A small tear fell down Doc's eyes. Not from sobbing, but from the fact that he had just eaten a rather large onion beforehand, and the irritants made him water. He wasn't about to shed tears for one of the most controversial politicians in American history, but wasn't about to raise hell over some post office either... It was just a post office, anyways, and once this was out of the way, then the real legislative good-ness could ooze out, like a melty, cheesy... cheese pizza.

Doc was now hungry, unfortunately, but he supressed his grumbling stomach to vote on the bill.

I hope you understand how deeply unpopular forced busing policies are on a national level, and that in fact blocking action on this issue will do more harm than good for our electoral chances. This bill would not jeopardize our majority, but in fact strengthen it by preventing the possibility of Republicans flanking us from the south as Silvermilk did in 1964.
