Hello. This is my first time writing an SC resolution. I've had an idea for a declaration against declarations for a while now.

The Security Council,

NOTING that declarations are often written and proposed

RECOGNIZING that declarations are often written for frivolous goals, such as declaring official foods

NOTING that unlike Commendations, Liberations, or Condemnations, they mainly serve as a vehicle of platitudes with no power of enforcement

HEREBY declares its stance against declarations

The Security Council,

The anti-declaration camp is insufferable. If you don't like them, don't write them. It's something to give the players more freedom with what they want the SC to look like - which is ironic since I often see this anti-declaration rhetoric from the same areas that think the SC is too GP-heavy. You have limitless options to do whatever you want in the SC, and the most clever thing you can come up with is "declarations bad" because..?

I don't really intend this proposal to be taken too seriously. However, I do think it will be amusing if it does go forward. After all, there have been other resolutions of an interesting nature such as "Condemn This Game" (later repealed).

Anyhow I am waiting for some constructive comments regarding this proposal. Otherwise I may consider submitting it as it is.

The Security Council has made resolutions referring to the site in a negative way before. One was "Condemn This Game" (later repealed) which condemned a region called This Game but was clearly intended to condemn the entire site.

In-character, Condemn This Game would have caused the SC to condemn the region by the name of This Game, rather than denounce the entire site (and by extension itself). Further, Condemn This Game was an April fool's joke, and, to be bluntly honest, far more humorous than this.

My man was not only humorous enough to write a joke declaration but was audacious enough to submit it. And surprisingly it got enough support to be brought to voting. This is truly a praiseworthy act, and to express my admiration I'm even thinking of drafting a resolution commending Savonir. I think this declaration can only be classified as "based."
