Welcome to the official embassy of The Empire of The Ice States. Here you can apply for an embassy, or peruse the Empire's diplomatic relationships and embassies.

The Ice States is a monarchic theocratic empire located in Greater Dienstad, ruled with a fair hand by Emperor Sotolo II and the divine Klyprer, through the Divine Scribe Theodore Lowney. We seek to expand our foreign relationships, and we are happy to accept embassies with like-minded nations, so long as they follow our embassy regulations. All ambassadors receive diplomatic immunity, and therefore will not be penalised by the Empire for illegal acts, but will be deported and the embassy may, at the discretion of the Duke of Magecastle, be terminated. We also reserve the right to terminate or deny an embassy for any hostile activity against the Ice States. Anyone who is sent as a diplomat to the Ice States and currently under arrest warrant or otherwise wanted for acts committed prior to becoming a diplomat to The Ice States will not be protected under diplomatic immunity.

Embassies will be allotted in the Diplomatic Complex of the nation's centre of diplomacy, Magecastle, with a full list of available and used areas listed here. Each embassy may utilise one building, and may store any items, excluding prohibited goods. Each embassy may have up to sixty diplomatic staff.

Prohibited goods are the following _

1. Certain drugs which may, in addition to recreational use, have a medical use, or equipment specifically for use thereof
   
2. Weapons of mass destruction,
   
3. Any material that may contain propaganda against the Ice States as well as prohibited books,
   
4. Any sort of non-canned food, and
   
5. Alive or dead animals.

The Ice States is home to a large military of 1,711,166 personnel, led by General Burkes, which we are willing to deploy on behalf of our allies if in need. We take diplomatic security seriously, and will gladly deploy divitions of the Ice Military to help ensure security of foreign embassies upon request. We also permit nations to deploy security forces, such as law enforcement or military, at their embassy, but security deployments may not have more than 50 total security personnel, or 30 should an Ice division already be stationed at that embassy.

Common ground is seldom the reason for nations to establish diplomatic relations. Rather, diplomacy tends to be an acknowledgement of a lack of common ground and a willingness to use communication to bridge such gaps.

The constitution of Tangatarehua binds our Empire and no other nation and therefore it cannot be accurately stated that we prohibit another nation's ideology. You may if you wish condemn us for what your culture perceives as a vice and we could in turn choose to condemn you for the morally incorrect practice of slavery.

However please note we have very specifically chosen not to condemn you but to instead reach out to you and attempt to understand you.

I am confident that it would be more strategically beneficial to your nation to maintain diplomatic ties to a neutral nation that controls a large exclusive economic zone in southeastern Greater Dienstad than it would to push us into the arms of those who seek to isolate and condemn you.

While he is not truly fluent, he immediately volunteered out of his passion for what he considers to be a beautiful language. He hopes, in his spare time, to eventually be able to translate Icemen classics and the Cult of Klyprer's scriptures to further TurtleShroomian understanding of the false pagan faiths and cultural epics.

We seek to establish an Embassy with your nation for various reasons. First, the Theocracy will play a role in the monitoring of your evolution away from slavery and such efforts would be best coordinated on a more local level for both nations' benefit. Second, your nation is quite close to ours and now that the policy differences between our nations have lessened we believe it important to communicate and work together.
