NOTICE: This forum is the continuation of a series of forums I made back in 2021. I stopped the series because I became sick with a severe cold and never came back to NS. Sorry if I concerned anybody back then but clearly I did not die from that unspecified sickness. I doubt many people from the old forums will return here as many aren't even on NS anymore. I will provide updates of the situation in this country for you to understand. Now I hope this takes off like the others. Now without further OOC Blabbering. Let us get started

A long time ago the final Emperor of Axadonia was killed by a sniper from the Axadonian First Army. Before his assassination Axadonia saw the worst riots it had ever seen due to the growing autocratization of the Empire and a movement known as the ADM (Axadonian Democratic Movement) spearheaded this Anti-Monarchist zeal. When the New Republic was formed many across the world breathed a sigh of relief as many thought the Republic would be the beginning of a new age of liberty within a nation that has suffered greatly since 1900. However new players would enter the scene and a now hated warlord by the name Tadil would start a revolt in the more Conservative parts of Axadonia (North Axadonia especially. Which is where North Macedonia is irl). These rebels would be known as the Neo-Monarchist Movement and it was dedicated to the restoration of the Axadonian Empire

Tadil's advance was met with a sudden Albanian insurrection that weakened Axadonia greatly and prevented it from crushing the Neo-Monarchists in time. Albania became independent but the Neo-Monarchist Movement did not recognize Albanian independence and proceeded to invade the newly formed Republic while already at war with the New Republic of Axadonia. Despite heavy support from the United States of America, Italy, and the nation known as Sanhana, Tirana fell and Albania collapsed soon after. Forcing the New Republic to reinvade the country and form the AEFA (Axadonian Expeditionary Forces in Albania). This only put further strain on the New Republic as the frontlines became much wider with the inclusion of the Albanian Front. This was made worse by the assassination of the first President. A man named Garven Kapedonidos would become the second President. What did not help Axadonia during these trying times was the sudden Intervention of Yugoslavia which although has been more of a disaster for Yugoslavia it has contributed far more to the suffering of the Axadonian People.

Garven had a more isolationist and strongman personality which caused him to antagonize Joe Biden and other leaders for attempting to vassalize Axadonia. Eventually the United States of America withdrew from the civil war and soon went into civil war.

The civil war continues. And the players have remained the same.

New Republic of Axadonia: Formed out of the destroyed Axadonian Empire. The New Republic is a Presidential Republic with a complex yet well established democratic system with a fully functioning Multi-Party system and free and fair economic, political, and civil rights. The Republic is under the former general and hardliner conservative Garven Kapedonidos who has led the country throughout the rest of the civil war. Garven is the first Greek-Axadonian to ever take power over a Axadonian state. The nation is apart of NATO

Neo-Monarchist Movement: The Neo-Monarchists are a organization recognized by much of NATO as a terrorist organization and by other nations outside of NATO as the true government of Axadonia. Formed by Prince Tadil the Neo-Monarchist Movement has begun a large scale insurgency against the New Republic in the northern parts of Axadonia. The Neo-Monarchists are still led by Tadil years later with the Neo-Monarchists being accused of multiple war crimes including crimes against humanity in Albania and using chemical weapons (supplied by a nation known as Laka) on military and civilian populations. The Neo-Monarchist Movement denies these claims

Yugoslavia: A socialist country, Yugoslavia is one of the final cold war Communist nations left and as such is politically isolated. Yugoslavia started a massive intervention campaign in Axadonia for control over Albania and Kosovo. Yugoslavia however has struggled to fight against Neo-Monarchist forces but continues to fight despite constant denouncement from the New Republic and other NATO Countries.

The stalemate has begun again and both the New Republic of Axadonia and the Neo-Monarchists (who call themselves the Neo-Axadonian Empire) have requested for foreign support to end the stalemate.

OOC: Axadonia is back? Been a very long time!

IC: The Marajarbian Government, currently preoccupied with an embargo made by the Janpian Government and Kalisight Treaty Organization, was unable to fully reinforce the Marajarbian soldiers in Axadonia, but continued its commitment to help the New Republic win this civil war.

Marajarbian troops in the area were living off of the land, and some had actually fought alongside many troops from the New Republic as well. It was expected that this will continue so long as Marajarbia continued to support the New Republic.

New Republic: President Garven Kapedonidos has initiated a large operation against Neo-Monarchist forces. This operation is dubbed Operation Harrier. It began with a large scale bombing campaign by Axadonian artillery and the air force within North Axadonia and the Core Provinces followed by the movement of 200.000 Axadonian soldiers. The goal of this operation seems to be the reconnection of Axadonian Thrace and the rest of the Axius.

Garven has received criticism due to allegation of indiscriminate bombardment. Which he denies by saying "Fake news"

Neo-Monarchists: Neo-Monarchist forces realizing what is happening have moved to defend their coastal Core Territories. They have also begun to attack Albania and AEFA positions. AEFA was not prepared for this and suffered a pushback as a result. Reports of war crimes being committed in Albania again by Neo-Monarchist forces continue. Yugoslavia has also changed the frontlines and has managed to push Neo-Monarchist forces in Montenegro. Tadil has once again denounced Yugoslavia for its unwarranted interventionalism.

[Southeast Marajarbia]

The Marajarbian Forces have officially set up camp at an undisclosed location in Axadonia referred to as Fort Andrews, as the remaining 5,000 Marajarbian troops await an opportunity for reinforcements to arrive. After careful consideration, the Marajarbian Government has ordered the conscription of 10,000 Mystery Realmsian men and women to be deployed as reinforcements to Axadonia as the Marajarbian Government continues to directly fight against Janpian Imperialism.

It is suspected that the Marajarbian Government may call on some allies to further reinforce Marajarbian troops and the New Republic of Axadonia in the near future, should the next battle carry greater losses.

New Republic: The New Republic has begun a second major offensive to try and push the Neo-Monarchist Movement back away from the city of Tehessa and to try and start a much larger invasion of North Axadonia. The Neo-Monarchists are already experiencing the worst of this new offensive.

The Neo-Monarchist Plea: The Neo-Monarchist movement once again requests support from other Pro-Monarchist nations. They remind the world that the Neo-Monarchists are attempting to restore the former and internationally recognized government known as the Empire of Axadonia and that the New Republic is ruled by a usurper faction that undermines Axadonian Society.

Yugoslavia: A stalemate in the North has formed. Yugoslavia is currently on bad terms with both the New Republic and the Neo-Monarchist movement due to its Communist stance. The President of Yugoslavia has stated that due to the New Republic's second president Garven Kapedonidos's Anti-Yugoslav Interventionalist stance.... Yugoslavia shall not recognize the New Republic of Axadonia as the legitimate government and will begin to fund the rebelling Communists in Axadonia. It also does not recognize the AEFA as the legitimate government of Albania and is fully prepared to establish a Socialist Albania. (Do note that the Communist rebels are not dead. I forgot about them so I decided to put them off the map. They are fighting a guerilla war in the South. Sorry)

[Gonswanza]

Seeking to warm relations with Yugoslavia yet again, after having pulled out from the war for various reasons, now seeking to end the stalemate, Gonswanza once again offers a hand to Yugoslavia by flying over ADC-22s and TU-160s, keen on beginning a long and slow buildup of forces within Yugoslavia to break the stalemate. Even if it means pushing a new front, the assurance of Yugoslavia's continued existence was almost needed for Gonswanzan strategy. Especially against Marajarbian intervention, given the recent push against KTO shipping, which is now being exploited as a mild reason for further support of Yugoslav support.

However, this would also mean that forces will be trickling in, flying into Trebine and Podgorica as shipping will take longer to arrive.

In due time, however, Gonswanza shall show once again, with greater momentum against the menace to the south.

Russian Response to the Crisis in Axadonia

The Russian Empire declares its official intent on supporting the oppressed monarchists in Axadonia, with Tsar Tolokonsky Dimitri Anatolievi signing an official order to send 5,000 "volunteers" from the Russian armed forces. With these troops the Tsar sent an unknown amount of older Russian tanks, such as T-90s, missile artillery, such as 9A52-4 Tornados, and firearms, such as older models of the AK-12 (OOC: I can specifics on the amount if y'all wish). The Tsar also orders that a Russian expeditionary force be organized to be sent at a later date to further break the current stalemate that is plaguing the war.

His Dearest asserted his intent to support Prins Tadil and his supporters. In support of Tsar Tolokonsky and his troopers, Ironkeep is sending Commander Molt Taffington and his troopers - Toomost Outland Hecagroup - to free and defend royal interest(s). His troops is presented as is:

[Laka Strolistandiler]

Following the decrease of hostilities into a near-stalemate situation, Lakan forces in the region wasted no time establishing more rigged supply lines and slowly working their way towards establishing much more political power that they’ve initially held. Through R Russia (I’m going to assume that they’re ok with us moving supplies through their country if I’m mistaken tell me) and then, Romania, they hauled the supplies to the operational theatre, initially with the original supplies coming from Mainland Laka to the norther portal city of Murmansk.
Currently, the Lakans have been trying to partially restore some of the damaged civilian infrastructure on Monarchist territory, primarily focusing in war-essential facilities such as electrical grids and infrastructural systems, neither the less civilian infrastructure “got some love” as well, with many civilian Lakans donating some of their stuff to help the “poor and suffering”. Off the cost of Albania one could find an example of this- a Lakan self-propelled nuclear power plant, anchored off the cost of one of several coastal cities. It was closely guarded by a large, grey warship- a modified Slava-class cruiser, changing several of the P-1000 ASM’s for more AA systems and an AEGIS frigate. Generally speaking, Lakan naval presence in the area was limited, but noticeable- using Albania and Core provinces as their primary bases of operation, several ships of the Maltese Squadron were stationed there, with the flagman being a large modernized Kirov-class battlecruiser, which was usually radar picketing off Konanthius. Other than several anti-submarine ships, other vessels worthy of mention were a small but still noticeable escort carrier and 4 dedicated anti-air warships (carrying S-400’s navalize versions) as well as a small detachment of diesel attack submarines. From time to time, one could see a rather unusual sight for these days- an armed merchant cruiser running to and from NM-held territory, ferrying usually civilian supplies. These ships were not belonging neither to Royal Navy, neither to any of Lakan shipping companies- these ships were owned, serviced and lived in by many clans, often called by the names of their ships. These vessels were often heavily armed and usually gather at Malta into convoys of 10-15 vessels, centered around the strongest and largest ships before making a run for the monarchist territory. Sometimes, they’re going to pick passengers there and take them out of the NM territories.

Generally, a lot has changed for the Lakans with the decrease of hostilities. As brutal as they were before, they have fully understood the importance of maintaining a strong back line and thus many military units found themselves rebuilding what was earlier destroyed by none other but them. Furthermore strengthening their political powers, they have requested for several areas to be directly under their control, for simpler and swifter procedures and operations.

OOC: Welcome back Laka

New Republic: New Republican Forces were successful in Operation Charon in terms of pushing the Neo-Monarchist Movement away from Tehessa. Ending the long standing siege. However, Operation Harrier's original successes seem to be at risk due to Lakan support with the attempt to liberate the port of Konanthius "delayed"

Neo-Monarchists: The sudden wave of support from Russia, Ironkeep, and their longtime ally Laka has resulted in much of the support being put on the North Axadonian frontline as well as the city of Jalatos. The city is predicted to soon be a massive battleground between the forces of the Republic and Neo-Monarchists. This was also followed by Operation Guldia. A Neo-Monarchist attack into Axadonian Thrace.

Operation Tito: Out of nowhere Yugoslav forces with the help of Gonswanza have suddenly started a massive offensive against Neo-Monarchist forces with the intention of liberating Montenegro and Serbia by the end of the month. Yugoslavia also intends to invade Albania again. It does not recognize AEFA as the true liberating force of Albania.

Given that Operation Tito has now gone into full swing, this changed things. Aircraft were being rushed over, with infantry paradropped in, along with artillery and mortars. The 71st has also been activated, with the 15th following shortly thereafter, as Gonswanzan destroyers rush to enter the area to lock down the sea. Paired with the Ortiz class arsenal ships, this may prove to be a deadly trial by fire for the newer ship class, as some Oscar class submarines are thrown in as escorts.

Elsewhere, ADC-22s fly over Albanian land, raining hell down upon any resistance on the ground while friendly J-97s and J-102s support them, as TU-160s continue to carry out strikes from deep within Yugoslavia. The Gonswanzans even consider deploying the ADC-160, but the idea is shot down quickly in favor of more rapid transport of troops, armor, and aircraft.

Even as the front is moving south, the sheer mass of the Yugo armed forces is growing over time, with shipping virtually unhindered despite attempts by outside parties to stop them. Supposedly.

Goswanzan attacks in Albania are met with fierce resistance by Lakan AA/AD weapons stationed there- this includes an S-300V4 battery on the Improved Slava-class, protecting the nuclear power plant, two S-350 and one S-400 batteries, all of which are scattered around the area, frequently changing positions and never remaining at a singular point for more than a couple of hours. As soon as their radar stations (this SAM system has been modified to allow secondary radars for target detection tk be placed dozens of kilometers away from engagement radars and launching vehicles) detect the target and a solution is effectively formulated, launch vehicles launch and then immediately pack up, changing positions to one of several pre-designated ones. Most of the time they receive their orders through SATLINK or, in case of marching orders and “secure positions” via couriers with papers, which further complicates their detection via passive sensors or ELINT.
Lakan aerial assets have learned their lessons from the first part of the conflict and now operate much more covertly, almost always flying at treetop altitudes, their sensors remaining quiet- if they’ll get within effective range of their AAM’s, they’re going to launch them in TWS mode, having said missiles being guided in by data provided by AWACS or land-based radars. Attack planes would be near completely not present at this frontline, due to immense pressure by hostile AA, it was viewed as too much danger. Several Flying Corps and Fleet Air Arm squadrons, stationed deep within Yugoslavia would attempt to intercept the attacking Goswanzan bombers, their main equipment being Mig-25PDSL’s (MiG-25 with MiG-31 avionics) and other dedicated interceptor planes.

Meanwhile, on the southern frontline, Lakan armored units would attempt to mount a counteroffensive from Konanthius, seeking to draw the strategic attention of the Republican forces, with the intent to buy the allied forces at Pellasopol some time to regroup, rearm and mount an effective defense, preventing the fall of this strategically important city. Kirov-class, HMS Inexorable alongside with her escorts- two AEGIS destroyers and one frigate would attempt to bombard Base 55, primarily targeting defensive facilities.

New Republic: The Lakan Counterattack in Thrace was met by fierce opposition by New Republican forces and Mechs especially from the 16th Army. The New Republic has begun a brutal shelling campaign against Neo-Monarchist and Lakan forces in Thrace but so far the frontline in the East has been frozen. Because of this, The New Republic (noting the use of Albania by the Neo-Monarchists) have begun a second major AEFA offensive. This has begun the long anticipated Siege of Jalatos. Meanwhile Base 55 has requested naval support by Republican forces which will soon arrive. For now, Base 55 has begun bombarding the Lakans right back.

Diplomacy: Feeling the stress of now surprisingly overwhelming support for the Neo-Monarchists. President Garven Kapedonidos has sent diplomats to NATO countries to increase support for the New Republic.

Neo-Monarchists: The Battle of Jalatos has begun and many deaths are anticipated. Jalatos is a strategically important city and if it falls the city of Tirana could be taken by the New Republic. Risking the entire Albanian front. Because of this, A lot of Neo-Monarchist resources have been dedicated to stopping the Axadonian offensive. The Neo-Monarchists are still humiliated from their defeat during the Charon Offensive so they hope that a victory at Jalatos will help the popularity of the Neo-Axadonian Empire.

Given the losses of gunships and some bombers in the skies, more aircraft (J-97s and J-102s) are shipped over, flying with Yugoslav aircraft to assist in offenses. On the ground, the first Gonswanzan tanks arrive via rapid transports (Comet II class), the Trumpets rolling off to war with Sword APCs as support. Adding to that, artillery has increased in presence, consisting of Al-Fao howitzers, G6 howitzers, and some limited batteries of Iskander missile complexes being deployed to hammer down Lakan offenses against Yugoslav forces. Reinforcing the troops further, the Tyulpan and Vasilek see limited deployment as well to further support infantry, with heavy artillery being noted as key in their advances against an enemy that is well dug in.

Yet, even with all that, UGVs and BAA still play a heavy role, with infantry moving and using such armor to brave oncoming fire, returning fire with PKMs, AR-416s, and various other firearms while engaging Lakan forces.

Speaking of weapons, the 15th is making good use of the GRS-092 and 090 fast attack vehicles, having mounted M202 FLASH launchers or RPO-A shmels to them for a mobile platform. These infantry has been noted to be a terror to conventional infantry on both sides, given that they are rather straightforward in their brutal tactics in the field. Simply put, they are here to set the world on fire by any means possible, and anything that gets in their way will also burn.

However, they are pushing down for Tazalan, with heavy support from artillery and aircraft (which includes helicopters from Yugoslavia and Gonswanzan aircraft), along with armored support as well, for the sake of pushing the lines further south for a hopeful victory. Even if it means burning a hole into Albania.

International Waters

5x Katyacha-Class Guided Missile Destroyers sails in V formation, actively searching for any targets with their radars, while on the front, a Revolution-Class Aircraft carrier continues on launching patrol sorties and AWACS into the area. Hisshin aircrafts combs the sky under the guidance of AWACS, which continues on giving the rest of the fleet with intel and necessary information. The datalink is also connected to the satellites, which provides the ships and jets additional information of the area. Given the Katyacha's radar range and the sea area, the AWACS might be a bit too much, though its better safe than sorry. While they're at it, helicopters continues on dropping sonar nets, which they link into the rest of the Revolutionary Navy. They actively search for any former Janpian forces in the area, attempting to relieve them off from New Axadonia. They also sent a small squadron of 3 jets in an attempt to give leaflets in Janpian language, ordering them to evacuate at the small town of Fier at Albania. Though noting the small area and range, the Revolutionaries flies on a neutral banner.

Despite fierce resistance, the Lakan forces push on- their new tanks, FV 228/54’s (Object 490’s) possess the necessarily heavy frontal armor to combat the more numerous enemies, all while lighter armored units, such as VFM5 light tanks will provide the necessary support to mountainous units, which should allow them to divert hostile attention away from Albania, easying the grip on allied and Lakan units in the area.

Shelling campaign was met with a standard response to large-scale artillery operations- advancing units would often rapidly change positions between pre-designated positions, their columns would now more often include SPAA’S and mobile jammers, to counter artillery correction via aircraft and UCAAV)s or fire control radars respectively. Furthermore, allied artillery will be concentrated in the area, attempting to reduce the severity of hostile artillery’s interference with the interference- they’re going to basically fight “artillery duel”, firing guided and unguided shells whenever a firing solution would be developed by allied counter-battery radar and then packing up and changing positions to avoid being fired on “in return” Allied air presence in forms of helicopters and COIN planes, both using mountainous terrain to their advantage (flying low over allied territory using mountains as additional cover from hostile radar) would also be present, their primary orders being delivering allied infantry units to and from positions of importance and supplying the advancing armor and mechanized infantry. Hostile bombardment of the fleet is largely negated by HMS Inexorable, which is able to effectively defend itself against the majority of ASM’s- the only ships suffering major damage is one of the destroyers, which after fighting fires and damages for some time, is considered being mission killed and turns back for land, all while the rest of the fleet continues engaging with defensive systems, with the intention being disabling most of the bases’ air defense- in the future, the base is planned to be captured by the VDV.

Seeking to prevent brutalsky city combat tying up most of NM’ units in the area, several Lakan mechanized infantry, heavily supported by tactical aviation attempt to push through into the rear part of Republican units, intent being allowing allied units already present in the city to push them back. During all campaigns, they’re also going to rely on AWACS and AEW/ELINT aviation.

In Albania, their actions would largely remain unchanged, with the primary burden of countering Goswanzan air activities lying on SAM systems. The few Royal Flying Corps 5th generation planes will be used for surgical strikes on most important infrastructural and support targets, utilizing whatever they can to avoid detection both in and out.

Janpian planes would be frequently met by Lakan fighters attempting to push them out of contested airspace as well as staging mock attacks on their warships. Meanwhile, the 4 diesel electric hunter-killers in the area are going to be moved closer towards the fleet, but are going to stay out of it’s effective detection range for now. Their ships AEW going to meet the Slava-class-led fleet, which a,though smaller is a potent force nonetheless

New Republic and Anatolia: Diplomats from the the New Republic of Axadonia were particularly successful in restoring Anatolian involvement in the crisis. The Anatolian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, and Airforce) have begun a collaboration with the Axadonian Armed Forces (Everything. Even the space force) and have thus begun the AXNIA Initiative (a combination of Axadonia and Anatolia). Before the AXNIA Initiative Axadonia initiated a large bombardment campaign in the Core Provinces to mess up Lakan supply lines. AXNIA involves a sudden Anatolian-Axadonian counteroffensive in East Thrace for two purposes.

1: Protection of Silo 11. A armed nuclear silo in dangerous proximity to Lakan forces.
2: The end of the Base 55 Siege. Base 55 is an important naval base for the New Republic. The New Republic does not intend to give it up so easily.

This was also followed by the arrival of the Axadonian Navy at Base 55 which includes Railgun Battleships and Railgun Cruisers. They begin to fire upon any Lakan Ship near Base 55 and also assist the AXNIA Initiative.

Neo-Monarchists: Despite the Neo-Monarchist disadvantage and the fact that Lakan forces in Thrace have only achieved half of what their strategic offensives true intentions were. There is still some progress on the Neo-Monarchist side. Neo-Monarchist forces have started their own counteroffensive under new General Kalzatar Kalza named Operation Deimos. This counteroffensive is a offensive in Eastern Albania and parts of North Axadonia dedicated to pushing the New Republic back and protect the city of Avarcium. Avarcium is thus saved from an immediate siege. The Neo-Monarchists as a result have managed to threaten the city of Spersos by retaking the entirety of Lake Ohrid. Neo-Monarchist forces on the Yugoslav front were able to push Yugoslav forces away from Pristanaria and thus ensure the defense of the city for the time being.

Yugoslavia: The Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia has continued to ignore the New Republican Front. Instead they have moved their forces into the city of Tazalon (starting the Siege of Tazalon). This was followed by a bombardment of Kosovo and North Axadonia with fighter jets and bombers causing extensive civilian casualties that the New Republic criticizes for high cost of life. Due to the Lakan presence in North Axadonia a large dog fight has begun in the skies of Kosovo and North Axadonia. Yugoslavia has a disadvantage in terms of its own air force's size compared to Lakan forces. However, Foreign support from Gonswanza seems to be helping Yugoslavia a lot. Yugoslavia intends to continue pushing Neo-Monarchist forces hopefully out of Serbia and Montenegro soon. Which would regain the popularity of the people as the defeats in the war have drawn harsh criticism.

The Star Contingency: Due to the prolonged nature of the ongoing civil war and with heavy Lakan support. Garven has put the Star Contingency on hold for possible declaration. The New Republic has been reluctant to initiate space warfare or use experimental Plasma Railgun Technology but the possibility of a third stalemate is on the verge of forcing Garven's hand. However, The Axadonian Parliament has not even received a proposition for the Star Contingency and thus this is currently still on hold.

Considering earlier attacks by Axadonian artillery and heavy allied AA/AD presence in Core Provinces, the bombardment campaign should be far less effective than expected (also considering that during the non-warring part, Lakan troops have constructed many additional and secondary infrastructure installations for the very purpose of partially replacing those that will go out of action. Basically, their logistical effort is damaged, but not to a point that is it unable to support their current operations, however if they were to expand on them, then they’ll start to run into some problems.

Lakan fighters based in the area, non-busy with frontline fighter ops or interception of Goswanza/Yugo raids into the territory are now going to fly ASAT (anti-sattelite) missions using ASM-135 to attack and destroy any NATO intelligence satellite overflying the theatre as well as hostile GPS sattelites. The stockpiles of these missiles are rather numerous and so are the targets, for this reason, a pinnacle of Lakan space combat- a gigantic (for a sattelite 30 meters is gigantic) Cossack orbital laser platform (IRL Soviet Skif orbital laser sattelite) is going to be towed into heliocentric orbit above the theatre. Although it’s laser is incapable of defeating ballistic missiles, it can nonetheless destroy far lighter armored satellites and almost any ASAT weapons targeted at it, which is exactly what it’s going to do. One of it’s primary targets will be the GPS satellites, for reasons discussed later…
An Almaz manned recce station is put on high orbit, usually being “screened” by Cossack, which should allow it to function relatively defended from most orbital threats. And if a satellite approaches it it’s going try to kill it with a 23-mm cannon because it has one.
Finally, Lakans request for one of nuclear silos to be repurposed to house one of their Istrebitel’ Sputnikov orbital warfare platform. Although dated and upgraded immeasurable amount of times during it’s service, Isterbitel’ Sputnikov is a time-tested ASAT system, possessing a larger probability of kill than air-launched ASAT missiles. Almaz is not even competitive because it cannot even change positions on it’s own and has to be moved around by Progress.

Lakans currently have no intention of taking or even advancing on missile site, so I guess they have achieved this objective even before anything started..?

However, they are HELLBENT on taking Base 55, believing it’s capture to be one of the most critical elements of achieving a tactical victory in the East, for it will allow semi-submersible cargo vessels to successfully resupply Core Provinces as well as will open up new possibilities for naval landings. The stage is set for one of the most epic naval battles of the war, as the Lakan fleet, clashes with the Anatolian one. The primary defense employed by allied fleet against the coalition one is EW- rail gun projectiles have to rely on GPS guidance and thus are somewhat susceptible to GPS jamming and can even be rendered near useless if Lakan ASAT efforts will result in some form of success. Furthermore, railguins suffer from a very nasty problem- extensive barrel wear means that a cannon’s barrel will have to be replaced after several dozens of shots, which means that although initially they will have a firepower supremacy over the Lakan fleet, as the battle progresses, more and more ships will have to temporarily stop firing, to replace barrels. Finally, railgun battleships make for a very large and very expensive target- something that Lakan Tu-22M3’s, previously sitting in shelters in Core Provinces are going to attempt to take advantage of.

Basically, their plan for the naval battle is to stay on the defensive, partially retreating from Base 55 under the cover of land-based AA/AD units (if AXNIA will employ air power against them), remaining at the edge of the railgun’s effective range (or as far as possible). Coupled with earlier attempts to destroy GPS satellites and extensive GPS jamming, both by ships themselves and two land-based Krasukha-4 jammer stations, this should mean that to get a high probability of kill, AXNIA’n warships will have to fire a LOT of rounds, resulting in high barrel wear. Now considering the fact that railguns require A LOT of power, it would be reasonable to assume that they also serve an important role in the vessels air defense- because if they were to field both effective AA/MD they’d run into problems with power supply and would probably end up with gigantic floating reactors with guns strapped onto them. Once the shelling will become more sparse, two squadrons of Tu-22M3’s and one squadron of T-4MSL (T-4MS with better avionics engines and stuff) are going to make their move, previously flying in circles deep into Core Territories and covered by a single Krasukha-2 jamming station if enemy will have AWACS/OTH radar present in the area. 6 T-4MSL, each carrying two Zircon hypersonic ASM’s will make a run for the enemy fleet, launching and turning back to base as soon as the missiles will be within effective range, their primary targets being warships and air defense ships (Ticonderoga and stuff), after that is the turn of 24 Tu-22M3’s, each squadron of whom possesses a vastly different task. 12 Tu-22M3’s will be carrying modified SS-N-22 Sunburns, replacing warhead with additional fuel, jamming equipment and Lunenberg Lenses, making them look on the radar screen as Badger Tu-16’s, which were (falsely) earlier claimed to have been supplied to Monarchists (they have turned out to be in such a bad condition that they wouldn’t have even been able to safely fly from Laka to NM). While the hostile fleet will be entertaining themselves shooting at “Badgers”, the rest of 12 Tu-22M3’s will launch 36 low-observability sea-skimming missiles (basically SOM but larger), probably targeting each vessel (idk how many ships they’ve got there), which should be able to get close enough to their targets without the enemy actually detecting them until terminal phase. Two Su-30 squadrons will be present and doing circles at the back, their job to escort the Tu-22M3’s if the enemy will have fighter birds in the air.

Near Tazalan, considering the lack of Lakan forces (most of which are tied south, in Albania and in the east), mounting a defense will prove a harder task. Neither the less, command has dispatched a 2 Marine mechanized infantry battalions and several tank companies to support them. Their job will be preventing the encirclement of the city, which should not be that hard task for them, considering improved logistical infrastructure and high mobility. In the city, Lakan military advisors would be present, advising NM forces to mount a defense in depth strategy, not allowing the enemy to form a effective frontline and relying on ambush tactics. If this will be effective, their plan is to then partially withdraw most damaged units from the city, which should result in more Yugo forces moving in, allowing Marines to pull a flanking maneuver and effectively free the city from further encirclement.

OOC: What about the casualties? And space war stuff
Lakan fleet begins counting their first losses with a single BPK being sunk and two more critically damaged and returning to base- one while being towed there by an armed tugboat. Inexorable takes a hit from a rail gun, damaging her superstructure and severely wounding the Captain, who is replaced by the chief officer. Despite this, the CIC is by large undamaged and minus a couple of sensors, the battlecruiser is still operational and very, VERY angry.

Wishing not to give up on the momentum gained by them forcing the hostile fleet to request reinforcements, Lakan fleet pushes on, intending to close the distance with AXNIA fleet before it’ll be reinforced by additional vessels. Despite fighter planes being present, T-4MSL’s nonetheless fly into the battle, accelerating to Mach 3.5 and traveling at the near highest limit of where a plane can fly (30 kilometers), before releasing Zircon missiles modified for air-launch capability. This modification essentially scraps all but hypersonic components of the missile (no need to accelerate it to speeds at which ramjet is operational if the carrier plane will already do this!), replacing them with additional EW, ECCM and a substantial increase to it’s warhead. Su-30’s will also close in and perform defensive air ops over the fleet, their intention being to buy as much time as possible for the Tu-22M3’s to get in and launch- the fleet can easily protect itself from these fighter aircraft. Su-30’s will engage hostiles at the furthest distance possible- they intend not to kill them but to force them to crank and dive, which will both buy time for Tu-22M3’s and force AXNIA fighters into low altitude, from where they’ll BVRAAM’s will have a harder time getting within range to Lakan bombers (because thick atmosphere). All ships of the fleet at this point should also get within range of their ship-based ASM’s, which means that it’s a good idea to launch all of them- no one wants to cosplay Moskva

New Republic Military Moves

Despite Lakan forces insistence on chasing the Railgun Battleships and Cruisers there was already another fleet of Non-Railgun Cruisers nearby to reinforce the flanks. However once again the New Republic is a bit slow in evacuating ships. Republican fighter jets instead of rushing towards the Lakan Airforce and Navy like idiots instead moves closer to the safety of the New Republican + Anatolian Navy where Anti-Air can be used against them. The New Republic also deploys submarines and already begins to fire missiles at the Lakan Navy from a far distance.


New Republic

The New Republic has begun to point out the possibility of a ceasefire in the civil war due to its 24 year span and because nobody seems to be winning. This is specifically sent to both the Communist Faction (Yugoslavia) and the Neo-Monarchists.

Secretly however, Axadonia has also sent diplomats to Bulgaria and Italy to talk about more potential involvement. Especially from Bulgaria.
