Gyzantian Civil War (MT)(IC)(Closed)

Postby Gyzantia » Fri Sep 23, 2022 3:48 am

--- September 15, 2022 ---

The nation of Gyzantia begins to decline into chaos and division as a civil war is about to occur in what was called the "bastion of freedom". This came to action after protests against the Technocratic Council's corrupt activities and failed economic plans by the Technate. Some failed economic plans and agricultural modernization plans failing due to delay and buying faulty and decade-old equipment has caused tax money being wasted, farmers losing money and time, decline in harvests, and a crisis is set in full motion. To add to this problem, the agricultural regions, or the Eastern Provinces, have begun distancing themselves from the government. Declining orders from the Technate to send crops to the cities and ambushes of food trucks going to the west have caused Simon Herzland to declare martial law.

During the celebration of the launch of the Destiny 1, King Issia IV and his son went to the beach near the launch site, when Augred B. Uretch, a farmer from the East, pulled out his revolver, and fired two shots, one shot hitting the King's shoulder and the other hitting the Prince's chest. Three hours after the assassination attempt, the Prince died in the hospital, succumbing to his wounds. Augred was arrested and soon sentenced to prison. While the nation underwent its mourning period, the Eastern Provinces were burning royal portraits and that of Simon Herzland, and ten days after the assassination, the Socialist Republic of Gyzantia declared its independence from Gyzantia. With the chaos, the Republic of Colstrea declared its independence from Gyzantia.

Factions in the Civil War

Technate of Gyzantia
- Focused on improving the nation to stand together with the powers, it has succeeded in doing so, but recent failures have dominoed and the collapse of the nation into civil war has begun. Led by Simon Herzland, the Royal Family, and the Technocratic Council. With some of their military forces and equipment stuck behind enemy lines, they have struggles supplying local militia with weapons and equipment. They are also suffering from food shortages, only worsened by the civi war.

Supported by:
Grecian People's Empire of Helakos
The Kingdom of Sombreland
United States of America
The Soveinian City-State of Soveiniesberg
The Constitutional Monarchy of Novia

Socialist Republic of Gyzantia
- The party was formed after the First Fraconian War, and since then, it has only been given a little chance to voice out their opinions and concerns in the Parliament, and soon, the Technocratic Council. Most militia consists of farmers and workers that take up arms against the Technate. Surprisingly has no issue with food, and weapons, possibly due to external nations aiding their revolution.

Supported by:
Republic Federal Vinsegrad
Socialist Federation of Saralonia
Janpian Union of Revolutionary States - Operation Galungong

Republic of Colstrea
- Once Gyzantian territory that was sold to the Deronian Republic, then declaring indenpendece, reuniting with Gyzantia, and even after giving them autonomy, they have declared to free themselves after being exploited by state-owned companies ravaging their natural resources, mountains, and forests. Have enough weapons and equipment to equip themselves after Gyzantian soldiers in a foregin civil war desert from the Gyzantian Army to the cause.

The first craft to arrive was the invasion force, a group of ships moving supplies and equipment to support the republic, followed by the carrier task force, ready to operate. Jet bombers are pushed to the area, while AWACS is flying off the deck of Junta, fast transports moving tanks and defense systems rapidly to shore, infantry moving with armor as gear was unloaded. A massed operation, moving like clockwork, as Laura Ortiz had contacted the Republic prior to allow for such an operation. They were to be treated like their own men, moving with them, supporting them, as things were falling into place.

Yet, this was only adding to the Republic's own armed forces, Gonswanza deciding to support their cause, while curious onlookers would attempt to grab photos of the scene. A massed rush of men and vehicles, delivered to beaches, so as to free up ports for coming allies.

Already, the war was going to start off strong, though it would still take time for them to reach the frontlines, as the Gonswanzan military units attempt to mesh into the Republican military itself.
Praise our glorious leader Laura Ortiz!

Already, the war was going to start off strong, though it would still take time for them to reach the frontlines, as the Gonswanzan military units attempt to mesh into the Republican military itself.

The leader of the Republic, Peter Hess immediately sends a radio message in a private line to the Gonswanza government for the massive support to their independence. He also vows to return the favor, if they ever achieve true independence.

At the beaches on Northern Colstrea, people that anticipated the arrival of the Gonswanzan troops, greeted them with smiles and cheers. Comparing the quality of equipment of the Gonswanzans and the Colstreans was like comparing a walkie-talkie to a phone, with the militia using bolt-action rifles and old submachine guns from the 1930s. Most of the militia now find victory "possible".

--- City of Assora ---
Massive gunfire between the Technate troops and the Socialist revolutionaries occurred on the city streets. Tanks from both sides are fighting on the outskirts of the city, with a recent tank battle causing the defeat of the Technate's tank forces in the city. Artillery shells are raining in the city, after "most" of the civilians were evacuated. Some residents created a defense force, joining the Technate with fighting against their enemy.

Up in the skies of the cities, felt like a movie. AA fire from both sides shine in the sky, with jets and monoplanes fighting each other. Most monoplanes from the Wars of Honor were reactivated by the Socialists, after most jets immediately flew away to Technate runways.

In Sombreland, Grand Admiral Teroth was known as a man of vigorous energy. He was a middle aged man who always seemed to have the energy of a young man in his twenties, and was known to be able to endure hardship. He had once, with the crew of a sunken corvette, been in the sea for 12 hours, keeping the men's spirits up with organizing them, with planning, and keeping them busy. It was reputed that he had fought bitterly to keep one of the sailors from being eaten by sharks, forming up a group of the men, kicking and jabbing at their faces until they withdrew. On the other hand, he was a controversial figure in court, and hated as a defender of Monarchy and privilege by the Thonite minority.

It was his idea to align with the Technate, and to try to help the shaky authority there, as one monarchy to another. The Princess-Regent, who was new to her state, was persuaded to support the policy to test the new military equipment and training. Grand Duke Pofolman, the Chancellor, and Prince Shalayew Kadav, who was not only Minister of the Left but also Minister of Death, had agreed to reach out to Technate, and they persuaded the Director of Foreign Relations to write a letter.

Your Excellency,

Our country has followed the troubles yours is facing, and we are worried about the spread of dangerous beliefs that threaten traditional forms of authority and governance. We would like to go into closer relations with your country, and to help you in your hour of need.

If it is acceptable to you, we would like to offer the support of our light carrier fleet and a division of Royal Marines, to give you a military advantage. In return, we would like to have a bilateral treaty with your country that will bind us as allies and trading partners. If this is acceptable, we will be hopeful of great things to come.

Sincerely,

Gyzantia Security Liberation Army

Postby Federal pf vinsegrad » Sat Sep 24, 2022 5:16 am

The government and the NLAFV (National Liberation Army) have started sending weapons to the Socialist Republic of Gyzantia, specifically the Kurthia area for docking operations. At the same time the government secretly also sent its troops to the conflict area under the name of the Gyzantia Security Liberation Army, this created very favorable conditions for both countries to achieve victory in this bloody conflict.

The Head of Technate, Simon Herzland, receives the letter, brought by his staff. After reading its content, he immediately phoned the King Issia's staff and make an request to schedule a meeting with the King immediately, to which they agreed to. He went ahead, wore his shoes, and entered the V.I.P Car, together with multiple security vehicles, to the Palace. He entered, running to the King's room.

He was greeted by the King, and Herzland greeted him as well. Issia and Herzland then began talking like friends, as they were like when they were children. Realizing he was drifting away from his intended purpose for the visit, he then began talking in a formal matter, about the letter of support from Sombreland. King Issia then ordered Herzland to create a reply to the letter.

Title: Response to Sombreland's Support

Your Royal Higness,

In behalf of the King, and of our nation, we thank you and your nation's support to defend the legitimate government in this ongoing conflict. Your fleet and soldiers will be welcomed in your arrival. We will also accept a bilateral treaty, to strengthen this newly-found relationship of both our nations.

Sincerely,
Simon Herzland, Head of Technate

The Socialists thanks the Vinsegrad's Government and the National Liberation Army for the lend-lease in this conflict. The Port in Kurthia will be freed of other vessels to give way for weapons and the Gyzantia Security Liberation Army. Glory to the Revolution!

In Sombreland, the Royal Marine Division had been training with their new equipment and armaments for a few weeks. Officers had been submitting reports to the effect that, in contradiction with their oaths of allegiance and devotion, Marines had been injured or were dying simply because they did not know how to use some of the techniques or equipment properly.. For example, Marine Arred had failed to deploy from a helicopter properly, missing his grip on the rope, and had fallen, breaking his back and halting the exercise. The Marine had, of course, gasped out his shame at his failure and had begged that his family not be blamed, and the platoon commander had been forced to say, in his report, that the wind was to blame. This drew a halt to the training exercises for the entire company, as an Oracle was summoned to talk to the wind and beg it to be harmonious. And there had been many such incidents. An AAV borne Marine company had landed at the wrong beach during exercises, frightening a collection of schoolgirls who were picnicking and looking for shells and fragments of coral. The new "doggy bag" rations were certainly more compact that the boxes filled with little cans of meat, fruit, vegetables, and oatmeal that the Marines normally carried, but several units had come down with the runs and some had even been found squatting and defecating behind latrines that were lined up for.

And that was only the Royal Marines. The Navy and Air Force probably had some of the best people in the military, being forced to go overseas and train with foreigners to understand equipment and tactics, but familiarizing themselves with the particulars of the new equipment was very challenging. They had to adjust to new software and its peculiarities; they found, in particular, that they had to adjust communications between crews and between vessels, ironically because the "smart table" was far simpler and faster than what they were used to.

The pronouncement from Rear-Admiral Dargon, the commander of the fleet element that had been selected to go, was not promising. He reported to Grand Admiral Teroth that "We are not ready for this. I would estimate that the fleet element will be ready for a smaller operation in perhaps six months." This was, however, not confirmed by the Royal Marines' commander, Major-General Prince Junus. "The Royal Marines are always ready. How could it be otherwise? For they have sworn their oaths. They are all either officers of the best birth, or else common born members of the Military Caste. It is not the equipment and gear that matters, but their devotion to the King, and through His Blessed Majesty, His appointed Regent."

Admiral Dargon was known to be a fussy man, who would turn away a meal if it was so much as presented in a mediocre manner. So the Grand Admiral laughed, and cajoled and flattered him. Generations of Dargons had ploughed the sea and strode the quarterdecks of many kinds of ships. The Grand Admiral reported to the Minister of Death that some of the officers were worried because the equipment was all new. But, he told the Minister, they were like dogs confronted with an unfamiliar place. They would get used to it in action, and would prove effective.

As a result, the Minister spoke to the Chancellor, and both of them spoke to the Regent, and told her everything was fine, and that the expedition should prepare and mount immediately.

Thus, the young Regent wrote to Simon Herzland, Head of Technate.

First Oceanian units to land in Gyzantia were done by air and landing at an available airport within Colstrea first sending a message to the Republic to let them know of their arrival as the planes landed they were quickly unloaded of all important stuff from APCs, IFVs, and the T-62s and T-55AM2Bs the M-84s and OT-1As would be shipped over at a later date as they needed to be loaded in a certain way among the cargo was Oceanian made M2-K helmets, chest rigs, and webbing along with weapons such as OAR-1 and its under folding stock variant, and ORM-52/61s while they are not modern they are really durable and produced of high-quality and can be operated by those who had limited military training.

The troops that came off the planes will surely need to make haste to the front as they don't want to miss the action however this takes time as they needed to get the vehicles up and running and make sure the vehicle guns were loaded they don't another incident where they forgot the ammo.

Out at sea 2, OGA-2Ks just got finished being armed and fueled for their journey before being launched from the carrier and taking off into the sky and flying towards Gyzantia.

The Dessin Military Base, seized by the Colstrean militia, was full of Colstrean volunteers and people, greeting their arrival to the captured base. The volunteers also helped the Oceanian troops to prepare their departure to the frontline. Three trucks, with 20 men in each truck, arrived in the military base, after hearing of the newly-arrived foreigners. They wait for them to finish, to guide them to the highways and into the frontline.

After Herzland has finished talking with the General staff in a classified location, he then sends a reply to this letter.

To: Princess Alavaine de Cressa, Regent of Sombreland
From: Simon Herzland, Head of Technate
Title: Suggestions for Deployment And Diplomacy

Your Royal Highness,

I and our General Staff have talked about the best location for the deployment of your Marines. Once again, we thank you for the support of your Kingdom. Here are our suggestions:

1. Landing on the port of Colstrea, and defending the main port of our autonomous government against the traitorous Colstreans.
2. Landing in Hatrap, and helping to secure the North-Eastern Highway going to Sikklosa.
3. Pushing from Yuniva to the Laresia-East Gyzantia Interchange, cutting off supply of the Socialists, unless they capture the Assora-Bradia Highway and the said cities in the highway.

You are welcome to use Gyzantian fuel and water, but we are only having issues with food, with the eastern agricultural region being seized by the Socialists.

About the treaty, we would be happy to secure a meeting between our nations. You may give us the location on where and when the meeting will take place.

Sincerely,

Galador Sombreland

During the Regent's meeting with the Ministers and the Ministerial officials, there was a debate about whether or not to offer a food package to Gyzantia. It was observed by the Minister of the Right and his officials that there was concern about possible crop failure and food price hikes in Sombreland. Sending a food package to Gyzanita might stir up the Thonists and other malcontents. On the other hand, it was observed by the Minister of Religion, there was no guarantee that there would be a famine. It had not been predicted by any of the Oracles. It was then further observed by the Minister of the Left's Foreign Affairs Director that there could be excellent payback from Gyzantia's government if the civil war ended in Technate victory. The meeting ended with the Chancellor recommending that further research be done into how it could be possible to send food to Gyzantia...or get more for Sombreland, for that matter.

Meanwhile, Royal Marines were assembled at staging areas. The Royal Marines were outfitted with new battledress, helmets, rifles, machineguns, sidearms, and recited the oaths before battle as they gathered in their squads, platoons, companies and by the battalion, shouting these oaths before their flags and sacred animals before embarking onto the ships that were to bear them to Gyzanita. The ships, freshly replenished, were receiving equipment, men, and vehicles. Rear-Admiral Dargon and Major-General Princes Jusus received many salutes and received many readiness reports. Many Royal Marines were issued loperamide hydrochloride to stiffen them against the effects of trying to get used to the Doggy Bags.

A splendid march was played while a recording was made of some of the Royal Marines marching proudly up gangplanks onto their transport ship, and of cranes lifting vehicles up, and pallets of carefully stacked equipment. Lines of cheering, and flower throwing and happily waving people of Sombreland were seen encouraging the Royal Marines as they embarked. Royal Marines lined decks where they were not in the way, waving and cheering themselves, fine looking young men in new battledress. The people looked up and oohed and ahhed as a flight of fighter jets screamed overhead in formation.

Prince Jusus glanced at Admiral Dargon. "Where are we going?"

It had been decided just before the embarkation. In spite of Grand Admiral Teroth's desire to have the expedition head right for Colstrea, Admiral Dargon had insisted on caution. "This expedition is going against my advice. While I am happy to follow orders, I strongly recommend that we head for Hatrap first." The Minister of the Left (and Minister of Death) had gotten tired of the argument and agreed, advising the Chancellor so, so that by the time it reached the ear of the young regent it was already decided.

The aid sent by Welephilostopia would arrive and the government of Welephilostopia would contact their counterparts in the Colstrea republic.

Sombreland wrote:In Sombreland, the Royal Marine Division had been training with their new equipment and armaments for a few weeks.

Your Excellency,

The order has been given for a light carrier fleet and a division of our Royal Marines to embark and then head for your country. Please advise us as to the best place to deploy to, and the commanders we have appointed will go there. The fleet commander is Admiral Tezentius Dargon, the Royal Marine Commander is Major-General Prince Junus.

We would also like to know what strategic and tactical goals our people should have; what targets, and who they should be fighting.

Our forces will come with replenishment and fuel, but I am told that they would like to know if they can replace fuel, food and water in your country.

I would like to suggest that officials between our countries meet at some point to discuss the treaties you have so happily agreed to.

We hope and pray for victory!

sincerely,

Sincerely,
Simon Herzland, Head of Technate

Indeed, the local Gonswanzan commanders took in any gifts and praise the people had, with weapons being handed out: FG-420s, simple, cheap, basic. They were more akin to oversized assault rifles, but they were worth it, especially when compared to the surplus guns that were also handed out (AK-103s, AK-47s, AK-74s, RPK-74s, FAMAS, M4A1s...) which were in various degrees. A militia was being formed, as the Gonswanzans advance to the front, keen on driving off the Technist hordes with superior firepower. Artillery marched with infantry who marched with armor, the might of Gonswanzan steel on full display, with SAM complexes ready to be set up at the border, as future shipments of materials and aid would come in due time.

Indeed, the republic had gained the favor of a rather powerful ally, one who had friends, too. Like Oceania, who was already setting up for war as well.
Praise our glorious leader Laura Ortiz!

The trainers would begin training 2 new infantry divisions using the Welephilostopian aid, they would finish proper training in ~6 months however basic training could be completed in as short as 2 months.

The Technate's forces in the Hatrap Highway were informed of the arrival of Sombreland forces to help in the ongoing attack by the Technate troops. This surely eased their minds, knowing that they will be helped by another nation's forces, but the General in the Hatrap Front, Gen. With the newly-found weapons given out by the Gonswanzan commanders, it has bolstered the spirit of the created militia, now joining the Gonswanzans in the march to the frontline. It was a majestic sight to the Colstreans who have once witnessed the old government uniting with the Gyzantians, who only came to their lands to exploit its resources. They now begin their march to the frontlines, to fully liberate their lands from the Gyzantians.

The Technate troops suffered massive causalties, now reaching 300 in the Battle of Assora, but now the Gyzantian counterpart to the TOS-1A has arrived, the Torva S8 MRLS, with 10 of them deployed in the area, firing cluster munitions into the outskirts of Assora, controlled by Socialists. This caused a massive death toll of more than 200 socialists in a suburb outside Assora. Of course, the usage of cluster bombs were banned by numerous nations in this world during the Olgad Convention of Peace, but Gyzantia was one of the many nations that did not attend the convention. This attack, therefore, caused protests by anti-war organizations and of governments against the usage of cluster munitions.

@Vinsegrad: when did you say you had intelligence monitoring my communications or that of Gyzentia for that matter? If you did say that, fair enough, but otherwise, that's not fair.

IC:
The Sombreland expedition, moving by sea, headed for Gyzantia. Leading the convoy, a frigate made a sharp edged shadow against the sea and the reflecting stars above. A waterfall and a great comet like wake flowed from her stern. The frigate now and then pitched against the swells, shaking hissing spray into the sea. Sonar pinged into the deep, radar swept the sky, and a single dimmed stern light floated in the night. The waves of its wake widened and then disappeared, merging with the powerful movements of the uncaring sea.

The other vessels came behind. They were led by the great wedge of the guided missile cruiser, which was flanked towards the rear by the frigates and corvettes that escorted the carrier and the freighters carrying the Royal Marines. The carrier was not sleek and beautiful as the cruiser and the frigates. Instead of having decks crowded with missile launchers, the carrier's decks was cluttered with helicopter pads and a flight deck. The superstructure rose like a tower above it all. Flung wide across miles of sea, the task force moved across the rolling waters with ponderous eagerness. From each ship, above the antennas and signal lines, streamed the fluttering flags of impending battle.

Cruising past Dessin, the fleet that helped deliver the infantry and units was riding off the coast, as aircraft kept an eye out for any hostile reaction given the close proximity of the Technate forces. Yet even as the army marched, the air force and navy were working overtime to conduct themselves. Once within range of the front, several Kalibr-M cruise missiles are launched against the frontlines, guided in on their own accord, as J-105 Skipjacks fly out with Kinzhals ready to engage any hostile ships in the area, or any ground targets that were within reach of the brutal missile itself. Not that the first wave was an absolute death sentence, but it was a sign of things to come as the army now had to race for the front to try to demolish any offensive the Technate could attempt from the southeast.

SIC:
Elsewhere, the only link to the Technate was being considered as a possible target by the fleet, with Gonswanzan intelligence looking over the map as a whole back in Gonswanza, deeming the bridge a critical weakpoint. Hence, it was decided that, before they could bomb it through TU-160s using cruise missiles, they first need to determine whether or not the Technate even plans to use it, as otherwise, it could be critical in opening a second front against the Technate. Yet, it was considered and deemed impossible. To cut off the Technate entirely and crush them at Colstrea is a short-term goal, but the long-term goal of helping the Republic succeed would need the bridge to go, and the island across from Retrosa also taken and turned into a base from which strikes can be conducted.

And thus, the reapers come into play.

Given their orders and escorts of "Buddy" drones, the large lumbering bombers were loaded with KH-101s, dead set on taking out the bridge that connected Port Nithu with Dessin.

This small operation will be known as Operation Backbreaker, as a select operation necessary for the survival of the Republic.
Praise our glorious leader Laura Ortiz!

I haven't edited it yet, it should have been before the post about wiretapping, I should have accompanied the method but I was praying so I'm sorry for messing up

Operstion 'Colstrea Cross'

Postby Civia Welephilostopia » Sun Sep 25, 2022 11:43 pm

The 3 Infantry would be joined by CR high command in preperation to begin operation 'Colstrea Cross' which would have 3 phases.

Phase 1:
The 3 divisions sent by Civia Welephilostopia would blitz down the road to Colstrea and encircle it with aircraft supporting and clearing the skies.

Phase 2:
Other CR divisions would sweep the countryside and link up with the Welephilostopian units in the surrounds of Colstrea.

Phase 3:
All the forces would engage in slow and brutal urban combat to cleanse the city of enemy forces.
