RESULTS ARE IN. LATO TAKES THE WIN FOR MARSHALL OF THE KUN!

As of 6:21 AM Monday June 13th, the results are in for the election for Marshall of The KUN. first the last place in the election Andreas Ai-Zawsze with only 6.8% of the votes. Ai-Zawsze happens to have chance against the other two contenders Sasha Halász and Egyesít Lato, which of whom have been favorites since the beginning of the election. The results however, came down to Halász having 37.6% of the vote coming short to Lato's 55.6% making Lato the next to become the new Marshall of The KUN. Lato came out earlier with a announcement saying quote: "I see this as a complete victory for Lisamia and The KUN as a whole. I am filled with joy after the fact that I will now be able to lead the way for my country and The KUN" end quote. The election also named Lato the first ever Asian-Lisamian to be a Marshall in Lisamian and KUN history. His inauguration of becoming Marshall will be held in Satsurika where he will be inaugurated by Ceszarist Sasha Juhasz in St.klara's Cathedral next week. Oh woe the world! Recently, the country of Zarcinvo Nova was hit by nuclear weapons, countries of the world have announced ownership or development of nuclear weapons. As Charoskania has not decided to allow the construction of Weapons of Mass Destruction, they denounce this, and instead, recommend preparing nuclear bunkers, anti-nuclear technology, etc. etc. The Foreign Minister has released a statement about this:

New main battle rifle for the Revolutionary Army

As part of the JURA modernization proposal, a new rifle has been developed for the Revolutionary forces and their service branches. The SAR-5, or known as the Stork Assault Rifle - 5, is a next generation rifle that uses 5.45x39mm ammunition, allowing less recoil, added range, and is suited for long range gun fights. The gun is made and designed by the workers of Stork Union and Zelenny Union, with a collaborative design from Zhuiko Remenus and Yulavka Toryi.

The rifle itself is ambidextrous, as seen from the rifle's charging handle, making it comfortable for both left-handed and right-handed users. The SAR-5 is a short stroke piston, gas operated, closed, rotating bolt action rifle. Its overall weight is 7.3lb, or 3.29kg, with a rate of fire ranging from 600 to 800 rounds per minute. In terms of attachments, the Picatinny rail on the rifle allows users to carry a variety of attachments such as grenade launchers, flashlights, and advanced optics. It has 3 fire selectors, which are safe, burst, and auto. The SAR-5 is expected to be the main rifle of choice throughout the entire branch of the Revolutionary Forces, replacing the SKR-7 and SAR-3 Assault Rifles

In addition to the expansion of strategic weapons the Imperial Government has announced the start of developing new weapons for the Imperial Military. The first of these is a new Main Battle Tank. A new fighter jet and an airborne drone carrier will be unveiled in the coming weeks.


The new MBT which will combine the advanced technologies used by the Panzerkampfwagen XII Königsadler and P-140 Schwarzer Falke MBTs with western solutions is named P-60 Tiger and it is a radical departure from the quantity focused approach of most previous Phenyzian designs.
The new P-60 Tiger will feature an improved 140mm hypervelocity cannon and new munitions giving it an effective range of nearly 10 kilometers, in addition a remotely operated coaxial machine gun will be mounted on the roof to defend against hostile drones.
In terms of protection the Tiger features a new generation of hard and soft-kill APS named Odins Auge which is capable of providing coverage against attacks from any direction including top attacks, a new reactive armor called Zitadelle will be an improvement over the 4th generation Festung ERA mounted on current Imperial tanks. The Tiger will also utilize a new stealth system based on the stealth armor of the P-140, this will offer additional protection against drones, ATGMs and other autonomous weapon systems. The Tiger tank will feature further upgrades to the linked command and control systems which have been a staple of Phenyzian tanks since the introduction of the Adler (M).
The P-60 will have the ability to carry up to 3 drones, 2 UAVs and 1 UCAV which will be operated by the fourth crew member. The Tiger is described as a "Fifth generation main battle tank, while most of our opponents haven't even fielded fourth generation tanks yet" However due to a unit cost of nearly 80 million, exceeding even the P-140's unit cost of 35 million or the 15 million unit cost of a Königsadler, the Tiger will only be issued to select elite armored divisions, while the Adler and Königsadler remain the primary tanks to replace the various older designs still in service.

{Opinion} GENA: Absorbing Alliances at What Cost?

Throughout history, the world has seen large alliances rise and fall though in recent memory no one organization has captured so much attention as the Global Entente of Nations and Alliances, a relatively new and burgeoning alliance that claims to be a successor to a fabled "World Assembly." It claims to stand for diplomatic cooperation between states of all differing backgrounds and ideologies, in order to ensure a more peaceful and democratic system can flourish. A noble goal for sure, but it seems lacking in practice as GENA is seemingly focused on absorbing, and annexing smaller alliances of countries in an effort to make itself the largest alliance in the world. Some of these "mergers" are indeed open and free processes, the result of fair negotiations between GENA and it's new branch; but there lies a dark underside to the giant organization, one of backdoor dealing between alliance leaders and outright takeovers of smaller organizations in the name of just getting bigger.
The countries that lead GENA, Southeast Marajarbia and Aursi insist that the intent of GENA is to keep on expanding like a sort of blob across the world. There is no peace until every nation is under the GENA fold. There is no other central goal than expansion no matter what the cost is, and it'll break GENA in the long run. In recent days, GENA merged with the League of Independent States, an organization diametrically opposed to democratic rule of law and a rules-based world, something that GENA claims to fight for. Why did they merge with LIS you may ask? The answer has been clear and has been reiterated in this very article several times before.
Is GENA destined to conquer the world through its "mergers?" The short and comforting answer is: No. There are indeed alliances and states that have resisted the assimilation of GENA and its predecessor, the GCN. The Kalisight Treaty Organization is the first alliance that seemingly comes to mind in terms of attempting to keep GENA in check, as well as the resistance of the anti-slavery alliance AFAASA much to the chagrin of GENA's host-nation, the Marjarbian Federation. Where does this leave the International Freedom Coalition? The Coalition, it can be said has no intention of being annexed by any large alliance currently. I am confident that the IFC will continue to exist long after GENA collapses in on itself through inevitable in-fighting, with the one country that enriches itself at the cost of its many client states being one of the first to fall into chaos.

Dep. of Trade Loosens Foreign Investment Regulation

Last night, the Department of Trade (DOT) announced that it was loosening the restrictions for foreign investors entering Olpenese stock markets. The new regulations minimize the previously strict regulations on what nations can purchase stocks on ideological grounds. For instance, the Galapagos, KTO members, and their citizens can invest in Olpenese corporations.

Other restrictions have been lifted as well. While foreign nations themselves cannot hold more than 26% of the shares (as the government has 50% they rarely use to vote), their citizens can. New companies owned by other countries can now also be sold in Olpenese stock markets, as previously only Olpen based companies could sell.

This is hoped to make the Olpenese Stock Exchanges more revenue to be given to the state. This will supposedly cover military costs and the new infrastructure bill passed 2 months ago. The new revenue will also be used to loan to other states so that Olpen could have what it calls 'Insurances" which can protect against a sudden deficit.

This was controversial among protectionists, who see this as allowing Olpenese countries to serve foreign powers rather than the Olpenese state and people. these concerns have not been met, and right-wing papers and groups like the Patriots Army have picked up on this and have implied that the government does not care about the security of the poor.

Memorial To Sorit and Queen Sinestra To Be Built

Constitution City Square, where monument is to be built

In Constitution City, a 500,000-dollar statue to Gabrielle "Gabby" Sorit is to be built near a plaque to Queen Sinestra Dragonheart. This comes on the 4th anniversary of her death, and almost 2 years after the Almatonian Genocide. The monument will be life-sized (5.8 feet tall), but will be raised on a 2 feet pedestal.

It will be at the center of the Constitution City Square, known as Republic Square. It will be able to be seen from the Ministerial Palace, as well as the Meretican Embassy. The Square is visited by 2 million people a day, with many of those being tourists. The area was built in 1973, 12 years after the making of Constitution City.

Much of the funding is coming from the Sorit family, with much of the rest coming from the Chamber Ministers' own pockets or from donations. The design will be chosen in a contest. The reward for the contest is 10,000 dollars, as well as great fame and honor. The contest is in the early phase, after which it will go to finalists chosen by a commission before the final 4 are given to the public in an online referendum.

Queen Sinestra will have a small plaque near it 30 feet away as a monument to the friendship the two had. It will be a bronze tablet on a granite podium and will be 3 feet tall. The area around it will have a still pond as a memorial to those who died in the Almaton Atrocity and King Vilnius.

Governing coalition collapses amid war with Turkey

MUNICH- After the Parliament voted to intervene against the Turkish Communist State earlier today to protect Aegeonia, the Communist Party formally withdrew from the governing coalition. This leaves the government without a majority, and the Chancellor with 298 seats in his governing coalition with a parliament of 600 members. The Communist Party withdrew after a loud outburst from its party leader, Hans Kassner, during the vote for intervention. He was shouted down by just about the rest of Parliament, before Parliament was called to order by Chancellor Friedel.

Now, the Chancellor is left with two main options: Try to sway the Liberty Party, the party most likely to align with the coalition, into forming a government, or ask King Frederick II to dissolve Parliament and call a new General Election, only 127 days after the previous General Election, called due to the government not passing a budget due to Liberty Party opposition.

A dissolution of Parliament and general election seems to be the more likely option, as many in the Social Democratic Party, United Democratic Party, and Green Party remember what it was like trying to constantly keep the Liberty Party in the coalition while still trying to pass reforms. The King, with his relatively little political power, would allow for a dissolution of parliament and general election easily.

Multiple missile sites in Gonswanza have kicked into action FOBS, with multiple warheads now in orbit, ready to strike down the communist state and glaze it over with radioactive cobalt. Armenia annexes Eastern Anatolia

Without a doubt, Operation Avedisian had been a resounding success.

Though the Armenian government was unaware that The Turkish Communist State had come to power; it seems that their army has all but collapsed in on itself. Their poor defensive operations in Eastern Anatolia prove that especially, with massive casualties and just general incompetence; proving once more, at least in the eyes of the Armenian peoples, the sheer strength of the Armenian war machine. Either that - or it reassured that the overstretched Turkish armies were incapable of fighting a two-front war. Their authorities in the region finally capitulated after the fall of Erzurum; which was taken by the 4th Army Corps earlier today.

Following an uptick in harsh urban warfare in Turkey between the communists and forces loyal to Aegeonia, the region was directly incorporated into the kingdom, each province given an Armenian name. It is reported that the Armenians seem to be treating the Turks with relative respect and, according to an Erzrum-based reporter, have begun recruiting ethnic Turks into their military.

At midnight Imperial Forces have launched a large-scale operation codenamed Authority, Naval Infantry alongside Colonial Security Forces have taken over numerous essential locations in the Phenyzian Pacific Territories while the Fallschirmjägerkorps, the Phenyzian airbone forces have done the same in cooperation with local security forces in the East African Territories.

AZNUP forces have taken operations in Zarnicovia Nova gaining large amounts of territory. Some far 54 smaller cities have fallen. The entire RNG 3rd and 5th are miles in the Rio Cal region of Brazzillia have surrendered to AZNUP forces. The RNG 2nd army has also been destroyed with the reminding 8 other armies suffering between 20-60% causalities. More importantly the Rio de Brazzillia region has nearly collasped. Most resistance on Isla Grande Brazzillia has also surrendered. AZNUP forces have broken resistance in New Gascony in half and have pushed RNG forces back in Xiang Xu, Mu, Ri and Jing.

Just today the current Commonwealth Ministers of Lisamia and Arbeitsam-Kriegsherren Miklos Sawa and Trevor Von Archtin have issued a order the mobilization of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 7th fleet after two major events that are occurring at the moment. Those two events being the inauguration this weekend and nuclear strikes in Turkey. First, the nuclear strikes occurred not to long ago detonations have been confirmed in the Mediterranean. The response has ordered the first three fleets that are stationed in Lisamia to be on high alert at all times at the moment and the 7th fleet stationed in Arbeitsam-Kriegsherren to be on high alert as well. The casualties of said nuclear detonations are still currently unknown at the moment but it at the current moment has had the Germans in Arbeitsam-Kriegsherren shook at the moment with one resident in Hanover stating quote "I feel like I could see the detonation from all the way in Rome. It is just so close to us its very scary, I had to tell my son that everything is gonna be okay and those people won't attack us I promise. Aerospace Minister Ronalde Ludens announced today that Avijanos Heavy Industry and Elsiynthi Aerospace Technologies were rewarded contracts on the design and construction of future modules for the IFC Lunar Base, while the first Guadalupadorian habitation and service modules would be made and deployed from "off the shelf" parts and modules utilized on previous missions. When presented with the announcement that the Nifonese space program set a goal to land humans on Mars by the end of the decade, the Minister responded: "It's a rather high goal for the Nifonese, a country that hasn't put that much time or expertise into a manned space program as we or our compatriots in the Roman and Shazite Space Programs have." According to GFAM, the Nifonese space program has yet to develop a successful super-heavy launch vehicle dedicated to bringing humans to the Martian surface and back to Earth, though according to Shogun Maki Kojiro, that may change in the near future. The Shogun remarked on Social Media site Setsuzoku: "The Empire of Greater Nifon strives to reach new heights in every aspect. This includes the space exploration. When other nations try to climb the heavens, so shall we... A modified Bronze Dragon 7 rocket will be used to reach Mars, where a Nifonese flag will be stuck as a testament of error of all those nations which maligned us as backwards."
Ludens was also asked about the implications of the Nifonese space program on Guadalupadorian national security, Ludens told the journalist to refer to their question to the Minister of Defense before remarking that while the Nifonese Space Program was primarily military-based there is a chance through Kojiro's remarks that the push to land a human on Mars could be a wholly peaceful and scientific endeavor. One of the final questions asked at the briefing was on the possibility of scientific cooperation between the Shogunate of Nifon and the Federal Union: "Not at this time." was all Ludens said before wrapping up.

The Ukcrossian civil war has leveled out, leaving the communist forces and the pro-government forces, as they finally reunited with the rebelling soldiers. With Ukcross split, the communists occupying the capital and the western/south side of the island, and government forces occupying the eastern/north side. The sides quickly start to search for advantages they could use on the other side. The communists search chekvons many armories and checkpoints, finding weaponry, vehicles and chemical weapons. They find large supplies of white phosphorus bombs, and tear gas. They quickly start using the chemicals, firing at government positions. They then launch an offensive toward the government capital, but it is stopped with the offensive force encircled in Gardensburg. The government army, now even more crippled (The losses were ~1200 Communist dead, ~3700 Government dead ~4000 Communist wounded, ~7000 Government wounded) The government turns to hiring mercenaries and mass conscription, leaving the people with all sorts of shortages. The pro-government forces start reaching out to other governments for help.

The WMDs Ukcross previously owned have mostly been "missing" in a way, as many documents and servers with information on them have been destroyed, leaving almost no one with a location. The people who do know, mainly the still rogue Alexander Slazo, have kept it a secret. A singular WMD has been found though, leaving both sides rushing to take it.

AZNUP forces have continued their all-out offensive. The Rio De Brazzillia region of ZN has surrendered to AZNUP forces. Another RNG army down. RNG forces centered in La Frontera Este de China in southern New Gascony have also surrendered to AZNUP forces. RNG forces failed a breakout attempt in Tallin and have pushed back nearly to the sea, now facing encirclement in the port cities of Port George and Gang Hallin. The nounce around Tallin is slowly tightening and negiotations are going no where. Most major resistance in Zaricoa has also been destroyed, AZNUP ministers preparing to return to their old capitol.

At the sametime as the offensive organizing starting in Zaricoa and Cal for protests against Armenia and the Novan Conservative Party occupation of the country are now in-full swing. Hundreds of thousands took to the streets in Cal letting in AZNUP forces. They rose up in Zaricoa with millions taking to the streets. RNG forces falling to stop the protests as they spread across the whole country. Chants of 'get out Armenia, get out NCP' and 'Gdridg II your an ass' came across the streetys of Zarnicovia Nova. Burning the flag of Armenia and the Republic of Zarnicovias Nova and proudly waving the flag of AZNUP.
