Format:
The 22 teams will be split into 2 groups of 11 teams, randomised by sign-up order (Another Twist in this Tea Cup). In particular, the teams will play a single round-robin in TeaFarmers, with the top 4 teams advancing to the Upper Bracket, the next 4 teams advancing to the Lower Bracket, and the remaining 3 teams eliminated from the competition. From then on, it is a pretty-standard double knockout bracket, with the image of the detailed bracket to be released soon.

Tiebreakers
For the group stage, the default tiebreakers will be used:
1) Points (3 point for a win, 1 for a draw)
2) Head-to-head Points between tied teams
3) Head-to-head Goal Difference between tied teams
4) Goal Difference
5) Match Wins
6) Coin Flip (OOC: Scorinating draw-off match(es) between tied teams)

In all matches in the tournament, standard football rules apply. For all knockout games (except the Grand Finals), should the score be level after 90 minutes, teams will play 30 minutes of extra time, and if the score is still level, teams will play a penalty shoot out. For the Grand Finals, should the score be level after 90 minutes, teams will

RP Information:
(selected portions from Host bid)
Teams who submit rosters will be given RP bonuses up to half the amount of RP bonus allowed for 1 matchday (0 to 4). In addition, such teams will be given an additional base bonus of 6 (regardless of quality of roster), to separate teams who roster from teams who don't roster.

Just like the recent World Cup, a form of degrading bonus will be used so that nations won't be obliged to RP every cutoff for the sake of doing so. From Cutoff 2, nations will be guaranteed a floor, determined by 35% of the average of the previous 2 RP bonuses (or 35% of cutoff 1's RP bonus for cutoff 2), rounded to the nearest 3 decimal place, as the bonus rank added for the cutoff. Should the RP bonus given be higher than the calculated bonus rank floor, the RP bonus will be added to your rank instead.

To assist in RPing, there will be additional prompts given in cutoff posts. These are prompts that can be related to anything, including a quirk about TeaFarmers, some differences between Poafmersia and TeaFarmers, as well as some additional IC information. There is no penalty/bonus for following such prompts.

For teams who change their style modifier after submission of the roster, they would be allowed to make one change in the style modifier in the tournament. To change the style modifier, you would need to make 1 IC post explaining the change, followed by a telegram to this nation (TeaFarmers) for us to note the change.

For the newcomers to NS Sports, participating in a tournament in this forums for the first time, do have a read at the Guide to Sports Roleplaying, linked above! For more info on how to start a football roster, I have linked some information in the spoiler below, explaining about RP permisions, style mods and all.

Before any tournament begins, it is common courtesy to post a roster. A roster may include: Background to your country; Information about your players; Sharing about your football playing style; How your fans interact with out fans in this nation; some of the special information others should know when roleplaying about the match between your team and their team.

In your roster post please include the ever useful RP permissions box to let your opponents know what you're okay with them doing in their post-match RPs. A common template is as follows:

RP PERMISSIONS
If my opponent roleplays first, they may:
Choose my starting lineup: Y/N
Choose my goalscorers: Y/N
Godmod scoring events: Y/N
RP injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players: Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players: Y/N
Godmod other events: Y/N

You may also include a style modifier which reflects your national team's style of football in the roster. The modifier is a number (typically up to 3 decimal places), between -5 and +5. The most defensive of teams will use a style modifier of -5, while the most aggressive of teams will use a style modifier of +5. Teams who play a more balanced style may use a style modifier of 0. Do note that this will not affect your chances of victory/defeat, it only affects how the final scoreline may be. For instance, looking at a one-goal win, two really aggressive teams have a higher possibility of scoring 7 goals in a 4-3 victory for one; two really defensive teams are more likely to end up having a 1-0 scoreline instead.

IC Information about TeaFarmers

TeaFarmers is a futuristic nation, based in the region of Sonnel. Sonnel is on a different dimension as compared to the rest of the multiverse, and indeed, so is TeaFarmers. The nation is a futuristic anarchy, with civil rights at a sky high level, and only a people's council that is in charge of the entire country. The people's council is made up of 30 permanent members and 17 rotational members, with the 17 rotational members people picked from around TeaFarmers.

Some basic questions before we start:
- How do you call a person from TeaFarmers? A Teamer.
- What is the national language of TeaFarmers? Its called Teach. Yes, don't try to take it literally in English or whatever you are reading this in.
- What is the national animal of TeaFarmers? A Tea-kachu. Nope, we aren't trolling. If you have a mental image of what this may be, yes, you may be right.
- What are some of the sports Teamers like? Well, 7-ball is the most popular sport. Anything else? Sacrifical Chess. Duplicate Hearts. Athletics. Teaguessr. Protectors of Tea (A first-person shooter).
- Any laws we should be careful of? Nothing. It is an anarchy, you see? Apart from border control and security-related issues, anything typically goes.

Travelling to and from TeaFarmers
With no apprent direct path to the rest of the multiverse, people typically travel the Sonnel Portal to Drawkland or the other big nations in Sonnel. However, TeaFarmers actually has its own direct portal from Trimidau Island in Poafmersia. The thing is, the location doesn't advertise itself as the portal between Poafmersia and TeaFarmers, under a secret agreement between the foreign affairs of Poafmersia and the TeaFarmers' government. This location is known as the Poafmersian Museum of Magic. Of course, you need to prove (to the staff there) that you know that the portal exists in the location, and for a group of 30-35 people trying to enter such a portal, you are better off using your invite ticket (which your association can obtain via a written email to the PFFA). And given that exiting through the portal is considered as crossing an international border, custom checks need to occur on that side of the border. On the TeaFarmers side, however, it is less complicated. A simple biometric scan is all it takes to enter the nation and past the checkpoints (nope, no travel document whatsoever is required).

The PotatoFarmers-TeaFarmers portal in Trimidau (and the equivalent of Trimidau in TeaFarmers, but let us get to that later) has restricted hours. It is typically an one-way street, coming from PotatoFarmers into TeaFarmers. To gain access, a codeword would need to be said to the on-duty manager, and the on-duty manager would then bring you to the underground location. There, you would then get through. This path is only open during the operating hours of the museum. For the reverse path to occur, it needs to occur outside the operating hours of the museum. And prior permission needs to be obtained from the TeaFarmers authorities to access the portal. Teamers (people of TeaFarmers) typically encourage you to take flights to Drawkland and through the main Sonnel portal, as they pride themselves on their futuristic planes, created by the mega company Gnieob Aviation. Some other countries may possibly have direct portal flights operated by the Gnieob Airlines, so you may find that as a better (but longer alternative).

Travelling within TeaFarmers
The thing is this - cars don't exist in the country. Neither do buses. Travel within the country is via the National Portal System (NPS), a system of portals located all around the nation. The NPS is located in undergrounds of the townhalls in the nation, and some tourist hotspots. The portal system is very fast and straightforward, though because the portals have fixed destinations around the country, you might have to jump between various portals to get to the destination you are going to. A TeaFarmers quirk.

Also, one more thing. It is impossible to obtain a map of the country, as nobody in the right mind would be trying to map out the country without any reason. As such, you can't get such a map. While you consider your options if you can't travel properly, consider the fact that TeaFarmers is actually just Poafmersia in another dimension. So, what to do? Bring along this pamphlet of Poafmersia. You can consider the capital of TeaFarmers, Dokidaha, to be located around the current location of Fiskadaha; and the large population centres to be in Jamila (or Dalaris) and Transivistia (or Mancodas). Don't ask.

Stadium Locations
After the Tea Neutralisation Event of 178 A.T. (A.T. stands for After Tea, or 178 years after the formation of TeaFarmers), the weather of the country has been largely centrally controlled through the Weather Control Device (WCD). Meaning, the weather forecaster is 100% accurate in its predicitions. Temperatures largely remain at a cooling temperature of around 15-20 degrees Celsius across the entire nation. However, with the implementation of the WCD, this technology was generally downsized into smaller versions, and as such, multi-purpose sports stadiums are now the norm across the country (like these). With the modularity of buildings in the county, it is also very possible for the country to squeeze a football fields indoors. And yes, you would find that all the locations are indoors, at 2 centralised sports complex in the country.

Transivisita Sports Complex, Transivistia
Located in the second-largest city in the country, Transivistia is home the largest sports complex stack in the country, at 17 floors above ground and 6 under ground. In fact, being the widest sports stack, Building 1 of the Transitivita Complex can and should be resized to 4 football fields at Level 7 and Level 9 of the building. Yes, two side-by-side football fields which can accomodate around 30,000 watching fans each. The area is originally a large artifical grass patch (for the Level 9 stadiums) & real grass patch (for the Level 7 stadiums), so of course it can fit 4 matches. Together with the 2 standard-sized football field in Level 5 (which can accomodate 65,000 fans each), that is 5 stadiums for Group Potato, which includes the assistant host nation, Poafmersia.

Includes: (First listed match in first listed room)
Room Blue - Level 4 Football Stadium (Real Grass, cap. 65k)
Orange Alpha - Level 7 Multi-purpose Field (Real Grass, cap. 30k)
Orange Beta - Level 7 Multi-purpose Field (Real Grass, cap. 30k)
Cyan Alpha - Level 9 Multi-purpose Field (Artifical Grass, cap. 30k)
Cyan Beta - Level 9 Multi-purpose Field (Artifical Grass, cap. 30k)

Alice Bay Sports Complex, Jamila
Located by Alice Bay, the sports complex of the same name is a smaller building on its own. Since most people tend to explore 7ball & other grass-related sports in the city, the plan for the tournament was to convert the 3 existing 7ball fields into actual-sized football fields. And since that is only 3, the stadium's remaining plans will be to convert two multi-purpose halls into artificial turf football patches. A bit strange to the normal person, but Teamers would assure you this can't be noticed, and apart from the match being indoors, there is seriously no difference. This is 5 stadiums for Group Tea, the other group of the tournament.

Includes: (First listed match in first listed room)
Pitch 7 - Level 2 7-ball Pitch (Real Grass, cap. 47,777)
Pitch 77 - Level 4 7-ball Pitch (Real Grass, cap. 47,777)
Pitch 777 - Level 6 7-ball Pitch (Real Grass, cap. 47,777)
Johnson Hall - Level 8 Multi-purpose Hall (Artifical Grass, cap. 27k)
George Hall - Level 10 Multi-purpose Hall (Artifical Grass, cap. 27k)

OFFICIAL FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE TEMBAGAN & TERJUNIAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

About Punta Tembaga and the Terjunian Isles

Punta Tembaga and the Terjunian Isles, often shortened to just Punta Tembaga, Tembaga, Tembaga & Terjunia or The Terjunian Isles when referring to that archipelago, are a desolate island chain. Punta Tembaga, a dormant volcano, is the largest and most populous island and the only one accessible by air. Tourism is the largest industry on the island, but has dwindled in recent years due to dilapidated infrastructure. The island chain generated notoriety in recent years as the residence of several criminals, such as wanted tax dodgers and genocidal dictators, some of whom were wanted by West Barack and East Obama's Barack Bureau of Investigation. The remoteness of the island coupled with lax immigration controls (a result of local initiatives to boost population numbers due to low birth rate) made it perfect for criminal extractors to place their clients there.

The national sport of Punta Tembaga and the Terjunian Isles is fly fishing, which has been popular for decades. However, in recent years, many youths have gotten into sports such as cricket and football. There are no professional football clubs on the islands, and the T&TFA receives little government funding, so the sport is at its most basic levels at the moment. However, there is hope that the nation could make it big on the international stage and gradually increase interest (and funding) for the sport, starting with participating in their first football tournament, the Tea Cup.

Loyo isn’t a nation known for football. Baseball was her first love, and the traditions of the ancients hold her citizens in a captivating grip. Still, the game has found a new popularity since the nation opened itself to the world again. Children play the game in the streets, kicking plastic bottles around in lieu of proper balls. Passionate fans crowd around fields that were once used for farming, but now host traveling groups of footballers that thrill locals with the foreign game. Small-town celebrities have been made overnight with stellar performances loudly applauded, and schools are abuzz with talk of domestic and international stars.

Many find in football a return to sport for sporting’s sake, allowing for men and women alike to participate in the joy of the beautiful game after a long week’s work. Yet more see opportunity in the social gatherings that accompany the game, with the more casual atmosphere more conducive to recreation and relaxation than the rabid energy of Loyo’s baseball league.

It is in this growing footballing culture that Loyo sends a team to this 1st Tea Cup. Manager Han Tamada has been the driving force behind the team’s appearance, and his connections within the Communist Party of Loyo have played a part in ensuring the national team will be supplied with the meager essentials to compete.

The team itself is a mixed bag of talent from the country’s touring semi-professional clubs. Captain Tsujii Matashichi, will lead the team in its debut, selected for his management skills on and off the pitch. He functions as Tamada’s right hand, carrying out the will of the manager, whom he has known for his entire life.

The best player on the pitch is likely to be creative attacking midfielder Osuma Jinaowa, who caught the eye of the manager while playing a pickup game only a month before the tournament. Jinaowa has a natural gift for the game, and has impressed manager and teammates alike with his crafty movements. He recently drew the ire of manager Tamada by suggesting that the team might not have deserved to make the Baptism of Fire final.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes, let me know the injury and how long they’ll be out for.
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes
Godmod other events: Yes, no deaths please!

About the Team

Tom Villiers hasn't had a very good tenure in his time of Head of the Hopalian National Program, poor performances seem to follow wherever he brings his team: at the Baptism of Fire, at the Independents' Cup, at the World Cup Qualifying. Tom Villiers has just not been able to shake off poor performances that seem to follow him wherever he goes, and while he did manage to avoid a firing after the last World Cup Qualifying, his job is far from safe. While Hopal's performance at the latest World Cup Qualifying was better than the disastrous showing that was Hopal's first and previous World Cup Qualifying, Team Hopal's performance was far from good. With 6 wins, 2 draws, and 12 losses for Team Hopal in World Cup Qualifying, racking up double the amounts of losses than wins. While it was better than it could have been, and definitely than Team Hopal's last showing of 2-2-16, Hopalian fans were not happy with that performance and many were calling for Tom Villiers to be held accountable. Villiers may have held on after that World Cup Qualifying, but he knows that he can only hold on for so long. So in entering this inaugural Tea Cup, he hopes that Team Hopal can get some more experience in a lower profile tournament after the World Cup, and hopefully get a much needed win. This team assembled for the Tea Cup has been criticized though, for being too similar to the one that started the World Cup Qualifying, with some arguing that roster needs a good shaking-up to change the direction of this team. Tom Villiers has not really made any adjustments to his staff, though one might have expected he might with his own job on the staff at stake. The only change he's made since the World Cup Qualifying is replacing John Ashcroft on staff, who was Tactician and "Special Assistant to the Manager", who's now starting up the U-18 National Program, something he'd long advocated for, and was finally granted permission for with David Stoyers the former Head of the National Program, who now rejoins the staff as Manager Emeritus with Villiers trying to bring in more expert advice and credibility. But other than that, the rest of the staff stays the same. Karin Bartos who was the longtime Goalkeeping Coach for the U-18 team, who brought up many good goalkeepers, 4 of which are on the team: Alex Gargin, Travis Durant, Joilee Parik, and Helen Oburhabel, were all once young promising new players, all of whom Bartos had worked with. But Bartos came under fire during the World Cup Qualifying as the Hopalian goal was not very well defended, with Hopal conceding 48 goals, only 1 less than Hopal's previous disastrous performance. Poor goalkeeping had actually been a bit of theme for Team Hopal over the past few tournaments, previous star goalkeeper Adrian Turcotte retired in disappointment after a poor showing at the Independent's Cup, and briefly served as Goalkeeping Coach during that first ill-fated World Cup Qualifying run, he now works with the U-18 team. Gargin was Turcotte's longtime backup, and widely viewed as his successor, but his stint in net hasn't been too good for Team Hopal, and during the World Cup Qualifying run he was subbed out of net on various occasions. But he and Bartos have their defenders, and many say they haven't been given much of a fair chance so far. The other staff staying on are Alison Woodville, the widely respected and longtime Defensive Coach and David Horages who Tom Villiers brought in as Offensive Coach. Tom Villiers is keeping his formation and style of play from the World Cup Qualifying, which he adopted to try to balance defensive needs with an offensive flair, which had varying degrees of success at the World Cup Qualifying. In the Starting 11 itself not much has changed, we mentioned Alex Gargin was staying on as Goalkeeper. The only two changes to the lineup from the Starting lineup of the World Cup Qualifying are Lucy Anderson, a 30-year-old veteran who spend a long frustrating stint on the benches, and who earned her return to the Starting lineup as a sub, replaces Karos Yamover as Centre Back. The other replacement is longtime veteran of the team Jake Gonchar replaces Wendy Stein to come back into the lineup at Centre Mid. The rest of the Starting 11 stays the same, the two youngsters Kaylee Haboshinter and Allison Terrace stay as Full Back, Assistant Captain and at 32, the oldest member of the team, respected Defender Kay Redford is the other Centre Back. Kelly Hart, Peter Fikudal, and the Frey brothers: Uma and Harris remain as midfielders, and Captain Tommy Sanchez is the team's only forward. The Reserves also mostly stay the same from the World Cup Qualifying, mostly youngsters hoping to make their way into the lineup, or more seasoned players in their prime hoping to make their way back. But it is interesting to note that there are a string of three new young midfielders making their way onto the team for the first time: Dave Brettstrom, Kaylee Ulmyer, and Will Critts, chosen by Villiers from the wider National Program to join the National Team for this tournament. Everyone's hoping that this is the team that can finally bring Team Hopal to accompish something.

Delaclava national football team

The theme of this team is players with the letters "t", "e", and "a" in their names. As it turns out, those are three rather common letters, so the resulting team should be quite strong.

Following AOCAF 67, the Heroes of the Revolution underwent a period of re-education reorganization to rid the squad of subversives and capitalist sympathizers. They now return prepared to prove the superiority of our People's Republic over the decadent offspring of barnyard animals that will provide token opposition, as Comrade Dr Allen wills it to be.

THE ZIWANI FOOTBALL FEDERATION PRESENTS:

THE ZIWANI NATIONAL TEAM SQUAD TO THE 84th CUP OF HARMONY

Image

Ungwazi wa Ziwana is a country located in West Mandalanusa. The country over the years has been quite successful, winning 3 regional titles, reaching the Baptism of Fire Quarter-Final and finishing in 3rd place in the 84th World Cup Qualifiers, narrowly missing qualification to the World Cup Finals in their first attempt. However, the national affectionately called the Akambuku (Leopards) or Scorchers has struggled since the 84th WCQs due to corruption and absences from regional and international football. This has led to the Akambuku dropping down the rankings. Matters where made worse during the Ziwani Civil War when a lot of football players where killed in the war, the worst being when the legendary Ziwani National Team who had won 3 regional cups and finished 3rd in the 84th WCQ where shot down by insurgents whilst flying back home from the 10th CMFA Mandalanusan Cup.

The Akambuku have been in a rebuild since the deaths of its footballing heroes. The new Ziwani Football Federation President, Nicolas Bayaram himself a former player who once played for the national team has promised all Ziwani football fans that in his term the Akambuku will return to their previous best rank which was 68. Bayaram's theme in his election manifesto was 'Raising the bar' which suggested that Ziwanis would have to expect reforms which would aim at taking Ziwani football to the next level. Some of the reforms are ; the commercialisation of football, training of managers and focus on grassroots football. Bayaram in an effort to commercilize Ziwani football, was integral in the founding of the Balabet Ngwaziliga. He had connected the 14 clubs of the top tier with the CEO of Ziwana Sports Group. Bayaram believes that if by televising domestic football, Ziwani talents can be uncovered by foreign agents giving them a chance to compete in more competitive leagues thus raising the standards or should we say raise the bar of the Ziwani national team. In an effort to raise the bar Bayaram has hired 3 joint managers to manage the Ziwani national football team. The managers are; former Pesetih Titih manager Agus Putra Yudana, former Western United manager Thokozani Tembo and former Amangwazi Birnin manager Feston Muhiwani. These 3 managers have quickly been dubbed the '3 wise men' by the media. The 3 managers have been quite successful, Yudana led Pesetih Titih to 4 CMFA Champions League and 2 Kasa League titles, Tembo led Western United to its 28th league title whilst Muhiwani led Birnin Amangwazi to their first ever ZFF Cup Final. With all this success and experience it is expected that Ziwana will do quite well in achieving Bayaram's dream of Ziwana returning to its best rank.

The '3 wisemen ' had been given the objective of raising the Ziwani national team rank from 146 to 100. The '3 wisemen' have not disspointed, under them the national team has not only played beautiful and exciting football but they have also managed to raise the Scorchers rank from 146 to 92, surpassing the previous expectation. Furthermore, Ziwana almost qualified for the playoffs for the World Cup Qualifiers.

Captain: Aapeli Shea
Vice-Captain: Erle Sartini
Penalty Taker: Dagur Lawrence
Free Kick Taker: Leontiy Seet; Taliah Alcock
Corner Takers: The prevailing LB/RB (in the case of a 4-3-3) or LM/RM (in the case of a 3-4-3)

Head Coach: Adnan Suliaha, 65
Assistant Head Coach: Katiri Hedge, 71
General Playing Style: Being a nation which emphasises fast-paced attacking football, Poafmersia would prefer to attack rather than defend. The players can be quite aggressive in getting back the ball, yet they do not keep high amounts of possession and are very good at making mistakes by the opposition team to punish the opponents. Although this team is weak in defending set pieces, they are more fond of scoring through set pieces. Another way of scoring is often pressuring opponents through high defensive lines. Counter-attack is key for this squad in scoring goals.

Formations: 4-3-3 (Primary), 3-5-2 (Secondary), 4-4-2/3-4-3 (Alternates)

Fans
Poafmersian fans are crazy about football, and their loud cheers ring about in the stadiums they visit. They are very willing to disturb the peace in the area to celebrate their win after matches, so matches are best held in the afternoon or early evenings. You can spot Poafmers booking large meeting rooms in hotels, going to bars in groups. Apart from that, they do pick up after themselves, and prevent causing much trouble apart from celebrating. You can be assured, however, that they would be travelling around to support their team, so do reserve half the spots in stadiums for them because they would pack it to the brim.

Home Stadium
For the entire duration of the qualifiers, Poafmersia will be playing their home games at the Libira National Stadium. To accommodate a rising interest in football, there was a slight layout change and stand refurbishment being done prior to the qualifiers, and as such, the stadium capacity has been increased to 70 thousand seated pax. The stadium is located in Fiskadaha City, capital of Poafmersia. To travel to the city, direct flights are provided from many major capital cities around the world. Within Poafmersia, however, public transport, such as trains and buses, are the preferred mode of transport, and there are rail lines available between Fiskadaha and many major cities in the country.

No longer am a Communist. Definetely not a democratic socialist or liberal. My political views atm are pretty weird and messed up. Deal with it.

About the team

About the country

The Empire of Amenria is a federal absolute monarchy spanning its universe's Asia, from Kazakhstan in the west to Korea in the east, and from Siberia in the north to the Maldives in the south. While football has been a popular sport among the people for centuries, even founding what could be argued as its predecessor sport, the Tea Cup is its first multiversal football tournament, as the government has directed more manpower and resources to Quidditch in the past.

This is the Panerial Broadcasting Service. Now we cross over to the land of the tea farmers, as we present, Soccer Roundup.

A bouncy jingle plays over images of players from around the nations involved in the Tea Cup

Hello and welcome to Soccer Roundup, with me Gernot Hedley,
And me, Michaela van der Stoep.
And we have a couple of cracking matches to bring you today, as we head over to the Tea Cup, where Panerialand have had somewhat mixed fortunes.
Yes, so far we've had a win and a loss, putting us in fifth in the table. Here's the highlight reel from the first match, against HUElavia, with commentary from Emilie O'Hara and Fergus Anker.

Match time: 04:35 And that's a fantastic pass from Bellerose, the ball finds its way through to Navarro-Hamada, the shot is on, and it comes off the leg of O'Donnell for a corner.
Yes, that was a fantastic shot, they're unlucky not to make that.
And Bellerose steps up to take the corner, it's a great cross, but Mullins gets a head to it and clears the ball.

Match time: 13:22 Now this attack shows some promise. Honda, passes to Nascimento, to Aveiro, back to Honda, AND IT'S A GOAL! HUElavia lead 1-0!

Match time: 34:45 Cummins, to Campo, to Dries, he's making a decent run, he passes it off to Marchi, ooooh! That looked painful!
Yeah, Higashi really went for that tackle, and I'm honestly not sure how the ref thinks he can get away without a booking, but here we are. Free kick for Panerialand, in a dangerous position. Locatelli steps up to take it, and it hits the wall of defenders. A scrabble for the ball results in a quick clearance by Vargas.

Half-time subs: Marchi > Brooke, Dries > Heppenheimer

Match time: 48:13 Campo, to Heppenheimer, to Brooke, Higashi with the tackle, Brooke goes down... He looks like he might be pretty badly hurt. The ref's coming over, looks like he's reaching into his pocket. Yes, that's a yellow card for Higashi, and the ref points to the spot. Let's have a look at the replay while they set things up.
That was difficult to see in real time, the ref did well to spot it, but that was a dangerous tackle. Not Higashi's fault entirely, which is why it's a yellow not a red, but Brooke is definitely not comfortable right now.
That might be an understatement Emilie. But he's back on his feet, the team medic seems happy for him to continue, and we have a penalty to take. Marchi steps up, and IT PASSES THE KEEPER! Panerialand equalise!

Match time: 89:14 And it's HUElavia making a last-ditch effort to win the match, a strong attack coming down the left hand side of the pitch. Honda has it, he crosses it in to Nascimento, the keeper's on the ground, NASCIMENTO SCORES in the dying seconds of the match! That's it, there's no more time for Panerialand to kick off again, it ends HUElavia 2, Panerialand 1.

Yes, that was quite the match. Losing your first match isn't always what you want, but I think we can come back from that, don't you?
Well if our second match was anything to go by, it's certainly a possibility. Now unfortunately, Panerial technology is not always capable of traversing the infinitudes of the multiverse, and given the extra-dimensional nature of the host nation, we didn't manage to get the feed through from the match against Sixty-ninE X, but we can tell you that it was a 2-0 victory for Panerialand, with goals from Campo and Cummins. The first goal came from a wonderful corner by Locatelli, headed in beautifully by the Panerial captain. The second goal came just a few minutes later, after a great run from a goal kick. It was 2-0 by half time, and 2-0 it stayed.
We'll be back with all the action from the Tea Cup, so stay tuned to PBS as we see how far Panerialand can go! We'll see you next time!

HEAVY RAINS IN THE TERJUNIAN ISLES WATERLOG LOCAL PITCH

Recently, the Terjunian Isles have been hit by heavy monsoon storms. While flooding during this time is not out of the ordinary, players at semi-professional side Rombanda Rovers were shocked to find that their stadium's pitch had been completely flooded ahead of their clash against Davi Dragons.

The stadium in question is Jernoga Stadium, located on Jernoga. With Jernoga and it's sister island Rombanda amongst the most remote islands in the Terjunian Isles, they have been facing the brunt of the torrent of rain. Several residents in parts of Rombanda and Jernoga have been evacuated due to flooding, so it's perhaps unsurprising that Jernoga Stadium was the one faced with this problem.

Rombanda Rovers defender Alvaro Vargas had this to say: "Yeah the flooding was really bad. It wasn't that late in the evening yet so we still wanted to play before going to the pub, but that pitch was like a bog. It was too difficult to wade in there and the ball couldn't move at all. So we all just went to the pub early."

The Davi Dragons may have been relieved to miss the match, as three of their key players (Gabriel Tendang, Terence and Terja Grimaldi) are currently playing in the Tea Cup tournament. The Tembaga and Terjunia National Team are unexpectedly occupying a 1st position in their group's table, following victories over Sixty-Nine X and Canadian Dominion.

Goals: Lawrence 31’, Zoomtwat 76’

“Excuse me, zurr. I’m moast ’umbly beggin’ your pardon.” Frank Lambert wrang his cap in his grubby hands as he half-bowed obsequiously to Mansfield Frinton-Smith-Upon-Thames, who was lounging insouciantly in the door to the library having just ducked in to check how to spell insouciantly in the dictionary.

“Hmm, yes, well, whatever it is, spit it out man,” said Frinton-Smith, frowning as his blonde whiskers dipped into the cup of tea he was drinking. Tea was the lifeblood of Featherstonehaugh Cholmondeley: ensuring a steady supply of the stuff was half the reason the country had sailed off in search of empire and conquest. Everyone, from impoverished oiks like Lambert, to well-monied gentlemen of leisure like Frinton-Smith, drank tea.

Except for that Zoomtwat fellow, who swore by coffee, of all the damnable things. A jolly odd fellow and no mistake, though not bad at putting in a thumping tackle on the bally old soccer field, wot wot and tootle pip.

“Well zurr, if’n you’ll forgive me, we wuz just ah-wonderin’ if’n it moight be permitted ferr uz to make use of the hot shower in the Gen’ulmen’s changing rooms, only, the ones in the Players’ changing rooms have run-ou’-a ’ot water, zurr.”

“What? Absolutely not. Tosh and nonsense, my dear fellow. Absolute balderdash. Not bloody likely, should I say!”

The inequities of the changing room distributions – with three amateurs (“Gentlemen”) on the team and eight professionals (“Players”), plus another four in reserve – meant that the overcrowded Players’ showers had run out of hot water while great gusts of steam still issued from the showers currently being enjoyed by Algie St. Clair, the team’s captain, but if there was one thing Featherstonehaugh Cholmondeley was built on, it was upholding the class system.

That and tea. If there were two things…

Dejected, Frank bowed and scraped again and trudged back to the Players’ changing rooms (which did not have a library wing attached, nor a Turkish bath, nor a billiards room). There he found Freddie von Schurburg and Jimmy Lawrence, both still caked in mud, in conversation. The two had been the team’s best players over the opening games in TeaFarmers, accounting for five of seven goals between them (Freddie’s best his second against Qasden, a curling strike making use of the fact that the balls at this tournament were not heavy leather lumps soaked in the heavy rain that was characteristic of the weather back home – though where exactly Freddie’s ‘home’ in Featherstonehaugh Cholmondeley was, remained unclear, as he was prone to committing some rather startling geographical errors when making casual enquiries about the locations of munitions bases and airfields).

“…and zo, you are verking at the schipyardz how long?”

“Two bloody years mate,” grumped Jimmy, the crossbar no doubt still ringing from his thunderous volley in the most recent match, against Catalaonia.

“And you are havink acksess to the planz of the, hmm, heavy destroyers and…”

“Nah mate, I was shifting bulk cargo mate. Plans and all that, bit above my pay grade guv.” Jimmy looked up at Frank. “No look with the showers?”

Frank shook his head.

Jimmy phlegmed noisily into his sleeve and patted Freddie on the shoulder.

The blonde man winced and the pronounced duelling scar on his cheek seemed to glow red as he flushed.

After four matches of the inaugural Tea Cup, the Commonwealth of Baker Park find themselves tied atop their group with three victories against a single defeat. The expanded 40 player roster led jointly by Darren Kirby and Tony Weiss have all seen action in at least one of the matches under the split-squad format.

The tournament sees the return of the BPNT to Sonnel, where the host nation TeaFarmers is located; World Cup 86 was the last extended stay the NT had on the planet when it played in Drawkland.

The opener against the Busoga Islands at the Alice Bay Sports Complex in Jamilia marked the seventh all time meeting between the nations, and the Busogans earned their first ever victory in the series with a 3-2 win on matchday 1; the Bees notched the first of their three straight victories over Sannyamathland by a 3-1 scoreline on the second day, with The Gothinita Isles (2-1) and Ziwana (3-2) making up the second week doubleheader.

BP are tied for second in goals scored among the 22 nations competing, with eight players accounting for the offensive output; they will look to continue their current form against the four sides that occupy the third through sixth spots in the table--Hopal, Amenria, regional foes Qasden, and Saterun--in pursuit of one of the top four places advancing to the upper bracket of the championship knockout phase, where a double elimination bracket will determine the overall winner.

A Draw For The Red Lions

By Yuri Popalov

Sandiev celebrates with teammates after scoring Sannyamathland's only goal of the match.

Sannyamathland: 1 - Saterun: 1

Sannyamathland's Tea Cup campaign began on a disappointing note as they drew against Saterun in their opening game of the tournament. Playing in a packed stadium, filled with cheering Lions fans, the Sannyamathland team was determined to get off to a good start. Even the coach had said in the pre-match interview that a win in their first ever match would be vital for the team's moral.

The starting 11 raised a few eyebrows, as Denis Safonov started instead of Dmitry Karjodov, and 20 year old Sergey Tymchenko was included in the sqaud as a replacement for injured Peter Philips. Nevertheless, the Red Lions played aggressive football from the very beginning. Kramnik decided to use a strategy of fast paced football through short passes, an unique strategy that the Red Lions never used earlier. There were a number of failed Sannyamathland attempts at scoring a first half goal. Lev Petrosian's 25th minute power shot hit the crossbar. Mount found the back of the net in the 32nd minute, but it was ruled out due to offside. The Saterun team was unable to mount any serious challenges in the first half, save a corner in the 41st minute, which was swiftly punched away by Safonov.

Things began to change in the second half. Sannyamathland's strategy of fast paced attacking football was dealt by several strong counter attacking measures by the Saterun national team. With the slowing down of its pace of attacks, the Lions lost some of their momentum. Still the match continued to be an exciting battle. It culminated in Ivan Sandiev scoring the first goal of the match in the 57th minute. A beautiful assist from Danil Cheryshyev placed Sandiev in a one to one position with Rahul Markovic, the Saterun goalkeeper. Sandiev made no mistake in converting such a beautiful attempt into a goal. The fans erupted in cheer and it appeared that the Red Lions will win the match. But conceding a goal almost changed Saterun's entire strategy. They pushed for more daring football, with several of their defenders abandoning their defense to join the midfielders in mounting a series of attempts at attack. Finally the Sannyamathland defense proved to unable to successfully counter such frequent attacks. Mitzinho was pulled down inside the penalty box by Mikhail Karpov in the 70th minute. Saterun skipper Kaka Sarabola scored an easy goal from the penalty to level the scoreline.

Kramnik introduced a series of substitutions in the last moments of the game to change the scoreline but all of that went in vain. The match ended in a draw. The scoreline puts the Red Lions in a difficult position. Kramnik, in the post match interview, said: " The scoreline isn't really the one we were anticipating. No doubt a draw is far far better than a loss, but it does puts the team in a difficult position." The Red Lions will surely be looking forward to winning the next match to improve their position in the table.

Since this the first match in the tournament that I've RPed, I am ICly considering this to be the first match that Sannyamathland played in the tournament. Other people, of course, are not required to consider this. This is just for my own RP purposes.

No longer am a Communist. Definetely not a democratic socialist or liberal. My political views atm are pretty weird and messed up. Deal with it.
