Handball World Cup 26 Everything Thread

Postby Bollonich » Sat Jun 04, 2022 10:47 am

WELCOME TO THE 26TH HANDBALL WORLD CUP HOSTED BY BOLLONICH

Rosters
It is a common courtesy to your opponents to list a roster, even if you do not plan on roleplaying the tournament. At minimum this should be a list of 7 players including a goalkeeper; the recommended squad size is 16 players including 2 goalkeepers. Otherwise you can include any other information you think interesting or relevant, from player descriptions to coaching staff, uniforms to playing style.

Handball does not use style modifiers (you can list them if you want to give a sense of how your team plays, but they will have no mechanical impact on the scores) and all games will be played at neutral venues so you do not need to list home stadium information (though you are free to do so).

Please include some form of RP permissions, indicating your preferences for how your opponents roleplay:
Code: Select all
If my opponent RPs first, they may:
Choose my scorers Y/N
RP injuries to my players Y/N
RP yellow cards / 2-minute suspensions / red cards to my players (bold all that apply)
Godmode scoring / injury / other events (bold all that apply)

Disciplines in handball are yellow cards (basic warnings); 2-minute suspensions (for more serious offences); and red cards (full ejections).

Godmoding is considered to be unusual events that might rarely or never happen in the course of a game. A player scoring a goal with their weak hand is not godmoding; a player scoring a goal by bouncing the ball off a passing pigeon is. Judgement calls on what constitutes godmodding are best resolved between players.

Please read the RP permissions of teams you play against. If you feel someone has not followed your RP permissions, please try to resolve the issue between the two of you. Repeated violation of others’ RP permissions may result in a loss of RP bonus or further penalty. In the event of any irresolvable dispute, the host’s decision will be final.

Format
The 26th Handball World Cup will be hosted in two separate group stages before progressing to the knockouts. The Qualifying stage will feature the 20 teams divided into 4 groups of 5 based on pots seeded on the basis of the latest rankings. The top two from each group will qualify to the second group stage. The Qualifying stage will be a double round robin with home and away matches played at the stadia of the respected nations and nations are encouraged to provide this information along with their rosters.

Kriegiersien Handball National team

As the women are Olympic champion and won gold for the second time, it was a no brainer to send them this time instead of the men. It is the same team who won gold, except for Kelia Ernestine, who was replaced because of pregnancy by Hannah Halforc who is a sentient pony.

Team name: Græntfjall
TLA: GRÆ
Demonym: Græntfjaller
Team nickname: Bouncy Wolves

Kit: Blue with white piping; alternate is the reverse; GK wears red. Because all Græntfjaller names are patronymic, players typically have their first name on the backs of their shirts.

Coaches: Marís Nikolaisson and Annes Sigvarðursson

№	Pos.	Name Age	Height	Club
1 GK Samuele Henriksson 27 2.04 m Image Mipojoseon
2 LW Berent Spjällesson 26 1.95 m Image Korsbach
3 CB Álfgrímur Agnarsson 25 1.93 m Image Þingsnitz
4 RB Euphrates Emmanuelsson Achola 22 1.94 m Image Diepoldsburg
5 CB Frans Mikesson 26 2.04 m Image Karvian Tigers
6 P Anders Andersson 26 2.00 m Image Gründorf
7 GK Talfryn Adamsson-Pride 22 2.08 m Image Reschensreppur

39 P Þjífþælmidr Þjugnöndángsson 20 2.07 m Image Væggerfried
44 RW Niklas Unnbjörnsson 31 1.86 m Image Reschensreppur

The core of the team are the former Olympic medalists who won runners-up at the last HWC: keeper Samuele Henriksson and main scoring threat Jack Jockisson, along with Noah Josefsson, joined by emerging star Vékell Jósepsson. But two big names are gone as the team moves on from Isak Göpfsson, and Spartakus Kristinsson, investing trust in Kijani-born Euphrates Emmanuelsson Achola, the first black Bouncy Wolf in the team's history, and Goðmundur Jürgennsson, also of foreign, though considerably less exotic, extraction (Schutzenphalian). Dynamic young pivots Tístran Steinþórsson and Þjífþælmidr Þjugnöndángsson will continue to feature in two-pivot sets and split time with Anders Andersson.

HWC GROUP DRAW: Groups Revealed
Let's check our previous results against our next opponents!

The Handball World Cup is coming up, and the draw for the groups has been made. This time there is no easy group. From the Top 10 (in which we reached with great difficulty), only Savojarna will not participate. It promises to be so complicated that Lisander is only the third seed in the group.

On our way, Sarzonia (3), Quebec and Shingoryeo (6), Strayaroos (38) and Darkmania (Unranked). Interestingly, Lisanderians, Quebecois and Roosians repeat the group from last World Cup.

Sarzonia, Top 3 in the world, curiously is a team Lisander has never faced, neither in the World Cup nor in the Olympics, so it promises to be a great challenge. I think we should be happy with a draw.

Quebec and Shingoryeo, on the other hand, is a familiar opponent. A strong sporting nation that is our rival especially in Fencing. In Handball, however, we have yet to beat them. It has been two games so far: The first, in the Second Group Stage of HWC 24, we lost at home by three goals: 24-27. The second, at the First Group Stage of HWC 25, also ended in defeat for our side, but this time the final score was 29-31. Will we have a close match? Probably. Can we win? No difficult questions, please.

The third opponent (in ranking order) is Strayaroos. The land of the kangaroos and the principality of the stoats faced each other once in handball: Our victory, in the First Group Stage of HWC 25, 31-17. The level enjoyed by Lisander in world handball these days is high enough for us to believe in a quiet victory.

The same should be true of Darkmania, who are starting their Handball World Cup journey in this edition. Unless the newcomers present a World Class game, Lisander should win and convince.

TEMPORARY - STARTERS FOR MD1: #2 Eder Martins (G), #6 Filipe Orean, #22 Amaro Miranda, #13 João Salvaterra, #4 Ricardo Kronel (C),#9 Mário Pátroclo, #22 Hélder Liziero.
RP Permissions: Just not seriously injure anyone.

SYLESTONE NATIONAL HANDBALL TEAM

THE 25TH HANDBALL WORLD CUP

Overview

After reaching the final in just the Hawthorns’ second appearance in the Handball World Cup, Sylestone came into the last HWC, held in Græntfjall, as one of the favourites to take out the title itself. They started off strong, too, with two wins in two against Eshialand and Gatchingerrak Union, but with qualification for the second group stage assured, a second-string lineup lost by a single goal to Natanians and Nosts. However, due to an excellent goal difference bettered by only the hosts, Kriegiersien and HUElavia, the Hawthorns were comfortably placed as the sixth seed out of sixteen in the finals and placed in a group with Varmennia, Srednjaci and Quebec & Shingoryeo. However, after the lessons learnt from the loss, Sylestone aced the second group stage with tight wins over Srednjaci and the Hawthorns’ co-host from the previous World Cup and a clinical performance against Varmennia to move into the quarter-finals as a significant favourite. But HUElavia put up a strong performance, Sylestone only defeating them in overtime to set up a crunch semifinal against Bollonich, a side that, with Sarzonia’s elimination to Savojarna, appeared destined for glory as defending champions. And that they went on to complete, pipping Sylestone by a single goal in a thrilling game before defeating the hosts in the final, while Sylestone emerged victorious in the third-place playoff to finish third overall. While there were a few too many close matches for the side’s liking, their ability to finish ahead in almost all of them was a promising sign. But with many of their senior players departing from the international scene following that tournament, many question whether the dynasty is over.

Hawthorn skipper Isla McCartney has called time on her international career, ageless goalkeeper Bianca Gotch has done the same, Isabella Bailey has been dropped in favour of youth. These are all of the changes that have been made and with Amber James and Samantha Hussey both in their low thirties, more are down the road. However, with the formation of the Sylestone Handball Intranational Tournament (SHIT), more young players have more chances to prove themselves and as a result, Sylestone handball is in a very, very strong position.

The only question remaining is whether these young players can transfer their domestic class onto the international scene. And whether new captain Lachlan Fosbrook can inspire the same sort of gutsy tactics the Hawthorns played under Isla McCartney.

Handball World Cup 26 Everything Thread

Postby Godchouzetsu » Sat Jun 11, 2022 9:24 am

All set for the first HWC for Godchouzetsu!

It is not long before the Handball World Cup begins in the nation of Bollonich, who is in charge to host the 20 teams that will seek to be the multiversakes kings of this sport. There is Godchouzetsu, one of the 5 nations that will make their first appearance in the World Cup (It will also be the first international competition for the young nation).

The national team arrived in Bollonich a few days ago to settle in their respective training camp and in less than 24 hours they will have to play their first match in the competition. Godchouzetsu is in group 4 where he will face three nations within the top 15 in the ranking (Græntfjall, Kriegiersien and Juvencus) and another unranked team (Eud Mirabilis) who will be the team to beat in this first group stage.

About the players, they all play in the national league and Eric Rosel was chosen as the first coach for the national team by the Federation. "many will think that our goal is just to have fun, but me and my players aspire to do much more" were the words of Rosel in his presentation where clearly they will look for great results beyond if they are eliminated in the first round, our team will look for some historical result.

Lineup for the inaugural match

Close match, loss for Gchouzetsu in the inaugural match

Bollonich
The day has finally arrived for the first matches of the Handball World Cup 26! The national team began its adventure facing Juvencus, top 12 in the ranking.

The loss was to be expected but the national team showed guts for this match, we kept the advantage in several moments of the game while the team blocked many attacks from the rival team, Godchouzetsu defense was key to a momentary victory at halftime (15-13).

In the second half, a great offensive change was quickly shown in Juvencus in addition to strengthening their defense, the national team tried not to be left behind but finally Juvencus would end up getting a well-deserved triumph (27-24).

The players who stood out the most for Godchouzetsu were Ostaf and Teringham at an offensive level, making a great combination to break the rival defense. Torres and Koris also showed their abilities to create dangerous plays, who did not play one of his best games was Nazario despite working well in the first half, in the rest of the game he had a downturn after finishing slightly hit on his right foot being replaced by Quon Bogard.

Psychologically the team is excited to face the next game and try to get the first victory HALA GCZ!

LISANDER HANDBALL NATIONAL TEAM

Ranked: 10th, 5.341 pts
Style Mod: +4
HWC Record: 19-4-19
Last Edition: 13th, Second Group Stage

Team Information
Lacking greater support from public opinion, Lisanderian handball is financially sustained mainly by fan support. Events like World Cup (and the TV/Streaming opportunities it generates) are important to expand the number of people interested in the sport. The age of this team is ramping up, so for after the 26th edition, the retirement of some veterans like Amaro Miranda, who's already reaching the age of 38, is expected. On the other hand, the new generation is still going through a complicated process of professionalisation, where only a few clubs (like the multisports clubs AC Kasandora and Club Sparta, or from cities where handball is the most played sport, like HC Malemort) are able to guarantee that their athletes are full-time professionals.
Lisander Handball's plan is that these 16 players, full-time professionals paid by the federation, can bring another good result, at least better than HWC25. They are counting that these results can boost the TV ratings and ticket sales of the recently-formed Liga Nacional de Handball (LNAH). Opinions are divided among fans. Some argue that this team is too old. Others argue that this is the best generation of national handball in a long time, and that the entry of new names should be gradual and based on the evolution of the LNAH as it improves.

Some remarks on playing style: Lisanderian Handball is offensive, based in fast passing. It makes counter-attack effective and can present players like Rafael Hildebrand and Mario Pátroclo with beautiful one-on-one moments with the other team's goalkeeper, but also leaves a lot of openings. Teams can try forcing the turnovers. When in defense, these players especifically tend to be a lot physical in contact, and getting two-minutes suspension is common. New generations are getting increasingly becoming better in defending with less fouls, but they aren't still the majority of this roster.

Quebec and Shingoryeo Men's and Women's National Handball Teams - HWC 26

The Quebecois Handball Federation (QHF), in continuation of its practice also shared by Royal Quebecois Volleyball Federation (RQVF), Basketball Quebec (BQ) and Royal Quebecois Football Association (RQFA), is proud to continue its practice of sending mixed teams with expanded rosters to international competitions. In regards to their opponents' preferences to play the men, women or mixed teams, will remain flexible in advanced consultation with their opponents (OOC: go ahead and ask me).

HANDBALL IN QUEBEC AND SHINGORYEO

Handball is the number one summer indoor sport in Quebec and Shingoryeo, a spot it comfortably holds with packed stands. While the sport itself doesn't hold the 30,000+ crowd the gridiron or baseball matches normally get, the relative accessibility of handball more than cover such deficiency. Quebec and Shingoryeo does have a 3-tier, dualsex pyramid for handball, with the 14-team Ligue-Boreale at the very top of the pyramid.

Unfortunately, the international results for the Quebecois national teams have yet to really reflect their popularity. Following the double gold at Nassau Bay-Centralis, the three-decade long (and ongoing) dispute between Quebecois Handball Federation, the Players Association, and the Ligue-Boreale, had meant that the Quebecois national teams rarely entered over last three decades, if ever, with a full squad, with many refusing to participate internationally over last thirty years. Fortunately, the recent cycles' improvements, highlighted by the women's national team's performance in Bunjil just six years ago, would suggest that there is lot more to look forward down the line.

STYLISTICS

Stylistically, Team Quebec distances itself from the usual style of brutal physicality found in other sports. Both men and women are finesse and speed-driven, preferring to overlap and pass a lot before finding lots of opportunities, which makes sense given their relatively shorter height. The team's ability to come up with endless combinations, thanks to its strengths on the most important position in centre back, is what's going to make this team hard to play against. They will try to stay as flexible as possible on positionality between the backs, where they do enjoy a relatively better depth than on the wings, and on right side of the court. That is what they will use in order to overcome deficiencies on height and also on wing play.

Unfortunately, they are somewhat weaker on wingers though they rely a lot on wing play, and the relative imbalance between the left and the right side of the attack is what the Quebecois need to fix as well. The goalkeepers, for most part, are pretty good, occasional troubles on the empty net aside. Oh, and whether they succeed or fail on a match-to-match basis will really come down to how many turnovers they can produce- those they will probably have to work bit more off.

Thus, expect them to try scoring from the sides than the centre, though if they do so up the middle, they will be going for 9m shot instead of a 3m shot or even 7m shot. Empty goal situations are always good for them as well. They will convert turnovers too, as long as they can get enough of them...

The Team

Coaching Staff

Choo Yeong-Heon Analyst 38 Universite St. Croix
Bok Jong-Hye Team Doctor 41 PLI Islanders

The Quebecois Handball Federation will be sending a preliminary entry that consists of two 14-team lists: Primary team and the Alternates. The primary team will be where the vast majority of the players (at least 9 of the entry before every match) will take part, while the alternates will exist to provide two purposes: 1) to provide full-game drills and match situations during practices, and 2) to provide healthy competition within the team. With the recommended squad size being 16 players (14 field players+2 goalkeepers), it is safe to assume that around 4-6 players on the alternates will also see playing time each match.

RAW VISION: COACH PRIOR SPEAKS ABOUT HUELAVIA LOSS

Sylestone vs HUElavia @ Institute Arena, Chamberley, Sylestone

Sylestone Starting VII: Dumaresq; Strange - Bochsa - Strezlecki; Raven - Fosbrook (c) - James

HUElavia Starting VII: Unknown

CHAMBERLEY, SYLESTONE - “Obviously many people across Sylestone are quite disappointed at today’s result, and rightfully so, too. After three Handball World Cups, we have only ever lost to very few teams - Bollonich twice, Græntfjall and Natanians and Nosts. And that number comes from a ridiculous 28 games. 28! That’s 24 wins and four losses! However, today we have had to add another nation to that list, and it was a side that completely deserved their win, too. Today, they simply played better than us, and that’s that. There is no argument about it and I think a 27-23 loss is fair.

“However, I would like to stress that I’m still very proud of the boys and girls that took the court today. As a young squad, to play the way they did was truly astounding and there will be much, much more of it to come. For goodness sake, HUElavia is currently ranked fifth in the multiverse and is well and truly on the way up. Even with the experienced squad we played with two years back, we had to go to overtime until we were able to defeat the HUElavians, so they’re a lot better than many have been making it out to be. We always knew they were going to be a very tough challenge to overcome and we feel the same way about our other opponents, too. Gatchingerrak Union are not one to rest on, while Kannap have shown in the past that they have a promising handball squad that may become world-beaters in future tournaments. Even Whitecroft showed lots of class on their debut today and we are going to have to play well to take full points out of our encounters with each of them.

“But I think that this team can do this, and go very deep here in Bollonich. Personally, I thought that for significant periods of today’s game we were the better team and if we can capitalise on those moments, then we can form a squad that has the ability to take out our nation’s first World Cup title. Our main issue at this point in time is teamwork, for many of the newcomers to the squad have never played before and are still integrating into our environment. Yet, I still have faith in them being able to successfully complete that by the time we face off against HUElavia again on their home turf. I thought both Lucas Bochsa and Owen Pitt, our young defenders, played their hearts out today and believe that if they can continue their motivated work ethic, they will become future stars. However, despite their excellent performances, we still fell short today and many of the issues that arose today will be focused on before we head to Kannap for our second match.

“Thank you.”

HANDBALL WORLD CUP - BOLLONICH

WIN IN OPENINNG MATCH!

BY

IVAN BOŽIĆ

Dear viewers, good afternoon and welcome.
The World Handball Championship has started. This championship will be a real test for our mix team. After this championship, the Olympic Games begin and then the new handball club season in the domestic leagues. The host of this world championship is Bollonich, the team that bears the title of the main favorite to win the new title. It is Bollonich who is in the group with us.

Group 2
Delaclava (UR)
Srednjaci (11)
Octapolis (29)
Bollonich (1)
Abanhfleft (7)

Our team is led from the captain's position by Antonija Ružić. Antonija is our highest paid athlete and also one of the best handball players in the world, and we believe that she is the best in her position.
However, another name stands out and that is the brilliant pivot from the men's league, Damir Vrenić. Damir is an amazing twenty-three-year-old player from RK Plava Laguna, he is promoted to one irreplaceable player in the national team. He amazes the handball world with his games. Of course, there are other stars of our handball, such as Tihana Udvarić, Adela Musić on goal and Viktorija Udovčić on the right wing.
The change in the team is that some standard players have lost their place in the starting lineup such as Golub and Prgomet. We are happy with the fact that we have young players aged 19 and 20 who could get some minutes in this championship.
Here is rest of squad.

Image

Srednjaci 32–22 Abanhfleft

The great game of our players resulted in a convincing victory against Abanhfleft with +10 goals !Abanhfleft is a team that is ranked better than us but on the field we were dominant and the Master Bears were simply in their elemnt. The opposing team lagged behind from attack to attack. Abanhfleft had no answer for Antonija Ružić, who scored 14 goals. Antonia was an enigma for Abanhfleft’s defense.
With this victory, one big step was made towards the second round of the championship.
in the last competition our national team finished in ninth place overall. We believe we can do much better this time.

Our television will broadcast all the matches from this championship, and of course we will analyze the matches of our team separately. We believe that you will be satisfied because a hard-working team of people works day and night so that we can enjoy the most popular team sport in Srednjaci.
And what it looks like in editing, in broadcast and in the technical room ... it's a bit crowded but also very busy.
You can also take a peek into the background of our tv team, without which the broadcasting would not be possible.

Spare a thought for the Bouncy Wolves. As the Snow Wolves have just pulled off their greatest ever victory, and the Ice Wolves cruised through an untroubled group stage, the national handball team have rather struggled for column inches. Their opening game at the Handball World Cup in Bollonich in fact got little more than column nanometres. Anchored by an excellent performance from Samuele Henriksen in goal, they made straightforward work of Eud Mirabilis at the CNU Arena in Háttmark. Vékell Jósepsson led all scorers with 8 goals, and with Noah Josefsson (6) and Euphrates Achola (5) chipping in, the offence flowed well, while Henriksen provided regular saves. Most importantly, the team, repeatedly hit by injuries at the last two editions, survived the encounter without so much as a questionable, and will travel to Juvencus with a full strength side.

Gatchingerrak Union Handball Team
Trigramme: GGU
Denonym: Gatchin/Unionian
Nickname: Seven Stars

Gatchingerrak Union of Rushmori nations, shortened as the Gatchingerrak Union, is a cultural and political alliance of four countries of the Quebecois Commonwealth located in mid-southern Rushmore (Norrskie Zasousti, Norrehavn, Gatchinovo and Novopetrograd). The three kingdoms and the citystate, while independent nations of own, do have the Gatchingerrak Union as a way to establish their common zone, where their main goals are to advance co-operation in military, cultural, economic and energy matters. It shares land border with Vaugania and Norrhem to the west, while bits of the east touch Phoenigetzusta. Combined population of the union are estimated to be around 81 million.

While its trio of nations have always fought with one another for centuries, Gatchingerrak Union is a culturally diverse nation with growing importance outside to that of the Quebecois Commonwealth. Its population is ethnically diverse, with the eastern, Novopetrogradian half of the realms primarily Slavic, while the Western half is divided to primarily Nordic Norrehavn on north and slavic Norrskie Zasousti on the south. Somewhere in middle of the lake, which faces all of the three nations, stands the island that is nowadays known as the citystate of Gatchinovo, the ancient place known for its significance on trades and diplomacy among the Rushmori realms of the Quebecois Commonwealth. It is where the Accord between the 4 states were signed in year 2030 (around the time of WC78), to promise co-prosperity among the rivalling states whose cooperation is needed more than ever. Its economy is a mix of natural resources and heavy manufacturing for it.

THE TEAM

Head Coach: Samuil Becker, 38
Assistant Coaches: Gennadiy Petitpa, 44
Marina Nesterenko, 42

The Gatchingerrak Superliga is a mixed-gender league, with men and women and genderfluid peoples playing in the same league. This reflects in the national team selection, and fluidity with strategies will be sought out to reflect the mix. As with their Quebecois counterparts, the Gatchingerrak Handball (GatHan) will be sending a preliminary entry that consists of two 14-team lists: Primary team and the Alternates.

This Gatchingerrak Union team returns a majority of players from the third-place team four years ago. Samuil Becker continues to manage the team, with his assistants consisting of Gennadiy Petitpa, a former Novopetrograd legend with Montreal Koreana, and Marina Nesterenko as his assistants. The previous cycle's 12th place finish had ended with four veterans announcing retirement, and there likely is more challenge to come over the years with Cecilia Wanne, Lars Soubak-Skov and Margolina Grankina expected to retire after this cycle. The team has many stars as expected, but the most reliable, known name would have to be rightback Irina Mandelshtam, left wing Eduard Porogolev, goalkeeper Galina Nachtaller and pivot Vadim Tavrizyan. Cecilia Wanne plays as the team's captain this cycle.

I'll be available via PMs or TG - if you do plan to TG, however, please send it to Quebec and Shingoryeo first for prompt responses.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL HANDBALL TEAM

This is the eleventh time that Abanhfleft will be participating in an international handball tournament. Handball is quite an obscure sport in the Democratic Republic, with no professional league established, and the handball department in the Commission on Sports and Games started out as just two men working out of a plastic table, but now their office has expanded to include three more coworkers and a bigger table. Even though the national handball team has suffered a downturn in form as of late, the rising interest was still enough to finally establish a handball league in the country, more of which will be discussed further down the line. But as always, the national team's objective remains the same as it has always been: win the bloody thing.

Everything as expected
Lisander 29-24 Strayaroos in Soria, we watched on the Arena.

by Bruno Azevedo (with Fernanda Viana - travelexperiences)

Last night's game went exactly as we expected. We left home (in Despina) just after lunch, to avoid the evening rush in Soria. With the game scheduled for 8pm, it was best to arrive early. Not that the arena was crowded. We were even able to choose where to sit without rushing, after all not even 80% of the tickets were sold. I don't think the same will happen in Malemort, or that the same would happen in Vila da Foz (although the VF Arena wasn't ready in time for the HWC, and AVF is having its LNAH games in a school gym).

The Albert II Pavilion, owned by Racing Club de Soria, is a modest gym with a great atmosphere. The capacity is for just over 4,000 people, all seated, and is where the capital's most democratic club hosts its handball, futsal and volleyball matches. The structure that RCS has prepared for handball is enviable. Just like in AC Kasandora, the amateur handball department has a lot of prestige among the club members, so they ensured a good structure for the transition from amateur to professional. The place is clean, we were very well received, the snack bars serve the usual food (hot dogs, hamburgers, soda, beer) and the price is average, unlike other arenas that inflate the price horribly just because the national team came to play a game there.

In the game itself, Lisander had safe control of the scoreboard for the whole time. From our seats, I had a great view of the game. Giacomo Spaletti's passing game works perfectly, like clockwork. Rafael Hildebrand continues to play very well at 31, and according to my wife, Fernanda, remains handsome. This last part interests me less than the 9 goals he scored last night.

Most of the time, Spaletti played with two pivots, focusing the game in the centre with Pátroclo invading between the Roosian defenders. He finished the game with six goals. Even Del Pozo scored twice, on empty-net occasions at the other end. I can see this team going very far in the tournament, especially with the stumbles of Quebec & Shingoryeo, who accumulate draws against weaker teams.

The end result was positive, as was the hotel we stayed in, which had a lovely balcony overlooking Soria Bay Marina. And the best, for only 60 Lis. But that's a subject for travelexperiences.blog.ls, which is Fernanda's page.

Lisander 29-24 Strayaroos
Scorers, Lisander: Hildebrand (9), Pátroclo (6), Liziero (4), Kronel (4), Salvaterra (3), Del Pozo (2), Hipólito (1)
Scorers, Strayaroos: Unable to identify, as they were not wearing names in jerseys last night.

The Principality of Lisander, a sports loving, very highly developed nation in Astyria.
Disappointing people and missing deadlines since 2013.

Godchouzetsu defeats Kriegiersien and gets his first points!

G.123 Sports Complex, Czeskl, Godchouzetsu
The national team returned to its homeland to play its first home match, its rival will be Kriegiersien one of the favorites to advance to the second stage and ranked 8 in the world.

The match was played in Czeskl, capital city of Godchouzetsu. with the entrance of approximately 15,000 people, mostly fans dressed in the colors red white to support the team. At a slightly earlier time Juvencus managed to win their match against Græntfjall.

Those led by Rosel started the game quite dominant conceding goals to Moe Edna, while Todorika showed his ability to break through the defense leaving an even first half (13-13).

In the second half, the match remained even between both teams. Ostaf was a key player when he had a chance to get into the game, yet defensively both teams were missing their target where he let us see a little goal fest. When it was all set to end in a draw, a desperate attack from Chirrones Koris could have given the team the victory but Moe Edna stopped the shot. finally the ball bounced giving Ostaf a chance to renate but Addison Nikkole caused (to our delight) a penalty in favor of Godchouzetsu. Ostaf was in charge of exchanging it for a goal and giving the local team an agonizing victory and giving the nation a "first" great joy

In the end both teams greeted each other and congratulated each other on their great sporting spectacle, quite possibly Kriegiersien will seek revenge in the next match. Godchouzetsu will be ready by then.

HALA GCZ!

Goalscorers: Wollow (7) Ostaf (7) Teringham (5) Torres (3) Koris Tablos (2) Nazario (1) Calderón (1) Koris Chirrones (1)
