Just a minor critique here but, wouldn't the last option (option 3) remove the monarchy and instead change the government to some other form entirely? Most likely defaulting to a democracy (which afaik doesn't have a policy title), hence adding another effect to option 3 beyond what is inferred by the (written) effect.

Granted, given what is said, I don't think it has enough weight to "dissolve" the government (and the option certainly isn't worded as such), but that's just one minor oddity that stuck out to me.

I think that this last bit makes it pretty clear that option 3 is a policy reversal option for nations who wish to do so.

Ah, I see. Perhaps the effect line is best written as such-

[EFFECT]@@LEADER@@ can't sleep, hugging six pillows while Rose Nightterrors is playing down the hall.

Or something to that effect.

Also yes, I tried to make a mild joke out of a reference to the Infected Mushroom song Pink Nightmares. But I think that's a bit of an unfunny stretch on my behalf.

I think the Sex Pistols option should have a line that specifically references how the jubilee specifically is a waste of time/ludicrous, as at the moment it can be added to any monarchy issue

Well, the Sex Pistols version of God Save the Queen was anti monarchy, not specifically anti jubilee.

Do you think that option 3 should just be a 'let's not celebrate the jubilee' rather than 'get rid of the monarchy entirely' option? And if so, why?

Either would be fine by me, but I think that if you choose the abolish monarchy option the option should at least have the guy saying something about the jubilee sucking (and therefore the monarchy).

I agree with the monarchy to democracy (as opposed to monarchy to fascism) belief. History shows that fascist regimes are basically absolute monarchies without the hereditary office
I'd say this nation is about 85-90% representative to my beliefs

About the only difference between my nation and beliefs is that free markets are effective in a select few situations, and the compulsory organ harvesting is kind of screwed up

I'm probably in the minority, but I actually pay more attention to in game stats than to roleplay

The "fascist" bit is just a reference to the Sex Pistols song.

As we currently have three times more "abolish the monarchy" options than "create a monarchy" options, I'd probably suggest the former. I think it would be in keeping with anti-monarchy positions to demand that if they want a party, they should pay for it themselves ("maybe with some of that money the Monarchists keep claiming they bring in!") - maybe add a couple demands about other things they should pay for as well, to make sure it isn't a "Dismiss" type of option.

Thanks VH, in order not to have too many abolish monarchy options, the third option has been changed to let's not celebrate it.

Second draft is up.

I've changed the third effect line in the second draft.

Any more comments?
