PRESIDENT ON INTERNATIONAL ASSIGNMENT; GATORNET GOES GLOBAL; CASTILLIAN FEDERATION PRESIDENT ASSASSINATED

President Mileethus Canisilus appeared in Gyzantia two days ago on October 11th, according to Vice-President Johnson and Anagonian National News reports. Pictures have been seen of the President negotiating with the Kingdom of Sombreland Royal Marines for the release of Dragon Fire Company of the Confederate States Marine Corps. Negotiations were reported as successful and tensions in Gyzantia have since lowered due to the start of a peace conference. It is believed by military analysts that the appearance of President Canisilus spurred on other parties to begin peace negotiations and has since been credited domestically with this achievement.

"The President is safe and preforming his duties of office presently," reported Commodore Leanna Crawford, Naval Supreme Commander in the Gyzantian Theater of Operations. "I cannot go into specifics, but I can however state that he is assisting with peace negotiations."

News of a visible end to the Gyzantian Civil War has sent ripples of joy across Anagonia. Recently, several thousands families were separated when the nation rose its DEFCON level to bring service-members to active duty. Despite major complaints, many of the families relented as they expressed understanding at the Anagonian humanitarian commitment in the Gyzantian TOA. Still, the deployment of active duty personnel and assets did not go completely unchallenged in the halls of the government.

"It is absolutely insane that the Confederate States continues to be dragged into these situations to fix the grave errors of the Kalisight Treaty Organization," argued Grand Senator Elmer Marsh, representative head of the Common Action League of Anagonia Party in the Grand Senate. "We must, at once, undo our ties with the absolute bafoons of that twisted and downright evil alliance or mark my words! Mark my words! We will be brought asunder by their utter stupidity!"

Sentiments similar to the Grand Senators have been expressed intensely by Anagonians, though the sentiments - for now - remain in the minority.

GATORnet Incorporated, the majority corporation holding most of the nations social media and telecommunications platforms, announced today the launch of GATORnet v0.5a. The recent update is separate from GATORnet v0.4.9b in that it enables global communication for current and newly joined GATORnet users. GATORnet CEO Jason Hushkins had this to say in the announcement.

"GATORnet Incorporated feels that its systems are now compatible and able to adapt appropriately to the global internet and telecommunications network. For several decades we have evolved and adapted the GATOR OS and GATORnet systems by utilizing and improving the Confederate Military GATOR PDA systems. Thanks to us, the Confederate Military enjoys an almost seamless global communications network that allows them to be in constant contact with all assets utilizing our unique technology. We have adapted our improvements and understandings to the domestic version of GATORnet, which primarily operates as a social media platform you know and love. I'll briefly go over the changes.

Version 0.5 alpha is the newest addition to the GATORnet Network and Operating Systems and enables GATORnet the permissions necessary to handshake with the global communications network - on the civilian side. Domestic users of GATORnet - which means you and me as Anagonians - will be able to access this separate platform of GATORnet via a new feature in your settings bar to checkmark if you wish for international GATORnet messages. Your ID chip must register you as above the age of 18 to enable this feature, otherwise its turned off. This is another critical reason why we have begun to split the development of GATORnet into two updates. We feel that enabling the domestic portion access to the global network will severely compromise government security protocols in place and potentially jeopardize citizens private securities.

Once an Anagonian checks the mark to enable International messages, they will still operate under version 0.4.9b, however the handshake between version 0.5a and 0.4.9b will enable simple transfers and responses of messages as necessary. President John S. Faring, the 4th President of the Castillian Federation, has died today on October 13th due to a successful assassination attempt by reportedly disgruntled terrorist elements. He leaves behind a wife and three children due to the tragic event. Vice President Harvey Hershey was sworn in as the 5th President of the Castillian Federation by federal judge while on a presidential plane. The Castillian Federation presently has an active Mutual Friendship Treaty with the Confederate States as well as various other treaties that benefit economic cooperation. Vice President Franklin Johnson had these remarks on the tragic death of President Faring in a press conference today.

"Hearing of the loss of a national leader is never easy in my line of service," Vice President Johnson said in a press conference today. "We must remember that President Faring was a normal person, like you or I. He had a wife, three kids, and left behind an excellent reputation with his efforts to establish positive relations between his Federation and our Confederacy. I have personally gone to see Ambassador Extraordinaire Cate Ploussaint at the Castillian Embassy here in Liberty. I went to check up on the Ambassador and offer anything they should require during this difficult time. I am of the understanding that President Canisilius has already extended the very same sentiments to the Federation government personally earlier, that we stand ready to assist should they require it. We have already established a deep and beneficial friendship with our friends in the Federation, and we all mourn the loss of their leader during this time."

National Flags have been ordered to half-mast for a period of 48 hours, as ordered by the Vice President, to express a period of mourning with the Castillian Federation.

"We stand ready to assist the Federation for anything they should require," the Vice President affirmed when asked if the Confederate States would commit military forces to tackle any possible terrorist threat the Federation couldn't handle. "I am to believe at present they have properly addressed the incident, but if we are to find out they require any level of assistance, Anagonia stands ready to assist to its friend and compatriot in the Federation."

OBITUARY: COLONEL ALEXANDER PETERSON (42 AUR - 106 AUR)

Colonel Alexander Peterson, born in the State of Liberty on February 12th, 42 AUR to Jack and Allison Peterson, died yesterday on Monday, October 17th, 106 AUR. He is survived by his son, James Peterson, currently serving in the Confederate States Military Police as a Trooper, and his wife, Allison Peterson, who is currently serving as a Medical Nurse in the Confederate States Navy. Colonel Peterson volunteered for the Confederate States Marine Corps upon his mandatory required term at the age of 18. Five years ago, Colonel Peterson switched services to the Military Police to be closer to his son and family. He joined the Confederate States Diplomatic Corps and was assigned as the primary Ambassador of Anagonia to the KTO. His death is being reported by the Marine Corps as, "accident due to work related dangers".

Alexander enjoyed many hobbies including spending time with his son playing video games and helping him create applications for ConfedPDA. He typically spent his off time writing or contributing to local news sources. He was a dedicated family man, attempting to place the needs of his family above his work. He was five years away from retirement from the Confederate Military.

The funeral for Colonel Alexander Peterson is expected to be held at Liberty National Military Cemetery. He will be buried with full honors from both the Confederate States Military Police and the Confederate States Marine Corps. MILITARY POLICE CALLED TO PEACEKEEP FOREIGN ALLY

General of the Confederate States Military Police, General Esteban Duke, announced today that the Confederate States Military has tasked his branch of the military with responding to the Livonian Crisis. Livonian authorities earlier today requested the assistance of the Confederacy in response to violent riots inside their country. In response, the Chief Admiral Dave Evans utilized the nearby forces sent to Gyzantia to respond to the crisis in Livonia. All 5,000 CSMP's assigned to the Gyzantian Theater of Operations have been redirected to Livonia, utilizing the already established air bases in Gyzantia and the air transports to arrive. General Esteban Duke had this to say.

"I have assigned the Templar and Stormtrooper Divisions assigned to the Gyzantia TOA to redirect their forces and assigned assets to Livonia in response to the request for help. Both divisions should arrive within two days."

The Templar and Stormtrooper Divisions of the CSMP are comprised almost entirely of reservists who were called into service at the start of the escalation to the Gyzantian conflict. Their reassignment spells more time on duty than initially expected, with waiting families back home in Anagonia given the hard news about loss of time with family members. General Duke has refused to comment further on the situation.

DEFCON TWO AUTHORIZED - NATION ON HIGH ALERT FOR POSSIBLE WAR; MILITARY POLICE ARRIVE TO LIVONIA

President Mileethus Canisilus addressed the nation in an emergency press briefing today to announce that the Confederate States has elevated its Defense Condition from Three to Two. This is the highest peacetime state possible for military deployments, next to all-out war which is classified under DEFCON one. Under DEFCON two, the nation has entered a state of General Mobilization and all reservists are considered active duty with all active duty personnel on high alert readiness status. All branches of the military are to be fully utilized and the nation is now preparing for a possible all-out-war scenerio. DEFCON two also raises the alert readiness status of the nations nuclear deterrent force, from prepared to active and waiting. In the emergency press briefing, the President also announced that the Continuity of Government Readiness Condition System (or COGCON) status was raised by the Confederate Military from COGCON three to COGCON two, which further protects the line of continuity for the government of Anagonia.

"It has come to my attention through private military and intelligence briefings that information from our allies in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Yitanka has given us credible evidence and justification of a possible incident near the entrance to Kotzebue Sound, off the coast of Alaska in the Chukchi Sea to which has prompted the raise the national Defense Condition in preparation for possible hostilities. While I cannot, at this time, go into further detail I will state that we believe there is a justified and realized threat to Anagonian continuity and interests that warrant an elevated mobilization status to our armed forces. All able-bodied citizens should check in with their duty-call status if they have not already been summoned to active duty. Reservists are encouraged to make necessary preparations for your employer. Most reservists, if operating in a profession considered essential to the functioning of the economy, are encouraged to report their status for active-duty pay. I will be giving out more information when I am able. At this time, I encourage the nation to prepare for a possible war scenario."

Chief General Maximus Leddicus made his formal appearance as head of the Department of National Defense and Chief General of the Confederate States Armed Forces before the nation at the emergency press briefing following the announcement from President Canisilus. His appointment was only a few days prior to the briefing, following nearly over a year of heavy vetting on behalf of the Confederate Military and the Government as they sought to replace the vacancies left by the deaths of Chief General's Elliot Armstrong and Titus Bond. Chief General Leddicus, a natural-born Komodren citizen, is a veteran of both the Confederate States Army and Confederate States Marine Corps. Serving for well over fifty years, his appointment was hotly contested as the Military awaited Chief Admiral Dave Evan's acceptance of the position. Persistent refusals to both the Military and the Presidents requests for Chief Admiral Evan's appointment led to a final decision on Sunday evening for Chief General Leddicus to take the role.

The appointment of Chief General Leddicus to the status as highest non-human military official in the nation was joined by addition of the first Chinese-Anagonian as the second-highest official, that of Chief General Robert Chin. Chief General Chin is a thirty-year veteran of the Confederate States Air Force and was already established as the best possible candidate along with Chief General Leddicus, following the final refusal of Chief Admiral Evans to assume the role asked of him. Chief General Chin has assumed the role as head of the Council of the States, previously assumed by the now-deceased Chief General Titus Bond, and Chief Admiral Evans continues his role as head of the Confederate States Joint Department of Progress. Chief General Leddicus's role as Chief General of the Confederate States Armed Forces and head of the Department of National Defense was once led by the now-deceased Chief General Elliot Armstrong. In a separate press announcement on Sunday both Chief General Leddicus and Chin promised to do their utmost to honor their roles in memory of those who held them before their appointment.

Chief Admiral Evan's remains the nations third highest military official and sixth in the line of secession in the event of a crisis. Chief General Leddicus assumes the role as first in the line of military officials and third in the line of secession. Chief General Chin assumes the role as second in line of military officials and fourth in line of secession.

"As the President stated, the national defense condition has been raised to DEFCON two," Chief General Leddicus announced during the emergency press briefing earlier today. "I have also authorized the COGCON system to be raised to level two in preparation for a possible war scenario. I have consulted with my peers, both Chief Admiral Evans and Chief General Chin, on the appropriate measures to be undertaken during this time. We have determined that general mobilization is in order and that the Confederate Navy will begin further formations of permanent fleets, as appropriate, to extend our national influence where necessary. At this time I reemphasize what the President has stated in encouraging all citizens to make the appropriate preparations and to be on alert for your summons to active duty."

General of the Confederate States Military Police, General Esteban Duke, announced after the emergency press briefing on earlier today that his Military Policemen have reached the nation of Livonia. Several military transport aircraft have already begun landings at several of the nations prominent airfields, as well as military installations, and assets are being actively unloaded including ground transports, air assets and helicopters, and Light Armored Vehicles.

"The Military Police is working very closely with the Livonian Military Authority to ensure a proper, appropriate, and peaceful response to the crisis that is developing in their country. Our Military Police are being supplied with medical kits, humanitarian supplies, and other friendly essentials to hand out as appropriate to Livonian citizens. I have also authorized all Military Policemen to utilize non-lethal, non-permanent rounds to pacify aggressive protests where appropriate and if requested by the Livonian authorities. We are still actively unloading troops and supplies and as such are still in the beginning phases of our active deployment into their country."

It is unclear whether the raise of the Defense Condition today was prompted by the developing crisis in Livonia or other issues, as described by the President. Military analysts from various news sources have speculated that there is something else developing on the world stage that is, at present, still clandestine possibly to avoid an all-out war.

CRISIS IN LIVONIA: MILITARY POLICE BRING ORDER?

Lieutenant Colonel Paris Rice of Templar Division and Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Carver of Stormtrooper Division were both visible in news reels earlier this evening from the unfolding situation in Livonia. Walking alongside a M2109 Light Logistics Vehicle, Lt. Colonel Rice was the first visible command authority figure from Anagonia. Behind her were several Military Policemen, all reservists of the Templar Division of the Confederate States Military Police. The division conducted what was later clarified by General of the Confederate States Military Police, General Esteban Duke, as a "routine patrol". Another news reel, taken a few cities away from where the Templar Division was, showed Lt. Colonel Carver and his Stromtrooper Division as they rode in LUV-80 Light Utility Vehicles on their patrol. Visible boots where on the ground in each reel, comprised mainly of squad formations.

Overhead in a few shots were OH-58F Kiowa Warrior Helicopters in formations of two or three with visible Military Policemen along the side as they flew low and on patrol. A few of the OH-58F's in the reels could be seen chasing vehicles on the ground for routine stops or supporting ground convoys of LUV-80's.

"As of right now," Lt. Colonel Rice said as she was interviewed by a reporter from a Livonian News Network later broadcasted to Anagonian National News, "The situation in Livonia is quiet and under control. We are actively handing out meal and water packets to citizens who request it and are supporting local civil protection authorities in their nightly rounds. Please continue to cooperate with the imposed curfew for the safety of yourselves and my Military Policemen. Thank you."

Most of the other news reel pieces featuring the Confederate States Military Police in Livonia were either snippets for local news pieces or brief glimpses at Military Policemen handing out water, food, or aid packets. The situation remains still in development and is being actively monitored by the Confederate States Military.

FIRST MP DEATH IN LIVONIA

General of the Confederate States Military Police, General Esteban Duke, announced today the first death of an Anagonian Military Policeman on patrol in Livonia in the city of Tekov, a notable Estonian Semi-Autonomous Zone in the embroiled nation. Lance Corporal Gokmen Lodhra, a 52 year old native of Pakistan who later immigrated to Anagonia seeking asylum from wars and conflict and became a natural citizen of the Confederacy, was killed when an unmarked civilian vehicle passed by his squad on patrol and a brick was thrown and impacted the back of his neck. The brick, estimated by investigators to be around five pounds, was said to have been thrown at "impossible speeds" from the passing vehicle. Several individuals threw bricks and only a few struck Lance Corporal Lodra's squad, with the final brick hitting him on the back of the neck during the process of retreating from the conflict per instructions. Gokmen was expected to retire from the Confederate States Military Police next year. Gokmen Lodhra leaves behind a wife, Saara Lodhra (48), and a daughter and son ages 18 and 17.

"I was informed about the death of Lance Corporal Lodhra earlier this morning," reported Lieutenant Colonel Paris Rice of Templar Division of which Gokmen was a member of, "and I am profoundly saddened. Lodhra was nicknamed the 'Grandfather' of his men and company. He was an inspiring leader, full of wisdom and care, and always looked out for his men. In the video feed that shows his death, Lance Corporal Lodhra can clearly be seen shielding his men as they escape the hostile action per their humanitarian orders. He will posthumously awarded the Star of Melkos for his sacrifice and bravery. His family will also be tended to in accordance to his will and his expected retirement pension, paid in full to his wife and children."

The President briefly addressed the death of Lance Corporal Lodhra in a press interview today.

"I have seen the reports of the death of Military Policeman Lodhra and I am extremely saddened. I have personally called the family and addressed the nations condolences. Furthermore, I have taken the necessary steps to address the concerns of the family for our Military Policemen in Livonia."

During the same press interview, Chief General Maximus Leddicus, Chief General of the Confederate States Armed Forces, addressed questions concerning the incident and provided the Military's retaliation policy moving forward.

"The death of one of our brothers is intolerable. Therefore, I have authorized General Esteban Duke to allow our Military Policemen the use of non-lethal force when encountering hostilities. I have further authorized that if hostilities escalate, all Military Policemen will be authorized to use lethal rounds to protect themselves and their battle buddies. We will not tolerate another Anagonian death. Further incidents to our forces will prompt escalation of military involvement in Livonia."

DEFCON STATUS LOWERED; FLEETS REASSIGNED

President Mileethus Canisilus announced today that he has ordered the Military to stand down its DEFCON status to DEFCON 3. Following the Treaty Hatrus which ended hostilities in Gyzantia and its Civil War by forming a representative Constitutional Monarchy, of which the President himself personally attended and signed, and which also granted the Confederate Military permanent leasing ownership of its two airbases in Gyzantia, the only crisis facing the Confederacy is its current involvement in Livonia. Livonia, a KTO ally, is currently undergoing a national crisis. Already, one Anagonian Military Policeman has lost their life in an effort to restore order. The Military has since authorized extended non-lethal retaliation to hostilities and lethal rounds for self-defense situations.

The President also announced that the majority of fleets will be departing Gyzantia within the week to return home or be reassigned. Chief Admiral Dave Evans commented on this during a press briefing late in the day.

"The President has ordered that the majority of fleets in or around Gyzantia be returned home or be brought to other areas of interest. I cannot state at this time what fleets we will send to Livonisa, but we are assessing the strategic needs of our forces on the ground with the possibility of a single carrier group in the area for support. At this time, I will not comment further."

The Confederate Navy utilizes several fleets that it can call upon at a moments notice to handle situations internationally. Currently, the Confederacy has formed twelve carrier, light carrier, or LHD battle or humanitarian carrier fleets. Only one fleet is specifically formed around a super battleship, with more fleets expected soon to support this singular battleship fleet.

TYPHOON FEDOR TO STRIKE GYZANTIA

Chief General Robert Chin, Chief of the Council of the States, announced today in a brief press interview that Naval Peacekeeping Force Anagonia commanded by Commodore Bogdan Rabinoff and Naval Task Force Exeter commanded by Captain Chapayev Leonidovich were to redirect their patrols outward of Gyzantia pending the approach of Typhoon Fedor. Chief General Chin remarked that the Confederate Military forces stationed around Gyzantia, commanded overall by Commodore Rabinoff, was preparing themselves for a possibly devastating storm.

"Commodore Rabinoff of Naval Peacekeeping Force Anagonia, and overall commander of our permanent forces in Gyzantia, is working closely with the Gyzantian Federation and authorities. Humanitarian aid is being shipped in to bolster what supplies remain following the end of the Gyzangtian Civil War. Once Typhoon Fedor dissapates to non-threatening conditions, the Anagonian forces stationed in and around Gyzantia will move out to provide immediate assistance."

CONFEDERATE MILITAERY INCREASING INVOLVEMENT IN LIVONIA

General of the Confederate States Military Police, General Esteban Duke, announced today that the Confederate States Military Police has been authorized by the Chief General of the Confederate States Armed Forces to increase it presence in Livonia following the death of Lance Corporal Gokmen Lodhra. General Esteban Duke conducted a press briefing today to update the situation.

"At this time, I have been authorized to bolster the MP's on the ground to adequate assume control of Livonian affairs. We are currently working with the Livonian government to satisfy any necessary diplomatic issues, however if all else fails, we will directly intervene."

Chief Admiral Dave Evans announced today that Naval Battle Fleet Forest Holloway is en-route towards the Romanic Imperium to provide Humanitarian and Peacekeeping assistance where needed.

"Due to the increasing concerns of fellow KTO member-states being active in the region, I have decided to reform Naval Battle Fleet Forest Holloway to better include capabilities to assist humanitarian and peacekeeping operations," the Chief Admiral stated in a brief press statement today. "We do not intend to become involved in the wars thereof but will keep a close eye to ensure our presence is known and assured so that civilian casualties are kept to a minimum."

Just last week the President announced in a live televised interview on Good Evening Anagonia that he was "Slightly Concerned" with the readiness of the KTO to escalate to violence without context or attempt at general diplomacy. It has been assumed by domestic news networks that the Anagonian government is slowly becoming increasingly alienated by its KTO allies. Reports of this, however, were downplayed by the Chief Admiral.

"Concerning the diplomatic affairs between the KTO and the Confederate States, I can assure you we have never been closer. One of our own has possibly been chosen for a very prestigous position in the Alliance. Our commitment to the KTO and to the general defense of its member-states remains stalwart and resolute. Regardless if we participate in offensive engagements or not, Anagonia will stand by its allies till all options - every last option - is utilized effectively."

ANAGONIAN FORCES PROVIDE AID FOLLOWING TYPHOON FEDOR IN GYZANTIA

Chief General Robert Chin, Chief of the Council of the States, announced today in a brief press interview that the Anagonian forces in Gyzantia commanded by Commodore Bogdan Rabinoff are actively supporting humanitarian and recovery efforts following Typhoon Fedor.

"I am pleased to report that Anagonian forces have been among the first on the ground to provide aid and relief to areas hardest hit by Typhoon Fedor. Thanks to our two military bases in Gyzantia and our fleets off shore, we are able to organize a substantial relief effort. As of right now, our forces are concentrating on tending to casualties and providing aid to where it is needed most."

The Confederate States maintain both its Forward Humanitarian Bases in Gyzantia after the end of the Civil War, thanks in part to additions to the peace agreement that permitted Anagonian bases to be retained. Confederate Forces within these bases were the first boots on the ground after conditions permitted rescue and aid operations.

"As of right now," added Chief General Chin during the press conference, "our forces in Gyzantia are entirely focused on providing this aid as well as supporting other international efforts that are forthcoming."
