[APPEAL] Unlock Embassy Thread

Alright, it's been a few days now, the point has been made. Can we get the BoM Embassy unlocked at this point? It was a strange collective punishment to begin with and it's stretching to the point of becoming an actual hindrance to our region's operations.

I understand that the behind-the-scenes discussion is still ongoing with regards to the illegal activity in GP reports ruling, but I think it's in everyone's best interests if we could get on with our normal business and not be incentivized to keep pestering you guys for updates on that matter. It is worth nothing that other organizations that have since posted similar content have not been locked down in the meantime.

As the person responsible for the post that got the thread locked, driving this appeal...since when is it Moderation policy to indefinitely lock threads - not for a trawl, or to cool down - but because you cannot decide whether or not one post each by two players is warnable? Warn me and Wasc, or don't, but I'm not aware of any precedence for locking a whole org's thread for days because of a potentially warnable post.

Unless this is assessing whether the entire decades of thousands of "crime-posts" in GP is warnable? In which case, ya might as well lock nearly every R/D embassy on both sides.

I'm trying to wait patiently, thus why I asked if I could have the thread unlocked so we could resume the primary thing we do in this game that isn't camping out in this subforum waiting for moderators to determine the continued legality of such hard-hitting issues as handling salmon under suspicious circumstances. I appreciate the rare consistency from your team on this matter, but surely some of you have to see how absurd this is getting at this point.

If Souls or Wasc broke the forum rules, warn them for whatever you want to call the offense they committed, but the rest of us don't need to be on lockdown until you figure it out.

So of course we have the original lone wolves united smoking post in an unlocked thread.

Then we have this post about "threatening murder" and this post which contains multiple illegal activities such as an "Assassin" and illegally firing a firearm from the Gray Wardens.

This is a big one as well - in a majority of the world it is illegal to impersonate the government. Therefore I would like to report South Africa, The United Nations, United Kingdom, and Empire of Great Britain I am sure there are many more of these and I hope our wonderful moderators will go through and lock away these awful threads as well.

I know if we keep digging we can find the plethora of reports about either graffiti or stopping said graffiti (graffiti is illegal and impersonation of police is also illegal). I'm also sure we could find more regions that are illegally taking the name of real life nations, illegally breaking copyright by having names of already created places. Should I GHR those regions as well? I'm sure site staff want to evenly enforces these rules. This also means that things such as child labor, slavery, and cannabis among other things will be illegal in the RP side of things, right? Anyone claiming their nation holds land it doesn't will be punished as well, right? Would you like me to gather more of a list of people breaking rl laws?

If people had the common sense not to post something that others had just got warned for, rather than trying to use it as an edgy method to chivvy us along, you wouldn't be in this situation. No warnings were handed out because there is an ongoing discussion on the matter amongst the team. The locks prevent more attempts by people to post things that others have just been warned for.

I don't want to take anything away from the suspicious salmon handling line though. That was golden.

I promise I'm not trying to be a dick about this, but according to the OSRS: "The appeal will be reviewed by a moderator who was not involved with the original ruling".

I don't even at this point want a second opinion, as I don't expect a different answer, but I think it's worth getting another mod in here just for the sake of handing this appeal by the book and getting it over with.

So in lieu of denying our appeal, you have postponed ruling on the appeal until the length of this collective punishment is served? So the appeal on this unprecedented lock will be ruled upon when it's unlocked?

That is the equivalent of denying it. Just do it. Which to be clear is accepted and expected at this point after the week of mod incompetence and absurdity that has been. But at least pay lip service to procedure, by the Overseer.

No - the appeal is neither denied or granted at this time; Sedge and CG are simply saying that the appeal for this will be handled and announced together with the appeal on the LWU issue, which will be very soon.

Hold on here, is the implication that there's a possibility that after the ruling is handed down, the thread won't be unlocked? That's the only way the approach to this matter makes any sense to me. I thought it would be unlocked by default when everything was sorted, but the way you're phrasing this is rather worrying to me.
