Welcome to the Wonderful World of Pokemon!

This is an RP inspired by the adventures people have experienced or are experiencing with Pokemon!

This is the Region of Olympos, inspired by the nation of Greece. You will begin your journey, assemble a team, make friends and uncover the plot of Team Titan. As you can likely tell this OP is a WIP as is the entire RP. I’d love help, suggestions, questions, comments etc. Just be respectful.

Note: The gyms can be challenged in any order, Gym Leaders all have a full high level PKMN team but they scale the difficulty based on the number of badges the challenger has

RULES

1. Op and Co-Ops have right of way with moderation, we are not infallible just don’t be an ass to us or your fellow players.

2. Your PKMN can learn any move it has on its official move list at the appropriate level. Each PKMN can learn 6 moves. Check This Site to make sure your pokemon movesets are legal

3. You pick 1 PKMN with a three stage evolution as a starter. Any non-legendary or non-mythic is allowed, assume they are beginning at level 5. Any moves learned AFTER level 5 are not available.

4. You may have 1 mega evolution PKMN on your team. You can catch other PKMN capable of Mega Evolution you just can’t trigger it.

5. Winners of PVP battles are determined either through polite discussion between players, or by the OP based on the strategies presented and PKMN available. Same things with battles regarding NPCs. You challenge an NPC, you tell me what your strat is and I will say something like “You win, two of your PKMN faint in the process they have these 3 PKMN on their team.” and then you may write a post detailing the victory. I have no intention of micro-managing.

6. Don’t kill people or do something to another PC that would drastically damage their character without approval from the Player.

7. Want to catch a PKMN? You have a chance to catch 1 per irl day. TG me, say “i’m in this area, can i have a wild PKMN encounter?” I roll, see WHAT you encounter based on whats in the region and then tell you if you have the opportunity to catch it. I will give you the results, you write the post.

8. You can have more than one character and you can ‘retire’ your character if they get boring to you.

Standing at 4’7”, below average for most her age, Autumn’s black hair is kept loose at longer-than-shoulder length, often wild from the wind. With a generally round face and blue eyes, she tries to keep calm under most if not all circumstances, seldom smiling. While she is thin for her age, Autumn prefers to wear multiple layers with a blue dress, forest green shirt, and red vest. Combined with this are several necklaces, most being homemade from various stones found near Freezington and the dig sites, as well as a pair of metal bangles with intertwining designs.

Biography:

Born in the Galar Region, Autumn’s early life would be spent in Freezington as her parents were researchers investigating several nearby archaeological sites for fossils. While she would accompany them on several of these expeditions, childlike fascination fueling a joy of such wonders as the caves which were found, Autumn would also pick up an interest in Pokemon themselves. Between the mosaics and carvings found concerning Pokemon and their early uses in the region and the core samples from the ice which at times contained fossilized Pokemon, they seemed to be a portal into a time long gone, a time far more interesting than any she felt she lived in. She would spend hours in the Frostpoint Fields, in part to get away from her own parents who would often seem to become bothersome, in part because the quiet of the fields simply resonated with her. It would be during one of these trips that Autumn, swaddled in coats and drawing in a journal, that she would find an injured, unconscious Pokemon. Not knowing what to do, she picked it up, running back home where her mother began to apply a number of medicines. Autumn would be scolded for being out alone, a common experience, before being swaddled in blankets for the cold.

When the Pokemon awoke, a little Hatenna which had been set upon by a group of Mimikyu, she began to immediately panic with the fact of unexpected people, crying, sprinting about the room, and generally causing havoc before Autumn caught the Pokemon. She slowly calmed down, mildly electrocuting Autumn in the process, and after she, the little Hatenna, and the room had recovered with the aid of her parents there was little question that the Pokemon would be staying with them. After it refused to leave the house on several attempts, nor really leave Autumn’s lap, that fact had been cemented.

Autumn would soon be found out in the Frostpoint Fields with her new friend, named Dancing for first impressions sake, doing really much the same as she had before, at times taking her to the archaeological sites around Freezington. As time passed, she would slowly develop a connection with Dancing going above what might otherwise normally be seen, able to sense her emotions and, after a few years, sense the emotions of others even when they were otherwise hiding them. Such developments would go unmentioned by Autumn, of course, who felt both a minor thrill at having such a secret and harbored reservations at being seen as more different than she already was. Freezington, after all, was quite a small place.

The secret would emerge when her family moved to Olympos, ostensibly to conduct research in the undersea excavation which had begun after a number of Pokemon fossils were found by a fisherman. Both the airport and the airline over, packed as it was, would prove an easy sensory overload for both Autumn and Dancing, who had never encountered so many people who were so frustrated, and so they had panic attacks for the entirety of the ordeal, eventually calming down once the plane had landed five hours later. The result of the event would be a therapist for a month, two prescription medicines which Autumn never actually took in the two months she was supposed to, and the family canceling plans to move to the region’s larger city for fear that it might cause further anxiety. While her mother was all for the idea, her father was not on the basis that she “would have to face that fear eventually”. He would push for gradually exposing Autumn to more and more people, getting her used to them, something which worked in some ways. As it stands, she’s now able to enter into a shop and purchase items, a great stride compared to before.

Born on the edges of Nacrene City with five siblings, Luke always loved sneaking into the lush, peaceful woods of Pinwheel Forest to escape his crowded house, and he often was not missed due to the chaos of five children living in a small home. However, tragedy struck when one of his young sisters, Amanda (five), whilst on her own adventure in the woods, accidentally interrupted a Sawk’s training and was knocked unconscious by the furious Pokemon. She was found after a couple of days, and she only had enough time to tell her take before she died.

From that day on, Luke detested Pokemon, venturing deeper and deeper into the forest to vent his grief. Three weeks after the death of Amanda, Luke kicked a Venipede out of his way. The Venipede did not take this kindly and tried to bite him to inject him with poison. He only just managed to dodge out of the Pokemon’s way.

From then on, the Venipede became a nuisance whenever he tried to enjoy the woods, chasing him and nearly biting him on several occasions. They were bitter enemies until, one day, a Pidgeot attempted to eat the Venipede. The Venipede, obsessed with trying to bite Luke, which it had apparently found an entertaining game, had not seen the bird Pokemon until it was too late. The Pidgeot had pinned the bug Pokemon down and was about to deliver the final blow when Luke, feeling pity, distracted the Pidgeot by throwing rocks, and the Pidgeot, feeling that it was not worth the effort, flew off.

From then on, the Venipede (now named Toxic) and Luke were inseparable, and Toxic became Luke’s first Pokemon.

Born in Lumiose City of the Kalos region, Bernard grew up in one of the most popular cafes in Lumiose City. Bernard grew up in a loving environment, with two Meowstic, a Delphox, and a Gengar who helped his parents operate the cafe. Bernard's passion for Pokemon officially bloomed at 9, when his older sister became one of the most powerful trainers in the Kalos region. When Bernard finally reached 10, he went to his parents and asked if he could go on a journey during summer break. His parents, however, were against the idea. With his sister, Claudette on the top of the Kalos league ladder, Bernard's parents wanted him to stay in Lumiose city, study, and eventually take over the family cafe.

Bernard accepted his parents' decision and studied at a local school in Lumiose city. At the age of 14, Bernard's life was changed forever with the passing of his grandmother. When the funeral was over, Bernard's uncle gave him a box, that was left to him by his grandmother. After negotiation with his parents, Bernard was allowed to go on a small journey during his summer break, and travel to the distant Olympos Region.

I sure hope so otherwise my character concept is sorta screwed from the start.

Also a good number of Pokemon games start with the protagonist being the "new kid" from elsewhere, so there is that.

I was thinking of being a kid from Johto region who has already been traveling region to region catching and training her Pokémon.

Considering that we're limited to one starter Pokemon, somehow I feel like that concept will have difficulties.
