ACKNOWLEDGING that acts of war may never cease on said planets,
REALISING that space explorers risk their lives for the sake of scientific advancement,
ANXIOUS to protect those who risk their lives for scientific advancement;
Hereby defines:
"Space Explorers" as any sentient species or robot launched into space for the sake of discovery of space.
"Space" as the area outside of the atmosphere or 100 kilometres above any celestial body.
"Discovery Missions" as any unarmed launch into space intended for learning about and/or researching space.
Hereby requires that:
- 1. Member Nations may not fire any kind of weaponry at any vessels or payloads which are on a Discovery Mission.
2. No Discovery Missions may be sabotaged by any means, including
- a. Draining fuel tanks prelaunch,
b. Assassinating and/or deactivating any Space Explorers,
c. Ransacking cockpits for stashes of food or oxygen,
d. Causing any physical or technological damage to vital components of a nation's Discovery Mission(s).
