NZ-formed gangs largely expelled after successful Police, intelligence operation
Christchurch, Drongonia
September 5, 2022 | Richard Barlow

Image
Police raided a rural property 50km south of Richmond as part of a
wider crackdown on gang activity.

During a press conference today, Police Minister Karen Knight and Police National Commander Peter Leyland fronted the media to disclose details about the Police-led crackdown on New Zealand gangs.

The months-long operation, which can now be identified publicly as Operation Drawbridge, involved the Police, both Immigration Drongonia and Immigration New Zealand, City and District Councils, and intelligence agencies such as the DSSB. The operation began in late-January this year and concluded "...much earlier than expected", according to Police.

TVDG can now reveal that the operation resulted in over 300 arrests, with 263 of those being New Zealand nationals living in Drongonia. Immigration Drongonia reported that of the 263 arrested, 261 have been deported with the remaining two awaiting trial in Nelson. Law enforcement and crime experts say such a high deportation rate is unusual for an operation of this scale, however, the newly-released operation plan reveals that the deportations had been pre-planned with Immigration New Zealand prior to the commencement of the operation.

Police have been quick to point out, however, that their enforcement against organised crime has not ended. "These packs of thugs shouldn't rest easy. We're not going to stop going after gangs if and when they rear their ugly heads, ever. This operation, while successfully having wiped out what we estimate is about ninety percent of their infrastructure and manpower, is not the be-all-end-all of anti-gang enforcement in Drongonia." Commander Leyland said during the press conference. Police Minister Knight added, "The fight against organised crime is an ongoing one, and its one we're willing to fight - and be winning, forever."

A confidential source close to the New Zealand-based Mongrel Mob told TVDG that the gang is "reeling internally" as "...several major players were arrested. Big people with big influence." One such individual believed to have been arrested was Hemi "Spitty" Matuawhenua, longtime member and leader of the Coromandel chapter of the gang. Insiders told TVDG he was sent by Mongrel Mob leaders to oversee the Drongonian operations before being caught up in the busts.

It has been estimated that during the raids and roadside searches conducted under the operation's umbrella, Police seized illicit substances with a street value of over $110m, more than 100 illegal firearms, $33.5m in illegal currency, $450,000 in counterfeit New Zealand and Drongonian currency, stolen property and retail goods with a value of over $20m, as well as several stolen vehicles.

Transit workers in three Agausian cities approve strike
Author: Valent́ina Bonḱa
Monday September 5, 2022

Image

Romda - The Trade Union Federation of Transport and Road Workers, an affiliate of the Agausian Federation of Christian Workers, voted last week whether or not the union would go on strike. Union representatives have cited low salaries and poor working conditions are the reasoning behind their decision in favor of the measure.

On Monday the Ministry of Health, Social and Labor Protections confirmed that the union had voted in favor by a margin of 83% for and 17% against. The ministry ultimately sympathized with strikers but described their move as poorly timed and disastrous for the average day Agausian.

The strike will involve public transport workers from Agausia's three most populated cities, Tamara, Romda, and Mšbuḱâ. Strikers will gather in Tamara, the nation's capital, and plan to protest in front of the Agausian parliament.

Chairman St́epan Giorgini, current leader of the trade union, spoke to reporters hours before the ministry's official announcement. "The demands of our movement is clear, salaries must be raised to compensate for inflation, workers should be properly compensated for overtime, and overall working conditions must be improved."

The Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure and Development, which is responsible for the agencies that oversee public transportation, did not immediately respond to questions and have made no comments. The vote follows weeks of failed negations between union reps and the ministry.

Leaked records suggest Mayor of Mšbuḱâ involved in financial crimes
Author: Tsëzaris Ḱant́oni
Thursday September 8, 2022

Image

Mšbuḱâ - Less than two weeks after winning reelection, Mayor Detsëbali Soboli, is currently fighting for his political life after documents were leaked online which appears to show the mayor engaging in a number of financial crimes including accepting bribes and misusing campaign funds.
block

In August Soboli won his 2022 reelection with 42% of the vote. Soboli has been mayor of the city of Mšbuḱâ since 2018, when he flipped the city in favor of the Social Democratic party. It has been a stronghold of the SD since then. Prior to being elected mayor Soboli was a Progressive Democratic MP in the 5th Agausian Parliament. He lost his reelection bid in 2002. In 2010 the future mayor switched his party identification to Social Democrat before running for a seat in the regional council in 2013. He won and served until 2018, when he decided to run for mayor.
block

The records, which were leaked on social media and sent to multiple news agencies, appear to show that Detsëbali Soboli took bribes and kickbacks for providing contracts to local and international businessmen. The files, which date back to 2016 also allege that the mayor has repeatedly and indiscriminately used campaign funds to buy everything from mundane items to family vacations in Istanbul.
block

A statement provided from the mayor's office states that many of the alleged purchase were, "obscure, vague, and or taken out of context." No explanation was provided for the alleged bribes, kickbacks, or family vacations. At the time of publication, no investigations have been announced into the mayor's finances.

Man wins court case after dismissal for posting "far right content" during work hours
Nelson, Drongonia
September 9, 2022 | Amy Prince

Image
The man was dismissed in May
for his posting activity.

A 24 year old Nelson man has won a court case against his employer following what his legal counsel argued was an "unjust and discriminatory dismissal" from the software company Zomworx.

The man, who applied for perpetual name suppression, was dismissed by his employer after an internal investigation showed he was using company time to post what Zomworx described as "unacceptable far-right content" on websites such as Peaker and Kiwifarms.

However, the Nelson District Court ruled that while the man was posting at work, he was using his break times, during which he was not paid by the company, nor expected to complete company directives. Additionally, the man presented evidence to the court that he was using his device and mobile data connection to make the posts, therefore not utilising company resources for means deemed unacceptable by his employment agreement.

Nelson District Court Judge Erin Bacher ruled that the posts the man was making "while uncomfortable reading for the majority of people, were protected as free speech under the Bill of Rights Act." Although the exact wordings of the posts were not released to the media, Zombworx's legal team alluded to them being "extremely racist, xenophobic and anti-Semitic in nature" in documents submitted to the court.

Bacher ruled that Zombworx is now liable to pay court costs, as well as the man's full wages from the date of his termination in early May this year, up until the ruling date. Zombworx is also required to pay the man $3,026.54 in costs associated with pursuing employment elsewhere. An additional claim for emotional damage was dismissed by the court.

In Bacher's ruling, she summarised by noting that while "it is unlikely Zombworx were acting maliciously, the company has provided insufficient evidence that the employment agreement entered between Zombworx and Mr. [REDACTED] was being breached in a way which would constitute grounds for a fair and just dismissal."

Prime Minister Frank Burk has recently paid his respects to Queen Elizabeth II, after Her Majesty's recent passing at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The PM released a statement, expressing his condolences to the Royal Family. In his press release, Burk wrote "My deepest condolences are with King Charles III, and the entire Royal Family." Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Sports boasts "favorable enrollment rates"
Author: St́epanâ Šurigini
Saturday September 10, 2022

Image

Tamara - With Agausia's school year entering its third week on Monday, the Agausian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Sports released a report detailing that enrollment rates in all schooling levels, including post-secondary, have reported above average numbers. On Friday Minister Anamarâ Nëmet́i appeared before the Agausian parliament to ask for an increase in funding in order to compensate for the "favorable enrollment rates" and the strain it might cause on the Agausian education system.

block

The report states that regional instability, the cost-of-living crisis, an increase in immigration, and "an improving educational climate" as factors behind the dramatic uptick in enrollment. However, the report does not specifically mention the war in Ukraine or the aggressive stance of Russia as reasons behind the number of students who decided not to travel abroad for post-secondary opportunities.

block

Ganmanatleblobis University Rector, Vasili Borodëž, told Tamara Ǵes that enrollment in his school is up. "We are seeing more applications and enrollment has been strong. There were also many students who decided to reverse their decisions about studying in other countries. I believe overall this will be beneficial to the Agausian economy. Over the years we have seen an enormous amount of brain drain, and if we can encourage young Agausians to begin lives in their beautiful home country it will only benefit us all."

block

Despite the good news, there have been harsh criticisms of Agausian education in past years. An international report published in 2018 was quoted as saying, - lack of funds and little opportunities post-graduation have created an apathetic school environment.

Anjung Motor now leads the Batuan automotive export market – 3,018 units exported throughout 2021, up 100%!

Image
In a statement issued today regarding its sales performance for 2021, Anjung Motor announced that they had exported 3,108 units of vehicles throughout the past year. This figure not only shows an increase of more than 100% compared to the previous year, but Anjung Motor also claims that they are now the "best-selling automotive brand in terms of exports" in the country.

According to Anjung Motor again, their best-selling model, the Anjung Motor Alhamra, managed to sell 42,627 units out of a total of 114,708 vehicles sold last year, and that number includes the Alhamra units sent as CKD packs abroad.

At the end of last year, Anjung Motor aimed to further expand its export market with the introduction of various models in foreign markets. Bookings for the Anjung Motor Province opened in Saltbridge in November 2020, followed by continued exports of the Alhamra and Atroia to Stevencousin, as well as the export of the Rainstorm CKD pack to be assembled and sold in Fallenstorm. 2021 is quite difficult for the automotive industry as a whole and this is clearly seen in the decline in global-wide. From the global chip supply crisis to the increase in high-infected disease cases that caused workforce interruption and the increase in shipping costs, there are many challenges that need to be overcome. Therefore, Anjung Motor's achievement in increasing sales compared to last year is very significant because it is due to careful planning and the use of existing resources.

"We are proud to be the automotive brand with the most export sales in 2021 because it proves that the joint efforts of the international sales department and overseas partners are very effective. Although the increase in transportation costs is quite worrying, the plans that have been made for 2022 allow us to expect the increase in export sales to be driven in the coming year," said Mr. Osman Hamzah, Chief Marketing Officer, Anjung Motor.

Supermarketers are increasingly immersing themselves in the use of artificial intelligence, says study

Image

The supermarket and retail sector is increasingly immersed in the main trends and innovations in Zecrarth, such as the use of artificial intelligence to improve and guarantee a satisfactory consumer experience. This is how Dr. Wan Alimuddin, an e-commerce expert and director of the Fitscore IX consultancy, refers to it, author of a study that reveals the main trends in the sector and that will be presented at Market Fest 2022, which will take place on September 14 and 15 at the Mahkota Alam Convention Center.

The increasingly imperative use of artificial intelligence to generate more personalized and memorable experiences in consumers is what was diagnosed in the study that indicates that 3 out of 4 executives in the region plan to use artificial intelligence (AI) strategies to provide more personalized experiences for consumers.

“A good offer is one that is based on personalized and effective communication for the client. Because if I pass on an offer on diapers to a customer who doesn't have children, not only is he not going to buy it, but he's going to be annoyed and thus miss out on a valuable opportunity to connect with the customer, plus it's an expense of resources for the company. It was what he mentioned in a preview of what his dissertation will be in the framework of the expo and during the Market Fest, organized by the Batuan Chamber of Supermarkets (DPPSAB - Dewan Perniagaan Pasaraya Seluruh Anjung Batu), with the theme Innovation and Trends in Retail and Logistics Tech.

“In an increasingly near future, artificial intelligence will be an intrinsic part of business strategy. And we can say this because 36% of executives are thinking about implementing AI strategies in the retail industry. This represents 3 out of 4 executives from Zecrarth,” she added. To Dr. Wan Alimuddin added that the premise behind this is that the customer has a more personalized shopping experience, which is achieved with effective communication in order to reach customers with discounts and offers with the products or services that they really need. they want to buy, he asserted.

Anjung Post chairman: Allegations of political interference in Anjung Post 'baseless'

Image

Anjung Post Media Group chairman Kamar Memanda Alauddin denied allegations of political interference in the appointment of Intan Terpileh as the new editor of the APM (Anjung Post) group. In a statement last night, Kamar Memanda described the allegation as "unfortunate" and "absolutely baseless". "I would like to completely deny any statement that either the government or any political party was involved in this appointment or any other decision made by Anjung Post regarding its business.

"For the record, Anjung Post is not owned nor does it have to answer to any political party, as stated in recent news reports or otherwise," he said. He claimed Barisan Rakyat figure Dato' Anuar Brahimian, who is a significant shareholder in the group of companies, has a "great track record in turning around troubled business conditions" - with Anjung Post posting profits in eight consecutive quarters after incurring losses for about three last year. Yesterday, President Haji Khahar Haji Mokhtaruddin said the government has never interfered in the operations of media organizations and has no intention of doing so.

He however refused to comment on the alleged interference in Intan's appointment. Anjung Post online edition understands that a petition signed by Anjung Post staff was handed over to Haji Khahar Haji Mokhtaruddin at an event in Anjung Hilir, two days ago. Kamar Memanda explained the editorial direction and "efforts towards synergy to improve the end result" are constantly re-evaluated by the Anjung Post management under the supervision of its board of directors.

"This assessment aims to increase the visibility and number of readers of Anjung Post, with the expectation that it will be a catalyst for sustainable profit and development. "The turnover of staff, especially at the executive level in our talent pyramid is an inevitable part of the assessment made. These appointments are always made entirely on the basis of merit. "On this basis, the management appointed Intan as the editor-in-chief of the new group," he added.

He also brought up Intan's experience of more than 20 years in the field of journalism. Last Tuesday, Anjung Post announced that Intan would replace Imran Megat Alamshah for the position effective yesterday. The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) yesterday urged the management of Anjung Post to address all related concerns raised as it involves the reputation and integrity of the media, with a history of 177 years in the field of journalism.

Tech giant Dell to close Carterton factory at years' end, nearly 800 to be left jobless
Nelson, Drongonia
September 17, 2022 | Dan Erickson

market. Photo // File

US-based multinational technology giant Dell has announced today that it will be closing its Carterton factory on December 30th this year, the largest computer manufacturing facility in the Southern Hemisphere.

Dell's Head of Asia Pacific Operations Gary Nelson said in an interview with TVDG that the decision to close the factory "wasn't easy" but that it was a "necessary step for the company to take in the face of a more competitive market."

The Carterton factory, which currently employs over 1,000 people, began construction in 1999 and was completed in 2001. It currently produces approximately 350,000 laptops and 300,000 desktop computers per year, as well as serving as a logistics and customer support hub for the Drongonian, New Zealand, Australian, Cancolastani and Norcott markets.

It is understood that corporate staff, which comprise under 20% of the facility's employees, will be given the opportunity to relocate to Dell's other Drongonian offices to continue their roles. However, the future remains uncertain for manufacturing and other floor staff, with no other Dell factories currently in operation in Drongonia or New Zealand and the company being yet to announce the construction of any.

The facility's 300 employees were notified of the decision last week, according to internal memos leaked to TVDG. Drongonia-based rival, Peak Computing, is understood to have offered pay-matched manufacturing positions in its nearby factory to nearly fifty of those laid off, but the company's CEO Zane Wakefield said in a Peaker post "there's only so much we can do to blunt the impact on Carterton, and Dell's employees."

Carterton's mayor, Andy Golding, took to social media to make his thoughts on the matter apparent. "Dell's decision is obviously motivated by profits, but the social impact here is immense. Carterton is a beautiful city full of opportunity for those who find themselves unemployed, but in the meantime it's possible families will be going without, kids will be going to school hungry, and that's something they [Dell] have to live with", the mayor posted on Facebook.

Market analysts believe the move is due to the recent price drops on rival Hewlett-Packard and Drongonia-based Peak desktops and laptops. Hewlett-Packard committed to fixing the price of their computer and printing products in the face of inflation earlier this year, and Peak has dropped the RRP price of their units by 10 - 15% across their range. It has been speculated that Dell was unable to compete on price when manufacturing in Drongonia, and is choosing to move production overseas in an effort to drop its consumer-facing prices.

United Alliance makes shift to the right
Author: Danâ Ličeli

Tamara - With the runoff presidential election at the end of September and the parliamentary elections in November one thing is becoming increasingly clear, there is a large fraction of United Alliance (GA) members whose political ideology have shifted to the right.

block

August's regional elections, which elected city mayors and regional governors, demonstrated this historical shift. Agausians in the Mtavari Iḱ region they chose to elect Agausian Liberal (AL) Soso Gognâ rather than incumbent Ḱet́ Olëniḱi (GA).

block

Polling following the first round of the presidential election also indicates that Kasrâni (AL) is leading in 5 of the 9 districts that voted for Ramont́i (GA) in the first round. There have been murmurings within the right leaning fraction of the party who have been talking about having party elections to replace Kalul Ramont́i as leader of the United Alliance after November's election.

block

Ramont́i initially joined the party in 2000, when he left the Progressive Democratic Party. In 2018 he was elected party chair and has served in that position since. Irine Anidaže, a regional councilor from the Mtavari Iḱ who is currently running for parliament, is leading the fraction of right leaning members of the United Alliance. She is a likely contender for party chair if elections were to ensue.

Annaul Naval Exercises to Commence Next Week
Honolulu, Oahu
Published On: 20 September | Authored By: Michael Greene

The annual RIMPAC exercises are set to commence next week, while the United States and allies actively ignore protests from the Soviet Union and the Communist Bloc.

RIMPAC, otherwise known as the Rim of the Pacific Exercise, is an annual military exercise conducted by the naval forces of multiple Federation members in the Pacific region of the Orion Arm. RIMPAC is, in essence, designed to test the preparedness and skills of the Federation’s Naval Fleets during varying combat simulations. This usually includes exercises that emphasize naval combat, planetary invasions and sieges, as well as testing supply and logistics. The RIMPAC exercises have traditionally included the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australasia, Korea, Japan, and the Republic of China. This year, however, marks the first time that Sagaria and Vietnam will participate in the RIMPAC exercises, as both nations have traditionally conducted separate joint naval exercises with the United Kingdom, United States, and Australasia.

In this year’s RIMPAC, Amauritan servicemembers from every branch of the U.S military are set to participate in the exercises. The largest share of personnel will come from the United States Navy, with the Third, Fifth and Seventh Fleets, of the United States Pacific Fleet. The Navy’s sub branch, the United States Marine Corps, will be deploying its I and III Expeditionary Corps. The United States Army confirmed that it too will participate, deploying the 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th Infantry Divisions. The Air Force announced that it will send its 64th Aviation Division and 32nd Air Defense Division as well.

Not all have shared the same enthusiasm, however. The Soviet Union has repeatedly condemned the joint naval exercises held by the Federation since their inception, after the Federation refused to allow the Soviet Union and other members of the Communist Bloc from participating in RIMPAC. In the past, Soviet Premier Vladimir Sokolovesky has accused the Federation of United Nations of preparing to wage war on the Soviet Union and the Communist Bloc, this year being no different. Although the RIMPAC exercises have never caused a genuine conflict between the two organizations, tensions came extremely close to boiling over into open hostilities several years ago, when the Soviet Navy deployed the Soviet Union’s 2nd Pacific Fleet to intercept vessels of the Australasian Navy’s 44th Expeditionary Squadron.

Aioviḱara lands in London for Queen's funeral
Author: T́anâ Amkvevi

Tamara - On Monday 19 September 2022 the Agausian President Simon Aioviḱara, along with a long list of dignitaries from across the world, attended the state funeral of Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom. The service was held at the historic Westminster Abbey in the City of Westminster, London, England.

block

The Agausian Head of State departed Mogzûri International Airport early Monday morning and landed in London a few hours later. Once there Aioviḱara reportedly met with a list of other heads of state. Aioviḱara was photographed with President Maia Sandu of Moldova, President Bajram Begaj of Albania and President Emmanuel Macron of France.

block

Like most other world leaders President Aioviḱara was bussed to the Queen's funeral. After the service Aioviḱara spent a few more hours in London before he flew back to Agausia. This will likely be the president's last international trip of his first term. This could potentially be Aioviḱara's last foreign trip as president. On Saturday Aioviḱara will face his main opponent in a runoff election that will determine Agausia's president for the next five years.

block

Upon hearing the news about Queen Elizabeth's death President Simon Aioviḱara wrote on social media, "Following the death of Queen Elizabeth we must reflect on her historical reign, in which the queen dedicated her life to the throne and her people. My prayers and condolences go to the British people and to all the peoples and governments of the Commonwealth of Nations."

Automaker Durant Wins Federal Contract
Amherst, Huron
Published On: Friday, 23 September | Authored By: Henry James

The automobile manufacturing giant Durant was awarded a significant contract by the United States Department of Justice this week as the Department seeks to update its fleet of vehicles.
Image
Federal Police purchased a new fleet of 2024 Washoes.

While the Durant Washoe has been a favorite for federal agencies for several years now, the 2024 Washoe is the second generation of all electric vehicles used by Federal Law Enforcement. The 2024 Durant Washoe is also the fastest model yet, accelerating from 0 kilometers per hour to 100 kilometers per hour in approximately five seconds. With a battery capable of a six hundred kilometer range, that can be charged within sixty minutes, the 2024 Washoe is certainly an excellent fit for law enforcement at every level of government.

The Department of Justice purchased 100,000 of the 2024 Washoe, 60,000 of which will be delivered to the United States Federal Police, the primary federal law enforcement agency in the nation. An additional 20,000 will be delivered to the United States Federal Transit Police, the primary law enforcement agency on federal railroads, freeways, and in airports. An additional 20,000 will be delivered to other varying Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, such as the United States Capitol Police, the Federal Investigation Bureau, among other Federal Agencies. With each new 2024 Washoe costing approximately 60,000 U.S Thallers, the Department of Justice would have to shell out nearly six billion Thallers. However, under the contract signed, the Durant Corporation agreed to a apply a fifteen percent discount for the Department, bringing the acquisition cost down to 5.1 billion UST.

The 2024 Durant Washoe has proved popular beyond the Federal Government, as State and Local Agencies have lined up to purchase batches of the new sports utility vehicle. As of writing, the 2024 Durant Washoe has been purchased for the State Police in Alderney, Kalinea, Texas, Flaurita, Georgia, and Ohio; as well as the Police Departments in the Federal District of Columbia, Gotham, Los Prados, Los Santos, Annapolis, and Augusta. The civilian variant has also proved extremely popular, with orders flowing in from all over the nation.

Incumbent makes history winning second term
Author: Adam Vasilčuḱi
Saturday, September 24, 2022

Image

Tamara - The results of the second round of the Agausian presidential election have revealed a historic result. It appears that incumbent Simon Aioviḱara has won reelection. Making him the only president in modern Agausian history to win reelection. On the last Saturday in August both Simon Aioviḱara (SD) and Niḱolâ Kasrâni (AL) advanced to the second round, winning 42 and 38 percent respectively. The second round, which concluded on 24 September 2022, revealed that each candidate had gained ten percent of the vote, earning 52 and 48 percent respectively.

block

Addressing his supporters in the city of Odssa, Agausian Liberal candidate Niḱolâ Kasrâni, conceded the race but stressed that the work of the party and of the National Coalition was not over. "Sadly, it appears that the political machine of the left has managed to receive another mandate. We now must look towards the November elections. Brave Agausians can still come together to send candidates of the National Coalition to parliament. Still, I must congratulate the president on his win. I hope he helps the people during his historic second term. If he doesn't, we [the current opposition] will."

block

In Tamara, from the Palace of Klementina, President Simon Aioviḱara made a televised statement. He used the moment to thank his supporters and promised "positive change." Aioviḱara, like Kasrâni, stressed the importance of November's elections for the future of Agausia.

block

The president also revealed that he would not appoint a prime minister or cabinet until results of the November elections. This means that Nebisḱopa and her current cabinet will remain in a caretaker position. At the time it is unclear if Nebisḱopa will be tapped for the position yet again. She has been PM since December 2015, yet she has faced harsh criticism recently in her government's inability to solve many of the nation's problems.

block

Current polls indicate that the government, and its supporting parties, have a slight lead. This means that a Social Democratic government is likely, but a coalition government could be necessary for the left to retain power.

Zlat́ḱovi rejects Russia's annexation referendums
Author: Danâ Ličeli

Tamara - Over the weekend Dimit́ri Zlat́ḱovi (SD) Agausian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Integration made a three-country tour conducting business for the Agausian state. Zlat́ḱovi met with his counterparts in Bulgaria, Hungary, and Slovakia. The minister's last stop was the central European state of Slovakia where he met with Ivan Korčok, the Slovakian foreign affairs minister.

block

While in Brat́islava the Agausian minister attended a press event, which is rare for the aloof Zlat́ḱovi who normally sends the deputy minister to press events. At home Dimit́ri Zlat́ḱovi is known as a loner and a skilled negotiator. At the press event a Slovakian member of the press asked about Agausia's position on the referendums planned in the war-torn provinces of eastern Ukraine.

block

Minister Dimit́ri Zlat́ḱovi's answer to the reporter was a strong rebuke of Russia's actions in Ukraine. "The answer is simple. In accordance with international laws and in line with our national and state interests, the complete and total preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations is paramount. Agausia cannot accept the results of these referendums in Donetsk Lugansk or any other regions which rightfully belong to Ukraine." In response Korčok affirmed his nation's dedication to the same pledge.

block

Zlat́ḱovi, while in Bulgaria and Hungary and Slovakia, also discussed trade partnerships and security procedures. In Sofia the minster signed a deal extending an international educational program.

Violetist Terrorist Group attacks Lionville

28 September 2041
9:15 AM
Sunday
Yesterday, a terrorist group known as the "Violetist Liberators" has attacked Lionville. The attack happened at about 4:30 AM. The residents of Lionville heard gunfire in the streets. One such resident, Lucas Krymero, has given an eyewitness account of what happened next. He says, "It was 4 AM and I heard a bunch of gunfire outside. I opened the window and saw a bunch of masked dudes with guns running around. They were shooting and ruining the whole place. On the other side, I saw a bunch of soldiers trying to stop them. I was terrified as the shots were getting dangerously close. I immediately closed the windows and locked all the doors. I was hoping that some of those soldiers would get those rebels out of here. I stayed in the house for about 3 hours until the gunfire stopped. I looked outside and there were many bodies lying there."

Eventually, the Mughal Chads Armed Forces, assisted by The Order of The Falcon, pushed the Violetists out of the city. The casualties were 15 soldiers dead, 13 injured and 5 civilians killed. The government is now taking precautionary measures and is setting up defences around the city to avoid disaster.

Tensions Rise between East Lankia and Rehaajl, possible war in near Future

Tensions are Rising Between East Lankia and it’s closest Neighbor, Rehaajl, After a Terrorist Attack in East Lankia that almost destroyed the Capital Building, The East Lankan president has reported the Following Statement:

East Lankia is not in Danger at the Moment, Citizens have nothing to fear of Airplanes following through the houses tonight, we have reason to believe those Damn Rehaajlians have attacked us, but don’t worry, our Military is currently mobilized into Defense Mode, so if they try to make a move, we’ll be ready.

Experts say that only minutes before the Plane would’ve reached the Capital Building that the Terrorist was overpowered by a Crew Member, the crew member in question, named James Miller, is reported to have suddenly jumped behind the Terrorist, killing him and Saving the Plane, unfortunately the Terrorist had killed the Pilot, and now no one knew how to fly the plane, it crashed only a few minutes later in the Capital City of New Toron.

After a Autopsy by Lankan officials, and inspection of the Plane, officials found that the Plane has been flying from the Capital City of Rehaajl to New Toron, when a Terrorist from Rehaajl took control of the plane, and threatened to destroy the Capital Building if his demands weren’t met.

Over 412 People died or were Injured in the Attack, mostly civilians who had been driving on road where the Plane Crashed at.

Tensions Still Rising Between East Lankia and Rehaajl, Peace Talks may take Place Soon, but Tensions are still in the Way.

Tensions continue to Rise between East Lankia and its Neighbor, Rehaajl, the Two Nations have been at Each-others necks for the Past Weeks, and was is still a Looming possibility, a few days ago the Government of East Lankia released the statement saying that Peace Talks would begin between Representatives of both Nations, and these peace talks were hopefully going to help Relations better between the two nations, with the Government saying:

We believe that Starting Peace Talks with Rehaajl with help ease our Tensions with each other, there Government has already agreed to send there own Representative, and we will soon begin the Talks

Citizens across the Nation are still Skeptical of the Rehaajlians though, with many of them saying they’d rather destroy them then work with them, if East Lankia we’re to get involved in a War with Rehaajl, it would be the First conflict they have gotten involved in for over 50 years of Peace.

The Government is Still Pressing to Ease Tensions with Rehaajl, but that doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon, Yesterday Night a East Lankian Navy Ship shot down a Civilian Passenger plane from Rehaajl that had been flying to Martenyika, they reported that they were sure it was a Invading Military Plane, and shot it down out of Instinct almost.

The Rehaajlian Government was Furious after finding out about this, they stated that the Ship knew it was a Civilian plane, and shot it down out of Hatred against the Rehaajlian, they were even more furious about the fact that, if several coincidental events hadn’t taken place, the Leaders Son would’ve been on that Plane for a Diplomatic Mission, which made them more furious.

After the Incident the President of East Lankia came out to make a speech, saying:

I am very sorry to the Rehaajlian people who had to die on that flight, we are doing everything in our Power to make sure our Navy never makes a mistake like this again, and we are thankful the Leaders Son wasn’t on that plane, our Sincerest Apologies to the Rehaajlian Government.

This is all the News we have right now on the Issue, but let’s hope war doesn’t start soon.

Aumbura Bans Fascist and Autocratic Political Parties
-
Article By: Jacub Bromit

Following a vote of 89 to 11, Aumbura's parliament has officially levied a ban against any political parties that advocate for fascist, or autocratic values. The ban does not make it illegal to be a supporter for advocate for these ideologies, rather it renders any official political party that runs on them illegitimate and ineligable to officially run in elections.

The decision comes shortly after last week's riots in Drosda, when which far-right gang members attacked local minorities, and destroyed government property. Following the attacks, many of those arrested expressed feeling inspired by Nazism, and the values of The Homeland Party, a far-right political party known for advocating against immigration, and equal rights for members of the LGBTQ+ Community.

The Homeland Party has since been made illegitimate following the passing of this new law, with party leader Dorymer Wenzag, currently under investigation for inciting the riots, expressing great dissatisfaction with the ruling.

"This is socialism at its most vile, evil, and tyrannous," Said Wenzag. "This violates my right to speak, and my right to defend and advocate for my country."

Conversely, President Leland Friece praised the law.

"With this law, Aumbura only becomes safer," said Friece. "Democracy cannot survive if we allow autocracy to be viewed as legitimate. To stay in power, democratic parties must be elected again, and again, and again. Autocratic parties only need to win once. If you care about the voice of the people, you'll protect it with all the force you can muster."

The new law is nearly identical to that of Germany's ban against extremist parties.

Parliament member Eva Farut called the country an inspiration.

"Germany's laws regarding things like Nazism most definitely helped drive our decision forward," said Ferut.

Tamara - In a speech by Vladimir Putin on 21 September 2022, up to 300,000 Russian military reservists could be called up to fight, in what is being called a "partial mobilization" as part of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. In advance of the speech online searches in Russia for information about how to leave the country spiked dramatically.

In the days following the announcement one-way plane ticket prices for flights leaving Russia skyrocketed and or largely sold out, there were also long queues at border crossings into Kazakhstan, Georgia and Mongolia. Both airports in Agausia plus all ferry lines to and from Russia also saw a large uptick in passengers.

On Friday Minister of Internal Affairs, Regional development, Tourism and Local economies Vasili Nëmet spoke about the recent increase immigration from Russia at a scheduled hearing with the Agausian Parliament. Minister Nëmet reported that in the month of September Agausia welcomed nearly a thousand Russian nationals.

In his report to parliament the minister also stated that nearly half of those who immigrated into Agausia have use the Repatriation policy of 1995 in order to fast track Agausian citizenship. In 1995 parliament passed a number of laws which substantially expanded the process of housing exchange from Russia and other republics of the former Soviet Union back to Agausia, as well as the process of purchasing housing in Agausia for people of Agausian descent who wanted to settle in Agausia.

In the ministry's address to parliament Minister Nëmet also spoke about the financial burden these new residents may put on the state, but also the tax revenue that new citizens will add to the Agausian treasury.

Labour-Green bloc's "anti-fascism" bill struck down in Parliament after first reading

Labour leader Sarah Ellice said she was "disappointed, but not entirely surprised" that a Labour-Green written law which supporters say would "strengthen democracy while rooting out extremist elements" was struck down 63-57 after its first reading in Parliament yesterday.

The Anti-Political Extremism Bill 2022, dubbed as the "Anti-fascism Act" by Green Party leader Dianne Fitzgerald, closely mirrored the wording and legislative structure of Germany's ban on what it defines as politically extremist parties. The bill was originally drafted in March 2021, following protests regarding the controversial People's Front-sponsored "White Drongonia" anti-immigration legislation, which did not make it through Parliament in the end. Political pundits widely agreed that the Bill was aimed at the People's Front party, as well as more conservative and nationalist elements of the ruling National Party.

During debating time, opponents of the Bill pointed to examples in the United Kingdom, where the Electoral Commission is free to impose tighter restrictions on the registration of political parties, and is able to do so based on critical elements of the party's formation such as its principles and constitution. The bill's supporters, however, largely argued that a degree of control over the electoral process is required to maintain a functional democracy.

Prime Minister English spoke during in opposition of the Bill, calling it "authoritarian nonsense" and warning the left bloc that "if this bill had passed, who's to say it couldn't be used against you [Labour]?" English continued, saying "the Bill's main aim is to create, and then label, fascists as enemies of the state and the political establishment. At one point or another, each of us here in this House of Parliament have advocated for some legislative action which went against that of the Government of the day. Should we all have been put behind bars and held as political prisoners for that? Obviously not. I'm not entirely sure Labour understands what fascism is. If they're living somewhere which they genuinely believe is close to becoming a fascist dictatorship, how have they been allowed to write a law which specifically targets one of the parties in governance, and have that law openly and transparently debated in Parliament?"

Labour leader Sarah Ellice directly responded to English's hypothetical, retorting "No, Prime Minister, I've never advocated for authoritarian nationalism like you have. My colleagues on this side of the House have never advocated for the deportation of people of colour. Our party has never supported colonialism in the Pacific which impacts nations poorer than ours. Labour has never sat in parliament with an openly fascist, National Socialist party like National is doing with People's Front. It seems like we're talking across points here."

Supporters of the Libertarian Movement party, whose leader and sole member Sean Davidson voted against the Bill, attended a small protest on Parliament's grounds in opposition to the Bill, with one protester TVDG interviewed calling Labour "authoritarian scum". Labour's Justice spokesperson Maurice Williamson told protesters and reporters outside Parliament that "Labour will not stop advocating for the security of our country's most basic democratic functions. If elected in 2024, this law or something similar will come into force."

President Friece Voices Support for Rejected Drongonian Anti-Fascism Bill
-
Article By: Kristian Baffers

Recently, a new law proposed by Drongonia's Labour Party and Green Party was struck down in Drongonia's Parliament by a vote of 63-57.

The proposed law, called The Anti-Political Extremism Bill, entailed a banning of extremist parties. The law heavily resembled that of a similar law set by Germany.

The proposal comes only days after Aumbura's Parliament passed a similar law effectively banning autocratic and fascistic political parties from running in official elections, dubbed "The Anti-Electoral Extremism Bill".

In a statement, President Leland Friece, whose party proposed the law, voiced disappointment with the Drongonian Parliament's decision to strike down the proposal.

"I'm indeed disappointed," said President Friece. "I believe such a bill would have done much in the way of bolstering the security of Drongonia's democracy. I think it's a shame that it was struck down so quickly, though I commend the Labour Party and The Green Party for proposing it."

President Friece also went on to criticize Prime Minister Bill English's opposition to the law.

"I have a great deal of respect for Prime Minister English, of course," said President Friece. "However, I think his opposition to the law is misguided. His point about all politicians having at one point argued against the position of the government creates an unfair equivocation, as there is a great difference between opposing your government's stance on the education budget and advocating for the removal, and possible genocide, of racial and ethnic minorities. As for his point regarding the law possibly being used against its advocates, I say this: If a fascist party so bent on the destruction of the People's Party managed to take power, whose to say the absence of an anti-fascist law would prevent them from drawing up their own law and banning us anyway? Do you wish to know what led to the rise of Nazis in Germany? Complacency. And let me tell you, the absence of an official ban on electoral extremism didn't make them play any more nice."

Conversely, there were some Aumburan politicians who showed great support for the decision made by the Drongonian Parliament.

Rueben Elpforr, a member of The Liberty Party, praised Prime Minister English.

"While I lament that my home country has passed such a law, I can at least take comfort in the knowledge that Drongonia is taking a hard stance against government overreach," said Elpforr. "While I dislike The Homeland Party as much as anyone else, silencing them is hardly the answer. The only authoritarians The People's Party has exposed are themselves."

Dorymer Wenzag, a former member of the now defunct Homeland Party, also praised the decision.

"I've always been a fan of Prime Minister English, and his position on this matter shows that he is a far greater and more sensible leader than our own," said Wenzag.

Yes: 82% - No: 18%

Comments:

Wendel34: I miss the days when Elpforr was on the left.

LightsForStangard: The very act of legitimizing fascism via any sort of electoral recognition has only led to bad things. I have no interest in allowing history to repeat itself.

Imparius09_3: It's a relief Wenzag is locked up and off social media for the moment. Can you imagine the havoc he'd raise over this if he managed to get that much mileage over a birthday cake?

Foreign Affairs Minister Katy Pace "Not surprised" at Aumburan reaction to recent Bill's failure

In a statement released to the press earlier today, Foreign Affairs Minister Katy Pace sad she was "not surprised at the reaction from Aumbura regarding the failure of the Anti-Political Extremism Bill last week."

The statement comes after Aumbura's President, Leland Friece, voiced disappointment with the Drongonian Parliament's decision to strike down the proposed legislation. In an interview with Aumburan broadcaster FNN, Friece said that he was "...indeed disappointed" and that he "...believe[s] such a bill would have done much in the way of bolstering the security of Drongonia's democracy." He also said that "...it's a shame that it was struck down so quickly, though I commend the Labour Party and The Green Party for proposing it."

Friece continued, taking aim at Prime Minister English's vocal opposition to the Bill in Parliament, telling FNN that "I have a great deal of respect for Prime Minister English, of course. However, I think his opposition to the law is misguided. His point about all politicians having at one point argued against the position of the government creates an unfair equivocation, as there is a great difference between opposing your government's stance on the education budget and advocating for the removal, and possible genocide, of racial and ethnic minorities."

Prime Minister English weighed in on TVDG's Breakfast programme this morning, saying "I'm not offended. President Friece is free to have whatever opinions he likes. I like Friece, and Drongonia's relationship with Aumbura is one where we understand our differences, but still work together. It's the same thing on a personal level with him and I - I don't take it as a personal attack." English then went on to say "It's probably not news to Friece that both myself and National as a party align more with his opposition, just like how his viewpoints align more with Labour."

English continued "At the end of the day, I don't believe either Drongonia or Aumbura are going to fall to fascism any time soon. Us by virtue, and them by law. My biggest sticking point is that the laws, in both of our countries, are basically telling the people that the Government doesn't believe they will want to continue democracy at some point, in that they believe the people may vote for fascism - which I think is absurd."

The Anti-Political Extremism Bill was drawn from the ballot only days after Aumbura's Parliament passed a similar law effectively banning what it defines as "autocratic and fascistic political parties" from running in official elections, the almost identically named "Anti-Electoral Extremism Bill".

A poll commissioned by TVDG's polling partner Curia asked 7,146 registered voters whether or not they supported the proposed law.
Question: "Would you support an outright ban on parties determined by the current Parliament to be fascist, extreme or autocratic in nature?"
54.7% No
43.4% Yes
1.9% Unsure/Undecided
