The Modern Gameplay Compact
In recent times, there have been gradual shifts in the gameplay community that have manifested in the form of increased polarisation and increasingly threatening behaviour from some hostile elements of gameplay towards our regions. This in combination with the looming technical update on frontiers, has underlined the need for us to collaborate and work closer together, to defend our mutual interests, common values, and ultimately, our security and sovereignty. Our regions all have a storied history of pursuing a pragmatic path, fostering an independent spirit that is based on rejecting the ideological dogma of traditional gameplay dichotomy, and instead identifying separate, more complex and nuanced interests for our communities.
There comes a time when the best way to protect those interests is to work together and make a collective commitment, and we believe that time is now. We have already seen the value of working together to achieve shared goals, combat our common enemies, and protect mutual interests, through the Pax Polaris Occidens between The North Pacific, The Pacific, and The West Pacific. The success and prescience of this endeavour underlines that now is the right time to widen coordination and cooperation among our regions in the wake of recent threats against us, and to build an even greater framework of principles for mutual defence and friendship.
Therefore, The North Pacific, Europeia, Balder, The West Pacific, and The Pacific announce the Modern Gameplay Compact, a historic agreement which will serve to unite our regions in the pragmatism of pursuing our own interests and goals, while simultaneously promoting and deepening our cooperation on a number of different topics, but most especially mutual defense policy and preservation of our common values. We believe that in light of the impending update, providing security and defense guarantees on a multilateral level is an avenue to insulate our communities from the ongoing ideological shifts and threats.
We are confident that this new era will bring its challenges to the political and military landscapes, but we will rise to meet any challenges. We will not shrink from them, and we must not if we plan to maintain the choice and ability to act as we see fit according to our regional principles and laws. Therefore, in that spirit, this agreement will be brought before the respective governments of the various signatories to ratify like any other diplomatic agreement.
Our principles of strong diplomacy, of unity over division against various malign forces, and working together to protect the values that have kept our regions as they are for many years, will serve to form the basis of our collective commitments. Our regions are individually tied to each other and will now be multilaterally tied to each other. This agreement provides the right balance between flexibility and collaboration we desire to promote our region's interests, it is a Modern solution to the challenges and opportunities that face us today and going forwards.
