"I swear this sacred oath that I shall render unconditional obedience to Emperor Palpatine, to exercise every power in service to the Galactic Empire, and shall, whensoever I am asked, be prepared, as a loyal servant, to surrender my life for this oath."
Five years since Yavin, the destruction of the battle station DS-1.
One year since Endor, the destruction of the second battle station, the death of the Emperor.
A week since Jakku, the signing of the Galactic Concordance, the surrender of the Empire.
Imperial remnants have formed across the galactic spiral as the Empire of ten thousand years was forced into dissolution. As a Scout Trooper of the 774th Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Company, you were stationed as a garrison to the Outer Rim world of Baridan in 3 ABY, an unimportant backwater world past Tund, on the end of the Falko Run. With the signing of the Galactic Concordance, however, you have been cut-off from the Imperial military, from supply, from support. Since then, with little hyperspace trade and few ways off world, you have continued your garrison duties, your patrols, command clinging to the hope that an Imperial remnant would exfiltrate you.
Yesterday, that changed.
The New Republic has finally given notice to Baridan and its population of two million. Your Commanding Officer has finally run out of his stash of credits to pay you with. The civilian government, what little remains, has finally begun calls for your removal, as a foreign occupier, as war criminals under the Galactic Concordance.
Captain Raleigh has ordered a muster of the Company. Today, he says, things will change.
The GameThank you for the interest! As you can guess, in this game players will take control of a trooper from Baker Company, assigned to garrison duty on Baridan, with the looming threat of New Republic intervention, civilian unrest, piracy, religious zealotry, and soon enough the need to begin finding alternate sources of income. As a trooper in Baker Company, it falls to you to attempt to maintain the peace. For those who have been in the unit for some time, it’s expected that you have been stationed on Baridan for three years, so setting roots down is likely not unheard of. For others, Baker Company is likely the only friend you really have. Above the lack of manpower, you’ll also need to overcome a lack of heavy equipment when the going gets tough. As a Scout Company, heavy assets are limited to a half dozen Lambda class shuttles and two Sentinel class assault craft. Squads do have access to speeder-portable heavy weapons, with each being assigned a specialist, and some squads do possess long-ranged sniper rifles, though it is rare for a singular squad to have both. Use what you have and use it wisely.
Rules
Good luck.
- No Godmodding.
This is a given. Control of another character is not acceptable.- No spamming in the OOC or IC.
OOC posts which address multiple individuals are acceptable. IC posts which address more than one event or character’s actions are acceptable. If you feel like a back-and-forth conversation between two player characters will not have enough content, a co-write over Google Docs or Discord is fine.- No Meta.
This extends both to player knowledge and bringing player-to-player interactions and issues into the IC. Please do not do it. Figure things out outside of the game. If player issues begin to creep into character actions, warnings and redactions will occur.- Use proper English and grammar.
I don’t ask for much, especially when spell check exists both on most writing softwares and on NationStates itself. Large and constant spelling mistakes, with no attempt to improve on the part of the player, may result in them being removed.- Maintain minimum post length.
I ask for just two paragraphs. There’s a lot you can write about in the world, from thoughts about other characters' actions, the weather, the fact that the groin plate is being uncomfortable again, and so on. If you are stuck on writing something, an easy tool is to roll through every sense your character has (sight, sound, hearing, touch, taste) and try to naturally describe them. If you need help doing that, feel free to ask first. There’s no need to rush things.- Character Limits.
No Canon Characters. One Character Limit. Scout Troopers Only.

Gender:
Age:
Rank/Billet: (See Roster for available ranks. Generally First Lieutenant and lower is acceptable, though the slot may already be taken for that rank. Billet refers to position, such as Commanding Officer/Sergeant for a unit, squad heavy weapons specialist, so on)
Homeworld: (Any human-occupied world is acceptable, though if they’re exotic I expect a great reason)
Appearance: (Minimum of one paragraph or spoilered image of less than 500px wide. Do not post an armor image, please. If you have trouble describing them, go through general build type, hair color, style, eye color, any major scars, deformities, or tattoos, and that should get you there)
Personality: (Minimum of one paragraph. If you struggle with this, try describing attitudes towards Imperial hardliners, aliens, human supremacist organizations, the Galactic Republic, officers or authority in general, or attitudes towards military doctrine and how flexible it should be or not be. You could also pick events in the galactic history’s past and try to imagine how your character would have felt about them)
Biography: (Minimum of two paragraphs. If you have issues, I suggest starting with where you want your character to end up like, then moving backwards. What events or battles have shaped your character’s life views and experiences, what was their first stationing like, what was their Basic Training experience, and what led to them overall joining the Stormtrooper Corps to begin with?)

CHARACTER APPLICATION
Name: Hampri Raleigh
Gender: Male
Age: 41
Rank/Billet: Captain / Commanding Officer, 774th Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Company
Homeworld: Eshan
Appearance:Standing at 5’6”, Hampri Raleigh continues to exhibit a strong physical fortitude despite the gaining years. With a good amount of lean musculature, he lacks the major injuries which would otherwise marr a career soldier save for extensive back problems as a result of extensive speeder piloting. His face has several prominent scars, however, as a result of vibroblade encounters throughout several ambushes in urban areas. His white hair is one of the few signs of an Echani heritage.
Personality:Strong-willed, stubborn, and fiercely dedicated to both his mission goals and the safety of his men, Captain Raleigh takes a strong, different stance on civilian treatment as a result of his oft-found situation as being vastly outnumbered or spread thin in forces. Eager to aid the civilian population of worlds he has been garrisoned on, both in more common security and in anti-piracy work, he prefers to keep relations with civil authorities high instead of having to deal with epidemic rioting or fighting. To his own men, however, Raleigh is a demanding commanding officer who expects nothing less than absolute obedience to his orders, though he attempts to be reasonable in the expectations and in his choice of orders.
Biography:Born in 36 BBY to a pair of Echani firedancers, Hampri was the fourth of seven children. Like many Echani, he was molded into the warrior culture which permeated most of the society among the Six Sisters. In his earliest youth, at age four, came the Naboo Incident and the signs of war on the horizon, leading to the Six Sisters rapidly escalating training. Sparring with his brothers and sisters became more natural to the young boy than talking and in this way Hampri slowly became far more inwardly inclined than most others in his speech.
RP Sample: Yes
At fourteen years of age, the Clone Wars began and while the Six Sisters never saw the sights of warships in combat, they would host a political back-and-forth between the Republic and Confederacy which included several bombings, assassinations, and other subversive actions by both parties. The Six Sisters, in response, largely threw their support behind the Republic due to material reasons, supplying large tracts of Echani troops and officers to the rapidly expanding GAR. Hampri knew many of those who left and many who would not return, including his mother. When the war ended and the Empire was declared, he saw it as a shining beacon to the galaxy, a testament to their sacrifices, and a year after that declaration, volunteered for service in the Stormtrooper Corps.
He would experience a good amount of success during training, as successful as anyone can claim at basic, though Hampri’s fighting skills would never be exceptional enough to be considered for the Imperial Royal Guard. Instead his reflexes would be put to work as a Scout Trooper. After two years of capable operations against insurgents on Umbara, his commanding officer would recommend Hampri be sent to the Imperial Academy and be commissioned as an officer. This would be accelerated after the young trooper aided Inquisitorial forces in the arrest of five Padawans in hiding on the world, and as such he would be detached from the unit and sent to the Imperial Academy of Uyter. At the Academy, Hampri experienced some difficulty in conforming to the traditional mindsets of officers in the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps which placed him under far more scrutiny than otherwise preferred. Nevertheless, as a capable leader with good initiative and on-the-fly skills, Hampri commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Stormtrooper Corps after two years, a result of accelerated training due to his already graduating from another Academy as enlisted.
Hampri Raleigh’s career since then has largely consisted of anti-insurgent and anti-piracy work on sparsely populated worlds, mainly agri-worlds, which has left him far away from the majority of major action.

World Map
Baridan is a small continental world in the Baridan System. It is located near Tund, in the eastern Galactic region, and does have a singular moon, Olad, with an extreme ellipsoid orbit. While it lacks any indiginous sentient life, the world has been colonized since the High Republic Era by an initially human population, holdovers from the Pius Dea Era. Two continents, Urn and Caba from west to east, compose the majority of the planetary landmass, though two large polar ice caps are present. Both of these have generally continental climates with tundra in the polar north and south portions, and gradually become highly mountainous as one moves closer to the interior of the landmasses.
The vast majority of settlements are located on the “interior” coastlines of the continents in order to minimize the effects of tidal disruption caused by the irregular motion of the orbiting Olad. These settlements are generally small, their populations not exceeding five thousand, with the majority of the population living in Isaama on Caba. The sole spaceport, the Imperial headquarters, and a sensor array are all located at Isaama as well.
The planet produces some amount of foodstuffs, with grain and fishery being the primary contributions, though local industry is highly decentralized and undeveloped. Wheeled vehicles and ferry vessels are the primary choices for transport to most locals, the majority being fitted with crude electric generators or imported models. Limited mining does occur in the mountains at three large scale mining areas, primarily blasting for common ores.Baridan Civilian Authority
The duly elected civil government of Baridan, the BCA primarily operates as an executive authority, appointing police and exercising limited power over the various settlements on the planet in terms of their development and organization. While generally impotent in providing economic authority, military aid, or change to the short list of Baridan’s laws, the BCA does provide for a surprisingly rapid response to crimes. The authority is headed by a Planetary Governor, formerly appointed by the Galactic Empire, who then oversees a cabinet of locally elected officials and dignitaries.
ResurrectionistsA discrete organization, the Resurrectionists advertise themselves to be advocates for the New Republic insofar as how it once operated as the Old Republic; mainly as a provider of goods to Baridan in supplementing the many industries that the planet does not have. As such, the Resurrectionists have strong ties to New Republic Intelligence and are linked to sabotage against Imperial assets and equipment. Likelihood of Resurrectionist actions to kill Imperial agents is considered low.
Weavers
Standing orders for those suspected to be members are to arrest on sight.Offshoots of the Dagoyan Order, the Weavers primarily act as a Force Cult with the underlying belief that, though the deaths of others, one may elevate their own awareness of the Force and thereby become stronger, more powerful, and more enlightened. As such, Weavers have been linked to numerous local serial killings and assassinations of Imperial agents. Evidence that any members of the Weavers is actually Force Sensitive is extremely sparse, however, suggesting that they are merely deluded and are not actually under the control of a Force-User.
Laryn Ops'nyzh
Standing orders for those suspected to be members are to attempt arrest. Lethal force is authorized in the apprehension of a suspected member.Literally meaning “Cold Euphoria”, the Laryn is a Bothese pirate organization operating clandestine bases on Baridan, primarily in the mountainous interior of Urn, as a safe haven from which to strike out onto the Falko Run. While violent interactions with locals and Imperial forces have been low, drug imports have begun to occur in major settlements on the continent. The group is not especially large, with at most a hundred members, and operates primarily smaller hyperdrive-capable fighters.
Standing orders for those suspected to be members are to attempt arrest. Lethal force is authorized in the apprehension of a confirmed member.
