Welcome to the fourth edition of Anaia’s regional association football championship!

Please read the following before posting

The CAFA Cup is Anaia’s Regional Championship for Association Football. It is open to nations in the Anaia Region, provided that they were a member of the region at the time this was posted.

To sign up, please post in this thread with your roster information. Sign-ups without a roster will not be accepted, and posting placeholders (i.e. “reserved for roster information”) will be looked at poorly.

Puppet Entries: If a user signs up with a nation that entered the previous CAFA, they may enter up to two nations, provided they were both in the Anaia region at the time that this post was created. In their signup/roster post, users must indicate that their second nation -- typically called a puppet -- as such. Undeclared puppets who do not comply with this rule may have all nations associated with their user removed from the tournament.

Also recommended to include an RP permissions box. For example:

At this time, we are also seeking a new CAFA Administrator, to replace Legalese, who shall be stepping down from the role following this cycle. Interested parties should TG Legalese to express interest or for more questions.

Role of the CAFA Adminstrator:
  • Post the signup and bid thread for upcoming CAFA Cup competitions.
  • Collect and count votes for the host bids for subsequent CAFAs
  • Maintain and post the CAFA Nation Rankings in advance of the next CAFA
  • Other duties as needed to continue Anaia's oldest footballing competition.

Cheboan national team

Cheboa is a roughly squared absolute monarchy located somewhere in Anaia. It it led by two monarchs, who each rule one half of the kingdom of Cheboa. Cheboa has a very small population, which is divided into the two aforementioned kingdoms. The kingdom that controls the first four rows is known as the white kingdom, while the kingdom controlling the last four is known as the black kingdom. Or the other way around, depending on how you look at it. After decades of waging war against each other, the two kingdoms have united to found the Kingdom of Cheboa.

Starting Eleven:

GK: Eisenmann, King of the White Kingdom
The two kings of the respective kingdoms are not exactly fast, but are still very agile, making them ideally suited to play in goal. Eisenmann got the nod for the starting job because the White Kingdom tends to be more reactionary, allowing their units a faster reaction time.

LB: Friedrich, Bishop of the White Kingdom
Both kingdoms know a clergy, and while they spend most of their time debating the opposite’s kingdoms religion, they are surprisingly similar in nature. Both the White and Black kingdom have a bishop focused on defending their respective kings.

CB: Gustav the g-Pawn
Gustav, officially part of the Black Kingdom, has always been a hard worker focused on protecting his monarch. Like any good pawn, he doesn’t care much for the kingdoms; he signs the song of the man that controls him.

RB: Frank, Bishop of the Black Kingdom
Frank is just like Friedrich, except he is part of the opposite religion (it’s actually all the same religion)

DM: Daniela, Queen of the Black Kingdom
Daniela, the queen to the black king, is able to be all over the pitch insanely fast and has to be accounted for at all times. She is loyal to her king, and has a lot of control over the kingdom; possibly even more than the king himself.

LM: Arnold the Rook
Standing tall and barely manoeuvrable stands Arnold at the edge of the White Kingdom. It’s going to be difficult to get past him.

RM: Helmut the Rook
Like Arnold, Helmut stands at the border of the white kingdom, shielding it from threats.

AM: Dmitry the d-pawn
A servant of the black kingdom, Dmitry is usually quick to the action, but he easily gets stalled. Like Gustav, the kingdoms are more of an afterthought for him.

LF: Bernd the Knight
Bernd is part of the black kingdom, and tends to be used in attacks quite often. His evasiveness and strong armor make him difficult to take down, although he is best suited to support attacks.

CF: Diana, Queen of the White Kingdom
Like Daniela, Diana is a loyal queen to her king, but while Daniela tends to play defensively, Diana is often more aggressive, and will attempt to win games on her own. Like Daniela, she enjoys enormous amounts of power, but she needs help to get things done.

RF: Caspar, Bishop of the Black Kingdom
Different to Frank and Friedrich, who are the defensively-minded pieces close to the king, Caspar is closer to his queen, and can be a viable asset in attacks.

Subs: the rest of the pieces

RP perms and style mod: 0 (restrictions, that is)

Though Yesopalitha enters first, it is Chromatika's puppet. Also, absolutely fine to cut this as a numbers puppet.

THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA AND ESTORPIVA
NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva is a federal union between two states, the Federation of Estorvipa and the Republic of Estorpiva, created on 22 November 2019 after the two states agreed to unite together and present a combined front against the other rebel sides in the Estorian Civil War. The Federal Republic is backed by the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia (or just Pridnestrovia for short), which was an ally of the old Estorvipan People's Republic before it collapsed into numerous competing factions and states, and Pridnestrovia decided that the Federal Republic was the most stable nation-state that they could support in this war. But despite being backed by a "socialist" nation and adopting some socialist imagery, the Federal Republic is a democratic republic with free and fair elections for the 27 million people under its governance, and its ultimate aim is to reunite the Vipan and Pivan lands peacefully, but if the Federal Republic must use force to restore peace and order in the land then it will certainly do so.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva
Demonym: Estorian
Team colors: Yellow. blue, and red
Style modifier: -2.00
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Branislav Vinogradovsky (58 y/o, male, Pridnestrovia)

STARTERS
GK: Fiodor ENIN 36 y/o, male, Dinamo Macaresti (Pridnestrovia)
By all accounts, he is a brilliant keeper who has everything going for him. He can stop shots from almost anywhere on the pitch, and he can also come out of his area and sweep opposing forwards off their feet if needed. The only reason why he's on the bench is because Traian Pantilimon has been selected to be the first Estorian goalkeeper in the Federal Republic's history, but Enin is expected to take his place starting from the second game in the Baptism of Fire.

RB: Florian KESSLER 29 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He was not originally a citizen of Estorvipa, although his mother was a Vipan who moved to the Ixanian Socialist State in Pridnestrovia and married a local man. This thus qualified him to acquire Estorian citizenship when the time came, and he moved from Wormatia Wewelsburg to Exiles FK in preparation for representing the Federal Republic in international football. He is a solid defender with solid pace and not much else, but that's good enough for the Federal Republic while it works on developing the stars of the future.

RCB: Demyan BIRKOV 30 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)

LCB: Markus KRASNENKO 27 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He is a Vipan refugee who used to live in St. Paulsburg and played for a semi-professional football side in the city before the Estorian Civil War. He was originally conscripted into the Estorvipan People's Army, but his regiment defected to Field Marshal Petar Antonic's Estorvipan Liberation Army near the beginning of the civil war. He surrendered to the Pridnestrovian Army after teh end of the Battle of St. Paulsburg and took advantage of the offer of asylum extended by the Pridnestrovians in the aftermath of the Treaty of Kotelnirovo. He was soon signed by Exiles FK where he made a name of himself as a good defender, but his pace and technique are definitely lacking compared to other defenders in the Pridnestrovian league system.

LB: Holden KRASTENKOVIC 24 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Another Vipan refugee who fled to Pridnestrovia after the first withdrawal of Pridnestrovian troops from Estorian lands due to the Treaty of Kotelnirovo. He was originally from the northern city of Tarkovska, now the de facto capital of the Estorvipan Commune, and had made the arduous journey to the Pridnestrovian-occupied south on foot, evading Communard and Imperial military patrols in order to secure a ride to Pridnestrovia alongside other refugees and pro-leftist Vipans and Pivans seeking to flee the Estorian nation before the Communards enacted their anti-leftist purges. Despite having never picked up a football before in his life, he was recruited to Exiles FK, where he has surprisingly developed into an average defender with brilliant pace and average passing skills.

RM: Stanislav VINOGRADOVSKY 36 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He is the son of the manager of the Estorian national football team, but Branislav Vinogradovsky was unaware that he had sired a child during his time in Estorvipa until Stanislav arrived in Pridnestrovia along with thousands of other Estorian refugees fleeing their country once it had come under the fold of the Imperium and their puppet factions. Because of this, Stanislav holds a grudge against his father, a grudge that he uses to motivate him into going all-in with his tackles against the opposition.

LM: Serafina POTRITSKIJ 26 y/o, female, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Her main function in the midfield is to distribute the ball and take the occasional pot shot at goal if given the chance. She can run back and help in the defense if needed, but her primary function is to spread the ball around the pitch for the attacking Estorian players to latch onto and put the goal under threat. If the ball happens to end up right back on her feet during that sequence then she has license to fire a shot on target or pass to another teammate to start the cycle anew.

RW: ROBERTO Kunaplenko 24 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Twin brother of Roberta Kunaplenko. He is the son of the former Estorvipan ambassador to the Sultanate of Oontaz, Venyamin Kunaplenko, who fell in love with a local woman whom he would eventually marry. The Kunaplenkos had been living quietly in Rybolovlev when the Pridnestrovian intervention in the Estorian Civil War happened, and the family soon fell under suspicion because of good relations between the Sultanate of Oontaz and Pridnestrovia. The Kunaplenko family fled to Pridnestrovia alongside the first withdrawal of Pridnestrovian troops, and the twins were recruited to play for Exiles FK alongside other Vipan and Pivan refugees. He is a fast winger with incredible pace and outstanding technique but has a marked inability to cross the ball into the box. This is in contrast to his twin sister who is a faster winger and better crosser but can't escape out of a sticky situation.

CAM: Arseniy DAVYDOV 30 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Most of his experience in football was playing for the works team of the old Estorvipan People's Army, but that had to take a back seat to soldiering when the Estorian Civil War broke out and he had to fight against the numeropus rebel factions that had sprung up in Estorvipa after being emboldened by the success of the Estorvipan Commune in separating from the south. Like many soldiers who surrendered to the Pridnestrovians during the war, he took advantage of their offer of asylum after the signing of the Treaty of Kotelnirovo because he knew that the Communards would go after soldiers of the Estorvipan People's Army because they had fought for a "socialist leader" before Vissarion Zhivkov switched allegiances to the Imperium and their Inselberg pact. While officially his position is central attacking midfielder, his seeming inability to string together two successful passes has turned him more into a false nine or a second striker operating behind Fabian Prasutagusic.

LW: ROBERTA Kunaplenko 24 y/o, female, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Twin sister of Roberto Kunaplenko. She is the daughter of the former Estorvipan ambassador to the Sultanate of Oontaz, Venyamin Kunaplenko, who fell in love with a local woman whom he would eventually marry. She is a very fast winger with outstanding pace and average playmaking ability but can't escape out of a sticky situation. This is in contrast to her twin brother who has incredible pace and outstanding technique but also a marked inability to cross the ball into the box.

ST: Fabian PRASUTAGUSIC 28 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He is pretty much the star player for this Estorian team. He personally refused to recognize any of the other warring factions in the Estorian Civil War as legitimate, and he was of the opinion that the northern Estorvipan Commune was nothing but a bunch of blood traitors willing to sell out themselves and their own country in exchange for favors from the Imperium. He was a product of CSKA Tiraspol's academy, and while he was nothing special in the Army Club, he had turned into a superstar striker once he moved to Exiles FK, and he looks to replicate this performance for the Estorian national team.

RESERVES
GK: Sashka VIDANOVA 30 y/o, female, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She's just setting the Federal Top League alight with the number of crazy save highlights she produces game by game. She's pretty much a younger female version of Fiodor Enin with the way she stops shots and rushes at opposing forwards, and she is expected to alternate games with Enin after Traian Pantilimon has played his one and only game for the Federal Republic.

GK: Yaroslav SHCHETININ 23 y/o, male, FK Mamai Ihorovtsi (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
The future of the Estorian goalkeeping position looks very bright with him in between the sticks. He's already doing the job for Mamai Ihorovtsi, and local managers are praising him for his divine goalkeeping skills. His only weakness is that his passing is a bit poor, and opponents might be able to take advantage of that once he plays for the national team.

DF: Nona SERGEYEVA 29 y/o, female, Dinamo Bender Women (Pridnestrovia)
Not only is she a good defender but she is also a good aerial threat. She can defend against taller opponents and she can also score headers if needed. Her only downsides are that she's somewhat slow and that she gets tired easily, hence why she's been kept on the bench instead of being a regular starter for the national team.

DF: Dencho TIMNEV 24 y/o, male, Ufa Verkhovyansk (Pridnestrovia)
He's an excellent defender by any means, capable of either helping play the ball out of the back or keeping up with those fast and tricky forwards trying to bear down on the Estorian goal. His only downside is that he is nowhere near as good in the air as he is on the ground which, for someone as tall as he is (at 177 cm) is a bit of a liability on the pitch.

DF: Dzyamid USHKEVICH 24 y/o, male, Metallurgist Beledor (Pridnestrovia)
Under most circumstances, he wouldn't be able to make the national teams of most other nations, but given that the Federal Republic is in need of players to represent it on the international stage, Ushkevich has been given the chance to prove himself worthy of representing this new state to the rest of the world. He can defend, he can head the ball, and he can dribble his way out of a few sticky situations, but he's still a bit too raw to start a game in most cases.

DF: Nicu Marian RĂILEANU 24 y/o, male, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
All the necessary elements for a solid and outstanding wingback are all there; all he really needs to do now is to gain experience in both club and international football and he's going to be playing under the colors of the Federal Republic of years to come. But until then, he will have to make do with some appearances from the bench.

MF: Ignjatije ATANACKOVIĆ 22 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He may be young but he's already got the makings of a very good central midfielder within him. He can make things happen from almost anywhere on the pitch, and he has the speed to both attack the goal and defend his own side if needed. If only he didn't get gassed so easily then maybe he could make a case for being included in the starting eleven more times than not.

MF: Rada Mladenova KOSTOVA 26 y/o, female, CSK Armiya Supskij (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is a very good playmaker who can make things happen from the middle of the pitch. Her good passing and solid pace also means that she can put in a defensive shift if needed, but she is really more suited to orchestrating attacks on the opponent. However, the less said about her ability to put the ball into the back of the net, the better.

MF: Rahmatullo RODIN 25 y/o, male, Masyafspor (Pridnestrovia)
He is everything that Arseniy Davydov is: a brilliant playmaker with a keen eye for both his teammates and the goal who can also put in defensive shifts if needed. The only reason why Davydov is starting over Rodin is because Davydov is a more polished and complete player than Rodin right now, but now we know what Rodin could look like once he becomes the finished product.

FW: Viktoriya ZALUZHENKO 21 y/o, female, FC Foc Feuerstadt (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
At a young age, she's already making a name for herself in the small and nascent Federal Top League of the Federal Republic. She has the accuracy and the fancy footwork to set her up for a good future in football, but apart from those skills, she still needs to develop a lot more before she can start thinking about pursuing a starting spot.

FW: Marek LEMISH 24 y/o, male, FC Dinamo Durdenville (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He's a very good striker; there's no denying that. But the problem is that Fabian Prasutagusic is even better than him, and there are also some things that Lemish will need to work on if he wishes to become a success in this Estorian team; things such as his stamina and passing. Other than that, he's actually a remarkably good player.

FW: Lazar ANKOV 25 y/o, male, FK Pridnestrovskaya Gavan (Pridnestrovia)
Another very good striker in the ranks. This time, the problem with him is that he is very much a defensive liability, meaning that it's best not to have him trying to defend much because he's just poor at it. That, coupled with surprisingly weak passing on his part means that it is easier to nab the ball from him than from other players, thus why he remains on the bench.

The flagship stadium, huge production values, the works.

Schemerdrecht, Intermare - Orange Bowl (54000) - home to Schemerdrecht SVV (and the Schemerdrecht Admirals).
More associated perhaps with the Admirals than the SVV, but it's nearly always sold out venue for great crowds in any sport.

Maethoru, KCT - Rikalathen Arena (39000) - home to Maethoru SC (and Mayara Wanderers-Vulpecula).
Close to the KFA's training grounds, at least it has that going for it. Crowds aren't great here.

Étouille, Cote Austral - Stade Amandine (30000) - home to Tanques AOE (and the Etouille Vultures).
Some amazing drone shots over a stadium, a city, and a crowd that knows what makes life fun.

Santa Teresa, Finisterre - Estádio Fortaleza (29000) - home to Miradela GD (and the Santa Teresa Sabres).
Made to be exactly 1000 seats larger than their rivals' stadium, the Fortaleza is the upper-class stadium.
OR
Santa Teresa, Finisterre - Estádio Marítimo (28000) - home to Branvon CD.
The working class stadium that is, in all facets, a bit inferior to the Fortaleza. Except the crowds. There's no better stadium for wild crowds.

Maynard, Leeshire - Armskirk Municipal Ground (26000) - home to Maynard AFC.
The unlucky Maynard team have asked the KFA to have their stadium used by the national team - as the only southwestern stadium.

Katashi, Katashi - Suzumebachi Stadium (25000) - home to Katashi-Kanatsu.
The biggest stadium in the east, Katashi deserves a game. The fans will mostly just cheer for the Yoshiman players, though.

Greencaster, Surbourneshire - Golhampton Grounds (25000) - home to lower league Langward.
Greencaster is our largest city and... that's their only claim to a Dragonflies home game.

Aevanna, Aerellen - Northern Arena (32000) - home to university team 'Aevanna Ecologiske Universitet'.
The KFA wants some games geographically spread across the country, and so the cold, dark, and cold gridiron Northern Arena is on the list.

1 GK Norauspu Thurzerthinden (KOR, 25) - WSR AFC
10 GK Carl Malmstroom (KOR, 25) - Tanques AOE
20 GK Antón Miramontes (KOR, 22) - Branvon CD

In the CAFA, we give valuable minutes to players that otherwise would be out of the World Cup (Qualifier) squads for being too young, inexperienced, etc. There will be some U-23 players, but most of all we're looking for players that are just on the cusp of getting in. While Miramontes is already part of the squad every now and again, we're hoping for Thurzerthinden to make the jump soon as part of a young and exciting WSR AFC team. Malmstroom has played for the NT in the past but has been surpassed by younger, shinier GKs.

Image
2 RF Kaneyoshi Kaji (KOR, 17) - Katashi-Kanatsu
12 RF Hubert Breguet (KOR, 21) - Tanques AOE
3 RB Adam Archer (KOR, 24) - Straudum VV
13 RB Isac Magnussen (KOR, 23) - Advance Alara
4 CB Niniaw yLleamaid (KOR, 20) - WSR AFC
14 CB Ulristhen Derjekhistun (KOR, 25) - Soldarian FC, VAL
5 LB Obadiah Gillinghurst (KOR, 18) - Schemerdrecht SVV
15 LB Nicholaus Abyssite (KOR, 21) - Gehrenna FC
6 LF Min-Ji (f) Pae (KOR, 20) - WSR AFC
16 LF Rufus Datchery (KOR, 23) - Cirelbourne United

In the CAFA, we give valuable minutes to players that otherwise would be out of the World Cup (Qualifier) squads for being too young, inexperienced, etc. There will be some U-23 players, but most of all we're looking for players that are just on the cusp of getting in. Kaji is by far the biggest defensive talent to come through in years, and it's ironic that he learned his skills in Katashi (instead of Straudum, Schemerdrecht, Arboren, etc). Archer is the brother of striker Archer - who has had more NT success. yLleamaid is Schrodinger's defender: he's both terrible and great, and hang on, even if you watch his every move, you still don't know if he's good or not. He's got talent, but does he show it every week? Derjekhistun has been allowed into Valanora after the Anaian ban - but is that the only reason to select him? Gillinghurst and Abyssite are two very fun talents, with Gillinghurst just 18 but playing like 28, and Abyssite is a different build from the rest: almost feline in movement, sneakily dispossessing opponents, but also able to muscle people away from the ball. Pae is one of the new generation of players, tenacious, and she is the front runner in a sort of full back shortage we're expecting in due time. Datchery plays at the second level with Cirelbourne, but should make it to the Top League soon enough.

7 DM Orinosuke Uozumi (KOR, 20) - Katashi-Kanatsu
17 DM Mat Courvoisier (KOR, 24) - Branvon CD
8 RM Naohiro Enokida (KOR, 24) - Advance Alara
18 RM Byron Radcliff (KOR, 25) - WSR AFC
1X CM Purelbusak Entatingun (KOR, 20) - Maethoru SC
21 CM Stian Haukland (KOR, 23) - Burnaby SC, KSK
22 CM Évra Bernier (KOR, 25) - Tanques AOE
9 LM Sadahige Masuda (KOR, 19) - Advance Alara
19 LM Elco Lamshuis (KOR, 24) - Schemerdrecht SVV
X AM Emmit Borthwell (KOR, 25) - Advance Alara

In the CAFA, we give valuable minutes to players that otherwise would be out of the World Cup (Qualifier) squads for being too young, inexperienced, etc. There will be some U-23 players, but most of all we're looking for players that are just on the cusp of getting in. Years of DM drought after Yokota's retirement, but we have a host of options now! The future is bright with Uozomi and Courvoisier - but especially Uozomi, who is from the same place as Yokota and plays the same kind of football. Entatingun is tremendously talented and makes everything look easy - or maybe that's his character flaw (laziness). Bernier and Haukland are far more hardworking, with Bernier as a box-to-box option and Haukland in a bit more of a director role. We have a wealth of opportunities on the wings, with Advance Alara and WSR AFC showing their superior talent evaluation. Enokida is the new Janoreirinthen, Masuda has some developing to do but the future midfield might well be 75% Yoshiman (bad news for any independence fans). The three players listed as CM can play basically any role, but will probably be subbed on for Borthwell quite a bit. The SS's could also be subbed in at that position (or as RM/LM in an attacking role).

Image
26 SS Hurorinul Bonstirthinden (KOR, 24) - Miradela GD
27 SS Wijbrand Deckere (KOR, 17) - Schemerdrecht SVV
= ST Rex Archer (KOR, 24) - Aminey CS
1= ST Domingos Carreiro (KOR, 21) - Branvon CD
23 ST Hannibal Sawyer (KOR, 23) - Straudum VV
24 ST Aurin Aomelirea (KOR, 24) - Revolutionaries, EUR
25 ST Wolf Sadelaer (KOR, 22) - Schemerdrecht SVV

In the CAFA, we give valuable minutes to players that otherwise would be out of the World Cup (Qualifier) squads for being too young, inexperienced, etc. There will be some U-23 players, but most of all we're looking for players that are just on the cusp of getting in. We only play one striker but we've listed more than that. Archer is the brother of Adam (RB) and plays a technical game at Aminey. Carreiro is a hardworking striker at Branvon. Sawyer is the efficient one who knows about defensive transition and positioning. Aomelirea has the most experience at the highest level. Sadelaer was the breakout star of the most recent Top League season. Bonstirthinden, like yLleamaid, is good or horrible depending on who you ask. Deckere is too young to judge, but it's looking great. We've also got so many listed in case we need a 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 or 6-1-2 or whatever the hell we need to do to get a damn result here.

Image
We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more.

This team is all about containing their opponent, letting them make mistakes, and capitalising on those. Let the other guys get impatient, lose the ball, and immediately go for the counter attack. Yes, it's frustrating to play against, but you have to admit that there's a certain beauty to doing this near-flawlessly every single time. The Dragonflies aren't a very physical team, but can match almost every opponent in stamina (not so much power or speed, though. Typically only the wingers are pacy). Instead, they rely on tactics and patience. The team is also good enough to be in possession a lot and dictate the tempo, though they're not always creative enough to break down the opposing defence - for that, the Dragonflies have learned to be very, very good on counterattacks, set pieces, and a few patterns in open play. Given the experience most of these players have, it's hard to come up with something new they've never seen - and then do that well enough to reliably score. In order to beat us, you'll need to bring two (or more) of the following: power, speed, caution.

Basically, this team comes prepared, is patient, and keeps a cool head.

Image
Numbers 1 to = typically start (but not always, feel free to choose your starters). That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, and =.
Numbers 1-1= are typically selected as starters or subs (but not always, feel free to select some 23+-ers as subs or starters).
Numbers 20 and over are mostly there as emergency replacements, but can be part of the squad for some games. These are almost always younger players with a lot of promise.

Image
The standard for this team. Five defenders, a defensive midfielder-slash-pivot, two wingers, an attacking midfielder-annex-second striker, and a pure finisher up front. In possession, one of the defenders can push up: this might be one of the fullbacks to provide width, but can also be one of the centrebacks, in which case the defensive midfielder makes way. The wingers will be wider or narrower based on the opposition, and the same determines how far the fullbacks will advance. In defence, the team becomes narrower, with the defensive midfielder playing spoiler to whoever is trying to find space between the Ko-orenite lines, and the wingers falling back to meet opposing fullbacks. The striker and attacking midfielder will almost always look for space to launch a counterattack.
Image
The alternate lineup, which still adheres to a basic 5-4-1. You could call it a 5-5-0, seeing as the striker is sitting back much further. This lineup works the exact same for the defenders, with or without possession. The defensive and central midfielder are pivots, the wingers have far more freedom to find space, and the striker drops back to receive the ball and allow other players to overlap, enabling them to score a goal rather than the striker themselves. In defence, the midfielders can organically shrink and expand their 'pentagram-five' formation much more fluidly.

Ko-orenite Host Bid for CAFA the Third the Fourth

Format: Casaran. Of course. What else? I will use the Casaran tool that NWK sent me, and is publically available in my repl.it account. This ensures that the bid can work with any even number of entrants. I'm looking at 5 or 6 matchdays, with the top 8 going to the quarterfinals. The next best 8 will go to a consolation plate knockout tournament.
Tiebreakers: Points-Wins-H2H-H2H Goal Difference-Goal Difference. 8v1, 7v2, 6v3, 5v4, fixed bracket (no re-seeding).
There will be 3PPOs for both brackets (the top 8 bracket and the consolation bracket).

Scorinator: Xkoranate, SQIS, no home advantage. Additive style mods. Rank to be used in group stage only.

RP Bonus: Each day's RP Bonus will be 1/5th or 1/6th (depending on number of MDs) of the max rank (which is the highest participating rank + 10%) at the start of the tournament. Max Roster + Pre-MD 1 RP Bonus will total to around 50% of max rank, where the roster part well outweighs the RP part. Rank will not be used in the knockouts, as previously said. RPs between 300 and 400 words will get a little extra. Save your novellas for the World Cup.

RP Prompts: Sure.

IC: All games to be held in Ko-oren.

Cutoff times: I'll ensure at least 48 hours between cutoffs, with cutoffs mostly happening around 22:00 CET. It's inevitable that some cutoffs will be pushed back to lunch the next day - hence 'at least 48 hours'. It could be 60. It could be as much as 72 - but not more than that.

Hosting experience: Some (by this point we'll be halfway or mostly done with the ODI cricket as well, adding to said experience)

Logo: Unlikely

Hotel: Trivago I know, I even copied and pasted the same joke as last time

HISTORY

Chromatika first entered the World Cup in Cycle 73, going a modest 3-2-7. They made the Cup of Harmony in Cycle 74, and qualified for the first time in Cycle 75, losing in the Round of Sixteen. Chromatika would have their most successful campaign in World Cup 76, making it to the 3rd place Playoff before finishing in fourth place, despite the domestic upheaval in the country. Their first Manager, Franscesca Larriet-Cortes, was martyred at the end of World Cup 75; the political stresses of the job made it so that Lisa Amos, the team's Manager after Franscesca, resigned after World Cup 76.

The team would enjoy continued success from World Cup 77 through World Cup 81, as Silian Parker helped the squad qualify for the World Cup every time, and the team even made it to the Round of Sixteen or beyond three of those times. Even when Chromatika didn't enter World Cup 82, their return to the World Cup in 83 was a success, though both World Cup 83 and 84 saw the Anomalies stymied at the Proper Group Stage - 84 being under new management in Nepharan Konrad Evans.

World Cup 85 was a disaster - the team didn't qualify and didn't even make a deep run in the Cup of Harmony, leading to the sacking of Evans and the appointment of Richard Valens of Krytenia and Tim Landers of Delaclava. The team would qualify in World Cup 86, and 87, host the World Cup in 88, and return to the Proper in 89. However, Chromatika was not making the deep runs that the nation wanted/needed, so they said goodbye to Valens and Landers and looked inward.

Sandra Sybill and Rachel Hellion, key figures during Chromatika's runs in the early days, stepped in. A loss to Nyowani Kitara meant that they were eliminated, but the team turned around and won the 82nd Cup of Harmony.

Then, in one of the most heartbreaking sequence of events ever, Chromatika lost to Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom at home after penalty kicks, making it the first time that Chromatika has failed to qualify twice in a row since the inaugural cycles of World Cup 73 and World Cup 74.

MANAGEMENT STAFF

IMG ImageLisa Amos | Age: 62 | Height: 5 ft 11 in | Debut Cycle: 75
At the beginning of the heydays of Chromatik football, Lisa Amos stepped in after Franscesca Larriet-Cortes's arrest and helped the Chromatiks to the fourth placed finish, and then departed after another cycle, stating that she was not a fan of how heavily politicized the Chromatik national team was for the nation. She ended up in the Nepharim Premiership, where she was Starling's Manager for the longest time. After a more brief stint at AFC Corvistone, she found herself without a job. Now, she steps in as the interim manager during the CoH (and maybe the CAFA), having received a guarantee from the CFF that she will not be a candidate for the actual job. A steadfast, personal motivator, Amos has a chance to leave a huge impact on a squad that has been left reeling.

PHY ImageZoe "Z" Benne | Age 42 | Debut Cycle: 80
Once a heartthrob, Zoe Benne is married to former Chromatik superstar and now White Mountain club manager Erika Morningstar. Zoe has been a constant for eleven cycles now, and has had to treat everything from sprained ankles to serious injuries after the bus sabotage last cycle. She remains a great asset.

SMC ImageShelby Arling | Age: 27 | Debut Cycle: 87
With new management in place, the presence of Arling as the Social Media Coordinator will be very important. All questions go through her, and she takes away any and all distractions.

Summary: This is a squad of entirely longshots - none of them are expected to make the next roster, even with the Managerial changes. The CFF decided to give these players one thorough look - and if any of them truly stand out, they might make it to the extended pool. Interestingly enough, Urrhed FC and Pria City lead with the most number of players on this roster, and not one of them plays for a foreign team. Not much is expected from this CAFA squad, but if they do well, it would provide some hope to the country.

Football Federation of Huayramarca

Official Roster for the 4th CAFA

About Huayramarca: The Plurinational State of Huayramarca, also known as ”Huayramarca Mamallaqta” in Quechua and ”Huayramarca Suyu” in Aymara (literally: Windy Country), is an extraordinarily diverse nation in terms of geography that’s located in Anaia. Crossing three time zones, from the islands, reaching the coast, hiking the mountains and then sliding into the jungle, passing massive cordilleras, a nation with 36 million inhabitants that is composed by 9 ethnical groups.

Huayramarca as is a relatively new nation for the traditional standards of it, it was constituted on 1822 (currently, we sit on 1984 according to the Inca Calendar), the main focus of building this nation was to help different ethnic groups to gather force into the region, in order to be recognized multiversally as a nation, hence, may gather some international protection in case their rights would be abused all of a sudden by an external force.

Being completely ignorant on what was happening on the neighbourhood, the Aymara, Quechua, Shuar, Guarani, Montubio, Tsáchila, Huaorani, Andoa and Candoshi ethnics decided to form the Republic with the support of neighbouring nations such as the Royal Kingdom of Québec.

Until the middle XX century, Huayramarca managed to survive economically from llama, alpaca and vicuña herding, since its skins are highly valuable in neighbouring Québec due to their strong winters; also, coffee production helped Huayramarca to build some solid institutions that promoted national expansion near the neighbouring Cocoabo Forest, that place is “La Selva”, a lush but quite dangerous forest with hundreds of rivers that come from the Andes. After some years of exploration, the authorities met the first indigenous peoples of the zone, which were exploited in order to produce rubber for tires and some mysterious chickens that were produced to do even more mysterious sacrifices to a deity, which the local people and even the rest of Huayramarca wasn’t able to understand how she works, granted, it’s not even a part of the Incan Mythology which includes Inti(the Sun god) and others.

Said abuses committed against the jungle inhabitants caused a heavy political turmoil around 1950, which formed a divide in the nation that still remains until today: Serranos (highlanders), Costeños (coastals) against selváticos (jungle inhabitants); Those divides weren’t noticeable in economic terms but politically, with constant attempts of coup ‘d etat against the government.

Aymara and Quechua peoples took the power during the remaining part of the 50’s until 1969. On that period, Huayramarca suffered the effects of a severe number of “huaycos” (mudslides) caused by heavy rain storms across the entire Huayramarcan Sierra, those events killed at least 300,000 people and urged for an attempt to reincorporate Huayramarca back into normality, but, how? The main bet of the government was to aim for the tourism industry, spamming the developed nations of Anaia in order to make some tourists visit sacred places such as Illimani (a mountain that’s devoted as god for the Aymara folk), Huayna Picchu (the royal Incan palace for Quechua) and the sun-drenched coast ranging from Guayaquil to Lima (specially Montañita, the best beach par excellence in northern Anaia).

The formula was working decently, since the economy was reporting high growth numbers, but seemed to cause some lack of satisfaction on certain zones of the country, especially on the Jungle. Their inhabitants decided to support the Costeño elite in order to beat the Serrano government. 1969 election would be marked for the Huayramarcan history by the magnitude of the sabotage made against the current government, to the point of bribery or killings for their supporters.

Currently, Huayramarca has a huge wealth gap between zones, the coast boasts the fact of being the economic engine of the nation despite the fact that the capital city is in the Sierra, while the Jungle is slowly developing with some cities such as Sechura, Florencia, Virú and several others boosted by oil findings and rubber production. Sierra may be in disadvantage, but recent developments in neighbouring nations may make them turn relevant once again in the nation, since lithium batteries demand is growing up and Huayramarca’s Sierra possesses one of the biggest reserves of said mineral of the entire multiverse.

Basically, Huayramarca is a nation of contrasts and never—ending conflicts that’s well into the deep borehole named “the natural resource course” a hard situation to overcome due to the lack of proper education, critical thinking and result-focused mindset on the population, that constantly seeks for shelter in entertainment industries such as soap operas, music, and now football. From power struggles between Costeño elites and Serrano social movements such as Ñucanchi Ñan, who uprose against Hugo Mina, a Costeño president, in order to defend the Aymara holy land of Mount Illimani from mining exploitation to the current political order, where Ñucanchi Ñan rules comfortably.

The focus of the mainstream agenda is over sustainable economic growth, taking care of the environment and inclusion of minorities, something that is being well received by many people in the nation. This environment has led to an increase in nationalism, since the national unity is being fostered as a State Policy; sports, especially football is being the main vehicle to promote that sense. As for now, the Huayramarcan Football Federation budget has been increased 20x in order to aim for success in short-term.

The latter said efforts have been rewarded as of late, as Huayramarca achieved her maiden qualification in World Cup 90; this has meant that the Government will continue to support the development of football across Huayramarca in different ways. One of those ways is building a High-Performance Training Centre in the outskirts of the Metropolitan District, in El Alto, a project that includes which is now dubbed, by many, as the highest elevated football stadium built ever, the Estadio de la Universidad Nacional del Altiplano at 4,525 meters above sea level.

Huayramarcan Football History: As a society, Huayramarcans enjoy sports a lot, especially when politics may turn the nation into a chaos every second, they just want to run away from that horrible and desperate situation and may try luck on football.

Considering the levels of poverty on Huayramarca, many young people may give a shot for football in the chaotic Liga 1 or lower tiers, with the hopes of achieving a decent salary that may help their families to get away from poverty and huayco-prone neighbourhoods. Liga 1 has fourteen teams from different parts of the country, mostly focused on the Sierra and Costa regions since those are the most heavily populated ones. The recent decisions taken in the Government and the Huayramarcan Football Federation, where they ended a ban on transferring players to foreign teams, has filled with optimism and illusion a lot of youngsters, that now aim to be another Huayramarcan playing abroad.

Immediately after the HFF creation, the president of the Plurinational State, Hugo Mina (Costeño), thought it would be a great idea to form a fringe squad for the AOCAF and then try to make it into Baptism of Fire or World Cup Qualifiers, hence he asked for Eliezer González (head of the Huayramarcan Football Federation) to try and apply for said tournaments. He sent notes in order to sign-up for those events, but he sent them incorrectly, at AOCAF, he sent it to a grandmother living up near the Andean Organization for Coffee, Agriculture and Forests (located at Cumbayá) instead of sending it to the proper AOCAF tournament organizing committee, which turned González into laughing stock for several weeks in Huayramarca. Despite that, González managed to sign-up properly for the WC, despite he was rejected for BoF because he applied to the “Burger of Fire” and not the Baptism of Fire.

After all, the HFF managed to convince 25 players from the amateur-ish Liga 1 sides to build the National Team, whose nickname is resumed to “Kuntur” (The Condors), all those players ranged from being high school students, to chemists, bus drivers, and even people from the local tavern, whose preference is revealed on how they named their team “Real Ebriedad”, which was later supported by Cristalina, the main brewery firm from Huayramarca. Those 25 players decided to investigate some football techniques and decided to apply them at the different games they played on the inaugural Liga 1.

Nothing that would be possible without the support of Omar Caicedo, a Costeño who migrated to Québec and decided to learn some football techniques while managing Beyreuth University, where he won three national titles out of eight seasons on his span with them. Caicedo is a fan of high-pressure football, known as “gegenpressing” or “El Huayco” as Huayramarcans may call if (specially Serranos, since they might be quite shy or sometimes plain dumb that doesn’t like to attack) Anyways, Caicedo’s strategy proved right on some matches played by Huayramarca against their northern neighbour, the Royal Kingdom of Québec, beating them 5-1 at Huayramarca’s Estadio Nacional (located at 4,012 masl only?!…) and tying 2-2 at Iqaluit’s Ice Hockey Rink (that’s what the players thought at playing in a frozen city… ¡Achachay!) If you wonder what’s ¡Achachay! Well, figure out you’re on top of the mountain receiving wind and gelid weather right into you, if you did it, welcome to Huayramarcan’s sense of cold shivering!

Well, coming back to football, Caicedo’s devotion for 4-2-3-1 has been unquestionable, he always loves to boast of having a neat defence, two defending mid fielders that may aim to recover possession when needed, or even having one of them switching to creative duties in support of the team’s brain, Ian Mamani, then, two wingers feeding the sole striker up in the middle of the box. That striker may often go back and try to recover balls and make a power play from himself with support of a winger and then seek for a goal. He did demonstrate a lot during the first part of the World Cup Qualifiers, earning some mixed results during it, but it failed for a part of the second half, where the team accumulated an 11 winless game streak added that they weren't capable to snatch a win during their first eight local games. In fact, their first home win came at the 9th home game, after that, they won three out of their four last home games, earning a 8 games unbeaten streak to finish off the Qualifiers, which was a quite impressive recovery after having their morale smashed on the floor and some players even considered suicide, since they were considered to be a mediocre living fail walking through their home cities streets.

Said streak wasn’t a mere happening, it was somehow a confirmation on how the Huayramarcan National Team had turned into a squad that forged a reputation as a hardworking team. The Cup of Harmony 77 was an interesting test for the team, to see if they are capable to handle out the nerves of what it implies to be struggling for a knockout spot until the last second of the last match, which is what happened to the Condors, since they tied their first three games, they had a chance to get into the last rounds but they had to face Port Ember. Huayramarca succumbed to the nerves and wasted a 2-0 lead to see how Port Ember scored five goals in quick succession.

A spectacular beginning on World Cup 86 Qualifiers helped the Condors to finish 4th in the first half of qualifiers, being two points below the second placed squad, but defeats against top dogs such as Ko-oren and Tequilo killed the desires of this national team to qualify, also, instigated by poor performances against low and other mid-ranked nations boosted that debacle. The Cup of Harmony wasn't different to the end of the World Cup Qualifiers, it was in the same shape, defeats, defeats and pressure on the squad due to the fact that they were worried on what was happening on Huayramarca, due to the death of Hugo Mina.

With the latest investments made by the Huayramarcan Government to the Huayramarcan Football Federation, by multiplying tenfold their budget, the HFF has now sent the managerial staff of the Condors to other nations, in order to gather new ideas and apply those in order to build a competent side in tactical terms, with the main purpose to achieve World Cup qualification for the first time as soon as possible and provide that joy to the Huayramarcan folk. That heavy investment provided some benefits during the 87th World Cup Qualifiers, where Huayramarca left behind the label of being an "uncomfortable rival" to take a protagonist role in their group, finishing second behind Audioslavia with a solid 40 points in 18 matches. Things in playoffs might be forgettable as Huayramarca drew at home (1-1) and was thrashed (1-4) in Tikariot.

Despite the downturn in the team's mindset, the team faced some struggles at the Cup of Harmony group stage. Being defeated by Mriin at the first game, defeating Garifunya 1-0 and then tying against Ibixa for the second time in the cycle sent the Condors to the Knockout phase of CoH for their first time ever, Xanneria was a hard rival for the Round of 32, Huayramarca's miracle run was about to start with a narrow 2-1 win over them; then two rock-solid performances against Saint Domingue and a well-known foe from the WCQ Group (Sargossa) with a 3-1 and 2-0 respectively, put Huayramarca among the best four sides in the Cup of Harmony. Being defeated by Mriin with a hard-fought 2-3 and then once again a 1-4 against Newmanistan were enough to confirm Huayramarca as the 4th placed side.

World Cup 88th would prove to be an interesting situation for the team and fans overall, Huayramarca would have a rather forgettable first half of the qualifiers, with a 6-game winless streak that became a ballast enough to keep the team away from the Top-3 during the entire Qualifier. The team tried to revert the situation with strong performances that, pitifully, weren’t enough to qualify the team for the World Cup. A strong CoH and a decent CAFA helped to compensate.

Life may repeat some of their lessons if people doesn’t manage to learn from them, the Huayramarcan National Team enjoyed their best start ever in a World Cup Qualifier, nine goals for and one against in the four first matches, the team was displaying a defensive strength unknown for many fans, they continued the path by defeating Squornshelan Remnant States and Nephara in important matches. “It was too good for being real” said many fans, and Tumbra proved them right, as they grounded the Huayramarcans at the Estadio Nacional with a painful 0-3, so painful that marked a steady decline of the team for the second half, as the team got a succession of draws and defeats that sent them from the top of the table to the fifth place in a span of four matchdays.

Like the WC 88 Qualifier, the team tried to do a comeback but failed in the attempt. A poor CoH and a rather strong CAFA helped to decorate the performance plunge. Noteworthy is the fact that Omar Caicedo used an alternative XI for the remainder of the cycle and shifted to a more offensive version of “El huayco”, enough to achieve the largest win of the Huayramarcan National Team, a 5-0 victory that sparked some hopes with the modifications already made.

With Caicedo’s tenure in a limbo, he decided to take a game-changing decision after hiring Rodolfo Zelaya as an assistant coach; Zelaya’s a former footballer with some significant decorations such as Champions Cup with two teams and reaching the World Cup Final twice. Despite being defeated at home by Valanora in the opener, a string of four clean sheets in the next five games would be decisive to consolidate Huayramarca as a contender in her group, then a quick succession of decisive results against Krytenia at home (3-2) and Valanora on the road (2-2) paved the way to keep the team fighting for the first place until the last matchday. Despite defeating Krytenia 1-0 on the road, the Vanorians won their last match and that meant that Huayramarca went to the playoffs, despite possessing the seventh best record of the whole qualifiers.

Facing Omerica in the playoffs was a tough affair, as they managed to salvage a horrid game when visiting the rivals, a 1-2 that proved to be oxygen for the second leg of the playoffs at Puerto San Carlos. An early goal from the Legend itself, Bryan Tello, and a strong defensive performance from The Condors forced the penalty kicks. The Huayramarcans and Omericans were scoring perfectly fine until the fifth round, where Juan Mamani decided to be the hero and saved the kick, sending Huayramarca to its first World Cup Finals.

El Huayco was now stronger than ever, and the World Cup showcased it with statement results against Græntfjall (4-3 in debut) and the hosts, Vilita (1-0), despite being defeated by Pemecutan(3-4) and helped the team to reach the Round of 16. The hurdle in the knockouts proved to be the same as the Qualifiers, Valanora appeared for the third time in the cycle and demonstrated their experience with a sound 4-2 victory over The Condors, who did a great debut in the Multiversal Stage.

Said streak continued for the WC 91 Qualifier, one where despite having a bumpy start, Huayramarca managed to recompose things and propel themselves to the pack of nations fighting for automatic qualification, one featuring Sarzonia, Cassadaigua and Electrum. After being defeated by Electrum and Cassadaigua in a row, Huayramarca began an astonishing 15 game unbeaten run where they only conceded 15 goals and scored 48, including five straight clean sheets, even in critical matches where the Condors showed a magnificent performance. Revenge was sweet, defeating the Dagans at home, trouncing Electrum with a resounding 6-0 at Guayaquil (a NT record) and then a 2-0 win against Sarzonia propelled the Huayramarcan side to the top of their qualifier group. A draw against Magnecia complicated things as Sarzonia had a game in hand, Huayramarca had to keep the winning streak and they managed to do so, securing their automatic qualification against Ancherion in a dramatic fashion.

Back in the Group Stage of the World Cup, the Condors were trying to replicate the success achieved last year in the World Cup, not an easy task as they would face Farfadillis, Pasarga and Delaclava. Being defeated twice by narrow 3-2 scores, Huayramarca had to bid farewell to their hopes of replication, still, they had to avoid going with a zero on points, something they managed to do as they defeated Delaclava with a 4-3. Now, Huayramarca has plans to prepare for the next qualifier, CAFA 4 will be a good testing ground for the Condors in order to get some rhythm and try to fix some pieces.

Anyways, Huayramarcan football stills being distinguishable on how prone are they to do long range shots, due that they are used to play at significant heights, the lack of oxygen may make the ball travel further without applying a lot of strength during the mechanics of kicking the football, that is known as the “Andean Effect” and may cause serious troubles for visiting sides on Huayramarca, adding the main fact that breathing might be harder for those used to low altitudes.

Without further ado, the starting XI and substitutes are presented in the following tables:

Team mentality: Huayramarcans, per se, are bold and quite diverse between the team due to the regional contrasts among them: You might note some surnames such as: Condori, Mamani, Quispe, Sayritupac, etc. Those are Serrano surnames. Serranos as such are quite shy people with non-serranos, between them, great footballing societies may be made due to their complete understanding of each other, they are quite homogenous on how they act and may be predictable for each other. But, for the non-expert eye, Serranos are one on their kind and could result unpredictable for them, since they love to do things at fast pace between them, without doubt one could send a 60 meters cross with complete confidence that they might find their teammate, with this, you can notice that Serranos are overconfident on themselves and somewhat dubious with Costeños and Selváticos. Other characteristic of Serranos is that they are quite easy to intimidate, being shy and short-sized doesn’t helps, but in that situation, they might opt to act even better than they do for the sake of shutting your mouth.

Costeños and Selváticos (jungle) in the other hand are confident with everybody, even if they might not receive the same treatment by their Serrano fellows. Those two groups conform the rest of the team and might do good societies on field, declining the quality of their chemistry when trying to connect with Serranos, due to the latter shy mood. Physically speaking, Costeño and Selváticos are people who boast being the tallest overall in the team.

Chemistry building has been somewhat complicated for this team during the five cycles they have competed together, but has been a rather successful process that consolidated with the 79th Cup of Harmony, the 88 th and 89 th World Qup Qualifiers, as they have been together as glue through high and lows. The regional divides topic is now a thing of the past as the players have grown up significantly and have harnessed teamwork.

Although they work nicely as a team, there’s a moment when they can’t do that and that moment is when they have the goal in their sights, when they have a chance to score, they try to do their best to do it by themselves, even if that means avoid passing the ball to a better placed teammate, individualities have been surging from nowhere and this issue has costed valuable results for the team. This has been combated successfully by Caicedo and Zelaya.

To finish with this part, Huayramarca is that kind of team that may be overconfident sometimes, but if you press them to their limits, they might react in unsuspected ways, be those positive or negative for their interests, you don’t know what would happen in the Serrano, Costeño or Selvático mindset. As they do on the local league, they might try to do some antics to their rivals, be it: providing beer instead of water to their rivals, or the classiest one, giving distillated “ayahuasca” (vodka-like alcohol) and pass it like water and make their rivals be drunk, taking advantage of their influence to beat the rival team. Of course, they might not abuse of this resource, Serranos might ask Inti for it.

Game Scheme: Caicedo aims to use always a 4-2-3-1 scheme that he dubs it as “El huayco” (the mudslide) due to an analogy he made of his team with such a devastating natural phenomena: “We aim to build a fast team, aiming to be unpredictable for the others while using our regional paradigms in our favour.

El Huayco is a style of play in which you look to win back the ball as soon as you lose it, and you try to win it back as high up the pitch as possible; that means you’re closing down a lot to put pressure on the player that's just won the ball back.

The idea is that the player who just won the ball will be vulnerable and won't have time to think about his first pass. You just close him down to win the ball back quickly as high up the pitch as possible, and then you initiate a counter attack. You're likely already half way there and ready to go past into space and score a goal.

You can also use this tactic to target specific weak players, if you have noticed a weakness in a certain team. Maybe central defenders or full backs aren't comfortable on the ball, and you can look to press and close down certain individuals to try and make the most out of this game pressing style.

Caicedo has done some arrangements to this style considering the fate suffered during the World Cup 88 and 89 Qualifiers, as he now has pushed off the defensive lines closer the half of the pitch, being almost close with the midfielders’ line in order to exchange passes, reinforcing creation duties in the midfield and gaining extra protection in case the team losses the ball. The wingers now have a protagonist role as they might venture more often in attacking duties, transforming their roles to be strikers when needed, so, Huayramarca could have a 4-3-3 scheme at certain moments of the match.

For the last purpose mentioned, Serranos are heavily important, they might be the analogue of a dog felling your fear and then attacking, they as collective love to use their different point of views and implement them as one while attacking, then fast passes and maybe a long-range shot may happen, especially if the team is playing on the highlands. If the team is playing on the coast or jungle, they might seek to control the ball and make the rival team run behind the ball for some time, in order to cause climatic exhaust on them, since coast and jungle are hot and terribly humid in this part of Anaia, so it may pose a real challenge for teams not used to play in such conditions.

To achieve Caicedo’s main goal, there are several prerequisites for successful counter pressing. The decisive factor is the overall positioning of the team and their playing style right before attempting to counter press. The players must play as close to one another as possible so that they can press together as a unit right after the ball is lost – which is a given in short passing football. At the same time, they should not stick so close to one another that they neglect to cover enough space.

Many teams also have problems deciding when to stop pressing, for example, when we stop pressing if we can’t win the ball back? When should we retreat? How long should you press and with how many players? This is particularly problematic because the position of the ball is always changing. Therefore, there is a theory created by Caicedo – the five second rule. Immediately after losing the ball the team should press at top speed and with maximum intensity for five seconds, if not possible, then switch to defence.

The Kits: Huayramarca’s social mindset is to aim for local consumption in the long term, hence the HFF decided to hire “eva Sportswear” to manufacture the kits for the national team. “eva” decided to take the ball out of the park with some unique designs for Huayramarca, reflecting the national identity and adding up some motivational phrases on them for mere sake of marketing. Those kits are based on the geography of this nation, from the coast, to the highlands and jungle in order to promote a sense of national unity, especially on a stage that the national team might try to do something decent in their first World Cup Qualifiers venture.

As backgrounds, you might notice some decent spots that Huayramarca has to offer, such as Uyuni's salt lake with some astrophotography in it, Huayna Picchu's monument to Inti (Sun), Lake Quilotoa (an old volcano near the city of Tulcán), Puerto Odriozola at the San Carlos Islands, the Ojos del Salado Volcano with a lavender field and then, the second flag of the Plurinational Republic, the Wiphala, a representation of the old Incaic glory of Huayramarca and banner of the Aymara and Quechua nationalities.

“eva” decided to depict elements that provide some sense of pride and national identification for Huayramarcans, no matter where are they from, those are universal icons of what Huayramarca is and its roots. Strong roots, strong legacy, and strong people forging their future with pride and hope.

Players description - Starting XI.

Nota bene: Caps considered after World Cup 91 Finals - For national purposes, friendlies are never taken into consideration for official registries.

N°1 - Juan Mamani - GK - 28 yrs - Team: Rülândéá Kôstä Image - Height: 1.88 mts - Caps: 192 - Goals: 1

Mamani is an individual that believes he always is right, he tends to be creative when saving balls or creating some ideas to take the ball forward, based so much in the fact that he is protective, spontaneous and loves to be independent in his actions; always a reliable guy. Currently, his mood is over the clouds as he was recently signed up by the Farf side of Rülândéá Kôstä, now Juan expects to have experience at the highest level possible and learn techniques that might help the Condors sometime. A curious fact is that he’s brother with the creative mid of this team, Ian Mamani. He’s has achieved a hero status among fans due to his decisive last penalty kick save in the shootout against Omerica in the World Cup 90th in the second leg of the playoffs.

N°2 - Kevin Quispe - RCB - 24 yrs - Team: Farrenton Athletic Image - Height: 1.75 mts - Caps: 193 - Goals: 7

A pretty average guy in terms of intelligence that has no life plan, hence he left studies in order to make a living with football. He is very secretive, doesn't like even to tell his teammates what will be his next movement because he knows we will be wrong, Quispe has serious issues with anger management and may be rebellious, he is cold and ignores what the others might feel or think about him, he doesn't give a fu*k of anything. Anyways, he's flabbergasted by the fact of moving to a better football league, this time he adventures into Eura to defend Farrenton Athletic, something that he has managed to do well enough to satisfy his manager and fans.

N°4 - Carlos Vilca - LFB - 29 yrs - Team: Valnohar Rovers FC Image - Height: 1.78 mts - Caps: 191 - Goals: 12

Vilca exemplifies the stereotype of a Serrano, he is overly analytical and optimistic, with some patience when a player might approach to him, he might take some minutes to make a mental profile of who he will face and how to block him in its right side. Despite being coordinated and loving to be the centre of attention, he loves to be quiet and solitary with his own personal code of conduct, he might be extremely fair while robbing balls and could try to be the surprise factor, since he tends to be a box-to-box player that loves to defend and also create offensive plays when possible. Right now, he’s in a great personal moment due to his critical role that helped Huayramarca to put a cohesive defence during the last World Cup Qualifier.

N°6 - Felipe Fernández - RFB - 27 yrs - Team: Vogsphere United Image - Height: 1.85 mts - Caps: 194 - Goals: 10

Pipe, as known by his teammates is an extremely intelligent right fool back that adapts quite quickly to any situation he might face, he loves being orderly and hates mess. When playing, he is straight-forward and might argument with rivals, referee and even his teammates, he rarely praises others and values learning from experience. Said experiences have helped him to evolve into a solid stalwart for Omar Caicedo in the Huayramarcan defence, even helping to score few but decisive goals for the Condors against top rivals; now, he has been called up Vogsphere United from the Squornshelan Remnant States to defend the team, in what surely will be a great experience where Fernández will learn incredible lessons.

N°14 - Santiago Chumacero - LCB - 28 yrs - Team: FC Atahualpa Image - Height: 1.81 mts - Caps: 194 - Goals: 15

Chumacero's perception of things might be out of this world, his mind might be some steps forward the others and might help to anticipate to some movements that may be done by the rival. For that purpose, he's always flexible, active and plays like he would be killed if he does a mistake, he's loyal with his team, faithful and gentle, hence he might be the motivator of the squad. Chumacero is an extremely reliable player and it would be matter of time to see him departing from the Huayramarcan Liga 1 for a better place, as his athletic capabilities are too big to stagnate in an amateur-ish league.

N°17 - Orlando Mina - CM - 25 yrs - Team: Montréal Koreana Image - Height: 1.95 mts - Caps: 192 - Goals: 12

One of the two defensive mid of the team, being the classical Costeño out there, Mina is the tallest and strongest player of the squad. Mina's attitude is being original and stubborn, giving you some classical Costeño vibes, consistent in his performance and devoted to God, he cares a lot about what he does, since he tries always to correct his mistakes and not suffering on them, instead, he uses them as feedback to improve his game and abilities. Mina's a great example on how one can benefit from football, as he helped his mother who was fired from his job when he joined to the Condors and turned her into a real estate tycoon by providing her some savings. His mood is extremely positive as of now by the fact of being a key player in Montréal Koreana and for his last WC performance.

N°11 - Ian Mamani - CF - 25 yrs - Team: Workers Union Image - Height: 1.65 mts - Caps: 193 - Goals: 34

The youngest of the Mamani brothers in this team, along with Juan, Ian has what Juan might lack sometimes, creativity and brightness, although they play in totally different positions and roles in the team. This creative mid and captain of the team is one of the big things among this team, a fast-paced and fussy person with lots of potential, euphoria that drives him to perform as what he can do, being the best of the entire nation in his role. Large crosses are his specialty, including long-range shots when playing on the highlands. Right now, his euphoria level has increased a lot, considering he got called to play at the Workers Union of Eura, the fact of being called captain and being on the international TV screen for WCQ and weekend matches that any random Huayramarcan broadcast fills him with motivation.

N°8 - Nicolás Allauca - CF – 30 yrs - Team: Winnipeg United Image - Height: 1.80 mts - Caps: 194 - Goals: 22

Nico was a bus driver until the last three weeks prior to WC 85 Qualifiers, when he decided to enter to the amateur football world of Huayramarca, he was in luck that Caicedo watched him plat and fell in love on how he performed. Allauca is spontaneous and may not like to do training, he is a fast-moving and extremely practical (hates theories) defensive mid, that may mutate to a second creative mid with Ian Mamani and has also a decent capability to score goals while going to attack. Allauca is blunt, might hurt you with his eyes and ignores rules and this hasn’t helped him in his time in Chromatika, where he hasn’t been able to settle down and adapt; performing well in the National Team has been helping him to recover some lost self-confidence.

N°7 - Abraham Mendoza - LF - 26 yrs - Team: Ogroven Vanguardi FK Image - Height: 1.63 mts - Caps: 193 - Goals: 19

Nicknamed “El Ingeniero” The smallest of the entire team, Mendoza is a mentally strong individual who loves to work hard, play hard and also be a strong leader inside the team in terms of order. A competent but realistic player who may not be spectacular while playing on the wings, but pragmatical and effective when achieving his purposes. Perhaps, on his personal life he is the best positioned of all the group, since he just graduated in Industrial Engineering at the Huayramarcan Technical University with a deserved "summa cum laude", so no matter what happens, he could get a decent job position in any Huayramarcan enterprise to optimize their processes. You might notice how Abraham's personal discipline is, and this is translated even to football, where he tries to compliment some weaknesses that he may have as his height, but he tries to compensate with some decent body-building routines. He might not be a prolific scorer for the standards of a winger, but he has at least a 35% of assists for the total of Huayramarcan goals scored during the Qualifiers, hence, somebody to take care of.

N°21 - Gabriel Sayritupac - RF - 26 yrs - Team: Atletik Thessia Image - Height: 1.75 mts - Caps: 198 - Goals: 69

Sayri as he's known by many people in his native Tulcán (near the Québécois-Huayramarcan border) is an artistic person in all senses of his life. Usually, he makes a living by painting portraits of people visiting the Chimborazo National Forest Reserve, sometimes working on a local brewery or doing some football for fun. He doesn't stands being alone and might be that easy-going Serrano (which is weird, if we come to think it). He has some genetic problems that makes him quite prone to injuries, and when those occur, Sayri decides to get inebriated to let frustration go away. An artistical winger, lover of uncertainty and mess that makes him be either the best or cause problems to settle where he plays. As of now, he has managed to find its way on the Tikariot Premier League, something that has gave him that precious self-confidence back to his soul.

N°21 - Bryan Tello - ST - 31 yrs - Team: Metropolis Alligators Image - Height: 1.86 mts - Caps: 194 - Goals: 135

A decently heighted Costeño as forward is always a neat solution for your goal needs, with good pace, stride and also physic abilities Tello is what every team may need for up front. He's factual since he studied Philosophy at the University of Cumbayá, a committed and self-confident man who might be extremely traditional to his striker role, he might seek for some space in order to go front, use his strength and move towards the goal. Tello is a somewhat strong leader among the shadows of the Huayramarcan national team, an outgoing and straight-forward person that could sometimes aggressive since he's prone to be insensitive. Despite that he is the Legend of the team, the striker that is at the right place and moment to push the ball against the net, something that has helped him to gain a spot, quickly, as a starter in Metropolis Alligators, boosting his confidence to the top.

Substitutes:

Nota bene: In order to have a deeper understanding of Huayramarcan players, take in consideration the following list of personalities for the substitutes. Take some time, if you wish, to watch the substitute players list posted again down here and follow the order of said list. The first player on this list, has his mindset reflected in the left of the first row, the second in the right of the first row and so on until the last one:

SAVIGLIANE NATIONAL TEAM ROSTER
CAFA 4

The Swans are back. I cigni don't quite look like the Tlanxball Swans that qualified for World Cups 87 and 88 - and a lot has changed in Savigliane as well during that time. But under the leadership of the legendary Ichi Tuzzio, now taking his record-shattering fourth senior side to the World Cup (after Buyan, Farfadillis, and Baker Park), they've found their way back nevertheless, surviving a difficult qualifying group and a stout challenge from Tikariot to do so. While they weren't able to advance to the Ro16 for a second time in WC91, they at least managed to meet expectations, and now look to build on their success with a roster of Anaian (and indie)-based players. But the team and the nation it hails from have none of the naïvete of World Cups 87 and 88. Chastened by the past few years on and off the pitch, they know that they can't count on coming back to this tournament. If they want to win - and they desperately want to win - they'll have to start now. Some basic information about Savigliane can be found in my first WCQ RP or my BoF/WCQ RP line. Essentially, the nation has been teleported to the NS world from an IRL equivalent and is still working through the fallout of that event.

NICKNAME: The Swans / The Red and Blues
MANAGER: Ichi TUZZIO, 75 (Farfadillis)
ASSISTANT MANAGER: Friekder DANDALLEION, 75 (Farfadillis)
Thanks to Farfadillis for generously providing the below character description of Tuzzio and Dandalleion:
Ichi had a very successful football career: he plied his trade in Farfadillis playing for Ferdullaele FC, then in Turori playing for Cednia Beach, before moving to Makosile in Vilita. He was consistently a very solid player for over a decade in the V-League. On the national front, he started for Farfadillis as CAM for many years, playing a big part in their first World Cup qualification and their first AOCAF Cup win, notably scoring the winner against Vilita in the semifinal, in a 3-1 to 4-3 comeback. He was a CAM that could score incredibly frequently, and had a fearsome long shot. He loves helping develop players with characteristics similar to him, as he did with Faragó rue Cazade at Farfadillis. He could be criticized for turning Faragó into a bit of a vanity project, but his development under Tuzzio was unprecedented. Shortly after his retirement, during the celebrations of Farfadillis second AOCAF Cup win, Ichi Tuzzio was tragically shot in an attempt to mug him. He lost the ability to walk, but managed a miraculous recovery over the years which saw him able to walk with the help of a cane. This event motivated him to start his managerial career.

He started as assistant manager on the Farfadillis NT, helping out Tíbürçìó Çötàvíê. Tíbürçìó was not very good at listening, however, so at first his job was more about reigning in the players than anything relating to tactics. As Tíbürçìó started developing dementia, however, he slowly started having a bigger say on tactics, though this isn't something known to the public. Before Tíbürçìó completely slid into insanity, he moved on to the Buyanese national team, which he helped qualify to the World Cup despite them standing essentially no chance at the beginning of the cycle. From there he moved back to the Farfadillis NT once again, this time replacing Tíbürçìó instead of assisting him. He managed a fourth place finish in his first cycle, though in rather heartbreaking fashion after losing 6-3 to Turori in the semifinal. His AOCAF Cup performances were below par, and so was his World Cup 83 performance, as Farfadillis rather unceremoniously went out in the round of sixteen after a shaky group stage performance, despite having managed a perfect run in qualifiers. Coming into World Cup 84, Tuzzio's job was being heavily questioned due to both performances and style. He shut up his critics, however, by bringing the trophy to Farfadillis for the first time in its history, and not once deviating from his methods in the process. After resigning because of how stressful the job as Farfadillis manager is, he joined Baker Park's national team, where he led the Commonwealth to two knockout round appearances and a fourth-place finish in his time there.

As a manager, Tuzzio bucks the trend by being a reasonable manager despite his nationality. He still prefers heavily offensive tactics, but is willing to adapt to his players, going so far as to play merely offensively, or even a balanced playstyle when the situation calls for it. His strengths certainly lie in his man management - he wouldn't have lasted more than a few months managing Farfadillis otherwise - and in his ability to adapt. He also has very in-depth knowledge of every offensive Farf tactic in the book, which gives him a flexibility that's difficult to match. His weakness lies in his inexperience managing a good defense. He's still the manager that got the most out of a Farf defense in history, but it can't be denied that managing a Farf defense is completely different from managing a standard defense. His other weakness is that he can be temperamental, though he never showed signs of this when managing Buyan.

His assistant manager will be Friekder Dandalleion, one of the biggest Farf legends of the game and his best friend. He played for Jungle Strike for almost his entire career, and is probably one of the club's top three biggest legends. For Farfadillis, he, like Tuzzio, was instrumental in their first World Cup appearances, as well as in their first AOCAF Cup win. He also won a second AOCAF Cup, scoring the winning goal in the final against Osarius before retiring from football altogether. He's a consummate professional who will help out Tuzzio with whatever he needs, also giving him suggestions whenever he sees fit. He's not as knowledgeable as Tuzzio, but could probably make it as manager if he so desired.

TACTICS

There's more than a shade of Tlanxball in Ichi Tuzzio's tactics - the Farfish manager has opted not to rock the boat too much in terms of system, opting to focus more on installing new players in certain positions. The focus remains on retaining possession and rapidly moving the ball forwards vertically - although Tuzzio emphasizes verticality and lightning-quick transition much more than his Qusmi predecessor. In build-up, the middle center-back will stay back and use his passing range to search for opportunities to immediately advance to midfield, while the wider two will be given the green light to run forwards with the ball at their feet. One midfielder will be given more of a box-to-box role, focusing on making late runs into dangerous areas and pushing the pace, while the other will be deployed as more of a playmaker. The wingbacks essentially have free reign to turn into wingers, and will be providing the bulk of the width in this setup. The aim while in possession will be to rapidly shift the ball forward before using quick interchanges and dynamic movement in the attacking third of the pitch. To aid this, the forwards will often drift wide and into the half-spaces to stretch the opposition defense before playing back through the center or switching play to the now-exposed opposite flank. The inside-forwards will both cut inside frequently to make plays, while the striker is more of a pure goalscorer who will have more than enough playmakers feeding her in the box.

On defense, Ichi Tuzzio has opted for a surprisingly sane approach - but he was always the sanest one of the great Farfadillis managers. Defensively, Savigliane will play a relatively high line, aiming to compress the opposition's build-up toward the sidelines and pressing immediately after losing the ball. The Swans will rely on the pace and tactical instincts of their back 3-4 to cover what is a pretty attack-minded setup, especially since both wingbacks will push forward if necessary to maintain dynamism in possession. The aggression of the fullbacks, as well as the on-ball ability of the wingers, make this an even more attack-minded setup than usual, and one that thrives on exploiting weaknesses in the flanks. They might not be elite or polished, but they'll at least be fun to watch.

GOALKEEPERS
#23 - Narcisa ROUSSEAU - 26 - Felswyr (CMT)
#12 - Nicolas DuCASSE - 31 - Kingston FC (QUE)
#34 - Gianfranco GIGLIO - 24 - Pria City (CMT)

Rousseau came out of nowhere to anchor Nazionale's title-winning defense and is a dominant presence in the box with strong athleticism but a bit of an ego. Her ascendence with Nazionale has earned her a transfer to the Red League and status as the first backup over DuCasse on the World Cup roster. DuCasse is a much stronger and more consistent distributor, although his highs aren’t quite as high as D’Ambrosio, and he’s a relatively weak shot-stopper at this level. A 6'7" freak of nature, Giglio is raw but has the athleticism to be one of the world's great shot-stoppers.

DEFENDERS
#25 - LCB - Valérien TIBÈRE - 23 - 1830 Cathair (AUD)
#02 - CB - Adélaïde GARCIA - 32 - KT Moreazerua (AUD)
#13 - CB/RB - Rémy LeCLERC - 29 - Stade-Ferre Trinité

#15 - CB - Celia BIANCHI - 24 - Trimidau Rukiya (PFA)
#03 - CB - Celina BLANCO - 25 - Nazionale Acqui Bollente
#27 - CB - Alessandro ACOSTA - 30 - Nazionale Acqui Bollente

The young Tibère has grown from simply being touted as the next great Savigliano youth product to a starter for his country and for champions 1830 Cathair. A versatile defender capable of spelling left-backs in a four-at-the-back system, he's a tall, quick, and rangy defender with a bit of shithousing streak and preternatural athleticism. While Tuzzio planned to work him in more slowly, his dominant performances during qualifying have earned him more and more of the nation's trust. While still occasionally prone to mistakes while on the ball, and starting to lose her legendary pace, Adélaïde Garcia is the quickest of the back three, and the one in the highest demand last transfer window before a big-money move to Mozi. Her athleticism and man-marking capabilities make her a valuable, versatile asset to the national team, even if Valerién Tibère has stolen her thunder a bit domestically and internationally. LeClerc is sharp, athletic, and versatile (serving as both a center-back and right-back for Trinité), but not especially polished with the ball and somewhat prone to injury.

Bianchi is fearless on the ball, composed off of it, and just a few miles an hour away from being the archetypal modern center-back. Celina Blanco has all the determination and athleticism of her older sister Chiara, of Brinemouth and therefore ineligible, but isn’t quite as skilled as her older sister, although she was a key part of Nazionale's title-winning defense. Acosta was an absolute rock for Nazionale en route to their league title, and is known for his aerial ability and deceptive quickness and strength.

MIDFIELDERS
#02 - LWB - Silvan ZACARÍAS - 25 - Mont-Basiliqué
#05 - CDM - Gabriel BUVALELLI - 26 - Shamrock Cathair (AUD)
#17 - CM - Nathaniel AUVERGNE - 29 - Miradela GD (KOR)
#04 - RWB - Gianni ESPOSITO - 23 - Burnaby SC (KSK)

#13 - LWB - Riccardo MONZA - 24 - Komunemos Calcio
#16 - CM - Natalia FIORE - 30 - AC Acqui Bollente
#29 - CM/AM - Alessandro BELLA - 28 - Clayquot City (KSK)
#26 - RWB - Aurora CAZALET - 28 - AS Villeneuve

Zacarías starting here is a bit of a...commentary on how weak Savigliane's Anaia-based wingback depth is. Nevertheless, he's excelled at Mont-Basiliqué in a similar tactical system owing to his shifty runs up the touchline and strong crossing ability, so he earns the starting job here. Buvalelli unexpectedly broke into Alessandro Juliana’s first team in Audioslavia’s National League and rose to stardom for both club and country before a big-money move to Shamrock this window, and although temperamental, his deep-lying playmaking makes him Pietro Giraudo’s heir apparent at the senior level. Auvergne is a talented player whose creativity and physicality make him a strong rotational option at the WC level despite his lack of speed. Esposito is athletic and technically gifted, but earned a reputation as lazy before manager Lucas Allard unlocked a breakout season from the young fullback that earned him a transfer to Kelssek.

Monza has quickly become a critical factor in Komunemos' overperformance owing to his electrifying pace and tactical knowledge that belies his young age. Fiore (yes, Bianca’s sister) is a hard-nosed, defensive-minded number six whose speed and keen sense of positioning manifest in her seemingly appearing everywhere on the pitch to shut down opposing attacks. Bella, a former young player of the year in Savigliane, is known for his creativity and flair with the ball, and surprisingly high workrate (somewhat compensating for his lack of athleticism) without it. Cazalet, diminutive but pacy, excels on the overlap with her winger but is somewhat weak defensively.

FORWARDS
#21 - LW/ST/RW - Bonagiunta ROSSI - 24 - Lanar (CMT)
#18 - ST - Thea SQUARCIAFICHI - 29 - 1830 Cathair (AUD)
#10 - RAM/CM - Adrian TOSCANI - 30 - Cazadores Cathair (AUD)

#22 - LW/RW - Zoë BARTHELEMY - 32 - Crossroads (CMT)
#09 - ST - Elizabeth BLANC - 25 - Coquitlam United (KSK)
#37 - RW - Victor COLLOMB - 26 - Marthorpe City FC (FVA)

Rossi came out of nowhere with ACAB (replacing Rinaldi, who left for Græntfjall) to score an incredible twenty goals - one for each year of his life - in 29 SavigLega appearances. He's kept up the pace with first Alnio and then Tor in the Red League, although his star is dimmed somewhat by his teams' middling performance (in his mind). His best asset is his absolutely lethal pace and skill, although he’s a bit skinny and a legendarily bad teammate who forced his way out of ACAB. Squarciafichi is a predatory finisher and absolutely lethal in the penalty box. Although a solid dribbler, her best runs are off the ball, and her passing is still a work in progress, although slightly improved. Toscani is a technically gifted young midfielder who, despite not being particularly athletic, has already impressed in his short time at Porto Vecchio, earning himself a transfer to Caza in the process. He’s capable of playing as a center-midfielder, an attacking-midfielder, or, thanks to his surprisingly good crossing ability, on the wing. With three strong players at premier clubs, this is undoubtedly a position of strength for Tlanx-Nulzk Hal.

Barthelemy, whose resurgence after a recent transfer helped her new (at the time) club to the CL Round of 16, is more of a natural winger, although she’s ambidextrous and versatile enough to play on either wing. Her greatest assets are her energy, pace, and dribbling, but she’s a little lacking in end product. Blanc isn't the best finisher, but is a hard-working, playmaking forward with a lot of ambition. Collomb, known for a methodical, deliberate style of play, is a strong passer and finisher most at home setting up teammates.

THE SEEKERS

The 'Evermark national football team', calling themselves the Seekers, have arrived at the CAFA determined to secure a result, which they consider a sacred duty. This is Evermark's first official tournament, though they are adamant in claiming that they, or at least their people, have previously won a World Cup. While some players have started to prove themselves abroad, they retain a determination to call up at least one player per 'Pride'.

Contact was made by an ethnography team from a number of universities. The result of their studies of the first Evermarker season, and a number of their customs, can be found here. The ethnography team have continued to operate as the Evermarkers' go-between with civilisation, and effectively sponsored their arrival in the CAFA.

The Seekers will take to the field in green shirts and black shorts, with an all-white change strip and an all-orange or all-indigo goalkeeper strip. While their kits and boots are rudimentary by modern standards, they are fairly functional.

Evermark's opponents have permission to do anything short of a godmod.

STYLE: -2
FORMATION:[/b] 4-4-2
Image
Used to a permissive refereeing style in their homeland, Evermarkers play an unrelentingly physical and dirty style of play, regarding this as their most likely way of acquiring the sacred Result. Used to being on the receiving end of such play, their attacking combinations are very direct, often bypassing the midfield. Without exception, their players are strong and athletic, though lacking many sport science innovations integral to the modern game such as cryotherapy or doping. After defeat, they will fast the night in penance, which does carry the risk of a protracted losing streak; after victory, they drink themselves into a stupor, carrying its own risks.

Perilous Sapphire has at times come dangerously close to unorthodox thought, last CAFA often opting for a 4-4-2 where one of the 'strikers' was, to all intents and purposes, a midfielder. This will be tolerated only so long as it is successful.

MANAGER
Perilous Sapphire - Age 41 - Valiant
Sapphire brought unexpected glory to the Valiant last season. She respects the sport deeply and hopes to learn much from the tournament.

GOALKEEPERS
1 - GK - Valour Hawes - Age 36 - Diligent
An old war-horse of a goalkeeper, Hawes has little technical ability, but is warmly respected amongst the Seekers. He is very unlikely to see action, being far past his prime.

12 - GK - Merry Cassalei - Age 26 - Pristine
An avid feaster, drinker and boaster, Cassalei cuts a generous figure between the posts but lunges for the ball with a deceptive agility. There's a low-key ferocity behind those sleepy eyes. Easily the best goalkeeper in Evermark, but poor compared to much of the rest of the team.

20 - GK - Prudent Tathale - Age 29 - Watchful
An unremarkable backup goalkeeper, Tathale was selected to represent one of the weaker Prides. Her job is to sit quietly at the back and not cause trouble.

DEFENDERS
2 - RB - Costil Weary Eyes - Age 23 - Valiant
A young and promising contestant, though one who carries an oddly world-weary look. Costil hails from an ancient and honoured line of ferret-herds, so merely corralling wingers is child's play.

3 - LB - Aniseed Connell - Age 27 - Diligent
A darting, clever fullback, Connell is derided by many in Evermark for his seeming reluctance to merely scythe down his opponents, rather trying to win the ball fairly.

4 - CB - Gerhard Beacon - Age 30 - Paragon
Gerhard stands firm in defence and sets a good example to the rest of the team. He is appallingly slow, but the team's conservative low block should at least look to cover for this.

5 - CB - Sutter Hurlbat - Age 34 - Watchful
A powerhouse of a defender, Sutter is well-known for his ability to drag people down by the arm, and is reportedly disappointed to discover this is considered a 'foul' in modern football.

16 - RB - Rascal Annika - Age 25 - Inspired
A young woman of promise, Annika is one of the few attack-minded fullbacks in Evermark, making up for her courageous forward runs by cynically fouling anyone who gets behind her.

18 - CB - Silent Matthis - Age 28 - Resplendent
Matthis lets his football do the talking. Or, at least, what he does on the pitch; one time, he bit a chunk of flesh off a man's calf. A respected man of honour.

22 - LB - Layla Meretricious - Age 26 - Aspirant
A limited but tireless player, Layla is arguably too willing to follow modern methods of sport science, and currently hopes to be able to use a cryo-chamber between games.

24 - CB - Garnet Stephi - Age 20 - Watchful
Short for an Evermarker, let alone a centre-half, Stephi's success at the Rites is chiefly down to her willingness to wrestle people to the ground in a manner frowned upon by international refereeing standards.

MIDFIELDRS
6 - DM - Elena Oaktree - Age 26 - Resplendent
Slow and strong, as her honourific suggests, Elena has a languid grace in possession that livens up even the very physically focused, grinding and direct Rites.

8 - CM - Torches Kessler - Age 29 - Sanford Der Berg PREMIER FK (ZRH)
A bold and hard-running midfielder who has already passed between three victorious Prides, Kessler's honourific comes for his raging temper.

10 - RM - Fixed-wing Caspar - Age 26 - Aspirant
The fastest man in the league, Caspar's lack of other discernable attributes or virtues does little to hold him back in a competition of that calibre.

11 - LM - Adelaide Sacrosanct - Age 28 - Erudite
Adelaide's origins are a mystery to the ethnography team. All that is known is that she inspires a hushed terror in all around.

13 - RM - Kalenz Rhinohide - Age 24 - Dauntless
A relative latecomer to the rites, Kalenz proved his right to compete by slaying a bear with tooth and nail alone. Admired for his ferocity more than his ability to hit a cross.

14 - CM - Spindle Idina - Age 27 - Ardent
Idina despises her pathetically weak Pride, the Ardent, though it is that Pride's very weakness that meant she was a certain callup for the Seekers. She craves the opportunity to prove herself abroad, but it is doubtful she is of the requisite quality.

19 - LM - Sparkling Ingrid - Age 23 - Gilded City Dragons (COR)
Considered something of an iconoclast in Evermarker circles, Ingrid once made the bold suggestion that the permissive refereeing at the Rites was contributing to the sport's brutal attrition rates. That she has been called up despite her moral failings speaks much of her talent.

23 - DM - Hard-nosed Carsten - Age 28 - Outcast
The leading committer of fouls and accumulator of yellow cards in the Rites, Carsten has earned much honour and credibility for his work. He is a thug, and admired for it.

25 - AM - Relentless Andre - Age 23 - Paragon
The closest thing in Evermark to a traditional playmaker, Andre is notorious for his refusal to run; he is one of the few whose honourific appears to be completely ironic.

26 - CM - Kris Sweetling - Age 19 - Dauntless
The ethnography team is yet to work out the deal with Kris, who remains for the most part under wraps.

FORWARDS
7 - ST - Leif Nine Fingers - Age 25 - Carrington PREMIER (TLI)
A scarred, handsome striker, who is believed one of the likeliest to earn a foreign contract. His name is no metaphor, one finger having been eaten by a rabid thylacine. 12 goals last season made him the Rites' top scorer.

9 - ST - Towering Pollard - Age 31 - Aspirant
Pollard stands at 6'11". The modest level of the Evermarker Rites is such that this alone has made him a force to be reckoned with.

15 - ST - Promiscuous Emerjade - Age 26 - Paragon
Emerjade is reputed to have slept with most of the rest of her Pride, a feat regarded solemnly as proof of immense passion, stamina and willingness to build team chemistry.

17 - ST - Umber Ruskin - Age 23 - Ardent
Short, powerful and pugnacious, Ruskin is respected by his willingness to battle with defenders, using his low centre of gravity to get an edge.

21 - ST - Ziska Longshanks - Age 28 - Pristine
One of the most dangerous forwards in Evermark, Ziska carries much of the team's goalscoring hopes, but carries a significant badge of shame having once been caught diving for a penalty. After a priest broke her legs to make penance, her moniker now carries a rather cruelly ironic bent.

ISKANDERVALE
Preferred Formation:
4-3-1-2
Style Modifier: 2
Kit Supplier: Cloaker
Captain: Oskana Karapetyan
Nickname: The Simurghs

Iskandervale's reputation is as, in order of significance: a far-flung battleground in the Endemian War, a tourist destination for if you really can't afford a beach that might not have unexploded mines by the shore, and a plucky football team doing their best to make up the numbers. Naming themselves after an immortal bird seems fitting, and hopefully prescient.

Iskandervale has produced three exceptional footballers: Ishtar Fanaiyan, Servet Misidjan, Voska Avetisyan. All three played for Nephara instead. There's a substantial Iskandrian diaspora in Nephara, and elsewhere in Anaia, but Iskandervale's trying to build something more sustainable as the scars of war hopefully begin to recede ...

Tactics
Image
First-choice lineup. Pace and power will be the watchwords, hoping to make up in physicality what they lack in skill, and given their Nepharan origins they will be brutal and uncompromising both in tackling and in gamesmanship. They're going to come flying at teams, especially down the right, with Nasir Majerle a gifted attacking player and natural forward linking up with the playmaker Kamarandan, but may well get brutally exposed on the counterattack, especially given the sluggish pace of their defence.

Staff
Manager: Parvidzhon Borrowfield - Age 48

Once a centre-half, then assistant, now Borrowfield's running the rule over the whole thing. An iron-fisted tyrant, believed to be something of a minor acolyte of Skorjiball. If the main issue managing people who once played alongside you is making sure they all know you aren't their mate... well, job done.

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Hansa Tabasi - Age 24 - Hornchurch (EUR)
12 - GK - Reza Schmidt - Age 29 - Arrowsmith (EUR)
20 - GK - Knoll Petrosian - Age 21 - Lokomotiv Iskandabad

The gangly and unorthodox but effective Tabasi has emerged to become the undoubted first-choice, though Schmidt served capably for years.

Defenders
3 - LCB - Yazdegerd Turnbull - Age 30 - KT Koroatuz (AUD)
5 - RCB - Oskana Karapetyan - Age 36 - Veriasod Wolves FC (TKT)
6 - CB - Varazdat Stubbs - Age 34 - Urrheddiao (CMT)
16 - CB - Artaxerxes Bowman - Age 24 - Vakhqul Ironworks
18 - CB - Cass Ardashir - Age 28 - AC Pomena (JUE)
24 - CB - Casper Tarkanian - Age 24 - Umbershore Rovers

Some belated overhauls in defence - Karapetyan and Stubbs have been the defensive core for years, but now are just too old for the rigours of the CAFA.

Midfielders
2 - RWB - Asghar Rouhani - Age 27 - Navakor Farchi
4 - DM - Adelaide Casimir - Age 31 - Proudcastle (BRE)
7 - RWB - Nasir Majerle - Age 28 - Sabrefell Moths (NPH)
8 - CM - Seth Rezaei - Age 23 - Umbershore Rovers
11 - CM - Tasha Kamarandan - Age 24 - Felswyr (CMT)
15 - LWB - Odette Saighani - Age 27 - Kurtz Herretik (MRT)
17 - CM - Miriam Resan - Age 32 - Sword (EUR)
19 - DM - Younis Pyrite - Age 33 - Royal Ibarbe (ASG)
22 - LWB - Yon Maurtua - Age 27 - KT Ferramendiak (AUD)
23 - CM - Jon-Jafar Latham - Age 24 - Gaelic Club (TLI)
25 - AM - Colwyn Blake - Age 23 - Navakor Farchi
26 - CM - Luna Xerxes - Age 19 - Iskandabad United

Has evolved into quite a strong unit, bizarrely. Maurtua and Majerle are excellent if somewhat crowbarred wingbacks, Pyrite's an experienced midfield destroyer while Kamarandan is the best player to have ever actually represented Iskandervale, a fluid midfield technician around whom the entire side flows. There is no replacement.

Forwards
9 - ST - Artak Voskanyan - Age 33 - Flying Jellyfish (FFD)
10 - ST - Clotho Sulaka - Age 31 - Hofvinger (GRF)
13 - ST - Rudy Najjarine - Age 26 - Lokomotiv Iskandabad
14 - ST - Shamshira Kadhim - Age 24 - Bradwell Saints (KRY)
21 - ST - Brandon Mkrtchyan - Age 32 - Dhalopura FC (INS)

Surprisingly, the attacking corps look okay. The pugnacious poacher Voskanyan is complemented by arrogant, fiery Clotho Sulaka, already something of a journeywoman. Mkrtchyan cut his teeth in the Nepharan lower leagues, and offer a lot of grit despite limited technical ability. Kadhim will get there, but this isn't yet her day. It isn't Najjarine's day, either, but he just isn't very good to start with, and probably won't play a minute.

Open to being kicked if numbers would be inconvenient.

Emerging from a bloody civil war that saw Pyazhnaya shake off the shackles of communism, the country is now opening up from its forced isolation, trying to form ties to the international sporting community. For many Pyazhnayans football was the one pastime that united them, despite the corrution scandals that had shaken the league for a long time, with the communist leaders moving players around to their favourite clubs and quenching opposition. Several clubs were dissolved after the war was over and now the Pyzhnayan Football Federation is picking up the pieces and trying to unite everything and everybody. The Xannerian National was the national team's first venture onto the international stage, but the first edition of CAFA in Legalese was the first official tournament of Pyazhnaya, where they were only knocked out by Saltstead in the quarter finals. They did, however, gain the attention of the international football community in their participation in the Baptism of Fire 76 tournament, where they pulled off the very rare feat of a perfect tournament, winning it with nine victories in a row, securing Pyazhnaya a record in the tournament's history books. The qualification campaign for World Cup 89 did not quite continue in the same vein, with the Phoenix finishing in eighth position with a still respectable 21 points, with their sophomore campaign suffering from too many inconsistencies, something that their third attempt at the WCQ91 continued, however their performances overall were a lot more encouraging and give hope for the CAFA 4 to see at least a slight upswing in their fortunes.

Image
Aleksandr Zavrashin - 42
Aleksandr Zavrashin's spell as national coach for Pyazhnaya has proven to be a very successful one with the nation's victory at the Baptism of Fire. Employing a flexible 4-4-2 that allows the players freedom to roam depending on the situation in the game, it makes the islanders very difficult to prepare for, even though they still have a few issues with sometimes being too unpredictable even for each other, but also given the young ages of many of the first team players, this is something that more experience should be able to alleviate.

Image
GK Maksimilian Chupov - 21 - Shakhter Khilvoysk
Despite his young age, Maksimilian Chupov is the probably best netminder in Pyazhnaya with catlike reflexes and good aerial prowess. His main weakness is the command of his defense, which is due to his inexperience, but exacerbated by the fact that three of the four players ahead of him are 21 and younger as well.
LB Vasily Fanin - 21 - Torpedo Krasnograd
Lightning quick on his feet, Fanin is a left back of the modern school, fast to move forward and back, with a knack for nice crosses into the opponents' box. However he still gets caught out of position too often and then has to scramble back.
CB Ulyona Khomkolova - 23 - Emberton Hibernians (KRY)
From champions FK Vselitamak, Khomkolova is as uncompromising in challenges as they come. Her grace has been likened to a disgruntled rhino before morning caffeine, but does she ever get the job done. Don't expect any technical finesse or beautiful ball distribution, if you find yourself within a few feet with her, either be very quick or ready to get closely acquainted with the grass underneath. After a bidding war, she ended up signing a contract with the Emberton Hibernians in Krytenia.
CB Yekaterina Pshenichnikova - 22 - Emerald Coast Raiders (TKT)
Yekaterina Pshenichnikova has been one of the revelations of the past Tikariot Premier League season. Despite her team getting relegated, she managed to be selected for the TPL's B Team of the Year and now will be joining the Oriannor Mountaineers for the new season. By far not as physical as Khomkolova, Pshenichnikova has a great read of the game, allowing her to be just that one step quicker towards the ball than the opponent, allowing her to avoid the need for a tackle and through that giving her the opportunity to initiate counter attacks as she can remain on her feet. While she still needs some time to hone and finetune her talent, she has shown that she can be a great link between offense and defense.
RB Maksimilan Trukhin - 28 - Straton FC (TMB)
For most parts of the game he is almost unnoticeable, but that does not mean that he is not playing well. Immensely efficient in defensive play, he often shies away from venturing too far into the opposing half, but he knows how to shut down oncoming traffic by suddenly being in the right spot at the right time.
LM Gennady Burtsov - 32 - Advance Alara (KOR)
One of the more experienced players in the squad, Burtsov had been a mainstay for Prizrachnaya Brigada for many years before making the big step into Ko-oren. Equipped with a horse lung he can run up and down for 90 minutes and barely break a sweat, running the opposition ragged. Not a magician on the field, he is one of the players necessary so that others can work their midfield magic.
CM Andrey Guslyakov - 21 - Prizrachnaya Brigada Cherniy Zamok
One of Pyazhnaya's raw diamonds, Guslyakov is the magician that a player like Burtsov allows to shine. Fleet-footed and graceful he has all the tools to become a bonafide playmaker that can dance around an opponent like it's nothing and also has a great shot. He just needs to bulk up a bit and work on his decision making, which at times can be a little, let's call it, surprising. Even for his own team mates.
CM Timur Krasnopyorov - 32 - Marthorpe City FC (FVA)
Another veteran, Krasnyoporov is the safety net for Guslyakov with his ability to shut down oncoming attacks quickly and turn play around. Where Guslyakov's shots are finessed, his are more of the steamhammer kind. He is lacking some precision, but sometimes brute force is just the right tool to get things done.
RM Inna Parshikova - 24 - Dhun Lagarr FC (TKT)
Another player to have eyes on her from different scouting departments is Inna Parshikova, who has been a shooting star during the last season. Literally nobody has had her on their notepads before the season started and now she is considered the next breakout star. Blessed with tactical acumen way beyond her years, she is equally dangerous for scoring and passing, making her a total footballing package as she also is quite capable of withstanding tackles. She was one of the first Pyazhnayans venturing abroad and after a spell in the Squornshelan Remnant States now calls Parakleion home.
FW Vsevolod Bogolyubsky - 22 - Robur Astelo (SOR)
Seen as the brightest Pyazhnayan forward prospect, Bogolyubsky has made some great progress since his transfer to San Ortelio and has taken over as second starting forward next to Larisa Nekrestyanova, not least due to Svetlana Ananyeva's decreasing speed that now is making her a great and dangerous impact sub. Bogolyubsky is Surprisingly quick and agile for a forward of his size, with a towering aerial presence and a much improved scoring record since his move.
FW Larisa Nekrestyanova - 31 - Vilharady Owls FC (TKT)
The second player playing in Tikariot, Nekrestyanova has convinced management in Vilharady so much in her brief stint during the second half of the TPL season to secure her a starting position for the upcoming season. Not so much a born goal scorer, she can weave her way in and out of the penalty box and is great to lay off the ball for oncoming midfielders or put sharp crosses for conversion. She is, however, also adept in scoring, making her an all around offensive threat.

G Timur Yefrenov - 27- FK Vselitamak
LB Fedor Chernykh - 32 - St. John's Arsenal (QUE)
LB Danya Zabolotnaya - 19 - Avanaroch White Wings (TKT)
CB Artyom Ostrovsky - 21 - Prizrachnaya Brigada Cherniy Zamok

The Krasnograd Dome in the Pyazhnayan capital is usually the home of Torpedo Krasnograd, but also is the stadium for the national team. With 61,000 seats it is the largest and also most modern stadium in the country, featuring all the amenities international guests expect from an international venue and its picturesque location near the waterfront also makes it easily reachable by public transit from the airport or city centre.

Starting with the obvious need-to-knows:
RP Permissions: Your permissions are my permissions -- if you’re cool with me doing X to you, I’m cool with you doing X to me; in the case of injuries, deaths, or other extreme events, I reserve the right to interpret the effect on the involved Legalites differently. Otherwise, consider everything shared here as a guideline.
Style Modifier: +5, please.

Overview:Legalese is a large country in the middle of the Nova Calania continent in the region of Anaia. It has a population of around 30 billion people, and is bound by Starblaydia to the north, Lake Bekk to the east, a mix of unincorporated land and The 189 to the south, and the Sea of Champions to the northwest.

The national team has been a participant in the World Cup and with the World Cup Committee since the eighteenth edition, with a top finish of fourth. Other honors include winning the fifty-fifth Cup of Harmony, as well as being the current defending champions of the Jeremy Jaffacake Jamboree. Legalese has also participated in every CAFA Cup to date, including hosting the inaugural competition, as well as being home to the competition’s administrative offices in Foxchester, Legalese.

The Team

Keepers:
1 Alex Crosby, Age 26, Newton.
22 Billy-Joe Bishop, Age 19, Callsville.

Defense:
2 Archibald Flynn, Age 20, Basswood.
3 Everett Knott, Age 18, Centerville.
4 Patrick Melendez, Age 32, Torture.
5 Daniel Angel, Age 24, Kelton.
18 Ken Busby, Age 19, Stratsrock.
19 Aman Galloway, Age 32, Rockland Reservoir.
20 Jacob Webster, Age 17, Pultney.
21 Dylan Davie, Age 18, Barringhurst.

Midfield:
6 Campbell Hamilton, Age 22, River Line.
7 Mackenzie Appleton, Age 23, Turkey Ridge.
8 Chace Salazar, Age 27, Stratsrock.
15 Gabriel Roth, Age 24, Bekk.
16 Tanvir Gordon, Age 17, Clemenwold.
17 Kade Warren, Age 16, Rockland Reservoir.

Forwards:
9 Eli Cowan, Age 17, Quarrysville.
10 Joey Muir, Age 26, Runnewold.
11 Isa James, Age 19, Surf City.
12 Win Crossley, Age 20, Ashland.
13 Amar Good, Age 21, Tavisford.
14 Casey Goddard, Age 32, Fisher Point.

Manager: Grant Management, around 47 years old, Northbury.

Playing Style: Legalite Football is Scrappy Soccer. It relies on maximum effort, high energy, and relentlessness-bordering-on-criminal-charges. Every game will see a generous use of all three substitutes to provide as much energy as possible. When at their best, Legalities never give up on the ball, even going so far as harassing the keeper, and providing the extra pressure needed to make the opposition mistake fall just at the wrong time. The risk, however, is twofold: 1) against superior opposition (i.e., most opponents), this can mean easy openings that they’ll soon rue; 2) A higher proclivity for getting in trouble with the referee, leading to a risk of more cards and more unexpected changes. That said, if the chips are down, expect this team to double down on their efforts -- for better or worse.

Lineup: General preference is for 1-11 to play, but anyone could see the pitch and lead the Legalites to further irrelevance at any moment.

The ones with color-names are robots; the forwards are humans who live in Port Anaia under the protection of the 189. The human players can be subbed out so they don't get too tired. The robots don't need to.

--------- a.k.a. Anaia Stadium
Capacity 9,000
Anaia Stadium is in Port Anaia, a few blocks back from the waterfront, but still convenient to the nice hotels along the beach. It was originally built for baseball, but they have a sapient earthmover that can remove the pitcher's mound. (It may or may not know how to replace and maintain the grass.)

The origin of the 189:
The 189 wrote:The 189 are refugees from a planet known as -----. The native inhabitants, known as --------, look like a weird hybrid of a giant squid and a praying mantis, and they communicate using bioluminescent orbs on their heads that can glow many different colors. Their language is entirely built on color and light, without any sound or text. The -------- were very technologically advanced, and their economy was automated to a high degree, with many jobs being done by machines. However, as more and more workers were replaced by machines, it became difficult for the poor to find employment. As inequality grew, the rich became increasingly disdainful of the poor, and the poor became increasingly resentful against the rich -- until finally their resentment boiled over and there was a revolution. Angry unemployed -------- rioted in the streets, killed business-owners, and smashed the machines that had taken their jobs.

Some business-owners and machines fled from the mobs and went into hiding in remote areas of -----. Others escaped to the planet's moons. One group of machines climbed aboard an interstellar spaceship and fled out of the solar system entirely. These machines are the 189 -- 188 robots and autonomous vehicles plus the ship itself.

For years they wandered among the stars. They had no trouble maintaining themselves, but with no owners to tell them what to do, and no customers for them to serve, their existence felt a little empty. And so they sought out an inhabited world where they could find new owners, new customers, anyone or anything to give their existence a purpose.

RP Permissions Box
If my opponent RPs our match first, I give them permission to:
Godmod scoring events: Y
RP Injuries to my players: minor injuries are OK, but nothing that takes out a human player for more than one match, and no damage to the robots that can't be easily repaired
Godmod injuries to my players: see above
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Y
Hand out red cards to my players: N
Godmod other events: N
I prefer you pick these goalscorers for my side: The human players and the two midfielders would score most often, but it is OK to RP any player scoring a goal.

Initials, Name, Position, Age, Team, Place of Birth

Staff

Richard VALENS - Manager – Image
Cormac O'NEILL – Assistant Manager - Image
Jonathan REDMAYNE – Goalkeeping Coach - Image
Selaphiel KENNEDY – Forwards Coach - Image

Team

Playing in the following formation: GK | DL DC DC DR | MC MC MC | SC SC SC

The first player(s) named in each area of the team start the game. Our line-up will broadly be as follows (unless you RP one of our players has an injury or something):

GK: Wilson
DsL-R: Barrett, Willingham, D'Entro, Featherborn
MCs: Walker, Mikkels, Lewis
SCs: Builder, Clearedway, Gibson

Further information on the players is below if it is required and/or of interest.

Number, Name, Position, Age, Place of Birth, Club
All players male (He/Him) unless specified
Goalkeepers - 3

1 - Louis WILSON - GK – 28 – Fort Boston Image – Cottsworth City Image
13 – Leora SOFTSTEP - GK – 21 – Cerrston, Juniper Island Image – Juniper Mournhow F.C. Image
She/Her
Leora's place of birth is noted as Cerrston, when in fact she was born on one of the ships carrying Bostopians to their new home in the Ochres. That it happened to dock in Cerrston, where her family settled, was just luck. Her parents chose a new surname after watching their child take her first furtitive steps outside, wanting to ditch their old Bostopian name. While there is some doubts over her ability to play as an international goalkeeper, her ability to read the game makes up for a lack of height (comparative to other top-flight goalkeepers at least) and fans joke that it seems she knows where the ball will go before the striker does.
12 - Eric BIRDTENDER - GK – 20 – Nuntsby, Handsby Island Image – Bellflower A.U. Image
Birdtender is Bellflower A.U.'s current number two goalkeeper, but has impressed in cup games (which he regularly starts) enough to make the national side. His parents were fundamental in the study of native species in the Ochres, and his surname was later chosen to reflect this.

Defenders - 7

3 - Taylor BARRETT - DL – 30 – Norteaton Image – Lansdorn Image
4 – Jordan WILLINGHAM – DC – 28 – Bassingdale Image – Nuntsby City Image
2 - Louis D'ENTRO - DC – 21 – Bellflower, Mournhow Island Image – Cottsworth City Image
Louis was born in what was known then as 'New Ranton', which was the name of the capital of the Bostopian Ochre Islands prior to independence. He is one of the better players in Cottsworth's side, who are regular title contenders in the Ochre League Division One.
16 - Lucy FEATHERBORN- DR – 19 – City of Louisa, Hope Island Image – Louisa Hope F.C. Image
She/Her
Featherborn currently plies her trade on the right-wing for Louisa Hope F.C., her hometown team. Pacy and versatile, she is more likely to try and beat her opponent with the ball at her feet rather than pass around them. She already displays a range of passing that could see her propelled into the midfield, whether on the wing or in the middle should her development continue at the pace it is.

15 - Harry SANDMAN – DC-DL – 18 – Slipsway, Chaffinch Island Image – Slipsway Town F.C. Image
Harry Sandman is the first player in any Ochre national squad to be born on Chaffinch Island. Adopting his surname from his love of running on the beach, he tends to be more of a sweeper than a proper centre half, being able to quickly take care of opponents passes into the box before they cause too much harm. His pace and stamina also allows him to play as a makeshift right wing-back, but his crosses come across as clearances more often than not.
6 – Arto NEWCOMER - DC – 22 – Lander's Port, Mournhow Island Image – Nottshore Turquoise F.C. Image
Arto Newcomer was born mere days after the first ships began arriving in the Ochre Islands from Bostopia. His parents immediately changed their – and his – family name on arrival in the islands, so his heritage beyond that is unknown. Arto, whilst young, is a regular feature in the back line of Nottshore Turquoise and integral to keeping them in the top division of Ochre football.

5 - Leonard BURKE – DR – 33 – Glenrock - Image – Juniper Monnstair Image

Midfielders - 8

14 - Carl WALKERCaptain - DMC – 29 – Fort Boston Image – Lower Soffsley Image
11 - Joseph MIKKELS - MC – 24 – Hilltop Image – Lower Soffsley Image
8 - Harry LEWIS - MC – 23 – Port Flamerty Image – Nuntsby City Image
17 - Luke MATSON - MC – 28 – Jennaerton Image – Stangtons Image
7 - Copse CLEAREDWAY - AMC – 21 – Callais, Jensee Island Image – Slipsway Town Image
Copse Clearedway was born in Callais, which is on one of the smaller Ochre Islands of Jensee. He is first-choice striker for Slipsway Town, a mid-table side in the first division of domestic Ochre football. However for the Ochre national team, he is more likely to be played as an attacking midfielder to give us a significant threat just outside the area, as well as knowing where a striker would want a ball playing to them.

18 - Bradley WATKINS - AMC – 33 – Rivdale Image – West Bellflower Image
15 - Mick BASING - DMC – 23 – Sennaton Image – Bellflower A.U. XI Image
20 - Pete READ - D/AMC – 31 – Flamerty Image – Cottsworth City Image

Strikers - 5
9 - Rory BUILDER - SC – 21 – Kollingdon, Handsby Island Image – Valesthorpe Image
Rory is the youngest of the Ochre-born players, having been born a mere day or two after his parents reached Kollingdon following their migration to the Ochres from Fenton State. Whilst still largely bench-warming for Valesthorpe, the national team can see his promise and are taking him to CAFA3 in the hopes of giving him international experience in low-pressure situations.

22 - Blue GIBSONVice-Captain - SC – 28 – Acorn Wood Image – Juniper Monnstair Image
She/Her
Blue Gibson is the first Bostopian-born female player to ever represent her country in an international football tournament. Whilst there have been female managers of the Bostopian national team, Blue was seen as a 'once-in-a-lifetime' footballing talent that the OIFA could find no reason, legally or otherwise, to exclude her from the national team. It was her second goal of the CAFA final which had sealed the Ochres 3 – 1 win over Saltstead with 3 minutes remaining of the 90. Blue also scored the winning goal to send the Ochre Islands to the World Cup finals for the first time.

Despite playing for a smaller Ochre side, sitting in the 4th tier of the football league, C.J. has excelled and proven himself at a high level thanks to helpful cup draws against much better teams projecting his abilities on the national stage. While football at the lower levels is a bit more rough and ready than the higher divisions, he has always been able to hold his own against strong defenders despite his young age, and their willingness to let him know they're there.

Kits & Logo

Home, Away and Third

ImageImageImage

The Ochre Islands kits were designed and manufactured by OchreSport, with input from the Ochre Islands Football Association.
Following the abysmal CAFA3 campaign, the home kit removes all gold references and goes back to the traditional striped ochre and blue ochre scheme, with white trim.
The away kit is a contiuation of the popular 'Anaiaway' theme promoted by the OIFA, which they say 'promotes peace & harmony and reminds us that whilst we may be in an away kit, the Anaia region is still our home'.
The third kit uses the blue of Chaffinch Island and the red of Flanbourne Island, in a continuation of the partnership between OIFA and the Ochre Islands Tourist Board.

Before CAFA 2, the Ochre Islands Football Association ran a competition to design the team's logo, which was won by a 34 year old man with neither design experience or taste. Fortunately, an update of the design to account for taste was commissioned and outsourced by the OIFA, which is as below. The badge prominently features a 'little mint green hat', which actually commemorates the Ochre Islands victory in the second CAFA tournament.

Image

The Ochre Islands play a possession-based style of football which aims to prevent the opposition from scoring by simply not letting them have the ball. While we will prefer safer passes, the players generally have a good sense of when a chance is 'on' and will play balls with added risk involved where necessary.

Introduction

Flavovespia, an island nation in southern Anaia. A population of a little over 20 million is passionate about football, and an inaugural World Cup appearance has only elevated the support for the national team. They return to the CAFA Cup with a relatively strong regional ranking, and will look to put their World Cup experience to use in this regional tournament.

Squad

Manager

Manager – Augusto Rinaldi Age: 58(Savigliane)

The manager who took Flavovespia to their first World Cup, Augusto Rinaldi will hold a special place in the hearts of Flavovespian fans. The man from Savigliane has shown that it was well worth Flavovespia looking overseas for a new manager. A quarter final in CAFA Cup 3 and a 3rd place in CAFA Cup 2 is a good record in this tournament. Generally he plays a direct 4-3-3, and is well known for good squad management, a factor in just how well Flavovespia have performed recently.

Goalkeepers

1 Aarif Muhammad Age: 29 Position: GK Club: Rockridge Phoenix [BRE] Caps: 122 Goals: 0
12 Lucky Diamond Age: 31 Position: GK Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 29 Goals: 0
23 Thomas Foley Age: 27 Position: GK Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 0 Goals: 0

After the performances of Aarif Muhammad at the World Cup Qualifiers 91, his position in goal seems in little doubt now. Whilst he did concede 5 to The Holy Empire in the World Cup, his performances in almost every game were more than up to scratch. He’s kicked out an inconsistent streak and looks in fine form, with good all-around performances. Thomas Foley is in the eyes of many now the #2 goalkeeper for Flavovespia. Not capped yet, he’s shown great form in the Super League, and is a great shot-stopper, even if his distribution leaves a little to be desired. Lucky Diamond remains in the squad. His play style is the opposite to Foley, even if he’s not the most pure shot stopper, but will be able to play with the ball at his feet. However at 31, and with Flavovespia’s golden goalkeeper generation coming up to age, soon the eccentric goalkeeper could see his international career reach a swansong.

Defenders

2 David Lyons Age: 28 Position: LB Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 110 Goals: 3
3 Andrew Dance Age: 25 Position: RB Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 55 Goals: 0
4 Stuart Cookson Age: 27 Position: CB Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 62 Goals: 1
5 Tony Gardner Age: 34 Position: CB Club: Newrook City FC [NPH]Caps: 233 Goals: 6
13 Kishan Rees Age: 28 Position: LWB Club: Gunzlach [GRÆ] Caps: 46 Goals: 0
14 Paul Taylor Age: 22 Position: CB Club: AC Izotz Zubia [AUD] Caps: 10 Goals: 0
15 Daniel Lansdell Age: 29 Position: CB Club: St Astons City FC Caps: 54 Goals: 1
16 David Blythe Age: 31 Position: RWB Club: Kytheas Rivermen [TKT] Caps: 147 Goals: 0

No real surprise to see that the 8 defenders from the World Cup 91 squad remain in the CAFA Cup 4 squad. There was plenty of talk that Tony Gardner could be dropped or choose to retire on a high, but instead he still remains to provide vast international experience to the backline. David Lyons often wore the captain’s armband, and the enthusiastic left back settled well into that role. With Tony Gardner nearing the end of his career, Stuart Cookson and Daniel Lansdell will be the next likely centre back pairing, although Paul Taylor, after his move to AC Izotz Zubia in Audioslavia as a rotation option, will look to stake a claim. Andrew Dance has flourished into a strong right back, and will hope to have plenty of time in the national team. Kishan Rees, now at Gunzlach in the league of the World Champions Græntfjall, and David Blythe provide the possibility of a change in role for the wide backs in the team.

Midfielders

6 David Clark Age: 32 Position: CDM Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 136 Goals: 15
7 Kieron Player Age: 27 Position: CDM Club: Lanar [CMT] Caps: 108 Goals: 4
8 Robert Totten Age: 31 Position: CAM Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 90 Goals: 19
18 David Wassell Age: 25 Position: CDM Club: St Astons City FC Caps: 38 Goals: 0
19 Jonathan Bagshaw Age: 21 Position: RAM Club: AC Izotz Zubia [AUD] Caps: 44 Goals: 17
20 Andrew Thomas Age: 28 Position: LM Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 7 Goals: 1
24 Amrik Singh Age: 22 Position: RAM Club: Binclestead Wood FC Caps: 0 Goals: 0
25 Jonathan Goldstone Age: 26 Position: CM Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 0 Goals: 0

For the first ever time, there’s no Steven Hall in the Flavovespia national team. The former captain will be remembered for his 241 caps and 99 goals, and was a legend of the national team, and finally got the opportunity to play in the World Cup. Time waits for nobody however, and his replacement has already been found. And what a replacement it is. Jonathan Bagshaw, only 21, is already arguably one of the best in the team. The dynamic right attacking midfielder has great pace and dribbling, and already seems to be a real threat in and around the box. AC Izotz Zubia of Audioslavia agreed, and paid £115m ($11.5 NSD) to Langmere Green Rovers to sign him, more than double the previous highest transfer record for a Flavovespian. Nevertheless, he is not the only player in the squad. The midfield trio of David Clark, Kieron Player and David Wassell were an impressive force in the midfield. All 3 are typically more holding midfielders, but Kieron Player adapted well to a more creative role, with his good vision and passing. Robert Totten had a purple patch a few years ago, but hasn’t quite recreated his form, although he’s a good choice if more attack is needed in midfield. Andrew Thomas has also had a limited look in, with Michael Cole looking very strong on the left in the attacking 3. Finally, 2 debutants are in this squad in midfield. Amrik Singh is a young winger, currently at Binclestead Wood. Whilst his decision making and composure still needs some work, he’s shown real flashes of talent, in particular with his assists, and is already a key player for his domestic side. Jonathan Goldstone also joins the squad. A tall central midfielder, he’s not afraid of battling for the ball across the pitch, but can combine that with decent distribution and a good sense of where his teammates are.

Forwards

9 Michael Cole Age: 27 Position: CF Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 96 Goals: 39
10 Scott Coleman Age: 33 Position: CF Club: Aries Chariots [NPH] Caps: 221 Goals: 130
21 Adrian Jones Age: 28 Position: CF Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 28 Goals: 10
22 Robin King Age: 24 Position: CF Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 4 Goals: 0

The front line of Michael Cole, Adrian Jones and Jonathan Bagshaw established itself as the go-to for a while now. Michael Cole may have originally been a striker, but his pace and ability to cut inside means he’s more than just adapted to playing as an attacker on the left, he’s really taken ownership of that role for the national team. Adrian Jones may be on the bigger side for a striker and often seen as more of an aerial threat, but he’s surprisingly mobile, and can drop back deep and create space for the wider attacking players. Of course that leaves Scott Coleman on the sidelines now. He is still good enough for the national team, but at the age of 33, it seems his days as a star of the national team are likely past. Robin King didn’t quite get going in any of his previous appearances, his pace alone not quite enough at this level. Still, Augusto Rinaldi has enough faith in him for him to remain in the squad.

Tactics

The 4-3-3 has served Flavovespia well in recent times. It’s direct, vertical football that is the goal. For the defence, it’s relatively simple, a flat four who look to turn over the ball and then get it to the midfield or long over the top if the option is there. In midfield, 2 of the midfielders tend to take a more ball winning role, whilst the other has the creative freedom to move around and try and set up attacks or act as an outlet for passes. The 2 wide forwards must be able to make quick decisions to go for goal by cutting inside, or going outside and setting up a cross. This also relies on the centre forward being able to convincingly drop back at times to create that space.

The Starblaydia national football team factbook will tell you more about the team, their style, culture, fans, and history than I can ever write in a simple roster post. If you need more background information or just fancy browsing 17 RL/300 IC years of role-played football history, that's a fairly decent place to look. Otherwise drop me a message on Discord or, failing that, shoot a TG over.

1) Starblaydia's style modifier is +3
2) The best starting eleven are numbered 1-11 in bold, and opaque in the line-up graphic. 'Ideal' like-for-like substitutes are semi-transparent.
3) I actively encourage that if you RP first you pick my scorers (if any) and their style of goal. Really, please choose my scorers. So often I read RPs where my opponent writes "Starblaydia scored" and I find it so, so much more enjoyable when a name is picked for me.
4) * Denotes female, denotes elf, ^ denotes dwarf.
5) Before each match, in between the national anthems and kick-off, the entire 23-man squad will perform the Raiigar, one of Starblaydia's traditional war-dances.
6) If you need a name for a player to do a specific thing in the match, some vague suggestions are at the bottom of the infobox on the right.

For all the progress that Ázëwyn Fëanáro made with the national team from World Cup 78 onwards - winning the AOCAF Cup and the Under 18 World Cup, reaching the Finals of the World Cup, Under-18 and Under-21 World Cups - it was the World Cup 90 cycle that saw her downfall. Failing to even make the playoffs as a result of being in a group with Esportivan and IAC champions, she was given an ultimatum: win the 82nd Cup of Harmony or lose your job. The wrong side of a 5-4 thriller to eventual champions Chromatika in the semi-final proved to be too stern a test, and she left her role after the third-place play-off and the emotionally underwhelming presentation of those bronze medals. Ultimately the SFA went for an extraordinary candidate: Tlanx-Nulzk Han of Qusmo. The 66 year old two-time Galactico Manager becomes the first ever non-Starblaydi coach of the national team and proves that, now the tricentennial celebrations are over, the SFA is willing to go to any lengths - including 'Tlanxball' - to make that long climb to the top of the mountain once again. Missing out on a playoff place for the 91st World Cup by goal difference, however, is not the ideal start for the five-time World, seven-time Regional, two-time Under-21, one-time Under-18 and one-time Olympic Men's Football champions.

The full makeup of the team is as follows:

Image
TNH. Tlanx-Nulzk Hal, Manager, 66 - Image
Two-time KarlingSport Galactico Manager of the Season and former manager of Salstead and Savigliane, Tlanx-Nulzk keeps their streak of S-nations alive by taking the reigns and becoming the first non-Starblaydi coach of the national team in their three hundred year history. An attacking-focused manager who likes to play a 4–3–3 and advocates for social, political and human rights causes, it's a venture into Tlanxball for the five-time world champions, looking to a well-regarded and, in Saviglane, much-loved coach.

Image
1. Cristaldo Sarro, GK, 31 - Hippion Overdrive - Image
23 Caps, 0 Goals (9 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
The Overdrive 'keeper is known for fast hands and getting down low. The 3rd CAFA Cup was his first run of games with the national team, but he's as dependable as ever for his club side: even if they are overall kind of average, Sarro earns them at least 10 points extra every season with his performances.

12. Alan Valderas, GK, 28 - Sporting Salicus - Image
5 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Though he didn't play in the Cup of Harmony or Anaia regionals, Valderas is a solid and dependable goalkeeper who will surely make a number of appearances during the lengthy qualifying campaign.

19. Erica Savino*, GK, 23 - Sporting Salicus - Image
3 Caps, 0 Goals (5 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Savino has had a decent enough start at youth international level and has now been brought into the side for her first look at the sharp end of top level football. Not expected to make many, if any, appearances, but there's nothing like having a young goalie travel the world, soak in the atmosphere and keep the starters on their toes.

Image
2. Jamelia Soule*, RB/RM, 21 - Iskara Daii - Image
32 Caps, 2 Goals (5 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
A dead ball specialist with one of the cleanest strikes of the ball you're likely to see, Soule is the complete modern full-back. Often deployed in midfield for the Daii, the one question on her skills is actually at defending, and though she's often seen as a weak link and targeted by opponents, her record more than speaks for itself already.

3. Jose Antonio Marqués, L/CB, 29 - Corinthian Spirits - Image
26 Caps, 0 Goals (9 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Energy: that's the key word to describe Marqués' game, and in the forward-minded 4-3-3 where the full-backs are expected to not only defend but also provide attacking width, verve and overloads down the wings, the Spirits player has managed to survive the squad's fresh start after World Cup 90's disaster. The man has energy to burn sprinting up and down the left side all day, but questions still remain over his defensive ability.

5. Serafim Tassidis, CB, 27 - Ionia United - Image
28 Caps, 0 Goals (9 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Retaining his captaincy from the 3rd CAFA Cup, Tassidis is a tall and powerfully-built defender, but uncannily light on his feet with a superb reading of the game. He's got an educated left foot, too, and has more than enough ability to bring the ball out of defence, or track wide and cover the space left by an attacking full-back with ease.

6. Grzegorz Wójcik, CB, 23 - Hallad Reavers - Image
31 Caps, 1 Goal (8 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Coming through the ranks at the Reavers and already a solid member of the first team there, he provides a one man wall in any defence, but this belies Wójcik's touch on the ball. A combination of aggressive and composed, he looks like a monster but can be a dancer with the ball at his feet. Young, but with a huge amount of potential.

13. Charlotte Watson*, R/CB, 26 - Jhan Province - Image
7 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
In need of a backup right-back, Jhan Province's Watson is untested at senior level, but makes an ideal replacement to change up the defence, as she's a more traditional fullback, also able to play as a central defender and let the left sided fullback push as far up the pitch as they like.

14. Elisa Koivula*, CB, 28 - Hecia - Image
10 Caps, 0 Goals (12 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
First brought into the senior squad for the 3rd CAFA Cup, Koivula is a solid if uninspiring centre back, strong in the air and with a good reading of the game. Don't expect her to go on marauding runs in possession, but in a similar vein don't expect her to be massively caught out by your average forward with tricky movement.

20. Pete Edmonton, LB, 23 - Corinthian Spirits - Image
Uncapped (8 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
TBC.

21. Andre Stroinski, CB, 24 - Hecia - Image
Uncapped (8 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
TBC.

Image
4. Henry Whittaker, C/DM, 25 - Paricone Athletic FC - Image
36 Caps, 2 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
An all-action combative defensive midfield, Whittaker has the long limbs and engine of a player who can be a constant thorn in the opposition's attacks. Sometimes he can be a bit too aggressive or strong in the challenge, but that just makes his own fans love him more.

7. Oksana Shevchenko*, LB/LW, 25 - Beverington Hawks - Image
41 Caps, 5 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Listed as a defender but equally comfortable at your corner flag or the opposition's, don't be fooled by her relatively short stature. She's fast, really fast, and has great skills with the ball at her feet. Low centre of gravity and a quick turn keeps opponents away from the ball, and a killer final ball is ready to unlock a defence or smash in a goal.

8. Dawn Halleck-Winter*, C/AM, 22 - Tabeck FC - Image
39 Caps, 7 Goals (5 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
Playing with her head up and always looking to go forward, Halleck-Winter has already demonstrated she's an excellent player. From late arrivals into the box to long shots from distance, or getting up to support the central strikers and be a key part of the attack, Halleck-Winter has a lot of tools in her arsenal.

10. Stefania Clarke*, Captain, RM, 26 - Iskara Daii - Image
29 Caps, 5 Goals (5 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
An old-fashioned right midfielder, she's fast and has a wonderful touch on the ball with crosses and set-pieces. Stronger than most give her credit for, Clarke's vision and passing skills will definitely relied upon during this tournament, she's unlucky that the system doesn't quite gel with her best abilities. Her all round drive and leadership qualities, however, stand her in great stead.

15. Michael Torgue, C/DM, 23 - Beverington Hawks - Image
8 Caps, 0 Goals (8 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Fresh from holding the centre of the pitch at the 53rd Di Bradini Cup, Torgue is the natural successor for Whittaker in the long run, and may even be able to give him a run for his money during these Qualifiers. Does his best work of interceptions and breaking down attacks almost invisibly, and if you don't notice him for a period of play, he's probably doing his job perfectly well.

16. Rosinha Silva*, C/AM, 28 - Vecchio Victors - Image
10 Caps, 0 Goals (12 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Unlucky not to have featured in a senior squad until now, mostly thanks to the likes of Shinoda and Halleck-Winter, but also to the lack of need for specialised attacking midfielders in squads, as Fëanáro preferred all-round midfielders who relied on athleticism, vision and touch. Silva uses short bursts of speed, a good range of passing, and an ability to find enough space to turn and shoot in the proverbial phonebox to maximum effect.

22. Leilani Kukui*, L/AM, 19 - Samosisos Blues - Image
10 Caps, 0 Goals (2 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
The youngest player in the squad, the diminutive Kukui has bags of potential and the work ethic to match. Seemingly always able to find that extra half a yard to put in a cross or a shot, her hallmarks are quick feet and exceptional ball control.

24. Elijah Standford, CM, 23 - Vecchio Victors - Image
Uncapped (4 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
TBC.

25. Adrienne Ryan, LM/LW, 21 - Foxchester Raiders - Image
Uncapped (Uncapped at youth level)
TBC.

Image
9. Joe Mason, CF/SC, 26 - Iskara Daii - Image
31 Caps, 5 Goals (6 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Causing trouble in the box and strong as an ox, Mason provides the target-man plan B for this team, as well as being an instant draw for defenders who often can't cope with his size and power, but all that casts a deceptive shadow over just how good he is on the ball, and how much of a link-up player he is both in the air and on the floor. A winger's dream target man in the middle.

11. Hassan Al Faizan, SC, 22 - Cedrus Soundgardia - Image
40 Caps, 15 Goals (9 Caps, 5 Goals at youth level)
Al Faizan's potential is near limitless: incredibly fast, primarily left footed but also comfortable shooting on his right, he can play anywhere along the front three. His speed and pressing is suited perfectly to Tlanxball. The Under-21 captain, fireworks are expected from this kid whenever he plays, and he rarely disappoints. Along with Pukkinen, one of only two strikers retained from the World Cup 90 Qualifying squad.

17. Haruto Fukuwara, RW/LW, 21 - Tuncastle Rovers - Image
16 Caps, 0 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
One day it will be firmly established as to whether Fukuwara is better on his left or his right foot. A fast wing wizard in the mold of semi-mythical players like Jaime Kuu, Cherry Garcia and Stefan Haldorsson. Speed and tricks a-plenty, he's able to draw a foul and put in a decent cross, but often the quality of the final ball just isn't quite there.

18. Yuri Pukkinen, SC, 23 - Jhanna City - Image
19 Caps, 5 Goals (10 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
Playing up front at JCFC, you'd expect Pukkinen to be a big, strong centre-forward type, but in fact he plays what everywhere else could be called the 'False 9' role, dropping deep to bring in the players around him, relying on movement and cleverness to create goals, rather than being the one who bangs them in. He'll offer something completely different to other strikers when he makes appearances, be it as a sub or in the matches against lesser-regarded opponents. Along with Al Faizan, one of only two strikers retained from the World Cup 90 Qualifying squad.

23. Cornelius Redskye, SC, 19 - Beverington Hawks - Image
14 Caps, 1 Goal (2 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Cornelius "100% Banter Goals only" Redskye is the young man you need when you need an outrageous goal. In off his arse, a looping header from all of 35 yards, rainbow flick over the goalkeeper - he just doesn't score ordinary goals, or ones that don't matter.

Play style
The 4-3-3 was Fëanáro's go-to formation from youth teams right up to the senior side from World Cup 78-90, and the SFA's appointment of Tlanx-Nulzk looks to continue that trend, as they have long favoured that formation. The 4-3-3 relying on a high press throughout the team, with the majority of width and attacking verve from full-backs (2 & 3). Either can join the attacking line, often ending up in a 3-2-5. The three midfielders (4, 7 & 10) will look to overload and control the centre of the pitch with short, sharp passing and moving to ensure passing triangles are constantly available. Whether adopting positions as wingers or strikers, the forwards (9 & 11) will be working in concert with the the pivot (8) at all times, in both attack and a high pressing game as a unit.

Weaknesses
The 4-3-3 offers great tactical flexibility, but relies on two things: instant decision making (particularly from the midfield) and the front three operating in unison. Exploiting any miscommunications from the front three to expose, isolate and play through them can key, and forcing the midfielders to make tough choices with passing by pressing them or overloading their options can make this game plan fall apart. Attacking the full backs can also work, but their ability to switch up which one attacks and which one defends at any particular time needs careful exploitation. Other winning strategies of your choice are also available.

With a foreign manager, it's clear that all bets are off in regard to Starblaydia this time around. ediraf have seized on that idea by, for the first time in history, debuting a purple home kit. Each round-necked shirt is individually patterned with the inspiration of the purple orchid, Laelia Starblaydia, unique on every kit, whether worn by superstar athletes or dedicated fans wanting to wear the colours of their country. The away kit, in yellow-gold and black to match the other colours of the national flag, features a much more defined geometric pattern with the classic collar tinged delicately with a vibrant splash of purple. The all-green goalkeeper kit, too, shows off a patterned gradient design, with the entire collection (again with rainbow laces as a symbol of diversity and inclusion) putting Starblaydia and ediraf right back at the top of the fashion stakes. The best Starblaydi kits ever on first glance? You be the judge...

Optiyarn
Optiyarn technology increases both supporting structure and dynamic stretch ability according to the wearer's requirements, isolating body parts and muscle groups for maximum integrity of material and complete comfort of fit. Toughened against all climates that come into contact with the exterior, yet gentle and smooth on the inside, Optiyarn fits better and aligns more comfortably to a player's body than ever before.

Aerodynamix
Aerodynamix design improves airflow over the material in a natural, ergonomic pattern, because even microseconds can be the different between victory and defeat on the grandest stages of sporting endeavour. Limbs and torso move more swiftly through the air, cutting through to achieve acceleration and top speeds hitherto unknown in previous incarnations.

Transpacool Three
Transpacool Three improves and evolves on the breathability features of previous ediraf CoolClimate creations, dispersing sweat into the atmosphere faster than ever before, siphoning cooling air in with more efficiency than any kit the company has produced previously. A Generation Five kit provides a greater enabler to a player's natural talent than at any point in history whilst keeping them at the optimum performance temperature.

Star Player: Cocoabo #86

Cocoabo #86 is truly the star of the Cocoabo Squad. Although the Cocoabo Squad have not participated in a full World Cup campaign since World Cup 80, Cocoabo #86 continues to receive the occasional call up to support the World Cup Rosters and was credited as a reserve player during Turori's World Cup 88 Championship Run. Due to the fact that Turori itself does not historically participate in regional competition, the Cocoabo Squad currently align independently at the regional level of multiversal footsport.

The Aleirave Football Association
Baptism of Fire LXXVIII Champions
Roster for CAFA Cup IV

OOC: All players in blue are ethnically Klysevian, all players in red are native Aleiravan.

The island nation of Aleirave is a rather small one, with a population of barely 50 thousand, somewhere in Anaia. Where in Anaia is somewhat up to interpretation, but it's there, we know that.

The nation of Aleirave was originally founded by Fyodor Tereyev, who was a puteshestvennik (or "traveller") from Klysevia, about 350 years ago. His descendants ruled the island up until the year 2023, when Alexandr Tereyev was shot and killed by a lone gunman in a peaceful protest. Since then, the island has been ruled as an Special Administrative Unit of Eshialand, effectively acting as its own democratic nation within a nation.

World Cup Qualifying and the Cup of Harmony were a blur for this squad and their island. No really! Stories stopped being writted, news got lost in the cracks, people had this air of collective amnesia about them. They couldn't tell you what happened in that World Cup cycle after Coach Paka'ula hoisted the Baptism of Fire trophy high above his head in a parade in Lahaira. Nothing is remembered. All is lost.

Will that stop this team from coming back for CAFA IV, however? No. Despite Paka'ula being hilariously late to file the signup papers, the team intends to return, eager to improve on their miracle 4th place run last time, and hopefully come home with more silverware. That is, if they're even able to squeeze into the tournament at all.

Nickname: the Seagulls
Trigram: ALR

Stats and ages are a year behind, oops. Everything is only updated to post-BoF LXXVIII.

First international: Audioslavia 4-0 Aleirave (CAFA II)
First win: Aleirave 6-3 Space Laser Dinosaur Robot Pirate Land (CAFA III)
Best win: Aleirave 6-0 Unpleasant (BoF LXXVIII)
Worst loss/Most goals against: Audioslavia 4-0 Aleirave (CAFA II)
Most goals for: Aleirave 6-3 Space Laser Dinosaur Robot Pirate Land (CAFA III), Aleirave 6-0 Unpleasant (BoF LXXVIII), Caribbia 3-6 Aleirave (BoF LXXVIII)
Highest-scoring match: Aleirave 6-3 Space Laser Dinosaur Robot Pirate Land (CAFA III), Caribbia 3-6 Aleirave (BoF LXXVIII)

Home pitch: A field just outside Lahaira (capacity: 100)
One of the few grassy patches on the whole island will be the site of the Seagulls' home matches. It isn't much, but you'll be on a tropical island!

Coach: Haulafo PAKA'ULA (M, 53)
Given the political situation in Aleirave, Coach Paka'ula was not supposed to form this team. His grand scheme when he decided to craft this team was to show that natives could be just as good at football as the Klysevians, and that the two could work together in an international competition. President Tereyev flatly denied Haulafo's request to start the team, so he did what any normal person would do and assembled the team anyway.

Montesina is a small republic in western South America Anaia, a country of beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and snowy mountain ranges. Its national colours, wine and gold, reflect the great historical tradition of the country's land in wine production and mining. Today, the country is a neo-liberal hellhole where inflation is at an all-time high and the poorest people suffer from high prices, thanks to the ruling ProtoDictator, José Martínez Ubiña. Montesina is a growing country, thanks to its great economic potential and the work of its brilliant citizens. President José Martínez Ubiña is a strong leader leading the country on a path of progress. The country's main cities are Sán Bertrán, which is the capital, San Martín, which is part of the former's conurbation, Nueva Vizcaya, which is further north and is renowned for being taken over by drug cartels for its warm water beaches, and Iturralde, further south but still on the coast. The interior is virtually ignored by the government, except when corrupt bureaucrats want to buy votes for Ubiña and his allies is the country's major production centre, and towns like Guayama, Molinos and Mandarinas are large swathes of land ruled by corrupt oligarchies who hold the financial power are major wine producers for export. In the mountains, gold mining destroys the environment and causes ecological damage, as the government insists on obtaining minimal amounts from exhausted veins, receiving environmental sanctions from all sides, we're no longer experiencing a golden moment, and so the government works on the environmental recovery of the areas affected by mining while seeking new alternatives.

Football is the national sport of Montesina and it has been used by the government to deceive the population in every major tournament. Just look at how the elites are taking advantage by selling outdated products at low prices such as "CAFA special promotion" "Baptism of Fire Sale" brings dreams to the hard-working people of the nation. The country has a Football League, which is expected to join the international scene in the next IFCF and some players have achieved success playing outside the country. President Ubiña, who is one of the sponsors of "La Liga Collíbrie" hopes that these incompetents will continue to be a smokescreen for the people to ignore the corruption in the country the players will represent their country well, and that they will be sold soon to teams of other countries, after all the more football, the less the people want political rights, to take the name of Montesina to the whole world.

Image

La Selección de los abutres de la AMF de Montesina for the CAFA is the same who played in the fiasco that was last World Cup first international experience in BoF and WC selected by the Head Coach Hugo Medrano, chosen by being a government boot-licker his experience with La Unión, one of the most popular clubs in Montesina.

Depth Chart: Team plays mostly in 3-5-2, but can move
into 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.
Number	Name Pos.	Team Bio
1 Sergio Duhalde GK Image Nacional Experienced goalkeeper. At 35 years of age, he should last at most one more season in the national team. He is an excellent penalty kicker and could be used in this role.
2 Óscar Dorado DF Image Siete de Abril Oscar is a hard-working defender who does not give up on any ball, even if it is only to kick it away from danger.
3 Guillermo Arias (C) DF Image AS Lutetia At 28, Arias is possibly at the best moment of his personal life. Newly married, playing for a foreign team, and captain of the national team. It is a well-deserved success for the young man who is recognized for his great sense of positioning on the field.
4 Alexis Navarro MF Image Club Sparta Rising star in the midfield of Club Sparta, where he competes with Leo Artemon. With Lisander out of the Cup, will Navarro show that he can take over as the starter in the defensive midfield of the Principality's most successful team?
5 Pedro Guarín MF Image Nuevo Sol Guarín is a decent defensive midfielder with vision and accurate passing. He made his career at Nuevo Sol, but it is unlikely that he will accept to leave the club from Mandarinas.
6 Agustín Molinos DF Image Siete de Abril Ranging from defense to left back, Agustín Molinos lives up to the name "windmill" for his great speed. His stamina is not so great.
7 Fernando Madero (A) MF Image La Unión A major idol in La Unión (he has never played for another team), Madero provides perfect crosses and when he is on a good day, he works wonders on the edge of the box.
8 Juan de Soto MF Image Atlético San Beltrán Unlike most people from Montesina, he comes from a wealthy family and has chosen football more as a leisure than necessarily as a job. It's almost unfair that he has so much quality in midfield.
9 Damián García-Hirsch FW Image VdÖ Berlint Born abroad, García-Hisrch is the son of a Montesinan father and a foreign mother, so he has dual citizenship. Raised in San Beltrán and trained in the canteras of Siete de Abril (His father is a Communist), later he moved to Varmennia with his mother. He plays in the country where he lives, but has chosen to represent Vinotinto y Oro because Varmennia does not participate in the World Cup. On the field, he has a privileged vision and his passes are millimetrically planned.
10 Ricardo González FW Image La Unión Ricky Gonzalez is the number 10, the team's maestro, with his astounding dribbling skills and deadly shots. At 27 years of age, he is the guy that kids want to be. He is dating Lara Mellita, a famous singer in Montesina and has his own clothing line.
11 Mario Lopez MF Image Atlético San Beltrán A left-sided midfielder and owner of an extremely strong kick, he is a footballer and, curiously, also competes in road cycling events.
12 Matias García DF Image Siete de Abril García is literally the 12th player in this squad. When Medrano wants more speed, he removes a midfielder and places García at right-back, turning the 3-5-2 into a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, depending on Madero's position.
13 Patrício de la Hoya GK Image Atlético San Beltrán A young 23-year-old goalkeeper, "Patito" is the most likely to replace Duhalde in the first-choice position for the future. An avowed fan of the #1, who has made no secret of his admiration for his idol, De la Hoya has started practising penalty kicks under the influence of him.
14 Tomás Montero DF Image Universitario A young defender with good performances in La Liga, he could learn a lot. But as the captain's substitute, he is likely to get little time on the pitch.
15 Sebastian Frías DF Image La Unión "Feo", as he is called because of his hair, is a left-footed defender with enviable agility. He commits few fouls and if given the opportunity, he will fight for the position with Molinos.
16 Kevin Martínez MF Image Nuevo Sol "La pulga" is only 19 years old. Quick and agile, he has a reputation for getting rid of fouls and taking the game forward on the right, crossing or shooting.
17 Diego Piñera MF Image Independiente Another young midfielder, he was chosen because he adapted to the fast paced style that coach Hugo Medrano practises.
18 Mariano Solís MF Image Atlético San Beltrán One of Atletico's young talents, as García-Hirsch, Solís is a speedy midfielder with the same characteristics as Martínez, but playing on the left side.
19 Sebastian Sanchez Ruiz FW Image Club Roche "Bastian" Ruiz is a striker who moves very well to receive the ball. A typical No.9, he lost his position to García-Hirsch, but should not give up a spot in the starting 11.
20 Franco Bernal FW Image Estudiantes de San Martín Bernal is a perfect man inside the box. He's got the coolness, speed and dribbling skills to spare. However, competing for the position with Ricky Gonzalez is an extremely inglorious task.
21 Santiago Mastrangelo FW Image Nacional Although criticised for his poor form at Nacional (which is the team with the lowest goal average this season), Mastrangelo is a striker with a good shot and does not usually waste clear chances.
22 Marcello Franzini GK Image La Unión Franzini is a very good goalkeeper, with a respectable record at La Unión. He should be Duhalde's immediate replacement in the first instance, but he knows that at 29, he can't compete against the strength of CASB's youthful goalkeeping.
23 Daniel Ayala DF Image Universitario Ayala is 22 years old and plays for Universitario de Nueva Vizcaya. As the sixth defender in a team that usually plays in a 3-5-2 formation, it is likely that he will only come on the pitch for the others to rest.

Montesina jerseys are made by a famous brand. It is just a mass-produced model where the crest has been applied, contrary to what the federation likes to boast. It is sold for inhuman prices. It is a jersey made with the best of technology, prepared especially for the national team! By buying it, you help sponsor local football. Noteworthy is the extravagant blue and wine goalkeeper's shirt, made to the taste of Duhalde and De la Hoya.
