There's nothing Wardens love more than the sight of purging raider regions in the morning, it's like second Christmas! I know we've threatened for two years to go raider, but we couldn't help ourselves tonight swinging through to collect on Indonesia and The Muslim Brotherhood as properties of Islamic States

Getting their founder swept for multi-ing was not very Maintain-A-Founder-Sign-A-Treaty of them but good thing we're here to take care of that! Can't have these Raider Unity regions running around willy nilly being ideologically inconsistent. Plus, a healthy dose of purging should take all the raider worries away. It's almost like...you get griefed...if you grief others??? Crazy, I know right. Anyway, I think I need sleep because I originally typed Maintain-A-Treaty-Sign-A-Founder which would've been funny

Each report, from the weathered parchment stamped with the wax seal of the Order to the bleach white loose leaf printed with the eagle of the Grand Republic, details the discovery and gathering of a mineral deposit of over eighteen-thousand tons.

A deposit of salt.

Salt, once the prized possession of empires, used to be worth its weight in gold. Though those times have long since passed, Libcord Incorporated’ salt-powered energy generators have allowed for the mineral to once again be viewed as a valuable commodity.

And so a company of 59 miners from the Guilds, led by Leaguer Miners, eagerly set off with pickaxes in hand and ready dig. The day turned into night, and for all their toiling, the miners had yet to fully extract the salt. In desperation, a lone miner pulled out their small Chant of Light booklet and began to recite the verses of Benedictions.

Hearing the pious miner rejuvenated the other 58, as if they were blessed by the Maker themselves. Each swing of the pickaxe seemed stronger than before, and faster too. Ton by ton, more and more salt was extracted. As the sun began to rise, the very last chunk of salt from Islamic States was pulled out and loaded on a caravan headed back home.

Truly, an epic amount of salt was mined on this day. Worth noting that the number of updaters brought on our jump exceeds that of any occupation stage at update that I recall seeing from raider unity. So for those questioning the health of the faction, we are doing quite well.

Kanjuura and Ecalpa on our end also completed their first operation in the IS raid, lovely seeing 4 new defenders out of a good update of raider-bashing. Hopefully last night didn't set their expectations for every other update too high, lol

I feel bad for today's defenders, I really do. They do without the true satisfactions of NS, griefing regions and banning natives. Like the stereotype of the hyper-ascetic monk they deny themselves all pleasure, joy, and happiness for as long as they can and (again similarly to our monk) many frame this in explicitly moralistic terms, even citing false scripture in their efforts.

And yet, unlike the true ascetic they find ways around these self-imposed restrictions to grant themselves the glimmer of happiness. Selecting regions which they feel violate their moral code to be destroyed in an ecstacy of region-greifing, so that they may give in to the basest of their desires without the guilt of broken vows.

And so they can neither reach joyous hedonism or transcendent asceticism. Never filled with pleasure and yet not detached enough from it to stop relentlessly seeking it out. Trapped down in the valley between openly seeking pleasure and moving beyond it they wail and gnash their teeth, longing for the day of enlightenment to come when what they believe to be immoral will pass away and they may ascend to the mountaintops and rest under vines and fig trees.

And yet, like Tantalus, they find that the sought-for respite never comes. Behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto their sorrow.
