with protests from small business owners, which only increased ever since the Barbara Water & Power vs. Illionar case, that went to trial in the early 2010s over business ownership in the utility sector.

PFA expansion to be made official as Tir nan Gaidheal joins the alliance

"A great opportunity for Violetia", Queen Saga I says

by: Ragnhild Jørgensen

In a joint press conference led by both Queen Saga I, and Chancellor Havard Gyldenløve, it has been made known that, following negotiations with TNG People's Leader Colom Padraig, the nation of Tir nan Gaidheal will join the Preservation of Future Alliance, becoming the third member nation in the process.

"The People's Leader clearly shares the vision that Firnea has, seeking to create grounds for a future worth living for countless generations to come", the Queen stated. "By inviting Tir nan Gaidheal to join the PFA, we are looking to continue our long-time international partnership and strengthen the bonds between our proud nations.

The PFA is a great opportunity for Violetia, as we hope many other people will see, eventually. I extend my gratitude to Colom Padraig, and wish him and his great nation all the best in their upcoming endeavors. It shall be known that the Kingdom of Firnea stands being Tir nan Gaidheal, as it does behind Blancor."

In a related interview, Ghàidhlig People's Leader Colom Padraig commented: "Our ties with the Firnean people have persisted for decades. I have seen quite a few Firnean leaders come and go, and while we also do have our fair share of differences, we have decided to focus on our commonalities, now more than ever."

Illionar Today
Financial trouble for Zlata Zvijezda Corporation

The Zlata Zvijezda Corporation has been the leading manufacturing corporation for Illionar products on the international market. From motorcycles to aircraft, the company has been one of the most prominent Illionar businesses ever since the early 20th century. However, in recent times due to an economic downturn in the 1990s as well a drop in competitive form on the Illionar market, the corporation found itself on tight finances heading into the 2020s. In early 2022, due to a poor sales quarter of their civilian aircraft, Zlata Zvijezda was forced to downsize it's civil aviation division. The financial situation hit a new low in the second quarter of 2022, the situation forcing them to come to a deal with several manufacturers from New Prydai to produce Illionar components needed for the final assembly of their regional airliner, the Zvijezda Z-89A.

The anticipated upcoming project of the Zvijezda Javoš training aircraft was delayed until 2022, originally intended to perform its first test flight in 2020. However, due to financial troubles, the Zvijezda Javoš was also sold off to be produced in New Prydai and then bought for the Royal Illionar Air Force due to manufacturing limitations and lack of funds.

Under threat of closure, Zlata Zvijezda officially sold off their engine division, Junomeccanica, to a consortium of Illionar investment banks and holding companies in order to stay alive. This new ownership achieved the acquisition of a production licence for a well-known Norudo engine, the F414, which would be produced under licence for the assembly of the Zvijezda Ikarus, the multirole fighter jet currently in service with the Royal Illionar Air Force.

Riots in Kraško-Goriška see no signs of calming down

Kraško-Goriška has been a sore spot between Illionar and Carantania for over a century. The Triglav War is a heavily entrenched and traumatic event for both nations and their populations. However, in recent years, ethnic-Illionar citizens living in Carantania began opposing the government more and more due to ongoing restrictions on the Illionari language in schools as well as on road signs and public transport. The ethnic-Illionar citizens are unhappy to be forced to let go of their heritage and ethnicity to conform to the way of life in Carantania.

Numerous riots broke out in major cities in the Kraško-Goriška region, particularly the regional capital of Bolbomida, where the riot got so violent that the military was forced to intervene. Recent riots reported over 48,000 ethnic-Illionar citizens taking part in rallies and demonstrations in major cities of the region. After the intervention of the military, over 100 official deaths have been reported as well as local violence between ethnic Illionar and Carantanian citizens. An incident between ethnic-Illionar citizens and the Carantanian military was recorded at the Jolovič Railway Station in the town of Jolovič, which resulted in the deaths of two male ethnic-Illionar citizens; 27-year-old Šime Grdenić, a sales associate, and 24-year-old Ivo Krešić, a law student. After the incident, a mass protest errupted in Jolovič as well as the neighbouring town of Puškas, where the military had to be called up again to calm the streets down. As it currently stands, the riots see no signs of calming down for the foreseeable future.

NK Zmajovka win the PrvaLiga title after a 2-0 win against ŠD Unica

The PrvaLiga title had three teams in contention for the victory. NK Zmajovka reigned supreme and looked to defend their 2020-21 title, taking the lead in the standings after defeating ŠD Unica 2-0 last week at their home stadium. In second, close behind, were ND Strojna, who entered their final match against NK Skalnik at Branice Stadium. Leading up to the match, ND Strojna's defensive midfielder Velimir Batur was sidelined from competing in the final match after an injury put him out of playing for the next month. In his place, young Carantanian rookie, 17-year-old Matija Jaklič, took his place as the teams defensive midfielder, looking to make a good impression in the PrvaLiga.

NK Skalnik opened the score in the twenty-eighth minute as center-forward Rajko Berginc shot a lob pass from the right corner to striker Martin Andrić, who scored the first goal, putting NK Skalnik in the lead 1-0. Just ten minutes later, ND Strojna responded with a goal scored by midfielder Lin Cesar. At half time, both sides were tied 1-1. Heading into the second half, NK Skalnik's new rookie Jaklič was substituted off due to concerns of an earlier tackle by a Strojna's defender. He was substituted with 33-year-old midfielder Ivica Bekavac. Just eleven minutes in and Skalnik looked to score once again, but Firnean keeper Tim Ohlin managed to perform a fantastic save, saving Strojna from giving away a draw. But then another six minutes later and Bekavac is sent off the field for roughly tackling Strojna's defender Edvard Dubravac. Strojna is given a penalty, but their striker, Valentin Mlinarič, overshoots the goal, leaving the match 1-1. With only six minutes left, Skalnik had the ball and, despite playing with 10 players, managed to get the ball forward with Rajko Berginc scoring a cruicial goal for Skalnik, bringing the match 2-1. The final whistle blew and NK Skalnik won against ND Strojna, promoting them to eigth place in the standings, saving them from relegation while ND Strojna miss out on taking the title.

END OF AN ERA?
DEATH OF NATIONAL HERO, AND RUMOURS OF NEW POLITICAL COOPERATION ABROAD!

FAMILY ANNOUCES DEATH OF SIR JOHN AP MATHEWS

Written by Dai Jones, Political Correspondent

Today is a sad day for many of our readers at home as we sadly announce the death of the much beloved former Governor-General Sir John ap Matthews at his family home in Caerli at 3:00 AM at the age of 106, following a period of what his family call a "long-time illness. The Caerli International has been told that Sir John ap Matthews has been struggling with health issues since the spring of last year and refused life-extending treatment. He is survived by his two children, Seren ap Matthews (56) and Terrence ap Matthews-Jones (51). Born in 1917 at the tail-end of the Boreal War to Bronwen ap Matthews (Nèe Smith) and Llewellyn ap Matthews, he would enrol in St Dewi's School in the summer of 1926 at the age of 9 and would receive a primary education and then would attend public grammar school, graduating with high marks and nearly all of his ICSE'S, failing only his physics in 1933. He would attend Vancott University and would achieve a A-level in Political Science and a A-Level in History and would be regarded by his teachers as a "model student" and "likely to succeed".

After his graduation from university, he would go on to enlist in the Imperial Army of Syrasia, serving for two years as a Lieutenant before receiving a fast-tracked promotion to Captain after the outbreak of the Poppy-Field War. He would serve through the war with “great distinction and merit” and would also earn a promotion to Major in 1943 after showing himself to be “a great commander of men”. He would also be invited to join the Colonial Committee for Defence, a precursor to the Federal Committee of Military Planning (FCMP).

After the ending of hostilities, he would return home a war-hero but would soon develop a political streak as well-documented by his patronage of several Gaileich culture clubs and "Gwladgarwyr Newydd" Marches during the increasing divide between Syrasia and it's foreign dominions. This increasing political radicalisation would lead him to, alongside other notable independence activists such as Paul Morricombe and Sofi ap Maerlwyn, to write and publish the "Destiny of Nations", a radical and anti-imperialist text which declared that New Prydai, and other Syraisian colonial holdings, could only thrive and reach prosperity without foreign imperialism. After the publication of the text, he would be detained by colonial authorities for a period of thirty days before wide-spread public back-lash led to his release. Soon after, he would succesfully become a member of the Hall of Commons as an Independent in 1953

Growing embolden by this, he would soon announce his intention to run for the position of first-secretary of state under the goal of leading the country to Independence from Syrasia, and he would campaign viciously on the issue, backed by the newly founded Gwladgarwyr Unedig (Patriots United) Party, he would also marry fellow activist Eva Clark at this time after surviving two attempted stabbings in 1958. The Syrasian-backed Liberal Government's inability to deal with a wide-spread financial scandal would see mass-resignation and defection of high-ranking officials and would cause the opinion of the Liberal-Government to plummet for the rest of their term and would prove devastating to the Liberals and he would be voted in as the next first secretary of state in 1960 under a joint-party coalitition between Gwladgarwyr Unedig and the Social-Workers and Union Party .

The next five-years would prove to be difficult as there was great opposition from both countries regarding ambitious plans for independence and he would face great criticism for his hap-hazard handling of education and corruption however he was able to successfully to lay the foundations for both the Federated Armed Forces and the complex naval and trade agreements that make up the back-bone of the Prydan economy and the majority of the weight behind the Dollar-Sterling. On the 15th of March, 1965, The Syrasian and Prydan governments would officially agree that New Prydai was, and shall ever remain, an Independent and Sovereign state.

His funeral is to be held on Independence Day, 15th of March and will be a day of mourning for the nation with all non-essential services being closed.

FOREIGN EXPANSION ABROAD - PRYDAN ASCENSION TO PFA AND ONGOING TALKS IN GAELLAND

Written by Hugh ap Evans, foreign correspondent

Recent developments abroad have lead to new and intriguing developments as Foreign Office officials and several high-ranking diplomats began leaving the country yesterday, with flights planned to Ghàidhlig, following successful talks with Firnea in regards to New Prydai's request for observership in the fledgling Preservation of Future Alliance (PFA), in what appears to be a shaking up of New Prydai's current political ties. Since New Prydai's semi-ascension to the PFA, following succesfull talks in the Firnean capital last winter, the Federal Foreign Office appears to have grown embolden to reach out to one of Euralia's newest nations, and one that New Prydai in particular has a lot in common.

It is believed that Prydan diplomats will arrive in the capital city of Monadh Òg for talks on closer political ties given the immense amount of cultural and national ties that both nations have to each other, both being Syrasian dominions for the greater part of their history, and both being nations in which the vast majority of the Ghàidhlig and Gaileich people of Violettia reside in, with Ghàidhlig being the ethnic homeland of both people. What exactly will be discussed in these talks is still unknown but there are rumours that Sir Euan ap Griffis, one of New Prydai's top diplomats, as gone to ensure that the talks go smoothly.

Unfortunately, little else is known about where the government and the Foreign Office plan to go to next in what seems like the first steps in an ambitious foreign policy, one designed to thrust New Prydai into the global spot-light as a firm diplomatic and peaceful nation, however we will attempt to keep the public updated as the situation happens.

PEOPLE'S LEADER TURNS 53

People's Leader Colom Padraig celebrates his Sweet Fifty-Third with a vacation in Silkengale, Firnea

After months of intense negotiations and heated debates, the Gaelic Historical Acts were finally passed into law. The Acts, which aim to recognize and celebrate Gaelic culture and history, have been largely celebrated by the Gaelic community. However, the aftermath of this historic moment has been marred by controversy.

Colom Padraig, the People's Leader (P.L.) who championed the Acts, has decided to take a few days off on a vacation to the nation of Firnea with his husband. While some people see this as a well-deserved break for the leader who has worked tirelessly to push the Acts through, others have criticized him for his seeming negligence at a time when his leadership is needed.

Colom's supporters on both sides have come to his defense, stating that he has done more for his nation in one term than many leaders do in a lifetime, and that he deserves a break. However, his detractors have been quick to point out that the work of a leader never stops, and that he should be focused on addressing the many challenges that still face his nation.

The debate over Colom's vacation has been fierce, with opinions divided on whether he should have taken time off or stayed to deal with the aftermath of the Gaelic Historical Acts. Colom himself will be shocked to hear of the controversy when he finally returns to Monadh-Og, and it remains to be seen how this will affect his leadership moving forward.

IS FLYING SAFE?
SUPERSONIC AIRLINER CRASHES IN TVEMBOV, 300 DEAD!
Written by Fumi Miyamoto

Image
The international aviation community is left in absolute shock after PANOR flight 118 went missing over the Gulf of Tvembov late yesterday. Reportedly taking off at 3:00 PM Universal Time, Flight 118 was scheduled to arrive at Enkyo's Empress Momoko International Airport only an hour later. Instead, after 4 hours of delays, it was revealed by the Norudo Commonwealth Air Authority and Tvembov emergency services that Flight 118 went down over the Gulf of Tvembov for unknown reasons.

"Search and Rescue efforts are still underway, but from what we know, nobody survived the crash" says one Tvembovian emergency services worker, who asked to remain unnamed. "We can only hope, but there isn't really much of the aircraft left." The EMS worker continued on to say that the scene was strangely empty. "There wasn't anything sticking out of the water like you think there would be, it was more like a layer of like metal dust and plastic on top of the water. And it smelled sickly, like a mixture of a sick person and gasoline."

Fishermen and beachgoers that witnessed the plane crash said it was on fire and had no wings, with one describing it "as if someone had grabbed the wings and pulled them off."

"It was like a lawn dart, it just went straight into the water with fire coming out of the sides." Another described.

We had an exclusive interview with a tourist from Norudo who saw the crash, and is a private pilot;

Describe what the crash was like?
"So, I was just kind of sitting on a boat with some of my friends. We had come out to fish as part of our vacation in Tvembov and I hear this loud boom. It sounded hollow, and like it came from straight above. And one of my friends pointed up at the sky like 'what's that?'

Well, /it/ was this black trail of smoke that had to be about a few kilometers long, and it looked like it was curving down too. And after a minute of watching it, we saw the trail turn into a spiral that just came straight down. And while it was falling, you could hear this deathly whistling that grew into the sound of a jet engine. As someone who's flown private jets, I can tell you it sounded like that poor plane was struggling before it hit the water. I didn't get a great look at the plane itself because it was going so fast, but there was this huge column of black smoke coming out of the water from where it hit, so the thing must've been on fire. It was just scary and overall really unsettling to see."

It was confirmed via FlightTrackerTM that the aircraft was a N310-300 supersonic passenger liner built by the NEWYK company, which has drawn concerns from people online who have begun drawing parallels to the 2018 and 2019 N330 MAX crashes that resulted in a multi-million dollar investigation and lawsuit against NEWYK. However, many have gone to say that this is different, as the N310-300 has been flying since 2005 without incident.

There has yet to be any comment by Pan-Norudo World Airways or NEWYK, who also didn't respond to a request to comment. So far there are more questions than answers regarding the crash; How did it happen? Who's to blame? and most important, is it still safe to fly?

Jevlo Law Enforcement : "Cooperation is needed to curb the drug trade in the region."

In order to stop the drug trade that has been going on for years in Jevlo, one of the most eastern and mountainous provinces of Vragda, the Jevlo law enforcement officers suggest that international cooperation should be made and the neighboring nations should support the region to accelerate the fight against the drug trade. However, support for trade in nationalist and radical groups in the region was confirmed by the Ministry of Interior in Vragda.

COLOM PADRAIG SUFFERS CAREER-ENDING INJURY AT MONADH-OG BOMBING

48 WOUNDED, 4 DEAD.

Yesterday's National Address turned into a night of tragedy when a terrorist attack struck two cities in Monadh-Og and Maponoch. The attacker, whose identity is yet to be revealed, detonated himself in the middle of a crowd, killing only the brave individuals who were trying to apprehend him, but injuring several others. The authorities have confirmed that they managed to get the attacker away from the crowd in time, preventing a larger catastrophe from occurring.

Unfortunately, the attack has resulted in the resignation of Colom Padraig, the People's Leader, as he was severely injured in the attack, losing his right leg. An anonymous source has reported that he is now deemed "Unfit to Rule" and will be stepping down from his position. When approached for comment, Colom responded with a slow nod and a look of defeat, as he was wheeled out of the hospital.

This abrupt end to Colom Padraig's 20-year campaign for progress and improvement has left Maponoch in a state of shock and uncertainty. The power vacuum left by his resignation has yet to be filled, and the future of the city remains uncertain. The attack has left the citizens of Maponoch shaken and questioning the security measures in place to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

The authorities are currently investigating the incident and trying to determine the motive behind the attack. The identity of the attacker is still unknown, and it is unclear if there are any other individuals involved in the planning or execution of the attack. As the city of Monadh-Og mourns the loss of those who gave their lives trying to stop the attacker, the country as a whole is left to reflect on the tragedy and the need for increased security measures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

A NEW DISCOVERY MAY LEAD TO ANSWERS
AIRCRAFT PARTS DISCOVERED ON FARM IN TVEMBOV, COULD CONTAIN CLUES OF CRASH SAYS CAA.
Written by Fumi Miyamoto (Aviation Correspondent)

The N310 wing, believed to belong to Flight 118, in Angatim Tvembov. 令46.08.21
Several days following the crash of PANOR Flight 118, many new details have surfaced regarding the crash, most notably the discovery of an aircraft wing suspected to belong to the aircraft of the flight. This follows an extensive recovery effort being made by both Tvembovian and Commonwealth authorities in the hopes of finding bodies and belongings to return to loved ones and, most crucially, clues to why the aircraft crashed.

In the small town of Angatim, Tvembov, a large piece of wreckage was discovered by emergency responders after farmers reported a fire at the town's periphery. This part was later identified as the left wing of an N310 series supersonic airliner, the same kind involved in the PANOR Flight 118 crash. The National Air Transportation Safety Board, the air investigation branch of the Commonwealth Air Authority, released a statement announcing its involvement in the investigation into the flight.

"The National Air Transportation Safety Board has already dispatched a team of investigators to Tvembov to further investigate the crash in cooperation with Tvembov air regulators and the NATSB has confidence that it will find a swift and definite cause and solution for the current crisis with cooperation from NEWYK, Pan-Norudo World Airways, and other regulators."

The press release came only hours behind the announcement of the wing's discovery, which is believed to have originated from Flight 118, however the NATSB has stated that it won't know for sure until NEWYK and NATSB investigators have had time to identify the parts by serial number. Meanwhile, the search for the N310's two black boxes continues as the Tvembovian Coast Guard and volunteer workers from the Commonwealth scour the wreckage in the Gulf of Tvembov.

INSTABILITY OVERSEAS
MAPONOCH LEADERSHIP RESIGNS DUE TO BOMBING INJURIES AS RIOTS CONTINUE IN ILLIONAR
Written by Misao Yūki

Maponoch's leader, Colom Padraig, was heavily injured yesterday after a bombing of Maponoch's National Address. Being declared unfit to rule, Padraig resigned, as first reported by the Gaidhlig Times. The Maponoch police forces are currently investigating the incident, however stated that the identity and modus operandi of the bomber is unknown.

This comes months after weeks of riots in Kraško-Goriška, Carantania, where ethnic Illionar protested the attempt by the Carantanian government to erase Illionari culture from their country, resulting in the deaths of hundreds. A similar protest was put down in a deadly confrontation in Jolovič, where two ethnic Illionar were killed by Carantanian military forces. Shūgiin Representative, Aoi Urano, stated in an address to the Shūgiin that "this attempt by Carantania to not just erase a culture, but actively remove the identity of fellow Hiningen, is a blatant disregard of international law and the values of not just the Commonwealth and her neighbors, but the League of Nations itself." Urano went on to demand that the Norudo Commonwealth bring the issue to the floor of the League General Assembly. However, whether that will result in any action by the Commonwealth in the League or even a reaction from the League itself remains to be seen. As of August 22nd, the Commonwealth hasn't submitted a request to bring the issue to the floor.

A similar instance has been brewing in the far flung nation and former Commonwealth state of the Tabali Republic of Newnatistan, which has been systematically oppressing the native population of Newnati since 2009. There have been calls in the Shūgiin and even in the Atamagiin for intervention in the form of sanctions on the small nation. However, Her Imperial Majesty's cabinet has refused to comment on the situation, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that it "will not comment on policies that are the product of a minority of Gikai representatives."

NORUDO TO RE-ENTER FORMULA ONE
HOKURA ANNOUNCES PLANS TO ENTER INTO FORMULA ONE IN 2024
Written by Mieko Kobayashi

Image
Hokura HP-J Gr. 2 Car. 令30.03.13
During the Taiboku Festival last Friday, Hokura Motor Co. revealed its plans to re-enter Formula One through it's Hokura Haipafōmansu Division. Yuko Shibuya, COO of the company, stated at the festival that Hokura would "rejoin Formula One as part of its endeavor to drive innovation and further cement Hokura as Norudo's premier performance brand." Of course, Hokura is well known for its entries into the endurance GT and Super GT series, with the HP-J Gr. 2 being one of the most well known Hokura race cars and making the Hokura HP-J one of the most sought after cars.

While not pulling the same kind of fame as Miyamoto Motor Corporation, Hokura's entry into Formula One comes as no surprise due to both Miyamoto's operations in other series and Hokura already having a hand in Formula One already. Miyamoto has, for a long time, dominated the GT and endurance scene through cars like the RK-7GTE Gr. 3, RHP-1 Gr. 1, RHP-7 Gr. 3, and the SK-C series Gr. C cars. And while Hokura's motorsport HP-J cars have great performance, Miyamoto, along with Akai Performance and Takeda, have built a highly competitive GT and Prototype field that the aging HP-J series has started to struggle competing in.

This is added on top of stricter rules in Formula One that play into Hokura's favor when compared to Miyamoto. As Miyamoto has focused heavily on the rotary engine, it has repeatedly stated that it will not enter into Formula One, with Katsumi Miyamoto, Chief of Motorsport at Miyamoto, putting it best; "Miyamoto is not interested in spending money on a sport that does not contribute to its own grand design." Hokura, by contrast, has gone the way of powerful V-blocks and turbos, with the HP-J being the antithesis of the concept. So, its no surprise that Hokura has decided to enter into Formula One.

Additionally, Hokura has already been producing engines for Formula One teams since 2015, with the engine being considered one of the better engines on the grid. This gives Hokura an advantage over other prospective newcomers, as they already have an engine that has not only been proven in Formula One, but proven in the current engine regulations.

Hokura's High Performance team stated in a press release yesterday that it had "allocated the proper funds, personnel, and facilities in preparation for the 2024 season." It went on to state that legendary car designer Nanako Takako Yasuko Hirano would be the Chief Technical Officer for the team, with Formula 2 driver Kyo Hino serving as one of the drivers. Hokura did not list a second driver, implying that it is still undergoing talks to procure one.

ROCKET OF THE FUTURE?
CASA AWARDS NEXT GENERATION LAUNCH SYSTEM CONTRACT TO NEWYK
Written by Fumi Miyamoto

In the recent bids for government contracts, many overlook the Commonwealth Air and Space Administration's rocket programs in favor of discussing the various military and infrastructure contracts that are handed out throughout the months. However, the contract for the Next Generation Launch System (NGLS) has received the public's intrigue in light of the renewed interest in the Commonwealth's space program following Her Imperial Majesty's commitment to revisit the Moon by 2030, made back in 2018.

The centerpiece of the commitment is the Next Generation Launch System, which is planned to replace the current Space Launch System and Shuttle Launch System, referred to as SLS and HLS respectively. The Next Generation Launch System contract was awarded to NEWYK, and will come in a variety of sizes and range, with two distinct lines of the system; the standard payload launcher and the crewed launcher. NEWYK is confident that it can have the NGLS in service by 2025, which will be used for future missions in lieu of the SLS and HLS rockets.

The Government Announces Diplomatic opening to the world

President Chivari says " we need more allies in the world "

Today our president, Lorenzo Chivari, announced to the nation that Crornia will abbandon the isolationiat policy in favor of getting a more participant role into the international affairs. Chivari sayed that Crornia needs new Allies and Commercial partners, and only with the Diplomatic Opening the country will grow more economically. After the announcement, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marco Rassigna, has invited all Nations of Terra Violetia, especially North and South Euralian Countries, to open an embassy and start diplomatic negotiations with Crornia, which is willingly to open Special Investment Zones for Foreign Industries. Crornia, from the fall of the dictatorship in 1965 to our days embraced a neutral and isolationist diplomatic policy, so this opening will be the push that will make Crornia a greater nation. We hope that the other nations will negotiate with Crornia.

Illionar Today

King Goran II passes away at the age of 51

New reached the early morning papers troughout Illionar with a large front page article. The article stated that current king, Goran II, passed away in his chambers during the night at the age of 51 after a few years suffering from poor cardiac health. Despite the actual cause of death not revealed yet, many have suspected that the king suffered a heart attack or a stroke during the night.

King Goran took the throne at the age of 30, succeeding his father Tomaž III, in 2001 as the country was recovering from a late 1990s economic recession. His reign was marked by numerous forward thinking social reforms such as equal rights for anthros and humans as well as breaking down social barriers between different species such as Vulpines, Canines and Draconians, which were one of the dominant species in Illionar.

His son, Jaša, the eldest son, was named as his successor in his will, despite the two of them having a rather estranged relationship. His father spent most of his time in his office performing duties rather than teaching his son the way of ruling, leading to Jaša mostly being secluded in the royal estate, focusing on more leisure matters such as music, art and literature. It wasn't until the age of 17 when Goran decided to teach Jaša himself.

The state funeral is set to take place at the end of September and the coronation for his son and heir-apparent Jaša would be organized towards the end of the same month, leading him to be the new monarch of Illionar at the age of 26.

Military Pact between Chantia and Crornia

Earlier today, President Ilija Stefanović and Crornian President Lorenzo Chivari met in the capital of Chantia Crngred to talk about establishing a new military pact between Chantia and Crornia. The proposed pact aims to strengthen the defense capabilities of both countries and enhance their cooperation in matters of national security. The two leaders expressed optimism about the potential benefits of this partnership for their respective nations.

They both agreed to continue the dialogue and explore more opportunities for collaboration in the future. The meeting ended on a positive note, with both leaders shaking hands and exchanging gifts.

The new Chantia-Crornia pact has however caused backlash for Ilija Stefanović due to many political figures claiming that the pact is useless to Chantia, but Stefanović has assured that Crornia would come off as a valuable ally for Chantia.

Social democrats expect landslide victory in upcoming elections

Chancellor Gyldenløve pleased with poll results

by: Ragnhild Jørgensen

Chancellor Havard Gyldenløve has addressed the latest election polls expecting a landslide victory for his party, the Social Democrat Party of Firnea (SDF), with latest results seeing the party at about 45 percent of all eligible voters in support.

"When the SDF agreed to a coalition with the Green Party four years ago, we stood at less than 32 percent, and we considered this to be a fantastic result", the Chancellor remembers. "Our fantastic work has clearly paid off, and I believe it's safe to say the democratic green coalition will live another term."

The Green Party of Firnea, currently serving as the sole coalition partner of the SDF, stands at 22 percent (2019: 20.5 percent). Other notable parties include the Free Market Party of Firnea (FMF), standing at 8 percent (2019: 13 percent) and the Firnean Socialist Union (FSU) at 6 percent (2019: 5 percent), while the self-proclaimed conservative force of Firnea, the Firnean Homeland Party (FHP) has dropped to less than 3 percent (2019: 18 percent). With the 5 percent barrier in play, only four parties are currently expected to make it into parliament, being the SDF, the Green Party, the FMF, and the FSU.

15-year-old Phoenix Bellamy labelled "once-in-a-century football talent"

Will Eldur United make a move during winter?

by: John Elroy-Wilkinson

The newly organized Firnean Premier League, as well as the national football leagues two and three, being the Challengers League, and the Ascenders League, are expected to restart game operations by spring of 2024, and rumors are running wild already.

During a friendly match between Firnean Premier League clubs Mosfort Metro and Raventide City, the latter club sent 15-year-old football prodigy on the pitch in the 65th minute, acting as a substitute for club legend Miles Ellery. Against all odds, Bellamy scored two goals in the 69th and in the 89th minute, turning the game around to score a 3-2 for her club, Raventide City.

The club had filed for a special permission, as, under normal circumstances, pro football players must be at least 16 years of age. It was clear to everyone in attendance that hardly anyone considered young Bellamy to be a major threat; however, she would quickly belie her doubters, and, following the match, is expected to be scouted by Firnea's top clubs already.

"She is an exceptional player, a once-in-a-century football talent", says City coach Ulrikke Svendsen (41). "Phoenix is incredibly intelligent and astute, and always pays close attention, both in theory and practice. She will be one of the all-time greats one day - indeed, I would be surprised if she'd end her career without having won a world title with the Firnean national team at least once. Raventide will do whatever it takes to offer a fantastic contract to her."

"It's everything I ever wanted to do, really", states Phoenix, already dubbed "Firestar" on social media in reference to her scarlet red hair, during our exclusive interview, smiling almost shily. "But, you never know what'll happen next. I'll finish school just as planned, but I do hope that I'll get to play a few games for City."

Currently, Gardheim Olympic, Mosfort Metro, Svorequai FC, and, naturally, "big city club" Eldur United have been reported to show interest in signing the proclaimed wonder child. Bellamy, however, has already vowed allegiance to Raventide. "Right now, I'm not going anywhere."

Queen Saga I sending her best wishes to the international community

Firnean people "appalled" over attempted assassination

by: Arne Henriksen

As part of a special broadcast, Queen Saga I has expressed her grief over the death of King Goran II, and vowed to support Tir nan Gaidheal by any means necessary over the attempted assassination of People's Leader Colom Padraig.

"King Goran II was a humble, a progressive, a great man, and he will be deeply missed", Queen Saga said. "The Kingdom of Firnea wishes for his descendants to be powerful and proud even in times of loss. I would also like to express my full support for his son Jaša, who will be King of Illionar soon - he shall rest assured that, should he require support, he will always find an open channel to reach me in times of need."

"What happened in Tir nan Gaidheal, where our close friends live and prosper, is difficult to even put into words. I wish for Colom Padraig to recover as quickly as possible, and, most importantly, in complete fashion. Should the People's Leader be in need, our fantastic doctors will be ready to provide the best treatment possible."

"Finally, my thoughts are with the families and friends of all the people that have tragically lost their lives during the plane crash that took place in Tvembov. We stand by your side - truly, this is not a mere empty catchword. The Firnean people have already started a massive fundraiser, the amounts of which will be donated to the families of the people involved in the crash."
