Introduction

This is the official signup thread for the Campionato Esportiva 34, Esportiva's longest running and biggest sports tournament. This football tournament has produced 17 different winners, with Nephara/New Sideburn and Brenecia holding the record for the most Campionato titles with five apiece, and Apox having three titles to their name. The most recent winner of the tournament held in Zeta Reka & Hugeltaldom was Tumbra, winning their second title against the hosts.

Signup Instructions

All nations that are in the region of Esportiva may enter. Nations will be accepted provided that they remain in Esportiva from their sign-up to the end of their participation in the competition, which means that a nation is allowed to move into the region halfway through signups and still sign up. However, participants cannot have participated in the draw of another regional (AOCAF Cup, Copa Rushmori, Independent Associations Championship, CMFA Mandalanusa Cup, CAFA LigAnaia) for the current cycle. Nations who leave Esportiva or CTE after signups are closed will be treated as withdrawn nations, with the protocol for withdrawn nations applying suit.

Ultimately, however, the decision on who participates will be up to the elected host of the tournament.

Second-time and after users are entitled to enter two nations, with one on puppet status which should be declared and confirmed by both nations. Kindly note that puppet signups may be purged from the entry list as per hosts' discretion, and normally the first puppets to be dropped are the ones signed up the latest. Nations entering with a different in-character (IC) name should include this in boldface in their signup to be recognized.

Hosting

Signed-up nations who intend to host the tournament should post their bids in this thread to be considered for voting. There is no prescribed number of users to host, though usually solo or joint host bids from two distinct users have been the norm for these kinds of tournaments. Bids posted should have the following information: How the tournament will be run (format), how the scores will be generated (scorination tool and parameters), and why should participants entrust you to run the tournament (OOC information and experience). The previous successful bid for the tournament is posted in the header for reference.

Bids will be opened by the time signups are open and will remain open within two weeks from opening the signup thread. Once the first bid is posted, other nations are given 5 days to submit competing bids. Voting will begin after and last for 3 days.

In case no bids are posted within two weeks, the CE committee may put up an emergency bid within the week succeeding the two-week period, which may be withdrawn once a proper bid is posted.

Other Information

This thread may be used in lieu of the regional message board (RMB) for CE34-related discussions, and will serve as the discussion thread upon closure of signups.

The organisers of this tournament reserve the right to make adjustments to the admin side of the tournament in case needed. Should you have any queries, don't hesitate to ask Tumbra via the usual channels (TG, RMB, and the NS Sports Discord channel).

South Newlandian Bid for Campionato Esportiva 34

Six (IC) years after the first Esportivan Sporting Festival, South Newlandian sports organisers are back on their bullshit vying to repeat the success of the first one. Like with the CE31 bid, this bid proposes a special Campionato Esportiva, where on top of the usual football tournament, South Newlandia will host additional sports! Instead of already locking all of those in, this time, South Newlandia will give fans from around the region some input on what sports should be included (details to follow).

IC info:
South Newlandia is a small island in Esportiva located to the east of Super-Llamaland, and has about four million inhabitants, making it one of the smallest Esportivan countries. Football is the second-most popular sport in the country, and South Newlandia has qualified for three World Cups and won one Campionato Esportiva in their history. They are experienced football hosts, too, with one World Cup and two CEs under their belt. In general, South Newlandia is used to hosting all kinds of tournaments, including much bigger ones, and most visitors will find the country to be friendly and inviting.

Format:
Due to the complexity of the bid, I cannot currently go into detail about formats for all sports; however, I can guarantee that there will be no more than 9 total matchdays. The Campionato Esportiva final will stand alone on the final day, with the finals for the other sports on the cutoff before that.
For the Campionato Esportiva, a single round robin and a single-elimination bracket will be used.

Scorination:
All sports will be scorinated using xkoranate. For football, NSFS and xkor modifiers will be used. The remaining sports are planned to be hosted with their respective up-to-date formulas.

So, how is this going to work:
If you’re only interested in a regular Campionato Esportiva and no other sports, that is perfectly possible. Should this bid win, I will extend the signup period a few days for people to sign up for additional sports. You can also sign up for some sports and not participate in football. Everything is possible on that front. You can see Campionato Esportiva 31 as an example for how things shook out; should this bid win, this should end up similar.

Roleplays:
All Roleplays will count for all the sports you participate in, regardless of them being mentioned, with one exception: You will only be able have your RP Bonus counted for a sport if you also rostered for that sport. It’s possible to put multiple rosters in the same post. Rosters will also be counted as Bonus for the sport they’re for.

Rankings:
While the regular CE ranks will be used as usual, for the other sports, rankings (where applicable) will be used (as far as they’re available) – however, those will be heavily watered down. I haven’t decided on exact figures yet, but the highest ranked team in each sport will get less than 3 MD’s of full bonus as their ranking.

Hosting experience:
In football, I have hosted World Cup 89 (w/ Tikariot), Campionato Esportivas 28 and 31, and I have been scorinating the CEdC with The Grearish Union for the past few editions. I have also co-hosted various events in other sports, including a WBC, a WB, and an IBC, among others.

Keep in mind that it is entirely possible that all of this will have to be discarded if my bid does not end up being selected,

but, in the interest of time, I would still like to move things along just in case it is selected.

If you would be interested in participating in some of the additional sports, please send me a telegram with some of your suggestions! I will be looking for suggestions until the bidding starts.

Please only suggest sports you would actually participate in were they to be included. I would also like to limit things to team sports (although relays, even where they wouldn’t happen in rl, are possible). You also do not need to suggest baseball and football/soccer, as both of those will definitely be covered. I look forward to your suggestions!
