NSSCRA 14- Everything Thread

Postby Newmanistan » Sat Feb 18, 2023 7:51 am

Welcome to the 14th season of NSSCRA!

Scorination Details: (If you participated in previous seasons, nothing is changing). The main series will be scorinated in the manner in which you are accustomed too, or in the same way that seasons 6-13 have been. The second series has all drivers, regardless of their nation, start with a skill level of zero. This puts all nations on a level playing period to begin with for that series. The second tier series only has one scorination of data, there are not five segments that are averaged.

Every "race weekend" will have two days in which information is scorinated. Day 1 will be the qualifying for the main series and the official race results (with qualifying) for the second tier series. Day 2 will be the day in which main series results are scorinated. Day 2 will be the only day where there is an official RP cutoff. Day 1 will not have an official cutoff for RP as the results will be posted at a time similar to what cutoff time typically is, but will be done without a cutoff associated with it.

Ex: In the main series, a race's information reads like this:
Exhibition- (Feb 25/26)- Exhibition at The Proving Grounds Presented by Rocket Automotive <--- This will be the actual dates of the first cutoff, too.

This means that the cutoff date for this race is February 26 (Sunday).
On February 25 (Saturday), qualifying for this race will be posted without a cutoff. It will also be the day that the corresponding second tier series race has it's results posted (as long as with the qualifying).

Open Charter Details: For every race, there are two "open charters". What this is, is a chance for a nation to give a fourth/additional driver an occasional part-time race. Alternatively, a nation can request an open charter for a "need to qualify" driver to get an automatic spot. To make a request for an open charter, a nation must either: 1) Provide the request in a RP IMMEDIATELY PRIOR to the scheduled race with the request BOLDED within the RP. or 2) Request it in a telegram when the desired race is NEXT on the schedule. You can make your intention known a few weeks prior, but there's always the risk of it slipping my mind. Officially asking right before the race keeps my "getting older" mind from forgetting it.

If I must decide from more than two requests: the first preference for an open charter will always be to the nation that is hosting the upcoming race. Afterwards, the amount of requests a nation has already made is taken into consideration, as well as the amount of RP already provided by the requesting nations.

The next post will contain the full schedule.

The regulars know, but be anticipating this to be prompt, on the dot, as I am often on the computer, ready to roll and waiting for the clock to turn, and for the last minute RPs!

Based in and representing the Glorious Free Republic of St. Kanye, the guys and gals of Gale Force Racing will be back for their ninth season of participation in the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series. GFR is one of the biggest names in the series and will be hoping to add to their impressive haul of 38 wins and a championship.

The team receives factory support from Chadwick Motors Incorporated, St. Kanye's leading automaker, and as such go out on the track in their best-selling model, the Infinite sedan. The "Chad", as it's more commonly known, is also the car of choice for New Northwesteros' Direwolf Auto Team, 69X's Team Tsunopin, and the debuting Team Salamantic out of Quebec and Shingoryeo.

#18 Jeremiah Brooke

Age: 33
Twii.tur: @Jeremiah_B
NSSCRA 6, 9, 10, 13 Championship Four
NSSCRA 7, 12, 13 Regular Season Champion
NSSCRA 9 Champion
1-Time Vilaye Energy Drink 314 Winner
1-Time TJUN 600 Winner
1-Time Pencurve Electronics 500 Winner

Crew Chief: Ben Warwick
Spotter: Raymond Goldfarb

He may seem very well like a bad boy with his long hair, beard, and taste for metal music, but Jeremiah is in reality one of the series' good guys, with a chill, laid back personality that makes him popular with fans and fellow drivers alike. He is also one of the most accomplished drivers in the field, with 17 career wins and the ninth season championship; he is also the first in the Chase era to win back to back races in two consecutive weeks, and is part of a select group who have both won from the pole and in his home country (though not both at the same time). Drama and controversy may be the backbone of today's NSSCRA, but Jeremiah prefers to stay away from those and just focus on the racing.

Primary Scheme (15 Races: All not mentioned below except Jalton and Kardashia)
Image

Secondary Scheme (5 Races: Ramba, TJUN 600, Val Z, Trop 500, G6M)
Image

Tertiary Scheme (5 Races: Exhibition, Xanneria, Vilaye 314, Wreckeria, Oxyrhynchus)

#27 Stacie Houston
Original image generated by Abanhfleft, sponsor logos added by me.

Age: 36
Twii.tur: @StacieHouston27
NSSCRA 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 Championship Four
NSSCRA 7 Champion
1-Time TJUN 600 Winner

Crew Chief: Marinette Harbaugh
Spotter: Roger Fenty

Stacie, originally from the now defunct (or is it just dormant?) Team Cassadaigua is one half of the Cup Series' "Stacemiah" power couple, the other being her husband Jeremiah (see above). Despite taking the eleventh season off due to her pregnancy with her and Jeremiah's son Jericho, and switching manufacturers from Team Cass' Blazes to GFR's Chads, the short track master's skills have not deteriorated, as she kept recording dubs and booking herself tickets to the playoffs. When not on the track, one of Stacie's favorite pastimes is to watch and support the Dagan delegation in other sports tournaments.

Primary Scheme (Speedways and Superspeedways)

Secondary Scheme (Short Tracks and Road Courses)

#46 Thea Alvarez
Original image generated by Abanhfleft, sponsor logos added by me.

Age: 26
Twii.tur: @Luna_Althea
NSSCRA 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 Championship Four
2-Time Kardashia Chadwick Dealers 400 Winner (big deal for her given it's her home track)

Crew Chief: Kaley Curtis
Spotter: Naomi Hoff

Thea is another example of looks being deceiving - underneath the sweet, childish and innocent image she shows off the track lies a huge threat while on it, one you would not want to be engaging in battle with when victory is on the line (her 14 career victories are solid proof of that). Opinions on this ever-rising star are divided among race fans, with some (especially girls) being in full support of her, while others have been criticizing her for dating one of the sport's most controversial figures, Team Tsunopin's lead driver and namesake Ilya Tsunopin. Only time will tell if Thea succeeds in taming the bearded beast that is his boyfriend, or if it is she who will end up crossing over to the wild side.

Primary Scheme (15 Races: All not mentioned below except Jalton and Kardashia)

Secondary Scheme (5 Races: Xanneria, TJUN 600, Sajnur, Wreckeria, G6M)

Tertiary Scheme (5 Races: Exhibition, Lonngeylin, Cocoabo Forest, Vilaye 314, Trop 500)

R&D Entry: #22 Pyotr Lavrentiev

Age: 27
Twii.tur: @CeroatLav
NSSCRA 11, 13 Championship Four (Everlong)
NSSCRA 13 Champion (Everlong)

Crew Chief: James Fellows
Spotter: Ethan Petrov

Aside from defending his Everlong Series title, "Lav" will also run select races in the Multiversal Series due to him being tapped by GFR as their R&D entry. The Ceroat-born driver honed his skills in GFR's driver development program after conflicts back in the old country caused his original team to fold; his former teammate and current closest friend, Rustam Ilyich Yudin, was picked up by the Prid-Fleftic UrGa stable and received the same training.

GOOD TEAM BLUE

Based in: Hapilopper City

Primary: Good Motor Oil (Drake Stevenson), Mayhem (Rinzi Zakhilwal), Mel's Ultra-Mart (Chris Holmes)

Secondary: Hapilopper Airlines, Fresh Cola, Warner Hall Pizza, DEZ Cleaning Products, MIX Filters, Coweta Agricultural Products (Stevenson), Wolf Totem Carpets (Zakhilwal)

Contingency Sponsors: Redways Hapiloppian Van Lines, Hi-Tech Brake Pads, GOON Chassis Parts, SuperTV Satellite Television, Hobbs Beer, C:\>RetroHut, Pinkerton Engine Bearings, Ida's Parts By Mail, HTS Industrial Manufacturing, Urban Fryers Fried Foodstuffs, EverLong Convenience Stations, Hydroceramic Parts, Slant Radiator Pressure Caps, Perfect 10 Motels, Huntsman Parts, LOOK! Gauges, Phoenix Insurance Brokers, UltraValue Master Mechanic Stores, Romlin Spark Plugs, BA Racing, Hot Cams

TEAM PERSONNEL YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW ABOUT.

Team Owner: Amanda McAlister (twii.tur: @Amanda_TeamBlue)
Image

The daughter of Ken Henson, who ran Team Blue from the 1970s until 2019, Amanda McAlister is the calm, mild-mannered leader of Team Blue, running the team through the turbulent times, the high moments and the times where she just wants to strangle Drake Stevenson for doing something stupid. Originally someone with little-to-no interest in racing, McAlister rarely traveled to races until two years ago. Currently, Amanda has guided Team Blue through quite the storm and into one of the top teams in international stock car racing. The team has evolved into a solid unit, working together, winning together and losing together. McAlister, like the rest of Team Blue, is highly optimistic for the coming season.

Driver Coach: Frank Bronson (twii.tur: @Frank_Bronson)
Image

You know this guy. Frank Bronson, retired from the world of racing, is still with Team Blue, serving as the team's driver consultant. Bronson, who won a couple of NSSCRA races with Team Blue, has remained a vital part of the team, working to help the team through all its ups and downs, and is said to be one of the smartest auto racing minds in all of Hapilopper and, if he's able to, will be able to help the team compete for victory. Bronson is still quite close to each of Team Blue's three drivers, and the three drivers highly respect him. It is said that Bronson will also serve as a substitute driver for any of the three, should something happen that would necessitate their absence from the wheel.

THE DRIVERS.

HASCAR Starts: 309 | Wins: 54 | HASCAR Challenge Cups: 4 (2011, 2013, 2014, 2018)
NSSCRA Starts: 121 | Wins: 6 | NSSCRA Championships: 0 | Exhibition 500 Wins: 1 (Season 10)
Crew Chief: John Malloy (twii.tur: @j_malloy) | Spotter: Banjo Williams (twii.tur: @BanjoHap)
Driving Style: Profane | Demeanor: Team Leader | Retaliation?: Unlikely

First, the good news. Drake Stevenson has moved out of his old house in the Poplar Prairie neighborhood, a house that he felt had brought him more bad mojo than good, a house that he felt had brought him down emotionally. You know, bad vibes and what have you. He has moved to a very plush penthouse in the top floor of one of the tallest skyscrapers in Hapilopper City, closer to the Team Blue shop and closer to some of his favorite haunts in Hapilopper City. With that new residence has brought him a new attitude, an attitude that should help him on the race track. And as Hapilopper's foremost racing driver, many suggest that he is the kind of driver that should be a NSSCRA champion by now.

But here's the bad news. He isn't a NSSCRA champion. And at the wrong side of his 30s, many suggest that his post-HASCAR career has been marked by unforced errors, slipups and times where he just plain underachieved. Had he stayed with Team Blue instead of trying to make a career in the World Grand Prix Championship work, critics feel he would have been a NSSCRA champion by now. Had he not let personal issues bother him in years past, critics feel he would have won more races. Had he not gotten himself involved with Taylor Henderson, critics feel he would have been more of a top-flight NSSCRA driver.

These days, Stevenson is unfortunately known for having one of the filthiest mouths in racing when he's on track. Stevenson's profanity-laced radio tirades can be heard on NSSCRA Radioactive, a very popular show seen on the H-Sports cable TV network. There have been times where Team Blue, as well as sponsors Good Motor Oil and Preston Autos, have asked Drake to tone the language down, but he has said he doesn't want to change it, because after all, it's his radio.

#73 - RINZI ZAKHILWAL | Hometown: Dali, Yunnan Territory, The Sherpa Empire | Age: 34 | Twii.tur: (none)
HASCAR Starts: 0 | Wins: 0 | HASCAR Challenge Cups: 0
NSSCRA Starts: 170 | Wins: 8 | NSSCRA Championships: 0
Crew Chief: Gombu Sejwal (no twii.tur) | Spotter: Dolma Rohatgi (no twii.tur)
Driving Style: Professional | Demeanor: Goofy | Retaliation?: All I'm saying is if Rinzi's gunning for you, you've screwed up big time

Last season, Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal captured the hearts and imaginations of fans across Hapilopper when he secured a spot in the Championship Four, even as Team Blue was dealing with their typical difficulties. But that's what Rinzi does - he doesn't let negativity affect him. Instead, he brightens the mood of everyone around him - unless you're Kai Qiang and he's ruffling your hair. But the point is, that Rinzi is a very positive influence on Team Blue, that just his presence serves as a major morale boost for the team, and the team is more than happy to have him. And it seems like the feeling is mutual - there are rumors that Rinzi and his family is settling down in Hapilopper City - interestingly enough, in Drake Stevenson's old house in the Poplar Prairie neighborhood.

In order to help him hit the ground running, Team Blue took some steps to make his arrival as comfortable as possible. For starters, the team has put together a prayer room in the Team Blue Shop and in the Team Blue Center in an effort to help Rinzi, a devout Muslim, become comfortable with his surroundings. The team has worked to hire members of Rinzi's old crew, including his crew chief and spotter. Team principal Amanda McAlister is a firm believer in crew chief chemistry, and doesn't think a driver could just be paired up with anyone. Especially when a language barrier is involved. That same personnel remains with Rinzi for the coming season, as the team feels there is no sense in breaking up something that works. The Carpet Khan is a genuine threat for the title.

#8 - CHRIS HOLMES | Hometown: Buckridge | Age: 30 | Twii.tur: @CHolmes
HASCAR Starts: 30 | Wins: 1 | HASCAR Challenge Cups: 0
NSSCRA Starts: 134 | Wins: 4 | NSSCRA Championships: 0
Crew Chief: Lawrence Malloy (twii.tur: @larry_m8) | Spotter: Sharp-Eyes Glover (no twii.tur)
Driving Style: Patient | Demeanor: Relaxed | Retaliation?: No

By now, the old Chris Holmes is a distant memory. Gone is the hard partier that focused more on making an ass of himself at the local watering hole than actually doing well on the track. In his place is a family man, a proud father of a little boy that is growing up pretty quickly, a devoted husband to the love of his life, and someone who takes his job - as one of NSSCRA's premier racing drivers - very, very seriously. And with that, Chris Holmes has gone from "what could have been" to "what will be", and that was seen with his two-win campaign last season. Pitsiders suggest there are more to come from this, one of Hapilopper's top racing drivers.

And it shows how much Chris is enjoying himself. He will happily tell anyone that listens that the last two years have been the best years of his life, and that he is having more fun now than he has ever had as a racing driver. And his sponsors love him too. Mel's Ultra-Mart, where Chris worked after being fired by Hawking-Byrd Motorsports a few years ago, has gladly taken him on as the face of their company. Commercials air on TV showing Chris, his wife and their child shopping at Mel's have become staples on television. Chris has reportedly signed a long-term sponsorship deal with Mel's that will follow him past his time at Team Blue. Like the other two drivers at Team Blue, Holmes is thought of as a genuine championship threat with the team.

Mel's Home Video paint scheme, to be run in the Hapilopper City races, as well as Newmanistan and Vilita

Sharpe's Coffee paint scheme, to be run in Halsted, 69X, The Sherpa Empire and TJUN-ia

Klianiota set for competition in 1st Tundra Falls 500 attempt

Image
Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Tundra Falls, Newmanistan :: Vilita and Turorian driver Juracai Klianiota, AOCAR Season 3 Champion and former NSSCRA, World Grand Prix Championship and Super Formula Championship driver looks to add another accomplishment to their racing resume by attempting to qualify for their first ever appearance in the NSSCRA Season opening Tundra Falls 500.

Klianiota has one previous start at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, driving the #73 car for Team Blue during NSSCRA Season 8 in the Proving Grounds 500 Season Finale where Klianiota finished 7th. Klianiota also had one Top 10 Finish during NSSCRA Season 13 placing 10th in the Race Eelandii! Dart at the Holly's Delights 500 at the Garden at 6th Mile Road.

While Klianiota is a very accomplished driver on the track and as a driving instructor at Race Eelandii!, the Turorian based driver is still seeking their first ever Top Tier Motorsports checkered flag. Two prior full time NSSCRA campaigns yielded a best result of 4th place for Klianiota on two different occasions, first during NSSCRA 4 at the Drake's Dash then again during NSSCRA Season 5 at the Bakaro International Speedway in Sucrati. After troubles in the NSSCRA sanctioning body, the team along with Klianiota and iBen Toralminii moved to the lower tier Super Formula Championship series and experienced immediate success. While Toralmintii picked up back-to-back championships which they propelled into a long time World Grand Prix Championship career, Klianiota was an expert at collecting pole positions then failing to finish inside the points. Eventually Klianiota would make it through the World Grand Prix 2 circuit with some success and a single campaign at the top level of the World Grand Prix Championship that would yield no race victories.

From there, Klianiota returned to their Stock Car Roots with the establishment of the AOCAR Stock Car Series, a series of races held entirely within the Atlantian Oceania region to minimize travel and logistics costs to all teams. Having established the Race Eelandii! Driving School and Experience at the Eelandii Grand Prix Course in Turori, the lower cost barrier to enter the series was appealing to Klianiota who set up a two-car team under the Race Eelandii! banner for themselves and Umbalu Trisala. It would take just three races for Klianiota to find victory lane - winning from the pole at the Serizawa Racing Circuit in Aji No Moto. Klianiota would finish 3rd in the Inaugural AOCAR Series Standings and has since won 4 additional AOCAR races and the AOCAR Season 3 Championship.

In entering the Tundra Falls 500, Klianiota hopes to make history in having the Champions of each of the 3 Top Tiers of Stock Car Racing in the multiverse competing in the seasons biggest race in the Top Tier Multiversal Cup Series. Klianiota will be bringing a Race Eelandii! prepared Hybrid Dart to Tundra Falls utilizing a newly acquired chassis from Vilita and Turori Motorsports. Klianiota has secured sponsorship from twii.tur, a primary sponsor of the AOCAR Stock Car Series and the twii.tur Shootout. In recognition of the occasion and the potential spotlight on the AOCAR circuit, twii.tur has conceded the hood location of the car to be adorned instead with the AOCAR logo with the main body of the scheme featuring AOCAR Blue, White and Orange instead of twii.tur Brown. twii.tur logos still feature prominently on the car, particularly in the rear as the sponsor hopes "That is the view most in-car cameras will have as Klianiota leads the pack!"

AOCAR Satellite Offices, AOisle, Atlantian Oceania :: "AOCAR" is the first collective organization with the designated intention and authority to sanction and operate competitive region-wide motorsports series across Atlantian Oceania. Since its founding, AOCAR has helped unify the once sporadic regional motorsports events within Atlantian Oceania including the Atlantian Oceania Open Wheel Championships (AOOWC), Atlantian Oceania Motorsports Championships (AOMC) and Racing Atlantian Oceania Deportes (RAOD). The AOCAR has sanctioned three seasons of its signature Stock Car Series as well as the Atlantian Oceania Grand Prix (AOGP) Series and the Atlantian Oceania Motorsports Championships (AOMC) as part of the AOlympinc Games

The AOCAR Stock Car Series Season 4 will once again run in parallel with the Multiverse-wide Nationstates Stock Car Racing Association's Top Tier and Everlong Contenders Series events. While no Full-Time NSSCRA Drivers will be permitted to participate in the AOCAR Stock Car Series, full time National Series drivers from series such as HASCAR are eligible to compete if they can work around the schedule conflicts with each home track also being allocated a minimum of two spots in the starting lineup for some of their local talent. AOCAR Stock Car events take place at a variety of tracks throughout the Atlantian Oceania Region and in some cases will act as support events to major NSSCRA events. The first combination event of the season will come at the Lonngeylin Ring in Vilita which will serve as the 2nd event on the AOCAR calendar after the season opening Racing Collectors 303 in Lopinka, while the Toys '4' All 500 will be the third race on the NSSCRA calendar. AOCAR's signature 400 mile event at the Jalton Superspeedway in Saint Kanye will once again take place alongside the NSSCRA's Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Qualifying for the NSSCRA Regular-Season ending Pencurve Electronics 500.

Driver, Team and Circuit registration for AOCAR Season 4 is ongoing. While all competing teams must be registered to an Atlantian Oceania based address, teams are allowed limited recruitment of drivers from outside Atlantian Oceania if no regionally based talent is available or appropriate to fill their seats. Any media entities reporting on the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series or Everlong Contenders series will be granted full reciprocity for any AOCAR coverage they provide during the course of the upcoming season.

Drake Stevenson’s apartment, downtown Hapilopper City
A week before the start of the NSSCRA season

Image

Drake Stevenson’s mood was slowly but surely getting worse as he rode around in the middle of the pack. He was in the midst of an eRacing special event, the Buckridge 500, which had been timed around the time of the start of the NSSCRA season. And not everything was going well for him. For starters, it seemed like nobody knew how to hold their car in a straight line, which didn’t help any drafting efforts any. And that was pissing him off, especially as the leaders were starting to pull away. The car ahead of Drake would weave from one lane to the next as the driver was either on a controller, had bad connection issues, didn’t know what he was doing, or probably had tipped the bottle a tad bit too much.

Either way, they were losing ground to the leaders, and that, to Drake, was unacceptable. Sure, there was a lot of race left to go, but there was no reason the leaders should be pulling away from them. None at all. And if someone was brave enough to tell Drake to calm down, they’d get shouted down.

Image
Image
Image
Image

Eventually, that anger got so bad that the competition director of eRacing, Dim Rhodes, had to tell Drake, very nicely, to lay off the profanities. But telling Drake Stevenson to lay off the profanity is like telling a race car driver to quit racing – it just isn’t going to happen.

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

For this, Drake’s mic was turned off, and there was rejoicing among the numerous drivers in the field. But Drake was even more irate, and after getting pushed into the wall for the third time just after the 300-mile mark, he parked the car, rage-quit the simulator and stormed out of his simulator room towards the living room. It was there that he could get a beautiful view of downtown Hapilopper City, which by now was bathed with the lights from the high-rises. Drake, living on the 81st floor of Landry Tower in downtown Hapilopper City, could at least take that as a consolation.

There was a lot going for him. After the NSSCRA season ended last year, Drake took a lot of time to contemplate why so much had gone so wrong for him and wondered what he needed to do to change his fortunes, to change his mood. But then it hit him – the house at Poplar Prairie was a reminder of too many things that had gone wrong – the Big-Ass party that saw half his backyard get detonated by an idiot that shouldn’t have been allowed anywhere near explosives. His relationship with Taylor Henderson. Failed relationships and failed romances – to that school teacher and to that French woman Leujouje, the latter of which got Drake’s ass kicked.

But at least he took that beating like a man. He knew Andre Massena was going to whoop his ass. But he had to take it.

This house, for whatever reason, was a reminder of those failures. And he wanted to get away. So the day after signing a long-term, very lucrative contract with Team Blue that would tie Drake to the team until at least NSSCRA 24, a deal that made him the highest-paid race car driver in Hapilopper, Drake celebrated by renting a very plush top-floor penthouse at the new 81-story Landry Tower, not far from the Team Blue shop and not far from some of his haunts he loved to go to. And it also helped that Drake very quickly found a buyer for his house in one R.A. Zakhilwal.

Turns out the Zakhilwal family was looking to lay down roots in Hapilopper City and was looking for a place to call their own. Drake was more than happy to sell to the Zakhilwals and get the house off his hands. Since he considered Mr. Zakhilwal a friend, he offered a very good price for the house – a lower price than he would have offered anyone else.

The apartment was incredible. Sure, it cost an arm and a leg a month – around $15,000 per month – but he could afford it. It featured three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a wine fridge, a room converted into a smoking room for his cigars, a fully-stocked bar and a room for his simulator equipment. Downstairs, the tower had its own lounge and bar, swimming pool and fitness center where he could work out if he ever decided he wanted to.

And as Drake looked out the window, he realized there was a lot of good things ahead for him. The NSSCRA season was about to start, and it seemed like Team Blue had made tremendous strides during the offseason. There was no stress over personnel – they had retained everyone from the year before. Chris Holmes and Mel’s Ultra-Mart was absolutely coming back to the 8 car, and the team had found its new spiritual leader in Rinzi Zakhilwal – the Sherpa driver that came oh, so close to winning the Multiversal Cup last season.

In a week’s time, the three would get together to compete in the greatest racing series of them all, along with the greatest racing drivers in all the multiverse. And Drake was more than looking forward to it. But for one of his teammates, going racing was the furthest thing from his mind.

Chris Holmes’ house, Stevens’ Cove, Hapilopper City
The next morning

It was day three of Christopher Holmes’ attempt to herd a chicken and get it out of his back yard. The chicken belonged to his neighbor Gareth Patrick, but Gareth felt as if since his chickens were “free range,” he didn’t need to worry about them as long as they didn’t run out into the road and get run over by motorists that drove way too fast on the streets. But Chris didn’t want the chicken in his yard. That was his son’s yard, not the chicken’s.

Not long after the sun rose, Chris stepped out into the back yard with a Whoop Ass Stick, figuring he could chase the chicken out of his yard and into Gareth’s. Following not far behind was his wife Angela, holding their son Zachary. Angela partly didn’t want Chris to go through with this, but Chris wanted the chicken out of the yard come hell or high water.

The battle took five minutes. Chris ran over to a tree in the middle of his yard and was just about to swing his Whoop Ass Stick, when the chicken shot itself out of the tree, clucking like a maniac right at him. In response, brave Chris Holmes screamed, dropped the Whoop Ass Stick and ran back towards the house. The response from his wife and son was to laugh uproariously at this sad spectacle. The chicken was harmless. But try telling Chris this.

And so, that next Monday, when Team Blue’s drivers and crew members were in their weekly pre-race meeting, that’s all they talked about. Some streamer had recorded Drake’s audio rant and his subsequent six-month chat ban from eRacing, and Chris ranted and raved about this stupid fucking chicken that had made itself home in his backyard and was laying eggs all over the place. But there were greater things ahead for them and the rest of the team. NSSCRA 14 was about to get started, and there was a lot of things to be excited about. There were race wins ahead for them. There was a title hunt ahead. The best, they felt, was yet to come.

Hei! Olemme Huuhkajat Moottoriurheilu, Kimi-Suomen kilpajoukkue! Last season was our 2nd in the land they call NSSCRA and while our backers at Kimi-Suomen Auto- ja Kilpaliitto (KSAjK for short) were expecting some sort of overall improvement the 2nd time around, I don't think even they would've expected what HM actually managed to pull off, with 3 of the 4 cars making the Chase and recording the team's first-ever T1 triumph in Hapilopper City. All 4 of HM's drivers managed to find something in this 2nd season, either on or off the track...but what about year 3?

T1 looks like it could be a massive mess, with over 60 drivers now looking to qualify, while T2 is always unpredictable no matter how many fight down there. With Kimi Kaupunki's time in the spotlight moved to the regular season midway point of Round 8, placed in between the debuting Gerthos Speedway and the crazy combo of the TMW Ramba Test Track and Mviringo wa Dunia, the opportunity for HM to keep the momentum going and make moves in the Chase once more are plentiful, especially with NSGP rekindling racing fever in the Rouge Kingdom. Everyone now expects this humble team to try and do something this season...though the major fireworks may relate to what happens next season.

POMO (The Boss) - Daniel Marx
Daniel Marx, or DM for short, is a figure many in his homeland by birth in JYK-inen (TJUN-ia to everyone else) will know all too well. One of the key figures in the formation of the MRO over there, Marx (aged 32) was chosen by the governing body to be the first team manager at Jaguar Racing and many would say he was doing a good job, getting everyone used to taking part in the sport and getting the team up for the future. But then came the now-infamous "DumplingGate" - where Chet Byrd, now long gone from the sport, made a comment at Jungle Fever I referring to Liangmei Li as a dumpling. That caused a lot of controversies, but what also did was Marx's attempt to apologise to Taylor Henderson, the most vocal of critics, by sending her the leftovers from JF1 - including some dumplings.

He never intended to send those dumplings and if he could go back in time, they would've been left out - but you cannot change what happened in the past and the fury Hendo three in his direction gave the MRO no choice but to let Marx go, not wanting the new team to be tainted by sexism before they've even managed to complete a single season. After that day, he stayed in the shadows in Riverside and avoided the public eye at all costs, wondering what could've been if he hadn't made that stupid mistake...but the itch of motorsports never went away despite the way he was forced out and when KSAjK were looking for someone to get HM up and running, the MRO (surprisingly for him) pointed in Marx's direction.

The 2nd season was even better than the first as both T2 cars made that Chase and HM overall could claim a historic first Cup win at the Exhibition 500-Mile Race in Hapilopper. The main aim for this time around will be to try and make it back to both Chases, maybe getting another win or two if possible, but the real story is going to be about what happens next year...and a move so interesting, everyone is going to want to have a say. Next year, for NSSCRA 15, HM's NSSCRA program is permanently expanding from 4 cars to 6. That will obviously mean a bit of a reshuffle, so expect those in T2 and even in AOCAR to battle it out for the right to be here this time next year. Luota minuun, et halua missata tätä.

NAAMIOITUNUT (The Disguised) - #38 Lam Chow-Cheung (林周翔)
Race Engineers: Huang Zhu (26, TJUN-ian Chinese, M) and Eila Juurikkala (31, Finnish, F)

Lam Chow-Cheung was never supposed to fly the flag of Kimi-Suomi at the NSSCRA level, but their appearance here is the result of a situation out of their or our control. Lam (aged 20) hails from Hongxai over in TJUN-ia's CEA Zone and showed a passion for motorsports from a very young age, initially supported by their parents and extended family. However, that would all change when LCC came out as non-binary to the world (ei-binäärinen in our native tongue, 非二进制 (Fēi èrjìnzhì) in theirs) - which means that while their preferred sex is unclear, they themself doesn't see themself as either male or female. They started using they/them as their preferred pronouns and wearing clothing many would describe as "androgynous", exhibiting nothing that would indicate they were a specific gender. But that didn't go down well with the family, who still called them "our boy" and kept calling them a disgrace to everything they believed in. They were swiftly disowned by the only people they really knew - an event so traumatic, that they opted to wear a white mask over their face for the rest of that season...an act they continued for a long time, the supposed dishonour heavy on the shoulders until they felt ready to finally remove it publically after winning in Hap City.

Even after that pain, Lam refused to give up and became a force so strong that the CEA-MRO were practically singing their praises on a daily basis. With that much pressure, the MRO finally relented and gave Lam some big domestic races in Abanhfleft, Hapilopper and The Sherpa Empire to showcase their talents to the world. The plan always was that they would go to JR as driver #6 and hone their talents over there...but then Gongming Gao ended up stuck in TJUN-ia for reasons out of everyone's control and JR was stuck in a pickle, wanting to give Gao a drive but also wanting to give Lam a chance...so they called Marx. A deal was reached that benefited everyone: Lam would go to HM as the charter driver in exchange for HM receiving Dart cars and technical information from last season from JR.

So that's how LCC ended up here in the cold...and that was only the beginning. Season 2 of LCC in the NSSCRA would certainly be eventful as a debut win was achieved, a run to the Top 12 in the Chase was the reward and they and the Rainbow Kid officially became one. This Lam is certainly different from the one who arrived here 2 years ago, a being that is slowly turning into the icon that many did feel they could become, and while their confidence has certainly flown, they don't want that first win last year to be their only win. They shall wink, smile and have fun no matter what...but a return to the Chase is the goal for LCC this time.
Image
Their Main Livery
Image
The Visible Livery, to tell the world that Lam is who they are and there is nothing you can do about it.

Livery Schedule
Main: Rounds 1-6, Rounds 10-11, Rounds 17-19, 23-25
Visible: Exhibition, Rounds 7-9, Rounds 13-16, 20-22, 26

VUOHI (The Goat) - #71 Aurélia Karvonen
Race Engineer: Eero Casagrande (31, TJUN-ian Finnish, M)

The term "Greatest Of All Time" gets thrown around plenty of times in the world of sport, given to those that both deserve and don't deserve the 4-letter moniker, but in terms of the history of motorsports in Kimi-Suomi, there is only one GOAT to talk about: Aurélia Karvonen.
Karvonen (aged 32) has been a constant across racing in the part of the world ever since her karting days at aged 15, long before we even got the idea to start competing in international events across the universe. She's done a lot of winning during her long career across a wide range of sporting categories. Moto, Rally, Stock, Open-Wheel, Endurance, GT, Trucks - you name it, she's done it and won a few races at that.

Naturally, when she heard the chance to race internationally for her homeland was on the table, she jumped at the opportunity and one year of experience in the AOGP series was deemed enough for her to try and get into NSSCRA races as a non-charter. She's certainly very passionate about the sport and won't take shit from anyone - which would certainly help her in her debut campaign. Last season wasn't as fruitful as her first in this series, but her late-season form showed that she certainly still had something left in the tank as she starts to approach the twilight of her illustrious career. This season's non-charter stakes are going to be hell on earth...but anyone can deal with it, it's the Vuohi. And she knows it.
Image

RAUHALLINEN (The Quiet) - #07 Kaarina Salo
Race Engineer: Ida Easteden (27, Finnish, F)

While the Everlong Contenders' Series has always been a favourite of many, a series in which both youth and experience clash in chaotic fashion every race weekend, the lack of upward progression towards the MCS in some years has left some wondering about the point of NSSCRA's 2nd Tier. But now that HM is expanding to 6 cars next year, that means one of HMT2's young guns is guaranteed to be racing in the Cup Series full-time next year...and that dream can certainly do things to a driver. The question will be, who out of our T2 weapons can survive the war and get that seat?

Car #07 is Kaarina Salo (aged 20), a prodigy some argued could become as great as Karvonen if she could pull her weight and show her class. Salo is known in the racing circles as "Rauhallinen" - "The Quiet", due to her quiet tone in interviews and how she glides so gracefully around a track, that it feels like a whisper in the wind. Putting a driver known for grace and elegance in a rugged sport like NSSCRA seemed counterintuitive, but sometimes it's not all about the driving style - it's about how you race against those around you. Her 2nd season started with a bang as she won her first-ever race right out of the gate, which would eventually lead to a 3-Win season that would end in a spot in the Chase Top 8. That run will mean she might be considered the favourite to end up in T1 next year, but that is not her immediate concern. She will focus on getting back to the Chase and that alone.

MYRSKY (The Storm) - #7 Ilmari Pëkannen
Race Engineer: Mikko Toikka (37, Finnish, M)

In contrast to Salo, Car #7 is Ilmari Pëkannen (aged 24), a driver who certainly has a bit of a reputation back home. "Myrsky" - "The Storm" - could be seen by outside observers as a "Finnish Drake Stevenson" - someone who's not afraid to push and shove on track and let his voice be heard on the radio. Basically, if anyone's gonna challenge Drake for the Radio Sweetheart crown, it might be Pëkannen - and he might take that as a compliment overall. The first time felt like a natural fit for Ilmari, but failing to make the Chase last season means that it is he who is under the most pressure to perform in this pivotal year for the T2 program. Making it back will be a minimum if he wants to claim that spot in the elite next year...and no matter what it takes, he will have to go hell for leather if he wants to beat Salo for that seat.

Driver Name: Jupiter Cosmos
Age: 38
Team Name: The Team from Outer Space
CAR NUMBER: #1

Jupiter Cosmos is 38 years old. On December 26 it was another birthday of JUPITER

Jupiter will respond to the nick name COSMO

In the youth COSMO was very aggressive driver on gravity tracks. This is because in SPACE there is an extra dimension to move in. Jupiter has spend most of the career racing only in SPACE but there was a time at the age 26 when Cosmo drives in gravity for the experience. The success had limitations and Jupiter returns to driving in SPACE after this time. Now JUPITER is racing NSSCRA and smaller SATURN racing OWARS.

Let us discuss about the style that COSMO is known for.

The best thing about Jupiter Cosmos always Jupiter will try to finish a race. There is not a quit button on COSMO even if there is a roof missing on this car or a wheel is in the engine Jupiter will still make the car go. Jupiter does not have a preference on a type of track but the speed on the big track like the super size track is going to be an appeal for this driver.

The most important thing for the SPACE racing car is only one thing. Aerodynamics. The engine is maybe not the best in power but it will be reliable. The chassis is not great. Aerodynamics are the best. The pit crew train without gravity and also with gravity. they can be fast and reliable but the tight of the pit road may need an adjustment.

With the discussion of the car, a look at it now.

This will be a partnership on Xanneria and United Haksland a fine nation with SPACE.

The Valentians – Meet your Drivers!

OOC: Most of the introduction I am writing and posting for NSSCRA 14 have been copied (all or most of it) from my NSSCRA 13 intro, found here: viewtopic.php?p=39895655#p39895655

Multiversal:
Exuberant Superintendent T-2000/2904-3 Surveillant Clarissa Alanis Star Breya « La Amoureux Chéri » Millie Taissa Butterfly Mélody Coraline Jolijn Trini Clementine Hollie Samantha Zeta Harumi, one of the most well-known faces of the NSSCRA series, as well as in the world of Valentine Z, comes back yet again for another season, and this time, she hopes that she will be able to do much better, at least to be able to get into the Chase season. With an overall position of 22nd for the previous season, Clarissa wonders as to what kind of fixes and tweaks that she will need to do to her code, perhaps along with clearing her RAM and backing up into the storage units to both clear her mind, while also making sure that the data is still safe in the non-volatile data in case she needs it again. “I don’t know what else to try! Maybe it is just my luck, at the end of the day,” she commented, with a couple of news reporters and journalists already around her. “Hmm, well, I am not going to give up anytime soon, that is for sure! Maybe this will be a big break for us, what with this being the 14th season, you know? We shall see!” She also hints that there is another robot that is around in NSSCRA as well, and that she is a younger sister of Clarissa who is starting off in Everlong. That is perhaps one too many hints, and the people soon realize who she was talking about.
Image

Anastasia “De Sierlijke en Vrij High Valkyrie ov Valentine Z” Freya Valentina Ada. Jolin Annelijn Caitlin Trijntje Crystal Clarice Constance Judy Voi. D. Nexitros Annile Teresa Thida Myat Yadana Aye still does not need any form of introduction for the fans and newcomers at this point. Coming into the racing sensation from NSSCRA 9, she quickly and tremendously rose to fame after her consecutive wins in NSSCRA 10, along with the championship that followed. She was quickly cleared of the suspicions that she was cheating and playing dirty behind the scenes and of everyone’s backs, on two events – one that the Valentians have proved themselves innocent as much as they possibly can to the best of their abilities, mainly because a lot of people around them are still cynical of the technological and magical advancements of Anastasia. On top of that, with Anastasia not getting the best of the results for NSSCRA 13, it puts her as one of the extraordinary-but-not-cheating drivers that rose up to the ranks a little too fast simply from her talent. Will she take her third championship for NSSCRA 14? Only time (and Fate) will tell.
Image

Chief Aviator Gwen Tracer Hepburn “Fate of Existence and the Omniverse” Ellen Trixie Caitlin Foxworthy Avril Verlene Eveline Celinda Sammy Doris T-Rev Oxton Arielle Lindall Leslie Vitesse Allison says her usual catchphrase, “Cheers, Love!” much to the delight and the happiness of all of her fans all swooning for her. Ever since the Valentians got into NSSCRA 8, there is a particular car that has remained more or less the same, one that has the crowd of audience being unable to take their eyes off of it, for it is bright and colorful and attracted a lot of attention. Enter the #31, driven by the Master of Space and Time herself. Outside of the track, she uses the power to the fullest extent, fast-forwarding the relatively boring parts, slowing down the savory moments, and everything else along the way to help herself, and more importantly to help others. On the track, however, the Valentians know that she manipulated the timeline to a very small and passive extent, making sure to only leave DNFs and small crashes here and there. For NSSCRA 13, she has the both fortune and misfortune of ending up 5th without any wins. Just like a Valentian, however, Gwen thought about this positively, wondering if she could try the same thing again this season. “Don’t get me wrong, I love winning as much as everyone else here. But… you know, what if I end up 2nd or 3rd or some high placement for all of the races, and then bam, I enter the Chase by points alone. Hell, maybeeee I can even get a championship from points alone, if that is allowed as per the rules. All of it speculation, naturally!"
Image

Everlong:
Valentijn “De Sierlijke en Vrij Valkyrie General ov Valentine Z” Samantha Maxwell Delta Weston Stijn Angelus Tracey Mitchell Tristian Marnix Basilisk Lewis Hyatt X. Constantine Sein Lin Zaw Naing stands tall at a massive 117 m, definitely taller than some of the smaller statues that Valentine Z has of her just for historical purposes. After all, she is not that much of a fan of lavish settings and buildings. She likes herself to be big, yes, but she is definitely a humble and gentle person deep down, and NSSCRA has also shown that – herself, along with the rest of the Valentian drivers, are not exactly the ones to start fights and getting themselves involved in some mess, and also simply wanted to race. “There was a time and a season where I have won 5 races- or was it 6? Yeah, I won those number of races in Everlong on that season. The previous season, I don’t know, I’ve to pick up and do better. I know I can!”
Image

Foresittend Marcus Alan Ariel Maximillian “Unendlichkeit Jäger” Swifty Felix Maverick Prometheus Revlin Lynx Artyom Lichtenstein Baptiste C. Talon Haydn Lincoln Taal Reynolds Fang Wu Ying could be seen in his garage, tuning on the car and checking the parts, while his living armour sat beside the car, looking around and helping out Marcus in any way they can. With all of that done, Marcus then proceeded to polish and clean the armour’s externals a bit as it sat down gently and patiently for their bonded companion. “All done,” he said calmly, throwing the rag and towels into a laundry bin to wash separately later. That is perhaps the best way to describe and show their calm demeanors, with Marcus having never yelled at anyone perhaps except raising his voice to talk in a very noisy area, along with the suit of armour with living alien worms inside that have been revived and then bonded to Marcus, akin to that of a friendship, and even a bit as a sibling or a companion of sorts. Marcus has never worn the armour into his car, since it turns out that he is going to have his maneuverability impeded, along with needing to wear a fire suit as part of the NSSCRA regulations. He often races alongside his close friend Valkyrie Valentijn, and bar special circumstances, the two were seen with unparallel synergy. With Michelle in the mix, that synergy simply adds.
Image

1st Commander Michelle Karen Kassandra Zann Harley Iliana “Nezastavitelná Síla” Breya Angelina Jayne Valérie Vítková Breanna Shirley Geigen Deborah Beveline Tegan Evelyn Saniya Pavlína is the newest addition to the team, and perhaps a relatively unique and interesting one to come into the world of stock car racing. A Czech nationality from the Pre-Valentian Era, and now serving as the Chief of Police for the entirety of Valentine Z, her job for the most parts involved paperwork and the usual low-level arrests, and even then they only occurred perhaps once every few weeks or months. Sure, she had participated and got involved in high-speed chases before, at least back in those days in the Pre-Valentian Era, along with the earlier decades of Valentine Z whereby crime was not as low, and rehabilitation was still being tried out. Ultimately a problem-solver who likes to take things the easy route, not liking the attitude of playing bad cop on everyone that she sees, even the most egregious ones, she has worked together with Vice Foresittend Jolyn and the other Valentians in making sure that the Valentian Police Department is all about rehabilitating and educating the populace, only using carefully applied force whenever necessary. For NSSCRA, and looking at the previous season, we have indeed saw that Michelle has retained quite a bit of her skills.

The Gardeners – Meet your Drivers!

OOC: Most of the introduction I am writing and posting for NSSCRA 14 have been copied (all or most of it) from my NSSCRA 13 intro, found here: viewtopic.php?p=39895656#p39895656

Multiversal:
Holly Aceline “De Stralend en Wonderbaarlijk Licht Koningin Van Haar Mooie Universum” Aurora Symantha Vreugde Astrid Lavender Lexis Lilac Harmony Tsi. Marlie Nova Radiant Lapia Starlight is still the very last entity most people, including Valentians, expected to be in the world of Motorsports. A rather chronic isolationist and only opening up to the Valentians only when needed, one wonders as to why – a being that is the friend of the trees and nature (both of Earth and of her own dimension) – would do in such a place where the cars generated a lot of heat and a fair amount of carbon footprint, and there is a lot of media attention whenever there is a crash, a podium finish (which she has received before), or something else along the way. Still, having participated in a couple of seasons at this point, along with being a host for one of the last 4 races of this season, Holly’s more than confident.
Image

Anna “De Eeuwige Vreugde” Caitlin Madeline Brigitte Priscilla Teresa Mavis Thanda Pwint Thinzar Nwe, Tweede Verpersoonlijking van De Sierlijke und Verwonderlijk Feline Utopia ov Valentine Z is also a rather exotic character even for the Valentians. For one, she is technically not a person, and not something imaginary considering her traits and what she represents. In short, she is one of the three personifications of Valentine Z. There is one for the lush nature (kind of like Gaia, in essence), one for the love of cats (and other pets), and of course, there is Anna herself who represents happiness and joy of Valentine Z. That is not to say that her death (if possible) will not kill the happiness of the Valentians; rather, she reflects the happiness, niceness, joyfulness, and compassion of the Valentians as a whole, and she is more than happy with such an honour. Recently joined the foray of NSSCRA as well, this being her third season, and with more optimism regardless of the results, Anna wonders as to if she could passively rub this off onto the other drivers, not necessarily by force, but by just her very presence helping people.
Image

Head Secretary Jamie Izabella Maxie Clara “The Elegant and Magnificent Mathematician” Pernella Ellie Natie Lexie Marie Valerie Ruby Æstriðr Fni. Clementine Millicent Lizbeth Alex Cass Eirian, by definition and from her name, is the Head Secretary of Valentine Z, along with being the leader and caretaker of the territory of Voorzichtigheid, parts of what used to be United States of America, now under Valentine Z and in essence, lead by Jamie herself. The territory is a little bit more militaristic in nature, but definitely not dictatorial and functions just like Valentine Z. There are a lot more military installations among the civilization infrastructures, owing to the fact that in the event that Valentine Z gets invaded by external forces (which it had), this place can be used to evacuate and store non-combatant civilians safely, while also being the last bastion and put up a good fight against their invaders. Going back to Jamie herself, perhaps it is her elegant and articulated Transatlantic accent that gives her a lot of popularity. Or it might be the way she handles most mathematical problems with ease. Or because she is the head of the Orange Paw, a leading fashion and clothes company that makes and produces attractive yet ethical dresses and clothes for all occasions – from casual wear, to bed wear, to smart casual, to professional, to just about anything. She is definitely no stranger to the non-Valentians, especially those in The Sherpa Empire, what with her having participated in it before all these time, and this being her first NSSCRA season after leaving IRACT on good terms.
Image

Everlong:
Vice Foresittend Jolyn Maxine Caulfield Moira “Неуловимая, Женщина-шпион” Marlene Wendy Lucille Lapis Jill Khorosheva Vin. Zolina łnt. Natasha Vasilisa Helen Ceeta Tescelyn Maximovna has a bit of interesting history when it comes to her time in international motorsports. Many, including her, believes that she could have gotten those two championships in place of Anastasia if only she sticks to NSSCRA instead of going into the world of Grand Prix and failing rather miserably at it, to the point that she was encouraged into resignation over the losses. It did not cause her a lot of embarrassment and scrutiny from the media, but she definitely fees that it was a misopportunity, one where just because she can try, does not mean that she should have. On the other hand, Jolyn herself has more than moved on from this very fact, happy for her friend, Anastasia, winning the championships and genuinely wishing her the best of luck along with the rest of the Valentians. With the not very stellar record in Multiversal too, and then happily giving the opportunity to Jamie, Jolyn now joins Everlong, along with two new G6MR drivers.
Image

Zastępca Strażnika Adriana Krystal Desiree “Cudowny Manipulacja Światłem” Venus Kowalski Faith Stanisława Engelse I. Cherise Krystyna Zaborowska Sztormowska Pamela Alina Re. T. Lillian hails from her experience as a formula car driver in WGP2 and WGPC, then wanting to try out NSSCRA and bring her experience in driving around road courses into the, well, road course races in NSSCRA. She was not the best in the realms of WGPC, but at the same time, she has become more or less respectable under Fireline Motorsports, in terms of winning two Feature races in a row, along with a couple of podium finishes here and there. Adriana hopes that this will bring her more experience, while it was confirmed that her partition is going to be in a certain formula racing season (OWARS), then in WGPC. Only time will tell on if this is per the code and regulations, but since the two separate Adrianas are going to be running the two events separately, the “remote-controlled car” rule is not broken. What is broken, possibly, might be the idea of being in two places at the same time, and getting twice the experience. Unless, perhaps, Adriana chose to learn at half the rate in each of the places, so that she would still get the full experience *after* combining both of her memories. Though truth be told, so far, her clone does not seem to be doing a great job…

L. Cpl. Duruljiayiji Matthew Russell Victor Zackary James Adrian “Гэрэл” Rayleigh Vin. R. Jarchigudai Shinghk Bazile Aspertia Bachart Morris Tedbald Rollon Ingram Emlig Mauci Dayir Yerentai: is one of the new Valentians to come on board for NSSCRA, hailing from the plains of Mongolia in the Valentian Era, so he was born after the nuclear war, restoration project, and Valentine Z was established. Duruljiayiji learned about the culture he was born into through a series of history textbooks and the like, such as learning to ride a horse and living on the plains. In a typically Valentian twist, of course, he did volunteer and expose himself to more technological advancements along the way and eventually, from horse-riding, he became fascinated by race cars and has participated in Valentine Z’s Government-approved road races, and some domestic races here and there. “It’s like a horse, except mechanical. And maybe a bit more temperamental,” Duruljiayiji remarked, “I hope my first season will go rather well, and of course, maybe to make some friends too (especially from Sherpa Empire) along the way, that would be really nice.”

Team Tropicorp Preview :: #1 Maddie Alexander

#1 :: Maddie Alexander

Career Statistics :: #1 Maddie Alexander

W T5 T10 Pole Pts Pos.
---------------------------------
N11: 0 4 7 1 23 (ROTY)
N12: 0 2 10 0 17
N13: 0 3 11 1 23

Entering into her third season of NSSCRA Competition with Team Tropicorp, expectations were high for Maddie Alexander. The former Everlong Contenders Series star had once been tapped as the future of Team Cassadaigua and stepped into to replace the legendary Stacie Houston when the Dagan Champion took time off to raise her family. The temporary loss of Houston, however, also saw reduced investment in the Team Cassadaigua team and a merger was formed with Team Tropicorp, bringing Alexander and the #27 brand to Tropicoast. In her debut season, Maddie Alexander picked up four Top 5 finishes including a best finish of 2nd place en route to Rookie of the Season Honors. The highlight was naturally the pole position that Alexander earned on her teams new home track for the Tropicorp 500 - a race that would be won by fellow Dagan and Teammate Jenna Logan.

As many drivers experience, Maddie's second campaign saw a bit of a slump stats wise - although her lack of DNF's allowed her to improve to a Top 20 Finish in the point standings. Just two Top 5 finishes - both 4th place runs with the first coming at the Toys '4' All 500 in Vilita and the other at the Tyrrhenian Heavens 500 in Valentine Z. The team were anxious to put the disappointing campaign behind them and focus on the new Season. Things seemed to be starting off amazing for the team Qualifying 3rd for the pre-season Exhibition at Tundra Falls and finishing Runner-Up in that event to TJUN-ia's Alfonso Mercado. Unfortunately that would be Maddie's best finish of the season as she picked up just two points-paying Top 5 finishes with the lone memorable highlight for Driver and Sponsor being once again a Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Award earned in Tropicoast putting the #1 in the #1 starting spot for the Tropicorp 500.

Season 14 Outlook :: While Tropicorp and the Sifaka advertising group were satisfied with the press surrounding Alexanders Pole Runs in Tropicorp, it is a contract year for the Dagan driver. Since the bulk of Alexander's funding comes from the team, Alexander has no financial safety net to fall back on. It is rumored that the leash has gotten shorter and the expectation is for Alexander to win at least one race this season. If the Dagan driver is unable to deliver the checkers for the Sifaka #1 in Tires Machine, it is likely that Team Tropicorp re-assign her to the Everlong Contenders Series to further her development and look to put a more experienced driver in the #1 to get the team's flagship car into victory lane for the first time.

Time To Defend This Crown

This blog was written by Derrick Carlisle, Jaguar Racing's Social Media Manager
Home of the Season X ECS and Season 13 MCS Champions

As if you needed any reminders of what happened last season...but I'll happily remind you anyway. Last season was the greatest season in the history of this organisation as we managed 8 wins across the season in both tiers (9 if you count the Exhibition), including that all-important one in Tundra Falls at the end of the season that would grant us our first ever Cup Series title in our 5th season in this sport. The fact we had 3 drivers make it to the final weekend with a shot at a title was crazy enough, but getting the big one caused massive celebrations across the International Community and a general buzz around TJUN-ian racing that hasn't gone away, not by a long shot.

But the feelings that emerge as we return to the NSSCRA arena are ones of change and unknowing. The hunters now have the targets at their backs and now, shit will get real. Things have certainly changed during the offseason and while all of our cars are guaranteed charters, the fact this Cup Series grid is now 62 cars long is just incredible beyond comprehension. Who saw North China coming back? or Quebec debuting? Or the fucking Nimbus System stepping into the stock car arena?! Even we had to deal with change during the off-season, but we'll talk about that later.

"ÍSFRÚIN" HARPA GYLFISDÓTTIR

Age: 32
Place of Birth: Nýttheimili, NAU Zone
twii.tur @: @IsfruinJR
Managing Style: Straight And To The Point, Not Afraid To Make A Statement If Required
NSSCRA 13 Record: WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, MOTHERFUCKER!
Favourite TJUN Rep: Froslass (Faroe Islands/FRO)
Favourite TJUN-Tunes Song: Gorillaz - Charger (feat. Grace Jones)

Nýttheimili's finest and the sister of famous goalie Harold Gylfisson, you could safely say that Harpa Gylfisdóttir was happy that Daniel Marx bottled being the Team Manager the way he did because now she was the leader of a NSSCRA-winning team and no one in the whole multiverse could take that away from her. Getting those 8 (or 9) wins across the season and the MCS title only did wonders for her team's stature within the NSSCRA community and suddenly, her Chase Contender had suddenly become the Team To Beat in the blink of an eye. How JR will deal with being the ones with the crown will certainly be interesting to see, as will the fact the team had to change things in T2 rather suddenly, but she will enter this new season hoping that this team can defend that crown with pride if nothing else. The whole team shall wear golden armbands, on her command, until the crown leaves our possession.

DERRICK CARLISLE

Age: 28
Place of Birth: Riverside, JagBase TJUN-ia
twii.tur @: @JagRacing (team) or @DCarJR (personal)
Blogging Style: Tries To Get As Much Down As Possible, Really Good (In My Opinion)
NSSCRA 13 Record: Not A Saint, But Not Too Bad Either
Favourite TJUN Rep: Bisharp (United Arab Emirates/UAE)
Favourite TJUN-Tunes Song: Disciples - On My Mind

Ah yes, me! The Derrick Carlisle, the man who writes all the blogs for JR (including this one right now) is back at it again for another season! Of course, we will have MOTR and MemeWatch back for the 4th time, but I have been told that I shouldn't "let representing the defending champions get to your head" - Isfrúin's words, not mine. I will certainly try my best to do just that although if I do fuck that up, feel free to complain about that in your preferred medium. It should be interesting nonetheless and I hope you all have a good time

#07 MICHAEL "KAISER" STEFAN

Age: 25
Place of Birth: Studtgraff, NAU Zone
twii.tur @: @Stefan07
Driving Style: Consistent Aggression (A Mark From His Open-Wheel Days)
NSSCRA 13 Record: Multiversal Cup Series Champion (5050CPts/2 Wins)
Overall Win Count: 8
Favourite TJUN Rep: Ludwig von Koopa (Germany/GER)
Favourite TJUN-Tunes Song: Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

The most famous son of Studtgraff and the German community as a whole, Michael Stefan's 1-year absence from the Cup Series Chase ended up becoming the greatest thing that could've happened to him, the reset allowing him to refind his confidence and push on to become NSSCRA's Kaiser, a nickname the media adopted and one he will fully embody for this season as a result (not in a cocky way though, just because it sounded fitting to him). Studtgraff went fucking nuts as soon as he won that crown, with talks of a statue and a street named after him being floated in the local council, but right now, the only thing the Kaiser is concerned about is defending that crown and the experience of being the defending champion. Oh, and chilling with his boyfriend as well. Can't forget about that one.

Image
#64 ALFONSO MERCADO

Age: 23
Place of Birth: San Pedro del Vasquez, UAC Zone
twii.tur @: @AM64
Driving Style: With Youthfulness and Ability (i.e. He's Pretty Good!)
NSSCRA 13 Record: 3rd (5037CPts/1 Win+Ex/Chase Championship 4)
Overall Win Count: 2 (3 if you count S13 Ex)
Favourite TJUN Rep: Miles "Tails" Prower (Spain/ESP)
Favourite TJUN-Tunes Song: Years & Years - Palo Santo

San Pedro del Vasquez had a representative in the NSSCRA Championship Four and while the honours went to his boyfriend on the day, the effort that Alfonso Mercado put in last season should not be forgotten at all. Many expected Mercado to not reach the same highs he did in NSSCRA 11, being the only Jag in the Chase and making it to the Top 8, but the fact he made the Final 4 alongside Stefan showed once and for all that JR was not a 1-man band in the MCS and should never be considered that from here on out. Of course, the main aim for the offseason was cuddling the new champion (and why the hell not) but now that the race suits are back on, the aim for Mercado is to try and make another deep run by making it back to the Chase. Right now, he's happy the team has gold...but would winning the crown himself keep it that way? Who knows.

#03 MADDISON RILEY-JONES

Age: 24
Place of Birth: Wollongmatta Bay, UO Zone
twii.tur @: @MaddyRJ03
Driving Style: Fun On The Outside, Determination Within! (i.e. She's Fun To Talk To, But You Don't Want To Cross Her On The Track!)
NSSCRA 13 Record: 17th (798pts)
Overall Win Count: 4 Total/1 in T1
Favourite TJUN Rep: Sticks the Badger (Australia/AUS)
Favourite TJUN-Tunes Song: Men At Work - Down Under

Hailing from Wollongmatta Bay in the UO Zone (which is just the Manufano Islands), Maddy (as she prefers to be called) is now not the only Champion JR has within its ranks as the former inaugural Contenders Series Champion was joined by Micky in the JR section of the TJUN-ian Hall of Fame. Of course, she was happy for her teammate, but now, our Aussie giant is starting to feel like the odd one out in our T1 program as the only one not to even make the T1 Chase yet. That, obviously, will be the main goal of her 4th season in the top tier and she will be hoping to do just that and feel like she is really contributing to the overall effort of the team (even though we continue to tell her that she is doing just fine). Of course, she will still have her cheerleader behind her...but in an unexpected capacity.

OPEN CHARTER/TEST DRIVER
#97 ROBIN DRAGONOVIC

Age: 26
Place of Birth: Trunskt, South Newlandia (now resides in Wollongmatta Bay, UO Zone)
twii.tur @: @RD97SNL
Driving Style: Certainly Has Talent, But Is Humble With A Capital H.
NSSCRA 13 Record: 12th (3108CPts/2 Wins/T2 Chase Top 12)
Final(?) Win Count: 5 (6 if you count PS11)
Favourite TJUN Rep: IDK If He Knows What This Is...
Favourite TJUN-Tunes Song: Same Here...

South Newlandia's finest actually didn't do too badly last season in the EverLong Contenders Series, managing to win 2 races and make the Top 12 of the Chase, but it was a "lack of drive" combined with a "renewed focus on my own wellbeing" that would lead to the shock decision to retire from full-time running. It certainly was a shock to the system for everyone in the JR ranks and while his abilities will be a big hole to fill, we certainly understand his decision and hope he does well for himself no matter what. He has been retained by JR as a Test driver, who will be looking to make sporadic appearances in T1 events as an Open Charter.

Favourite TJUN-Tunes Song: Benny Cristo - omaga

The unexpected semi-retirement of Robin Dragonovic means that Jiji la Ngao's Alice Jepkosgei will be considered the new leader of the JRT2 program, which is certainly deserved after making it all the way to the Final 4 of last season's Contenders Series and ending up as last season's runner up. Being the first bridesmaid to Pyotr Lavrentiev, who will be back to defend his crown, certainly put her in the conversation to make another deep run this time and while that is certainly good and all, she will hope to answer those lofty ambitions on the track when the time comes. Her boyfriend will do so as well, of course...

#70 GONGMING GAO

Age: 28-ish
Place of Birth: Lanzhou, The Northern Chinese Republic (now resides in Tiankong, CEA Zone with weekends in Jiji la Ngao, AU Zone)

Driving Style: Was Just About There For Beiyang, Now Has To Fight Despite Everything Around Him
NSSCRA 13 Record: 13th (2261CPts/2 Wins/T2 Chase)
Overall Win Count: 4
Favourite TJUN Rep: I Don't Think He Cares About This.
Favourite TJUN-Tunes Song: Or This TBH.

Gongming Gao slightly regressed last season, making the T2 Chase but did not really make his own personal impact, but he was undoubtedly impactful overall as his performances as the "ultimate wingman" would help his GF AJ make the Final 4 in the end. While helping AJ out certainly felt good emotionally, he himself aspires for greater things and hopes to try and make his own run in the near future. Not being the newest JR recruit in the team may help psychologically, though no one knows to what degree.

#79 AXEL CHASE

Age: 18
Place of Birth: Port Neptune, CU Zone

Driving Style: Blink And You'll Miss Them, Both On Wheels and Legs
NSSCRA 13 Record: N/A
Overall Win Count: N/A
Favourite TJUN Rep: Dhelmise (Barbados/BAR)
Favourite TJUN-Tunes Song: J Hus - Bouff Daddy

The main consequence of Robin Dragonovic's semi-retirement was the unexpected vacancy in the JRT2 programme...and considering this was a team who just won the fucking Cup last season, you better believe that this seat was in demand. Our offices were filled with applications from across TJUN-ia and beyond and in the end, the best 34 were sent to Jungle Circuit in order to prove their worth. We certainly collected plenty of data on the talent we could hold at our disposal but in the end, we announced our pick for that 6th seat via a press conference just one month ago. And his name is Axel Chase.

Hailing from Port Neptune in the CU Zone, a region more known for Athletics and Cricket above much else, the 18-year-old did have a background in track and field, but decided his best shot to stardom would be on wheels instead of on his feet. That means that while he can outsprint almost everyone on the NSSCRA grid (trust us, we tried), he's a sneaky good race driver on the track and is well-known back in the local scene for always sneaking his way into the Top 5 one way or another. That elusiveness may be due to his lack of aggression towards his opponents, well known back home for his laidback attitude and his snazzy dress code (white jacket, nice shoes, nice sunglasses and a smile that can make anyone drop their guard). He may look like the average Caribbean cool boy, but be careful...he can fight back when needed!

Secondary: Patterson Trucks, Fresh Cola

Contingency Sponsors: Redways Hapiloppian Van Lines, Hi-Tech Brake Pads, GOON Chassis Parts, SuperTV Satellite Television, Hobbs Beer, C:\>RetroHut, Pinkerton Engine Bearings, Ida's Parts By Mail, HTS Industrial Manufacturing, Urban Fryers Fried Foodstuffs, EverLong Convenience Stations, Hydroceramic Parts, Slant Radiator Pressure Caps, Perfect 10 Motels, Huntsman Parts, LOOK! Gauges, Phoenix Insurance Brokers, UltraValue Master Mechanic Stores, Romlin Spark Plugs, BA Racing, Good Motor Oil, PermaCool Antifreeze

TEAM PERSONNEL YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW ABOUT.

Team Owner: Oliver Marlin
Image

Oliver Marlin is what you would call a lifer. The chief executive officer of Southside Bank, now the second-largest bank in Hapilopper, Oliver Marlin was born in Halsted, but his family moved to Hapilopper City not long after the Wreckerian Civil War started. While Marlin has spent his life working from the bottom up at Southside, he also took on a hobby of stock car racing, first as a driver, then as a sponsor, and starting in 1996, a car owner. He believes in patience with his drivers, which shouldn't be surprising. Many that work under Marlin at Southside say he's one of the most employee-friendly bosses in all of Hapilopper and is a firm believer in the mantra "Take care of your employees, and they'll take care of you." He believes in being patient with his drivers' shortcomings - if they can produce, he can work with that.

HASCAR Starts: 410 | Wins: 58 | HASCAR Challenge Cups: 3 (2022, 2023, 2024)
NSSCRA Starts: 26 | Wins: 0 | NSSCRA Championships: 0
The Pit Box Chief: Pat Howard (twii.tur: @PitBoxChief) | Spotter: Bobby Middleton (twii.tur: @BobbyMiddle60)
Driving Style: Intelligently aggressive | Demeanor: Relaxed | Retaliation?: It will happen

Maybe we should have expected it, but Tyson Hoyt had himself a rough go of things during his first season in the NSSCRA, but it could have been worse. Much unlike what everyone expected, Tyson didn't let his temper get the best of him. There were no emotional outbursts as was expected from HASCAR's old bad boy. Instead, Tyson just put his head down and tried to make the most of it, and he did make some good of it during the season, running up front at times. With new equipment from Preston Autos, two new teammates and the very popular "Pit Box Chief" Pat Howard on the pit wagon making the calls, Tyson is very optimistic for the coming season.

To say the very least, Tyson is very optimistic about the coming season, and even more so about working with the new teammates - one he spent a number of years with in years past. He has even said that with the changes made with the team, he feels like his team - or one of the teams from the Oliver Marlin stable - could contend for a Chase position, if they can get out of the logjam of qualifying. If not, he's got a great life going already. During the offseason, he married his longtime girlfriend Gina, and the two are looking at having their first child soon.

Driving Style: Very Aggressive | Demeanor: Cocky | Retaliation?: Possibly

We've got a live one. Roosevelt Jenkins was plucked straight from the world of dirt track racing all the way to the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series, and it won't be long before the world knows about him. Maybe it won't have anything to do with his on-track exploits, but rather his off-track ones - specifically his social media presence. You see, Rosey Jenkins could quite possibly be his own number one fan, and judging from the countless selfies he takes of himself and posts to social media, he could be the selfie king of Hapilopper. It makes you wonder what kind of celebration he'll pull off if he wins a race this year.

His looks are taking him places. Roosevelt was recently featured at the top of "Hapilopper's Social Media Influencers Under 25 to Watch" by Young Hapiloppian magazine, a very popular magazine for teenage and young adult Hapiloppians. A number of pop stars have talked openly about hooking up with the young racing driver, and that's before he gets out there and competes. Could you imagine how unbearable he could get if he, you know, wins a race? Or two races? For one, the selfies may get more obnoxious than ever.

Crew Chief: Bill Kensington (no twii.tur) | Spotter: Wade Rafferty (twii.tur: @WRafferty)
Driving Style: Cautious | Demeanor: Quiet | Retaliation?: Rare

A last-minute addition to the OMR NSSCRA effort, but not a last-minute addition to the team, Ray Harding, the defending HASCAR Challenge Cup winner, recently picked up sponsorship from Williams Aircraft, a leading manufacturer of private propeller-engined aircraft. That sponsorship has allowed OMR to run a third car for this season's Multiversal Cup season, something they weren't expecting to do this year. And while Ray Harding is perhaps the most nondescript of Marlin Racing's three drivers, he could very well be their most talented.

Harding is also an interesting counterpoint to the Hampton Cities' most famous driver, Taylor Henderson. Hendo, a former NSSCRA champion, and Harding came up through the rough and tumble world of Hampton Cities short track racing. But while Hendo took the "kill or be killed" strategy from the Hampton Cities to HASCAR and then to NSSCRA, Harding seemed to rise above the fray. He stayed quiet. He stayed away from the conflicts. And he won. He won in HASCAR. And he expects he'll win in NSSCRA. The future is bright.

Meet the Sherpalanders...

Image

IRACT -- the Independent Racing Association of the Chinese Territories -- is a domestic racing league in the Sherpa Empire. They are best known for stock car racing, but they also organize a variety of other motorsports events. IRACT was founded seven years ago, but it incorporates many facilities and local racing clubs that have much longer histories. For example, the Li River Speedway (where IRACT's offices are located) has been hosting races for more than 20 years.

Image
Ongmu Yeti
Age: 87
Hometown: Shigatse, Tibet

First things first: That's not a fursona. Ongmu is an actual honest-to-goodness yeti, and her entire crew are also yetis. At first, people were skeptical that yetis could drive, and the yetis were skeptical that it was safe for them to race among humans. Historically, contact between humans and yetis has been limited, and it has been filled with misunderstandings, violence, and fear -- from both sides.

This is Ongmu's first time representing IRACT as a full-time NSSCRA driver, but she is not new to racing. She has been competing in IRACT's domestic racing series for several years, and has made a couple of appearances in NSSCRA as an open charter driver. She has had some success changing people's perceptions about yetis -- but it's an uphill battle. Some people are still intimidated by her size and strength. Other people still believe that yetis are less intelligent than humans because they have difficulty speaking. In reality, yetis are reasonably intelligent, but their throats are not designed for human speech and they often become frustrated and impatient when they are having trouble communicating. When they roar or groan with frustration, humans often misinterpret this as a threat, and people who feel threatened will do all sorts of things.

Ongmu has found that communicating via sign language is easier for her than speaking, and she is on good terms with Kai Qiang and Tsering Chu (both of whom know sign language). She also has a soft spot for the Valentians because of their large sizes and gentle demeanor. Ongmu and her crew are wary about meeting new people because of the complicated history between humans and yetis, but they are here to race, not to get in fights. If you provoke them, they can throw you across the room. But if you approach them calmly and patiently, it is possible to coexist in peace.

Lhakpa-TMW is backed by one of the Sherpa Empire's most popular car brands (TMW) and eccentric billionaire Dawa Sherpa. Dawa also owns an open wheel racing team and the nation's largest farm machinery manufacturer.

Image
Kai Qiang 强凯
Age: 32
Hometown: Guilin, Au Viet (Guangxi)

Kai Qiang is one of the most successful drivers in NSSCRA and one the Sherpa Empire's biggest celebrities. He doesn't always handle his success very well. In fact, throughout his career, he has struggled to manage his mental health. Qiang grew up poor, had a fraught relationship with his father, lost both his parents at a young age, and never finished high school. Although his success in NSSCRA has solved his financial problems, it is also a demanding career that comes with a lot of pressure. Qiang has never completely recovered from his traumatic childhood, and he still has bouts of intense anger or deep depression. He has been embroiled in a variety of controversies and he gets tired of all public scrutiny from fans and media, but most of all he gets tired of being sexualized. He has been the target of a lot of mean-spirited memes poking fun at him for being effeminate.

Qiang is very concerned about how all the fame, the scandals, the haters, and the obsessive fans are affecting his family. He's given up on being truly at peace with his past, but he has not given up on creating a better future for his children. He desperately wants to give them a calm and happy childhood, and he worries that the drama in his life will have a negative impact on them. He has two wives (Mendok and Tsering) and three children (Cammy, Sima, and Charlie), and family life can get pretty chaotic. Mendok has no concept of boundaries, Cammy is constantly getting in trouble at her school, Charlie is still in diapers, Tsering is disabled, Sima is upset by all the loud noises around the house, and they made the questionable decision to adopt a pet drawk that knocks over the furniture.

Wealth is another touchy issue. After years of having financial problems and complaining about economic inequality, Qiang does not really know what to do or how to feel now that he is rich. He still feels out of place among the wealthy elites of society, and he still supports the far left political party Qianhuadang. Sometimes he donates to charitable causes or spends money on other people, but he still isn't sure if he's found the right balance between what he keeps for himself vs. what he shares with others. It makes him deeply uncomfortable to think about just how much money he has won and how much he has spent since getting into NSSCRA.

Image
AutoModi

AutoModi is a factory team backed by a Sherpa car manufacturer. AutoModi's brand is a little more hip and upscale than TMW, but it's not exclusively a luxury brand. They also make everyday vehicles for commuters or middle class families.
Image
Tsering Chu 楚色林
Age: 26
Hometown: Nanjing, Jiangsu

Tsering is Deaf, and although she has not let her disability stop her from having a full life and a successful career, it still forces her to do some things differently from other NSSCRA veterans. Her car has lights on the dashboard to help her communicate with her crew since she can't use the radio.

Off the track, Tsering's upbringing and social life have always been affected by the difficulty of communicating. Since her disability makes it more difficult to meet new friends, she really treasures the ones she already has. Her family's efforts to protect her from getting bullied, lost, or hurt led Tsering to have a fairly sheltered childhood, and she can still be a little naive. She has always had her own goals and aspirations, but has never been fully independent. Her rookie season of NSSCRA, she relied on her friend Mendok to make most of the team's arrangements, including negotiating their sponsorships and securing a charter. Nowadays, she mostly relies on her husband Kai Qiang to act as her ears and help her navigate the world -- but Mendok is still around if they need some extra help.

What she lacks in independence and cockiness, she makes up for with patience, diligence, and work ethic. Tsering is very conscientious about studying the tracks and understanding her car. She is a bit of a nerd and has no problem getting into the technical aspects of racing that some hot shot drivers might brush off as "boring."

Tsering has been racing since she was a teenager, but she took some time off to finish her education and give birth to her daughter Sima. She has had an inconsistent career with moments of absolute brilliance, but also some major slumps, and a long struggle to find her groove again when she returned to NSSCRA in season 10.

Pharaki Drivers on International Teams:

Image
Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal
Age: 33
Hometown: Dali, Yunnan

When Rinzi started racing, the other drivers in IRACT wrote him off as a joke. He was driving a Hongxing that routinely broke down mid-race and his biggest sponsor was his mother's carpet store. Rinzi and another unsuccessful Muslim driver named Kemal Shalhoub were derisively called "Captain Kebab and the Carpet Khan" -- a nickname that also became slang for "backmarkers."

Everything changed when he signed a deal with AutoModi and got himself a reliable car. That was when he won himself an NSSCRA charter, caught the attention of Mayhem who have been an excellent sponsor for him, and met a stylish biracial model named Tashi who would later become his wife. It took a while for the other Sherpa drivers to stop sneering and calling him "Carpet Khan," but gradually it became clear that Rinzi's success was not a fluke and the snarky comments tapered off.

Last season, Rinzi made the decision to leave AutoModi and move to Team Blue. It was difficult to leave AutoModi after all of the good times he had with them, but Team Blue went above and beyond to make Rinzi feel welcome and it proved to be one of the best years of his life. He is enthusiastically embracing his new life in Hapilopper and intends to settle there permanently and become a dual citizen. He has even encouraged Tashi to speak English at home so that their son Mohammed will learn the language more quickly and fit in more easily when he starts school. (Tashi sometimes goes along with this, but other times she speaks Sherpa at home. It depends on her mood.)

Image
Shuzhen Zhu
Age: 29
Hometown: Suzhou, Jiangsu

Shuzhen Zhu has done a little of everything.

Her interest in cars started when she was a little girl watching her father work in his garage. When she got older, she began helping out in the garage and watching races at the Suzhou Racing Club. Then she tried putting together a racing team with some friends. She had some success in IRACT before leaving to attend Nexus Racing Driver Academy, tried her hand at rally in the inaugural season of WSRC, and won a key to the otherworldly city of Virhamia (home to the gods of RNA viruses) as a prize from Rally Ribovia. The next year, she went back to the RNA Kingdom to haggle with gods and ask them to stop the SARS 2 epidemic. When that didn't work, she returned home and consulted a priest to ask if there was anything they could do using the magic from the key to Virhamia or other items that Zhu had acquired in her travels. The priest was fascinated, and Zhu spent a great deal of time consulting with various members of the clergy, answering their questions and allowing them to study the strange magic she had brought home.

When Zhu was finally satisfied that she had done all she could to look for a magical solution to SARS 2, she returned to stock car racing and finally made the jump from IRACT to NSSCRA.

But just because she went home to Suzhou doesn't mean she went back to doing things the same old way. Over the course of her adventures, Zhu met two men whose lives had become intertwined with hers. One was a fellow IRACT driver named Namkha Pasang Chen who became her co-driver in WSRC and her spotter when she returned to stock cars. The other was a Nimban mechanic named Robin Helix who she met at the Nexus Racing Driver Academy and stayed in contact ever since. When Zhu returned to racing, she persuaded Robin to come to Suzhou and help her out in the garage. This proved to be a controversial decision in a couple of ways...

First, many people around IRACT were suspicious of the Nimbans due to their strange Imagination-based technology, and they thought Zhu might be using it to gain an unfair advantage.

Second, Namkha had a crush on Zhu and he saw Robin as a rival suitor. Zhu has done her best to keep the peace so they can all work together, but Namkha has never gotten over his jealousy.

Many IRACT fans who are suspicious about Imagination feel like their suspicions have been confirmed now that Zhu has accepted Nimban government backing. Some have even gone so far as accusing her of being a spy for the Wardship. Other fans have come to Zhu's defense, pointing out she is not the only Sherpalander that has ever accepted foreign backing in NSSCRA.

Zhu herself insists she is only here to win races and promote international friendship.

Anjiao Wang
Hometown: Guiyang

Wang is perhaps the most mysterious of the Sherpalanders in NSSCRA. He does not talk much about his past. He got his start as a tough and gritty street racer in the Guiyang Racing Club -- a club known for its loose relationship with the law. Wang's domestic career in the Sherpa Empire never took off, partly because the Guiyang Racing Club's criminal elements got the whole club excluded from IRACT.

In the last couple of years, Wang has come into a large amount of money, and there has been a lot of speculation about the source of his wealth. It's not as loud as the speculation about Zhu's possible use of Imagination. It's more whispers around the paddocks at IRACT tracks, not so many flaming profanity-laden arguments on twii.tur and conspiracy-mongering WhoTube videos. But the speculation is still there. There may have been some black market activities or good luck at the poker table involved.

Wang has an odd obsession with Kai Qiang, which has been known around race tracks in the Sherpa Empire for several years. Recently, he connected with some like-minded people at Team Tsunopin, and it has done wonders for his self-confidence, his racing career, and his financial stability. Qiang still doesn't love him back, but at least Wang is more comfortable in his own skin now that he has someone he can share his feelings with.

The number of Northwesterosi drivers competing in the Nationstates Stock Car Racing Association just went up infinity percent from last season. What was once zero now became two, with former Multiversal Cup driver Tyler Linde signing with the also returning Beiyang factory team, and AOCAR standout Todd Underhill bypassing the Everlong series and jumping straight to cup with Direwolf Auto Team.

Yes, Direwolf, what was considered by some to be "GFR lite" last season due to them fielding two Yeezies, now gets some homeland representation in the form of Underhill, replacing their supposed savior Sage Caldwell. The ever-popular yet seemingly snake-bitten Caldwell stepped down to the second tier to drive for his mentor Skip Stiller's team.

#99 Ricky Lee

Age: 27
Twii.tur: @SlickRick10000

Crew Chief: Jared Vaughan
Spotter: Jimbo Cornell

Ricky's frequent appearances in fellow driver Ilya Tsunopin's fanfics caused him to grow his fanbase and confidence, but he's hoping his performance would improve as well. The return of Beiyang gave him some extra motivation as well, as he became interested to see how his results would stack up against the team he used to drive for. One noticeable change for him compared to last season was his ditching of his usual blue-streaked hair for a spiky black mohawk, which he explained as follows: "[Shuzhen] Zhu had the streak like I did, but her performance gave her more exposure, and I don't want people to think that I was the one copying her even though I had it first in the league and since my street racer days. Besides, I've been wanting to try something new with my hair for quite some time anyway. Hopefully having less will make me more aerodynamic [chuckles]."

Spotter: Franco Burdell

Norwestie race fans have been clamoring for some local representation last season, and with Sage's departure, their wish became Direwolf's command. Todd is excited and grateful for the opportunity, but he admits he's also a little nervous seeing as he's a guy from a smaller league, in a smaller team, taking on the big boys like Jeremiah Brooke, Kai Qiang and Drake Stevenson, the three he admits he looks the most up to. "Hopefully I don't screw things up in front of them," he says. "I know we're on the same league now, so I'll try my best not to get too star-struck or anything."

Primary Scheme: (All races unless otherwise specified)

Note (OOC): This is just an exhibition race, no points are calculated for it. It's purpose is to provide something to roleplay (like NASCAR's Busch Clash) as well as to discover any input errors into xkoranate that could have been made before the season actually starts.

Pit Road, Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Tundra Falls, Newmanistan
During qualifying for the Exhibition at the Proving Grounds
Until about two or three weeks ago, Ray Harding figured his start of the year was going to be the same as any other. Get ready to start the season in West Hampton, get ready to face the mobs of fans at the 28 races on the HASCAR calendar and maybe try to have a season just as good as the last one was. You see, Ray Harding was the defending HASCAR Challenge Cup winner, and figured he had a great chance to repeat as champion. But then, one morning as he was fishing on his dock by his Lake Eclipse home, Oliver Marlin gave him a call.

“We’ve got sponsorship for a third NSSCRA team,” Oliver told him. “You want to run NSSCRA next year?”

Ray didn’t even give it a thought. His response was an enthusiastic “hell yeah!”

So instead of getting ready to be the big fish in the small pond, he was a small fish in the biggest pond of them all. And Ray realized just how quickly just how big of a deal NSSCRA was as he sat on pit road waiting for his turn to qualify at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds. The media was everywhere. The fans were everywhere. It seemed like the other teams were on a level far beyond anything he had seen in HASCAR – even in HASCAR, one of the top national stock car racing series in the multiverse. To tell the truth, it kind of overwhelmed him.

He looked over to see some of his competitors walking to their cars, and he realized just who he was up against. Sure, there was Drake Stevenson and Chris Holmes, who were having a serious conversation about something, he could see for sure. There was the couple from TJUN-ia – Michael Stefan and Alfonso Mercado – both made the Championship Four last year and Michael won the big one. There was Kai Qiang and Tsering Chu – seen among Hapiloppian fans as having the most devastating right hook in all of international motorsports, and Hapilopper’s favorite Sherpalander, Rinzi Zakhilwal, who came so damned close to winning the championship with Team Blue a year before. There was the crew from Gale Force Racing – Jeremiah Brooke, Stacie Houston and Thea Alvarez. There were the Valentians, and so much more. And then there was Tyson Hoyt and Rosey Jenkins, both of whom spotted Ray and sat down next to him.

“It’s a hell of a circus, Harding,” Tyson said. “Coolest thing in the world. But damn it’s hard to get a leg up on some of these boys.”

“I bet I could get it done,” Roosevelt interjected. “This series? I bet I can win a race this season. Maybe make the Chase. Just you watch.”

Tyson shook his head and scoffed at Roosevelt’s bold prediction.

“First of all, I appreciate your optimism, and I like that kind of attitude,” Tyson said. “But I got my ass kicked last year like I didn’t even think was possible. Like, holy shit. You think you’ve made it? Then you get lapped by some of these guys. Trust me, you want to get it done? You need to work for it. Part of the reason Oliver made so many changes. But big thing, Jenkins?”

“What?” Roosevelt asked.

“Don’t get hostile when things don’t go your way,” Tyson said. “Part of the reason I’m still here was that I recognized things were going to suck last year. There are guys that have been here for years and there’s a reason they have. One reason your predecessor isn’t here anymore. Half the team wanted to kill her by the time Oliver told her they were letting her go. Just remember, guys don’t have to be your enemy out there. It took me way too god damn long for me to realize that. Nobody is coming out here to be your enemy – they just want to win a race too. And your boys want to win too, so be good to them.”

“You think things will go wrong?” Roosevelt asked.

The NSSCRA garage area
Two hours later

Roosevelt could only look at Tyson and Ray and shake his head. Both Tyson and Ray had cracked open a beer outside one of the OMR haulers and were comparing their plans for the next day’s exhibition, plans that pretty much involved working together and maybe making a run for the front if all could go well.

“So what the hell am I supposed to do?” Roosevelt snapped. “Like, what the hell kind of rules do these idiots have, I was faster than a bunch of those guys and I can’t race? What the hell kind of bullshit is this?”

Tyson could only shake his head. A number of crew members from different teams, walking past, gave the same look – the look that suggested that yes, Roosevelt was new to the NSSCRA, and new to the concept of teams having charters.

“Looks like things went wrong,” Tyson said. “Told you it would. I just told you it would. Didn’t want it to, but it did. You’ll get it next time.”

“I mean, do you have any idea how bad this is for my brand?” Roosevelt asked. “I mean, I can’t fail to qualify for an event! I’ve got too many people following me that want to see what I’m doing out on the race track! What the hell am I supposed to do?”

Tyson could feel a headache coming on as Roosevelt continued his whining. He wasn’t sure what was worse at this point – Taylor Henderson raging at her crew or Roosevelt whining incessantly about failing to qualify for a race. He looked over at Ray and both shook their heads.

“Maybe go in your hauler and take about 40,000 god damn selfies of yourself and relax,” Tyson sarcastically responded. “I don’t really have time for this shit.”

And thankfully, at that point, Tyson received a text from Oliver Marlin, who informed him to get Ray Harding and meet him at the Team Blue Center.

“Oh joy of joys,” Tyson said, sort of conflicted. “We’re going to the Team Blue Center.”

“What about?” Ray asked.

“Probably talking about drafting partners,” Tyson said. “Ollie’s saying Marty Lewis wants us to meet with the Team Blue guys, since we all drive Prestons.”

"Babe, wake up, new NSSCRA season just dropped."

"What?"

"New NSSCRA season, we gotta get to Newmanistan, tomorrow we start practice for the Exhibition, remember?"

"Aww, Brooky.... I was just about to pass the Shark for fifth.... can't you hold in your excitement just a little bit longer?"

"You're the one dreaming of races, and I'm the one excited?"

"Okay, fiiine. I'm excited too. There."

"So why don't you get up and come have a nice breakfast of champions with me?"

"My legs don't work.... carry me to the kitchen, Brooky, please?"

[sigh] "The things I do for love."

Gale Force Racing's preparation for the upcoming fourteenth season of the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series is over and done, and all that's left to do now for the St. Kanye-based team is hop on over to Tundra Falls, Newmanistan, where both the non-points Exhibition at the Proving Grounds and the formal season opener, the Tundra Falls 500, will be held, a week apart from each other. Jeremiah Brooke just came off a runner-up finish in the driver point standings and will be looking to have another shot at his second title; his wife Stacie Houston wants to improve on a Round of Twelve exit and a tenth place finish, while third GFR member Thea Alvarez is hoping that her failure to even make it to the playoffs, and for the first time in her career at that, was just a fluke. The team added Pyotr Lavrentiev as an R&D driver; the naturalized Ceroatian captured his first ever Everlong Contenders Series title for GFR's satellite team Skip Stiller Speedworks.

Stacie slept at nine in the evening, but apparently eight hours was not enough for her, judging by the way she kept burying her face in her pillow before her husband resorted to lifting her out of bed and into their combined kitchen/dining room. Jeremiah, on the other hand, stayed up until one in the morning, racing online to sharpen his skills (Drake Stevenson's ban being a hot topic over the voice chat); but for some reason four hours of sleep was enough for him to feel refreshed. He set down his laptop on the counter and started a video chat before starting to fry up some bacon and eggs. Just a couple of minutes later, the screen came to life, the laptop's speakers emitting a shriek that told the couple that their teammate was equally looking forward to driving advertisements around in circles for the next twenty-seven Sundays.

"HIIII GUYYYYSSS!!!" Thea said on the video chat. "Guess who's excited for the next season of NSSCRA! That would be Cocoabo #46 and me! Oh, I got no sleep last night, just thinking of our cars and our friends and the tracks is making my heart pound out of my chest!"

"Oh, alright. Cool." Stacie seemed to have been shaken out of her sleepiness by the younger female GFR driver. "Think it's gonna be a great season ahead?"

"For sure! Hopefully better than the last, especially in my case...." Thea hung her head in shame for a bit, remembering her recent winless and Chase-less campaign. "But that's all behind me now, I wish. Hey, where's the big J?"

Hearing his nickname, Jeremiah, who was at the stove, turned to the laptop. "Over here making breakfast, Thea," he called out. "How about you? Have you eaten yet?"

"Yeah, had some leftover cake from yesterday."

"Cake, huh." was Stacie's reaction. "What's the occasion?"

"Nothing," Thea replied with a mischievous grin on her face. "Just felt like buying a whole cake, and eating half yesterday, and half today, you know?"

"As one does," Jeremiah said as he flipped his fried egg over. "Yup, we've all been there."

"So, I guess I'll be seeing you guys in Kardashia later?" Thea asked, to which the couple both nodded. The plan was for GFR to take them from Bompton to Kardashia by helicopter for some briefing at the GFR headquarters, where Thea and Lav will be joining them. The four will then fly by jet to Tundra Falls; their crew members, cars and equipment have already been there since the start of the week.

Finally Jeremiah was done cooking, and he set the bacon and eggs on a platter on the counter. He turned to his screen once more and gave Thea a "Good luck", after which Stacie followed suit. "Likewise, you guys," came the reply. The video chat ended, and the nice little breakfast of champions started.

"Now Little J, you be a good boy. Mommy and Daddy are gonna be back racing, so tell Grandma and Grandpa to tune the TV on to SKYNET every week," Jeremiah told his and Stacie's son Jericho, now three and a half years old.

"Will you win?" asked the kid.

"Well, we're gonna try, both Mommy and me. If you want us to win, you better be cheering for us as loud as you can, okay?"

"Okay."

"You know which ones we are?" Stacie asked.

"Daddy is the eighteen, and Mommy is the twenty.... uh... twenty..."

"Seven."

"Yeah! Twenty-seven! Twenty-seven!" Jericho ran around the house shouting.

Unlike his three full-time teammates, Lav overslept, but it didn't matter because his apartment was just a short walk away from the GFR headquarters. During the briefing, he can't help but express that he too was excited for the season, for more reasons than one. His R&D Cup schedule meant more chances to duke it out with his best friend and former Motorsports Ceroat teammate Rustam Ilyich Yudin, who was already full-time driving for the Prid-Fleftic UrGa stable. Not only that, his Everlong title made him eligible to be part of the roster for the next edition of iROS, the first from his homeland to do so.

Stacie was disappointed that she was the only one from GFR to not be in the tournament for different motorsports superstars (Thea getting in as the defending iROS titleholder and Jeremiah due to being part of the Multiversal Championship Four). The team offered her the chance to be St. Kanye's hometown driver due to her residence and dual citizenship, but she declined it in order to give an actual Yeezie a chance, offering Glen Reid or Daryl Calhoun (former champs in their respective series) as alternatives.

Fast forward to Friday morning at the track, where not only them but all the other teams as well were preparing to hit the Proving Grounds for the first time in months. There were some new faces here and there, but the familiar ones are everywhere.

The Lumberjack, Centur Tiones.

The masked bandit, none other than Lam Chow-Cheung.

The not-so-small wonder, Clarissa Samantha the robot.

The Man of Mayhem and owner of the most fabulous mustache in all of motorsports, Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal.

And many more.

Lav found his old buddy Rustam and took the time to catch up with him. Stacie had her usual mini reunion with fellow Team Cassadaigua alumni Jenna Logan, Maddie Alexander and Chelsea Taylor, whereas Jeremiah decided to get acquainted with complete newcomers like John Redhill, Todd Underhill, Charles Wayward and Malo Boludo. Thea had just finished chatting with gal pal Maddison Riley-Jones and was about to go back to the shop, when she heard it, those unmistakable five words, echoing in the distance.

"WO AI NI QIANG KAI!"

Like a moth drawn to a flame or a shark (not River Suzgar) to a bloody swimmer, Thea followed the sound to its source. There, standing in the middle of the infield, was her boyfriend, the multi-talented and controversial Ilya Tsunopin. "What? No love for this girl? I missed you, you know?" Thea said as she rushed over to him, as if she didn't crash at his Kardashia mansion at least once a week during the offseason. Ilya opened his mouth to speak, or perhaps let out his battle cry once more, but was cut short when Thea immediately jumped into his arms for a tackle hug.

- Upon announcement of the final rosters for NSSCRA 14, Mayhem immediately asked the internet for nominations for the second edition of Stock Car Studs, with the requirement they be active, full-time Cup drivers (sorry Gil Archer and Sage Caldwell). Kai Qiang, the defending Stud, was mentioned by more than 20% of those who responded, but that was still only good for the second seed behind Ilya Tsunopin.
- Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal was not included in the nominations, due to him already being the brand's poster boy.
- Voting for the opening round will start an hour after the conclusion of the Exhibition at the Proving Grounds (Race 0), and will end an hour before the qualifying sessions of the Goldwyn 500K (Race 2). The brackets were released an hour before Exhibition quals, however.
- The same schedule follows for the quarterfinals (after Race 2 - before Race 4), semifinals (after Race 4 - before Race 6) and finals (after Race 6 - before Race 8).
- The winner receives a year's supply of Mayhem products not just for himself, but for his entire crew, plus two million Coinyes (NS$4 million), and of course bragging rights to be called the Stock Car Stud of Season 14.

UrGa Motorsports Division
Stock Car Department

The 13th season of the NationStates Stock Car Racing Association, or NSSCRA, was also the fourth season in which the Urotovsky-Gatutin Motorsports Division had taken part in the aforementioned competition. It was the first season in which UrGa drove in NSSCRA with only two charters in the Multiversal Cup Series as opposed to the three charters that they once had in previous seasons, and there were those who were sure that having only two drivers as opposed to three was going to negatively affect the team in terms of the owners’ standings. However, going down to two charters might have actually been beneficial for the team in the long run because it allowed the team to focus only on the two drivers that they actually have in the field, and that had the effect of not only allowing Wilma von Cärinthen to make a deep run in the playoffs, it also gave Rustam Yudin his first ever win in the Cup Series. However, change always seems to be a thing for UrGa in NSSCRA as, despite announcing a contract extension just before the Proving Grounds 500 last season despite missing out on making the Championship Four, Wilma would be forced to sit out this season for personal reasons that will be explained later.

This means that Rustam Yudin will be only one of two drivers returning to the red-and-green team for Season 14, and the only one in the Cup Series. The other returning driver is Patricia nic Neill over in the Everlong Contenders Series, whose services were retained by UrGa after she proved to be a capable and reliable driver despite not winning any races in the second tier of the competition. Two new faces will be occupying the other two UrGa garages in their respective series, but to call them first timers would be like not telling the whole truth. NSSCRA audiences will have already seen both of them before, but this will be their first full season competing in both the Cup and Everlong series, respectively. Agata Kosaryova makes her return to international stock car competition after going back down to the Abanhfleft Racing Truck Series (ARTS) last season and applying all of the lessons she learned in NSSCRA to finally pick up the championship that had been eluding her for so long. Meanwhile, in the Everlong Series, young Benjamin Rumlow will be driving alongside Patty nic Neill for the RouBax Racing Enterprises garage. However, Everlong fans will be surprised to see that RouBax no longer holds the charter for the 42 car, which is now held by Tropicorp’s Sampson Milwork. Hopefully there won’t be confusion between Milwork fans and Leo Baxter fans, but just to be sure, RouBax now holds the charter for the 48 car in Everlong and their promotional material has already been adjusted accordingly.

Once again, it’s a season of flux for UrGa in NSSCRA, who never seem to be able to hold down a stable lineup for whatever reason, be it medically related or for more personal reasons or whatever. But the team has already laid down the groundwork in previous seasons of finally becoming a true title contender, and while nobody wants to predict anything given the completely fluid and unpredictable nature of stock car racing in the first place, the future looks bright for Urotovsky-Gatutin. But it remains to be seen if the racing gods agree with this outlook or not. There’s only one way to find out, of course.

THE DRIVERS

#39 - RUSTAM ILYICH "RUSTAM" YUDIN
Series: Multiversal Cup Series
Main Sponsor: Signbridge Industries
Secondary Sponsor: Mazetainment Games
Crew Chief: Oscar Abcede
Spotter: Paxton Ilishevsky
twii.tur: @39YudinRustam
Driving style: Fast and aggressive but mostly clean
Retaliation: Will never hit you intentionally but will defend his position to the death

No one is going to deny that Rustam Yudin has had it rough ever since he made his first start in NSSCRA. He’s already seen his country fall and come back from the ashes, and in the midst of all that he saw his mentor Guillermo Archer’s meteoric rise and equally quick fall from the top level of stock car racing, although surprisingly it wasn’t actually the controversies surrounding Archer that finally put an end to his racing career. That said, Rustam had very big shoes to fill back in Season 13 when he was brought in to replace Gil Archer himself as one of UrGa’s two drivers, and though he had to struggle with having to qualify into races in the first half of the season, he made the most of the chances he got, leading to him finally getting a full charter during the charter reshuffle in the middle of the regular season. Also, Rustam finally won his first ever Cup race, the Guangxi Telecom 400 in Guilin, but it came too late for him to take part in the playoffs. This year though, the objective is to be part of the Chase and either match or even better Wilma von Cärinthen’s run last season.

“Yes, it feels good to have finally won my first race in the NSSCRA Cup Series after many years of waiting, and I fully do not intend to wait another few years to get my second win. I’ve already said it before, and I’ll say it again: I still have the equipment and the team that made me a race winner last season, and we intend to continue doing what we’ve always done in my time here in NSSCRA. And we all want to do more than just that. We want to make the playoffs, we want to make the Championship Four, and we want to win that championship. Is it going to be easy? Of course not. But that’s why I want to do it in the first place.”

Image
#40 - AGATA PAVLOVNA "GASHA" KOSARYOVA
Series: Multiversal Cup Series
Main Sponsor: FCP
Secondary Sponsor: Mang Dolfo's Condiments
Crew Chief: Karolina Kazimirova
Spotter: Galina Ossipenko
twii.tur: @G4shaKosary0
Driving style: Slow and steady wins the race (doesn't apply in real life though)
Retaliation: Not likely

Gasha Kosaryova will be the first one to admit that she did not respond well to the fact that she had lost out on the Everlong Series championship two seasons ago. She will also admit that the reason why she decided to bow out of Everlong for Season 13 and return to ARTS was in order for her to do a little “mental recalibration” and drive around in more familiar settings while she tried to figure out why she had failed to win the title in the first place. In the midst of all this though, Gasha ended up winning the 2033 ARTS Championship, and it’s now fair to say that she has discovered her love and passion for racing once again. And just in time for UrGa too as she was immediately tapped up by the team when Wilma von Cärinthen had to unfortunately sit out Season 14 due to personal problems that would be explained further down the line. Gasha is already a proven race winner in multiple series like ARTS and Everlong, but the leap to the Cup Series is still a big one. Can she keep UrGa’s momentum in NSSCRA going through all of this?

“I’m not going to lie, the stress of constantly traveling between many nations and the actual fight for the title got to me two years ago, and at the time I realized that I actually wasn’t ready yet to be a championship contender, at least not in NSSCRA. It was my decision to walk away from the series and go back to my roots to rediscover myself, and that was exactly what ended up happening to me. Now I know a lot more about myself than I did back then, and though I’m not going to say that I’m going to be competing for the title in the Cup Series now, this time I’m more prepared for the playoff fight. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do this season.”

Image
#66 - PATRICIA "PATTY" NIC NEILL
Series: Everlong Contenders' Series
Main Sponsor: Kamandag Energy Drink
Secondary Sponsor: N/A
Crew Chief: Ollie Cullen
Spotter: Stephanie Palma
twii.tur: @patty_nicneill60
Driving style: Drives like she's still behind the wheel of a truck (a semi-articulated one at that)
Retaliation: If you haven't swapped paint with her, you weren't actually at the same track as her

Patty nic Neill’s introduction to NSSCRA was perhaps as NSSCRA as it could ever get. First of all, she thought that she had finally gotten a decent and stable sponsor in the form of the cryptocurrency provider KryptoKoin, only for that to collapse barely one-third of the way into the season and leave many stakeholders empty-handed. Secondly, Patty had to endure wildly inconsistent results in the Everlong Series as the team couldn’t seem to focus on just their car and issues kept going back to the collapse of KryptoKoin. Eventually, a group of Pridnestrovian oligarchs reached out to Patty and offered to sponsor her for the rest of the season while they attempted to reach out to a certain businessman who was just doing business on the racetrack, but with Ronald Victor now confirmed to be a no-show for Season 14, the oligarchs had also dropped their interest in Patty, leaving the driver from the Island of the Lost scrambling for funding once again. This season, it looks like she’s finally found it in the form of Kamandag Energy Drink, which at least seems to be a more stable source of funding than crypto. Hopefully that stability will also translate into better results out on track.

“I’d rather not talk about what happened in the past. All of that is now behind us, behind me, and I’m only interested in what’s going to happen going forward. At least no one is going to question whether Kamandag can continue staying afloat for a whole year. They might not be well-known outside of Abanhfleft and the rest of the Coalition, but at least no one’s questioning what an energy drink is doing in stock car racing. Because of that, now I can focus on actually driving the car and getting the results that I want to have. This is the season of ‘no more excuses’ for me, not that I really need them in the first place.”

Image
#48 - BENJAMIN LEON "BEN" RUMLOW
Series: Everlong Contenders' Series
Main Sponsor: Pixylight Electric
Secondary Sponsor: TBC
Crew Chief: Samuel Villafort
Spotter: Karl Magruder
twii.tur: @benjamin42rumlow
Driving style: He's young, he's aggressive, he's got a point to prove
Retaliation: See above

Benjamin Rumlow has already appeared once in NSSCRA, and it was in the Cup Series of all places. But that was as an open charter driver for the PTCCU Auto Loans 300 in the Fhulghamous Peninsula, and even from back then, there were already questions about what this young kid was doing trying to mix it with all of these international stock car veterans and champions when he hasn’t even driven a single racing lap in ARTS previously. The answers to those questions seem obvious at first glance: as a product of Leo Baxter’s RouBax Racing Enterprises Drivers’ Academy, it stood to reason that Ben Rumlow was being given a chance to show his skills to the rest of the multiverse by Leo Baxter, the founder of the academy and the owner of the soon-to-be-vacated 42 car in the Everlong Series. However, there is already gossip going around that Leo’s interest in Benjamin driving for him in Everlong is more than just an owner wanting to see one of his proteges doing well. Some have even suggested that Leo has a much more paternal outlook and relationship with Benjamin than one would expect between a team owner and a product of said owner’s academy.

“I am very excited to be joining NSSCRA right now. I may be young, but I already want to show everyone that I’ve got what it takes to ride and compete alongside the best of the best that the multiverse has to offer. Of course, I know that I have to start out a little smaller first, which is why I’m going to the Everlong Series first. I’ve also heard that there are already those saying that I only got here in the first place because of my connections. This is what I’ve got to say to them: connections can only get you so far. You’ve got to have the skills to back it up, and believe me when I say that I’ve got the skills to back it all up.”

DUISDORF MOTORWORKS
Official NSSCRA Entry

The Duisdorf Motorworks Corporation, commonly shortened to either Duisdorf Motorworks or just Duisdorf, is one of Abanhfleft’s oldest and most successful motor companies. Founded by Ixanian immigrant Ottmarr Hartmann, Duisdorf started off as a maker of farming equipment before transitioning to pickup trucks to serve a gap in the market for farms with yields that were too small to justify the purchase of an actual truck. Duisdorf also played an influential part in the birth of Fleftic motorsports, with the winner of the first ever Abanhfleft Racing Truck Series championship winning in a Duisdorf Stetson.

Duisdorf is one of the “Big Three” manufacturers represented in ARTS, the others being Minchev Autos (now owned by Urotovsky-Gatutin of Pridnestrovia) and Bilingshurst Motors of Copper Cuprum. And, after purchasing a charter from UrGa, Duisdorf is now the second manufacturer based in the APOC Coalition to take part in the NationStates Stock Car Racing Association (NSSCRA). They may have gotten off to a rocky start in Season 13 with the loss of their guaranteed charter, meaning that their team had to qualify into the races on merit for at least the first half of the regular season, but their driver defied the odds and punched his ticket to the playoffs with victory in the Race of Sonnel in the Duchy of Sixty-nine-X. Sure, he didn’t make it past the Round of 12 in the Chase, but Duisdorf will be the first ones to say that this is just baby steps, and that the best was still yet to come for the Dussis. The rivalry with Urotovsky-Gatutin and Luxur continues.

#58 - KOSHIRO "KOSHIRO-SAN" KAWAI
Series: Multiversal Cup Series
Main Sponsor: Sarimanok Mayin Airlines
Secondary Sponsor: Soft Jazz Cafe
Crew Chief: Teofisto Jalobillo
Spotter: Tetsuya Suwazono
twii.tur: @KawaiKoshiro_58
Driving style: Hard but fair, although he does have a tendency to stick to certain drivers for far too long
Retaliation: Bump and run is my middle name

Koshiro Kawai (or Koshiro-san to almost everyone else these days) doesn’t need an introduction anymore, but here’s one just for the sake of those who haven’t seen him before. ch happened alongside NSSCRA Season 10), and when Duisdorf made their entry into NSSCRA, he was by far the clear choice to drive their challenger, the Duisdorf Ascension. Expectations may have gotten a bit too big for him and for Duisdorf as a whole in their first season ever competing in NSSCRA, and that played a part in the team losing their charter’s guaranteed status coming into Season 13, but victory in The Race of Sonnel and a good showing in the playoffs meant that come Season 14, Duisdorf finally had enough owner points to put Koshiro-san back into the list of drivers guaranteed to make the races no matter where he ends up in the qualifying standings. It probably helps that there wasn’t any sort of drama involving him last season, but this season, he’s already making waves of his own given what happened between him and a fellow NSSCRA driver last season.

“First of all, it is a complete and total relief that I no longer have to worry about where I qualify because I’m going to race no matter what. And after the performance I put in during the Chase last season, I’m more than confident that I can sustain a title challenge this season. The car feels like it’s the best that it’s ever been since we entered NSSCRA, and I now feel confident driving anywhere, no matter if it’s a superspeedway, a cookie-cutter oval, a road course, or even a dirt track. Duisdorf is here to stay, and so is Koshiro-san. And I may have even bigger news on the horizon, but you’ll have to keep your eyes and ears open for that.”

The Team Blue Center, Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Tundra Falls, Newmanistan
After qualifying for the Exhibition at the Proving Grounds
It’s plenty possible that the best part of the season for Drake Stevenson was the moment he walked into the Team Blue Center for the first time in the new season. Everything felt like it had a new touch to it. In the front room, there was new furniture and new electronics – including a giant, 75-inch television capable of picking up all of Hapilopper’s most popular television stations. Next to it was a full-fledged dining room, complete with tables to enjoy a meal, hold a conference or just tell stories. New this year to the Team Blue Center was a fully-stocked bar with the team’s own bartender, so after races, or after the day’s activity was over, the team could get themselves a few cold ones, along with anyone that was invited.

In the back, there were private offices for Team Blue’s three crew chiefs, driver consultant Frank Bronson and team principal Amanda McAlister, as well as what the team called the “sanctuary room” – a room specifically designed for Rinzi Zakhilwal to conduct his required prayers.

But something felt a little off. Maybe it was Marty Lewis, the longtime head of motorsport operations for Preston Autos, sitting at a chair in the dining area, almost as if he was getting himself ready for a conference. For a few years, Marty had been in charge of Preston Autos’ World Grand Prix Championship program, a program that had seen surprising success with the stock block Preston V6 engine, and had successfully made Rudy Edwards and William Archer household names in the Hapiloppian sporting landscape. But Marty was here for a different reason.

“Glad you’re here, Drake, have a seat!” Marty exclaimed. “We’ve got to have a meeting.”

“About what?” Drake asked.

“Drafting,” Marty said. “Decree from the front office. Tyson Hoyt, Ray Harding and Oliver Marlin are heading over. Preston Autos wants you guys to work together. Are Rinzi and Holmes coming?”

“I beg your pardon?” Drake asked. “Preston wants us to do what?!”

“Work together,” Marty said. “I get it, you guys haven’t seen eye-to-eye, but my boss and his boss want to see you guys work together. Pit together. Draft together. Bid for the win together. It’s as simple as that.”

“That’s a load of crap,” Drake said. “I’m going to step out for right now. I need to be able to digest this. Be back in a minute.”

So Drake stepped out of the Team Blue Center to have a cigarette as Chris Holmes and Rinzi Zakhilwal were coming in. It’s possible the two may have been talking about anything from drafting with each other to getting their kids to play with each other.

“I guess Hoyt and Harding are coming over,” Drake said as he lit his cigarette. “So y’all clear your social plans.”

As Rinzi went in, Chris looked back at Drake with a strange look on his face.

“What?” Chris asked. “Tyson Hoyt? Why?”

“They’re running Prestons this year,” Drake replied. “Apparently this is a corporate requirement. They want us to work together.”

“That’s real great,” Chris sarcastically responded. There had been quite a history between Team Blue and Oliver Marlin Racing, specifically between Drake Stevenson, Chris Holmes and Tyson Hoyt. But that was years before, years before Hoyt had made it to NSSCRA racing, years before Hoyt’s attitude had changed. Even with that change of attitude, though, Drake was still a bit distrustful of Hoyt. Chris had started to open up to him, but there was still a bit of uneasiness.

A few minutes later, as Drake was finishing up his cigarette, Hoyt, Harding and Marlin arrived at the Team Blue Center – something that would have seemed unthinkable a few years before. Drake stared over at the three with a very uneasy look, a look shared by the three as they glanced over.

When the meeting got underway, you could tell who was not familiar with the tensions between the two teams and who was. The silence was particularly awkward for a little while, but once Marty tried to break the ice, it started to get better.

“Look, I get it, y’all have issues,” Marty started. “But if we let these issues bother us, we ain’t going to win a god damn race. We’ve got five guys here – five very capable and very talented guys. I’d say five cars working together can do anything in this series. So let’s cease the bullshit, cease the drama, and let’s work together. I don’t really care who wins. I don’t give a damn which one of you crosses the line first. But I want one of you to be that guy. We want to see a Preston winning on race day. Let’s make it happen.”

Drake nodded his head and looked over at Hoyt, who was looking back at him. The two shook hands, realizing that there was nothing to be gained from rehashing a rivalry from the HASCAR days. The two had to work together.

“So, guess we all get in line, stay in line and help each other out as much as we can,” Drake said. “We don’t have to like each other. We don’t have to exchange holiday cards, we don’t have to name our firstborns for each other, we don’t have to buy each other a cold one. But we can work together.”

Everyone else listened intently.

“Look, I’ll tell y’all a story,” Drake started. “I don’t think it’s too much of a secret that Kai Qiang and I don’t get along with each other. A few weeks after he and Chu came in here looking for Holmes, the two of us started out back in, I think Jebslund. Qiang came over and offered to work together, and guess what? The two of us moved to the front together. I got on his bumper and we tandemed all the way to the front of the field. Both of us finished up front, too. In fact, I think I almost won that race. But my point is, if we put bullshit ahead of business, we’ll end up with bullshit. I’m not here to perpetuate some stupid little feud. I’m here to win races. I think everyone in here is here to win races.”

Drake stood up, scanned the room and looked at all of the faces sitting at the table.

“Tyson, I fucking hated your guts but you’re one of the best damn drivers here and with some luck, you’ll be a championship contender,” Drake continued. “Harding, I don’t know you all that much but you’re a wheelman. You kicked ass last year. We re-hired Holmes a few years ago because he’s one of the most talented race car drivers we’ve seen, and we brought Rinzi in because he has proven time and time again that he’s someone that can run up front at will, and it would have been bullshit if some bit of bad luck in some special series kept him out of this series. And thank God for you, Rinzi, because otherwise we probably would have all gone crazy without having you.”
Drake sat back down and finished his point.

“The point I’m making is that all five of us are here for a reason,” Drake said. “We’re all very capable and very talented drivers, but if we keep these petty feuds going, we’re going to keep treading water. If we keep giving material to that dipshit Derrick Carlisle, all we’re going to be good for is MemeWatch and not something we actually want, which is results. So let’s do work together. Let’s run up front. And let’s win these races.”

The rest of the crew nodded. Marty smiled. He wasn’t figuring the meeting was going to go that well, but it did, and at the very least, it was nice to see that Team Blue and Marlin Racing, at least right now, was on the same page.

When he strolled into the Rocket Motorsports headquarters to sign the piece of paper that stated he was to become a member of the Newmanistan-based stable's Multiversal Cup operation, Daryl Calhoun had a spring in his step and a smile on his face. This is it, his big break, the result of everything he'd busted his ass for.

Sure, Rocket was a team that, despite being based in the same country as the NSSCRA HQ, rarely made headlines and constantly got outmatched by the rest of the field - not exactly the place one would expect one of the champions and top drivers of the Everlong Contenders Series to land. However, Daryl believed that an opportunity's an opportunity, he just had to make the most out of it. He wasn't out to proclaim himself the team's "savior" and immediately bring them success, but if he can at least show the Chads and the Darts and the Prezzies out there that the light blue machines on the track deserve their respect, that would be great indeed.

Luckily for him, the transition from St. Kanye to Newmanistan wasn't all that rough, as the two countries are similar culture-wise. Even his crew chief Liuyong Xu, who was born in Sherpaland, had enough of a grasp of English and a more westernized way of life, given his time as a driver in New Northwesteros and on Daryl's team in the Glorious Free Republic. The rest of the crew was a mix of Yeezies that were brought over from his old team, as well as Newmanistanis that are already working for Rocket. He was able to befriend them quickly, as well as his teammates in Chelsea Taylor (herself a foreigner, hailing from Cassadaigua), Ashley Matthews and part-timer Derek Harwood. One problem Daryl kept encountering though is that whenever he got recognized and asked to sign autographs by someone on the street, he sometimes forgets that his new car number is 5, not 20.
