March 21 is the Spring Festival holiday in the Principality of Saalenia. This year the spring festival will take place again in its capital Matria in the week from March 20th to March 26th, 2023. Not only for the inhabitants of the small state, but also people from all over the world are invited. Therefore the capital will be full of people. They want to learn more about Saalenia, its state religion of Gayanism, and the Spring Festival. Then come join us. We would be delighted to welcome you to our beautiful Principality!

Hello fellow Nationstates players! My custom nation of Saalenia is now getting to a point where I'm throwing it in the ring as a roleplay setting. I want to make the role play open. Although the central setting is the festival taking place, your characters can come to the principality for various reasons.
Simple tourists and visitors to the festival, business people looking for deals in the rather prosperous principality, diplomats who want to get in touch with politics. Everything is possible! This setting is open, has a few plot points and is used for world building and for getting to know this strange yet close culture.
I limit the setting to Matria for now. However, some plot points may lead beyond that. Saalenia is a Matriarchy of a very unique kind and this will have IC-Consequeces. Note that this is just an IC-Ideology and not meant to be taken seriously. All genders are playable, even non-binary.
German is spoken in Saalenia, I will then ask whether German is the language of your characters. However, this only affects IC, OOC is the language English and it should be stated which language you are currently speaking and listening to. Your character does not have to speak German.
This setting is in a "realistic" world, meaning only human characters are played. It takes place IC in March 2023. I will include images of characters and locations via URLs in role-play. Of course, these are images of real people and places, which are only representative and therefore not congruent with the real equivalents. Saalenia is an independent nation and not a reflection of a real one.
I will play ALL NPCs and describe the world around you. You will only play your characters. The IC will be opened at December 14, so one week after this post. I might close the applications, when too many characters have applied.
