OP is now updated to 25. All those coming afterwards will be considered to be on the waitlist. In case the number has to be trimmed down to 24, I will gladly remove Nueva Orinoquia and Kikunomi as they are both the puppet signups.

I have held off the original plan to post my hosting plan for now, as I've received enquiry from Banija since the calls for signups about a possible hosting plan of his for the said competition.

He informed me that a decision could be made by noon, plus-minus a couple of hours, so I have told him that I could wait then. No rush is needed at all.

So once again, sorry folks for an additional delay, but I'm always happy to not host this comp once in a while :p It's a good thing!

Update: WBEO's signup will count. With that we have 24 mains + 2 puppets.

Alright. So Banija has informed me that he plans to bid for XVI or XVII instead. So for this VWE, I will put together a hosting plan post and get this going soon.

Signups are closed now. Both Kikunomi and Nueva Orinoquia will be removed to establish a 24-team format. Expect everything thread to be up sometime today.

Volleyball World Expo XV - Quebec & Shingoryeo

The Royal Quebecois Volleyball Federation (RQVF) is honoured to announce the hosting plan for the 15th Volleyball World Expo, which is back on show in Quebec and Shingoryeo.

Format

We have 26 nations signed up, with 2 puppets in Nueva Orinoquia and Kikunomi. Easy-peezy as we can remove both puppets and go straight to a 24-team format.

The exact format, partly influenced by the FIVB World Cup format IRL, and one that have been used for VWE 12 and 13, will run as following:

  • Group Stage (24 teams): Single Round Robin. Two groups of twelve teams. Top 4 of each group progress to the quarterfinals. Eleven matchdays will be divided into six windows - five double-scorination and one single-scorination window.
  • Knockout Round (8 teams): Single-elimination bracket with 3PPO and classification rounds for 5th-8th place sides. There will be 3 single-scorination windows, with both medal matches held on the same day.

Tiebreakers will be based on RL FIVB tiebreakers: Wins, points (3-0 and 3-1 wins = 3 points, 3-2 wins = 2 points, 2-3 losses = 1 point, 1-3/0-3 losses = 0 point), Set Quotient, Point Quotient, Head to Head Results.

Scorination

Xkoranate 0.3.3., with volleyball function, will be used. RP bonus will be cumulative for the entire tournament. There is no style modifier for volleyball.

Unrostered nations with a rank will have their ranks halved. Their full rank will be restored following the posting of a roster.

Cutoffs will occur earlier for this tournament, especially due to the requirement to wake up early. Let's say the window will be 20h30 to 22h30 UTC (15h30 to 17h30 EST), with adequate amount of time given for any delays in advance.

Tentative Schedule

In terms of schedule, I am more than flexible, especially with the IFCF deadline inching closer and a wide range of competitions likely to occur over the course of the month. With that in mind, I am more than happy to keep the schedule for everybody’s sake.

IRL the FIVB World Cup has around two to three days gap between its rounds, which is slightly denser than the usual five-day gap given on the Volleyball Nations’ League, but works for this purpose. With that said, we will be running under a slight hazard with IFCF, Christmas break and all the fun and tempting stuff coming around the clock. So I would like to set schedule along those lines, with two possible

THRD OPEN 2/12
IC-INFO 4/12
WINDOW 1 9/12 [Can be adjusted to 10th if needed.]
WINDOW 2 12/12 [Extra Day Off for IFCF Submission.]
WINDOW 3 14/12
WINDOW 4 16/12
WINDOW 5 18/12
WINDOW 6 20/12
QUARTERS 22/12 [If a delay in scorination occurs, this can be pushed back to 23rd or 26th.]
--BREAK--
SEMI+5-8 27/12 [Can be adjusted to 28th if needed.]
PLACEMNT 29/12 [In case of previous round’s postponement, can also be postponed to 30th. The competition will not run past the 30th.]

Due to several circumstances I will be uploading IC info and starting the competition a day later than expected. The first cutoff window is to happen on December 10th, not 9th as originally stated.

Hi folks. After consultation with other users, I've decided to push back the scorination dates by several days.

MD1 will start on the 13th, with the group stage ending just before Christmas eve. I had considered 12th, but with at least three major tournaments expected to occur on even-numbered (WCoH, RUWC, and CR), I think that it would make sense to at least have the group stage go on odd-numbered days.

I've also decided to alter the knockout rounds' schedule, with the QFs and SFs/5th-8th rounds being played on 27th and 29th, us taking another short break between 30th and January 1st, before returning for the final MD on the 2nd. Should people need more time for the knockout round, I can certainly push back the starting date to 28th or even 30th - please contact me via Discord or TG if so.

Hi folks. Unexpected personal circumstances hit me right after work, so I had to deal with that for most of the evening.

It is resolved for the time being though, so I will cut off momentarily.

An additional update for cutoffs: On the 21st I will be expected to be at a work party, which also serves as me and my colleague being introduced, after a meeting. Staying sober for past six months should help in this case, but I still expect to be home well past my usual window.

Let's say that the cutoff window for that day will be on the 21h to 23h UTC (2am to 4am the following day).

I've heard that the forum downtime is expected to happen sometime between now and Dec 24. No bueno. With that and lots of competitions happening around same time, it appears that people's RP experience with the tournament in mind.

So I think that it's a good time to have a Christmas break and resume scorination on the 27th. Happy holidays loves.

Hello all. I am confirming that VWE cutoff will still happen tomorrow.

Expect the cutoff window to be 21h-23h for the remainder of group stage, however, with the normal cutoff window expected to be back on agenda for the Knockout Round on the New Year.

Congrats and Commiserations to all.

Here are the Post-15 rankings for the tournament.

With this in mind, it's time to head into the domestics season, as your favourite players and teams head abroad. No need to worry about ranks - VWE ranks consist a significant part of the coefficients used for the competition! You are more than welcome to just post a table, say adios and see how things come along!

For more instructions, see below. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions or need more time to post your league. I'm not in a rush, no matter what the 15th deadline says :)

The entry deadline for the seventh cycle of the International Volleyball Federation (IVF) competitions, will be 15 January 2023, 23:59 EST (Toronto-New York Time).

Entry for International Volleyball Federation - Cycle VII

Please read the sample format carefully, especially for WorldLeague venues. We will be keeping the same format as last time, with a minor adjustment:

  • IVF WorldLeague accepts one national team per nation. A maximum of one puppet national team can be entered.
  • Unlike in past editions, when the WorldLeague competitions were all held in a single location (e.g. VNL 2021), venue submissions for the first group stage will be accepted. Venue submissions, entirely up to the participating nation, will be done under a simplified format, with the entrant just submitting venue, location and capacity (e.g. Ssangye Arena, Ssangye, Quebec and Shingoryeo - Cap: 5,870).

For the IVF Volleyball Champions League, the number of teams allowed is determined according to the association's coëfficient ranking, with the following distribution:
  • The top six active associations (Mytanija, Quebec and Shingoryeo, Bollonich, Banija, Gatchingerrak Union and Pemecutan) are entitled to enter three teams to the VCL 7.
  • All other associations may enter up to two clubs. One user will be allowed to enter with a main and a puppet, with the latter being declared on the form.
  • As defending champions, Vreton Bulls receives automatic qualification to the group stage. Should Vreton Bulls not qualify, Bollonich will be given a fourth qualification spot.

  • For the IVF International Beach Tour (IBT), three pairs per association, as well as individual Open venues, will be accepted. A maximum of one puppet association can be entered, with 2 pairs allowed. Please clearly state your pair in 1-2-3 order for placement purposes. It is also to be noted that you are not obliged to post domestic results with IBT submissions.
  • As defending champions, Youdit Brehane/Selam Bekele pair receives automatic qualification to the group stage. Should this pair not qualify for the upcoming edition of VBWC, Banija will be given a fourth pair available for qualification.
  • If Banija does not post a domestic submission for this cycle, Brehane/Bekele pair will be the sole entry entered for BNJ. This, continued precedence from the previous cycle with Ishmael/Luy pair of Hispinas, is also to provide IC continuity though.

  • Associations interested to bid for the final site of the next VCL/WorldLeague/IBT shall post their arena bid with a format similar to that of the IFCF, as have stated in the OP. If there are no bids received, then the default venue will remain to be in Ssangye Arena, Ssangye, Quebec and Shingoryeo for VCL/WorldLeague and Doncliffe Beach, Kingston, Quebec and Shingoryeo.

Please use the following format. You are more than welcome to submit a site bid for either WL or IBT as well:

Samplestan (XYZ) qualifiers
master nation of Sampleland (ZYX)
VCL: 1093 Sampleton, Sampleville Tigers, Samplesamplesamplesample VC
WorldLeague: Samplestan - Samplestan City Arena, Samplestan City, Samplestan (Cap: 24,300)
IBT: Sample A/Sample B, Sample C/Sample D, Sample E/Sample F - Samplestan Open, Samplestan Beach, Samplestan City (Capacity: 210)
