BERLIN-VIENNA PACT

After a long period of negotiation between representatives of the Holy Empire of Deutsch-Francia and the Empire of Austro-Bohemia in the city of Berlin, the two sides agreed to a formal alliance based on a mutual defense pact and a desire to encourage economic prosperity. It was also agreed that this alliance would not simply be restricted to those two nations, but would instead be open for the various nations of the world to freely join, with a particular emphasis on monarchies.

The decision to form this alliance was first proposed in the aftermath of the cold war between the KTO and GENA/GCN, and it intends to remain separate from either faction or its successor organizations. The hope is that the creation of this organization might prevent another rivalry between two major international organizations, and instead champion an order dominated by many smaller organizations that are able to find a way to peacefully cooperate with each other.

Fred Rogers walks into the room, sits down at his assigned seat, and grabs a drink of water before introducing himself.

Fred Rogers: “My name is Fred Rogers. I am here to represent Marajarbian interests within this…interesting little alliance.”

František Folta, the Visegrad representative, arrives in the room and greets the other people present:

The Deutsch-Francian representative, Karl August Freiherr von Ritterburg arrives with a small collection of papers. He sits down, and proceeds to greet everyone.

"Good day gentlemen. It is wonderful that you could be here today. I am Karl August Freiherr von Ritterburg, and I'm here to represent the Holy Empire of Deutsch-Francia. Hopefully, some of the other representatives will be here soon." Von Ritterburg says.

"Good day gentlemen. It is wonderful that you could be here today. I am Karl August Freiherr von Ritterburg, and I'm here to represent the Holy Empire of Deutsch-Francia. Hopefully, some of the other representatives will be here soon." Von Ritterburg says.

More specifically, I wish to propose that this alliance place harsh sanctions on the nations of Zarnicovia Nova, Phenyzia, and the Cult of Grand Unity due to reports over their recent actions. We in Deutsch-Francia consider such to be necessary because we cannot just sit back and do nothing. What do you say, gentlemen? Von Ritterburg says.

IC: “I believe that the Zarnicovian problem can be solved with a simple Boycott, Disinvestment, and Sanctions document, which has worked well in the past against many enemies in causing transitions of power through democratic means. As for Phenyzia, the GENA already suspended them and will not take any form of economic action against them. Maybe another suspension, but not expulsion.”

As an example, if it weren't for the GCN-KTO Cold War, this alliance wouldn’t have existed, and my Aursian counterpart would not have been present either in just about a lot. Now, this is the second big Civil War Season that Marajarbia has participated in, and it is alliances such as the Berlin-Vienna Pact and its goals which actually contribute quite a bit towards many geopolitical changes which will impact the next Civil War Season, too."
