Football Federation of Huayramarca

Official Roster for the 54th Di Bradini Cup

About Huayramarcan Grassroots Football: Huayramarca has been known for being one of the few countries that hasn’t invested (until now) in forming footballers for its future, for having little to no infrastructure to promote players. Aside from the lucky ones that decide to test themselves in the already existing Liga 1-2-3 teams, without having a formal approach to tactics or real discipline, that jump to the top teams and try to fight for a position in the Senior National Team, there’s need to forge a new identity, as there’s growing awareness among fans and FA directors that Huayramarca will need, soon, a generational shift.

Things had to change and that’s where Omar Caicedo and Rodolfo Zelaya appeared suggesting, to the Huayramarcan FA, a new approach to prepare the talent across the regions of this vast nation and help them transition into the Senior NT, as its obvious that we won’t have Bryan Tello, Ian Mamani, Gabriel Sayritupac, Kevin Quispe or Juan Mamani for our entire lifetimes. In 1986, just about to begin the World Cup 91, the project was created and had plans to find a new manager for the Grassroots National Teams, one that would be a connoisseur of the methods utilised by Omar and Rodolfo, as that would be important to make a seamless transition through the entire National Team ecosystem proposed.

Many potential candidates took part from a course where the basics of the to-be-instituted-style were taught and refined among them, pretty much like a zero-to-hero course for many of them that would feature a capstone project, where they would not only showcase their abilities and what they learned, also challenged their understanding of the proposed tactics. After three months, a new name popped up, and that was Marcos Álvarez for the U-18 side and Luis Díaz for the U-21 one, both will be working together to gather feedback and improve their tactics towards the process required to let the players ready for the expected National Team jump.

The project took more time to start and fly, it was the year of 1987 when the reality seemed to begin a slow change, as the Huayramarcan Football Association put the program to work, asking the manager of this U-18 side, Marcos Álvarez, to create a roadmap to put his team into work and in rhythm for tournaments across the Multiverse to showcase them. After some work, he decided to take the ideas of Omar Caicedo when it comes to tactics, search for footballers across the whole nation and then sign Huayramarca for the prestigious RTC U-18 World Cup as a beginning for this team, one that will provide the players a good experimentation field to let their tactic framework function properly, against some of the top squads across the Multiverse, then the project will continue with the Di Bradini Cup and so on, as the players gather valuable experience for the future.

From those trials and scouting done, a group of 27 players have appeared for the U-18 and U-21 projects, but age constraints have forced the pool to increase its size to 39 players, as the FA has asked to send 26 players as a minimum to each tournament. This new pool features some interesting footballers, from fast ones, tough and technical, dual nationals who switched allegiance to Huayramarca and people from the very last corner of the nation, making sure to gather a good representation from everybody, be it Huayramarcans or people who are searching for a new opportunity in this country.

After the dismissal of Omar Caicedo and Rodolfo Zelaya, the project took a drastic change with the help of Blâás Âgínsôgnó, a Rulandese manager that in one of the weirdest movements possible, decided to take a new challenge and asked the Huayamarcan FA to be the manager of the entire NT structure, while Omar Caicedo covered his position in Dí Maozökê. Âgínsôgnó has decided to speed-up the process for new players in the Huayramarcan National Team, by teaching them the principles needed for them to break up into the ranks of the Condors in a future, as the team might need new blood sooner than later.

How We Play Football?

At simple glance, things doesn't seem that had changed a lot after Omar Caicedo left the national team, and so his ideals for the future prospects. Huayramarca has decided to brand her own style of football embracing offensiveness, courage and grit under the label of fulbo total, in an attempt to take Huayramarca back to her roots of football, just making some enhancements that will make this system competitive enough to be a competitive force.

Fulbo is a common mispelling for fútbol in the Huayramarcan dialect of Spanish, also refered as the way that people grow in the streets, neighbourhoods and all places of Huayramarca use to play the sport. In the traditional sense, Huayramarcan football tends to be physical, both in strength, and intensity that is required to perform in an OK level. From the random dusty pitches in the highlands to the state-of-the-art premises that some stadiums boast across the nation, players are asked to never give up, to give everything they can in order to achieve victory; to the point of exploit loopholes in the football rules for their advantage.

Centrebacks are used to be relatively strong, as they will also try to outpace their rivals in physical strength, displaying rudeness and being prone to perform some harsh tackling when needed; there's no fear to get carded, it's a matter of avoiding the rival to score against their team. People in the villages often use an idiom to refer to what they accept as a good centreback "Either the ball or the player, but not both." Another main treat of them is that they tend to provoke or annoy rivals by trash-talking, trying to disconnect them from the match and make their own duties easier. Often, they will play near the midfield in order to force the rest of the team to press the rivals, limiting the playing area to the rival's half.

Sidebacks are one of the most important links of the team, as they don't restrict themselves to defend, they can often liberate pressure from the centrebacks by pushing the ball forward, be it through individuality or large crosses to the midfielder or the wingers. They use to have a nice speed and great spamina, enough to perform box-to-box routines frequently; they also link up with wingers when attacking through the sides, often engaging in a quick pass succession that leads to crossing the ball to the forward or a second-striker awaiting outside the area. Speed is useful for them, as they must be able to retreat and guarantee defensive numeric superiority when the rival tries to do a counter attack.

Midfielders: Although there are two clear roles here, being the destroyer and the playmaker, it can also be said that the role is pretty much indistinctive from who does it, as every one in this zone of the pitch is required to switch roles according to the scenario they might be facing at any moment; that's why this position is the most flexible under the big scheme of things in fulbo. As the name say, the destroyer is in charge to destroy any linking from the midfielders to the attackers when the Condors are protecting themselves from a counter, or avoid connections between defenders and the midfielders while the team is attacking, they can either tackle with clinical finesse or just aim to the rival's ankle, it all depends on how good they consider their rival, the better they are, the harsher will the destroyers act against those players.

The playmakers, in the other hand, can either be completely egocentrical or collaborative, that will depend of the very own personal treats of whoever takes the role in a very specific circumstance. Âgínsôgnó has given freedoms to the players in order to attack freely going in solos if they see a chance through, deliver the ball to a player that might be able to continue the idea of attacking or, simply, hold the ball until an opening appears or switching to destroyer and letting another player to find a gap that they might not notice.

Attackers: Tradition mandates two wingers and a spearhead, a forward that cautiously awaits a pass to slot it home. The wingers are instructed to serve the attacker or go through the defence and force a chance for themselves to score, similar to the defenders but not with the leeway to change sides, no, only instructions to provide enough tools for their decision-making process and promote more diverse ideas rather than focusing in a way to break through brute force. Âgínsôgnó also asks the attackers to bethe first line of defence of the National Team when the rivals commence a play, always through pincer plays or support from the creative midfielder; sometimes, the attackers can drop some metres to help in ball recovery efforts, then to start an attack with the help of the creative attacker.

The new Huayramarcan National Team, under the ideals of Âgínsôgnó, tries to makre sure that the ball can be held in the half of the rival team, as much as possible under Huayramarcan control, trying to create chances to break through the defence and score, or simply move the ball and cause fatigue on their rival as they try to chase the ball in vain. This style requires a lot of concentration from the players, stamina and need to collaborate and decide in a short time span, as dynamism is the name of the game, to never run out of ideas and outsmart the rival.

Without further ado, the starting XI and substitutes are presented in the following tables:

Álvarez took one thing seriously while searching players for the team, he wanted the fastest ones possible when it comes to decision-making processes and physical speed, something this team really exploits in the wings from Cochachi and Caicedo who sometimes go up and help to attacking duties, then they return as fast as possible. They are always supported by a quite strong defensive core in the shape of Adame and Arteaga, who tend to play strong and borderline when it comes to the rules, both possess a good aerial game, but Arteaga can be a bit loose while marking rivals.

In the midfield, Mamani and Huanca often switch roles, as they can protect the playmaker and brain of the team Cedeño, or help him to distribute the game to the wings with Matsabanda and Mendoza who are lethal with speeds and have different specialties, as Matsabanda can be good while getting into the area and dribbling players to seek a chance for himself, or Mendoza who is a specialist with crossing passes to the attackers. Sometimes, the midfield might rely on the defenders to create chances, then pass the ball to Cedeño who might also try a shot from mid-range, something he’s good at. If we assess weaknesses of the team, Huanca tends to be delicate while marking due to his proneness to injuries, Cedeño might lose temper if provoked and Mamani could go harsh when tackling.

The wingers have the sole mission of feeding Alszeghy with passes, Lucien might always take every chance to score a goal, as he is pretty much always in the right spot to push the ball into the net, an opportunist like the legendary Bryan Tello, he could be marked heavily but he will always find the way to shoot and score. Alszeghy has good skills with set-pieces and mid-range shoots, although not good when it comes to penalty kicks and, lastly, he’s regular with the aerial game, might always help.

The Kits: Huayramarca’s social mindset is to aim for local consumption in the long term, hence the HFF decided to hire “eva Sportswear” to manufacture the kits for the national team. “eva” decided to take the ball out of the park with some unique designs for Huayramarca, reflecting the national identity and adding up some motivational phrases on them for mere sake of marketing. Those kits are based on the geography of this nation, from the coast to the highlands and jungle to promote a sense of national unity, especially on a stage that the national team might try to do something decent in their first World Cup Qualifiers venture.

As backgrounds, you might notice some decent spots that Huayramarca has to offer, such as Uyuni's salt lake with some astrophotography in it, Huayna Picchu's monument to Inti (Sun), Lake Quilotoa (an old volcano near the city of Tulcán), Puerto Odriozola at the San Carlos Islands, the Ojos del Salado Volcano with a lavender field and then, the second flag of the Plurinational Republic, the Wiphala, a representation of the old Incaic glory of Huayramarca and banner of the Aymara and Quechua nationalities.

“eva” decided to depict elements that provide some sense of pride and national identification for Huayramarcans, no matter where they from are, those are universal icons of what Huayramarca is and its roots. Strong roots, strong legacy, and strong people forging their future with pride and hope.

ROSTER FOR DI BRADINI CUP 54

ImageImage

INFORMATION

After a rogue Cenian FA member threw the Cenian national team forward in time 20 years in a vain attempt to remove archenemy Andrew Arrowsword from international contention, the Cenian football scene plummeted into disarray. The world-leading Terranean League disbanded, as did the Cenian national team itself. Many players continued plying their trade abroad, but a significant number also hung up their boots. Now that the forsaken team has returned, the Cenian FA reluctantly approved a return to World Cup competition. After a relatively successful WC campaign, and some political changes as well, the FA has grown more receptive to broader international competition, including the Campeonatos Rushmori Juveniles and now the U-18 World Championships. Ceni will send a U-21 team to the Di Bradini Cup under Arrowsword's leadership, largely mirroring the U-21 team that it sent to the Mihaly Invitational Cup in Cardenao.

While Ceni's academies produced many young footballers, given the relative lack of footballing infrastructure in Ceni, many have chosen to pursue other opportunities beyond football. But the current crop of academy-produced footballers is on the cusp of a new era in Cenian football, and Cenian NT manager Luke Longstar will be watching this tournament and the upcoming Di Bradini Cup for prospects to refresh the NT in the future.

Manager: Image Andrew Arrowsword
Assistant Manager: Image Allison Swan

Despite some resistance from FA director John Asteem, Andrew Arrowsword will take his first managerial job as Ceni enters the U-18 World Championships for the first time. Arrowsword's career is extensive and well-decorated, the highlight being the UICA Champions' Cup in its 66th cycle with Real Azuris. He also won the Harlighet Ligan four times and the Sanford PREMIER League twice, although his best result in international football is only a World Cup quarterfinal. Once touted as a world-class player, Arrowsword lost much of his mojo when his teammates disappeared and international football in Ceni stopped its march forward. During that dry spell, he went on the Immortality Quest in TiSoFah with then-boyfriend Liam Pendryn and will now grace (or annoy or piss off, whatever your persuasion) the sporting realms for all time.

Arrowsword and assistant manager Allison Swan (another long-time Cenian national team stalwart) have opted to play with four defensive players for the first time in modern Cenian footballing history, recognizing the longtime defensive woes faced by a national team with only three defenders but also a number of exciting prospects at Ceni's three major footballing academies. Ceni tends to produce strong "builder" central midfielders along with playmaker attacking midfielders, and this team is no exception. As a result, Ceni usually rushes into the attack, all guns blazing, with a consequent vulnerability to quick counterattacks. Arrowsword and Swan hope that their bulked up defense will somewhat mitigate this trend and get the attack back on track, so to speak.

For scorination purposes, Ceni will play with a +3.777 style modifier.

For some background on Cenian player development: Pinnacle Project is by far the largest and most established football academy in Ceni located on the campus of the University of New Oxford; Apex Academy is a newer (and somewhat more upper-class) outfit located in the upper-class suburban town of Westgreen; Project +90 Ceni is an offshoot of the (now defunct but formerly widespread) player development academy from the Northern Sunrise Islands that focused on international clubs as a target market. It acts more as a network and broker for local teams and academies rather than a more formal club.

Ceni does not usually play rough, but more cerebrally rather than anything else. That being said, Ellex-Mar is somewhat tempestuous, so he's the most likely to pick up a warranted yellow card or red card. Otherwise, the most likely way a Cenian will pick up a caution is arguing with a referee, probably over a very technical or minute section of the Code.

Ceni is a one-time champion and two-time finalist in the Di Bradini Cup.

With four World Cup participations, including one Round of 16 appearance, Tikariot has been part of the rising Rushmorean sub-region of Pavola. After a whole slew of first knock-out-stage exits, Copa Rushmori 42 turned into what the whole nation hopes to be the turning point in their fates when they beat their neighbours and rivals of Græntfjall in the final for their first victory in a big tournament. Now after many years, the Snowy Owlets are returning to the DBC to showcase the next generation of stars.

Image
The fans of the Snowy Owls/Owlets also deserve particular mention. Not only are they renowned for their chants, but they are also bringing the Thunder Clap (Click here for example) to the stadium, something that the players join in as a pre-game ritual that has left an impression on the opponents and opposing fans more than once (OOC: similar to the Haka of the New Zealand All Blacks). The players will form a triangle near the kick-off circle and lift their arms, which the fans do as well. Then a lone drum will start to signal the rhythm and both players and fans alike will move in unison, each clap accompanied by a loud cry, the claps (and cries) speeding up, creating an overwhelming sense of impending doom.

Image
Pierica Dantario - 41 Image
Having spent several years on the coaching staff of senior national team coach Brian McAllister, Dantario has the Tikariotian 4-3-3 system down pat with all its flexibility of the wingbacks pushing forward or the wingers dropping back to create a number advantage.

RP permissions:

You may choose my lineup. By default, those numbered 1-11 will start except that Erin will start instead of Hámundur, and Arnar instead of Sarína.

You may refer to my players by surname or forename. Græntfjaller names are patronymic (or rarely matronymic); the only exceptions are Kamdyr (a nomadic people who claim independence from the state; Erin is a Kamdyr). Foreign naming traditions are, sometimes rather clumsily, subjugated to Græntfjaller norms, thus Samuel and Hermione, who are of Asian Archipelagic descent, are actually siblings, but their family name (Hui) is never used, and instead they generally go by either the forced patronymic "Báisson" after their father, or by the nicknames Cháng and Xiǎo. -sson names are male, -sdóttir names female, and Græntfjall does not acknowledge sex changes.

You may choose my goal scorers, assign yellow cards (up to 4 per game), assign red cards (no more than 1 per game without asking permission) and assign injuries (I will determine severity/consequences). You may generally RP and godmode my players and events, but please don't use photographs and say they're my players, or have my players responsible for violence.

I am generally open to any RP collaboration, just DM/TG.

IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: For all intents and purposes, this Tumbra that began contesting in WCQ87 is an entirely new nation. They have no recollection of their earlier exploits from WC70-80, because that simply didn't exist for this Tumbra. Any and all similarities to the nation of the similar name can and should be construed as glitches in the Multiverse. You may, however, make muted references to "having done this before" or something. For a detailed explanation of how this came to be, read these RPs.

Bolded players denote starters, but pre-match XIs will be posted before every cutoff. If none are posted, feel free to pick and choose from this side, though do keep in mind a player with the number 14 is more likely to be picked than a player with the number 20.

Tumbra will name eleven starters and fifteen names on the bench, with up to five substitutes. In the unlikely event that they make it to extra time, a sixth substitute will be taken. Tumbra will not play for penalties and will try as often as possible to finish a match in ninety or a hundred and twenty minutes.

After six or so years without international football of any sort, the Di Bradini Cup, alongside the Campionato Esportiva, mark the first time Sylestone will have representatives in a major football tournament since the beginning of the hiatus. After her club’s excellent finish in the Potty League, Cleorough Under-21 manager Elliot Humphreys (42) has put up his hand to further enhance his resume by taking a group of Sylestone’s best 23 players aged 21 and under to Valanora for the tournament. A man who prefers to use a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 formation, Humphreys’ style is more on the defensive side, hence the STYLE MODIFIER OF -3. However, when goals are necessary, he can transform to a 4-2-4 by bringing the wingers up into the offence line; similarly, he can bring a centre midfielder back to play 5-3-2 or even 5-4-1 when holding onto slender leads at the death.

Here is the squad he has elected for the tournament. Notice the four Cleorough players, more than any other club…

While each and every player in this squad has thoroughly deserved their place here, the Young Sentients lack true standout players - those who are knocking right on the door for national selection for the upcoming World Cup Qualifying. However, for many, strong performances here will bring them ever closer to their debuts and considering the depth of the squad, almost everyone is essentially guaranteed to receive their opportunity. Similar to the national team tactics, Humphreys likes to sit back and attack on the counter, willing to give up possession in favour of surprising opposition teams and providing the best opportunity to score. Similar to the philosophy of national manager Mojmir Anac, Humphreys prefers to win games 1-0 rather than 4-3 or 3-2, with a defensive masterclass far more optimal than being shaky at the back.

Some of the better players in the squad include the likes of Alana Faucett - who was sold to Zenit Attawapiskat from Pesfield Trees for 3.25 million, making her one of the most expensive players to ever leave the shores of Sylestone. Fellow centre back Jake Blackall is reportedly just as good, although considering he’s never played a game above the Flush League, how he will go against quality opposition remains to be seen. Central midfielder Jack Lawson’s main role will be to control the game - something he has done so well for Avondale City in the past, making him one of the first players Humphreys penned down on his sheet of paper. Left midfielder Jack Ryland is a player in fine form, breaking through with Chamberley City last season with regular starts before transferring to Colbrook City in Tumbra. Meanwhile, Licentian-based Alexandra Arnold and Marbury FC man James Barclay managed to fight off seriously stiff competition to secure the RM role, while Charlotte Eastwood leads the forward line, being another with regular minutes for Avondale City. However, the competition up front is incredibly stiff, with Nicholas Holder and Flynn Scratchley both sealing big money moves in the off-season to clubs that will undoubtedly improve their game tenfold over the next few years.

It’s a team with a lot of quality, but a team who have very rarely played together. How will they fare in the biggest youth tournament of all?

Manager
Kasper Volheim
Age: 47
The experience of dealing with youth teams, even if it was only as just an assistant manager, paid off quite well for Volheim as he is now a key fixture in the national team program and likely to stay so long as the success at both the youth level and the senior level sustains itself. Shifting his ability to communicate with the young players under his command from the assistant position to the manager position will be a huge question, but he will look to capitalize on his experience with the senior team and his time as Faeron's assistant to try and take the Young Marauders forward.

Assistant Manager
Thor Møller
Age: 39
A former national team striker who has been working the last two years as the reserve coach for Mar Sara FC. The appointment is likely only a single cycle post for the young manager, as he looks to use the under twenty-one team as a launch point for his own managerial career. His experience as a player makes it easy for him to translate what is needed for the players to get ready for their games and keep the squad focused on the tasks on hand.

Keepers
GK: Nacho Domínguez, age 21, Club Atlético Bexar
GK: Nikolai Simonsen, age 18, Baskita FC Image
GK: Ines Meyer, age 21, Soldarian FC (F)
This tournament brings about quite a few changes. Changes in the backroom staff, the majority of the team that was in the last tournament. That scramble and the emergence of some unexpected prospects in the domestic league, means that someone like Nacho Domínguez gets on the team and the number one shirt with a handful of appearances with the Spurs in the Premiership and Silver Cup. The backup him will be Nikolai Simonsen who only allowed seventeen goals during the youth league season last season for Baskita in the league phase en route to them winning their league. That sort of exceptional keeping is definitely worth keeping an eye on, which was the same for Meyer with Soldarian but she has been usurped by the others in the time since last tournament but holds on to the third spot in the team.

Defenders
CB: Maria Ibrahim, age 19, Raynor City United (F)
CB: Asael Alcalá, age 18, Club Atlético Bexar
CB: Annett Krüger, age 21, Mar Sara FC (F)
L/CB: Thorsten Baier, age 21, Mar Sara FC
LB: Zemira Montoya, age 21, Club Atlético Bexar (F)
RB: Luca Espinosa, age 21, Club Atlético Bexar
R/CB: Anna Skogli, age 18, Club Stein-los Image (F)
It is generally against common Vanorian nature to want to be a defender but it is a role that someone has to fill and these brave souls are the ones who are those who do so well enough to merit a call up. Bexar's excellent form in the Premiership means that three of their youth defenders do get called up, but it is likely only Asael Alcalá will see playing time, unless there is a switch to a four at the back system forthcoming. Skogli will likely start despite her tender age after being part of a defensive unit that gave up under twenty goals in a league campaign during last season's youth league with Club Stein-los youth team. Starting alongside her will be Baier and Krüger, who both have seen playing time in the Premiership with Mar Sara, who have one of the better defenses in the normally quite offensive league. Ibrahim also should probably see some playing time with the sheet raw talent the young defender seems to have.

Midfielders
LW/ST: Linus Sollien, age 18, Raynor City United
AML: Phillipp Kohl, age 21, Mar Sara FC
MC: Maximilian Aamodt, age 18, Char Sara FC
D/MC: Ylva Stjern, age 18, Osarese Marcadia Image (F)
MC: Amín Muñoz Casárez, age 17, FC Longview
MC: Aristides Luján, age 18, Club Atlético Bexar
MC: Carissa Mercado, age 21, FC Capri (F)
AMLC/ST: Caspian Garberg, age 18, Eastal Lunar Image
AMC/R: Iracema Tórrez, age 18, Damogran Image (F)
AMR/ST: Lina Gården, age 18, Raynor City United (F)
RW: Ingrid Fjeld, age 18, Juavi FC (F)
This is where it gets weird and exposes a dire shortage of midfielders coming through the talent pools across the nation, as many players who have little to no player time have had to be included in the team. It may be a case where players on the national team play well enough to start getting playing time with their domestic clubs. Two players that are sure starters though are Phillipp Kohl and Carissa Mercado, the only players from the last tournament and playing regularly with their domestic team. Kohl was a starter three years ago when the tournament last took place and has only improved in his time since then, which could make him the star of this team. Expect a lot of rotation as the manager is likely going to mix and match players trying to figure out the right combination to get the team moving forward.

Forwards
ST: Carmen Helland, age 17, Raynor City United (F)
ST: Imre Haaland, age 18, Juavi FC
ST: Marcus Karlsen, age 21, Hondo FC
ST: Andreas Tande, age 18, Baskita FC Image
ST: Aurora Nilsen, age 18, Colonial Sile Image (F)
The youth shortage is pronounced by though most of these players are relatively untested, there is a player among the striking options that is already turning heads. That is Imre Haaland who tore up the youth team and even had some time with the senior team in Juavi last season, their best youth prospect in many years. The player is a clear notch above everyone not only at Juavi but also the best out and out striker of the bunch called up to the team, with the ability to do a little bit of everything. It will be no big surprise if Haaland is able to put in a good tournament to get snatched up by a bigger club than Juavi in the next season or two. Marcus Karlsen gets the second striker spot, having played a bit with Hondo and in that more supportive role, which he will likely be playing with the youth team. Helland with United is probably the best option off the bench, though if the side needs a pace merchant, Nilsen is also quite the suitable option to bring against tiring defenses.

Savojar Roster for DBC 54

TEAM

STAFF

Coach: Ludvig Rensberg
Ages: 56
Rensberg puts his emphasis on defence, and is an important integration figure for the team as a whole, serving as a sort of team dad and a former assistant to the team under Alexey Jotanov. His wife, women’s football legend Maria Svensson, often accompanies the team as an inofficial staff member and has close relations with multiple players, acting as mental support for them and to take care of personal issues in the squad. Rensberg has a reputation as a flexible coach who will tailor his play to the squad he has available, but prefers quick vertical play and a direct drive to the goal.

Coaching Team: Ingmar Söderby, Knut Sörensen, Lasse Tjoer, Valtteri Andersson
Ages: 54, 45, 53, 60 // Special functions: Head Scout, Technical coach, condition trainer, GK Coach

Ingmar Söderby has been working in the system of Libertas Bergheim for a while, where he has found gems such as Knud Vingegaard and Jakub Jaranski. He changed over to the SFFB to work at Högvald, and was requested to be moved into the chief scouting position at the SFFB by Victoria Maersk when she took over the helm at the Northlights. He takes a particular role in selecting the U-21 team.
Knut Sörensen has been co-coaching with Maersk at Rotor. Having been signed away from the SFFB after being a technical coach at the National Football Academy at Högvald, he now returned to the national federation alongside his friend and head coach Maersk, and assists in the youth national teams with technique.
Lasse Tjoer is the physical coach and condition trainer, and has previously worked for multiple SFS A teams. He places a lot of emphasis on discipline, but gives the players a large amount of freedom to tune their practice regime to their own tastes as long as they stick to the targets. He is quite popular in the team, and a good motivator.
Andersson was a long-term goalkeeper for Energie Thorsborg and got directly transferred into the club's youth department when he retired at age 33. Following some good work with the club's youth department, he got trained as a GK coach and worked with the first team and the U21 of Energie for a while before being brought onto the squad of the NT early on. He still works with Energie on the side and is reputed to be very good at developing a goalkeeper's weaknesses.

KEY PLAYERS

This is undeniably a defensively strong team first and foremost. Jonas Hilde has been modelled into the successor of Mikhail Trischuk at Libertas, and trained with the South Newlandian; now he is the starter of this team and played a relevant role in their rise in the standings. Ahead of him, Thea Leifsen and Kenneth Röysveit were both playing together at SK Cuprum before the latter has moved to his second home nation Nephara to play for Treason, the only one in the team to be employed abroad. Both are strongholds in defence, and Röysveit in particular is very hard to get past and can organise a defence reasonably well. The fullback positions lack a real standout player, but 19 year old Tom Krogstrup is a supertalent from Partisan Sjoedrhavn - this tournament may come a little too early for the leftback though. In the centre, Alexander Ilikin is the second star player of this side. A defensive midfielder used to playing a sweeper-like role at CASK Thorsborg, he is already a two-times SFS A champion and has started in a Champions League final (which he ended up winning, of course). He will be paired with the shuttling, tireless Roman Sadianov, a regular starter for Lok Jarnstad. Valtteri Silverberg has been touted as the follower of Morten Poulsen at Partisan before he decided to move away to Torpedo, and the dynamic offensive midfielder who can play as a winger in a pinch has shown why he earned his praise. Here, he is tasked with linking up with Lok’s sub striker Henrik Elvers or CASK substitute Lasse Holtby.

General Playing Style: The former national goalkeeper has been involved in the Under-18 leagues, and was the leader behind the reform of the Under-18 leagues. With the reduction in league size, the clubs was generally more symmetrical, and therefore, the team is less focused on attacking as compared to before. Focusing on passing and possession, the team tends to switch between defensive mode and counterattacking strategy rather easily.
Formations: 4-4-2

Note: Please refer to preview before match to know the predicted lineup for the day. If one is not posted, you may utilise the last posted lineup, and make any enforced changes as you like. (due to injuries, suspensions, etc.) Members in bold are likely to be regular starters.

International Records (U21 only)
DBC48: QF. 4 wins, 1 draw, 2 loss, 28 GF, 18 GA.
DBC53: Group Stage. 0 wins, 1 draw, 2 loss, 1 GF, 4GA.

Fans
Poafmersian fans are crazy about football, and their loud cheers ring about in the stadiums they visit. They are very willing to disturb the peace in the area to celebrate their win after matches, so matches are best held in the afternoon or early evenings. Apart from that, they do pick up after themselves, and prevent causing much trouble apart from celebrating. You can be assured, however, that they would be travelling around to support their team, so do reserve half the spots in stadiums for them because they would pack it to the brim.

Cabo Azure National U21 Football Team "Las Maçaricitas"

Starting XI
# Magalhães
Matos Ventura
D'Cruz
Veloso
Gontijo
Loueiro Ferraz
Delgado Jose

The Gaffer

Goalkeepers
GK Aleixo Dias 21 y/o Natal
A tall, lanky shotstopper who needs to get better with the ball at his feet. Recently transferred to Natal from his boyhood Club Safari.

GK Otávio Andrade 21 y/o Portelo

Defenders
CB Tomás Delgado 19 y/o FC Deskala (AHR)
Tall, tough centerback who has yet to grow into his body. Signed by FC Deskala on a free from Baleeiros in the most recent transfer window.

CB Afonso Jose 19 y/o Villa del Sol
Converted from DM when he made the transition to senior play, Afonso sees the field and distributes well, but lacks finesse in one-on-one situations. Currently starting for relegated Villa del Sol with a new transfer rumor every week.

LB Te Loureiro 18 y/o Hunvardehm Port (AHR)
Pacey, maurading leftback in the Azurean mold. One of two signed by Athearan clubs this off-season.

RB Lo Ferraz 19 y/o Eivora Athletic FC (TKT)
Has pace and skill offensively that have led to comparisons with Amilcar Branco, but that comparison isn't quite right. More comfortable lobbing passes into the box than beating defenders and scoring himself. Signed by Eivora Athletic, a promising up-and-comer in the TPL.

FB Santiago Cortez 20 y/o Perolas
CB Tomás Canha 19 y/o Club Safari

Midfielders
DM Miguel Gontijo 18 y/o Kingston FC (QUE)
A holding mid with the playstyle that's either hard-nosed or straight-up dirty depending on whether you're a fan or not. Signed by Kingston FC out of Quebec, one of a few young Azureans playing in the QPL.

RM Lucas Veloso 19 y/o Vrord SC (KTM)
A fast and crafty winger, but lacks a certain work ethic, especially on defense.

AM Salvador D'Cruz 19 y/o Vantanoch FC (TKT)
Fast, aggressive, and creative, but maybe a little too prone to holding onto the ball. Signed by Vantanoch FC based on potential.

MF Vicente Ribas 19 y/o Portelo
MF Gui Vicenzo 19 y/o Sao Vicente

Forwards
ST Tiago Ventura 18 y/o Sielhafen 1.FC (CNR)
A pure scoring threat, good in the box but creatively bankrupt elsewhere.

ST Felipe Magalhães 18 y/o Vantanoch FC (TKT)
Tikariotian-born, the first foreign-born Azurean player to be called up. A pacey, athletic striker with a knack for set pieces. Plays for Vantanoch in his native Tikariot alongside d'Cruz.

FW Mateas Matos 19 y/o Cabecedas
FW Gonçalo Brito 19 y/o Villa Delgado
FW Diogo Perez 19 y/o Fantoches

Postby Elmyia » Sat Jan 07, 2023 8:47 am

The elder coach of Epvalle had sat peacefully in his cottage for many years now. Through choice he remained apart from local community, not even a trip to the pub for a tipple. His simple diet of tea, toast, smoked kippers and sprouts had kept him going for the last few years. He only came out occassionally to give sage advice to local children having a kick about, and as a consequence the local children had become virtuosos of the game. But he desired no further involvement. Through years of solitude and quiet meditation he had finally achieved peace. Even with regards to sprout related gastric distress (although flax seeds had also played their part there).

Suddenly a knocking on his door. He pushed his feet into his slippers and looked into the garden, but there were no stray footballs. He shuffled to the door and swung it open. In the doorway stood Eirini Knight, goalkeeper and captain of Elmyia's under 21 squad.

"What brings you to this door my child?"

She shuffled nervously "I have travelled a great way to seek your help. We need your guidance, it is time for you to return."

"But my child, I have taken a vow. To never interfere, to live here in peace. It is surely not my help you seek."

"But we are so lost, so poor in our play. We are taking on the best in the world and we surely have no hope without you. You are truly our only hope left."

"So you're doomed to fail you say?"

"We surely are, we need something quickly."

"As they say, Rome was not built in a day..." he paused, he could feel his zen and humility slipping "but I wasn't on that particular job. Of course I shall accompany you. However, I have conditions."

"Of course, anything."

"We must only pick players who are strong in spirit and ready to learn. We must play in accordance with zen principals, never rushed, never hurried. You will learn to change the things you can, and not concern yourself with what you cannot."

"Anything sir, we're all on board."

"Oh, and one more thing."

"What?"

"You all need a haircut, these youngsters look bleedin' ridiculous."

The elder coach followed Eirini into her shonky old hatchback and made his way to the airport. Once again, he would be coaching a full squad.

Starting XI

1. GK - Eirini Knight: 20 - Mosfleet Albion
2. RB - Jane Beresford: 20 - Scolastico
3. CB - Antonio Silva: 18 - AS Samita
4. CB - Pierre Jardine: 21 - Italia Mosfleet
5. LB - Andrew Awfield: 20 - Mosfleet Albion
6. CM - Aaron McLoughlin: 20 - Mosfleet Albion
8. CM - Nico Spalding: 20 - Scolastico
7. RW - Kostas Rossi: 21 - Italia Mosfleet
9. CF - Gina Whittingham: 20 - Scolastico
10. CF/AM - Sam Depel: 21 - Italia Mosfleet
11. LW - Lauretta Hightower: 21 - AS Catamouge

Reserves

12. GK - Arjan Sycamore: 18 - Italia Mosfleet
13. RB - Anastasia Kastrinakis: 19 - Sablegaard
14. LB - Jane Albrook: 18 - Sablegaard
15. CB - Peter Bracknell: 20 - Mosfleet Albion
16. LW - Gaspare Rotolo: 20 - Italia Mosfleet
17. RW - Stephanie Watson: 19 - AS Samita
18. CM - Will Cork: 21 - Diepfleet
19. AM - Anya Marakakis: 18 - Hellenic Sports Club
20. CF - William Nicholas: 21 - Mosfleet Albion
21. CM - Warren Neil: 19 - Diepfleet
22. CB - Nevio Faulkner: 21 - Diepfleet
23. GK - Mario Belotti: 20 - FC Campina

Elmyia have a decent squad with some obvious holes. Up front, Whittingham has a lot of experience from the under-18s World Cup, and has experience leading the line for Scolastico in the league as well, and she is well complimented by the players around her. Rossi has been knocking on the door of starting for the senior side and for Italia, but he makes do with starting here, whilst Depel and Hightower have been exciting in their run-outs for their clubs.

Further back and the issues start to arise. Spalding is the best player for his position, and yet is a weak link, watch McLoughlin or Will Cork try and cover for his deficencies. Further back and the full-backs are excellent, positively minded, players who will contribute a lot in overlapping as well as in defence, but Jardine and Silva lack some of the technical qualities you'd expect of modern centre-backs. They will have to compensate for this by winning their battles against the strikers.

Elmyian fans are tepid on the main national side and remain unlikely to attend here in any great numbers. Those that do are likely to be polite and wildly pessimistic. It is hard to say how the manager might want them to play, having been out of the game for about 30 years, and rumoured dead for about the last 20. However, in previous roles he has set his side up in a 4-4-2/4-5-1 shape, playing passing football and making good use of counter attacks.

TACTICAL INFORMATION
Mytanija will be playing in an assymetric formation at this tournament, with few good options at right-back leading Adem Fejzic to play three central defenders in the back four instead of using the inexperienced 16-year old Danijel Sporcic. Out of possession the back four will drop back into a regular shape, a narrow four spread across the width of the Mytanija penalty area. In possession Miha Slomsek will be freed-up to get forward down the left-flank and the three central defenders will all shift across to form a back three. This provides the base for the 3-2-5 shape that Mytanija will play in when they have the ball. Ajdin Mujezinovic and Ado Simic will form the midfield two. Miha Slomsek will provide the width on the left-wing, allowing Tadej Roskar to move inside next to Lacina Issoumou. Muharem Hajdarpasic will operate in the right half-space between the opposition left-sided centre-back and left-back; and versatile winger / striker Demir Udovic will hold the width on the right-flank.

When Mytanija lose possession the team will press in a 4-4-2 shape, the back four will drop back as aforementioned. Tadej Roskar will drop back into a left-sided midfield position, with Demir Udovic doing the same thing on the right-side of midfield. Ajdin Mujezinovic and Ado Simic will drop into central midfield positions, whilst Lacina Issoumou and Muharem Hajdarpasic will press as a front two.

TEAM ROLES
Captaincy: Muharem Hajdarpasic will wear the captain's armband. Nnamdi Lusamba is vice-captain.
Penalties: Lacina Issoumou is the main penalty taker. Muharem Hajdarpasic, Nnamdi Lusamba, Ajdin Mujezinovic and Miha Slomsek are most likely to step-up next.
Corners: Muharem Hajdarpasic and Ajdin Mujezinovic will rotate taking corners.
Short free kicks: Hajdarpasic will take pretty much all short-range free-kicks.
Long free kicks: Miha Slomsek will take most long free-kicks, aiming them towards the penalty area to try to win flick-ons / heading opportunities.

Huge thanks to ediraf, the Official Sportswear Apparel Partner of the Mytanar national team.

NOTES:
• Adem Fejzic landed on his feet after losing his job as manager of Mytanija's largest club Atletik Thessia. The 67 year old jumped straight into the manager's seat with the under-21 national team and did reasonably well at the first time of asking, taking the side to the quarter finals of the 49th Di Bradini Cup. His second attempt at the DBC went a stage further, getting to the semi-final before being knocked out and then beating Tumbra 5-4 in the third place play-off. It is hoped that he might be able to win Mytanija a second DBC this time. Fejzic usually prefers a 4-3-1-2 formation but the under-21s will be playing an assymetric 4-3-3 which is closer to what the senior side currently use at the moment, that doesn't mean that they won't change during the tournament with tactical flexibility being pretty much mandated by the FSM. Fejzic is seen as somebody who can help to instil this into the under-21 squad and ease the process for these players to make the jump to the senior national side eventually.

• Mytanars are renowned for being passionate and therefore will not be afraid of confrontation if they feel they're on the end of a particularly rough tackle. At the same time Mytanars are not afraid of gamesmanship and may perform some questionable tackles of their own, along with tactical fouls to prevent the opponent from gaining momentum. Furthermore, diving, crowding referees and even intentional handballs (OOC: so Maradona's Hand of God and Suarez for Uruguay versus Ghana, that sort of stuff), to influence the game are not beyond Mytanar players. They will argue that winning is the most important thing and will do anything they can to achieve victory. Some might call it dirty, Mytanars don't, that won't stop them complaining when things go against them naturally.

• Mytanar fans are well-known for being hooligans, causing problems wherever they go and being prone to violence. They also make outstanding choreographies for their domestic sides and occasionally the national team (if they aren't fighting each other), so pyrotechnics, flags and lots of noise and alcohol are common place. Corteos (organised marches from a specific place to the stadium), are also common, these can lead to areas being shutdown as the sheer numbers of fans walking along roads block traffic and can lead to issues as police attempt to marshal supporters too. Given the ongoing political situation in Mytanija, whether ultra groups are able to put aside differences regarding politics, ethnicity etc for the national side is a pertinent question and the answer to it may change even from game to game.

Chromatik U-21 Squad
The Junior Anomalies

Staff
Manager: Claude Pare-Achel (ZWZ), 62
Assistant Manager: Mikhail Dushov, 59
Physio: Anna-Maria Myers, 45
Formation: 3-4-3
Style Modifier: +1
U-21 Record: 29-15-20

Being one of the best collegiate managers, Claude Pare-Achel of Zwangzug remains as the U-21 Manager for Chromatika, with the CFF hoping that his success in the CCFA can lead to the Young Anomalies returning to place fourth last time around - losing to Tumbra and Valanora. He'll have the best of the CCFA - though the CFF have recently decreed that only players without a senior cap can play at the U-21 level. What will this limitation do?

The Roster
Goalkeepers
GK 1. Jill Swanson, 19, Univeristy of Myana | 6 ft 8 in
GK 12. Christopher Silverman, 18, Felswyr State University | 6 ft 5 in Quebecois/Chromatik Dual National
GK 23. Vindonio Borgese, 21, Staramara Tech University | 6 ft 3 in Audioslavian Ancestry
GK Jill Swanson, 19 - University of Myana (CMT)
Strengths: Composure, Jumping Reach Weaknesses: Transitionary Play, Readable
Swanson has impressed many a Manager for being unflappable, even at her young age. She needs to improve overall to set herself apart from the crowd that has formed in the position, but this should ben an ample opportunity to do so.

GK Christopher Silverman, 18 - Felswyr State University (CMT) Quebecois/Chromatik Dual National
Strengths: Strength, Direct Kicks Weaknesses: Injury Prone, Temperamental
Silverman went viral a year ago after utterly trash talking both the opposing player and the referee. He has his admirers and his naysayers, but he deserves a spot on this team.

GK Vindonio Borgese, 21 - Staramara Tech University (CMT) Audioslavian Ancestry
Strengths: Headstrong, Leader Weaknesses: Mentality, Inconsistent
Borgese is on the team as a leader and someone who can help everyone stay on track. He may need to be kept on check in regards to being too negative at times, but if that can be kept at bay, a definite asset.

Defensive Backs
RB 2. Park Hyun-Jung, 19, Felswyr State University | 6 ft 2 in
CB 3. Ramata Colley, 21, Pùr State University | 6 ft 3 in Banijan Ancestry
LB 4. Carson Aletta, 21, Eyrods Tech | 6 ft 7 in
RB 13. Odwin Muir, 21, Pùr State University | 6 ft 5 in
CB 14. Eileen Jackson-Jones, 21, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | 6 ft 9 in
LB 15. Hannah McTavish, 21, University of Myana | 6 ft 4 in Quebecois Ancestry
RB Park Hyun-Jung, 19 - Felswyr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Defensive Positioning, Strength Weaknesses: Speed, Jumping Reach
A defender's defender with all the basic skills, Park can handle almost anyone that comes in her zone. Not the best in transition back to offense, but one always needs at least one player in her role in the backfield.

CB Ramata Colley, 21 - Pùr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Fitness, Dribbling Weaknesses: Aerial Play, Crossing
Colley can do almost anything on the defensive end - except clear crosses. In transition, she can bring the ball out, but she's not the best at getting the ball into dangerous areas.

LB Carson Aletta, 21 - Eyrods Tech (CMT)
Strengths: Forward Play, Crossing Weaknesses: Defensive Positioning, Tackling
The stereotypical forward-pressing left back with the knowledge of how to contribute to the attack and the struggles of getting back into position once the ball is lost.

RB Odwin Muir, 21 - Pùr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Aerial Play, Quickness Weaknesses: Physical Play, Passing
An ace defender on set pieces who isn't the best on the attack.

CB Eileen Jackson-Jones, 21 - Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT)
Strengths: Defensive Positioning, Aerial Play Weaknesses: Quickness, Strength
An intense, put-together defender who can handle almost anyone that gets into her zone, but has limitations when it gets to late in matches.

LB Hannah McTavish, 21 - University of Myana (CMT)
Strengths: Pressing Play, Defensive Marking Weaknesses: Transitionary Play, Speed
The perfect substitute for Aletta, McTavish can be slotted in to help hold the lead. A defender's defender.

Midfielders
RM 5. Marc Dunn, 21, Alnio University of the Arts | 6 ft 1 in
CM 6. Kevin Peters, 19, Chromia Central College University | 6 ft 8 in
CM/DM 7. Colby McDonald, 20, Eyrods Tech | 6 ft 5 in CAPTAIN
LM 8. Mijo Hallik, 19, Eyrods Tech | 5 ft 11 in
RM 16. Lars Frederick Jones, Jr., 19, Urrheddiao State University | 6 ft 4 in
CM 17. Igerne Félix, 19, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | 5 ft 9 in
CM 18. Marion Goo, 21, Sanar University | 6 ft
LM 19. Jerome Dwyer, 21, Southern Chromatik University | 6 ft 3 in
RM Marc Dunn, 21 - Alnio University of the Arts (CMT)
Strengths: Speed, Fitness Weaknesses: Shooting, Passing
Dunn can run and run and run some more. Needs to get better at turning the runs into opportunities, but that speed does come in handy.

CM Kevin Peters, 19 - Chromia Central College University (CMT)
Strengths: Shooting, Crossing Weaknesses: Physicality, Defensive Positioning
Crossing specialist who can also fire at will, Peters fits the almost-Attacking Midfielder role. Works well alone and in tandem.

CM/DM Colby McDonald, 18 - Eyrods Tech (CMT) Licentian/Chromatik Dual National
Strengths: Pacey, Marking Weaknesses: Physicality, Quickness
Another one of the dual nationals, McDonald is a pacey defensive midfielder with the ability to really stretch the field. Though he doesn't like contact, he still makes the opposing attackers' lives miserable, often times dispossessing them of the ball and pushing it forward to the attack.

LM Mijo Hallik, 19 - Eyrods Tech (CMT)
Strengths: Crossing, Physicality Weaknesses: Speed, Mentality
Mijo knows how to get to where she wants to go and get the ball in toward goal. She can be tracked down, though, and can fade late in matches.

RM Lars Frederick Jones, Jr., 19 - Urrheddiao State University (CMT)
Strengths: Speed, Offensive Positioning Weaknesses: Shooting, Defensive Positioning
Being the second of two speedy right midfielders who can't really shoot, Jones will provide the same abilities as Dunn - albeit with a bit more flair.

CM Igerne Félix, 19 - Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT)
Strengths: Physicality, Shooting Weaknesses: Quickness, Injury Prone
Félix can get by people, shoot the ball from range, and really press on the attack - as long as it won't involve too much quickness.

CM Marion Goo, 21 - Sanar University (CMT)
Strengths: Positioning (Offensive and Defensive), Speed Weaknesses: Mentality, Strength
Marion knows where to be at all times, and has the speed to work, but can be shaken if things turn south.

LM Jerome Dwyer, 21 - Southern Chromatik University (CMT)
Strengths: Quickness, Physicality Weaknesses: Passing, Injury Prone
Dwyer knows how to bring up the ball and get by people to do it. Can he make that connection to facilitate the attack, though?

Forwards
RW 9. Yasuda Usagi, 21, Chromia Central College University | 6 ft 2 in
ST 10. Elaine Howard-Dawes, 18, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | 6 ft 4 in Quebecois/Chromatik Dual National
LW 11. Shishido Natsumi, 21, Felswyr State University | 5 ft 10 in
RW 20. William Delapio, 19, Eyrods Tech | 5 ft 7 in
ST 21. Ryn Jaxon, 19, University of Wirr Tsi | 5 ft 11 in
LW 22. Frederico Hanna, 20, University of Wirr Tsi | 6 ft 1 in
RW Yasuda Usagi, 21 - Chromia Central College University (CMT)
Strengths: Quickness, Direct Shooting Weaknesses: Dropping Back, Physicality
The master of the second ball, Usagi is good at being where he needs to be at the right time - but not as good at returning to help defend as needed.

ST Elaine Howard-Dawes, 18 - Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT)
Strengths: Killer Instinct, Shots Weaknesses: Getting by Defenders, Speed
The scorer of the team who is lethal from close to midrange, as long as she doesn't need to get past someone to achieve that shot.

LW Shishido Natsumi, 21 - Felswyr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Crosses, Quickness Weaknesses: Shooting, Positioning
The assist merchant of the front three who doesn't mind if she doesn't get the goals scored.

RW William Delapio, 19 - Eyrods Tech (CMT)
Strengths: Pure Speed, Positioning Weaknesses: Physicality, Fades Late
The speedster of the bunch who fades late in matches. Great in bursts.

ST Ryn Jaxon, 19 - University of Wirr Tsi (CMT)
Strengths: Physicality, Quickness Weaknesses: Headstrong, Injury Prone
The striker who can actually get through the defender to get a shot on goal.

LW Frederico Hanna, 20 - University of Wirr Tsi (CMT)
Strengths: Crossing, Speed Weaknesses: Strength, Mentality
Another player who can cross balls in - Natsumi is a bit better than he is, though.

Usual Starting Lineup:

Home Away Third

Manager: Jürgen Eisenhower, age 45
Assistant: Igor Topić, age 39

Keepers
GK: Đurđica Grgić, age 20, Lunas FC (F)
GK: Josipa Novosel, age 21, Lìjû (F)
GK: Kardos Szûcs, age 19, Shearwater Image
While their senior teams might not be having the best of times, both Lunas and Lìjû have some good prospects coming through their ranks, including keepers. Đurđica Grgić has some quite good reflexes and has been used in the SuperLiga from time to time as a back up or in the Copa, which has her just edge the two others competing for the number one shirt. If for some reason she is not up to her task, Kardos Szûcs looks to be the back up, having been part of a well run club in Kelssek and receiving quite a high level of training which is quite useful for development at his age.

Defenders
L/CB: Joska Szöllôsy, age 19, Aleiusia Capital Image
LB: Steinþór Árnason, age 17, Lunas FC
CB: Bertuska Balázs, age 19, CA Paulinthal (F)
CB: Kont Vas, age 19, Hellinic Rouge
CB: Zétény Szatmári, age 19, Sterling Heights Image
R/CB: Kornél Borsos, age 19, Aspel Image
CB/MC: Sarika Weöres, age 19, Daedonggang 3.26 Image (F)
RB: Pál Szôlôssy, age 19, Hellinic Rouge
RB: Jóhann Sigurgeirsson, age 21, Lunas FC
An extremely common theme for this team is a selection of players who on the cusp of making their domestic clubs senior team or may even already be a rotation starter with them, with a majority of the players at nineteen. It's an important transitional period for many a player and it is where we see the first signs of those who can reach their potential and those who will not. For the defense, that starts with a large contingent from Lunas who are soon to be pulled into the first team as their club fights for survival, giving the players there plenty of needed experience to help accelerate their growth. This sees Jóhann starting on the right side of the defense, while Steinþór makes the team despite only being seventeen and backing up Joska Szöllôsy on the left, the latter playing their trade in Zeta Reka. Kont Vas looks to be the towering centerback to marshall the defense, where Bertuska Balázs is more capable with her feet but still quite the tenacious defender in her own right, giving her the other starting spot along the back four.

Midfielders
RW: Dunya Areebah Asfour, age 21, Baskita FC (F)
RW: Pista Benedek, age 19, CA Paulinthal
A/MC: Zágon Schmid, age 19, Tanrısal
A/MC: Áron Gombos, age 21, CA Paulinthal
D/MC: Borsala Takácz, age 19, Galatica (F)
RW/MC: Frici Király, age 19, Club Stein-los (F)
D/MC: Zágon Gerencsér, age 19, Lunas FC
L/RW: Bettina Gaál, age 19, Stoneport Image (F)
A/ML/ST: Melinda Sultész, age 19, Avidë (F)
Traditionally Pasargan teams are built upon a strong midfield who can control the middle of the park, able to dictate the pace and style of play going on in a match. That is going to be a bit more complicated with this team though, as there is no out and out center midfielder among the team, with a plethora of players who are able to play in multiple positions. Áron Gombos is going to be at the heart of the team though, being one of the two players who survive from the last tournament, along with Dunya Areebah Asfour who will start on the right wing. Borsala Takácz will be a surprising starter after Galatica's youth team had an exceptionally well coordinated season with the midfielder at the heart of that effort, styling herself in a destroyer role. The left is the weakest spot to try and choose from out of the designated midfielders, although Melinda Sultész was the best player from an average team in her youth league and will get the start to begin the tournament for the Young Wanders.

Strikers
ST: Csenger Orbán, age 19, CA Paulinthal
ST: Orkény Szegedi, age 19, Stein-los Turkish
ST: Marijo Varga, age 21, Lunas FC
AMLC/ST: Bogdan Laszlo, age 17, Shamrock Cathair Image
ST: Ubaldina Mondragón Sepúlveda, age 18, Santos Luega
There are two headlines from the striker selection, the first being Csenger Orbán who actually did see playing time with the Hurricane in the last season as well as putting in quite the shift with the youth team, collecting twenty goals to his name in the youth league. The talent is there to be lethal in front of goal and gives him one of the two starting spots up front. The other headline is Bogdan Laszlo, who was born in Audioslavia to Pasargan parents and was discovered by Jürgen Eisenhower by happenstance while playing the newest version of Worldwide Footysim Manager during his downtime. Going to scout him in person, Laszlo apparently has quite a lot of potential and gets a call up despite being only seventeen, although will be an option off the bench instead of starting. Paring up with the CAP striker up front will be Orkény Szegedi, who also scored over twenty goals in the youth league last season, using a good combination of power and speed to bully opposition defenders and get into better scoring positions.

We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more.

This team is all about containing their opponent, letting them make mistakes, and capitalising on those. Let the other guys get impatient, lose the ball, and immediately go for the counter attack. Yes, it's frustrating to play against, but you have to admit that there's a certain beauty to doing this near-flawlessly every single time. The Dragonflies aren't a very physical team, but can match almost every opponent in stamina (not so much power or speed, though. Typically only the wingers are pacy). Instead, they rely on tactics and patience. The team is also good enough to be in possession a lot and dictate the tempo, though they're not always creative enough to break down the opposing defence - for that, the Dragonflies have learned to be very, very good on counterattacks, set pieces, and a few patterns in open play. Given the experience most of these players have, it's hard to come up with something new they've never seen - and then do that well enough to reliably score. In order to beat us, you'll need to bring two (or more) of the following: power, speed, caution.

Basically, this team comes prepared, is patient, and keeps a cool head.

Image
Numbers 1 to = typically start (but not always, feel free to choose your starters). That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, and =.
Numbers 1-1= are typically selected as starters or subs (but not always, feel free to select some 23+-ers as subs or starters).
Numbers 20 and over are mostly there as emergency replacements, but can be part of the squad for some games. These are almost always younger players with a lot of promise.

Image
The standard for this team. Five defenders, a defensive midfielder-slash-pivot, two wingers, an attacking midfielder-annex-second striker, and a pure finisher up front. In possession, one of the defenders can push up: this might be one of the fullbacks to provide width, but can also be one of the centrebacks, in which case the defensive midfielder makes way. The wingers will be wider or narrower based on the opposition, and the same determines how far the fullbacks will advance. In defence, the team becomes narrower, with the defensive midfielder playing spoiler to whoever is trying to find space between the Ko-orenite lines, and the wingers falling back to meet opposing fullbacks. The striker and attacking midfielder will almost always look for space to launch a counterattack.
Image
The alternate lineup, which still adheres to a basic 5-4-1. You could call it a 5-5-0, seeing as the striker is sitting back much further. This lineup works the exact same for the defenders, with or without possession. The defensive and central midfielder are pivots, the wingers have far more freedom to find space, and the striker drops back to receive the ball and allow other players to overlap, enabling them to score a goal rather than the striker themselves. In defence, the midfielders can organically shrink and expand their 'pentagram-five' formation much more fluidly.

Commonwealth of Baker Park Under 21 National Team

53rd DBC/U21WC74 Champions

Image

The Baker Park Under-21 National Team return to the competition that introduced the Commonwealth to the multiverse and retains significant importance to the entire National Team setup; their 13th trip to Valanora will be as defending champions of the DiBradini Cup for the first time, which will be denoted by a purple star above the crest.
Just eight players return from that squad, which includes a core that represents the most capped age group players in NT history; Renee Mackenzie, Stefanie Martini, Camille Prince, Carlton Morgan and Claudia Grayson will each go over 20 youth caps during the DBC, while the Junior Bees overall will bring an 11 match unbeaten streak dating back to DBC 51 which they hope to build upon.

Starting Lineup, Formation, and Tactics:

Image

The Valladar national football team is known for having its traditional 3-2-2-3 (or 3-4-3 for general reference) formation, which nowadays has mutated into a 3-5-2 by pushing back one of the three forwards to act as a playmaker, and can turn into either a very aggressive yet non-conventional 3-2-5 for attacking or a 5-4-1 (a 3-6-1, even) when the team feel the need to enter into a defensive mode. However, for this tournament this team will play under a more conventional 4-3-3 formation, with two strong lines at the back and the middle of the field, two wingers and a central forward who can also play as a "false 9" or even a playmaker in the event the team feel the need to exert more control in the middle of the field. Regardless of the chosen formation, La Nacional will always be looking to attack and retain ball possession for as long as possible, trying to score many goals in the shortest possible time and mounting an insurmountable lead for the second half of the match when players from both teams start showing signs of fatigue, with manager Federico Rassmussen aiming to implement high-pressing elements for whenever the team lose possession of the ball.

Team Personality
The Darmeni team will never argue with the referee. Indeed, if anything needs to be brought to the attention of the referee it will be done by either the Captain or Vice-Captain in a respectful manner (or to the fourth-official by the Manager). With regards to foul/dirty play, the Darmeni team will not provoke, or retaliate against any opposition player. Darmeni's expect each team to keep to itself and deal with its own trouble makers; any opposition player who attempts to prevent a conflict by pushing or pulling a Darmeni away from the scene will be promptly told off, as that is the duty of the Darmeni Captain.

Nonetheless, Darmen will play in a relatively aggressive manner. Tackles will be conducted in a way which ensures the opponent ends up on the ground, but causing injury will be avoided as much as possible. On set pieces, Darmenis will stand their ground and will not be easily pushed around, they will not however engage in hugging. In fact, if any opposing player tries to push past them, it is not uncommon for the Darmeni player to feign resistance before simply stepping aside and watching as the opposing player stumbles past on their way to ground. This occasionally backfires however, as the referee may mistake the incidence as having been a foul in the box.
