The first step to your participation is to post a roster. Even if you do not think you will have time to RP, please consider posting a roster as a basic courtesy to everyone else. The roster should contain at minimum:

• Your players. A standard soccer squad is 23 to 26 players, including three goalkeepers.
  
  
• A style modifier, from -5 to +5. This dictates how attacking your team is (-5 being most defensive, +5 most attacking). It will influence goals per game but not affect the overall outcome or margin of victory. You may change this modifier once during the group stage, and once again during the playoffs, by sending a TG to the host at least 1 hour prior to cutoff.

In addition to the above, you may include other relevant information in your roster such as details about your players or coaching staff, uniforms, team history, tactics guide, favorite ice cream, etc.

Once you have posted your roster, you may begin roleplaying. These roleplays may take any form, such as newspaper articles, narratives, or images. Audio/visual roleplays must provide a transcript. Please keep images to a reasonable size.

The format of the tournament will involve all teams being drawn into 6 groups of 4 teams, and playing a single round robin (playing every other team in that group once) at arenas in Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland. The top two teams from each group, plus the four best placed third-placed finishers, will progress to the Round of 16 playoffs, which will be single elimination. Games in the group round may be drawn; games in the playoff round that are tied after 90 minutes will be decided on penalties only with no extra time played.

Welcome to Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland. The United Iron Principality is a medium sized, landlocked nation in Rushmore, known for its picturesque alpine scenery, elaborate pageantry, and abundance of long compound words. From high snow-capped mountains to slightly less high snow-capped church spires, Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland is a land welcoming of tourists and offers sights, sounds, and ski slopes in abundance, from the Imperial Museum rich with cultural treasures looted from oppressed colonial backwaters to the intense underground rave scene in the abandoned warehouse district of the capital city, Uberwienerschnitzelstadt-am-Ruhntuhnkuhn. The country's north and west are dominated by the imposing Schutzenphalian Alps, where World Cup and Olympic qualifying races have taken place, while in the flatter east, the West Ruhntuhnkuhnlander plainlands are the country's breadbasket, rich in golden corn lovingly farmed by toothless serfs. Allow their pitiful mewls for bread and freedom to be drowned out by the lash of the knout as you tuck into a sumptuous dinner of Uberwienerschnitzelstadteruberwienerschnitzel accompanied by a wheat beer or golden hued wine. Castles and stately homes dot the countryside, but despite their reputation for fusty formality, Schutzenphalians are adapting to the modern world, with many nobles turning their estates into tourist ventures with vacation housing, exciting rapid rides on the teeming rivers that run down from the mountains, and hunting of elk, deer, wildfowl, and poachers.

Stadiums are listed below. In general (OOC: and in an effort to mirror the equivalent RL tournament while adapting to the norms of modern NS) each group will play both games on MD1 at the same stadium, and both games on MD2 at a different stadium, with (IC only) the first game in the afterrnoon, the second in the evening (OOC: both games will of course be cut off and scorinated at the same time). On MD3, the teams will play their games at the same time, (obviously) each at a different stadium.

For each group, the first listed stadium will host MD1 and the first listed game on MD3. The second listed stadium will host MD2 and the second listed game on MD3.

Group 1

Hartsteinstadion (26,000)
Located in Adelshafen, a large city in the west of the country and the heart of the national industrial manufacturing base. The home ground of 1. Schutzenfußballsportsligen club VfL Adelsshafen.

Sportzplatz Hamsloh (5,000)
In contrast, the other venue is a small regional ground that is the home of fifth division side SV Walensiedeln Zelthaus. Set in the Zelthaus residential suburb of Adelshafen, the ground features no underpitch heating and seating is only available at the two ends of the ground.

Group 2

Innstrenkstadion (20,000)
The Innstrenkstadion is the regular home ground of Saalstein Freihöring II, the 'B' team of 1. Schutzenfußballsportsligen club Saalstein Freihöring, who do themselves play occasional games here. Located in Freihöring, a medium sized city in the Baden-Zweibruck region with a specialized industrial base of precision manufacturing and noted for its elaborate cathedral.

Oftmont Arena (9,000)
The Oftmont Arena is owned by the Klostertetten municipality, as well as being the homeground of 4th division side TSG Klostertten. A multi-sport facility with an athletics track, it is located in the town of Klostertetten, which is the capital of the Baden-Zweibruck region famed for its natural sulfur springs.

Group 3

Heiner Pfitzner Arena (31,000)
Home of one of the 1. Schutzenfußballsportsligen's top clubs, Lengenbrück Gudenfeld, the Heiner Pfitzner Arena is one of the largest to be hosting games this tournament. Gunenfeld is a small prosperous city located in the south of the country and noted for its historic pharmacological gardens and rather more modern pharmaceutical industry.

Großprinz Maximilian von Schliefenau III Stadion (5,000)
A grand name for a very ungrand stadium. The rickety home ground of fifth division club SV Schwarzenförde has seen better days. Or is about to... rumors abound that a major company is about to buy up the rights of the hitherto irrelevant club in the small regional backwater of Schwarzenförde and seek to vault them into the upper echelons of club football?

Group 4

Olympienstadion Arkangelsplatz (48,000)
Located in the alpine city of Münzenbruck, this is the country's main national sports arena, though as a multi-sport facility used as an athletics ground for half the year it does not have a resident club football team. The national team plays some of its games here.

Steinmeyerstadion Ebreichfurt (15,200)
2.-lige SV Steinmeyer Ebreichfurt play here. Ebreichfurt is a small city but has had an outsized cultural contribution to Schutzenphalian history as a seat of learning as well as providing one of the Elektors.

Group 5

Schwanthaler-Arena (30,000)
The home ground of 1. Schutzenfußballsportsligen club Sankt Margrethe’s is a modest and fairly old stadium, reflecting that this is the only club playing in the less economically developed east, known as West Ruhntuhnkuhnland. Based in the city of Sonrevica, Sankt Margrethe’s is successful far beyond their means. The city is noted for its diverse Christian and Islamic-influenced architecture.

HOZKOJ Arena (6,000)
Home of 3rd division side 1. FC Kisedovo, the HOZKOJ Arena is a typical regional ground with aspirations beyond its modest size. The city of Kisedovo is really more of a large town though by Ruhntuhnkuhnlander standards is on the more prosperous side, with a bustling wine industry and a regular cattle market.

BVL Stadion Schmalbüren (32,067)
The home ground of Lengenbrück Schmalbüren, who play in the 1. Schutzenfußballsportsligen. Schmalbüren's supporters have a rowdy reputation, greeting visitors with flares and intricate derogatory chants, but a calmer atmosphere can be expected for neutral youth football games. Schmalbüren is a southern city noted for its breweries and beer festivals.

Blomzach-Stadion (12,345)
Blomzach is a port city. Its football team (Neunben Blomzach) plays only in the 2.-lige and its stadium isn't of the size you might expect from such a wealthy, strategically important port city, until you remember Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland is landlocked -- so its port city simply sits on a lake looking rather useless.

Under-18s Squad Announced
Can they emulate the last cohorts success?

To date, the squad that made the under-18s Quarter-Finals last time out remain the most accomplished in Elmyian history. Whilst they are no longer the only team to escape the group stage, the under-21s managed to match this feat, they are still the only Elmyian side to have won a knockout game. At the time the tight 1-0 victory in the HiriArena didn't feel too significant, but it still stands alone. Can this group reach the same heights? Recent form would suggest not, but there's reasons to be optimistic.

The first reason to be in good spirits comes in the form of returning faces. Garavakos, Honiton, Pozzo, Kuhl and Benoit return for a second bite of the cherry, and they understand what is required. Kuhl, in particular, was key in that run, playing a big part in midfield. Combined with her starting regularly in the first division, she might well be a key player here.

The second reason is the rising number of players with exposure to league football. Where the last squad was heavy on academy talent, this one contains some street smart players who've put in important shifts in the first and second divisions over the season. In an age group tournament, players like Nanni, Pozzo, Kuhl and Benoit should all stand out as adults, proper leaders who take responsibility.

Finally, Paula Kidd returns as manager. She might've struggled with this squad at the Campeonato Rushmori sub-17, edging eventual finalist Valladares 1-0 the only green shoot in that group stage exit, but she is a shrewd tactician. She has now also had time to feel out this squad and work out some of the kinks, the shift in formation from 3-5-2 to 4-2-3-1 might be evidence of a switch that could get the best out of this squad. Additionally, Marina Kuhl and Ellen Honiton, two key players, were just over the cut off for the previous tournament, and she may be able to make use of them to the benefit of the team.

The one real concern is that Kidd, if she is successful again, might be tempted to take one of the many managerial roles likely to be offered to her. Unless it's for the senior squad, that would be a big loss to the FF and the whole Elmyian national setup.

1. Ian Garavakos (Italia Mosfleet, 18)

Garavakos must feel glad to finally not be third choice. He was for the under-18s out in Gortolekua, and since graduating from the academy at Italia he finds himself not even quite warming the bench there, sat behind Andrea Silver and the excellent under-21s goalkeeper Arjan Sycamore. This might just be his chance to shine, if he plays his cards right he could earn a loan move out to another Division 1 club, with Estdalle rumoured to be keeping an eye on him. Behind him, this is surely the thinnest part of the squad. Ball is an academy product well off the required standard for the first team, and Xanthapoulos comes from a third division side, where he has been heroic at times, but he's barely a professional. If Garavakos was to be injured, it might just make things tricky for Kidd.

There's some real experience in this backline, on that will be playing as a 4 for the first time. Nanni marshalled the tightest defence in Division 2 this season, and supplies some of the blood and guts we expect in our centre-backs. Pozzo adjoins her, he struggled for form in the Rushmori competition, but will hope to be back to his best here, having deputised well for Mario Freschi in the two cup tournaments and a handful of games in the league. The two will be used to playing with a third, so will need to adapt quick to the different system.

At full-back there's an imbalance of talent, on the left Honiton is a player of real quality, who has contributed excellently to Munster's survival this season. Honiton was excellent last time out in Gortolekua, providing fizz down the left and adding width to a side that lacked it. Down the right, however, and the choice is between Fekir, an unpolished academy player, and Papadimitriou, who spent the last season looking significantly older than his 16 years, booting wingers up in the air. Fekir would also add attacking threat, but is lightweight, Papadimitriou might be sent off by less obliging international referees. Perhaps Graves or Alescio could come in down this side? This would lead to a lopsided formation, with the three staying back in possession whilst Honiton bombs on, but these two are adept defenders with a decent short pass. Alescio, in particular, is catching the eye of division 1 clubs, although Villemont hope to hang on to her and push for promotion.

Midfielders

The starting three here can all certainly be trusted to do a job, the question is, will they work together? Marina Kuhl is now an established 1^st division name, but her manic playing style, doing all jobs as much as she could, looked increasingly out of control as AS Catamouge sunk. She is no doubt excellent, but can she be utilised in a more specialised role? Purcell, meanwhile, has looked good at times for Scolastico, but has struggled in some of the bigger games. Some have put it down to age, but also to being a defensively minded player who's been asked to push on more than she's comfortable. A good performance here might force Leila Whelk to reconsider.

Further forward though is one player that has many excited, despite playing in the 3^rd tier. De Angelis is liquid chocolate of a player, he glides across the ground, picks up great positions and plays the most jaw dropping passes. All of this, as well, on pitches as rough as a badger's arse and whilst being booted in the air by men who also work part-time in construction. He's currently contracted to Indipendiente, but as their hopes of promotion were dashed by Meridionale, he might well be in the frame for a move. Having scored 19 and assisted 28 times last season, Chipping Sersbrek and Torbrek in the second tier, and even AS Samita in the first, are thought to be interested.

On the bench, and Moss is the only player you could see slotting into a starting lineup. Where the three starting are players used to covering a lot of ground, and who will need to be disciplined into working together, she is the opposite. For Chipping Sersbrek, she has spent the season in one role. Her role consisted of defending the left channel, man-marking the most dangerous opposition midfielder, and providing curling passes ahead to the forwards. Besides Moss, Colca and Nova are a bit wet behind the ears, and will likely be given sparring run outs.

Likely the squad's most stacked department, there are an embarrassment of riches upfront. All the players drafted in have had serious game time this year, chief among them Mia Benoit. For AS Samita she's second to George Byng upfront, and if often shunted out on the left. Despite this, she still bagged 11 goals last season, in addition to 7 assists, a good return for such a young player. She provides verticality and pace, although she might lack the hold up play sometimes required of such a forward. On either wing she's flanked by two incredibly promising players, Abbatangelo and Ioannidis. Abbatangelo, only 15(!) made a total of 19 appearances for Villemont last season, including 7 starts, managing 9 goals and 2 assists, he's excellent one on one with the full-back and fantastic at scoring from range, or getting in the box to net. Ioannidis, meanwhile, had an excellent season despite Campina's relegation, bagging 8 assists for the worst attack in the league.

On the bench there's some variety. Out of the starting three Benoit and Abbatengelo offer the goal threat, with Ioannidis the one tasked with crossing and link up play. On the bench, Jennings, Eady and Miller provide the contrast. Jennings is much more selfless presence than Abbatengelo, offering more passing than goal scoring threat, she lit up the Western half of the third tier, aiding her team to retain the ball and smother all opposition. Eady, Benoit's clubmate and understudy on the wing, likes to score when he can, usually via bursting into the box for a cut back. Miller, meanwhile, is a forward so unselfish that her work often goes unheralded. Playing for Hellenic SC, her job is primarily to act as the first line of defence, and to bring the excellent Anya Marakakis into play. If the deck must be shuffled, she could work well with the mercurial De Angelis behind her.

IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: For all intents and purposes, this Tumbra that began contesting in WCQ87 is an entirely new nation. They have no recollection of their earlier exploits from WC70-80, because that simply didn't exist for this Tumbra. Any and all similarities to the nation of the similar name can and should be construed as glitches in the Multiverse. You may, however, make muted references to "having done this before" or something. For a detailed explanation of how this came to be, read these RPs.

Ten years ago, Tumbra announced their arrival on the world's sporting stage by winning the Under-18 World Cup. The spine of that team has since gone on to form the spine of the current national team. Et cetera. The story's been told to death by now; Harrison, Kerr et al. are entering the prime of their careers; and Tumbra is still searching for a new crop that will excite in a similar vein. There's also a slight hunger to win the damn thing again; especially since the ones that won the tournament after the Black Egrets, Mertagne, have won another one; and Graentfjall, well, won the World Cup. Still, though, the faith holds; and the U18WC is often seen as a pathway to success.

INFORMATION

After a rogue Cenian FA member threw the Cenian national team forward in time 20 years in a vain attempt to remove archenemy Andrew Arrowsword from international contention, the Cenian football scene plummeted into disarray. The world-leading Terranean League disbanded, as did the Cenian national team itself. Many players continued plying their trade abroad, but a significant number also hung up their boots. Now that the forsaken team has returned, the Cenian FA reluctantly approved a return to World Cup competition. After a relatively successful WC campaign, and some political changes as well, the FA has grown more receptive to broader international competition, including the Campeonatos Rushmori Juveniles and the U-18 World Championships. After winning the last edition of the U-18 championships, Ceni will attempt to be only the second team in U-18 WC history to defend its title after Anglatia.

While Ceni's academies produced many young footballers, given the relative lack of footballing infrastructure in Ceni, many have chosen to pursue other opportunities beyond football. But the current crop of academy-produced footballers is on the cusp of a new era in Cenian football, and Cenian NT manager Luke Longstar will be watching this tournament to refresh the NT in the future.

Despite some resistance from FA director John Asteem, Andrew Arrowsword will take his first managerial job as Ceni enters the U-18 World Championships for the first time. Arrowsword's career is extensive and well-decorated, the highlight being the UICA Champions' Cup in its 66th cycle with Real Azuris. He also won the Harlighet Ligan four times and the Sanford PREMIER League twice, although his best result in international football is only a World Cup quarterfinal. Once touted as a world-class player, Arrowsword lost much of his mojo when his teammates disappeared and international football in Ceni stopped its march forward. During that dry spell, he went on the Immortality Quest in TiSoFah with then-boyfriend Liam Pendryn and will now grace (or annoy or piss off, whatever your persuasion) the sporting realms for all time.

Arrowsword and assistant manager Allison Swan (another long-time Cenian national team stalwart) have opted to play with four defensive players for the first time in modern Cenian footballing history, recognizing the longtime defensive woes faced by a national team with only three defenders but also a number of exciting prospects at Ceni's three major footballing academies. Ceni tends to produce strong "builder" central midfielders along with playmaker attacking midfielders, and this team is no exception. As a result, Ceni usually rushes into the attack, all guns blazing, with a consequent vulnerability to quick counterattacks. Arrowsword and Swan hope that their bulked up defense will somewhat mitigate this trend and get the attack back on track, so to speak.

For scorination purposes, Ceni will play with a +4.777 style modifier.

For some background on Cenian player development: Pinnacle Project is by far the largest and most established football academy in Ceni located on the campus of the University of New Oxford; Apex Academy is a newer (and somewhat more upper-class) outfit located in the upper-class suburban town of Westgreen; Project +90 Ceni is an offshoot of the (now defunct but formerly widespread) player development academy from the Northern Sunrise Islands that focused on international clubs as a target market. It acts more as a network and broker for local teams and academies rather than a more formal club.

This should go without saying, but feel free to contact me if a foreign team is interested in signing any of these players.

Ceni does not usually play rough, but more cerebrally rather than anything else. That being said, Ellex-Mar is somewhat tempestuous, so he's the most likely to pick up a warranted yellow card or red card. Otherwise, the most likely way a Cenian will pick up a caution is arguing with a referee, probably over a very technical or minute section of the Code.

Description: Di Giorgio has an eagle eye and massive leaps that give him an advantadge in one-on-one situations as well as when picking up mid-air fights. He is really tall, standing at 2 meters, 5 centimeters tall.

GK:Noè Trimarco(Age 16)(Odiol Vinceti Primavera)
Description: The list would be incomplete without a goalkeeper from the most defensive team of them all. Trimarco has all the values of an Odiol Vinceti goalkeeper, positioning, reflexes and strength as well as the mental capacity to scream "DEFEND FOR FUCK'S SAKE!" at least 50 times a game.


Defenders:

The defender's position is always kept for players who are speedy, positionally adept and physically strong for their size and usually either have excellent leadership skills, game intelligence or a hot-headedness and most of a time a combination of the three. It is a position that also lacks the respect it deserves in Juven society, but it is one that is necessary in order to make it easier for the goalkeeper and the team as a whole.

CB:Fabien Baillieu(Age 18)(U.S Scudelli Primavera)
Description: Fabien Baillieu is a calm and composed defender, very atypical for a Juven in this position and that is why he will be in charge of keeping the team's defence together. Other than that he is speedy, excellent tackler and even better at positioning himself right so he doesn't have to use his other talents.

CB:Urbà Pujals(Age 17)(U.S Scudelli Primavera)
Description: Pujals has vision and the balls to push really deep on the pitch. To cover up for that he also possesses speed and a keen eye for deep crosses which allow for beautiful and sudden attacks. He might be a typical hot-head however, really similar to Callejon.

CB:Minuzio Garaycoechea(Age 16)(AC Pomena Primavera)
Description: Garaycoechea is brute force personified, while not particularly taller or more massive than the rest of the players, the way he's approaching the game looks more similar to that of a moving wall than a defender trying to delicately take the ball away. For that reason, he might be more prone to fouling, but that is why he is also extremely effective and hard to get past.

CB:Lokadi Izurzu(Age 18)(U.S Remeno Primavera)
Description: There's something beautiful about Izurzu's approach to the game. He might not be speedy, for which he covers up with great gamesense and defensive positioning. He has the most delicate tackles of any defender in the team but his downside is that he's mute and unable to make many callouts.

CB:Liberio Mantini(Age 18)(Herona Calcio Primavera)
Description: Fast, tall, agile but most of all intimidating. Those are the trait that can describe Herona Calcio's crop and Martini more than most in particular.

Midfielders:

A midfielder is always a maestro on the pitch and depending on which side of the midfield they are in, their characteristics change. There's no pure centrocampista in Juvencus, instead players play as offensive-minded CDM's in the middle of the field. Those players usually have vision, exceptional passing or crossing and usually dictate the speed of the attack, the most necessary element of this team's tactics. They also fall back to form a bus when deemed absolutely necessary. In the sides, you have wide midfielders who act as supplementary wingers, players with speed who can provide to the wingers or the forwards when necessary. As such, you get to see fast players with great inward crossing and forward passing.


CDM:Apollinare Quarto(Age 18)(Internazionale Serone Primavera)
Description: Apollinare Quarto is the definition of a perfect space creator in the making. He has an excellent vision, the ability to dictate the game's pace as well as well as ridiculous long balls to show for. He also possesses good upper-body strength which makes him a good supplementary defender whenever in need of one.

CDM:Renata Emmanuelli(Age 17)(U.S Scudelli Primavera)
Description: She is the perfect balance for Quarto in the midfield. While also an amazing space creator and an even better passer, she is also more offensive-minded than her counterpart and is generally a faster player which means she can go out of position on occasion to create the perfect opportunity.

RM:Sabazio Ragone(Age 18)(AC Serone Primavera)
Description: Ragone is a smart, technical player with great dribbling and a knack for making chances out of thin air. Because of said arsenal, the smartest option is to be utilised as a supplementary winger. Aside from that, he is also a masterful free kick taker.

LM:Nora Barrault(Age 16)(Petro Mohammed FC Primavera)
Description: Barrault's strongest suit is her crosses and her beautiful usage of opposite foot, which gives her an unpredictability unmatched by most other players on the team. This danger is owed to her football upbringing taking place in Al Qurija, a place known for the usage of opposite foot on the sides.

CDM:Didier Hennequin(Age 17)(FC Piluzzi Primavera)
Description: Vision, excellent positioning and most of all being composed and versatile. Such versatility makes him a perfect fit for massively rotational setups and with his composure, he might come in handy in either offensive or defensive scenario.

RM:Raymond Brasseur(Age 18)(FC Herone Primavera)
Description: Brasseur is quite dominant in on-on-one's and has a speed very hardly rivaled by any other players on the pitch. Aside from that, he has great setting up ability and is another excellent free kick taker.

LM:Quarto Bevilacqua(Age 18)(FC Tiscan Primavera)
Description: If showboat could be described as a word, Bevilacqua's face would be next to it. While undeniably the most talented dribbler amongst a bunch of excellent dribblers, the fact he is a bit selfish has only earnt him a spot on the bench. Besides that he is also amazing at orchistrating attacks and can provide an assist from nearly every side in the fanciest way possible.

Attackers:

A position held with the utmost respect as it has the most prestige in Juven football. The task to be picked for it is simple, you should know both how to score and how to supply goals. It is a position that has the most competition, as most talented Juven players are up in front and are very known across the multiverse for their prowess in front of the goal. As such, it is a position with a lot of pressure to be in, much like the goalkeeper. Wingers are fast, brilliant technicians who are excellent suppliers and have a confusingly good shooting technique. Strikers on the other, they have a strong finishing touch akin to an unstoppable force on a consistent level.

RF:Joaquim Jorba(Age 17)(U.S Scudelli Primavera)
Description: Cut in, shot on the top left side of the box, the keeper has no chance. Jorba is predictable but also quite unstoppable since he has mastered this technique. His shot has a curve and finesse very few can replicate or even have the chance to stop.

LF:Irrintzi Uruburu(Age 18)(AC Pomena Primavera)
Description: You never know whether he is meant to lob the ball or provide it to his teammates to finish the drill. Uruburu is an extremely scary player to come across against. He is dominant in the air, perfect at converting the volley. With great potential to create set-pieces on his own. He also shines from the penalty spot. He is a complete player at his young age.

CF:Armando Tenuta(Age 17)(Cordoba FC Primavera)
Description: Tenuta's a clinical finisher with a powerful shot and a great positioning. As is typical of a Juven striker, very good in the air with a seriously high jump that is no joke. Also excellent from the penalty spot. Tenuta will be a menace that will be hardly dealt with, if at all.

Description: Yvonne LeBeau is insanely gifted at finding space through the tightest corners to shoot or pass through. It is an ability that turns her into the scariest player on the pitch easily once activated and once figured out.

Team Cassadaigua- RTC World Cup 18 (U18)


The Brattleboro division of RTC would like to remind everyone that RTC has established a fine transportation network within the Brattleboro area and any ticket holder from this competition can use their ticket stubs for a 50% off monthly pass voucher until the end of the year. Coach- Brittany Byers (59)
Byers served as the assistant coach to Stephanie Sweeney before being named the manager of the team prior to World Cup 88. Before that World Cup, she did serve as the manager of a couple Copa Rushmori teams, as well as having that role on various junior teams. Byers had an impressive track record of success prior to the team’s failure to qualify for World Cup 91, though the team rebounded well with a third place effort in Cup of Harmony 83. Due to this, she has full job security right now. CASE tends to be more patient than the majority of top level soccer countries in regards to their management. As a player, the ex-defender played in World Cups 78 and 79, and was the captain of those teams. Also led Brattleboro FC to a national championship during her tenure there, but she no longer manages at the domestic level to focus on the national team. Occasionally will manage junior teams like this one.

Team Personality
The Darmeni team will never argue with the referee. Indeed, if anything needs to be brought to the attention of the referee it will be done by either the Captain or Vice-Captain in a respectful manner (or to the fourth-official by the Manager). With regards to foul/dirty play, the Darmeni team will not provoke, or retaliate against any opposition player. Darmeni's expect each team to keep to itself and deal with its own trouble makers; any opposition player who attempts to prevent a conflict by pushing or pulling a Darmeni away from the scene will be promptly told off, as that is the duty of the Darmeni Captain.

Nonetheless, Darmen will play in a relatively aggressive manner. Tackles will be conducted in a way which ensures the opponent ends up on the ground, but causing injury will be avoided as much as possible. On set pieces, Darmenis will stand their ground and will not be easily pushed around, they will not however engage in hugging. In fact, if any opposing player tries to push past them, it is not uncommon for the Darmeni player to feign resistance before simply stepping aside and watching as the opposing player stumbles past on their way to ground. This occasionally backfires however, as the referee may mistake the incidence as having been a foul in the box.

5th & 9th Under-18 World Champions

Baker Park's Modern Era in soccer can be definitively said to have began not in Valanora at the 42nd DiBradini Cup, nor at the 67th Baptism of Fire in Banija & Qasden, but in Abahnfleft at the 5th Under-18 World Championships.

It was at that tournament that the FAC sent its representative squad that included for the first time both young men and women, playing next to one another in the same starting XI, training side by side daily, competing against the best youth teams in the multiverse together.

Winning that tournament was an added bonus to what was a bold experiment for the governing body, as nothing like it had been tested outside of the composition of local recreational leagues for 5-8 year-olds where, especially at the youngest age level, co-ed teams were the norm. Even before the final whistle sounded in the title match, the experiment had been declared a unquestioned success, and the Commonwealth have never looked back since.

It is considered at the FAC Charter Development Training Complex to be the most important competition behind the World Cup and the AOCAF Cup, evidenced by the trophy case in the lobby where both trophies (SWC 5 & 9) are the centerpiece of the display that features both of its AOCAF Cups and the DiBradini 53 Cup as well as the Cup of Champions from Eagles Cup 13. For the 16th edition in Graintfjall the team for the first time wore proof of that importance on their shirts, as two stars now are placed above the crest for this tournament only (without the two stars that signify the senior team regional titles).

After losing in the final last time around, so many of the players graduated to play club ball elsewhere - meaning that a lot of new faces needed to join this team. Aniston is more of a raw prospect at goal, while Park wins balls in the air, Ataciara and Willow play fundamentally sound ball, and Saburo doesn't mind getting his hands dirty.

McHenry deals with crosses well - both offensively and defensively - while Druppelmandel is that all-around player; Tripp brings the speed, while Félix can shoot from range.

Neither Jean-Baptiste nor Baïe-Verte are Xuen-Zhukov; however, one runs well and the other converts chances well.

This is the new crop. They may not be as prolific as the last one, but it'll be fun to keep track of them nonetheless.

There are some places that never leave the mindscape once someone's been there, either through familiarity or impression. Often, it turns out to be sight or sound that takes you back. These are, of course, the two most visceral senses; touch and taste rarely leave much of an impression of a place as much as visually seeing a place, or hearing something for the first time. One could easily close their eyes and picture the last time they were on holiday. Mountaintops, beaches, et cetera. The sound of an impressive horn of a boat, the whistle of a steam train, the music of the club. But even then, sights meld into one after a while, and sounds drown into the background. A ski worker, upon seeing the mountain they work at for the five hundredth day in a row, is much less likely to be as taken aback by the scenery that they work in as compared to a tourist who is more used to concrete and asphalt. Nor, for example, is a ship-worker likely to be fazed by the booming horn of a ship as it leaves port. Familiarity breeds — well, it's not really appropriate to say contempt, is it? After a while, though, things are noticed less. It's only really the biggest changes that elicit a reaction.

Much less is talked about smell. Sure, we tend to remember good smells — the smell of fresh bacon, fried rice, mown grass, a clean room — but there are some smells, much less present, that stay in the mind for much longer than they want. Urine. Sewage. Sweat. All particularly unpleasant; all particularly prone to leaving a strong impression of it on the body. But even then, those can be tuned out. Not this one, however. Here, the smell was everywhere; sickly sweet, slightly cloying, somewhat stinging as it entered the nose. Georgina Byrne had tried to block that smell out of her nose after the first few times she'd been here. She'd smelled it before, of course; anyone who'd ever interacted with the healthcare system of Tumbra would recognise it. It was the standard brand of antiseptic used throughout the health service. Cheap. Strong. Smelled okay. To most people. If you were to smell it, say, once every few months, it wouldn't stick in your mind. But if you came, day after day, it stayed. You wouldn't stop smelling it even after you left the premises. You'd be smelling it in the cafeteria, the train, wherever. It clung onto you when you went home; it followed you everywhere if you were exposed to it daily. It refused to fade into the background unless you had really been through the system.The antiseptic used in the Tumbran Health Service had almost become sort of a calling card for the organisation; it was something that was recognisably, unmistakably Tumbran. It was the smell of this antiseptic that stayed with Georgina Byrne, wherever she went; be it in the ward of the hospital, walking out and about in the city, and which, she quietly suspected, would be with her when she went back down south.

There were sights here too, of course. The bed that she knew the way to almost instinctively by now was located on Block 16, Floor 7, Ward 73 of the gargantuan Straton General Hospital complex, half of which doubled up as the medical school of the country's biggest university. She recognised the sights of the corridors, the bare-metal interior of the lifts, with posters continually calling for test subjects; the white uniforms of the nurses flitting around from room to room. There were bigger sights, too; not view not just of the complex, but of the city's shining towers itself, looming over the civic district, casting long shadows over where the country was run. There were the real small sights she tried to remember, too. Fresh flowers, brought every few days, put into a slender, porcelain vase, facing the sun. Sage, mainly. Eglantine. Sweetbrier. Once she'd brought bellflowers. She'd removed that particular one at the end of the day, however. Who knew if someone would turn up, coincidentally knew how to read it, and joined the dots?

They served as useful distractions, the flowers. Focusing on them as the sun sauntered through the sky was helpful. Especially since it meant she wouldn't have to look at the boy on the bed. Limp, leg covered in a plaster cast, softly breathing, connected to machines. Bandages everywhere.

And over his left eye.

No, don't focus on that, she told herself as she forced herself to stare at the yarrow she'd brought today to replace the drooping sage. The flowers had become vaguely, nearly clinical, a facsimile — a shoddy one, but still a mirror — of the processes that the nurses would carry out on the boy on the bed. Every few hours or so they'd drop by, take a few vitals, offer a calming smile and leave a cup of water or a biscuit for the messy-haired girl. Every few days, before embarking on her journey to be by the boy's side Georgina would troop down to the flower shop on the first floor, buy a few stalks of the flowers the florist had on offer, then replace the old stalks. Three days, she'd learned, was how long the flowers tended to keep their shine before they began to wilt; three days was how often she had to buy new flowers. She thought flowers would've lasted longer; but then again, they were cheap. And it was the middle of summer. Nurses took care of the patient; she took care of the flowers. Unwittingly, the nurses had started taking care of her, too; there had been several nights in which Georgina, already draped in a blanket, had found herself being gently shaken awake by a nurse with a kind expression on their face, and told that she should probably go home. Not before an offer of hot chocolate and a biscuit, of course.

These were among the few sights and sounds that Georgina long wished would stay with her. The view of Straton, the flowers, the tick-tocking of the clock in the hospital room marking the slow passage of time; but night after night after night, all she could remember was the smell. It stayed with her, almost always; it was as if they cleaned the damn place with the thing. All she could remember, apart from how she'd probably wasted another day of her life waiting for someone to wake up, was the smell. It stayed with her like an unwelcome guest; a spectre, hanging over her shoulder; attacking her when she least expected it. In bed; in the train; when buying food. It came in waves; like it was a ball bouncing randomly around in her head, and occasionally it would hit a specific button that had the exact function of reminding her of everything that had transpired over the last few...somethings. It reminded her of how long she'd spent in that same hospital room, how she'd hoped, fervently, that he'd wake up; how long he'd been asleep, trying not to notice the bandage over his left eye, trying not to remember the note she'd seen on the doctor's clipboard about him not being able to ever —

And she didn't have long left — the football season was starting soon, and she'd have to end her stay in the country's capital eventually. Train tickets to and from Straton were affordable, but they certainly weren't cheap. The world wasn't going to wait for her. Nor were they about to wait for the boy lying on the bed. Even if they did come from the same football club. Even if they were in love with each other, a mad, deep forbidden love that had escalated through the time they'd been in Schutzenphalia; almost rapidly, at a speed even she never expected they would see. All she wanted was for him to wake up, to be okay, to tell him to not get on the coach bringing the team back from Straton-Serrapince International Airport after returning home from the Under-18 World Cup, to tell him that she did indeed love him back, situations be damned, that everything would be alright, that they'd both be able to play for Lakewood United, that they'd grow old together, that they'd win more silverware at home, that they'd knock City off their perch —

Don't think about City, either. Think happy things! Footba-no. Chelsea Clyne's latest single. Mum and Dad. Not Ben. Mum and Dad and Grandma and Granddad. Jame— The arca— That night you spent at Lakewood Promena—

Everything came back to him. The boy, lying in a bed, limp, who'd disappeared, leaving only a shell of his body, and seemingly didn't want to come back; breathing softly; leg in a plaster cast, bandages all over a face, over his left eye. Everything in her life really came back to him. God, where had the dashing, brilliant, acrobatic, commanding goalkeeper gone? The charismatic, brilliant leader, the one who promised he would be there for the team (and, in secret, for her, from the age of twelve) no matter what had, or would, happen or happened; his natural, easygoing smile, his smooth, deep voice; all that had disappeared in one instant in one moment on one rainy afternoon on the outskirts of Straton, when Fate had so cruelly wrested the boy she'd loved with away, and replaced him with...whatever he'd become. Limp. Almost lifeless. No matter how many times the nurses had come, no matter how many times the flowers had been changed for him, he hadn't shown any signs of waking up, healing, nothing. He was a million miles away when she wanted to talk to him most. Georgina didn't know when he would wake up. All she could do was hope.

But she didn't know how much more she could.

About the Team

Team Hopal is back at the RTC Under-18 World Cup, but they're hoping for a different result than what's they've gotten previously. At the last two RTC Under-18 World Cups, Team Hopal has been eliminated in the Round of 16, and in the last U-18 World Championship that Team Hopal participated in before that, Team Hopal was eliminated in the First Round of the Knockouts. Team Hopal is hoping that this will the be year that they get past that first round of the Knockouts. But this is expected to be a difficult feat for the team, as many of their key players, notably former Captain and star Uma Frey have turned 19 since the last tournament and have left the team. This group also includes defenders Ken Harris and Greg Morehavel, two solid defenders, who were staples of the team at the last tournament, with Harris even serving as an Assistant Captain. Last tournament's team was widely regarded as the best in Hopalian history, and many had pined their hopes on the team to be the team to finally get through that first round of the knockouts. But in the Round of 16, their luck drew them against perennial contender and steward of the Under-18 World Cup Baker Park, and they would lose that match. With the departure of those key players, the team of the last tournament is considered to be stronger than this tournament's team. But many players have strengthened their game since the last U-18 World Cup, thanks to the new U-18 National Program spearheaded by Manager John Ashcroft. It was something that Ashcroft had been campaigning for since he took over as Manager from David Stoyers, the first manager of the U-18 and overage teams. A national program for U-18 players just like the one they had for the overage players, with facilities for players to train year-round together, facilities where not just current players of the team could train, but prospective ones too. The idea of a U-18 National Program would finally be granted after Ashcroft served as a Special Assistant to the overage team at the last World Cup Qualifying. It's been a program that has seemingly benefited the U-18 team, and Ashcroft has told Hopalians to look out for the team, saying that the improvement of many players would surprise fans. That roster of players is led up front by Josh Davys, the sole attacker in the Starting 11 and an Assistant Captain of the team. Davys has often been compared to Tommy Sanchez, the sole attacker and Captain of the National Team, a team leader who consistently produces goals for the team. Many see Davys as a potential successor to Sanchez on the main team, but it is widely believed that he'll have a lot of time to grow into that role, and is still very much growing as a player. Will this be his breakthrough year? Behind him are the wingers, there's the Right Winger Halyna Waro, who returns from the last U-18 World Cup. But then replacing Uma Frey as Left Winger is Yelena Shirpnova, a 16 year old phenom who's burst onto the scene, she wasn't even named to the team at the last tournament, but she's made quite the impression on John Ashcroft. Analysts describe her as a potential goal-scoring star who needs to refine her game, particularly on the defensive side, where her real weakness lies. She'll surely be watched closely at this tournament. Behind them are a trio of 18 year old defenders, Garrett Moritz, Justin Thomas, and Harry O'Connor, in what is likely the last U-18 World Cup for at least two of them. Thomas was an Assistant Captain at the last tournament, and is the Captain of the team at this tournament, and Moritz is an Assistant Captain for the team. These three players are relatively experienced, and will likely bring balance to this young upstart team. Now on the defence there are a pair of siblings, the Summerfield siblings, there's 17 year old Mark, who was on the Starting 11 at the last tournament, who is the bigger of the two siblings, and then there's 15 year old Freda, who was on the benches at the last tournament. John Ashcroft is hoping that we'll see a lot chemistry between the two siblings, and even though the situations are quite different, the sibling pair inevitably draw comparisons to the now-famous Frey brothers. While the Freys are Offensive Midfielders and the Summerfields are Defenders, the comparison still comes about, as management hopes that Summerfields will show the extraordinary chemistry that the Freys did at the 11th U-18 World Championship, which was their debut together, and Hopal's first U-18 tournament. They've since both made it onto the National team and have become a scoring sensation there, one can only hope that the Summerfields might show the same chemistry. On the defence with them is 17 year old Pat Dacy, returning from the last tournament and 14 year old Will Fortescue, for whom there is much hope and potential, but who most believe still needs time to develop, especially being so young. 15 year old Oliver Paris is returning as the Goalkeeper for this team, the young goalkeeper made a fine debut at the last tournament, especially considering his age, he is said to have improved his game from the last U-18 World Cup. On the benches fighting it out for the second goalie spot are 16 year old Nina Tudols and 14 year old Winter Badley, two young goalies fighting for their spot in the Hopalian goalie food chain. The Hopalian U-18 team has produced a litany of goalies for Team Hopal: Travis Durant, Joilee Parik, Helen Oburhabel, Nemi Niemi, and now Oliver Paris, Nina Tudols, and Winter Badley. But they've struggled to find their way into a starting position, even as Alex Gargin and Adrian Turcotte have had their troubles in net. Travis Durant is the only one who's found his way into the net at an international tournament, and has shown great promise, but it seems almost as if National Team Manager Tom Villiers is purposely holding them back for being too young. Nonetheless these goalkeepers are looking to show their potential and hopefully one day find their way into that net, and speaking of Adrian Turcotte, he's the Goalkeeping Coach. So these young goalies will learn from someone who has the experience, Turcotte was the one-time star goalkeeper of the National team, but he retired after a string of poor performances, leaving the net for Alex Gargin. He later would become the Goalkeeping Coach for the National Team at the last World Cup Qualifying, but the goalkeepers suffered, and Turcotte left the role. But Former U-18 Goalkeeping Coach Karin Bartos, who has probably been the main contributor to Team Hopal success in early development of goalkeepers became the National Team Goalkeeping Coach, Adrian Turcotte was brought in by John Ashcroft to be the Goalkeeping Coach of the U-18 team. It is widely thought that Turcotte is being groomed for a larger coaching role, and this position is just for him to learn the ropes and cultivate his talent for coaching. The other coaches, the Defensive Coach Paris Boileau and Offensive Coach Brad Hurley are returning from the last tournament. So that's the team, Ashcroft has been keen to say that this isn't a team built for success as the team of the last tournament was, but rather a team that will gain valuable experience. But will this team perhaps pull a surprise, and perhaps even break the curse of the first round?

She also has the ability for long throws using her left hand - which can come in handy to set up the attack. The Young Anomalies will have to make sure to help her out in set pieces, but in the generic flow of the game, they won't be left wanting.

With clean tackles, solid defensive positioning, and occasionally, the needed yellow card, Saburo will be the mood-setter who will try to make things difficult for the other team.

Hardened by multiple years of boxing and jujitsu, she doesn't shy away from contact, either - and she knows how to pick up the pace when needed to turn the flow of the game around. Being 6' 3" in height doesn't hurt, either, as she is able to both clear crosses and be an asset in set pieces on attack. With Ataciara, she is one of the best defensive prospects of this team - and that's why she's a starter.

Summary: How much did Ataciara improve in the last year? The one thing that they do lack is a field general, but that's what Aniston is here for - as well as Park.

On the Young Anomalies, she prefers to use that height on set pieces, but for her club team, she's apt at coming through on the defensive side of things. Basically, if she can use her head, she's golden; she just needs to get better with her feet.

U-18 WORLD CUP ALMOST UNDERWAY: WHAT IS THERE TO EXPECT AS A WHOLE BOTH IN AND OUT THE PITCH?


Former International and All-Youth Coach, Gian Landi in coaching action

Youth football has a big tradition domestically in Juvencus, with teams duking it out in all sorts of competitions but without much traction for the international competitions, with youth national teams players rarely ever getting callups for the senior team. But what is standing out in this point in time is the appointment of former international player and U-21 coach Gian Landi, who happens to be very creative in his approach to the beautiful game. Specifically he has announced that he has changed his approach in two different manners, number 1, his approach to practice, which now resembles more the one followed by the senior team and number 2, the way he teaches players to eloquate themselves in public interviews.

Ok, starting off we have the in-pitch work. Gian Landi implemented some very specialised scouting techniques, applying fast-analysing scouters in all corners of the nation to see the creme de la creme of U-18 players in multiple youth academies. As such, he has picked what could be described as a very strong batch of young players this time around to head to Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland. A harsh approach of the Pomenienze has been observed in practice and with a few AC Pomena players in the mix, the team seems to be showing the fluidity necessary to play it just fine. What is important is his focus towards better communications and callouts on the pitch that seems to be making the team to work better as a unit, with exceptional results.

One could possibly ask: But how could this be?

To that, the answer is very simple. Education at its current state is given a lot of value by most everyone in Juvencus, people have to be fluent in a number of languages, namely Italian, French, English, Drawkian and perhaps their local dialect if they so have one. To learn all of those fast, they have to perfect one so learning and subsequently improving on the rest will come easier. A technique to do this is called the Giappota Technique, which is commonly used in educational institutions but with private institutions having access to more of it and better teaching, which Gian Landi has given his young players. This has significantly improved not just their communication but their eloquence, in a way that is unforeseen even for Juven standards. Normally a Juven would be perfectly articulate in Italian and/or French, perhaps either Drawk or English as well and their local dialect, but with the better implementation of this system, a Juven can sound like an academic or at least formal enough in all of those. So in his thoughts, better language translates to better answers in interviews and those solidify the reputation of a country in the grand stage besides its performance on the pitch.

And what about the predictions?:

With gli attaccantini being dragged in group 3 alongside the grim reapers of Quebec and Shingoryeo, as well as Darmen and Srednjaci, things are looking very exciting and quite possibly very rough ahead. All of those teams have established youth systems that have been running for a longer time than Juvencus' and have brought back significant silverware or at least performances ahead of the U-18 World Cup. With Gian Landi's strategies paying off however, at least in practice, a deep run for gli attaccantini is not unprecedented, if not to be expected.

6 years prior to this tournament, Amzi Akombo on a family vacation

Amzi Akombo was 11 years old, being brought on a business trip with his father. Of course, at 11, he didn't quite understand economics- but his father was a billionaire. Multi-billionaire. Rich beyond wildest belief. The path to the 1% for Josiah Akombo? Like Banijans who found themselves suddenly wealthy- through the oil business. PetroBan, of course, was mostly state-owned. But the anciliary businesses around oil? Well, those were privately owned. He and his four brothers had started a shipping company, that helped build the tankers for PetroBan that would deliver oil to countries all across the multiverse. From places as close by as Farfadillis, to nations as far away as Garifunya- and anywhere in between.

It made them, of course, fabulously wealthy. But Josiah Akombo eventually got bored of the business. "I've always wanted to push buttons, to be a frontier leader- and that's just not what we were doing in the family business." Josiah had told reporters. "So, I pivoted." He sold his shares to the other brothers in the company, and took his wealth to a dangerous area- tech. You could get fabulously wealthy in tech- but of course, you could lose your job just as quickly. So what did he decide to make? The cellular phone. Of course, cell phones were already prevalent in Banija. But they were mainly foreign produced. Generally, most Banijan tech came from either Quebec or Siovanija & Teusland.

How do you penetrate a market that is already saturated in Banija? Of course, be innovative with the operating system. Just simple changes. Focus on battery life. Improving the connectivity between bluetooth headphones and the actual phone. Improving the storage, and most importantly, streaming capabilities of the phone. It was a high-risk move, in a market that many thought was already taken. But it was a move that paid off. Being able to make the phones in Banija were able to help cut down a little bit of the costs. But aggressive marketing, and excellent performance, alongside masterful marketing, were able to ensure that his company, Kiga Phones Inc.(short for Kigaganga, their hometown), was able to explode in country.

And once he went public- billionaire status, attained. He was here in Cardenao, trying to expand the phone company into this market, and having meetings with potential investors, as well as government regulators, for about a week at a time. And even more importantly, trying to supply his phone from this mineral-rich country. But his wife and kid? Vacation time. His Dad left for business meetings. Meaning it was time for the junior Akombo to hit the streets.

"Hey Mom!" Amzi Akombo said? "C'mon, can we play some soccer? Pleaseeeeeee?" He said it in that quite way, that 11 year olds say it in, to convince the Mom to help him out.

"Fine, fine." She told him. "Let's go find you a pickup game." She whipped out her phone, and found the nearest park. She wasn't much of an athlete- she was a model. An actual supermodel(well, former). Married to a billionaire- not a bad life. She loved her kid, though. She kicked it around with him until she saw some kids come around for a kickabout, some local kids. She saw one of the parents.

"Hey!" She called over to a parent. "Can my kid play too?" The parent nodded.

Amzi ran into the game, and started playing. He was a naturally gifted talent- and, with the resources of his father, was absolutely able to get the best possible coaches available. His decision-making was elite, his first touch, for an 11 year old, was absolutely out of this world. He was able to school most kids his age, and there was the expectation that he'd be able to do the same to this random group of kids that they found at the park. But there was another kid out there, who was basically his equal- a rare in pickup games for his age. Also stood out- duking kids, even put Amzi straight on his butt, like he was on skates.

And look at those cellies- celebrating like he was an adult. After about half an hour, the parents called time, and told their kids to come to the sideline and get water. The parents generally gave Amzi an orange slice as well, and he was talking it up with the star Cardenoan. Then, Amzi grabbed the kid's hand and ran up to his Mom.

"How are you Amzi!" She said, embracing her son. "And who is your friend over here?"

"His name is Marcel, Mommy!" He told her. "The same name as our neighbor."

"Of course, son, get back out there!" She grinned. She always loved watching her son play- he had so much fun every time he took the pitch. And he'd run back out there, as she sat in her chair, and whipped out a book. Why not read as well? What a day it would be.

RTC U18 World Cup- Banija returns as Pam Scott 'demands' a focus on youth development

KISEDEVO- The Vijana Kadongo Kamu are back in action, and ready to compete. "I'm glad to see the U18s lining it up, once again." Pam Scott, the senior NT manager, told reporters. "It's going to give a number of people a chance to shine. Players, coaches, even assistants, etc... My ability to simply watch the development and actions of these players out here, and evaluate them, is going to be unparalleled. We need to be doing more tournaments like this- that's how players are able to get these opportunities. Does Banija get legends like Demba Kinteh, or even Wanda Kouyate, without youth tournaments? We need to be back, doing either this or the DBC once a cycle."

And she's the manager, right? With two AOCAF Finals(including a title) and a World Cup Final on her resume, she's gained a ton of power within the RBSA. National-team related- whatever she says, goes. She says publicly that the RBSA needs to get back into these youth tournaments? And they are back. Bending to her will as she chases the only accolade in international football that she has yet to achieve- a World Cup trophy. She led the scouting effort, and she put together a roster of 23 for first-time manager, Madu Okparra.

"I am honored that she chose me to be the manager for the U18 squad." Madu Okparra, the former World Cup winner himself, and former IFCF Champions League winner with Raynor City United, told reporters. "Obviously, we're here for a main purpose- we want to win the tournament. You don't go to a tournament like this and not start dreaming. But the path is brutal. This group- it's a group of death. Baker Park is probably better than anyone at developing the youth, and we play them. Cassadaigua is a two-time world champion at the senior level. And Qasden can not only ball out, but they're our regional rivals. We could pick up any amount of points in this group- including zero."

There will be players to watch here. The first, is dual-national striker, Jônn Wérséô. The 18 year old Farf/Banijan striker was born to refugees in Busukuma, from Farfadillis. Born and raised here- but obviously, with Farf blood flowing through his veins. "There is no Farf teams at these tournaments usually, so him coming to the youth setup doesn't show us if he's really leaning one way or the other." Said an analyst to reporters. "But still- it's an opportunity to show him what it's like to put on the colors."

Another to watch is Amzi Akombo. "He's the son of a billionaire- but he's got all the talent in the world." Said an analyst. "Managers distrust those from wealthy families for being lazy, but he's never showed that. Hard worker, extremely talented- but shit talker. He LOVES to dance and showboat, which may get him in trouble on the international level." Others? You've got a 16 year old starting in the central midfield, in the S-FPL, by the name of Kizza Lumansi. And you've got the 18 year old CB, Otem Ssema, just graduated from the academy of Herzegovina City.

It'll be an interesting tournament, for sure. We open against Qasden. "Getting off to a strong start is essential." Madu Okparra told reporters. "This group is too good, too strong, to want to be trying to recover from an opening day loss. Qasden's overflowing with talent, though. It'll be a 50/50 type of ballgame- but I suspect whoever gets out of this group, as a whole, has a decent chance of making quite a run here."

[Commonwealth of Baker Park]

The Commonwealth of Baker Park Under 18 National Team return to the RTC U18 World Cup 18 in hopes of maintaining—and expanding upon—their current streak of three consecutive quarterfinal appearances. Nine returnees will play their final tournament ahead of their 19th birthday while eight other players will get their first experience of representing the nation against opposition from outside Baker Park.

The group stage couldn't have been drawn luckier if the FAC had won the host rights itself, as the youth sides of Cassadaigua's Fillies, Banija's Kadongo Kamu and Qasden's Turkish Vans—three of the Commonwealth's top 7 most played rivals at senior level—will be part of battle to decide which two will proceed to the knockout stage.

The family reunion of sorts will take place at a pair of venues in Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland, in the cities of Sonrevica and Kisedovo, with the BP squad based in the former. The Dagans will be first up, as the nations will meet in the group stage for the third time in the U18WC, Baker Park winning 5-1 in Taeshan in SWC 10 and 4-2 in Graintfjell two tournaments ago. There will be a personal tie-in to the match as a pair of starters for the Fillies ply their trade in Baker Park, defender Tara Gaudette and midfielder Chrissy Engle.

Banija have won the only meeting at this level, but it was an important fixture in their history, in the quarterfinals of SWC 8 in Toakmeau, Free Republics, a 3-1 penalty shootout after the sides drew 2-2 over 120 minutes; the Vijana Kadongo Kamu captured the title two matches later, their only title to date. They will be the opponent on the final group stage matchday with possibly much on the line for both sides.

Qasden and the Junior Bees have never met, which probably suits the Mini-Vans just fine but the nation has seen a stream of youth talent make the move to the Commonwealth to make their professional debuts, and this could be a stepping stone towards a similar path for the players on this roster; the teams will face off in the second match of the group stage in Kisedovo.

Majorir Crawitz's loyalty will be tested by Rachel Spitfires Sickle Creek star Majorir Crawitz is set to become the most expensive attacking midfielder this season if he accepts a Cassaholm Confidential $400,000 salary offer after his contract expires at the end of the season. This follows several clubs offering the most expensive salary to the Khantari player. Cassaholm Confidential, Meldrum Fall, all from Stevencousin, and local rival Inverster are among the clubs that have shown an interest in Crawitz's services after his contract expires. Sickle Creek manager Lyman Hawkings thinks that Crawitz is the best-attacking player. The 30-year-old is understood to be asking for a $200,000 -a-week pay rise as a new condition for his continued stay at Sickle Creek. Crawitz, who currently earns $130,000 a week from Sickle Creek, is reported to be the highest-paid attacking midfielder. It is understood that Crawitz's representative will open the offer at the Club World Cup match in February. Cassaholm Confidential manager Mark Pissone also expressed his interest in Crawitz. He said, the player has a good performance and is an important attacking asset in the match. Crawitz, however, insists that he will not make a hasty decision. "This will be the most important decision of my professional career. Crawitz has been Hawkings's first-choice player since he joined Sickle Creek in December. Meanwhile, Sickle Creek has dismissed claims they have received an offer from Cassaholm Confidential to sell Majorir Crawitz as the Super League club is reportedly trying to keep hold of the Khantari international, the Shepington Herald reported on Wednesday. The 30-year-old has been linked with a move to Cassaholm Confidential in the last two summer transfer windows. The player has expressed his desire to play in Khantari and hopes to spend more time with his family in Khantari.
