And so, it begins...

In Constantinople - the envy of the world - His Majesty, Gdridg II; the blessed king of Armenia and the conqueror of Anatolia, has announced the inevitable. A day that - for many a year - has been awaited by millions. No, tis not the next coming of Christ...nor is it the end of the Marajarbian state. No - for this day, above all, is special. One that shall, without a doubt, cast a great wave of change over not just Europe - but the world as a whole. 'What', you may ask, 'could do such a thing?' The answer is simple, and short, really...and tis one that shall require great valour and great patriotism; fervour cast into the hearts of every Armenian man, woman, and child. Armenia - the first Christian nation - has indeed initiated the Hrashali Gaghap’ar ('Great Idea') and with it, the idealization of a truly "Greater Armenia". One that spans from Serbia in the west - to the Armenian highlands in the east. Indeed, a true Byzantine successor. This - however - would be impossible without the Grand Alliance and the I Have Honour Alliance, Armenia's most supported political parties...and the sole political parties, as of late, represented in the National Assembly. Tis their support - above all - that keeps Armenia going...

What shall the 'Great Idea' bring for the two parties? Unification...a merger of which Marajarbia could only dream of. The most noble decision indeed has, at last, brought the two together - not out of necessity, but out of desire. And so, exit the old system and enter Ascension - Armenia's finest organization...and the organization that shall bring about a truly Armenian nation. One that surpasses their genocidaires, and one that surpasses all before it....for it - not Moscow, and certainly not Rome, is the defender of the European Christendom...and for it, and it alone that will bring about a golden age. A traditional age.

The Faith and the fatherland shall stand above all..

Military Coup, End of European Democracy?

Within the last few hours, several prominent and popular figures within the European Armed forces, including lead General Eberhard Zorn and Admiral Benjamin Key, have led a coup across the federation in coordination with nationalist para-militaries. Various reports indicate the European Parliament has been seized along with other important Brussels-based government offices and members of the European Council are reported to of fled.

In a speech televised to the public, Eberhard Zorn stated the following, “Our great federation has proven itself to be a world leader no longer reliant on the old powers, yet, corruption and bureaucracy have limited Europe’s power and expansion. Eurasia must be united under one flag, without hindrance, so I encourage you all to report any opposition to our new government. For a United Eurasia!”

Shortly after the speech, a transitional government was established with a rather unknown Russian Pan-Eurasianist figure named Aleksandr Dugin assuming the role of President, an alleged figurehead for the military. Elections have been permanently suspended, with strict anti-free speech laws being put into force along with the establishment of the Internal Security Department that will enforce the regime’s will.

No organised resistance has successfully mounted as of now, the effective use of paramilitaries and the armed forces largely crushing dissent. The international response has been overwhelmingly negative, nearly all of the Americas and Oceania have continued to recognise the old government, offering asylum to those fleeing. Asia has seen a mixed response, mostly negative towards the expansionist attitude but supportive of the new fascist government.

"I'm telling you, we need to get back at these white-collar bastards." said Michael Torelli, a small time con man. Michael has a certain flair, a smoothness, a swagger if you will. He's Loki meets Zack Morris from Saved by the Bell. But as sneaky as he was, he did have a conscience. And that small, underrepresented conscience was telling him to do something to get back at the people who embezzled funds from the banks on the South Coast

"How?" asked his partner-in-crime, and best friend Hank. Hank is the more reasonable one, and is relatively new to the game. Fortunately, Hank was also an accountant at Ventura Bank.

Michael smirked.

"You need 5 things for a heist; a charming con man, yours truly" he said, pointing at himself, as his friend rolled his eyes. "An inside man" he motioned his pal.

"Ok, ok, who are the other 3?"

"Well, first off, an explosives expert, obviously"

The two dapper best buds strolled up to a metal fence around a demolition site.

KA-BOOOM!

"PETERSON!" yelled the foreman. "You're only supposed to blow the bloody columns off dammit! Not the whole damn floor!"

Peterson, the man in charge of explosives at the site was annoyed by his boss' attitude.

"The floor was ugly, we were gonna pave it over anyways." he said, trying to justify his use of explosives.

"This guy?" asked Hank. "He seems like a loose cannon" he added.

"This guy once blew his way into the Weid Canyon Vault, using nothing but fireworks, office supplies and a bobby pin."

Hank shot Michael a look that said it all.

"Jimmy Peterson!" said Michael approaching Jimmy.

"Mikey!" Jimmy greeted Michael warmly, giving him a bro hug. "Hank! How are you?" he said, greeting him the same.

"I got a job coming up, and we need a guy with your expertise."

"I'm in mate, just like old times." said Jimmy, knowing he needed the money now that his job was in jeopardy.

"All right, you know the deal?" asked Michael.

"Billiards bar in Franklin Terrace, the usual meeting place." responded Jimmy.

"All right see you there!" said Michael, waving goodbye.

"So, who's next?" asked Hank, as they walked away.

"A computer whiz, luckily I know where to find one.

They walked up a flight of steps to a cheap apartment, where techno music was blaring out of the half- opened door. Michael walked right in, whereas Hank...

"Shouldn't we knock first? Aw, never mind" said Hank, initially hesitant, but eventually going along with Michael into the flat, which was littered with fast food boxes, chip bags, empty energy drink cans, and are those pan- you know what, I don't want to know. They continued until finding a young man absorbed in his video game. Michael tapped his shoulder. No response. He tapped again. Same thing. So he took off the kid's headphones.

"Hey, man what the hell?" said the guy, indignant. "I was about to defeat the final boss in Space Marines: Call of Honor 3!"

"Sorry to interrupt something so important and vital." said Michael sarcastically, helping himself to a cold can of soda. He offered one to Hank who turned down the offer, still awkward about just walking right in to another person's apartment, and even more awkward that this seemed normal for Michael.

"Is this about the Bitcoin farm? Cause I got the whole crypto mining thing down man." asked the guy.

"No Charlie I'm not here about that, I'm putting a crew together, and we need a- how should I say, unbeknown digital system entrance expert. In other words, someone who gets into computer networks he's not really supposed to be in, but sticks his hand in the cookie jar anyways." said Michael, raising an eyebrow.

"Ahhhh" Charlie said, raising his head in understanding. "What's in it for me?"

"20%" said Michael.

Charlie nodded his head, both to the beat of the music he was blasting, and in agreement with Michael.

"See you at the spot." said Charlie, confirming he was in.

"See you there man. Oh, and thanks for the update on the Bitcoin farm." said Michael, walking out.

As they left the apartment, Hank said: "4 out of 5, who's the last one?"

"A getaway driver of course." said Michael turning around to face Hank and doing a kind of Loki smug pose, before facing forward again and saying, "And I know just where to find her."

Halfway across town....

A '79 Charger roared down the street, with a pack of half a dozen cops on her tail. She outmaneuvered them all, finally screeching to a halt right before the canal.
Cut to her sitting in a holding cell at the VBPD.

The gate door buzzed, and a cop walked through.

"Looks like it's your lucky day, someone's bailing you out."

Mariana wondered who it could be, but was glad she was being released. Walking out she saw Hank and Michael.

"You crazy bastard" she said walking past him to the impound lot to get her car back.

"Not even a thank you?' asked Michael sarcastically.

Mariana turned around. "If you sprung me, it's not because you owed me a favor from high school, it's because you have some con game shit on your mind and need a wheelwoman."

"What favor?" Hank whispered to Michael.

"Who's your friend?" she nodded to Hank.

"Hank, Hank Beasley" he said, sticking out his hand.

She slapped his hand, and said; "Hank, lemme give you some advice, never trust Michael Torelli with so much as a piggy bank, he'll gamble it all away on poker, stocks, cryptocurrency, or whatever the hell and NFT is."

"How was I supposed to know the Lehman Brothers stock would plunge?!" retorted Michael indignantly.

"Oooof" said Hank, "I didn't know you invested in that."

"I don't talk about my past failed enterprises." said Michael quickly.

"Well maybe you should" said Mariana, taking a step towards the guys. "Senior year of high school, we're in the same economics class. This lowlife comes up with the brilliant idea to spend the class' money on some hot stock market tips from America. The class goes along, and we all loose our money, he insists it's just a small setback, and that we could invest again, and earn enough money to pay for college. No one listens to him, except me, the younger, stupider, bright-eyed optimist I was. I invest my entire college savings fund, in his stupid idea, It's gone by September. That's when I learned a valuable lesson: never trust someone twice. So, I stuck out on my own, and never looked back." She said.

Michael had been staring down during the whole story, before pulling his head back up with a sincerely sorry look on his face.

"I'm sorry about that, but this is different" he said.

"Different from all those other times you come to me with a 'brilliant idea' " she said in air quotations. "I said no, but some other poor suckers fell for it. And now with this bank fraud shit, the world needs less of your scams, not more." she said.

"Actually, that's what I'm here about." he said.

Mariana tried to hide her interest in this idea.

"It's not a con, it's a heist. We're gonna hit the banks right before they send the money to Newport." explained Michael.

"How do you know they're sending the money up north?" she asked

"Because Hank were works at the bank." he said with a smirk.

She walked up to his face, and said to him: "If this doesn't work, you're dead."

"Don't go picking out a funeral outfit just yet." he quipped back.

"Same old cocky Michael." she said. "You have it all planned out?" she asked.

"Down to a T." he reassured. "Could use a ride though."

Mariana chuckled. "All right, but only because you bailed me out. Now we're even."

As the drove away, Hank asked; "So what was that favor from high school.

"Nothing" said both Michael and Mariana simultaneously. "Now focus, we got heist prep to do." said Michael, putting on his shades. "To the pool bar." he said.

BREAKING: Armenia Invades Greece

Armenian artillery fires at Greek positions

At last - the sacred advance has begun...

Armenian troops - many of whom had been stationed along the border since earlier this month - have, after much time of deliberation and preparation, advanced into Greece's Eastern Macedonia and Thrace; having been preceded by a insurmountable wave of artillery at 00:30. It is believed that - according to many a source - the massive, ever-advancing, force is led by none other than Prince Hovhannes - the younger brother of His Majesty and the heir-apparent to the Armenian throne. This, of course, would debunk the theories of Hovahnnes - In fact - leading the on-going invasion of Muqaddasia...though His Majesty has yet to prove or disprove the validity of the former claim. No matter whomever leads their charge - the Armenians, per reports from many, are believed to have made massive gains against their smaller, less-prepared foe. It has also been reported that - for some reason - His Majesty has authorized the creation of a puppet government in conquered territories (appropriately) named the "Hellenic Civilian-Military Administration".

Phase one of the Hrashali Gaghap’ar has garnered some controversy - however - as the Armenian government has recognized their use of white phosphorus, alongside napalm and other unconvential weapons, against Greek forces.

Egypt Capitulates, Pushes Made

The Egyptian Governor, Ahmad Dods, raised the white flag as he surrendered to General Vricken in the city of Luxor.

In an official radio broadcast from the city of Luxor, Egypt, the Governor of Egypt, one Ahmad Dods, surrendered the Muqqadasian state of Egypt to Olpenese General Charles Vricken and his forces. This comes as Olpenese forces took both the Nile and the Mediterranean Coast. This region houses the majority of the population of Egypt, including the residents of Cairo and Alexandria. More than 30,000 Muqqaasis died in the fighting, as well as 15,000 Olpenese soldiers.
Pushes are already being made into Jordan, Isreal, and Saudi Arabia. Battles are occurring already at the small towns of Aqaba and Eilat in Jordan and Isreal respectively, with bombing campaigns already running over these cities. It is hoped that Isreal will surrender within the month, but no reputable source has estimated how long it will take for Isreal to fall.
Despite the official surrender of Egypt, rebel and guerilla groups are expected to plague occupying forces in the Sahara. Satellites have detected a large influx of cars driving to seemingly deserted patches of desert. Tanks and ATVs have tried to catch them, but so far the military has not had any luck at cathing the rebels.

In occupied Egypt, paramilitants belonging to the Party of National Unity have been intimidating, shooting locals while keeping the peace.

In the newly occupied Egypt, paramilitary forces of the Party of National Unity, the Unificateurs (Unifiers), have been roaming the streets of major cities. Almost 1,500 men strong and armed with AUG-1s likely bought in the Romanic Imperium, as well as a variety of small arms, they seem to be scaring the local populace into submission. According to unconfirmed reports, the Unifyers have shot almost 15 civilians already, 1 of which purportedly died. So far, local authorities have ignored the problem.
The Party Chairman Sartre made the announcement that paramilitaries would be deployed to Egypt yesterday. In the speech, he said that he instructed his forces, under the command of Corp. Philomène Jacques, to act as an 'aid' to the official Military Police in the area. He also said the deployment would 'stay in Egypt for as long as locals fail to declare loyalty to Olpen.
Already, there have been calls for the Military Police in the area to dispel the group. One Senator, who preferred to remain anonymous, said "These Unifiers as they call themselves are no different from the SS of fascist Germany or the Brownshirts of fascist Italy. We cannot trust them, not in Egypt, not in Olpen, not anywhere." It seems that this sentiment is shared by others, "These fascists can not be allowed to strain the already tenuous trust between the Military Police and the locals."
However, some Senators wish to support the Unifiers. "We need people like that, people who will protect our citizens at their own peril for no pay. We should encourage the rest of the populace to have the sense of patriotism and duty that these brave men and women do," Sen. Lucília Simões of New Fieldland said. Jérémy Bellerose, a Senator for North Kolpon, said this, "It's just numbers. These Unifiers do the job that would cost the lives of Olpenese soldiers more efficiently than we can. They should stay."

Munschen City
With the muffled bells tolling as the clock strikes three in the morning, the mild wind of the ocean refreshes the gloomy sky of the well-known port city. The bells aren't there to wake up some sleeping townsfolk of course; they're there to let everyone know that one of the vessels taking part in the Magochyo Combined Fleet Review has just arrived. A little bit of background: the city was once the center of the Magochyo Dynasty, which was then taken over by the Janpian Empire, before being handed over to the foreigners, who renamed the civilization as what is now called the Munschen City. The Munschen harbor is the home of the Revolutionary Navy's largest fleet, the Magochyo Sea Fleet, which comprises of 3x Revolution-Class Aircraft Carriers, 28x Katyacha-Class Guided Missile Destroyers, 4x Hanschinburg-Class Guided Missile Destroyers, and a few more warship class worth mentioning. This year's fleet review will be attended by a total of 159x JURN ships and a reported number from Gonswanza, which will make it the first time a foreign nation participated in the annual fleet review. A flyover of 120x Hisshin Jets, an airshow of 10x HT-21 aircrafts, followed by the Gonswanzans, will take part in the air fleet formation segment. This fleet review is so far the largest held in Janpian history, not to mention the first time a foreign nation will participate. The fleet review is there to commemorate the revolutionaries' victory against the Janpian empire during the 4th era battle of the Janpian Sea, where they sank the majority of the imperial navy and prevented the Munschen and Kamayacha Fleet from combining together. On the port are some early guests or visitors, who went around and tour the ships, try different naval curry, and take pictures with the ship's mascot or sailors.

The People's Marshal, Natya Anya, has been sleeping throughout the train ride from Kalingrad, coping up the lost hours of sleep during her time at Olpen and to reduce the jet lag. In her mind, she kept thinking of the JURIC report that she received before she left Fort Kalinka, which stated that a few high-ranking Revolutionary Council members and UPMC attendees were attempting to launch a coup against her. To which she slightly murmurs

PM Natya:"Hardli-....ners....Janpian reformed.... forces....."

Her secretary, who is right beside her, noticed Natya's sleeping murmurs and allowed her to lean and rest on her shoulder, giving her a small pat on the head to calm whatever nightmares or worries she may have. As they arrived at their destination, the secretary gently woke Natya up, who then wobbly stood up and exited the train car. The station is originally supposed to be for cargo trains, but for this event, temporary train routes were set up from the Munschen International Airport and from some major stations, in order to ferry people to a convenient stop during the event. As PM Natya adjusted her sights and walked into the exits, she look down into her watch and checked the time, which is 4:12AM. By this point, people are already gathering around the port for the event, while journalists have already set up an ambush for her. Over the horizon, she can see the flag signals of the ships, which she tries to read

PM Natya:"J...R....S...Aken...scho-"

She was then abruptly interviewed by one of the reporters, who immediately asked her a question

Interviewer:"People's Marshal! What can you say to some members of the UPMC who stated that this is a waste of time and resources?"

PM Natya:"I-uhh the questions goes to my secretary. Press conference will be held later at..... 7:00PM"

She answered in a calm (and sleepy) manner, to which she slightly waved her hands around the cameras, signaling that she didn't want to be interviewed. As the interviewer began to ask her more questions, other reporters and people began to take notice and flocked to her at the station platform. Soon she was surrounded by reporters from various labor unions and people with their smart phones. Fortunately for her, the Fort Kalinka guards have just dismounted their coaches and pushed the crowd away from her. Camera flashes irritate her because they obscure the dark night background. She covered her eyes and proceeded with her secretary to JRS Kalingrad, an Avescho-Class Battlecruiser, all while under bombardment from the constant flashes of the people around her. The JRS Kalingrad is the lead ship of the Magochyo Combined Fleet Review, which will perform a gun salute towards the Magochyo Fleet Flagship, JRS Dabun Javosch, a Revolution-Class Aircraft Carrier. From there, she greeted and inspected the sailors, and met with the 2nd Class Grand Admiral at the bridge. From there, she stood in awe as she walked around the monitors and panels, before heading towards the windows on the bridge where Rear Admiral Einstokov Unramana is standing. The Admiral saluted as accustomed, and stated his rank

rAdm. Einstokov:"2nd Class Rear Admiral, Einstokov Unramana. Reporting for the Revolution!"

One of the PM's naval commissars then ordered him at ease, to which he obliged. In a brief silent pause, the People's Marshal looks around the monitors, checking the radars and wind pattern.

PM Natya:"Sails.... are clear?"

The Commissar chuckles and grabs the attention of the Admiral

Commissar:"What the People's Marshal is trying to say is-- is the weather ahead clear?"

rAdm. Einstokov:"Ah yes Commissar! We expect calm weather throughout the event, although the seas will be rough due to the Yumamin current. Nevertheless, the Revolutionary Maritime Guards reported that the current is 1 m/s from the southeast towards the northeast, which doesn't matter much on ocean-capable vessels. However, I believe the LAV parade may be postponed"

PM Natya:"Where will.... the foreigners.... be?"

The Commissar gives a small signal to ignore her statements, and silently tattled that she haven't got much sleep

Commissar:"I believe the People's Marshal is asking on where will the attending foreigners be"

rAdm. Einstokov:"Ahh as for the attendees, the 4 Alevayev LSD ships will be the inspecting ship for the spectators. One ship is reserved for the naval officers, officials, and foreign ranking officials. As for the foreign warships, they will be sent on Pier 22 to 32"

As silence streams in to the bridge, the Admiral then closed his hands and spoke infront of the PM's aides

rAdm. Einstokov:"Anywho... have you all eaten breakfast? My crew has prepared a naval curry mix and coffee down the mess hall, since I believe the train from Kalingrad hasn't provided any meals. I believe you all have to meet Grand Admiral Skanavya and some few dignitaries and officials before the event starts"

Disgust at Armenia echoes throughout the Government

As the invasion of Greece begins, people in Charoskania are detesting the decision of the Armenian Government. Aggression like this is a great threat to the stability of the world, says the cabinet, and in using white phosphorus and napalm against the Greek Army, the Kingdom of Armenia has used chemical weapons. The Foreign Minister is withdrawing all Charoin people in Armenia, and cutting all ties with the government. The Acting Prime Minister, Claudine Kraow, has stated this morning:

"We are shocked at the invasion of Greece, and even more so at the weapons used against the soldiers. The government of Armenia says they are 'unconventional', but really they are chemical weapons, weapons that can cause a great after-effect in the region! We have outlawed the use of Chemical Weapons and we detest any nation or individual who does so. And as the Armenians proclaim Greater Armenia, we only see what could be politely said as nationalistic aggression. This is quite ironic for a nation that is the leader of an alliance named the 'International Humanitarian Organization'."

BREAKING: Athens Capitulates; Viceroyalty of the Balkans Established

So ends the Greek state...

Armenian troops, after much fighting and tribulation, finally broken through Greek lines...and with them - their adversary's capital. The 'City of the Violet Crown'; in all of its 'wisdom', surrendered to advancing troops at 05:30 - much to the ire of many a Greek national. A grand parade through the streets of Athens preceded the ceremony that crowned none-other than Hovhannes, heir-apparent to the Armenian throne, as the 'viceroy of the Balkans'...thus establishing, for the first time in over a century, imperial rule in the Balkans. Such a feat - while certainly a difficult one - was considered one of 'utmost importance and success' by His Majesty. He, as per usual, is expected to make a speech in Athens in the coming hours - or tomorrow.

Regarding Charoskania's 'disgust' - the Armenian government responded in a short and simple manner - claiming that they 'have little-to-no understanding of the Armenian cause' and are 'Godless fools who seek to destroy the world's first Christian nation'. Following the former's decision to 'cut all ties' with the government - PM Avietissian gave the go-ahead to detain any and all Charoskanian diplomats within Armenian territory.

[Gonswanza]

In the dead hours of the early morning, as the fleet review was still being organized, Alicorn soon pulls into the area, with her escorts, though a few of the strange "sails" also escort her along before she comes to a stop offshore and away from the main area, as a tender pulls up to refuel and resupply her. A Gonswanzan tender, purpose-built for the task, as supplies are moved along quickly.

Elsewhere, the rest of the ships arrive... As aircraft are moved quickly as well. Gunships were moved along with some naval aircraft. A carrier is positioned beside the Alicorn, as USVs secure the area. UUVs swim around, keeping watch.

And yet, Laura Ortiz arrives soon from a Gonswanzan airliner to a sudden media ambush that is settled quickly by her guards as she laughs. Indeed, the questions came hard and fast, as she decided to speak up while smoking a cigar. Clearly, she was enjoying herself...

"President Ortiz! Do you have any comments on Janpia? Perhaps on KTO in general?"

"-Ah, yes. Janpia. One of the three greatest powers in KTO, now made to four, given their sheer strength by the sea. However, the big four when combined can create a force to be reckoned with. As for the KTO, they have gotten rather active recently. But I hope that the alliance continues to be long after these trials in Hawaii and other regions."

"Ortiz! Ortiz! Over here! What about the situation in Hawaii?"

"Hawaii is doing well. I'm certain within a few weeks' time the islands will be retaken, while the rest of the states will be bled dry. However, it has demonstrated the effectiveness of Peacekeepers, with active offensives being made to retake the island from those filthy rats. Shame it had to be that way. Hehe, of course, it's that way. It's human nature to fight, is it not? Violence is in our blood. So embrace the hatred. No use in denying your own humanity."

There's a pause among the interviewers as they take a moment to process that quote, but soon another pipes up.

"Ortiz! What about-?"

The question is interrupted by a quickdraw from the President herself, as she shoots a cloaked assassin from the crowd that had approached her with a sword, though she shot them in the hand, before having her guards beat them to death on live TV, as she speaks up over their agony.

"You see, even now, people still seek to tap into their hatred, their instinct. Shame that some are far better equipped to handle such attempts. After that disturbing speech, the press seems to bugger off, leaving Laura Ortiz to her own devices, spitting on the dead assassin before shooting into their body, then putting her sidearm away. The news seems to have mixed views about the mad dictator, some even claiming that she is perhaps here to kill Natya, but that was highly unlikely. Yet, Laura Ortiz is now in Janpia. And people were already unsure about her.

A dark, musty pool bar, illuminated mainly by the lights above the pool tables, and behind the bar counter. In a corner booth the crew gathered to hear Michael's plan. Michael unfurled a map of the city on the table, forcing everyone to lift their drinks.

"Ok, so, downtown Ventura Bay. 4 banks. Ventura Bank, SCRF, Bleeker, and Uniti." Michael said, marking them on the map. "at 8 o'clock sharp Friday, the Marshall Security service is moving the cash out. That leaves us a little under a week to get in, get the cash, and get the hell out." he added.

"According to some documents I've seen the total amount of cash is-" Hank took a deep breath, and leaned in. "90 million Traders."

Jimmy, Charlie and Mariana nearly spit their drinks out, as Michael smiled.

"Now, hitting all three at once would be impossible. So we take it one at a time. Ventura Bank tonight, SCRF Tuesday, Bleeker on Wednesday, and Uniti on Thursday." said Michael. "First off, Ventura Bank."

"Won't they notice the cash is missing?" asked Jimmy.

"No. First off, the vaults at all 4 bank headquarters are on lockdown until the money is moved. Secondly, if someone does go in and check, we'll fill the vault with fake cash I happen to have on hand, don't ask why." continued Michael.

"But how?" asked the ever-cynical Mariana.

Michael addressed her concerns: "Ahh, I'm glad you asked. The vault is on the ground level of the bank's offices on Atlantic Avenue. It's 2-foot thick steel-"

"Which we can't drill through" interjected Hank

"....requires biometric identification to open...."

"Which we can't fake or steal."

"......needs a specific code to access....."

"Which we don't know."

".....and is guarded by CCTV 24/7, as well as a system of complicated sensors and alarms."

"Piece of cake" said Charlie.

"It seems so, but to access it, you'll need to get into their company mainframe, which is in a completely different building." said Hank.

"Once Charlie disables the security system, Jimmy can work his magic. The vault has one weakness: the door's mechanism can be accessed by one small port on the side, which is locked, fortunately, it's so easy, a toddler could pick it. Once the vault door's maintenance port in unlocked, we can slip in some explosives, and BOOM! Open doors. From there, it's a cakewalk, we grab the cash, and split." explained Michael.

"What if the cops show up?" asked Mariana.

"They won't." Michael reassured confidently.

"How do you know" she asked.

Michael waved a playing card around her face, then quickly made it disappear. He reached behind her ear and pulled it out again. "Misdirection, baby." he said. "We set up a distraction on the other side of town, and they'll all go flocking over there."

The crew all sort of nodded and looked at each other.

"When do we start?" asked Charlie.

"Right now" he said, turning to Hank. "You're late for work" he said to him.

'Work?" asked Hank, rather confused.

"You're going to get Charlie in the system." Michael turned to Charlie; "Think you can program some software that'll get in undetected if Hank plugs a thumb drive in the right spot?" he asked the hacker.

Charlie nodded in agreement.

"OK, you need to make it to the Head of Tech Services office, 31st floor." said Charlie over comms.

"Copy" said Hank, casually showing his ID to a passing security guard.

Once at the office he needed to be at, he said to Charlie: "Alright, make the call"

Charlie called the Head of Tech Services, pretending to be the front desk. "Yeah, uh, we need you down here, there's some guy, claims he's your ex-husband" said Charlie in a hilariously high-pitched voice. But it worked, the lady ran down there mumbling to herself something about the offspring of a female dog. With her out of her office, Hank slipped in, and plugged the drive in.

"Alright, the program should take a few minutes to upload. Once it's in, you can unplug the stick and get out." said Charlie.

"I don't have a few minutes" said Hank, knowing the lady would be back up once she realized her ex wasn't down in the lobby.

The program slowly loaded as Hank began to worry, so he bought some time.

"What are you doing?"" asked Michael over the earpiece.

"Buying time." said Hank, who was running down stairs and pushing the elevator button at every floor. By the 24th floor, though he was winded.

"Wait, who's gonna unplug the USB drive when the programs done uploading?" asked Michael, knowing she'd get suspicious if she found the drive. "Just take the lift back up, and discreetly snatch it back while you're taking small talk" said Michael.

"Yeah easy for you, I can't do that." responded Hank. But he was tired, so he got in the elevator with the lady.

"Rough day?" he asked.

"You wouldn't believe it." she replied, and began rambling on about her ex-husband. This kept her engaged in conversation the whole elevator ride. So, once they got up to the floor were her office was at, Hank was able to keep er distracted talking while he discreetly snatched the USB drive, and made his way out of there.

"He learns quickly." said Michael, proud of his friend.

With that done, all they had to do was meet up with Jimmy who had acquired all the explosives necessary for the caper.

"Right, observe mate: liquid trinitrotoluene. You know it as TNT." said Jimmy, beginning his presentation. "Now to get into the vault we have to blow it's gut out, in other words disable the mechanism the locks the door. So we pour this special mixture in, and...." he said as he poured the sample in a mock-up vault door made of old car parts.

"3...2.....1..FIRE IN THE HOLE!" he said, as he lit the fuse. "Hmm, that's weird, nothing happ-"

KA-BOOOOM

Michael opened his eyes, and where there was once a mock-up vault door there was now a crater, and above it, a gaping hole in the ceiling.

"Hoooly SHIT!" he exclaimed.

"Let's see if this doesn't give us away." said Mariana getting up and walking away, while Hank and Charlie were still in shock from the blast. Mariana then walked over to a tarp and unraveled a beautiful specimen of a motor vehicle.

Michael gasped in awe. "A 1989 Dodge Challenger!" he said, about to fanboy out over the muscle car.

"You know your cars." said Mariana.

"It's been my dream car since I was six." said Michael, in a euphoric, almost trance-like state.

"No." said Mariana plainly, knowing what Michael had on his mind.

"Please" begged Michael like a child asking his parents for a new toy or more ice cream.

"No." reiterated Mariana.

"I'll never ask for anything of you ever again." promised Michael.

Finally, Mariana conceded. "One joyride, around the block, that's it." she said.

"YESSS, yes, yes, yes, yes! Thank you! Thank you!" exclaimed Michael running towards Mariana "I could kiss you right now!" he added.

"No you won't" she said, handing him the keys.

"We'll be right back!" said Michael waving to the crew all giddy.

"You kids have fun." said Charlie sarcastically.

The car pulled out of the garage, with Michael happy as ever to be living his boyhood dream.

The car roared to life, as Michael went full Fast and Furious mode.

"I feed a need... the need for SPEED!" he said as he tore off like a maniac.

He drifted the car through the turns of the neighborhood, and sped onto a major road.

"Ahhh ha-ha-ha!" exclaimed Mariana, who was having fun for the first time in the heist.

Michael turned on the radio, and what is arguably the best driving song of all time came on. Nodding his head to guitar instrumental, Michael hopped on the freeway, enjoying every second of it.

"Are you nuts!" yelled Mariana. "This is sure as hell not 'around the block'" she yelled.

"Yeah," said Michael. "..BUT IT'S SO MUCH FUN!!" he said as both the music and the car sped up, and roared down the freeway, ducking and waving like crazy. He drifted through the off ramp, and back on the street, as the song concluded, pulled right up to the garage.

"You ok?" asked Michael to his passenger.

"Yeah. Let's go rob a bank" said Mariana, half-dizzy, half-excited.

They both laughed, and sort of hugged, but stopped just short. Then the fun atmosphere instantly ended, and Michael went back into serious, caper-planner mode.

"I gotta go over the plan for tonight with the guys again." he said, exiting the car.

"Yeah, I gotta go do stuff too." she said quickly.

As Mariana walked back inside, a look came upon Michael's face as he just stood there. Hank walked up to him and noticed his facial expression.

'Ohhhh. Ok, I see." Hank said, snidely.

"Oh shut up" said Michael, back to normal, and walking towards the garage.

"Alright!" he said, clapping his hands. "Who's ready to rob a bank?" he asked rhetorically, while smiling from ear to ear.

Just as they did in Greece - the Armenians have resorted to using white phosphorus and other weapons deemed 'immoral' - claiming that such an action was, above all, crucial to establishing a 'heavenly realm on Earth'...one that - as has been said time and time again - will reignite the soul of the worldwide Christendom. Theories have been circulating about a 'Byzantine Restoration' once the Hrashali Gaghap’ar has been finished...yet these theories - to this day - go unproven.

Supreme Soviet Condemns Armenian Fascism and War Crimes, Enacts Travel Ban

As the war in Muqqadasia has drawn into a standstill and Yitanka has set about to both host an alliance for the disunited socialist cause as well as begin negotiations to take in communist exiles from politically hostile nations, the world's spotlight has turned to a most worrying place.

The Kingdom of Armenia, one of Yitanka's allies via the Kalsight Treaty Organization, has begun to undertake a series of repulsively aggressive wars against the nations of Greece, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia. They're reason? A "holy war" to annex whatever territories the revisionist government of Armenia sees fit and the establishment of a sprawling exclusively Christian state, with an end goal of the reestablishment of the Byzantine Empire.

As with all other autocratic governments, the Armenian state has more than backed up the claims levied against it of flagrant and willful disregard for even the most basic of human rights and international law. The mass use of white phosphorus as a chemical weapon, widespread use of napalm, and other such illegal actions the amoral and corrupt are fond of utilizing. It's dangerous racially and religiously charged rhetoric, often labelling non-Armenians and non-Christians as "filthy degenerates" in need of "cleansing", sparks nearly faded memories from nearly a century ago when fascists such as Hitler and Mussolini proclaimed similar ambitions and followed similarly reprehensible actions.

Facing this rhetoric head-on, the Supreme Soviet of the Yitankan SSR has condemned the Kingdom of Armenia as a fascist state and has enacted an immediate travel ban on Armenia and a general advisory against travel to states in the immediate warpath of the Armenian regime's goals. Similarly, all diplomats have been recalled from Armenia and Yitankans abroad in the region are strongly urged to leave when possible.

The Supreme Soviet has reaffirmed its inflexible resolve against fascist demagogues, stating; "Yitanka has not, does not, nor will ever tolerate fascism of any kind. Governments who see themselves as the rightful rulers over land that is not there's, believe themselves to be racially or culturally superior to all others, and back such claims with threats or use of force benefit only themselves at the cost of all others. They know only theft and are stopped only when they are made to. They will kill millions simply to satisfy their biased, revisionist notion of superiority and see all who are not them as inherently inferior. In our eyes little separates the Armenian fascists from the Ottomans, whose genocide still haunts the Armenian people, save that genocide in such large numbers has yet to be committed. Though there is no doubt in our mind that such things will necessarily spring forth from the rhetoric emanating from Yerevan. It is only a matter of time."

The Yitankan government calls upon all nations of the world to denounce the Armenian government, citing the likelihood that such a state must be stopped early or it will only grow with endless hunger. Mediterranean states are also warned of a more imminent danger: A militant fascist state whose next hunger is likely to be an Armenian attempt at Mare Nostrum. With publicly admitted desires already set on annexation of formerly Byzantine lands, of which nations in the Eastern Mediterranean need immediately worry, the leap to ambitions of Roman reunification is practically non-existent.

Those who willfully break international law and wear such crimes as a badge of honor cannot be trusted. Even allies of the Armenian state should begin to question whether they are truly safe from such unchecked megalomania.

Olpen Condemns Armenia, Gurantees Balkans

The Department of State has condemned their ally Armenia and has guaranteed the Balkan states of Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia, and Croati

Ddespite the strategic alliance between Armenia and Olpen in the war in Muqqadasia, the Secretary of State Hugo Duval has condemned the aggressive actions of Armenia. In a joint release later that day with General Nathanial Kirk, she announced that Olpen would be "guaranteeing the states of [the Balkans] against any aggression from foreign neighbors, Armenian or otherwise." She said that Olpen would "not allow any more sovereign states be taken by the Warhawks in Yerevan."
This threat is not empty, it seems. The New France Sea National Guard has been placed in the Adriatic, Ionian, and Aegean seas. Consisting mainly of admittedly outclassed cruisers, the deployment seems to be more of a reminder of the guarantee rather than a defensive measure. Military analysts in training have been sent to Albania to not only train for planning in the war with Muqqadasia but also to aid Balkan analysts.
However, some Senators, as well as many civilians, say that the Balkans is not our problem. Senator Louise Pierre said about it, "We're fighting a war for our values and our survival. I stand with Balkans across the globe, but we shouldn't risk war with a strategic ally over them. The Balkans should be ceded so Olpen can stay safe." Another agreed, Senator Jill Simone saying "Our values of defending the globes free nations are important, but out victory in the war is more so."
Other politicians and civilians believe the opposite, saying that indeed Olpen should continue their defense of Balkan nations. Hugo Duval said after her press conference "It does not matter what situation we are in. If we do not stand with democracies across the globe, can we really say we're one?" Gabriela François of the Society for a Civilised Olpen said "We must stand with our fellow democracies. Strategic alliance should not exist if it is not too a moral alliance."

In the newest update by the military, it has been declared that the General of Jordan's forces surrendered. An Olpenese flag flies over Jeruselum as week long siege ends

It has been announced by the Department of Defense that Olpenese forces have taken the Muqqadasia state of Jordan following the unconditional surrender of the General leading the state's defense. It has also been announced that, with the aid of Laka, Jeruselum has been taken following a brutal siege. It is likely that Isreal will soon be taken.
The satellite shows that troops are already moving into Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Syria. It is likely that forces will try to rush Damascus before their population can be mobilized. Forces are nearing Daraa, which could be a vital supply hub useful to the taking of the rest of the state.
In Jeruselum, Military Police are roaming the streets, dealing with anti-Olpenese rebel groups. Jewish churches in the region are condemning the Olpenese and calling on their retreat and surrender, but so far no major rebellion has occurred. It is unknown if the Fascist Unifiers will enter, but no evidence has pointed either way.

Olpen Seeks to Build Missile Detectors in Galapagos

In a shocking turn of events, a leak from inside Facility X shows that the Ministry of Defense has asked it's Galapagosian equivalent if it was possible to construct anti-Ballistic Missile Station in the Andes Mountain range. This would mean that, for the first time since Galapagosian independence that Olpenese military bases are on Galapagosian soil.
Experts believe that Galapago's response could be either yes or no. As Olpen and the Galapagos fight together in the Western Entente - Najaf Compact War, their relationship has been growing warmer. It is possible that the government may see a continued partnership as beneficial, finally ending the years old grudge.
A missile base in the Andes would serve to defend Olpen on the Eastern front. It would also aid against any missiles fired from the North Pole. It would be the first-ever foreign missile base, as even Meretica does not have a station. Some believe Olpen may also have ambitions to build on in Africa.

Galapagos Accepts Olpenese Offer!

In a somewhat shocking event where the president declared that Olpen would be allowed to build military bases on Galapagosian soil the nation is divided. To many the war of independence still lingers in the air and while it not emphasized one cannot deny the Olpenese part in the occupation and brutal suppression of Galapagos culture and freedom.

This controversy is because that since the dismantling of all Olpenese military assets in the war of independence the Galapagos has retained a policy of unspoken detest of the Olpenese government as while not blatantly demonized like the Marjarhapians they are still shown in a bad light in schools and movies. However now with Olpenese membership in the KTO and troops fighting side by side relations have been higher than ever and with the UADC Southeast Marjarhapias final attempt at relevance crumbling the Galapagos has seen no reason to continue hostilities with previous occupiers.

There was however some clauses that the Galapagos government needs to be accepted for the plan to go ahead. The first one is that 5 Galapagos officers will be stationed in the base as to make sure there cannot be anyway this is turned against the Galapagos without prior knowledge. And two that the Olpenese will not be able to garrison anymore than 100 military personnel at the bases due to again fears that these may be used as spots for invasion. Other than that the Galapagos has set land aside for the construction and the government has approved it.

The Marajarbian Government has declared that, with a few certain compromises being made involving Emperor Thomas, it’s desire to hold a diplomatic summit with the nation known as Yitanka. The Marajarbian Government has declared this formally, primarily due to a need for new allies to exist in order to help rebuild some elements of the Marajarbian Economy after the long trade conflict with the Kalisight Treaty Organization and affiliated wars.

Surprised by the offer to meet at the negotiating table and makes any concessions, the Yitankan government accepts the Marajarbian proposal to hold a diplomatic summit. The meeting will be arranged to begin as soon as the Marajarbian representatives are ready. However, since the Marajarbian government is still classified as a terrorist organization at this time, the meeting could not take place in any of Yitanka's major cities. With the few helicopter landing capable ships Yitanka had currently unavailable and not trusting the Marajarbians enough to meet elsewhere, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the KoAnYi came to a compromise. The summit would take place on the far northern island of Aiyotau.

Coordinating with the Marajarbians, an icebreaker ship would pick up the delegates at a nearby foreign port of choice and bring them directly to the island for the meeting. The meeting would also be kept out of public knowledge until and unless a deal could be signed. The only thing left was to hope the Marajarbians were willing to negotiate to any reasonable degree.

The number of people who participated in the referendum is not enough to represent the entire population of 80 million Aursians, which means that the referendum is not organized according to the will of the people. If the government does not have sufficient evidence of the validity of the referendum, the Aquaria, or in the worst case, all member countries of the Kalisight Treaty Organization, may take action regarding the restoration of the Aursian monarchy which is proved as an anti-democracy action. According to the Treaty of Aurtumn, which was the treaty signed by the representative of the Marajarbian Federation, the Medinanist Republic of Muqaddasia, the Janpian United Revolutionary States, the Socialist Federative Republic of Aquaria, and finally Aursi under a temporary government, Aursi shall never be an absolute monarchy again, nor a one-party state or a dictatorship. While the creation of a constitutional monarchy with a democratic parliament may not be against the treaty, the creation of an absolute monarchy will be against it. The Aquaria would continue to observe whether the human rights and political rights of the people in Aursi deteriorate due to the restoration of the monarchy. At that time, we can say with certainty that the Aursian government has offended article 5 of the Treaty of Aurtumn for being a dictatorship, which may cause an intervention on the matter. The Federal Government of Aquaria would like Aursian President Ariza Inshirah to reconsider the serious decision she has just made, which may have serious consequences. If the Aursian Government could not prove whether the result of the referendum is by the Will of the People or not, do not say that your result is unpredictable, since we have already warned you. Earlier today - after much fighting - Armenian forces broke through Bulgarian defenses at Sofia and, at last, took the city...and with it - the entire country. In Yerevan - in front of a crowd of patriots and promoters of the Hrashali Gaghap’ar - His Majesty, with support of the church - proclaimed the formation of the 'Holy Armenian Empire' or, as it is commonly referred to by many, 'New Byzantium'...by all means, the legitimate successor to the Roman throne. In accordance with such - the Armenian government has 'officially' restored the extinct Palaiologos dynasty through Prince Hovhannes who - believe it or not - is of Greek heritage; his mother, the Queen consort Hera, having hailed from Athens. His Majesty is expected to abdicate the throne when his younger brother reaches 19 years of age - in 14 days or so.

The Armenian government has released statements against the suddenly hostile demeanor of South Olpen - threatening to 'immediately withdraw' all of its forces in Muqaddasia if they refuse to abandon the Balkans. In the meantime - Armenian troops are poised at the border with Romania...ready to advance were an attack to be made on Armenian soil.

Following 4 weeks of fighting the Rebels have been declared defeated across Cameroon. Sonakion and Cameroon forces plan large military parade across their respective nations in order to celebrate the brave men and women who have so effortlessly defeated the terrorists. Sonakion has also announced the beginning of the settlement of Sonakion companies within Cameroon with said companies promised to provide massive rates of employment and riches to the nation whilst not harming the native environment by using Sonakion methods proven to be as un-impacting as possible.

South-East Cameroon
The trek has been a grueling affair. The jungle was thick and muddy plants snapped off and snagged on their clothes, mosquitos buzzed around suddenly darting to take their blood, sweat poured down like heavy rain drenching them but providing no refreshment from the damp heat. A atmosphere of fear clouded them hugging ever tighter every step they took, it choked them and the continued idle cock of the Sonakion soldiers guns only made it worse. They continued on.

Through the thick jungle they could hear cries and heavy Breathing and the cracks of tools and the sound of vehicles occasionally even the sound of gunfire. They had been told it were other workers forging new roads through the jungle. No-one dared ask why didn't they help or travel on those roads. Especially no-one asked what they'd be working on.

The answer to that question took a long time to answer but answered it was. They did not know when but they soon felt cold concrete below their hard, rough feet and sounds of work coming ever closer. Soon they encountered vehicles and they'd step aside as it would idle past. Then they came to a stop.

A large stretch of road was before them which suddenly ended at a narrow river. Even now small huddles of people walked the road making adjustments and fixes.

A soldier the captain of their group went in front of the group. We were told to build a bridge following schematics that would be provided. We were given rest and told to begin work tomorrow.

Before we could all depart for much needed sleep another soldier went up to the captain whispering him something in that barbaric language of theirs. The captain would smile before calling one of my fellow prisoners up front. They were old 50 or so and tattered and bruised. Merely a villager who sheltered some fleeing Rebels. He had somehow survived the Sonakion onslaught on his village and been captured instead. He stumbled barely standing on his weak skinny legs bruises and cuts covering them like a second skin. The entire walk he had been at the back and ever more so lagging behind. The man would be half dragged half carried away from us and we were told to depart.

I struggled to go to sleep that night and when I woke up and went off to work I nearly got sick upon seeing the red still wet concrete. "We had been told that we either build the road or become the road". "Waste not want not" they had said.
If only I realised how true those words would be.

"Ok, here goes nothing." said Michael, as he got out of the car. "Charlie, time for the lights to go out." he said.

Charlie was in a nearby 24-hour diner, working on his laptop. He had hacked into the system, and managed to turns the bank's security system off. "Yup, you're clear." he said.

"That's the go sign, let's do this." whispered Michael to Hank and Jimmy, who were following him.

The trio made their way to the vault. "Right, Jimmy, do your thing." he said.

Jimmy was excited to be in his element. He drilled the side lock on the maintenance flap of the vault door. Then he began slowly pouring the liquid explosive into the mechanism chamber. "Right lads, let's get out here, I'm about to blow that big-ass vault door." exclaimed Jimmy, leaving the room where the vault entrance was, as the other two followed. A matter of seconds later the whole building shook, and a loud blast was heard coming from the vault. The three looked at each other in excited suspense.

"There's no way even that big old door could've withstood that!" said Hank.

"Let's find out." said Jimmy. So they made their way down to the smoke-filled vault room and there it was........ still in one piece.

"WHAT!" shouted Hank, before coughing from the smoke.

"Talk to me, what's going on?" asked Charlie over comms.

"The vault door survived the blast." said Michael in disappointment.

"What?!" shouted Mariana, who was still waiting in the car.

"Hang on, I know what happened!" exclaimed Jimmy, who had been inspecting the door since they entered the room. "The electronic protocols are still in place, they're designed to operate even if the physical mechanism is bust." explained Jimmy.

"Well, we don't even know what those are, how to hack them, I can't do anything if I don't know what the vault's electronic protocols are!" said Charlie, descending into panic.

"Boys, if it's a bust, get out of there before you get caught so I can kill Michael." said Mariana, in a tone making it hard to distinguish between sarcasm and seriousness.

"Don't go sharpening your axe just yet sweetheart." said Michael, taking a closer look at the vaults electronic keypad. Then, without explanation, he darted out of the still-smoky-room. Hank and Jimmy turned towards each other, shrugged and followed him. They caught up with Michael in the bank's lobby.

"Mate, what are you doing?" asked Jimmy.

"Yeah, what's going on? If you're not pulling the plug, why'd you leave?" asked Hank.

"To get this" Michael held up a defibrillator he had gotten from a first-aid station in the lobby.

"ohhhh" said Jimmy quietly, realizing Michael's plan. Hank was still confused, so Jimmy explained.

"He's going to overload the system with electricity." explained Jimmy

"Using this defibrillator, I can fry the electronic system on the vault door, rendering it useless." added Michael.

"Of course!" exclaimed Charlie over comms. "That'll cause a short circuit, meaning the circuit board inside the electronic access system wont work, so theoretically, you can just turn the wheel, and open the vault!" said Charlie.

"Theoretically?" said Mariana. "I'm not risking all this on a 'theoretically'" he added.

"Oh, come on, you know I always have a back-up plan that works" said Michael, now inside the vault room. "Alright, Hank gimme that screw driver, I need to remove the keypad to get to the circuit board." ordered Michael. Hank handed him the screwdriver, and Michael, removed the keypad cover, revealing an intricate mess of circuitry.

"The more voltage, the better." advised Jimmy.

Michael took a deep breath, and cocked his head slightly to the side, before saying; "Ok, here goes." He turned the machine on, and.. "BZZZZZZzzzzz AHHHHHHH!!!"

"Ahhhh!" screamed Hank.

"Michael!" yelled Jimmy.

"What! He electrocuted himself!!?!" shouted Charlie.

"WHAT?!" exclaimed Mariana.

"HA-HA-hahaha" laughed Michael, as he continued to laugh hysterically at their reactions to his little trick.

"Really mate? You nearly gave us a heart attack!" said Jimmy.

"Don't do that again man." said Hank, pounding his arm.

Charlie breathed a sigh of relief.

Mariana leaned back in her car and shook her head. "Damn it Michael, don't do that!" she yelled. "I thought you got electrocuted!" he added.

"I'm touched that you care." quipped Michael, as he put the defibrillator down. Mariana just rolled her eyes.

"All right guys, you ready?" he asked. Hank and Jimmy helped him turn a wheel on the vault. Then they heard a soft CLONK! coming from inside the door. The three men strained to open the heavy door. But eventually they managed to do it, they were rewarded with a beautiful sight: 20 million Traders in cold, herd cash.

"Is it there? Is the money there?" asked Charlie frantically.

"Michael?" asked Mariana.

"It's beautiful!" exclaimed Michael, taking in the sight.

"We did it!" shouted Hank.

"Yes!" Jimmy shouted.

"Mariana, fire up the getaway car!" said Michael, shoveling bundle of cash into duffel bags.

"What about the decoy money?" asked Hank, also filling up the bags with money.

"I thought you had it!" said Michael.

"Don't look at me." said Jimmy, helping load up the bags.

But before they could start with playing the blame game, something happened; "Guys, we got a problem!" warned Charlie over comms.

"What?" asked Michael.

"The smoke from the vault triggered a fire alarm."

"A smoke alarm? Are you kidding me?!" shouted Hank.

The alarms, bell-ringing, and the spray of the sprinklers outside in the lobby proved Charlie wasn't kidding. At this point Michael faced a choice, attempt to get more cash and cut it close with the get away, or play it safe and leave now.

"Get out of there!" yelled Mariana, waiting at a service entrance.

"Grab what we already have, and lets get out of here!" he yelled, grabbing the duffel bags and running, with the other two following suite. They ran out of there, getting drenched by the sprinklers, and bolted towards the exit where Mariana was waiting. The three got in the car with less than a dozen duffel bags filled with cash.

"Charlie, leave the diner, meet us at the garage." said Charlie. He sighed in desperation. His perfect heist done in by a stupid fire alarm.

The garage

"Breaking news from downtown Ventura Bay, firefighters responded to a fire alarm going off at the offices of Ventura Bank on Atlantic Avenue, only when they went inside they discovered that the vault was open, and cash littered out. Police are now on the scene, they are calling this a robbery attempt. No comment yet on whether this has any connection to the alleged fraud scheme involving this bank. On that subject, a court ruled today to dismiss the charges against those bank CEOs for a lack of evidence. This of course is bad news for those alleged victims of fraud, they can only get their money back if the financiers are proven guilty by the court. So-"

Michael turned the TV off. "Great! Now not only does the heist fall apart, but the bastards who took people's money are getting away scot-free!"

The crew were too mad, too disappointed to shout and blame each other. Until Mariana had enough of the melancholy silence. "It's his fault." she said dejectedly.

"My fault?!" responded Charlie indignantly.

"Yeah, if you had actually done your job right, you would've disabled the fire alarm!" she yelled.'

"Oh yeah, well, I'd like to see you bypass an industry-standard firewall with triple data protection, and top-of-the line encryption!" he replied.

"If Wile-E-Coyote here hadn't used too many ACME dynamite sticks, that wouldn't have been a problem!" shouted Hank.

"That worked didn't it!" shouted Jimmy back.

"No it didn't Michael had to fry the electronics for it to work!"

The four continued shouting at each other while Michael just held his head low in the corner. Would they get over their differences. Would the rich financiers ever be brought to Robin Hood-ian justice? Does this story have a happy ending? Find out next time on... THE HIGHWAY HEIST

MITHELDALOND TO HOST TRIAL OF OLPENESE WAR CRIMES

Officials announced today that a Mitheldalondian federal court is to hear the case of alleged war crimes being brought against the government of South Olpen by the Cylis Treaty and Arbitration Organization. Hearing the case will be Mitheldalond's first official action as an arbitrator for the CTAO's International Court of Arbitration, as well as the first war crime trial to be held by that court. The case is expected to set important precedents, and to play an important part in defining the role of the Court on the international stage.

The crimes in question are alleged to have occurred during the Western Entente's invasion of Muqqadasia, and represent only a part of the atrocities reported during the war. While the main focus of public attention and outrage has been on Armenia due to their leadership role in the International Humanitarian Coalition, "we've also been investigating potential crimes committed by Olpenese forces, and those of other nations," said a member of the investigation team. A team of special investigators from the CTAO has been looking into the events of the Muqqadasian war for some time. Now, with the conflict winding down, it appears they have completed their investigation, at least with respect to South Olpen.

When asked if charges would also be brought against Armenia, a representative indicated that any such proceedings would likely be delayed by recent events, presumably referring to Armenia's sudden invasion of multiple Balkan nations. There have already been reports of further Armenian war crimes during this new conflict, and investigators may wish to postpone a trial until they have had time to look into these new claims, possibly seeking to bring all charges at once rather than in two separate trials. In any case, the trial against South Olpen is scheduled to begin soon.

Meanwhile, Navy officials have stated that they will refrain from disclosing the findings of their own investigation into the sinking of the Wide Load and disappearance of Forward Onto the New Age until after the trial, in order to avoid influencing the Court's opinion one way or another.

[Gonswanza]

After a few delays with the sudden expansion of Armenia, the Gonswanzan ships deployed to Armenia are being recalled, though should they come under fire, they will retain a right to self-defense by striking back "tenfold" per some defense analysts. With that in mind, the retreat should go well. Hopefully.

In other news, reports have arisen of a Gonswanzan military operation within Wyoming, which involves the gathering of various religious groups and forced internment of said groups.

More images from Hawaii has been released showing resistance fighters combatting Peacekeepers and Gonswanzan infantry, along with a burning USCG cutter limping for a friendly port, with some lifeboats in the water along with burning scrap as well. It's more akin to an image of hope, showing that even in the most dire of circumstances, they can fight on. The Gonswanzans refuse to comment on that image, however.

Finally, Gonswanzan forces are en route to a small island in the arctic circle, keen on capturing it, though reinforcements are now en route to the area, to help secure the island with the interests of KTO in mind.

Olpen Organizes 'Tirana Conference'

Olpen has, with the cooperation of the Balkan nations, begun a conference in Tirana, Albania, that could prove the gateway to a defense of the region against Armenian aggression.

In Tirana, the Albanian capital, Olpen, along with Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia, and Croatia, have met to discuss how to best counter Armenian aggression. Following the forceful taking of Greece, Bulgaria, and Macedonia, Olpen guaranteed Balkan stability. Olpen also placed a small fleet of outdated cruisers in the Ionian, Adriatic, and Aegean Seas.
While the conference is still in session, it seems like it is possible that the Conference could result in a defensive treaty organization. The leaders of Croatia, Bosnia, and Romania have already announced that they would defend any Balkan state from Armenian aggression. For the first time since the disintegration of Yugoslavia, it seems that the Balkans are closer than ever to uniting, once again around a common enemy in Armenia.
The New France National Guard, consisting mostly of green recruits with outdated tanks and artillery, has been allowed to reside in military bases in Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, and Romania. At this time, it is not known if Olpen will place troops in these locations. Doing so could provoke our Armenian allies, but at the same time, it is unclear if these countries could withstand an attack long enough for Olpenese troops to make it to the Balkans and save them.

Unifiers Continue to Grow

The rising fascist group, the Party for National Unity, called the Unifiers after its paramilitary, continues to grow.

The new National Unity Party, which some have begun calling the Unifiers after its paramilitary, has continued its massive growth. Only 20 days ago, the National Unity Party was at only 3.3 percent support. Today, the party numbers are 41,692,224 or about 4.2% of the population. The party youth group, the Children of National Unity, almost numbering at 2 million children. The Unifier paramilitary has almost six million applicants, and about 1 million have already joined.
Despite being a small minority, they are very vocal. Protests are already being held in major cities for the Unifiers to be given a voice in politics. Some even say they should be put in charge of the Egyptian state that will be formed after the peace treaty. Others oppose this, saying that the Unifiers have clear stances that would turn Egypt into a second Galapagos, or worse.
