"I swear this sacred oath that I shall render unconditional obedience to Emperor Palpatine, to exercise every power in service to the Galactic Empire, and shall, whensoever I am asked, be prepared, as a loyal servant, to surrender my life for this oath."

Five years since Yavin, the destruction of the battle station DS-1.
One year since Endor, the destruction of the second battle station, the death of the Emperor.
A week since Jakku, the signing of the Galactic Concordance, the surrender of the Empire.

Imperial remnants have formed across the galactic spiral as the Empire of ten thousand years was forced into dissolution. As a Scout Trooper of the 774th Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Company, you were stationed as a garrison to the Outer Rim world of Baridan in 3 ABY, an unimportant backwater world past Tund, on the end of the Falko Run. With the signing of the Galactic Concordance, however, you have been cut-off from the Imperial military, from supply, from support. Since then, with little hyperspace trade and few ways off world, you have continued your garrison duties, your patrols, command clinging to the hope that an Imperial remnant would exfiltrate you.

Yesterday, that changed.

The New Republic has finally given notice to Baridan and its population of two million. Your Commanding Officer has finally run out of his stash of credits to pay you with. The civilian government, what little remains, has finally begun calls for your removal, as a foreign occupier, as war criminals under the Galactic Concordance.

Captain Raleigh has ordered a muster of the Company. Today, he says, things will change.

The Game
Thank you for the interest! As you can guess, in this game players will take control of a trooper from Baker Company, assigned to garrison duty on Baridan, with the looming threat of New Republic intervention, civilian unrest, piracy, religious zealotry, and soon enough the need to begin finding alternate sources of income. As a trooper in Baker Company, it falls to you to attempt to maintain the peace. For those who have been in the unit for some time, it’s expected that you have been stationed on Baridan for three years, so setting roots down is likely not unheard of. For others, Baker Company is likely the only friend you really have. Above the lack of manpower, you’ll also need to overcome a lack of heavy equipment when the going gets tough. As a Scout Company, heavy assets are limited to a half dozen Lambda class shuttles and two Sentinel class assault craft. Squads do have access to speeder-portable heavy weapons, with each being assigned a specialist, and some squads do possess long-ranged sniper rifles, though it is rare for a singular squad to have both. Use what you have and use it wisely.

    Good luck.
Rules
  1. No Godmodding.
This is a given. Control of another character is not acceptable.
  2. No spamming in the OOC or IC.
OOC posts which address multiple individuals are acceptable. IC posts which address more than one event or character’s actions are acceptable. If you feel like a back-and-forth conversation between two player characters will not have enough content, a co-write over Google Docs or Discord is fine.
  3. No Meta.
This extends both to player knowledge and bringing player-to-player interactions and issues into the IC. Please do not do it. Figure things out outside of the game. If player issues begin to creep into character actions, warnings and redactions will occur.
  4. Use proper English and grammar.
I don’t ask for much, especially when spell check exists both on most writing softwares and on NationStates itself. Large and constant spelling mistakes, with no attempt to improve on the part of the player, may result in them being removed.
  5. Maintain minimum post length.
I ask for just two paragraphs. There’s a lot you can write about in the world, from thoughts about other characters' actions, the weather, the fact that the groin plate is being uncomfortable again, and so on. If you are stuck on writing something, an easy tool is to roll through every sense your character has (sight, sound, hearing, touch, taste) and try to naturally describe them. If you need help doing that, feel free to ask first. There’s no need to rush things.
  6. Character Limits.
No Canon Characters. One Character Limit. Scout Troopers Only.

Name:
Gender:
Age:
Rank/Billet: (See Roster for available ranks. Generally First Lieutenant and lower is acceptable, though the slot may already be taken for that rank. Billet refers to position, such as Commanding Officer/Sergeant for a unit, squad heavy weapons specialist, so on)
Homeworld: (Any human-occupied world is acceptable, though if they’re exotic I expect a great reason)
Appearance: (Minimum of one paragraph or spoilered image of less than 500px wide. Do not post an armor image, please. If you have trouble describing them, go through general build type, hair color, style, eye color, any major scars, deformities, or tattoos, and that should get you there)
Personality: (Minimum of one paragraph. If you struggle with this, try describing attitudes towards Imperial hardliners, aliens, human supremacist organizations, the Galactic Republic, officers or authority in general, or attitudes towards military doctrine and how flexible it should be or not be. You could also pick events in the galactic history’s past and try to imagine how your character would have felt about them)
Biography: (Minimum of two paragraphs. If you have issues, I suggest starting with where you want your character to end up like, then moving backwards. What events or battles have shaped your character’s life views and experiences, what was their first stationing like, what was their Basic Training experience, and what led to them overall joining the Stormtrooper Corps to begin with?)

CHARACTER APPLICATION

Name: Hampri Raleigh
Gender: Male
Age: 41
Rank/Billet: Captain / Commanding Officer, 774th Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Company
Homeworld: Eshan
Appearance:
Standing at 5’6”, Hampri Raleigh continues to exhibit a strong physical fortitude despite the gaining years. With a good amount of lean musculature, he lacks the major injuries which would otherwise marr a career soldier save for extensive back problems as a result of extensive speeder piloting. His face has several prominent scars, however, as a result of vibroblade encounters throughout several ambushes in urban areas. His white hair is one of the few signs of an Echani heritage.
Personality:
Strong-willed, stubborn, and fiercely dedicated to both his mission goals and the safety of his men, Captain Raleigh takes a strong, different stance on civilian treatment as a result of his oft-found situation as being vastly outnumbered or spread thin in forces. Eager to aid the civilian population of worlds he has been garrisoned on, both in more common security and in anti-piracy work, he prefers to keep relations with civil authorities high instead of having to deal with epidemic rioting or fighting. To his own men, however, Raleigh is a demanding commanding officer who expects nothing less than absolute obedience to his orders, though he attempts to be reasonable in the expectations and in his choice of orders.
Biography:
Born in 36 BBY to a pair of Echani firedancers, Hampri was the fourth of seven children. Like many Echani, he was molded into the warrior culture which permeated most of the society among the Six Sisters. In his earliest youth, at age four, came the Naboo Incident and the signs of war on the horizon, leading to the Six Sisters rapidly escalating training. Sparring with his brothers and sisters became more natural to the young boy than talking and in this way Hampri slowly became far more inwardly inclined than most others in his speech.

At fourteen years of age, the Clone Wars began and while the Six Sisters never saw the sights of warships in combat, they would host a political back-and-forth between the Republic and Confederacy which included several bombings, assassinations, and other subversive actions by both parties. The Six Sisters, in response, largely threw their support behind the Republic due to material reasons, supplying large tracts of Echani troops and officers to the rapidly expanding GAR. Hampri knew many of those who left and many who would not return, including his mother. When the war ended and the Empire was declared, he saw it as a shining beacon to the galaxy, a testament to their sacrifices, and a year after that declaration, volunteered for service in the Stormtrooper Corps.

He would experience a good amount of success during training, as successful as anyone can claim at basic, though Hampri’s fighting skills would never be exceptional enough to be considered for the Imperial Royal Guard. Instead his reflexes would be put to work as a Scout Trooper. After two years of capable operations against insurgents on Umbara, his commanding officer would recommend Hampri be sent to the Imperial Academy and be commissioned as an officer. This would be accelerated after the young trooper aided Inquisitorial forces in the arrest of five Padawans in hiding on the world, and as such he would be detached from the unit and sent to the Imperial Academy of Uyter. At the Academy, Hampri experienced some difficulty in conforming to the traditional mindsets of officers in the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps which placed him under far more scrutiny than otherwise preferred. Nevertheless, as a capable leader with good initiative and on-the-fly skills, Hampri commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Stormtrooper Corps after two years, a result of accelerated training due to his already graduating from another Academy as enlisted.

Hampri Raleigh’s career since then has largely consisted of anti-insurgent and anti-piracy work on sparsely populated worlds, mainly agri-worlds, which has left him far away from the majority of major action.

Geographics and Population
    Galactic Position
    World Map

Baridan is a small continental world in the Baridan System. It is located near Tund, in the eastern Galactic region, and does have a singular moon, Olad, with an extreme ellipsoid orbit. While it lacks any indiginous sentient life, the world has been colonized since the High Republic Era by an initially human population, holdovers from the Pius Dea Era. Two continents, Urn and Caba from west to east, compose the majority of the planetary landmass, though two large polar ice caps are present. Both of these have generally continental climates with tundra in the polar north and south portions, and gradually become highly mountainous as one moves closer to the interior of the landmasses.

The vast majority of settlements are located on the “interior” coastlines of the continents in order to minimize the effects of tidal disruption caused by the irregular motion of the orbiting Olad. These settlements are generally small, their populations not exceeding five thousand, with the majority of the population living in Isaama on Caba. The sole spaceport, the Imperial headquarters, and a sensor array are all located at Isaama as well.

The planet produces some amount of foodstuffs, with grain and fishery being the primary contributions, though local industry is highly decentralized and undeveloped. Wheeled vehicles and ferry vessels are the primary choices for transport to most locals, the majority being fitted with crude electric generators or imported models. Limited mining does occur in the mountains at three large scale mining areas, primarily blasting for common ores.
Local Organizations
    Baridan Civilian Authority
The duly elected civil government of Baridan, the BCA primarily operates as an executive authority, appointing police and exercising limited power over the various settlements on the planet in terms of their development and organization. While generally impotent in providing economic authority, military aid, or change to the short list of Baridan’s laws, the BCA does provide for a surprisingly rapid response to crimes. The authority is headed by a Planetary Governor, formerly appointed by the Galactic Empire, who then oversees a cabinet of locally elected officials and dignitaries.
    Resurrectionists
A discrete organization, the Resurrectionists advertise themselves to be advocates for the New Republic insofar as how it once operated as the Old Republic; mainly as a provider of goods to Baridan in supplementing the many industries that the planet does not have. As such, the Resurrectionists have strong ties to New Republic Intelligence and are linked to sabotage against Imperial assets and equipment. Likelihood of Resurrectionist actions to kill Imperial agents is considered low.

Standing orders for those suspected to be members are to arrest on sight.
    Weavers
Offshoots of the Dagoyan Order, the Weavers primarily act as a Force Cult with the underlying belief that, though the deaths of others, one may elevate their own awareness of the Force and thereby become stronger, more powerful, and more enlightened. As such, Weavers have been linked to numerous local serial killings and assassinations of Imperial agents. Evidence that any members of the Weavers is actually Force Sensitive is extremely sparse, however, suggesting that they are merely deluded and are not actually under the control of a Force-User.

Standing orders for those suspected to be members are to attempt arrest. Lethal force is authorized in the apprehension of a suspected member.
    Laryn Ops'nyzh
Literally meaning “Cold Euphoria”, the Laryn is a Bothese pirate organization operating clandestine bases on Baridan, primarily in the mountainous interior of Urn, as a safe haven from which to strike out onto the Falko Run. While violent interactions with locals and Imperial forces have been low, drug imports have begun to occur in major settlements on the continent. The group is not especially large, with at most a hundred members, and operates primarily smaller hyperdrive-capable fighters.

Standing orders for those suspected to be members are to attempt arrest. Lethal force is authorized in the apprehension of a confirmed member.

Is 'platoon guide' an actual role or does it refer to the squad guide below?

Platoon Guide refers to a Sergeant who acts as an Assistant Platoon Sergeant. Duties may include supplying the platoon with ammunition and rations and, if directed specifically, taking charge of casualties or enemy prisoners until they are evacuated (that last one may be a tad difficult).

Platoon Sergeant should be fine, I'm not tracking anyone trying to run that so far.

CHARACTER APPLICATION
Name: Brazec Talsto

Gender: M

Age: 47

Rank/Billet: Platoon Sergeant

Homeworld: Eriadu

Appearance: Brazec stands at 1.9 meters and is often described as stepping out of a recruiting poster. Brazec's face is harsh and worn after years of fighting and his face bears the mark of one too many helmet failures; with fading scars and burns still present despite numerous bacta treatments. His graying hair is kept in a perpetual buzzcut; which stands out against the pale skin he has gained from too much time in armor. Brazec's eye's are a dull green with a tiny hint of intelligence in them that look out of place on a seemingly career trooper.

Personality: A cynical man by necessity; Brazec assumes the worst in people and plans for it too. Such paranoia has allowed him to survive several of the games played by members of the Empire's officers and bureaucrats. That being said, he is loyal to the Empire nonetheless as it gave him a life and a purpose. So flaws and all, he feels indebted to the system and remained a stalwart supporter (even through questionable campaigns and actions). With the First Death Star and the destruction of Alderaan; Brazec doubled down. Talking himself into the need for such drastic measures; he has become more zealous in the final years of the Galactic Civil War. If only to justify to himself that his years of service were not wasted or abused. All of this being a cover to hide his own indecision and the nightmares that plague him.

Biography: Born on Eriadu in 42 BBY; Brazec spent the early parts of his life working in a droid factory along side his parents. A slave in all but name. His home was a small hovel situated in a slum next to a run-off pit; one he shared with his parents and two older siblings. By 33 BBY, Brazec was the last surviving member of his family. His father having died of radiation exposure, his mother from a local spike of disease and his two sisters from a speeder crash that claimed the lives of fourteen others. Now alone, Brazec was taken in by the factory and housed, fed and educated within the company's corporate orphanage. In actuality, it was a debt trap that Brazec had been sentenced to for the rest of his foreseeable future. For years it seemed like Brazec would be sentenced to toil away within the factory.

However, in 23 BBY, Brazec and several other teens managed to escape from the factory's perimeter and escape into the surrounding sprawl. While most were caught in the following days; Brazec managed to slip the search and melt into the undercity. Alone and inexperienced in the world; Brazec fell in with a local gang. For a while Brazec was content with his newfound life; brawling for scraps and credits with other gangs while ducking the occasional patrol. His meals were meager but free and his life was his own; the political arguments of the Senate that trickled down to the undercity were the problem of people who could afford to care. The eruption of the Clone Wars initially had no effect on Brazec's life. Security patrols started to increase slightly and Pro-Republic propagandas began to appear on every street corner; but life continued on for the gang's of the undercity. Business as usual.

Until 21 BBY, when the Senate created the Republican Militia and Brazec was arrested along with hundreds of young adult gangmembers in a sudden crackdown. The newly created Eriadu Territorial Regiment was in desperate need of fresh manpower and the powers that be saw a way to rid themselves of several problems at once. Soon, Brazec along with other minor felons, security forces and very few volunteers were swept up and molded into a fighting force in three month's of clone trooper supervised training.

Brazec's service during the Clone Wars consisted mostly of one long campaign. The first being a series of skirmishes with Separatists mercenaries on a swampy unanmed moon that lasted a whole year. Both sides wanted the mining sites on the moon but saw no need for deploying their top frontline units. The Eriaduan Militia won by sheer attrition in the end; having lost almost half of their number to the enemy and a quarter to the effect's of the moon's swamps. After that came a series of garrison jobs on his home world until the eve of Order 66.

With the rise of the Empire came the dissolution of the Republic Militia; and Brazec quickly transferred his skillset into a mind-numbing custom agent job on an orbiting station. Boredom and nightmares caused tensions to flare with his co-workers until Brazec was contacted by his old platoon leader. Captain Isa Keenes of the Stormtrooper Corps, previously Lieutenant of the Eriaduan Guard, had signed up with the Empire immediately; only now having been given a position of meaning. Keenes had recently been given charge of creating a company of swamptroopers. So she had sought out former members of her unit to help fill out slots; with Brazec being one of the handful of survivors that accepted her offer. Brazec went through the newly created Stormtrooper Academy and passed in the middle of his class. From there he was transferred into Keenes company; the 3rd Company of the 46th Stormtrooper Regiment.

Brazec distinguished himself among the swamptroopers during counterinsurgency operations on Naboo and Kashyyyk; in particular for his blunt nature and extreme ruthlessness and attacking rebel (and suspected rebel) encampments. Combined with the leadership's of Keenes; the 3rd company gained a reputation for quickly clearing conflict areas. Such a reputation allowed the members's of the company, Brazec included, to receive ample amounts of commendations and promotions. From there the company was typically on the forefront of several campaigns; most were minor skirmishes or scuffles. Small no name moons or swamps of planets that were too thick for the local garrisons to venture in willingly. A brief stint on Mimban however saw a break in the routine. A run of bad luck saw the veteran company overextended, cut off and decimated before it was relieved.

Brazec was wounded in the action and had to be shifted off-world for care. With his company decimated and Keenes missing; the 3rd Company was broken up and its members shifted around the Empire. The veteran troopers of the company were in high demand and Brazec found himself going through a dizzying amount of postings and assignments. Garrison duties on core planets, boarding parties on piracy suppression missions, a brief stint as a snowtrooper and a cold two months on Rhen Var prying rebels off a listening post and out of the planet's cave. However, when Brazec's unit returned from Rhen Var the galaxy had changed . The First Death Star had come and gone; and the fence-sitters of the galaxy were emboldened. More campaigns, more casualties and more sleepless nights followed in the years that followed.

Near the end of 4ABY; Brazec participated in an attempt to subdue an up-start Mandalore and made landfall with the first wave. The first landing was a disaster and Brazec survived by the skin of his teeth and the virtue of having commandeered an E-Web from a dead gun crew. Shaken and seen as a liability; Brazec was spared from punishment due to his long service record and shipped off to Baridan to recover on a do nothing garrison on a backwater planet. Replacing their old platoon sergeant; Brazec made little friends with his zealous drive covering for the nightmares that were plaguing him. Still he held out hope that he would be transferred off to a more serious unit and too a more mind-occupying posting. Then the Second Death Star went up and the Emperor went with it.

It was the first time Brazec pondered the state of the Empire. Then Jakku happened, and Brazec began to worry......

I am definitely interested in this, I have to finish a different app first and am getting my laptop recovered, hopefully by next week I can be more consistently active, but I'll try and get an app out over the next several days whilst this gathers interest. The concept appears brilliant, and is completely up my street.

Some worldbuilding questions, please answer according to what data we would have IC?:
What other Imperial forces/garrisons/assets are on the planet?
How strong is the police and what is their alignment (total number, rough armament):
Are there rough intelligence estimates on the numbers of our potential adversaries already on planet?

Glad to see you and thank you for the interest! As for the questions...
  • There are no other imperial forces on the planet save for Baker Company as the associated transports and transport crews (That being 6 Lambda class and 2 Sentinel class)
  • Police worldwide number approximately 3,100, with an average of less than 10 in most settlements, the excess being at the capital city of Isaama. Armaments consist of blaster pistols, shock batons, and the rare blaster rifle, these all being primarily of Republic era vintage. Body armor is not issued in any form. Transportation is likewise rough, with most settlements not operating more than one speeder of poor quality due to maintenance.
  • Rough intelligence estimates indicate a completely unknown number of Resurrectionists, less than 200 Weavers, and somewhere between 100 and 500 for the Laryn Ops'nyzh, though the last group experiences a fluctuation of planet side numbers due to their pirate activities.

If you're able to, I encourage you to join the Discord by the way so we can better have a back and forth. One again, thank you for the interest. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thank you very much for your answers, I shall look to join the discord once I have retrieved my laptop (it is being repaired). It should make for a very interesting RP!

Erinea Carscov
Name: Erinea Carscov
Gender: Female
Age: 21 (Imperial Records suggest her to be 23)
Rank/Billet: Lance-Corporal, First Squad
Homeworld: Taris
Appearance: Standing at 1.61m and weighing 61kg, Erinea is slightly taller than many women, but is shorter than the majority of stormtroopers, and has a strong but feminine build. She has bright green eyes, white skin, and auburn hair, which when she is not required to have it up, she likes to wear wavy and down as far as she can. She is of good health, with particularly good cardio. She has no major scars or deformities, other than minor scars on her arms and sides from her time growing up- whether from injury or illness. She has a small tattoo dating when she left her homeworld, as well as her bloodtype, her initials, and her military number on her left shoulder.
Personality: Erinea is a smilingly confident young woman who greatly enjoys military humour and comradeship, though she has a quick temper when she believes that someone is being genuinely insulting, as she has not had many strong personal bonds before joining the military. Overall, she is sympathetic to the Galactic Empire, but more so to the Stormtrooper Corps itself, as it has given her a sense of identity, belonging, and security she did not have before. Despite this, she has a streak of non-conformity in her, and struggles when she finds regulations or requirements to be non-pragmatic. She is not wasteful, and is always grateful when given personal gifts or affection.

She is quite flirtatious, but is fearful of forming romantic attachments, out of both personal distrust and the potential for military unprofessionalism, in addition to her first ever relationship having a horrible end. She is not particularly bothered by Imperial hardliners or human supremacists, but is slightly derisory, in her own mind, of people who believe that the Empire is perfect. If officers are competent, she has no problem with them, though tends to find NCOs more relatable. That said, other than in training, she didn't have too much interaction with officers so does not have strong opinions towards them. Where she sees authority as being based on competence, experience, and pragmatics, rather than purely through rank or without apparent merit, she is compliant. Regarding military doctrine, she believes that the Imperial military is well trained, but that there should be more encouragement of junior rank initiative.

She found the destruction of the Death Star shocking, but was also particularly frustrated as she didn't understand the reasoning when the Death Star could only be in one place at one time, and the budget could have significantly been used throughout the military in many other ways.
Biography:
Erinea was born on the gloomy, ugly, and messy urban world of Taris. She was born to an unremarkable family, with her mother a nurse in a neglected hospital, and her father working at a recycling yard. She had two older brothers, and later in life, two younger ones, but no sisters. Over the course of her time in Taris, her family often had little to live off of, and her father became indebted. Her brothers all ended up involved in odd-jobs and potentially minor crime, whilst Erinea entered into a life of peddling, petty theft, and running miscellaneous errands and hireling jobs. She worked from being around eight, and received almost no formal education.

At nine, her mother died of a disease which also made a younger brother infirm. Her father became more indebted trying to look after a now effectively useless child, with one less income, whilst one of her brothers went off-world on a merchant ship. he sent payments for two years before they stopped. The other brother became more involved in crime, until he was killed in a firefight with another gang when Erinea was 12. With her father becoming an increasingly feeble and depressed man, he began to drink more, and grew worse into debt, whilst Erinea's two younger brothers looked increasingly worse for wear.

With her father rarely capable of looking after himself, Erinea took over looking after her two brothers. One day, when she was out running errands, she returned home to find her brothers comforting her crying father. Their small home and been repossessed, and he had been badly beaten for failing to keep up with his payments. They were forced to live in the slums, and within two months one brother would go missing. Her father was devastated, and pleaded with Erinea to go off-world and find a better life for herself. Her younger brother would end up being adopted by a sympathetic well-to-do family, whilst her father continued to drink himself into debt. At 16, she had a massive argument, and left home, living by her own means for five weeks, to return to see that another family inhabited their slum. Her father had been taken away by those he was indebted to, presumably to work for them in their criminal world. Erinea lived homeless for some time, living on the streets and scooting from one place to another, before one day, utterly depressed and caught in a dirty rain of pollution, she took shelter in a seedy bar.

Attracting unwelcome attention from a group of layabouts, she soon found herself having to escape a barfight as a couple of unknown men attempted to intervene. She fled, and took shelter in an Imperial Recruitment Centre. Looking around, and reflecting on her miserable life, she had enlisted within a few hours, but would lie about her age. Due to being from such a dismal background, there was no official record of her, and she claimed to be 18, despite being 16 and a half. She would complete her aptitude tests and be sent to join the Imperial Army, and was off-world within a month after completing some various induction and assessment tests.

During her training, she had to work extremely hard to improve on her general education, but proved to be an intelligent and diligent learner, though often got into trouble for failing to meet the right uniform standards, though her fitness, social intelligence, and aggressive attitude was well-regarded. She would be selected, alongside the top 10% of recruits, to go to the Imperial Academy on Carida.

Training was harsh, aggressive, and in some ways shocking. There were far fewer females being trained to be Stormtroopers, and they were predominantly placed into all-female units. Erinea found this aspect more challenging than the nature of the training itself. It was also psychologically strange to find herself being trained alongside children, Imperial Cadets. After proving herself one of the finest women in training, and after several troublesome requests to be transferred to another training unit, Erinea was granted permission. Of particular note in this successful transfer was her change in requesting the change from reasons about her own psychological comfort, and what she wanted for her own familiarity compared to Imperial Army training, was her speaking of her increased potential for combat effectiveness by being stretched to her potential in competition with her new training companions, as well as pointing out that she would be deployed in non-gender segregated units.

Though Stormtrooper training requires a lot of mental reconditioning, Erinea was very open to this as she had not been particularly conditioned to believe in anything other than the difficulty of life and facing the reality of her position as it was. She befriended a particularly intelligent Stormtrooper recruit, by the name of Fon Raymo, who had volunteered to learn about life and the galaxy at the sharp edge of it all. He took great joy in teaching her in an extra-curricular activity, teaching her about the basics of galactic history, organisation, politics, and about mathematics. He helped her with her lessons, which she had been given more of due to her lack of an education. Whilst she was fascinated by his knowledge, and his selflessness, he was impressed by her confidence, and her ability to compete with his training cohort. This growing relationship was noted by the training instructors, who began to take bets on when they would form a relationship. When an officer discovered this, he attempted to transfer them to separate training units, but they continued to meet up, and Fon's aptitude for training decreased, whilst Erinea's educational growth decelerated. From a purely potential combat effectiveness standpoint (according to the report), they were placed back together.

Erinea was particularly noted for her initiative and her marksmanship, qualities which stood out amongst many of her more group-thinking cohort, who averaged hitting 77% of their targets. Erinea by contrast was often closer to 90% than 80%. However, although she took in the Imperial propaganda, she did question why her own world of Taris had been left as something of a backwater, but an officer effectively blamed rebels, republican and separatist holdouts, criminals, and extra-galactic threats as requiring an extensive military budget, and that in addition the sheer scale of the Empire's holdings meant that any one place could only receive limited funding. These answers helped shape Erinea's political and Galactic view. If only people would be loyal to the Empire, and lawful in their conduct, everyone could be uplifted. Likewise, if all of the Imperial military were competent, and others were not corrupt, this would also help, but she suppressed those independent thoughts.

Her qualities of initiative, and her occasional questioning of fellow recruit's tactics during training exercises when they held command appointments highlighted her event more to her instructors, and she was assigned to join the enemy in one training exercise. During this, she took control of half a squad, out of the three squads acting as the OPFOR, and proved herself very effective, but then acted on her own initiative and went rogue. She infiltrated the main exercise group and launched a disruptive skirmish two-minutes before their H-hour, before evacuating on speeder-bikes which had been stolen from the directing staff. She was disciplined by being given multiple punishment duties as well as additional physical training, but equally rewarded by being short-listed for scout trooper training. Finishing Stormtrooper training in the top 5% of female recruits, and top 22% overall, she was sent off for scout-trooper training, where her intrinsic capabilities and talents were nurtured and honed. She came out of contact with Fon, with whom she had started a relationship, and they drifted apart.

Before being posted to Baridan four months ago, Erinea has had some 19 months as a Scout Trooper. In this tumultuous time she has served in Tatooine, and in several outer rim colonies and outposts. She was noted in one action against Tusken raiders on Tatooine, who had surrounded a group of Imperial deserters and were in a firefight with them. She was cited in the After Action Report as 'independently moving to a better firing position despite taking fire from the raiders, before proceeding to eliminate 10 of the 22. She was thus significantly more effective than the remainder of her squad, and enabled the apprehension of several deserters. This timely intervention enabled two to receive medical treatment, thus enabling their legal trial by courts-martial and execution.' However, it was noted in her record that she suffered a 'lapse of judgement and military discipline, followed by a short-term psychological breakdown, which led to her removal from frontline duty for a month .' One of the deserters proved to be Fon Raymo, and she was outraged. Whilst the deserters were being interrogated and transported back to an imperial base, she spent much of the return patrol talking with Fon, at times reminiscing, at times angry at him, at others questioning him. He had helped her with her training, she had come to love him, she had come to healthily be loyal to the Empire because of him. His betrayal of the Empire, she took personally. After some time, she went into a rage, and attacked him, where upon he was so startled he fled. As he ran, Erinea raised her E-11 and shot him twice, and allowed herself to be disarmed and arrested.

Her record and competence represented her well, as did all those in her platoon who vouched for her, and after a period of upset and mental turmoil she returned to various duties, but was transferred to another unit. After a couple of rebel cells were destroyed by units Erinea was attached to, she was sent on a lance-corporal's course, and afterwards was deployed to Barridan. On Barridan she has finally found a unit she has been able to bond with, and has taken pleasure in the nature of the deployment, as since it is a long-term one she is hoping to see a strengthening of Imperial influence overtime. She has been surprised to see how much Captain Raleigh interacts with the troops, and is forming a steadily growing admiration of them.

However, over the last year, since the loss at Endor, she has grown increasingly concerned that the Empire is reaching a critical point in that it may be unable to contain the vast strengthening of the war effort against them as they have been shown to be not invincible. If anything, the news last week from Jakku has confirmed these fears. Nonetheless, she will be loyal to her immediate chain of command, and to the local Imperial military authority.

Another...varied, interesting trooper. I expect she'll have a favor or two owed to the officer/sergeant in that convoy, since I imagine her actions would have lead to a visit to the psyche doc if it were reported.

Jolly good, glad you like it, many thanks! I think that she managed to dodge the weight of the Imperial military legal system by the fact that her unit stood up for her, her strong service record, and in a way she proved her loyalty to the Empire above her personal loyalties.
