Personality: Astrid's personality has been largely shaped by her childhood and her military service. Keeping her rebellious younger brother Torbjörn in line during &after her parents' divorce & standing in loco parentis for her step-siblings for some time combined with the rank hierarchy of the armed forces to more or less force the development of an extremely long temper as well as break down any classist barriers she had, though she is still a free spirit at heart and chafes somewhat under extreme formality despite giving off an outward impression of seriousness and reserve. She has no qualms about hard work, physical confrontation (should the situation require it) or getting dirt under her nails and has a particular soft spot for children and animals.

Bio:

Born out of wedlock on December 10, 1995 to Torbjörn Cärrino and Johanna Reynholm after what happened upstairs at a university rager that March did not stay upstairs, Astrid's early life was shaped by her parents' tumultuous shotgun marriage and her mother's alcoholism. Though not an outright abusive drunk, Johanna's bare-minimum parenting style, mood swings and frequent shouting matches with her husband meant that Astrid often found herself inventing stories, songs or games on the spot to keep her little brother Torbjörn happy & distracted, an artistic talent she would later channel into class honors for poetry & composition though athletics- specifically gymnastics -were always more of a focus. A history assignment in secondary school profiling a notable woman from Brettain history (Cpt. Morgana Magnusdottir, the first woman admitted into the Royal Marines) sparked an interest in the military and soon enough she was happily getting measured for a uniform while her father was busy signing JROTC registration paperwork. Dealing with her parents’ divorce was perhaps less stressful than it otherwise could have been, as her mother was in rehab at the time and the separation was frankly a relief to all parties involved.

Tertiary (high) school proved rewarding if strenuous, with gymnastics & JROTC occupying what time she had outside of the regular obligations of academia as well as the need to keep a rather tight leash on Torbjörn Jr. during his rebellious adolescent phase. Nevertheless, after she graduated with respectable marks considering her family circumstances she found herself faced with a choice. In all honesty JROTC had been something of her own rebellion against her great-aunt Mariella (a united struggle with all her female cousins) but she’d come to enjoy the camaraderie and feeling like a part of something bigger and she’d developed into a seriously impressive shot during summers spent hunting with her Uncles Arin & Henrik. Application and acceptance to the Royal Marine Academy followed in short order, and Astrid took to the routine of studying, training and assigned duties like a duck to water along with establishing for herself a reputation as a top-flight markswoman and in later semesters basically assigning herself as a sort of informal den mother to new recruits.

After graduation and boot camp (not required of her as an officer but it seemed only logical to better understand the enlisted under her command), Astrid went through six months of intense sniper training as a primary specialist position before assignation to Joint Base Marinhal as a platoon leader within Company F of the 33rd Battalion and immediately adopted a hands-on approach that frequently saw her down in the mud, smoke and chaos of exercises wearing the same war paint as her subordinates because in her words she “joined to fight, not to file bloody reports.” In addition to keeping herself & her platoon in shape behind the scope of a rifle and helping show new recruits the ropes when necessary, she is also a member of the Combined Forces Honor Guard: an elite group of servicemembers from across the military that performs ceremonial roles during coronations, state & veterans’ funerals, installation of Chiefs of Staff & Ministers of Defense or transfer of command, and the opening & closing of state visits.

What gift will you be presenting to the King: A treasure-bound four-volume set of Brettain mythology, folklore and epic poetry. Additionally, she would be willing to perform something on her violin if desired and has prepared an original composition just in case.
Lodging: Astrid would enjoy staying with a family in the village and is happy to compensate the family or chip in with household chores to make up for any inconvenience this causes her hosts.
Miscellaneous Information: The order her rank and title are announced in doesn't matter, and she'll be bringing her ceremonial sword as obligated by her CFHG membership as well as a dirk & thigh scabbard just in case a certain someone gets any smartarse ideas. She's every bit a lady like Asha, but this particular Cärrino has much more of the family iron fist hidden in the velvet glove.

Akosua was born in the Imperial Palace of Gondar to Emperor Tewodros IV and Empress Nsia, she was named after her maternal grandmother who had recently passed and is the 5th child of Tewodros IV. Akosua lived in the cosmopolitan heartland of Ethiopia for most of her young life, were she could meet numerous peoples from around the world and grew up with a deep fascination of the world outside Ethiopia. Akosua felt that her best chance to see the world would also come with serving her country, and so she would enlist with the Imperial Army of Ethiopia at 16, on an extended training regiment to account for her other studies, she would eventually complete her basic training and deploy to the outer reaches of Ethiopia for her deployment in the province of North Kenya.

Despite her high birth and relation tot he Emperor, Akosua was adamant on partaking in military operations, having signed up for the services not to get some prestige to her name but to actually serve. For three years she would be deployed in north Kenya on and off, and each time she was frustrated by the endeavor. North Kenya was under constant threat by separatist insurgents, many of which were armed and supported by the smaller neighboring country of the Free Republic of Kenya. Akosua would learn to sympathize with the rebels somewhat, seeing the harsh conditions the people of the region were placed under, and she started to question Ethiopian occupation of the region, when these concerns were made apparent she was redeployed in a peacekeeping mission to the province of Somalia, which was under martial law after a natural disaster wrecked the coastline.

For the next few years she would attend to her more stately duties, meeting with various places around the globe. She had already visited Rhomania a few times, including joint training exercises in Laconia. In 2015 she attended a festival in Jakarta, acting as Ethiopia's representative to Indonesia (A former Ethiopian colony). The following year she would visit the eastern country of Jaksa where she made friends with the Prime Ministers daughter and was overwhelmed experiencing the Sino-Polish culture of the country. She would return t the region the following year on an international peacekeeping mission in the Siber Khanate, where the constant cold, blizzards and dark nights haunted her time there. Her final great stop around the world was in 2018 where she visited the Free Republic of Kenya, attending along with official diplomats in the first of many talks about a pull out from northern Kenya.

In 2019 she wrote a series of memoirs telling of her disappointment in the Empire's treatment of it's Kenyan subjects, criticizing the ideology of Ethiopian Imperialism which lead to such a series of events, and wrote about how the people of north Kenya should reunite with their southern brethren. She would further note that the situation in north Kenya is a failure of not only the Ethiopian Empire, but a disappointment to the countries cosmopolitan nature, which had been the framework for other peaceful multi-ethnic African countries, especially in the wake of European decolonization.

At age 30, Akosua has decided to rest from her adventure, feeling that now is the time to settle down and start a family, familial obligations see her looking for other great houses to marry into but she is fine with marrying people with no prior prestige or political ties. She is hoping to be accepted to arrive to the Frozen Forest as a suitor, even as she is less than pleased at the snowy conditions.


What will you be bringing with you: Just the necessary supplies for the dreaded winter conditions and things like a phone and self care items.
What gift will you be presenting to the King: Akosua will bring with her some coffee beans grown from her estate, as she figures it wouldn't hurt to give Ivan a taste of Ethiopia's major contribution to the world. She will also present a 16th century sword used by an ancestor of hers for Ivan's collection and use, said weapon having been used to cut through Ethiopia's enemies in it's historic conquest of the Horn of Africa.

Hanbyeol has shown to be taking after her mother quite a lot from a young age. She seemed to enjoy singing and dancing, and began her training as an idol at the age of 12. In 2032, she was an independent contestant in the show Youth Producers 101 (think of it as R1's equivalent of Youth with You or Produce 101), barely joining the group formed from it at 12th place, competing against contestants from the top entertainment agencies. It was in the show where she was scouted by a representative from Red Squirrel Entertainment, who asked her to audition for its next girl group. In 2033, she was one of the women chosen as the members of Sky Five. Her performances in Youth Producers 101 inspired a fellow contestant, Zhao Wuxing, to sign up under the same company and the two remained close friends.

Between the Third World War and her early career as an idol, she awakened into her powers and joined her half-sisters, the vampire twins Camilla and Camellia in finding their missing mother, becoming one of the founding members of the Starchild Sorority along with Yali and the twins themselves.

When the Third World War broke out, her group's activities were postponed and Hanbyeol honed her skills by singing for refugees escaping the conflict. By the end of the war, Red Squirrel Entertainment went bankrupt, and Hanbyeol's contract, along with those of her fellow members, were bought by Skytree Entertainment and they resumed activities in 2043.

Sorry to be hard on you, Arjunnagar, but this is not a normal ball thread. This thread is specifically for the purpose of TFF's Head of State courting foreign women in the hopes of marrying one of them (all of that done in a respectful, non-fetishized manner). That was clear from the very title, not to mention the Opening Post.
We'll have to see, what TFF thinks, he is the OP of this thread, but between you and me? I'd start reading the Opening Posts in the future.
